Production Process Evaluation
Research
Strengths
• One strength I feel my research has is of
the existing product I looked at for
inspiration and a good jumping off point
for my audio product as they had clear
and distinct audio quality and were able
to tell a story without the media of
visuals to help tell that story so it would
be a good idea to take concepts from
those and incorporate it into my own
work.
• Another strength I feel my research had
was that of understanding what was the
same between each existing product
and what was different between them
as well.
• A final strength I feel my research had
was of the audience I chose to focus on
as what I had planned for my final audio
piece was a dark government conspiracy
theory like story which the audience I
choses may enjoy something like that.
Weaknesses
• One weakness I feel my research had
was that It only looked at one kind of
audio media instead of having one
page dedicated to another type of
audio product just in case the plan for
my final piece changed.
• Another weaknesses I feel my
research has is that there is a repeat
where two of the audio logs are set in
the same universe which may limit the
ideas that I can come up with for my
final audio product.
• A final weakness I feel my research
has is that of the themes within the
story's of the audio logs as all of them
have this more dark gloomy feel to
them meaning I didn’t have a very
wide scope of research material.
How this helped my final audio
product
The way my research help my final audio product was by
helping me get an idea on where to set which was the halo
universe which in expanded media have had theme of
government cover ups and conspiracy theory's
Another way my research helped my final piece was by giving
me and idea on what I could take from existing audio logs see
what make them work and implement it into my own work so
that my final audio product can be the best it can be and
entertaining for other listening to it.
What I could have done better or
improved and what effect it would have
on my final audio product
one way I would improve my research would be to change one
of the halo audio log with another audio log from another
game like bio shock or dead space and a way the effect this
would have on my product is that the audio log may have
been set in another game universe.
Another change I would make to my research would be the
tone of each audio log as I might have had one that had a
more positive and upbeat mood to it and the effect this might
have had on my final audio product would be that the audio
log may have cover a different topice and have a more up beat
mood to it
Planning
Strengths
• A strength I feel a strength of my planning is the
amount of ideas I manage to initially come up with
allowing me to have many base to start on as the
final idea came into fruition.
• Another strength I feel my planning had was the
wide array of ideas I for an audio documentary
which was the original plan meaning I had many
theme and subject to cover or choose.
• A final strength I feel my planning had was the
simplicity of the ideas meaning that they would be
easy and simple enough as they only cover one
concept each meaning that if that idea was
chosen there wouldn't be the problem of moving
onto the next topic.
Weaknesses
• A weakness I feel my planning has is that the may
be to many ideas as many aren’t really used in the
end so it becomes more of a waste of time that
could be used for other pieces of work.
• Another weakness of my planning I feel is that
page 1 of the planning is a lot more emptier than
page 2 so in many way it give off an impression
that not much effort was out into that page which
should not be the intent.
How did my planning help my
product
A way my planning helped my final audio product was
by giving me an idea of what I wanted to do and if I
wanted to set It anywhere and what topic or idea the
product would cover which eventually turned into
what it is now.
What I could have done better or
changed and what effect would it have
on my product
a change I would make to my planning is to add more
ideas to the first page and the effect this might have
had on my final product would be that I might not
have even been an audio log at all.

Time Management
• I believe I have managed my time making my final audio product quite
well as I was able to get the voices I needed for characters and sound
effects to finish it right on time with me even able to get a secondary
audio project for the final one during that time as well.
• However I do believe my project could have been improved with
additional time as I could have probably messed around with one of the
voices to see if I could create a computer effect when the actor spoke.
• And what I would have done now if I had more time to produce my work I
probably would have gotten different voice actors for the survivor and ai
Sam as the recording took a little more time than was needed due to very
chuckle personality's but also rerecord line that were messed up and also I
may have added more sound effects like a devise turning on to give of the
impression of Sam the ai coming online and maybe even the original idea
of having sound effects of chairs being pulled back and fourth which got
side lined as I saw It as not neccecry at the time.
Technical Qualities
Similarity's
• One similarity between my product
and the existing one is in the tone
which is dark dreary and hopeless
showing the dark side of humanity.
• Another similarity my product and the
existing one has something being killed
by someone.
• Also a similarity my product and the
existing one has is how it is presented
as it is not told through the eyes of one
person from their perspective rather
we are a blind observer of a situation
happening between two characters.
• A final similarity between my product
and the existing one is with the use of
background sounds to convey a place
or an object as mine has the quiet
buzzing of a light to convey and
interrogation room with the existing
products audio having sound of
scratching conveying that the audio
was recorded on a steampunk esc like
audio recorder.
Differences
• A difference between my product and the existing
one is with the setting they are in as the setting
for mine is in an interrogation room close to our
own world whilst the setting for the existing
product is set in an under water city far from
civilisation.
• Another difference between my product and the
existing one is of what each is about whilst mine
is about secret agent interrogating a survivor to
see if he has any information that may destabilise
the unsc whilst the existing product is about a
scientist seeing if the brain washing on a small
boy worked in which he has the boy snap his dogs
neck against his will.
• Also a difference between my product and the
existing one is in how it shows different dark side
of humanity with mine showing government level
conspiracy theory's of cover ups whilst the
existing one show the dark side of humanity when
scientific study has no limits and is allowed to run
wild.
• A final difference between my product and the
existing one is that of the theme as mine has a
more implication of modern sci fi setting to it
through the use of sound effect and mentions of
thing that would fit on that setting the existing
one has an implication of a steam punk setting as
through the use of the scratch sound effect you
hear when listening to the audio log.
Aural Qualities
I feel the my work sound great with a few adjustments needed but still great all the same. I feel it was creative enough to
not be called the same of something else.one aspect of my products audio I quite like and am quite proud of is of the part
when the oni agent play the recorded video of the flood attacking unsc forces which was a separate audio work I did in my
spare time and I am really happy with how it cam out. However the thing I would improve on would be the voice acting. The
way I would improve this is by having my voice actors recorded multiple readings of a line and use the one the fits best as so
to replace some of the line the seem out of place.
Strengths
• A strength I feel my audio product had was in its story
quality as I feel I manage to convey well the story I was
trying to tell in my audio log through dialogue and sound
effects.
• Another strength I feel my audio product has was with
the use of the sound effects to covey when the survivor
slide over recording device over to the oni agent when
oni agent 2 shoots the survivor with one second later the
body hitting the floor these I feel play at the right time
and convey the right event going on clear enough.
• A final strength I feel my audio product is of the part
where you hear the recording of a flood attack on unsc
forces which I feel really give the audience a sense of my
product being an audio log as it tells it’s own contained
story but shows a greater narrative going on
Weaknesses
• A weakness I feel my work has is with how some line of
characters are read as at two point a word in a
sentence is skipped which breaks the flow of the
narrative.
• Another weakness I feel my work has is that at certain
points in my work either the audio or sound effect has
background noise or and echo which can seem very
distracting for the listener as there isn’t much of a
consistency in how something sounds with one
sounding fine with no background sounds to having an
echo or background noise.

Audience Appeal
One way I have managed to appeal to my target audience is by sticking to the dark and dreary
themes of the dark side of human nature which I had planned such as government cover up of
incident that may have negative reproduction if it became common knowledge, this kind of
theme is mostly enjoyed by Social consciousness type B which was the target audience I was aim
to get my product out to.
Another way I have managed to appeal to my target audience was by adding the audio which
ties my product to the series halo which main target audience are 15-22 year old which is the
part in the video in which we hear and audio recording of a fight with unsc and flood this allows
my product to appeal to that audience of 15-22 year because it has a relation to a product they
are investing in.
A final way I am able to appeal to my target audience which is mostly men is by having my
product show dark themes like death and government cover ups and the brutal nature of war
and how no one is safe even children as there is a part within my product there Is a mention of
covenant force killing everyone they see meaning this appeals to the target audience of men as
men have a tendency of like story having dark narratives within them

Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– Easy to understand what was going on.
– Very good use of sound effect
– I liked the part were an audio recording of a battle
was taking place as it was well composed together.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Oni agent 1 was clear enough to understand but the
other characters seemed very quiet and hard to
understand clearly
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– Very good use of sound effect
– I liked the part were an audio recording of a battle
was taking place as it was well composed together.
– The plot was very simple to understand.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– One character was clear enough to understand but
the other characters seemed very quiet and hard to
understand clearly
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– There was a very good use of sound effects
– The story was clearly told.
– It was easy to hear and understand the character
you were playing
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– It was very hard to hear one of the characters
– Also some line are miss read
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– That characters were hard to hear and understand.
– Lines were sometimes miss read.
– A very good use of sound effects.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– That the character I played was easy to understand.
Peer Feedback Summary
One change I would make to
my product based on peer
feedback would be to raise the
volume of some of the
character within my audio log
so they are easier for my
audience to hear and under
stand.
A second change I would
make to my product based on
peer feedback would be to
have my voice actors rerecord
some of their line and use
those in the audio log so the
audience isn’t brought out of
the experience.
With these two changes I believe my work would become
better meaning it would be at a quality that both entertains
and keeps the audience ingrained within the story.

FMP Evaluation Audio Product Review

  • 3. Research Strengths • One strength I feel my research has is of the existing product I looked at for inspiration and a good jumping off point for my audio product as they had clear and distinct audio quality and were able to tell a story without the media of visuals to help tell that story so it would be a good idea to take concepts from those and incorporate it into my own work. • Another strength I feel my research had was that of understanding what was the same between each existing product and what was different between them as well. • A final strength I feel my research had was of the audience I chose to focus on as what I had planned for my final audio piece was a dark government conspiracy theory like story which the audience I choses may enjoy something like that. Weaknesses • One weakness I feel my research had was that It only looked at one kind of audio media instead of having one page dedicated to another type of audio product just in case the plan for my final piece changed. • Another weaknesses I feel my research has is that there is a repeat where two of the audio logs are set in the same universe which may limit the ideas that I can come up with for my final audio product. • A final weakness I feel my research has is that of the themes within the story's of the audio logs as all of them have this more dark gloomy feel to them meaning I didn’t have a very wide scope of research material. How this helped my final audio product The way my research help my final audio product was by helping me get an idea on where to set which was the halo universe which in expanded media have had theme of government cover ups and conspiracy theory's Another way my research helped my final piece was by giving me and idea on what I could take from existing audio logs see what make them work and implement it into my own work so that my final audio product can be the best it can be and entertaining for other listening to it. What I could have done better or improved and what effect it would have on my final audio product one way I would improve my research would be to change one of the halo audio log with another audio log from another game like bio shock or dead space and a way the effect this would have on my product is that the audio log may have been set in another game universe. Another change I would make to my research would be the tone of each audio log as I might have had one that had a more positive and upbeat mood to it and the effect this might have had on my final audio product would be that the audio log may have cover a different topice and have a more up beat mood to it
  • 4. Planning Strengths • A strength I feel a strength of my planning is the amount of ideas I manage to initially come up with allowing me to have many base to start on as the final idea came into fruition. • Another strength I feel my planning had was the wide array of ideas I for an audio documentary which was the original plan meaning I had many theme and subject to cover or choose. • A final strength I feel my planning had was the simplicity of the ideas meaning that they would be easy and simple enough as they only cover one concept each meaning that if that idea was chosen there wouldn't be the problem of moving onto the next topic. Weaknesses • A weakness I feel my planning has is that the may be to many ideas as many aren’t really used in the end so it becomes more of a waste of time that could be used for other pieces of work. • Another weakness of my planning I feel is that page 1 of the planning is a lot more emptier than page 2 so in many way it give off an impression that not much effort was out into that page which should not be the intent. How did my planning help my product A way my planning helped my final audio product was by giving me an idea of what I wanted to do and if I wanted to set It anywhere and what topic or idea the product would cover which eventually turned into what it is now. What I could have done better or changed and what effect would it have on my product a change I would make to my planning is to add more ideas to the first page and the effect this might have had on my final product would be that I might not have even been an audio log at all. 1 2
  • 5. Time Management • I believe I have managed my time making my final audio product quite well as I was able to get the voices I needed for characters and sound effects to finish it right on time with me even able to get a secondary audio project for the final one during that time as well. • However I do believe my project could have been improved with additional time as I could have probably messed around with one of the voices to see if I could create a computer effect when the actor spoke. • And what I would have done now if I had more time to produce my work I probably would have gotten different voice actors for the survivor and ai Sam as the recording took a little more time than was needed due to very chuckle personality's but also rerecord line that were messed up and also I may have added more sound effects like a devise turning on to give of the impression of Sam the ai coming online and maybe even the original idea of having sound effects of chairs being pulled back and fourth which got side lined as I saw It as not neccecry at the time.
  • 6. Technical Qualities Skip to 51.22 Similarity's • One similarity between my product and the existing one is in the tone which is dark dreary and hopeless showing the dark side of humanity. • Another similarity my product and the existing one has something being killed by someone. • Also a similarity my product and the existing one has is how it is presented as it is not told through the eyes of one person from their perspective rather we are a blind observer of a situation happening between two characters. • A final similarity between my product and the existing one is with the use of background sounds to convey a place or an object as mine has the quiet buzzing of a light to convey and interrogation room with the existing products audio having sound of scratching conveying that the audio was recorded on a steampunk esc like audio recorder. Differences • A difference between my product and the existing one is with the setting they are in as the setting for mine is in an interrogation room close to our own world whilst the setting for the existing product is set in an under water city far from civilisation. • Another difference between my product and the existing one is of what each is about whilst mine is about secret agent interrogating a survivor to see if he has any information that may destabilise the unsc whilst the existing product is about a scientist seeing if the brain washing on a small boy worked in which he has the boy snap his dogs neck against his will. • Also a difference between my product and the existing one is in how it shows different dark side of humanity with mine showing government level conspiracy theory's of cover ups whilst the existing one show the dark side of humanity when scientific study has no limits and is allowed to run wild. • A final difference between my product and the existing one is that of the theme as mine has a more implication of modern sci fi setting to it through the use of sound effect and mentions of thing that would fit on that setting the existing one has an implication of a steam punk setting as through the use of the scratch sound effect you hear when listening to the audio log.
  • 7. Aural Qualities I feel the my work sound great with a few adjustments needed but still great all the same. I feel it was creative enough to not be called the same of something else.one aspect of my products audio I quite like and am quite proud of is of the part when the oni agent play the recorded video of the flood attacking unsc forces which was a separate audio work I did in my spare time and I am really happy with how it cam out. However the thing I would improve on would be the voice acting. The way I would improve this is by having my voice actors recorded multiple readings of a line and use the one the fits best as so to replace some of the line the seem out of place. Strengths • A strength I feel my audio product had was in its story quality as I feel I manage to convey well the story I was trying to tell in my audio log through dialogue and sound effects. • Another strength I feel my audio product has was with the use of the sound effects to covey when the survivor slide over recording device over to the oni agent when oni agent 2 shoots the survivor with one second later the body hitting the floor these I feel play at the right time and convey the right event going on clear enough. • A final strength I feel my audio product is of the part where you hear the recording of a flood attack on unsc forces which I feel really give the audience a sense of my product being an audio log as it tells it’s own contained story but shows a greater narrative going on Weaknesses • A weakness I feel my work has is with how some line of characters are read as at two point a word in a sentence is skipped which breaks the flow of the narrative. • Another weakness I feel my work has is that at certain points in my work either the audio or sound effect has background noise or and echo which can seem very distracting for the listener as there isn’t much of a consistency in how something sounds with one sounding fine with no background sounds to having an echo or background noise. Key UNSC – human military Flood bio patristic life form or just space zombies
  • 8. Audience Appeal One way I have managed to appeal to my target audience is by sticking to the dark and dreary themes of the dark side of human nature which I had planned such as government cover up of incident that may have negative reproduction if it became common knowledge, this kind of theme is mostly enjoyed by Social consciousness type B which was the target audience I was aim to get my product out to. Another way I have managed to appeal to my target audience was by adding the audio which ties my product to the series halo which main target audience are 15-22 year old which is the part in the video in which we hear and audio recording of a fight with unsc and flood this allows my product to appeal to that audience of 15-22 year because it has a relation to a product they are investing in. A final way I am able to appeal to my target audience which is mostly men is by having my product show dark themes like death and government cover ups and the brutal nature of war and how no one is safe even children as there is a part within my product there Is a mention of covenant force killing everyone they see meaning this appeals to the target audience of men as men have a tendency of like story having dark narratives within them Key Covenant = an alien government hell bent on destroying humanity
  • 10. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? – Easy to understand what was going on. – Very good use of sound effect – I liked the part were an audio recording of a battle was taking place as it was well composed together. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – Oni agent 1 was clear enough to understand but the other characters seemed very quiet and hard to understand clearly
  • 11. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – Very good use of sound effect – I liked the part were an audio recording of a battle was taking place as it was well composed together. – The plot was very simple to understand. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – One character was clear enough to understand but the other characters seemed very quiet and hard to understand clearly
  • 12. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – There was a very good use of sound effects – The story was clearly told. – It was easy to hear and understand the character you were playing • What improvements could have been made to the product? – It was very hard to hear one of the characters – Also some line are miss read
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – That characters were hard to hear and understand. – Lines were sometimes miss read. – A very good use of sound effects. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – That the character I played was easy to understand.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary One change I would make to my product based on peer feedback would be to raise the volume of some of the character within my audio log so they are easier for my audience to hear and under stand. A second change I would make to my product based on peer feedback would be to have my voice actors rerecord some of their line and use those in the audio log so the audience isn’t brought out of the experience. With these two changes I believe my work would become better meaning it would be at a quality that both entertains and keeps the audience ingrained within the story.
