3. Research
• Strengths: With this product I felt the helped a lot to when it came to
actually doing the project. It helped because when I got stuck or thought
of more stuff to add I could go back to my research and it would help me
improve my work by reminding me what I need to do and to expand more
ideas to make my work the best it can be.
• The weaknesses to my work for this project is I found that with the
research it was hard to think of things to do, for example at the start when
you had to think of what you wanted to do it took me a while to think of
ideas and other ideas as well as you needed 3 ideas to then pick the one
you actually wanted to do.
• What I could of improved on for my product was to made the sound
effects better as they don’t sound amazing but I found it hard to find the
correct sound effect to fit my piece as YouTube didn’t have the best sound
effects. The effect it would have on my product is that it might sound a
little weird as it doesn’t really fit the best with my audio.
4. Planning
• The strengths to planning my product helped a lot because we did an experiment to
help us get the hang of how to work Premiere Pro when it came to our final audio
product. So when we were planning with what to do we knew exactly what to do as we
had a schedule.
• The weaknesses for planning for this product is that it could go wrong, for example with
me I couldn’t make it into college for one day when I had booked an audio recorder to
pick on that day which slowed me down a little as I didn’t have the equipment that I
needed to do the audio.
• What I could of done better with this product is maybe planned more for it to make
sure I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I could do that by really making sure I knew
what I wanted to do and get everything planned in time. This effect would of had on my
product a lot easier and quicker for me when it came to doing the product.
• Also with the panning we had to write a script which helped a lot to know what we had
to say and do for example my product is a review on the film Passengers so I had to
write enough to make it a review along with it being 3-5 minutes long. So writing what I
wanted to say helped when it came to actually recording it as I could practice before
and time it to make sure I had enough to say for the amount of minute we had to do.
5. Time Management
• The strengths to the time management is quite similar to what I said in the
last slide which is that I planned the schedule good as I knew when and
what to do on them days of it coming up to do my final product. Which
was good as I had that written down so I wouldn’t forget what I need to do
on a specific day.
• The weaknesses for time management was when it came to recording my
audio I didn’t have a audio recorder as I couldn’t make it in to get the
recorder I booked for that day which slowed me down. So had to wait till I
was next at college to collect it to then record it a home to then edit it and
get sound effects to it.
• I managed to finish my project in time for the deadline as I got it done the
next day when I got the audio recorder. If I had more time or managed to
record my work earlier I might of had more time to make the sound
effects sound better in the background which might of made it more
interesting to listen to.
6. Technical Qualities
The similarities to the existing product and mine is that
I find with the existing one has similar answers to it
with the positive side to it as we describe the ship.
Saying it looked cool as it rotating in space.
The differences to mine and the existing product is that
with the existing one it’s more negative about the film
as it talks more about how it’s quite bland which I
mentioned something similar to that as there were no
surprises however I did also say in mine that I enjoyed
it where with the existing one they didn't really enjoy it
a lot to what they wanted to.
7. Aural Qualities
• I think that talking part of my work is good as I think its very
descriptive and talks about everything about the film from going to
the characters to then going to the ship, music and the bits I
enjoyed so I think that it sounded interesting. Where with the
sound effects in the background I don’t practically think they sound
the best as I couldn’t find any good ones that fit the audio the best
this is because the ones on YouTube were too extreme for what I
wanted for my product. If I had more time I would of looked more
for sound effects that made the audio sound better but because
when I looked there weren’t a lot so I would have to try and think
of something else that sounds space based to make it work better
than the sound effect I have already. I do think that my work is
creative as its not just about one thing, it talks about multiple things
about the film making it more interesting to listen to which might
entertain the person listening.
8. Audience Appeal
I think I have appealed to my audience by it being 16 up as anyone can watch it if
they were interested in films that have to do with space involved. With the genders
because the characters in the film Passengers are Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence
their audience will bring them to watch it because they like that specific person also
because its about space, people who enjoy sci-fi films might be interested in the
film as well. The social status being B,C1,C2,D will mean that anyone can watch as
they are interesting in films like that.
The most specific bit of content that would appeal to my target audience might be
the actors as they are well known because of being in other popular films for
example with Chris Pratt he is in Jurassic World and Avengers: Infinity War and with
Jennifer Lawrence she is in The Hunger Games and X-Men: Days of Future Past
which are all popular films that people watch that will make people want to watch
Passengers because of the other films the actors have been in.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the film that you have chosen to produce your
review.
– I liked the spaceship sound effect in the background.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I liked the sound effect that you have used, but I think
in some part is a little bit quiet.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked how that it is very well spoken, and the
knowledge of the film in question.
– I also liked that the content of the review was
thought through and planned before hand.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I think that it didn’t need the opinion of the
reviewer as it did almost give away the film
anyway. (At least gave a warning).
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– The script is very intelligent.
– The sound affects at the end really added to the
emersion.
– The light hum all the way through really sounded
like you were in the ship.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– There was a little jump in the final edit.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree with it sounding intelligent and it being thought
through as my dad knew what to say.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
– I disagree with what feedback 2 says ‘I think that it didn’t
need the opinion of the reviewer as it did almost give away
the film anyway’ I disagree with this because I put at the
start warning spoilers which feedback 2 also said too so I
feel like if people got annoyed that I gave away the film we
made sure that it said warning at the starts so people
know straight away that there are some spoilers involved
in this review.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
• The changes I would make are to make one of the cuts
smoother as I agree with what they said as it has a jump to it
so I would try and make it flow better. I found it hard to make
it go with the rest of the audio as it wouldn’t let me cut
anymore as the bit I wanted to get rid of it wouldn’t cut out
the part I needed to not be there. I will also change the bit
where in feedback 1 when they said some bits with the sound
effect in the background is a little too quiet at some parts, so I
would make them bits louder so people will be able to hear it
better.
