Here we have the review series of the halo escalation
comic book series done by halo cannon in which the
review series has mostly the same structure for each
video, but some have small differences to others in
which the structure of the videos contain, an introduction
of the channel sometimes accompanied by a skit before
the channel intro plays about the comic, then moving
onto the brief introduction of the comic issue in which
halo cannon moves onto talking about the plot of the
comic whilst showing the issues comic panels and
discussing the art work and whither its good or bad,
certain plot points within the issue and the plot in
general but also pointing out some inconsistency’s in the
comic series relating to the continuity or cannon of the
mainline series, then moving onto the summary of the
review and whither the issues is good or bad and is

series
Here we have a review series of the anime Pokémon
journeys done by lumiose trainer zac in which each of
the episodes start with the title animation for the
channel then moving onto the introduction of the
reviewer and which episode is being reviewed, then
moving onto discussing the plot the episode and the
positive and short comings of the episodes and
sometime the battle that take place in the anime and
how exciting and entertain it is to watch then finishing
with a conclusion of general thoughts about the
episode such as whether the episode being reviewed
was good or bad character motivations or plot point in
the episode that work or don’t work for the series and
the giving it a 1-10 rating 1 being really bad, 5 being

review
Here we have a review series of the animated series if
star wars the clone wars done by hellogreedo in which
each of the episodes starts with an introduction of the
reviewers and episode being reviewed in which he
move onto discussing the plot of the episode during he
discusses what he liked about the episode and some
gripes he had about the episode and how well it works
he also bring ups inspirations the show uses for it
battles in which he then dos conclusion on that
episode then moves onto the next episode as he
review series videos usually cover 2-episode of each
arc the clone wars has in which he repeat the same
process of introducing the episode being reviewed,
discussing the plot of the episode whilst bringing up

review series
One part I will take from this review series and use in my own review series is
green screen as I will use it for my animations, I will use in my review series by
making an animation then have green screen background then over lay it over my
footage.
Another part I will take from this review series and use in my own review series is
the use of over laying separate mediums as I will record my avatar bobbing their
head up and down like their talking then over lay audio of myself talking over it
make it look like my avatar is talking
A final part I will take from this review series and use in my own review series is the
use of images of the series I am reviewing as it can help me avoid copyright claims
as using footage from Disney can be tricky and get you a copyright claim and have
your video taken down for showing footage of their shows even if it’s a few
seconds.

For this section of research, I will be looking at the reviews found in some magazines as reviews in a
magazine could be interpreted as a script for a video as your stating your opinions on a product just
like you would in a review video, so I want to see how the reviews are written out an if I can take
what I find in this written reviews and apply them to my scripts for my videos in my review series.
13. The day after (Movie Review: Spider-Man:
Homecoming)
Here we have a review of spiderman
homecoming done by the magazine the day
after in which the review go’s over the
background about the film and the premise of
the film before going into the main review in
which they discuses the plot in which they
mentions the pros and cons and do the same
for the cast of the film and how well they
portray the character they play such as tom
holland as the iconic spider man and Michael
Keaton as the vulture then mentioning the
supporting cast after which finishing with a
conclusion of the film as a whole. In which
we also can see a theme of structure as
review structures itself background, plot,
character, side characters, conclusion.
14. What I will take from this magazine review and use
in my project
What I am going to take from this magazine review and use in my project will
be the judgment on actors on how well they portray the character they act as
and the plot of each episode and how well its plot is entertaining and
represented.
However, another aspect of the magazine review I will use in my project is the
structure as I will structure my review as plot with judgments interjecting,
characters, and conclusion with score.
15. Electronic Gaming Monthly (Metal Gear Solid: the
Twin Snakes)
Here we have a review of Metal Gear Solid: the Twin Snakes done
by the magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly in which the review
goes over the background of the game with a quote from the creator
of the game being reviewed before moving onto the main review in
which it is a simple one sentence review in which the reviewer
judges how good the gameplay was and how good the story was
before mentioning some new features the game has before moving
onto some con about the game such as how some of the surprising
plot twist being seen before and how the graphic of the game aren't
as good.
Thou the review is short it still fulfils its task of judging a product as it
goes over the background of the product and what what matter most
in a video game, gameplay, story, new features the game presents
to player and graphics.
16. What I will take from this review and use in my own project is the simple and
short review of the product as whole as when I reach my final episode in the
review series, I will do a miniature review of the series as a whole, judging the
series on how well, it fits into the mythos of star wars, how well did the story
present its characters, was the story interesting and compelling, what did the
actors bring t the table for their character, does it respect the roots of the
franchise it is apart of and finally giving the series as a whole with it’s own
separate score.

17. Film Journal International (The Lord of the Rings:
The Return of the King)
Here we have a movie review of the lord of the rings: the return
of the king done by Film Journal International in which the
review begin with some background behind the film before
moving onto the introduction of the film being reviewed then
moving onto a summary of the plot then moving onto critiquing
the film with much of the review praising not only the film but its
director peter Jackson and the actors and how he has been
able to successfully adapt tolkins work from the page to the big
screen however there are moments were the review dose bring
up problems the film has that other may take issues with such
as the choppiness of the film or the multiple ending it give for
characters then finishing with a conclusion saying that the film
may be flawed but still end the franchise on a high note and it
will stand as a testament and standard for future blockbusters.
18. What I will take from this magazine review and use in my project is the
mention of the people behind the creation of the film and how well of a job
they did making that media product as for my review series I will mention dave
foloni and john faveuro and how well they’ve done making the Mandalorian
and how well it fit with George lucases vision but also how fans have felt about
star wars in recent years and how foloni and faveuro can help win fans back
after the sequel trilogy with the mandolorian

20. The completionist Mantra Jirard shirt design
Here we have a shirt design done by the
completionist a game reviewer in which his
design includes himself drawn in a simplistic
form in a meditative state with one hand open,
the other holding a game controller whilst his
beard is holding two controllers a handheld and
a game carriage with some consoles behind him
with and achievement symbol above him all of
this relate to his channel as the controllers
represent all the games, he's completed 100%
and reviews also the meditative state his in is a
play on what meditation is as it is meant to calm
your mind and video game can be relaxing so he
has combined the two into the design we see
21. The completionist Gotta Complete It! Shirt
design
Here we have another shirt design done by the
completionist in which It is a badly drawn and
simple image of himself which is intentional as
the shirt is meant to be comedic with the slogan
gotta complete it which is a play on an existing
joke in the gaming community as it is a reference
to a badly drawn image of sonic the hedgehog
who’s tag line is gotta go fast but also it is a joke
on himself as his reviews are weekly, so he must
complete the games he’s reviewing very fast to
meet his videos deadline for release.
22. The completionist Embrace Your Beard shirt
Here we have a third shirt design done by the
completionist in which he is drawn as an existing
character from the game series final fantasy which is
a nod to his thumbnails as in those, he represents the
main character the game revolves around and could
also be a nod to what game are meant to do as your
meant to immerse yourself in the game you play and
become the character you contorle.
23. What I have observed and found and will use in my
project
One aspect of the exiting products I have research and will use in my project is the
theme of the style for each of my merchandise as I will use a simple art style for the
image design on my merchandise.
Another aspect of the existing products I have researched and will use in my
project is by making an image that plays on and existing concept as I would take
the concept of Liverpool's you’ll never walk alone but make it never play alone with
an image of myself and a secondary character playing a game together.
A final aspect of the existing products I have researched and will use in my project
is by doing a design of myself as an exiting game character like Ezio from
assassins' creed (however this may be scraped)
24. Lumiosetrainer zac Satoshi-Gekkouga shirt
design
Here we have a shirt design done by the
channel lumiosetrainer zac in which the design
is of the ash greninja with kanji above it
translating to ash greninja which was a big part
of the kalos season of the Pokémon anime but
was later adopted by lumiosetrainer zac as a
part of his channel identity which is important for
a channels merchandise as it must represent
the theme of the channel the merchandise
relates too so since lumiosetrainer zacs theme
for his channel is Pokémon so his merchandise
will have design relating to Pokémon such as
ash greninja

Here we have another shirt design done by
lumiosetrainer zac in which the design is of the
title of his channel as it uses the same design,
he uses for his video introductions in which we
see each word uses a different font for each

merchandise as it must reflect the channel it
represents so it makes sense that
lumiosetrainer zac uses his channel title for his
merchandise as his title is eye catching and is
visual appealing to the viewer which can be
stated for all merchandise design as it has to be
eye catching and visually appealing.

Here we have a third shirt design done by
lumiosetrainers zac in which we have a design of
himself and his ash greninja in the let's go Pikachu
and eevee style with the subtitle lets go lumiosetainer
zac in the font style of the game underneath the
image design which is common occurrence for some
youtuber to release merchandise relating to a
released product as this design was made after the
games let go Pikachu and eevee which at the time
had been the current Pokémon game released at the
time as each respective game either had your partner
Pokémon a Pikachu or eevee with the text reflecting
that Pokémon so when he made his shirt design to
play off of the game since his partner Pokémon is a
greninja so he made his text reflect his partner
Pokémon with most of the text being blu with the o in

project
One aspect of the exiting products I have research and will use in my project is the
use of an exiting concept or character for a shirt design as for my merchandise I
want to use a braxin but I will also add some visual details to differentiate it from

project is using your channel name as a design, but I will use a logo for my
merchandise design instead of my channels name.

Here we have lumiosetrianer zac merchandise website in which he uses a public website know as tee
spring that some content creators go to place and sell their merchandise to their audience in which
we see his merch store has some artwork at the top to specify whose merch store this is and below it
is the merchandise in which we see each deign can be placed and sold on a men's shirt, a women's
shirt. A hoodie and a tank top we also see that the design and layout of the merch store is simple and
minimalistic with some art at the top and five rows of design and the price they cost to own options
with nothing else which works as when it come to merch store it doesn’t need to be fancy, you're
selling your products, so you just need a way t show who owns the website and what you are selling
on it

in my project
One aspect I have learned from my research and will use in my project is they
way I set my site out as I will have and art piece at the top to specify that it is
my merch store and have rows of different merch designs people can buy.
Another aspect I have learned from my research and will use in my project is
what the designs will be placed on as i may expand from just doing shirt
designs I might put them on a hoodie or a tank top or something else.
A final aspect I have learned form my research and will use in my project is to
have the price of the merch but also the name of it as well below each design
image of each product being sold on the website.

Here we have the merchandise store for the completionist in which we see that just like
lumiosetrainer zac he has his shirt design in a review with his company logo at the to specify who the
site belongs to but also, we see that there are different site sections for shirt but also, pins, frog in a
car, big bad bosses, digital game and live tours in which we see that he has a lot more merchandise
to sell to his audience which is thanks to his brand being bigger and being around longer so he can
sell more products to people but also due to the extensive amount of products there is a filtering
search system for people looking for a specific product.
32. What I have learned from my research and will use
in my project
One aspect I have learned from my research and will use in my project is that
if I do other pieces of merchandise other than clothing items, I may create
subsections on the web site for like badges or posters.
Another aspect I have learned from my research and will use in my project is
the way the product is organized on my merchandise site which will be left to
right left to right for each type of clothing my design will be printed on.
A final aspect I have learned from my research and will use in my project are
the title of product being sold from the types of clothing merch beign sold and
the name of the designs the clothing items show off.

The audience I am predicting to appeal to with my FMP are men usually
between the age of 18-40 as my main audience as my review series is
covering a product set within the star wars franchise which main audience is
usually men due to the series use of themes such as war, western, fantasy
and sci fi most of which who's main audience are men so logically the
audience my series will appeal to just with association to an exiting product is
men with a secondary being girls

and the result I got were that around nearly 83%
of my audience are girls making them my
primary audience whilst nearly 17% of my

affect my project isn’t by much as many girls are
getting into star wars and I am reviewing a piece
of star wars material so I won't have to change
what I review as it appeals to both my primary
and secondary audience however, I may focus
on a female t-shirt design for my merchandise.

questionnaire is that nearly 83% of my audience
are between the ages of 18-24 with nearly 17% of
my audience is between the ages of 25-34 which
means my primary audience are young adults with

project is that is that I will need to focus on
aspects of product that will appeal to young adults
but also consider what appeals to regular adults

secondary doesn't.

to this audience: how this will affect my project and
will appeal to my audience is that I will interject
comedic bits into my reviews but stick to the main
focus of the video reviewing and not add many
jokes too the point where it takes over the review
which will hopefully appease both audiences.

whether my audience who answer this questionnaire
is that 50% preferred a run time for a review to be 2
to 3 minuets long whereas nearly 17% preferred a
run time of 4 to 5 minuets with another nearly 17%
prefer a run time of 6 to 7 minuets with a final nearly
17% preferring a longer run time meaning my
primary audience is the people who preferred a 2 to
3 minutes run time with the other run time options
being my secondary audience
How this will affect my project and how I will appeal
to this audience: how this will affect my project is that
I will try to have my review run time to be around 2 to
3 minuets which will appeal to my primary audience.

that for each review will include a summary of the
plots of each episode which will also appeal to my

represents the review around 100% of my audience
wants to see a real person and 0% wanted to see
an online avatar as the face of the review.

to this audience: the way this will affect my project is
that I will need to show my face to my audience to
give my review series the face people will associate
it with however I will still be using my avatar as
when I introduce the review series, I will show my
face real face then when going into the review I will
switch to my avatar then when the review series is
coming to a conclusion I will switch back to my real

is that nearly 17% think an advertisement for
merchandise should be put at the start of the video
whereas nearly 33% feel an advertisement for

video and 50% think the advertisement should be at
the end of the video.

this audience: how this will affect my project is that I
will put the advertisement for my merchandise at the
end of my video as to appease to the vast majority
who think that the best place to put the advertisement.

whether my audience who answer this questionnaire is
that 50% prefer to have just the image of the shirt
design on its own with the other 50% wanting to see a
picture of someone wearing the design of the shirt
design this can be also applied to othe clothing
merchandise.
How this will affect my project and how I will appeal to
this audience: how this will affect my project is that
when I’m making my merchandise design ill have
image with just the shirt and other clothing items with
someone wearing the clothes with the design on which
will help it appeal to both audiences

Observation: : what can be observed form the result I
got from my questionnaire in this question about
whether my audience who answer this questionnaire
is that 50% would click on a thumbnail of an already
existing image for a video whereas an opposite 50%
would click on a newly created image for a video
How this will affect my project and how I will appeal
to this audience: how this will affect my project is that
I plan to use a newly created image as my video
thumbnail as prior to the project I had done a
thumbnail for the Mandalorian season 2 and will help
me save time on production allowing me to allocate
more time to product such as the video itself, the
merchandise designs or the merch website.

Observation: : what can be observed form the
result I got from my questionnaire in this question
about whether my audience who answer this
questionnaire is that nearly 33% think the
thumbnail should be used in the intro of the video
whereas nearly 67% think a thumbnail shouldn't be
used in the intro of the video.
How this will affect my project and how I will
appeal to this audience: this will affect my project
as I will not be doing an animated intro for each
video as It would take too long so in the review
series as I was planning on using the thumbnail as
the intro, so instead I’ll just get straight into the
episode with the introduction and move onto the
review.

What do you think makes a great review series: what I think makes a great
review series is one that informs its audience about a series of products like
a tv series and give us a basic summary of each episode plot then do
summary of what they thought about the episode from the plot to the
characters even giving each episode a rating of out of 10 and a reason why
for that rating.
What I can take from this interview: what I can take from this interview and
will need to use in my review series is that for my review series as stated by
the interviewee I will need to do a summary of the plot then do a
conclusionary review of what I though about the episode even giving it a
rating out of 10.

What do you think makes a great review series: what I think make a great review
series is one that informs its viewers with all they need to know about a product to
decide whether to buy the product or not but not too much information to ruin the
sense of discovery especially with a show review series and interjects humor here
and there to keep the review interesting.
What I can take from this interview: what I can take away from this review and will
need to use in my review series is to inform my viewers about the product but not
revealing everything about the product in the case I am doing a review of a tv
series, but I will also need to inject some humor here and there to keep my review
interesting.
49. Audience profile
When it comes to my audience from my questionnaire is that my primary
audience are girls ages 18-24 and an aspect of this demographic I will need
to keep in mind when making my product is that my product must be
educating and entertaining as to keep their attention as girls today as
specified by the site social toaster “30% of women refuse to read content
that doesn’t either entertain or inform” this logic can also be applied to
videos such as reviews so I will need to make sure my video series
entertain but also informs but also not to pander to old demographic ideas
about what women like so the aesthetic of my revie series can stay the
same.
