3. Research
Strengths
– This gave me an idea of how gaming podcasts are appealing to the modern audience
– This give me a better idea of how to structure a podcast
weaknesses
– You only see how everything turns out post production you don’t know how difficult it is
to get everything done and how hard it is to get everyone together.
This helped me get an idea of how to structure everything a way that is easy
to follow and easily consumable for the listener.
If I had more time I would of made a survey to find out what people like
about pod casts and how I would better mine to be engaging and
entertaining for the viewer
4. Planning
• Strengths
– Helped me get and ide of how long I should take on different parts of the project.
– This helps me get everything in effectively and with better quality so it doesn’t seem
rushed.
• Weaknesses
– even if you planed everything well a lot of things don’t go as planned like finding co-
hosts and you falling ill.
This helped me get each part of the project done in the correct time with the
best quality I could give it. If I had more time I would of tried to figure out as
much contingency plans a possible so my final product can be the best it can
be.
5. Time Management
• Strengths
– This helped me get most of the unit in on time with their best quality
– I was able to figure how much time I needed for each part of the project.
• Weaknesses
– this does not plan for if you fall ill which ended up bringing me a week behind schedule.
Most of my project I got done in time like the research and the planning but
because I fell ill for a week I ended up a week behind so I had to rush the
experiment and the pre production parts. This also made it harder for me to
find other co-host in time for the final week.
If I had not have fallen ill I would have made a better quality experiment and
the pre production I would also have gotten my co-hosts and been able to
record with them.
6. Technical Qualities
One main similarity is that like other pod casts I have heard they use and keep
to their topics as close to as possible. But other pod cast like EMP use better
quality microphones specifically XLR microphones over what I used which was
my Razor Nari headset. I also pit background music into mine while EMP does
not. EMP has all their host talking more confidently than I did on my own and
they made their topics more like a conversation over me who was just listing
off my thoughts of my topics.
7. Aural Qualities
Strengths
– You could hear what I was talking about
– The background was lowered to the point you could hear it but it was
not too loud that you could not under stand what the recording was
saying
Weakness
– The audio quality was not that good as the equipment I was using at
the time is not that good and there was white noise throughout the
podcast
– I did stutter in parts of it and it almost sounded like I was whispering in
others.
If I were to improve I would try and script it more so I don’t
stutter and try end get some co-hosts because then I will be able
to have a conversation about the topic. I would also try to have
better access to my equipment so the microphone quality is
better.
8. Audience Appeal
This would appeal to my audience to some extent as my audio quality's is
low but the background is enjoyable to hear and low enough to hear the
topics and what's being said. My dialogue sound off because I seem to bee
stuttering ins some parts and others I'm going ‘’er ‘’ or ‘’um’’ because im
trying to think of what so say next. The topic of when I was talking about
how you can vertically traverse through out the game using the cybernetics
called the mantis blades I sounded mor confident. The intro I used was
upbeat so that the listeners would want to listen the pod cast and the
outros is chill so it gives the listeners time to unwind.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– The music choices were good
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– The background music needs to be lowered
– try and aim for a theme to go for, preferably more entertainment
based that information based. that way you can add more sound
effects and play with it more without it sounding out of place
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like background and music also theme you talked
about
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Some parts I am unable to hear you
– Reduce the sound of the background music.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– the topic the information you got in there ect
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– he music at the start was a bit loud
– breathing in the mic is a small fault but you get it a
bit better by not breathing in it much
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– Id did breath into the microphone a bit
– The background music needed to be lowered
more
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
I would say not all of the music parts needed to
be lowered just some,
14. Peer Feedback Summary
• Based on my feed back I would make sure to use
a better mic because its quality was bad
• Record in a better location as it made the
recording sound like I was in a wind tunnel.
• speak more clearly into the microphone and try
not to breath into it so it does not make the
recording sound worse
• Try to lower the sound of the music in most areas
so the listener can hear the host more clearly.
