2. Front Cover Process
While I was making my front cover I was looking at
already made magazines that was on the topic of
sharks. I noticed that they would surround the
picture of the animal with the text so that you can
see the the shark in full view. This would capture
peoples attention to the magazine as people have
very strong feelings about sharks, so having a full on
picture of the shark will draw attention. Also having
red text wasn’t a very common thing in the
magazines so I have decided to use red text because
it stands out the most and shows danger which
people enjoy reading about. This could be a bad
thing to add though as people already think of
danger when a shark is involved which isn’t what I
would want to have as something to glorify. I used a
weird font as it made it look unique to other
magazines and I think it fits in well with the
magazine and I also made the key words bold so
that people can quickly look at the headlines and
make their decision on to buy it or not.

3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I am going to include the text around the picture of
my animal as people who are interested about that
certain animal will have their attention on it. Also
people having strong views on certain animals so even
a glimpse of the magazine could make them want to
buy it.
– I am also going to keep the bold text for my headlines
because this also draws attention to the magazine
because people wont have to take a long time to
make their mind up whether to buy the magazine or
not as they will see what contents will be inside.

4. Double Page Process
For my double page inside the magazine I
wanted to follow the style of a surfing
magazine that I have read before. This style is
having a picture for the background of both
pages so that the reader can see a picture of
the animal and the information at the same
time. This also stops the picture from having
to be cut, so you can fully see the animal in
their habitat. The line wouldn’t be in the
actual magazine if I were to make one, it is
just to show the separation of the pages. This
was easy to make as all I did was put a picture
for the background and put some information
over it.

5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will be doing the same style for the double
page because I like the simple and clean look
to the double page. I will most likely add some
more complexity to the page as I do feel like it
is a bit to simple for a magazine.
