A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2. Research
• The strengths of my research was that it helped me discover different
variants of magazines which allowed me to choose which style would be
the best choice for my magazine. Additionally my research helped me
discover variants of fonts to benefit my images. My research prevented
me from having thing to do loads tasks which would take up a lot of my
time.
• Weakness of my research would be how the information I was looking for
wasn’t as easy to find as I originally thought it would be. To improve my
research I would have to look further into what I could develop into a
more realistic magazine double page spread.
3. Planning
• The strength of my planning was that I had an idea already planted in my
head from the research and I wanted to try to expand on that this led to
me creating 2 ideas which had a mix of all the things I had learned. later
on in planning I could then decide on which I wanted to develop further
which would lead to be my end piece. this helped my product as I didn't
have to do loads of extra work I'm trying to find the perfect layout.
• The weaknesses of my planning were that because I already had an idea in
my head I wasn't trying to create different types of magazines I was
focused on one specific style. To improve my planning I believe I should
think about a variety of ways I could make a magazine and then expand on
them to find which would be the best to suit my theme.
4. Time Management
• I believe I did manage my time well since, I end up having everything
ready for deadlines unlike my passed projects. I believe my time in class
could be improved since I get distracted very easily from me surroundings.
if had more time to do my work I would make sure that everything leading
up to my project doesn't have a limit which would allow me to create a
variety of pieces which I could potentially implement within my project.
this could also potentially improve my grade as it shows the creativity and
potential the magazine could have if it was full.
5. Technical Qualities
Similarities: Similarities of the front cover would be how there is a main character in the
middle of the page and also the title of the magazine is placed behind the characters head.
the double page spread doesn't have many similarities just start it also positions it's text
around the images.
Differences: differences between the front covers would be that the existing product places
only text whilst I have also put images with my front cover on the sides, I've also placed my
barcode on the front which the existing product hasn‘t and I've also not got another image
behind my main character. the double page spread feels completely different as they have
used the first page to place a large image and the second to explain the things inside the
image, whilst I have made 4 different segments for my text with images representing them
in those areas.
6. Aesthetic Qualities
I believe my work looks good since I used a
variety of different techniques to create it
and used many techniques from existing
magazines. I do believe its creative since
the way I've placed the secondary pictures
is unique from my experience of looking at
of the magazines. yes pics of my magazine I
like would be the title and how it goes
perfectly behind the characters ears and
the title for the issue has the colour change
going throughout it using the colours from
the main character. things I would like to
improve would probably be the background
as it seems pretty bland and I think could
be improved quite a lot, the way I would
improve this would be by finding a piece of
scenery that would suit the main character
and makes sense if they were in that
scenario.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
In my opinion I feel my work doesn't look it's good as I originally planned since I've seen many
different magazines and mine seems too bland to work, I also feel it wasn't too creative since
to Maine feels like I've just placed a couple images in a bit of text onto a page and said done.
the only visuals like you like would be the separator for the artists and makers and the fonts
for the titles of those different categories.
Things I would like to improve
would be definitely the
background since I believe it looks
also bland similar to the front
page but also I would like to
improve the images on the way
they work with the text. I would
do this by getting rid of the
backgrounds for the images and
only using the characters within
them so then I could and develop
the text around them and make
some luck more appealing to look
at this also prevents the page
from looking too bland.
8. Audience Appeal
I believe I have appealed to my target audience since during research I asked many
members of the community I was doing my magazine on but they believe should be
inside. I've been worked on what they told me and tried to find the best look to the
magazine using the thoughts as a slight guideline. since this community is to accepting
I feel like they would love everything about the magazine since from reactions it
seems like nothing's wrong with the magazine when I can visually see there is, but
their opinion is probably best since it's about their community.
