Working Title:
Who Done It? (likely to change)
Audience:
The main audience for my video game is based towards to teenagers and most adults as it is a
murder mystery game that requires lateral thinking and memorising certain objects/sentences said
by other characters. The gender for my audience is aimed towards both males and females, of any
culture as it is a design your own avatar style of game to make your character either look like
yourself or anyone the game player decides to create, or they could select random avatar and play
with the computer generated one. Since my game would be a console game it would be more
aimed at ABC1 grade audiences as they would have to be able to afford to buy the game for
whatever games console they desire. If the game were going to be created in reality, it would be
like the Professor Layton, The Legend Of Zelda or Pokémon games where it would be part of a
series, with a slight storyline. The games would be created in episodes, so at the end of each
game it continues onto another the next episode, meaning the audience would have to buy the
next game (second Volume) to continue playing the series.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
This year I developed my editing and cutting skills on Photoshop and learnt how to cut out certain
images that I need and delete the rest. I also learnt how to create moving images via Photoshop
when first creating the Irn-Bru video games. I will now use the new skills I’ve developed to create
my new video game via Photoshop and convert it to a video to be able to add it to premier to
include sounds and music to it upon completion.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project concept is a Murder Mystery game where the murderer isn’t fully revealed until the end
of the series. At the end of each episode of my game there would be someone sent to jail for
suspected murder and it is the game players decision who gets sent down. At the end of the series
(there would be 5 or 6 in total) the game player would have to look at all the notes they collected
over the course of the other games with the other suspects and come to a conclusion as to who
the murder is. In order to make my game similar yet original I will research some already existing
murder mystery games or mystery games in general and make notes on good and bad points of
the games then try and develop the bad points to make them better to include into my own game.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I’m going to evaluate my game by comparing the existing other games and ask people what they
like about my game and what they don’t like so I can then develop those points to create a better
game. I will also try to broaden my Photoshop skills so I can make my game the best it can be
rather than just use the knowledge I have now; I will try and incorporate those new skills into all my
future work also.
