1. Proposal
Title: Going Vegan
Idea: I wanted to interview my mum about going vegan and
the effects that had on her diet, food she substituted, new
recipes she tried, new foods shed eat and how it taught her
about histamine intolerance.
Format & Content: At the start of the video I’d like to have
some quick fire questions, between 3 and 5, about veganism
and what it means to be vegan. The middle will include facts
about being vegan, why she’s happy for her children to have
different diets to her and explain the pros and cons of being
vegan i.e. looking on labels for certain ingredients. The
ending I would ask my mum to go into her self-diagnosis of
histamine intolerance, how she came to find out about it and
why it’s an issue (especially for a vegan).
Genre & Style: I’m aiming for my video to be factual, as well
as having a fun aspect to it, i.e. making it a cartoon animation
rather than documentary style. I’m hoping for it to be a little
comical, but put my point across enough for people to take it
seriously.
Audience: My audience is mainly based on people who want
to learn more about veganism, people who want tot urn
vegan or anyone who doesn’t grasp the concept of it.
Shooting of the Video: The video isn’t going to be shot via a
camera, rather created using cartoon sketches = voice-overs
and music/sound effects. I’ll need to go on Photoshop and
create some “characters”, I’d also Google some images that I
would also want to include; as well as taking my own
pictures.
2. Shot List:
Shot 1: A quick intro to the video - welcome screen, who the
video is by, the name of the interviewee and music credits.
Shot 2: Flash up of 3-5 facts about being vegan, the
interviewee’s voice being dubbed over each fact that comes
up.
Shot 3: Moving images (animation) of a story being shown
on screen, parts of the interview being played in the
background of this section.
Shot 4: Images of different foods flashing up on screen,
vegan ingredients listed at the side of them to show what
substitutes were used in order to create the food item.
Shot 5: I’d put up two columns; pros and cons list. Each
column taking in turns showing a different reason why you
should/shouldn’t be vegan, the interviewee’s voice being
played over for each fact that appears on screen.
Shot 6: I’d ask the interviewee how she found out about her
histamine intolerance and how that has affected her diet in a
bad way, i.e. what foods she has had to cut out and a little
about what foods contain histamine and what don’t. Within
this shot I will flash up carton images of the foods, with
smile/frown face regard what are the best foods to eat with
this intolerance.
