2. Tell me in no more than 30 words your initial
thoughts about your FMP? E.g. what would you
like to do, etc.
My main idea is to do a completed version of my original video game project. A
platformer with turn based RPG battles with a mystery behind it.
Why have you chosen this as your potential
project?
I chose this as my final project because I want to complete the game that I had
intended on creating originally. I also enjoy platformers and games that have some
elements of RPGs.
Who is the project for? Think about the intended
audience…basically, what’s the point of it/what is
its purpose?
My FMP is for players who enjoy solving puzzles within the game itself as well as
platforming and RPGs. The games main purpose is to give the player hints and clues to
solve and understand the mystery behind the game and characters.
What about your project makes it personal and
important to you?
I hate the idea of creating a game demo and not creating a full version of that game.
I’m not with Konami as they have created a video game demo then decided to not
create the full game.
Describe the tone/mood/style of your potential
product[s] [which techniques/characteristics are
you employing?]
The game is going to be light hearted for most of it unless the player fails to get to the
end of the level before the timer runs out which will cause the game to finish with
a dark and bloody game over.
Why have you decided to work in this
style/genre?
I chose to work in this style/genre because it is most accessible to most ages whilst
also having the mystery behind the game

3. Skills Audit
Name Harry Adkins-Pennington
Which is your area of
interest for your FMP
Video games mixed with trailers and teasers to keep the players interested; as well as leaving clues to a bigger
mystery behind the game.
If you had to choose
right now, what would
you make?
Provide some basic
details on the project,
style, format, etc.
A full version of my original video game project with full plat-forming and turn base RPG battles like I had
originally planned
I would have it be what I had planned for my video game project but add more detail to the background, improve
the animation add a story etc. In order to make the game better and improve my grades.
I would use trailers and teasers to keep the players interested in the game by hiding different messages and codes
for the player to find and discover.
I would also try to leave clues and secrets in the game files and the game itself for the player to discover.
What production
techniques most interest
you?
Using premiere pro for the transitions from the platforming sections to the RPG battles.
Using Photoshop to create the characters and levels using pixel art.
What are your
inspirations for your
project?
The idea of giving players a game demo and not releasing the full game for them soon afterwards really annoys
me.
Creating a video game that could get other people interested in making their own video games
The idea of creating a game that mixes different characters from different franchises
Some game developers, like Scott Cawthon, leaving mysteries in the games they make in order to keep players
interested in both the game(s) and the story behind them

5. Proposal
Working
Titles
Time Jumpers, Change the Future, Final Destination,The End of Time, Dimension Hoppers
Audience
16 to 19 year old males who watch YouTube, mostly Jacksepticeye, Markiplier and Pewdiepie, and enjoy a mix of retro and modern
games, characters and styles. I believe that my video gamewould suit this audience best becausethe mix of retro and modern games
would allow fans fromboth sides to havefun playing the game.
Rationale
I can createdifferentcharacters using pixel art in Photoshop and I can create my own music using Beep-box. Using the timeline section
in Photoshop, I can create smooth animations which can allow me to make smooth movement for walking and battling. I also have some
skills in coding and programming fromwhen I did computer science at Tadcaster Grammar School(I never thoughtI would reference
this hell hole again)
Project
Concept
My idea is that the player chooses one of three characters, Jack, Mark and Pewd's fromYouTube, and aretransported to an alternate
reality where a mixture of retro and modern media characters live in peace and harmony whereall of a sudden, the sky goes dark red
and blood seeps fromthe ground as everyoneis screaming and running froma demon, sonic.exe, this is wherethe firstlevel starts, with
one of the selected characters running down a straightpath as villagers are seen in the background running in the opposite direction
until the player confronts sonic.exe, which ends with Sonic.exe taunting the player and soon launching the player away to the second
level of the game wherethey will meet the real Sonic, mistaking him for Sonic.exeand starts the firstbattle with the player facing Sonic,
this is wherethe tutorial starts, showing the player each section and gives them a few tips on how to do well during the fight; there will
also be other tips when important events happen like when Vegeta and Goku join the fight, causing the player to learn how to fusethe
two characters during the fights, giving the players moreoptions for battling each opponent.
Evaluation During production,I will ask multiplepeople for feedback for different sections during productionso I can
improve the game over time and learn about what works well and what can be improved as I work on the
game and the designs for the game character and levels.
7. Mood Board Analysis
How does your mood board inspire your project?
• The range of different characters and games allow me to understand how I can
implement them into my final project
• The lines of code inspires me to either add some of my own programming into
the game or give hints to the player to look through the source code to find clues
behind the story of the game and the characters
• The pixel art of the characters inspires me to use my own art style to create the
characters for the game
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• The Five Nights at Freddy's teaser image influences how I will promote my video
game by hiding clues and hints in my promotional materials whether that will be
by hiding clues in the image that the player has to edit themselves or hide hints in
the images source code
• The Final Fantasy 7 screenshot influences how I am going to create the battles for
the game by showing me what I will need to use when creating the RPG battles
8. Key Influences-Scott Cawthon and Toby Fox
Discuss how and why they will influence your project
• Scott Cawthon influences how I will create mysteries behind my video game, similar
to his mysteries from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise
• Scott Cawthon always does what he can to keep the FNAF fanbase interestedand
engaged the story behind the games and that inspires me to do a similar thing in
order to keep the players interested
• I find the different ways Scott hides information and teasers really interesting as it
means the players have to dig through different areas like the source codes of the
images or by editing the images he releases to find clues
• Toby Foxes creative character and battle designs from Undertale I always found
clever and creative which helps me understand how to do my battles
• I thought that the pacifist and genocide runs from Undertale were a really creative
way for players to keep playing the game to find every possible ending in the game
and it inspires me to give multiple endings a try in my video game project
9. Key Influences-Nintendo
Discuss how and why they will influence your project
• Nintendo created the first video game platformer which gives me inspiration on
how I can create my own version of a platforming video game
• The wide range of colours and designs used in their games gives me inspiration
on how to design my levels and characters in my project
• The large range of characters used in the games that Nintendo creates gives me
plenty of ideas on what to create for my game, either brand new original
characters and levels
• Nintendo have occasionally hidden their own mysteries in their games which
inspires me to do the same thing because I enjoy giving players more reasons to
enjoy games
10. Key Influences-Akira Toriyama
Discuss how and why they will influence your project
• Akira Toriyama created the Dragon Ball franchise which gave me more than
enough unique and interesting characters to use for my video game
• Toriyama's characters and designs have been used to create multiple fan
animations and games so I can get inspiration on how to animate and design my
characters for my game
• I have always loved the designs and personalities of some of his creations and it
helps me understand how to write characters into games and other forms of
media
• The martial arts used in the Dragon Ball franchise helps me understand how each
character should look during battles and how they should move when either
exploring or fighting as I can look at different screenshots from the anime or
pages from the manga to see how each character moves and fights
