2. Audience Profile
• My target audience will probably 18+ because then I won’t have to worry about making
my game family friendly as I might make some of the cut scenes quite violent and some
of the themes may be inappropriate for younger audiences. However I doubt a game
like this would have a high age rating as the graphic won’t be particularly realistic.
• My game is likely to appeal more to males as it will be quite action packed and violent
which stereotypically appeals to a male audience. The protagonist is also a male.
• In terms NRS Social grades my game ABC1 but also a lot of C2DE because the game
wouldn’t be free but fairly cheap like a lot of independent games. The game could
possibly be played in an arcade meaning it would only be about 50p to play.
• My game would probably be best suited to the Psychographics group of Needs Driven
as the game mechanics are quite simple so it take much concentration to play and the
cut-scenes are quite short so the game is mostly gameplay will means the group is
easily and quickly satisfied. The will also be located in arcade which attract Needs
Driven as they are impulsive won’t want to miss out. The game will also appeal to the
group of Balanced as they main character is driven by individual gain but is also helping
people by killing the mob boss.
• The main gratification for the game is Entertainment as the puts player in a situation
that they will never be in which will be good for escapism. Due to violent and packed
nature of the nature it may be a good stress or aggression relief. As the game could be
in a arcade is will be linked with the Gratification of Social Interaction as others are
likely to be present when you are playing.
3. Style sheet
This will be my color scheme for my start screen and
First driving level. I have chosen quite bold colours
because as this is early on in the game I need to grab the audience’s attention quickly. I will also
Include different shades of these colours. The blue will be for the sky, the gray will be for road, th
orange will be for the desert, the yellow will be for the paint on the road and instructions, and
The black will be for the skyscraper in the distance, making it look ominous and challenging. The
driving levels will look similar to the image on right in the way they are laid out. The differences
are that the car would be much bigger, there would be a sky scraper the instead of those rocks,
and the road would be less wide.
4. Style Sheet
I will use either of these two colour schemes for the cut-scenes inside of the car.
I have used quite dull/dark colours to convey the protagonist's level headedness
and cold bloodedness.
At the begging of the beat them up level I will use dull colours to give the
area a gritty tone. Later in the level near the boss fight I will change the
colour scheme to bright complementary colours to a make the level more
intense and create suspense.
