Initial Plans

Initial Reaction
I think that the brief is good because most people whop play games are around the age of 16 – 19
so if I do the correct research then I could make a decent game, or a game that is similar to games
now. I think that I might make some type of shooter game for mobile because I feel as if there is a
lack of good shooter games on the app stores. Making a shooter game would also be easy as I
myself play a lot of shooter games. On the other hand, making a simple game like flappy bird or
angry birds might be a good idea because they are quick and addictive and appeal to my age
audience.

IDEA 3
Shooter game 3rd
person. Enemies
come in waves and
the player must kill a
certain amount of
enemies whilst
defending something
to get to the next
wave. The waves will
become
progressively harder.
Side scroller
game like
“Flappy Bird”
where the
player must tap
on the screen to
keep the avatar
going or they
die.
Side scroll driving game. The player must defend
the car from enemies. The player will control
the person defending the car and the car will
drive its self. It will be a level based game.

FINAL
IDEA
IDEA 1
(Side
Scroller)
The avatar will be
something simple
like a block or
sphere.
The player will have to
tap the screen to make
the avatar move.
The game will be in
levels with each
level getting harder.
The background will
have vibrant colours
so that the game
doesn’t look dull.
The player can unlock
more maps and different
avatars if they reach a
certain amount of special
objects
The player will be
able to collect
special items per
level to unlock new
items.
There will be
platforms that the
player has to jump
on and as it is a side
scroller, the player
will only have a
certain amount of
time to jump to the
next platform.

Mood Board
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
I have collected a range of images in my mood board to try and show what colours and fonts I will be using. I
have also retrieved images from other games that include sphere like avatars to show how mine could look. I
do not think there is any repetition within the images I have chosen but there are a couple similarities with the
fonts I have chosen as they are both quite futuristic. I have decided to use these futuristic fonts as I like the
idea of having a neon/futuristic looking game. This is because I can include vibrant colours if I decide to go
along with this theme. I have chosen examples of pixel art games so I can have an insight as to what my avatars
and the surroundings in the game will look like.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board will provide a small amount of influence to my game. My reasoning for this is that I want my
game to be fairly original so I don’t want to completely copy something from my mood board. I will obviously
refer to it but when I do I will try and make my own concept out of the image I have looked at.
