Pre proposal - FMP
1. This initial document provides you with an opportunity to reflect on, review and summarise
your progress and achievements through the first 7 units of the qualification and what you
plan to create in your final project. Think about what you know now, and what it means to
you, compared with what you knew and could do before you started the course, and how
this has influenced your choice of pathway and your FMP.

Why have youdecided to makeit? It’ssomethingI don’tfeel hasbeen done in this
sort of project and it ties in a little with what I
want to doat university i.e. analysingsonglyrics
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
As music is a big part of me as a person, it means
thatI get tochoose one of my favourite songsto
analyseand create a story roundthatI have hada
few ideas to do soover a long period of time. I
feel it is a goodway to have my ideas come to life
with the help of a songthat meansa lot to me as
a person.

idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
If the songI choose hasa musicvideo to it, I’ll
watch the video to see how they portray the song
on thatand decide what features id take from hat
to addinto my own film. If there is no music video
to go with the song, I’dhaveto analysethe lyrics
myself, andtell my own story based onwhat I’ve
read and what the writers of the songhavesaid
also.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
Dependingon what songgenre and style I choose,
I want to be able to provokesomeform of
emotionfrom viewers; thatbeing happiness,
sadness, tensionetc.
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
I’dwant to use a range of different camera shots
andchange to brightness/opacity of each shot
dependingon the characters moodand
personality, thishelping to tell the story of my
character/characters.

this style?
As it’s somethingI’vewanted todo for a longtime
andI’ve haddifferent ideas based ondifferent
songsandid like to bring theseideas (or at least
one of these ideas) tolife througha shortfilm.
