Documentary.
They have voice actors to tell the story of how Nintendo was built and
they are male. There are no sound effects and it was formal. When
they were talking, they were positive and clear so you could hear what
they were saying. The documentary is broke down into sections so
people know what is being talked about at a certain time placement.
There are a lot of pictures and videos playing while the man is talking
so they have an insight on the topic. This makes the audience
interested in the documentary because it has some information on
what it was like back in the day and how Nintendo came to be a
successful company like today. They add some type of cryptic music in
the background as they talk over the music.

Podcast.
This is the Nintendo Power podcast where they have held polls for the
public to vote for their favourite game for every different category.
There are timestamps for each category so you can skip to the section
that the audience want to listen to. The beginning has a jingle and
retro sound effects along with a mixture of male and female speakers.
The speakers seem very enthusiastic about the topic and are happy
about each of the nominees. The target audience is for both male and
female along with people who are into gaming towards the retro
genre. The use of this is to entertain people with the winners of each
category and to educate people with the details of why it was
nominated and won.

Peach
This podcast is about the game Super Princess Peach where they go in
depth about the game and it is very informal but very clear on what
they are talking about as they take turns speaking. The sound quality is
good and you can hear them clearly as they have the proper
equipment to record. There is a jingle near the beginning to indicate
that it is the start of the podcast. They start with a sponsored message
to announce where their money comes from. The speakers are all
male which shows that their main audience is male and old. The
purpose of this is to inform and educate people about the game and
how they thought about the game in a review. The podcast is 141 mins
long which is 2 hours and 35 minutes long. This is also targeted at fans
of Princess Peach so they can decide if they want to purchase the
game or not.

5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
They each have a jingle to the start of their podcasts along with their
thoughts and feelings with the game that they are reviewing. They
usually have time placements so people who are watching can skip to
the topic that they want to listen to. Also, they each inform, entertain
and educate the listener so that they know what the topic is about and
that they can decide on either to buy it or not. The ones that I
researched used informal language which means that they are very
free with their words and everyone is just having a chat about the
topic.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
I will use the jingle at the beginning of my own podcast by using some
catchy music from the YouTube audio library and some sound effects. I
will use some informal language so I can be chatty.
