For my front cover I used the aesthetic side of things to attract my audience on my
front cover. The programs I used to achieve this were Photoshop, this was because
I wanted to get certain effects to help bring out my images and text to make my
front cover stand out, an example is for my masthead on the front of my text, I
used a bling effect to add to the rap theme for my music magazine, for this I used
the effect stroke and the glass feature to change the effect and texture of the font.
This allowed the font to really pop out of the page and become really appealing to
my audience. For the colour scheme I tried to keep it classy using black and white
but then I thought it needed more colour to make my front cover look more
professional and to also make it stand out from any other magazine. The CVI that
I used in my opinion really did make my front cover stand out from the rest, using
the liquify tool on Photoshop I was able to emphasise my models muscles to make
him look more dominating and intimidating which is what I wanted. With
making my model looking this way I think it adds interest to my magazine, it
makes people want to read inside and get to know who this person is on my front
cover. Artists mentioned on my front cover are spin off versions of real artists
today, I think this also adds humour to my magazine which again makes my
magazine look more appealing and communicates with the audience, using these
certain things really does relate to my audience ages (young teens – 30 years of
age). The Masthead ‘Deckz’ is a word related to music, when DJ’s perform they
use decks to play their music on, so I used this ideas and turned it into a more rap
themed word. I think it’s an excellent name as it gives the person who looks at the
name a little insight on what genre my magazine is, this also helped emphasise my
model as the ‘Deckz’ font is in the theme of bling, the reason why it emphasises
my model is because my model is dressed in tracksuits and looks domineering
which is what the rap scene is all about.

3.  For my contents page I also used
Photoshop to create it, I used the layout
of NME because I think that they do
some very professional looking contents
pages, I used the different tools in
Photoshop to make sure I had correct
straight lines for alley's and columns.
This is shown in my production part of
my blog. The structure of my contents
page was created in Photoshop also
because the tools in Photoshop allowed
me to create an aesthetically pleasing
front page so I thought I could replicate
this onto my contents page. I included

I have used informal language on my Double Page Spread, my reasons for this is
because I wanted to carry on my rap theme throughout my whole magazine so I had to
use slang, swear words etc. to achieve this. Using language such as ‘’You get me’’ or
‘’Vexed’’ allowed me to achieve this, it also made my Double Page Spread more
appealing to my target audience. I think the use of these words and the type of
language will attract my audience to read onwards in my magazine and this is exactly
what I want. I think that the main image on my Double Page Spread works very well
with the writing next to it, I think the image gives the reader a small insight on what the
interview is about. The layout of my Double Page Spread is quite smart and
clear, similar to my contents page, this allows people to read through my Double Page
Spread easily.
