  – Group gets to know each other
  – Team members are polite, but do
    not trust each other yet
  – Members are still “strangers”

II. “Training Camp”


• STORMIMG
 – Chaotic environment
 – Members “test” one another
 – Members guard their own attitudes
 – May not yet accept others’ ideas
 – Leaders start to emerge

III. “Pre-Season”


• NORMING
 –   Members accept others’ styles
 –   Game plan is formed (Goals)
 –   Everyone becomes part of the team
 –   Other members’ viewpoints are
     accepted

IV. “The Season”



• PERFORMING
 – Team achieves goals and wins
   which proves they are meeting
   the team’s objectives

V. “End of Season”

• ADJOURNING
 – Team has achieved all or most goals
 – Objectives are evaluated
 – Changes are initiated
 – Team gets ready for “The Draft”
   • Prepare for new tasks
   • Gets new team members
   • Loses old team members (Free Agent)

  to your team
• Take an active role (contribute
  skills)
• Model appropriate behavior
• Leaders must be willing to share
  responsibility when needed

Just like our soldiers who
believe in the common goal
of freedom, team members
must share the same goals
for the team. This makes the
team stronger.

                                     Also known as commitment; members
•Dedication                          of a great team apply their time,
                                     attention, ability, and enthusiasm.
                                     They know others are counting on
                                     them and they don’t want to
                                     disappoint them.

 •Planning                        A great team plans their strategy which
                                  includes long-term and short-term goals.

                                                     They divide the duties and
                                                     responsibilities among the team
                                                     members in order to operate
                                                     more efficiently. Of course team
                                                     members ask their colleagues for
                                                     help if they need it.
