This document discusses maintaining low oxygen concentrations during open manway charging operations. It introduces the nitrogen purge hopper, an engineered control that applies inert gas at the point of use to reduce and maintain low oxygen concentrations. The purge hopper controls the addition rate, reduces time the manway is open, and controls dust and vapor, helping to safely inert the atmosphere during charging. Data shown illustrates how the purge hopper maintains oxygen levels below thresholds required by safety standards. The document concludes the purge hopper is an effective technology for inerting open vessels during charging operations.

IFP (CCR) Technology Optimization
In trying to determine the potential benefits from revamping a Fixed-bed Semi-Regenerative catalytic reformer, a refiner must evaluate several areas of operation:
— What is the unit operating objective?
— What degrees of freedom are available for revamp /optimization?
— Can refinery margins, and the discretionary capital budgeting program support the revamp / optimization?
Refiners must select the catalytic reformer operating point that will maximize profit within the following:
1) the mechanical constraints of the unit and
2) the short term unit operating objectives.
projects that improve operating profit are compared with the required capital investment.
This is done using discounted cash flow, or one of a number of other capital budgeting analysis tools, and those projects with the greatest return are put at the top of the capital budget list.

HT SHIFT REACTOR CATALYST SPECIFICATION
Process Specification
This process duty specification refers to a Syngas Conditioning Unit which utilizes HT Shift reaction technology on a slip stream of raw gas to produce a recombined gas stream with a H2:CO ratio of 1.57:1. This is an important consideration as the Shift reactor is not required to minimize CO at outlet, and this specification refers to the expected performance that can be achieved in a single stage reactor scheme.
The Syngas Conditioning Unit is part of a proposed coal-to-liquids complex in which synthesis gas is produced by gasification of coal for downstream processing in a Fischer Tropsch reactor and Hydrocracker unit.
If the material of liner changed with 2RE 69 or Duplex material instead of SS316(urea grade), then passivation air can be reduced, resulting the energy saving because the inerts vented from M.P section and loss of ammonia and problem of pollution. To enhance capacity and energy of the existing plant the internals like vortex mixture and HET may be changed the capacity may increase up to 10-15%.HET, you can changed with super cup.The CO2 and feed top of the vortex mixture nozzle and Ammonia plus carbamate feed from side of the vortex mixture. In the mixing area the initial dispersion of gas and formation of liquid – gas mixture are performed.
Flex Process led the design of a active pharmaceutical ingredient recovery process, saving ~£10m/y in lost product. The system used solvent extraction to recover the API from a very dilute solution.

40 cfr 261.4(b)(6) The RCRA Exclusion From Hazardous Waste for Trivalent Chro...Daniels Training Services
The Trivalent Chromium Wastes Exclusion from Regulation as a Hazardous Waste
40 CFR 261.4(b)(6) excludes Trivalent Chromium Waste, a solid waste, from regulation as a hazardous waste if the requirements of the regulations are met. This presentation briefly summarizes the requirements of this RCRA exclusion from regulation.
Those in the leather tanning industry, leather product manufacturing industry, shoe manufacturing industry, and titanium dioxide manufacturing industry should be aware of this RCRA exclusion and its possible impact on their operations.
Chromium is a metal that exists in several oxidation
• Chromium is a metal that exists in several oxidation or valence states, ranging from chromium (-II) to chromium (+VI).
• Chromium compounds are very stable in the trivalent state and occur naturally in this state in ores such as ferrochromite, or chromite ore.
• Chrome III is an essential nutrient for maintaining blood glucose levels
• The hexavalent, Cr(VI) or chromate, is the second most stable state. It rarely occurs naturally.
A SHORT REVIEW ON ALUMINIUM ANODIZING: AN ECO-FRIENDLY METAL FINISHING PROCESSJournal For Research
Protection of aluminium alloys is most commonly done by forming anodic films. Anodic films can also be formed on metals like titanium, zinc, magnesium, niobium, and tantalum. Aluminium alloy parts are anodized to greatly increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer for corrosion resistance. A thin aluminium oxide film, that seals the aluminium from further oxidation when it is exposed to air. The anodizing process increases the thickness of the oxidized surface. Anodizing is accomplished by immersing the aluminium into an acid electrolyte bath and passing an electric current through the medium. In an anodizing cell, the aluminium work piece is made the anode by connecting it to the positive terminal of a dc power supply and the cathode is connected to the negative terminal of the dc source. Sealing is needed to seal the pores in oxide layer to prevent further corrosion. Oxide layer on the anodized aluminium has a highly ordered, porous structure that allows for secondary processes such as dyeing, printing and sealing. Nanowires and nanotubes can be made by using the pores in the oxide layer as templates.

Air monitoring data at the water tower monitor (WTM) in Rhinelander, WI shows SO2 concentrations exceeding the 1-hour SO2 NAAQS and Expera Rhinelander Mill’s 63 m tall cyclone boiler stack is the primary contributor to the monitored exceedance. Making matters more complicated, the AERMOD predicted “design value” concentration at the WTM is in compliance and more than a factor of two lower than observations. Hence, a standard AERMOD modeling approach cannot be used to determine a compliance solution.
After investigating the building geometry, it was noticed that the 38 m high Boiler 7 building corner is directly upwind of the stack when the wind blows toward the WTM. This results in the formation of corner vortices that enhance building downwash, an effect that is not accounted for in AERMOD. To develop a compliance solution, a multi-phased approach was used. First, wind tunnel modeling was conducted to determine an EPA approved 90 m GEP stack height that is taller than the 75 m formula GEP stack height. Next, compliance at the 90 GEP stack height was assessed using two alternate methods. Method 1 employed an alternate model, HYWINMOD, a validated hybrid wind tunnel/numerical model. Method 2 utilized AERMOD in an approved non-standard manner. AERMOD was run without building downwash affects but the results were adjusted to account for building downwash affects using wind tunnel modeling. Both methods provided very similar and manageable compliance solutions.
Measuring Oil in Ammonia - OSS ClearShot TechnologyRoland Sirois
Measuring oil contamination in anhydrous ammonia can now be done quickly and accurately without the use of hazardous chemicals like hexane. OSS has developed a measurement system for oil contamination that allows small sample sizes and accurate results in minutes, saving your company time, money, and increasing safety for your employees. This green technology can be used in many applications, but this presentation demonstrates its use in ammonia as presented to the International Fertilizer Association, IFA.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
