Erik Erikson s Theory of Psychosocial Development
Psychoanalyst Erik Erikson s theory of psychosocial development explains how the human identity
develops and evolves in eight stages from birth to death. Each one occurs in a predetermined order;
the current stage builds upon the previous one and lays the groundwork for future stages (Wikimedia).
Each stage has a specific crisis or conflict, a turning point in the individual s life which must be
reconciled before moving on to the next. If the conflict is handled well, the individual gains ego
strength in the form of a corresponding virtue. If the conflict is handled poorly, the individual not only
fails to develop that virtue, but his/her ability to complete later stages is hindered resulting in
diminished ego quality or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I could see that I was spiraling into a deep depression, but I still cared enough to willingly relinquish
the job that I had worked so hard to achieve, thus giving up on the battle of generativity vs. stagnation
with neither a positive nor negative reconciliation. Rather than proceeding to the next stage, I was
pushed back to intimacy vs. isolation, only this time I chose isolation. Even while surrounded by
friends and family trying to console me, I had never felt more alone. I was surprised when their
sympathy turned into impatience. When it took more than a few weeks for me to get over it, I was
labeled a complainer. I quickly realized that no one truly understood what it was like to lose the one
person in their life whom they are closest to. I became socially withdrawn, only speaking to a select
few for fear of being an inconvenience. A few weeks later I was diagnosed with a rare neurological
disability, further perpetuating my isolation. Somehow, I ve convinced myself to pick up the pieces of
my shattered life and move on because I know deep down that s what Chad would have wanted me to
do. It s been over a year since the accident yet I still can t imagine myself remarrying or even dating
again. Unable to work, too young to be a widower, too hurt to start over; I m trapped between the
person society expects me to be and the person I have become. Writing this essay has helped me

Research Paper On Tobacco Kills
Tobacco Kills Tobacco use is the number one cause of disease, disability, and preventable death in the
United States. According to Tobacco Free Florida, more than 480,000 people die from tobacco
annually. Tobacco is a highly addictive vice. Users of tobacco consume the product in many ways, all
of them being negative and affecting the body in detrimental ways. Two primary ways to ingest
tobacco are inhaling the smoke or dipping, which is letting the tobacco sit in your lip. Neither of
which are good for the human body in any way. These facts are proven by scientific research and
studies that have been going on for decades by many different organizations. Smoking causes
coronary heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in the

Globalization of Non-Western Countries
As globalization continues to spread over the world, many countries are beginning to feel its effects.
One example is the auto industry. The automobile business is evolving rapidly on a worldwide basis.
Car and parts manufacturers are merging, component design and manufacture are now frequently
outsourced instead of being created in house, brands are changing and the giant automobile companies
are expanding deeper into providing financial services to car buyers. Meanwhile, all of the biggest,
most successful automobile industry firms have become totally global in nature. Globalization is in
evidence throughout the automobile industry. Mail order brides are also a good example of the impact
of globalization, by integrating more of Russian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The telecommunications industry in India has experienced dramatic growth in the last decade. In 1991
the number of telephone lines per 100 people was only 1. However, by the end of 2004 that number
had increased 9 times. Along with this, the telecom industry now provides employment to about two
million people. The industry turnover in this field expanding and is currently around $13 billion. The
U.S. mainly participates by selling equipment to Indian companies and by investing in such
companies. They also outsource many of thier tech support employment positions to India. India s
information technology and IT enabled services industry is a major force in India s booming economy,
achieving double digit growth rates and an industry revenue expected to top $28 billion. To add to this
growth, the Executive Committee on Information Technology works closely with NASSCOM, India s
largest software association to promote industry wide growth and market regulation. On another
technological path, the broadcasting entertainment industry is yet another booming industry among
those that make up India s economy. With over 100 million household televisions, and nearly 60% of
these households using cable or satellite TV, there are nearly 40,000 cable service providers in India.
The sector has benefited from a light regulatory system, even though this has also caused a great deal

The Southwest Blackout Of 2003
The Northeast blackout of 2003 was one of the most critical blackouts in the history which affected
more than 50 million people in both the United States and Canada. The main cause of this disaster was
a software bug in the energy management system used by FirstEnergy Corporation, located in Akron,
Ohio. This is a perfect example of poor quality coding may led to a big disaster. For a perfectly
planned power grid, the power generation of each region is matched with the power consumption
within this region, so that the power lines will always carry a reasonable workload. If one power line
fails to work, other parallel lines would have to carry extra power, which is bad for safety and may
lead to fire. The power system operators are the ones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And the generating plant don t know it either. Then, because the workload was assigned to other lines,
several other lines in the region also declined to work for self protection, and the whole Ohio and
Michigan got blackout short after. The company and other government departments noticed the
problem, but hardly have anything to do at the time. The cascading effect is already unstoppable. Each
generating plant can only separate their generators from the power grid to prevent the large current
destroy their generators. So almost all the generating plants in northeastern United States and Ontario
went offline, and the whole region got blackout. This happened in only 2 hours. Water pumps cannot
work without power supply, so some areas also have water supply problem. And other services like
public transportation (e.g. TTC streetcars), communication, and media (radio and TV stations) also
affected. Some areas recovered from the blackout the same night, but most areas did not get power
back until August 16th, two days after the accident. Both United States government and Canada
government were criticized, and they adopted some policy to prevent future blackouts after it.
Following the blackout, a thorough investigation of the energy control system was taken. GE s
developers looked through millions of lines of code and log to find the bug, and it them weeks to
finally locate the bug. The bug is known as a race condition in computer science,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Object Oriented Software...
In this report I m going to talk about object oriented software engineering approach and an agile
approach for software engineering. All software, particularly extensive bits of software created by a
large number of people, should be created utilizing some sort of approach. Indeed, even little bits of
software created by one person can be enhanced by remembering a methodology in mind. A
methodology is a deliberate method for doing things. It is a repeatable procedure that we can take after
from the soonest arranges of software advancement through to the support of an introduced
framework. And the procedure, a philosophy should determine what we re anticipated that would

Persistent coordinated effort all through the whole advancement cycle of your undertaking empowers
everybody included to develop a decent working relationship that will be founded on trust. This trust
based working relationship is essential when building programming incrementally.
DISADVANTAGES OF AGILE Difficult to assess the effort required at the beginning of the software
development life cycle A grievance I have regularly gotten notification from business pioneers and
venture directors alike is that contrasted with waterfall it is difficult to evaluate the aggregate exertion
and expense to convey an undertaking. On one hand I can see why they would think this, particularly
when they originate from a controlled waterfall process world. It is for sure harder to completely
measure to what extent the aggregate undertaking will take, yet the relief for this is components item

increase as testers required all the time instead of at the end Testing is incorporated all through the
lifecycle. This guarantees quality all through the project without the requirement for a protracted and

Finding Truth And Finding Peace
This past week we read some very different articles in terms of what they were witnesses to. To me a
witness is someone who tells a story in hopes of finding truth and finding peace. A witness mean
someone who is willing to listen to people tell theirs stories and continue to tell those stories when
other people are no longer able to. While visiting the Africa Burial Grounds going through the
different exhibits, I came across a quote that I believe describes in perfect detail what a witness is. I m
for truth no matter who tells it, I m for justice no matter who it is for or against. I m a human being
first and foremost, and as such I m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity (Malcolm X). I
believe that a witness s job is to tell the truth regardless of whom that truth will affect. We as people
have the obligation to other human beings to be just and tell their stories, and fight for them when they
are not able to. While visit the African Burial Grounds I considered my self to be witness what these
people went through. Throughout the museum there were different stories that depicted tremendous
suffering. There was a particular picture that stood out to me and it was of when African Americans
were taken from Africa to be transported to the United States. The picture showed African Americans
being thrown over board because they were dead, sick, or about to die. In that instance I considered
my self a witness because learning about the slave trade those details were

Humankind in The Three Forster Short Stories Essay
Humankind in The Three Forster Short Stories
Forster is writing in a time when society was changing dramatically. When rural life in the countryside
was leaving while urban life was starting. While this is happening mechanically it was also happening
in a mental aspect and the way people live and look at life is changing. What Forster sees is dangerous
results. He was probably writing in a time like the Industrial revolution when a lot of lives were taken
for the good of experimentation and knowledge. There was also a view of slave trade and sweatshops
for cheap labour as well as hiring children to risk their lives and go inside the machines to fix them
because only they could fit. Not to mention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only that in each of the stories humans don t even get close to nature so In The Story of Panic(
Past) The woods are empty. In The Curates friend (Present) The countryside is empty and everyone is
living in the cities and lastly in The Machine Stops( Future) The surface of The earth is empty and the
population are living underground relying on a machine which I will speak more about later.
Evaluating this we can see how our connection with nature is leaving slowly from the past to The
future, from the woods to the Surface of the earth.
As we know from the three short stories E. M. Forster is particularly keen on Greece and Italy. This a
major effect on Forsters view. He thinks of them as the creators of nature and the Gods. And as the
Gods created humans we can see where that leads. Researching Forster s life I found that that during
his life he had the freedom to travel a lot. He liked to travel to Greece and Italy in particular and this is
probably how he got his knowledge and passion for the two countries. As well as Italy and Greece he
travelled and lived in India for a little while. We can see how this reflects on Nature. As we know
India is a relatively poor country and they would not have the same urban life as England as well as
the technology, which England had.

Mobile Communication Is Multi Hop Ad Hoc Systems
INTRODUCTION: The Latest advances in Wireless Communications have extended conceivable
applications from straightforward voice services in early cell systems to new incorporated information
applications. These days, numerous up to date cellular telephones are likewise incorporated with
functionalities including FM radio, advanced camera, and MP3 player. Hence, the services upheld by
mobile communications have extended from basic voice to sight and sound, for example, video
conferencing and portable gaming. These new services require a higher service quality and also more
prominent information rate. Moreover, with mobile access to the Internet, the expanding development
in information movement will further drive the requirement for higher data transmission. Current
foundations that bolster mostly voice activity are confronting an incredible test in meeting both the
transmission capacity and quality of service requests of future mobile communication clients. For
mobile communication, one concept with successful improvement is customary single hop cell
frameworks where a mobile station (MS) speaks specifically with a base station (BS) [1]. Another idea
of mobile communication is multi hop ad hoc systems, which are infrastructure less, self sorting out
and quickly deployable with no site arranging, dissimilar to traditional cell systems. At the point when
associations need to move between heterogeneous systems for performance and high accessibility
reasons, consistent

Examples Of Honey Baby Sweetheart
Deb Caletti said in, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart I was like a chocolate in a box, looking well behaved
and perfect in place, all the while harboring a secret center. Facades are used in everyday life all
around you, but you never notice them. A prime example is my best friend. She acts rambunctious and
like her friends when she is around them. She basically abandons the way she was raised to fit in and
be popular. When she gets around her family she is the angel they raised. Facades are the worst lies
because they can be very easily shattered, are destructive, and can wrongfully take an opportunity
from another.
Like glass, facades can be very easily broken with even the smallest of fractures. An example of a
small fracture can be changing the way you speak or the way you dress. People pick up on the
smallest differences even the slightest things. After that small fracture come the shatter. Which brings
on an abundance more to deal with and clean up. After the shatter comes the hurt of others. Facades
are easily believed therefore when people see it was a lie they feel betrayed. Now that the façade is
shattered along with the trust of betrayed the mess is left to be cleaned up. As an example of trying to
clean up the mess author Stephanie Ericsson says in the essay The Ways We Lie ...I saw less than a
hundred bucks. ...I confronted him, he raised both eyebrows and tried to convince me that I d heard
him wrong (476). To attempt to undo the havoc caused one of two options are

The Death Of Andrew Dickinson And Andrew Jackson Kills
Jackson and Dickinson were rival horse breeders and southern plantation owners with a long standing
hatred of each other. Dickinson accused Jackson of reneging on a horse bet, calling Jackson a coward
and an equivocator. Dickinson also called Rachel Jackson a bigamist. (Rachel had married Jackson not
knowing her first husband had failed to finalize their divorce.) After the insult to Rachel and a
statement published in the National Review in which Dickinson called Jackson a worthless scoundrel
and, again, a coward, Jackson challenged Dickinson to a duel.
On May 30, 1806, Jackson and Dickinson met at Harrison s Mills on the Red River in Logan,
Kentucky. At the first signal from their seconds, Dickinson fired. Jackson received Dickinson s first
bullet in the chest next to his heart. Jackson put his hand over the wound to staunch the flow of blood
and stayed standing long enough to fire his gun. Dickinson s seconds claimed Jackson s first shot
misfired, which would have meant the duel was over, but, in a breach of etiquette, Jackson re cocked
the gun and shot again, this time killing his opponent. Although Jackson recovered, he suffered
chronic pain from the wound for the remainder of his life ( Andrew Jackson Kills ). Andrew Jackson
was well known for his hot temper and his reckless ways. He was an honorbound man who was quick
to take offence, especially with any slur against his wife, he was the beloved war hero, and the
common people s man. Born in March of 1767, he

The English Street Artist Banksy
The English street artist Banksy has produced various works of art, in a revolutionary style. Street art
is visual and it is produced in public areas on buildings, bridges , concrete , and many other places.
This form of art is usually done illegally, which adds to the immense controversy it already possesses,
due to its subject matter. With that being said, it speaks volumes about artists such as Banksy, who risk
criminal charges of vandalism, in order to empower others through his art. One of his popular pieces,
Looters , historically commemorated the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans,
boldly criticizing government, media, racism and other significant issues. In 2005, the city became a
war zone and many were left with questions; the image poetically raised awareness to aspects of post
Katrina recovery that are still being discussed till this day. For the short time it existed as an
untampered image on Elysian Fields Avenue, it managed to create a lasting impression that will exist
decades after its removal.
Due to Banksy s pictorial and satirical messages which blend themes of Capitalism, politics, greed,
and hypocrisy, an unknown identity is a great thing to have. In the early 1990s, Banksy began his
distinguished career; the fact that his identity has been successfully hidden for two decades
incorporates mystery into the art. He is undoubtedly the most controversial street artist to emerge on
the global stage, Banksy s work has been rumored to

kant Essay
Kants Critiques of Pure reason and Groundwork of the Metaphysics
Kant states that, In the order of time, therefore, we have no knowledge antecedent to experience, and
with experience all our knowledge begins, but although all of our knowledge begins with experience,
it does not follow that it all arises out of experience, (CPR,41). What he means is that we do not rely
on experience inorder to have knowledge, but knowledge and experience are connected for to have
knowledge we must begin with experience. There are four types of knowledge that Kant deduced. A
priori, which is knowledge that is independent of experience, knowledge which is always true, does
not rely on a person to experience it inorder for one to realize that it is true. A ... Show more content

Kant affirms that, Judgments of experience, as such, are one and all synthetic, (CPR, 49). This makes
sense because it would not make sense to found an analytic judgment on experience.
Kant thinks that the general problem of pure reason is contained in the question: How are apriori
synthetic judgments possible? Kant postulates that if he is able to figure out or understand the
conditions in which the sciences are possible to exist he can also figure out the conditions of which a
priori synthetic judgments can exist. Kant defines pure reason as, that which contains the principles
whereby we know anything absolutely a priori. Phenomena is an object as it is perceived by the
senses, as opposed to a noumena which is an object as it is in itself independent of the mind (the thing
in itself).
Rational beings may align their quot;will quot; either with the objective laws of reason and morality or
with subjective needs and interests. Reason s demands may be called quot;imperatives. quot;
quot;Hypothetical imperatives quot; command that a particular action is necessary as a means to some
purpose, such as the attainment of personal happiness. Categorical imperatives require that some
action is necessary in and of itself. Thus the categorical imperative may be formulated as follows: act
only in such a way that you could want the maxim of your action to become a universal law. This
statement can

was impossible to avoid all of catastrophes that took place in the past. Actually these incidents
approached today s airport security to perfection. Nowadays there are stringent rules regarding air
travelling. I. History of airports security
The only concern within aviation was the safety of flying. Hardly any thought was put into the
security sector of the aviation industry. This changed when Peruvian revolutionaries took over a Pan
American mail plane. In the period of time from 1930 to 1958, there was 23 hijackings reported. The
first serious incident happened in 1947 when the aircrew member was killed. In 1955, Jack Graham,
placed a bomb in his mother s luggage. The bomb exploded during the flight killing all aboard. A
similar incident took place in 1960, when two suicide bomber killed all people on a board. After these
acts luggage inspection has become more exact. The majority of hijackings were made due to either
escape from the USA or hold people for a ransom. In 1961, in order to prevent hijackings, the federal
government started using armed guards on chosen aircrafts. After hijackings of planes in 1969 the
Task Force on the Deterrence of Air Piracy was established by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Why Do Marine Animals Use Sign Language
Humans communicate by making sounds that are part of an entire language that can be spoken,
written, and read, using body language, and, in some cases, using sign language. Marine animals have
a slightly different approach, although they use sound to communicate as well. There are many things
that affect the messages marine animals send to each other. The main factors are the rate, pitch, and
structure of the sounds they make. Whales and dolphins can use echolocation to locate food and other
objects. Echolocation is the process in which an animal makes a sound and listens to see how long it
takes to make it be reflected back to them when it comes into contact with an object. This tells the
animals many things about the object, such as how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Salinity, temperature, and the depth of the water can affect the speed of sound in the ocean. The ways
in which humans and marine animals produce sound is very different. Humans produce sound by
expelling a lot of air over their vocal chords. Dolphins and other marine animals cannot afford to
waste such precious oxygen, so they have engineered other ways to accomplish this goal. Whales and
dolphins pass air through air sacs they have in their heads to produce noises. Some fish vibrate their
swim bladders, crustaceans close their claws at high speeds to make air bubbles that pop and produce
noise, and seals and sea lions move their larynx to produce growling sounds. Humans and marine
animals also hear noises differently. Humans can hear sounds when sound waves strike our ear drums,
causing bones in our ears to vibrate. This then makes the fluid in our inner ear vibrate, and vibrates the
hair cells as well. The hairs that are vibrating are connected to neurons that lead to the auditory nerve
and sends signals to our brain. Our brain then interprets the signals into information from the sound
waves. Dolphins and whales have a different process for interpreting sound. Their lower jaw, called a
mandible, carries sound to the bones in their middle ear and from there the vibrations follow the same
path as the human hearing

Pros And Cons Of Putin
In order to improve and conduct a nation, new reforms and new implementation are essential to be
addressed. Valdimir Putin, the current president of Russia, has diligently delegated and decided upon
many proposals, and therefore assured the safety of his people. Putin has considerably secured Russia
s stability by founding a family holiday, influencing a decrease in poverty, and deciding upon
opposing NATO. The president of Russia, Putin, has established a family holiday that promotes life
Russia s population loss to decrease. Families are being encouraged to get married, and
simultaneously help the population loss. In the following article A Holiday From Russia With Love,
by Sara Rhodin, this idea is asserted when Rhodin says, It was one of many events across Russia for

Jamila Wignot Triangle Fire
The Triangle fire was released in 2006, produced by Jamila Wignot. The triangle fire was the result of
dangerous work conditions, neglected safety features and locked doors within the factory building.
The film maker had an agenda of how the film was presented. Order was present in the movie. The
film was trying to tell the world that because of careless behavior a lot of people died for no reason.
The fire was the result of careless behavior that cost a lot of people their lives. The film as evidence
had people who lived during the tringle fire talk about how the experience was. Some survivors who

how accurate enough the film was. The film does

Goffman s Theory Of Social Stigma Essay
3. Theoretical Framework Erving Goffman s theory of social stigma (1963) will be used as a guideline
for the thesis and will act as a basis for further research on personal and perceived depression stigma.
Stigma is a deeply discrediting attribute which has a strong relationship to stereotype (Goffman, 1963)
Goffman defines stigma as a gap between virtual social identity and actual social identity and states
that stigmata are bodily signs which deviate from the norm (Goffman, 1963). According to him, three
different types of stigma exist: (1) physical deformities, (2) blemishes of individual character and (3)
tribal stigma. (1) Physical deformities: abominations of the body (2) Blemished of individual
character: weak will, domineering or unnatural passions, treacherous and rigid beliefs, dishonesty,
mental disorder, imprisonment, addiction, alcoholism, homosexuality, unemployment, suicidal
attempts, radical political behavior (3) Tribal stigma: race, nation, religion Furthermore, Goffman
introduces the reader to two main groups of characters in his logic: the normal and the stigmatized and
classifies the stigmatized again into the discredited and the discreditable. The discredited show an
obvious discrepancy between their actual and their virtual social identity, while the discreditable do
not immediately show their differentness. Additionally, the reader gets introduced to the terms (1)
social information, (2) symbols, (3) status symbols and (4) stigma symbols

identity that is universally accepted by most African American women (Harris Perry 184). This is the
cultural identity of the Strong Black Woman (SBW): self reliant, tough, and hardworking. Stuart Hall
defines cultural identities as, [A] sort of collective one true self , hiding inside the many other, more
superficial or artificially imposed selves , which many people shared history and ancestry hold in
common (Hall 223). SBW is a self construction manifested by black women in the Americas. It is
used a coping mechanism in response to pervasive sexism and racism. The SBW construct dates back
to slavery because the image projects traits of all three stereotypes established during the era of
slavery: She looks like the Mammy but is loyal to the black community; She does not require physical
and emotional security from men, thus, she resembles the Jezebel; She is angry, just like the Sapphire
(Harris Perry 187). This paper unveils the unfavorable impact of the Strong Black Woman (SBW)

private sphere, public sphere, and the health of black women. The paper also proposes

The Negative Aspects Of Social And Gender Inequality In...
Between 10,000 and 1,000 BCE, replacement and transition from hunter gathering, a nomadic lifestyle
to agriculture, a sedentary society took effect. Our antecedents made an pessimistic decision on
shifting to agriculture. Socially, change was seen through social and gender inequality which led to
problematic societies. Poor diets and the uprise of diseases contributed to the negative aspects of
agriculture.
Transition can be analyzed through specific events in history to manifest how agriculture was an
impoverished lifestyle due to social and gender inequality. The creation of social class was not the best
decision that helped rise and organize civilization like progressivists want us to believe. Agriculture
promoted social inequality by ranking citizens or residents of the area based on their living conditions
and their financial or economic situation.Through social classes, everyone was treated and approached
differently. In the early river valley civilizations between 1792 1750 BCE, a Babylonian King named
Hammurabi created a code of laws called The Hammurabi Code. This written code of law gave
different punishments to every social class. For instance, if an individual from a higher class has put
out an individual from the lower class eye, the individual from the higher class shall pay half its value
( law #199). Furthermore, as social classes started developing gender inequality arose. During the fifth
century BC, Ancient Athens created a new form of government

To this day, when I want to stop doing something that is difficult it s much easier to look back and say,

within a three month span in 1997 all from cutting weight (Litsky). Cutting weight is when someone
will try to drastically reduce their weight in a short period of time through a variety of methods. The
deaths of these three collegiate wrestlers resulted in a hasty decision from the NCAA in an attempt to
prevent any more injuries or deaths. An article by Terry Larimer on The Morning Call explains the
that policy banned the use of rubber suits and saunas for use in weight cutting practices because they
drastically increase body temperature and dehydration, which was the root cause for the deaths of
these three wrestlers (Larimer). Larimer also explains changes the NCAA made to the weight classes,
adding a seven pound weight allowance to all of the weight classes so that athletes would not have to
lose as much weight, with the stipulation that all weigh in times for competitions would be held 2
hours prior to the event rather than 24 hours (Larimer). This rule was enacted to discourage athletes
from cutting weight on the basis that with less recovery time, losing too much weight will not be

social media for academic practice in both traditional and distance learning formats; and (c) the pros
and cons of using social media for academic practice. Previous reviews of the literature have
suggested that access to technology is inequitable (Jackson, Ervin, Gardner, Schmitt, 2001; Morgan

opportunities to use social media tools than their white peers (Volman van Eck, 2001). As such, this
article reviews recent research on the use of technology and social media by students of color, and
potential inequities in the use of social media for academic practice. Social Media Use by Students

It was thought by some that the IRA wanted a major gun battle, although others thought that if similar
events to those that took place in Magilligan, London would be shamed and therefore it would seem
that the British paratroopers would want to hold their fire against the Catholic demonstrators. Another
stance is that the Catholics were simply holding another peaceful protest. About a week before Bloody
Sunday, a two hour gunfight to place at Forkhill in County Armagh between British troops and the
IRA. About 1000 shots were fired. Because of all the violence of the previous weeks, which was
blamed on the IRA, the Protestant unionists felt that a tougher approach must be made to stop further

Analyzing Aircraft in Alaska
Definition of terms
There are several terms that geeky airplane folks use when discussing the properties and merits of
airplanes. It is necessary to understand these terms when comparing airplanes. Some of the most
commonly used are gross weight, useful load, and payload. Gross weight is the maximum aircraft
weight when full with cargo and fuel. It can be dangerous to exceed gross weight because the airframe
might not be able to handle the extra weight. Useful load is how much weight can be put in the plane
including fuel. Payload is how much weight can be put in the plane after it is full of fuel.
Some common terms used in describing bush planes are stall speed, STOL, ground roll, take off
distance over 50 feet, and rate of climb. Stall speed is when the airplane stops producing enough lift to
fly, and the airplane stops flying. STOL is an acronym for Short Takeoff and Landing. Ground roll is
how many feet it takes for a plane to takeoff. Take off distance over 50 feet is how many feet it takes
for a plane to take off from being stopped to climb 50 feet in the air. Rate of climb is how many
vertical feet per minute, FPM, an airplane can climb.
Description of airplanes
The Piper Super Cub is one of the most popular aircraft in Alaska because it has STOL performance
and is a cheap plane to buy and fly. It is cheap enough for even private pilots to own. It can
accommodate only two people but

Two Teachers In Our Day Out By Willy Russell

Our Day Out is a written play by Willy Russell that reflects on the life the lower class of England live,

Law Of The Seas Memo
Law of the Seas Memo
Marine Langreney
History
The freedom of the seas doctrine was created in the 17th century as a means to control rights over
ocean space. The doctrine assigned national rights to areas controlled by limited belts, with the
remaining being assigned as a public space, free to all nations. By the mid 20th century, technology
became more advanced and the ocean s resources became vulnerable to the innovations. Rising
conflicts occurred over ocean reserves, from decreasing fish stocks to pollution left by long distance
boats and oil tankers. Tension was rising from Navies of powerful nations, and were now competing
for control over these resources. There was a clear demand for power and presence over marine
resources. Oceans were becoming a new area of conflict, and the freedom of the seas doctrine was too
outdated to keep up with these new troubles.
It wasn t until 1945, when President Harry Truman extended sovereignty over the entire continental
shelf extended from the United States, that other countries took note and followed. This was the first
instance where the freedom of seas was being challenged, and his success lead to many countries
claiming similar territories. Argentina was the first country to follow, and claimed its own continental
shelf along with the one that lay above. Chile, Peru and Ecuador followed, but had claimed a zone of
200 miles. This came out of fear for their decreasing fish stocks, as they wanted to limit the number of

Anemia is common among individuals with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection [1]. In
sub Saharan Africa, the prevalence of anemia is high people living with HIV are likely to be
malnourished, have low CD4 counts and have high rates of comorbidities such as tuberculosis and
malaria [2, 3] The presence of anemia predicts poor clinical outcomes like death, clinical progression
to AIDS, morbidity and a poor quality of life during the course of the HIV infection whether the
person is on ART or not [4, 5, 6]. Those who recover from the anemia have better clinical outcomes

For example, anemia caused by HIV and drug toxicity from antiretrovirals and prophylaxis such as
zidovudine and cotrimoxazole is important in people on ART in contrast to the general population and
those who are ART naïve. Therefore the approach to addressing anemia between these different groups
should be different.
As HIV/AIDS programs across sub Saharan Africa are maturing− more people are failing their first
line ART regimens and are requiring second line ART regimens− the programs should have strategies
in place to improve survival and to reduce morbidity while on ART [12]. In one part, these strategies
should identify those people at a greater risk of anemia during treatment.
We studied a cohort of Malawians on second line ART to describe the prevalence of anemia and
identify those individuals at risk of having anemia by assessing the prevalence, type and factors

Renewable Resources For Solar Energy
Solar Energy is something that the entire world relies on every day. Without energy, the earth would
be dark, and nothing will be able to operate. Lately, there has been many concerns with the various
types of resources that are used to generate energy. Many resources that are used are non renewable
resource. This means that the resources such as oil and coal are not grown or produced, they are found
in regions in specific sections of the world. These resources are also recognized as fossil fuels.
Researchers have been working for numerous years to find new ways to generate energy without using
these resources that cause issues for the environment. By using renewable sources such as the sun,
new ways to create energy have developed. Solar energy is energy that is created by the sunshine. This
sort of energy that derives from the sun can create electricity in households. With new emerging
technology, solar energy can perform different types of energy for diverse uses such as heating water
or generate electricity for a home. This alternative energy that goes beyond fossil fuels can be
extremely beneficial for the environment; However, there might be some downfalls for a consumer if
they needed to use solar energy to provide electricity.
The sun has been playing a very significant role for earth and humans. It has been the producer of
light and without it several things would not exist. Now another part that the sun is playing in
humanity is being a generator of energy. The

  • 2. Erik Erikson s Theory of Psychosocial Development Psychoanalyst Erik Erikson s theory of psychosocial development explains how the human identity develops and evolves in eight stages from birth to death. Each one occurs in a predetermined order; the current stage builds upon the previous one and lays the groundwork for future stages (Wikimedia). Each stage has a specific crisis or conflict, a turning point in the individual s life which must be reconciled before moving on to the next. If the conflict is handled well, the individual gains ego strength in the form of a corresponding virtue. If the conflict is handled poorly, the individual not only fails to develop that virtue, but his/her ability to complete later stages is hindered resulting in diminished ego quality or ... I could see that I was spiraling into a deep depression, but I still cared enough to willingly relinquish the job that I had worked so hard to achieve, thus giving up on the battle of generativity vs. stagnation with neither a positive nor negative reconciliation. Rather than proceeding to the next stage, I was pushed back to intimacy vs. isolation, only this time I chose isolation. Even while surrounded by friends and family trying to console me, I had never felt more alone. I was surprised when their sympathy turned into impatience. When it took more than a few weeks for me to get over it, I was labeled a complainer. I quickly realized that no one truly understood what it was like to lose the one person in their life whom they are closest to. I became socially withdrawn, only speaking to a select few for fear of being an inconvenience. A few weeks later I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disability, further perpetuating my isolation. Somehow, I ve convinced myself to pick up the pieces of my shattered life and move on because I know deep down that s what Chad would have wanted me to do. It s been over a year since the accident yet I still can t imagine myself remarrying or even dating again. Unable to work, too young to be a widower, too hurt to start over; I m trapped between the person society expects me to be and the person I have become. The telecommunications industry in India has experienced dramatic growth in the last decade. In 1991 the number of telephone lines per 100 people was only 1. • 5. The Southwest Blackout Of 2003 The Northeast blackout of 2003 was one of the most critical blackouts in the history which affected more than 50 million people in both the United States and Canada. The main cause of this disaster was a software bug in the energy management system used by FirstEnergy Corporation, located in Akron, Ohio. This is a perfect example of poor quality coding may led to a big disaster. For a perfectly planned power grid, the power generation of each region is matched with the power consumption within this region, so that the power lines will always carry a reasonable workload. If one power line fails to work, other parallel lines would have to carry extra power, which is bad for safety and may lead to fire. The power system operators are the ones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And the generating plant don t know it either. Then, because the workload was assigned to other lines, several other lines in the region also declined to work for self protection, and the whole Ohio and Michigan got blackout short after. The company and other government departments noticed the problem, but hardly have anything to do at the time. The cascading effect is already unstoppable. Each generating plant can only separate their generators from the power grid to prevent the large current destroy their generators. So almost all the generating plants in northeastern United States and Ontario went offline, and the whole region got blackout. This happened in only 2 hours. Water pumps cannot work without power supply, so some areas also have water supply problem. And other services like public transportation (e.g. TTC streetcars), communication, and media (radio and TV stations) also affected. Some areas recovered from the blackout the same night, but most areas did not get power back until August 16th, two days after the accident. Both United States government and Canada government were criticized, and they adopted some policy to prevent future blackouts after it. Following the blackout, a thorough investigation of the energy control system was taken. GE s developers looked through millions of lines of code and log to find the bug, and it them weeks to finally locate the bug. The bug is known as a race condition in computer science, ... • 7. Finding Truth And Finding Peace This past week we read some very different articles in terms of what they were witnesses to. To me a witness is someone who tells a story in hopes of finding truth and finding peace. A witness mean someone who is willing to listen to people tell theirs stories and continue to tell those stories when other people are no longer able to. While visiting the Africa Burial Grounds going through the different exhibits, I came across a quote that I believe describes in perfect detail what a witness is. I m for truth no matter who tells it, I m for justice no matter who it is for or against. I m a human being first and foremost, and as such I m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity (Malcolm X). I believe that a witness s job is to tell the truth regardless of whom that truth will affect. We as people have the obligation to other human beings to be just and tell their stories, and fight for them when they are not able to. While visit the African Burial Grounds I considered my self to be witness what these people went through. Throughout the museum there were different stories that depicted tremendous suffering. There was a particular picture that stood out to me and it was of when African Americans were taken from Africa to be transported to the United States. The picture showed African Americans being thrown over board because they were dead, sick, or about to die. In that instance I considered my self a witness because learning about the slave trade those details were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Humankind in The Three Forster Short Stories Essay Humankind in The Three Forster Short Stories Forster is writing in a time when society was changing dramatically. When rural life in the countryside was leaving while urban life was starting. While this is happening mechanically it was also happening in a mental aspect and the way people live and look at life is changing. What Forster sees is dangerous results. He was probably writing in a time like the Industrial revolution when a lot of lives were taken for the good of experimentation and knowledge. There was also a view of slave trade and sweatshops for cheap labour as well as hiring children to risk their lives and go inside the machines to fix them because only they could fit. Not to mention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only that in each of the stories humans don t even get close to nature so In The Story of Panic( Past) The woods are empty. In The Curates friend (Present) The countryside is empty and everyone is living in the cities and lastly in The Machine Stops( Future) The surface of The earth is empty and the population are living underground relying on a machine which I will speak more about later. Evaluating this we can see how our connection with nature is leaving slowly from the past to The future, from the woods to the Surface of the earth. As we know from the three short stories E. M. Forster is particularly keen on Greece and Italy. This a major effect on Forsters view. He thinks of them as the creators of nature and the Gods. And as the Gods created humans we can see where that leads. Researching Forster s life I found that that during his life he had the freedom to travel a lot. He liked to travel to Greece and Italy in particular and this is probably how he got his knowledge and passion for the two countries. As well as Italy and Greece he travelled and lived in India for a little while. We can see how this reflects on Nature. As we know India is a relatively poor country and they would not have the same urban life as England as well as the technology, which England had. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These days, numerous up to date cellular telephones are likewise incorporated with functionalities including FM radio, advanced camera, and MP3 player. Hence, the services upheld by mobile communications have extended from basic voice to sight and sound, for example, video conferencing and portable gaming. These new services require a higher service quality and also more prominent information rate. Moreover, with mobile access to the Internet, the expanding development in information movement will further drive the requirement for higher data transmission. Current foundations that bolster mostly voice activity are confronting an incredible test in meeting both the transmission capacity and quality of service requests of future mobile communication clients. For mobile communication, one concept with successful improvement is customary single hop cell frameworks where a mobile station (MS) speaks specifically with a base station (BS) [1]. Another idea of mobile communication is multi hop ad hoc systems, which are infrastructure less, self sorting out and quickly deployable with no site arranging, dissimilar to traditional cell systems. • 11. Examples Of Honey Baby Sweetheart Deb Caletti said in, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart I was like a chocolate in a box, looking well behaved and perfect in place, all the while harboring a secret center. Facades are used in everyday life all around you, but you never notice them. A prime example is my best friend. She acts rambunctious and like her friends when she is around them. She basically abandons the way she was raised to fit in and be popular. When she gets around her family she is the angel they raised. Facades are the worst lies because they can be very easily shattered, are destructive, and can wrongfully take an opportunity from another. Like glass, facades can be very easily broken with even the smallest of fractures. An example of a small fracture can be changing the way you speak or the way you dress. People pick up on the smallest differences even the slightest things. After that small fracture come the shatter. Which brings on an abundance more to deal with and clean up. After the shatter comes the hurt of others. Facades are easily believed therefore when people see it was a lie they feel betrayed. Now that the façade is shattered along with the trust of betrayed the mess is left to be cleaned up. As an example of trying to clean up the mess author Stephanie Ericsson says in the essay The Ways We Lie ...I saw less than a hundred bucks. ...I confronted him, he raised both eyebrows and tried to convince me that I d heard him wrong (476). • 12. The Death Of Andrew Dickinson And Andrew Jackson Kills Jackson and Dickinson were rival horse breeders and southern plantation owners with a long standing hatred of each other. Dickinson accused Jackson of reneging on a horse bet, calling Jackson a coward and an equivocator. Dickinson also called Rachel Jackson a bigamist. (Rachel had married Jackson not knowing her first husband had failed to finalize their divorce.) After the insult to Rachel and a statement published in the National Review in which Dickinson called Jackson a worthless scoundrel and, again, a coward, Jackson challenged Dickinson to a duel. On May 30, 1806, Jackson and Dickinson met at Harrison s Mills on the Red River in Logan, Kentucky. At the first signal from their seconds, Dickinson fired. Jackson received Dickinson s first bullet in the chest next to his heart. Jackson put his hand over the wound to staunch the flow of blood and stayed standing long enough to fire his gun. Dickinson s seconds claimed Jackson s first shot misfired, which would have meant the duel was over, but, in a breach of etiquette, Jackson re cocked the gun and shot again, this time killing his opponent. Although Jackson recovered, he suffered chronic pain from the wound for the remainder of his life ( Andrew Jackson Kills ). Andrew Jackson was well known for his hot temper and his reckless ways. He was an honorbound man who was quick to take offence, especially with any slur against his wife, he was the beloved war hero, and the common people s man. Born in March of 1767, he ... • 13. The English Street Artist Banksy The English street artist Banksy has produced various works of art, in a revolutionary style. Street art is visual and it is produced in public areas on buildings, bridges , concrete , and many other places. This form of art is usually done illegally, which adds to the immense controversy it already possesses, due to its subject matter. With that being said, it speaks volumes about artists such as Banksy, who risk criminal charges of vandalism, in order to empower others through his art. One of his popular pieces, Looters , historically commemorated the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, boldly criticizing government, media, racism and other significant issues. In 2005, the city became a war zone and many were left with questions; the image poetically raised awareness to aspects of post Katrina recovery that are still being discussed till this day. For the short time it existed as an untampered image on Elysian Fields Avenue, it managed to create a lasting impression that will exist decades after its removal. Due to Banksy s pictorial and satirical messages which blend themes of Capitalism, politics, greed, and hypocrisy, an unknown identity is a great thing to have. In the early 1990s, Banksy began his distinguished career; the fact that his identity has been successfully hidden for two decades incorporates mystery into the art. • 14. kant Essay Kants Critiques of Pure reason and Groundwork of the Metaphysics Kant states that, In the order of time, therefore, we have no knowledge antecedent to experience, and with experience all our knowledge begins, but although all of our knowledge begins with experience, it does not follow that it all arises out of experience, (CPR,41). What he means is that we do not rely on experience inorder to have knowledge, but knowledge and experience are connected for to have knowledge we must begin with experience. There are four types of knowledge that Kant deduced. A priori, which is knowledge that is independent of experience, knowledge which is always true, does not rely on a person to experience it inorder for one to realize that it is true. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kant affirms that, Judgments of experience, as such, are one and all synthetic, (CPR, 49). This makes sense because it would not make sense to found an analytic judgment on experience. Kant thinks that the general problem of pure reason is contained in the question: How are apriori synthetic judgments possible? Kant postulates that if he is able to figure out or understand the conditions in which the sciences are possible to exist he can also figure out the conditions of which a priori synthetic judgments can exist. Kant defines pure reason as, that which contains the principles whereby we know anything absolutely a priori. Phenomena is an object as it is perceived by the senses, as opposed to a noumena which is an object as it is in itself independent of the mind (the thing in itself). Rational beings may align their quot;will quot; either with the objective laws of reason and morality or with subjective needs and interests. Reason s demands may be called quot;imperatives. quot; quot;Hypothetical imperatives quot; command that a particular action is necessary as a means to some purpose, such as the attainment of personal happiness. Categorical imperatives require that some action is necessary in and of itself. Thus the categorical imperative may be formulated as follows: act only in such a way that you could want the maxim of your action to become a universal law. This statement can ... Why Do Marine Animals Use Sign Language Humans communicate by making sounds that are part of an entire language that can be spoken, written, and read, using body language, and, in some cases, using sign language. Marine animals have a slightly different approach, although they use sound to communicate as well. There are many things that affect the messages marine animals send to each other. The main factors are the rate, pitch, and structure of the sounds they make. Whales and dolphins can use echolocation to locate food and other objects. Echolocation is the process in which an animal makes a sound and listens to see how long it takes to make it be reflected back to them when it comes into contact with an object. Salinity, temperature, and the depth of the water can affect the speed of sound in the ocean. The ways in which humans and marine animals produce sound is very different. Humans produce sound by expelling a lot of air over their vocal chords. Dolphins and other marine animals cannot afford to waste such precious oxygen, so they have engineered other ways to accomplish this goal. Whales and dolphins pass air through air sacs they have in their heads to produce noises. Some fish vibrate their swim bladders, crustaceans close their claws at high speeds to make air bubbles that pop and produce noise, and seals and sea lions move their larynx to produce growling sounds. Humans and marine animals also hear noises differently. Humans can hear sounds when sound waves strike our ear drums, causing bones in our ears to vibrate. This then makes the fluid in our inner ear vibrate, and vibrates the hair cells as well. The hairs that are vibrating are connected to neurons that lead to the auditory nerve and sends signals to our brain. Our brain then interprets the signals into information from the sound waves. Dolphins and whales have a different process for interpreting sound. Their lower jaw, called a mandible, carries sound to the bones in their middle ear and from there the vibrations follow the same path as the human hearing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theoretical Framework Erving Goffman s theory of social stigma (1963) will be used as a guideline for the thesis and will act as a basis for further research on personal and perceived depression stigma. Stigma is a deeply discrediting attribute which has a strong relationship to stereotype (Goffman, 1963) Goffman defines stigma as a gap between virtual social identity and actual social identity and states that stigmata are bodily signs which deviate from the norm (Goffman, 1963). According to him, three different types of stigma exist: (1) physical deformities, (2) blemishes of individual character and (3) tribal stigma. (1) Physical deformities: abominations of the body (2) Blemished of individual character: weak will, domineering or unnatural passions, treacherous and rigid beliefs, dishonesty, mental disorder, imprisonment, addiction, alcoholism, homosexuality, unemployment, suicidal attempts, radical political behavior (3) Tribal stigma: race, nation, religion Furthermore, Goffman introduces the reader to two main groups of characters in his logic: the normal and the stigmatized and classifies the stigmatized again into the discredited and the discreditable. The discredited show an obvious discrepancy between their actual and their virtual social identity, while the discreditable do not immediately show their differentness. Between 10,000 and 1,000 BCE, replacement and transition from hunter gathering, a nomadic lifestyle to agriculture, a sedentary society took effect. Our antecedents made an pessimistic decision on shifting to agriculture. Socially, change was seen through social and gender inequality which led to problematic societies. Poor diets and the uprise of diseases contributed to the negative aspects of agriculture. Transition can be analyzed through specific events in history to manifest how agriculture was an impoverished lifestyle due to social and gender inequality. The creation of social class was not the best decision that helped rise and organize civilization like progressivists want us to believe. Agriculture promoted social inequality by ranking citizens or residents of the area based on their living conditions and their financial or economic situation.Through social classes, everyone was treated and approached differently. In the early river valley civilizations between 1792 1750 BCE, a Babylonian King named Hammurabi created a code of laws called The Hammurabi Code. This written code of law gave different punishments to every social class. For instance, if an individual from a higher class has put out an individual from the lower class eye, the individual from the higher class shall pay half its value ( law #199). The official statement released by the army and approved by Lieutenant General Sir Harry Tuzo stated that, ¡¥The paratroopers came under nail bomb attack and a fusillade of fifty to eighty rounds.¡¦ Although the statement simply offers the Paratroopers version of what happened, it simply cannot be trusted as it is undoubtedly ... • 33. Analyzing Aircraft in Alaska Definition of terms There are several terms that geeky airplane folks use when discussing the properties and merits of airplanes. It is necessary to understand these terms when comparing airplanes. Some of the most commonly used are gross weight, useful load, and payload. Gross weight is the maximum aircraft weight when full with cargo and fuel. It can be dangerous to exceed gross weight because the airframe might not be able to handle the extra weight. Useful load is how much weight can be put in the plane including fuel. Payload is how much weight can be put in the plane after it is full of fuel. Some common terms used in describing bush planes are stall speed, STOL, ground roll, take off distance over 50 feet, and rate of climb. Stall speed is when the airplane stops producing enough lift to fly, and the airplane stops flying. STOL is an acronym for Short Takeoff and Landing. Ground roll is how many feet it takes for a plane to takeoff. Take off distance over 50 feet is how many feet it takes for a plane to take off from being stopped to climb 50 feet in the air. Rate of climb is how many vertical feet per minute, FPM, an airplane can climb. Description of airplanes The Piper Super Cub is one of the most popular aircraft in Alaska because it has STOL performance and is a cheap plane to buy and fly. It is cheap enough for even private pilots to own. It can accommodate only two people but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Two Teachers In Our Day Out By Willy Russell Our Day out Our Day Out is a written play by Willy Russell that reflects on the life the lower class of England live, also addressing the progress class children that aren t given any chances to develop themselves and get a real shot at life. This is all represented through a day out. The play is dramatic and at times comedic. There are two teachers in the play, both with contrasting personalities,Mrs Kay a very lenient and kind teacher, and Mr.Briggs a firm, strict teacher. During this short essay I will be analysing and capturing memorable quotes to back up points and observations I have made from the play regarding the effectiveness of the two the two contradicting teachers. • 35. Law Of The Seas Memo Law of the Seas Memo Marine Langreney History The freedom of the seas doctrine was created in the 17th century as a means to control rights over ocean space. The doctrine assigned national rights to areas controlled by limited belts, with the remaining being assigned as a public space, free to all nations. By the mid 20th century, technology became more advanced and the ocean s resources became vulnerable to the innovations. Rising conflicts occurred over ocean reserves, from decreasing fish stocks to pollution left by long distance boats and oil tankers. Tension was rising from Navies of powerful nations, and were now competing for control over these resources. There was a clear demand for power and presence over marine resources. Oceans were becoming a new area of conflict, and the freedom of the seas doctrine was too outdated to keep up with these new troubles. It wasn t until 1945, when President Harry Truman extended sovereignty over the entire continental shelf extended from the United States, that other countries took note and followed. This was the first instance where the freedom of seas was being challenged, and his success lead to many countries claiming similar territories. Argentina was the first country to follow, and claimed its own continental shelf along with the one that lay above. Chile, Peru and Ecuador followed, but had claimed a zone of 200 miles. This came out of fear for their decreasing fish stocks, as they wanted to limit the number of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Anemia Is Common Among Individuals With Human... Anemia is common among individuals with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection [1]. In sub Saharan Africa, the prevalence of anemia is high people living with HIV are likely to be malnourished, have low CD4 counts and have high rates of comorbidities such as tuberculosis and malaria [2, 3] The presence of anemia predicts poor clinical outcomes like death, clinical progression to AIDS, morbidity and a poor quality of life during the course of the HIV infection whether the person is on ART or not [4, 5, 6]. Those who recover from the anemia have better clinical outcomes [7].Therefore reducing anemia is a key component of care in people living with HIV. Starting antiretroviral therapy (ART) improves hemoglobin levels and provides a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, anemia caused by HIV and drug toxicity from antiretrovirals and prophylaxis such as zidovudine and cotrimoxazole is important in people on ART in contrast to the general population and those who are ART naïve. Therefore the approach to addressing anemia between these different groups should be different. As HIV/AIDS programs across sub Saharan Africa are maturing− more people are failing their first line ART regimens and are requiring second line ART regimens− the programs should have strategies in place to improve survival and to reduce morbidity while on ART [12]. In one part, these strategies should identify those people at a greater risk of anemia during treatment. We studied a cohort of Malawians on second line ART to describe the prevalence of anemia and identify those individuals at risk of having anemia by assessing the prevalence, type and factors associated with anemia in an ART experienced population that had switched to second line ART following prior use of first line ART. METHODS Study setting We conducted a facility based cross sectional study at Lighthouse and Martin Preusse HIV clinics in Lilongwe, Malawi. Between these clinics 25,000 individuals are registered for care. The two clinics provide both first line and second line ART ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Renewable Resources For Solar Energy Solar Energy is something that the entire world relies on every day. Without energy, the earth would be dark, and nothing will be able to operate. Lately, there has been many concerns with the various types of resources that are used to generate energy. Many resources that are used are non renewable resource. This means that the resources such as oil and coal are not grown or produced, they are found in regions in specific sections of the world. These resources are also recognized as fossil fuels. Researchers have been working for numerous years to find new ways to generate energy without using these resources that cause issues for the environment. By using renewable sources such as the sun, new ways to create energy have developed. Solar energy is energy that is created by the sunshine. This sort of energy that derives from the sun can create electricity in households. With new emerging technology, solar energy can perform different types of energy for diverse uses such as heating water or generate electricity for a home. This alternative energy that goes beyond fossil fuels can be extremely beneficial for the environment; However, there might be some downfalls for a consumer if they needed to use solar energy to provide electricity. The sun has been playing a very significant role for earth and humans. It has been the producer of light and without it several things would not exist. • 40. Nt1310 Unit 7 Journal Entry First, I would like to apologize for being late. It was entirely my fault, I had confused the 2:30 NSA presentation as being the one I was supposed to write the report on, and I am truly sorry for causing you and/or Columbus State as a whole any embarrassment in front of the FBI. When I arrived, David had just begun about bitcoins and then later moved on into the deep web with a focus on a website called The Silk Road. From this, I am assuming that what I had missed in the beginning was related to these two things, meaning that the presentation as a whole focused on internet activity. To start off with bitcoins, this was the more interesting talk to me and I feel very lucky to have caught it in time. While I did not learn as much as I did the later part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... David s explanation helped to clear all this up for me, and while I acknowledge there is much more to learn, I feel like he has given me a stepping stone to go and understand the rest on my own. What I gathered from him was that the bitcoins are mined through dedicated systems working to solve complex math problems. From my past experience I know that these problems are generated by collecting all pending bitcoin transactions and transforming them into a massive puzzle. What I did not know was that these puzzles were generated every ten minutes, with the reward for solving each puzzle being twenty five bitcoins. I found this time based system to be interesting as I would have expected it to be a transaction based system. For example, every one hundred transactions, or however many is necessary to maintain balance, would be transformed into puzzle, instead of it just being however many are collected in ten minutes. I also did not realize just how competitive bitcoin mining had become. Between the student s comment on his experience attempting to mine a bitcoin and David s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
