The Aging Process Essay
Humanity has come a long way as we evolve and adapt to the changing environment. Through the
years, we have managed to overcome several limitations, which in the past were nothing more than
dreams. We succeeded in landing on the moon and communicating over long distance, yet there are
still some boundaries we have yet to cross despite our best effort. Aging is an inevitable process of
nature. While we cannot stop the ticking clock in our body, we have made it possible for aging to be
delayed and relieved to a great extent through advance technology and modern governance. High tech
equipments and medications are available for the treatments of more illnesses as our understanding of
medicine improves and governments nowadays are doing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this group of people, most governments intervene to help to subsidise for treatments they
genuinely need.
Modern governments promise old age security, which ensures that their citizens can fend for
themselves during old age. The approaches, however, may vary from society to society. In some like
The United Kingdom and Canada, government pensions are distributed to the elderly. In some others
such as Singapore, the people are compelled to provide in advance for their old age dependency. Some
societies have laws in place to enforce children to take care of elderly parents. For example, in
Singapore, elderly parents may file in to the court if their children do not provide for them. However,
there are various financial concerns about these methods. In the case of government pensions, the
heavy spending of public fund on the old aged may take a toll on other areas of the nation s
development. Thus a method that works in a society may not work in another and sometimes, multiple
approaches have to be taken.
However, better healthcare and protection from government result in rising age expectancy, which is a
double edged sword as on one hand, people live longer as shown in report (Friedland and Summer,
2005, Fig 1 2) and on the other hand, the proportion of aging population increases if the younger
generation are not reproducing enough, and this is exactly the trend now in developed nations. In the

Summary Of The Devil In The White City
The Devil in the White City
The Devil in The White City starts out by naming all the characters. It also talks about a world fair
that is going to take place in the United States. They didn t know what city to host the fair with, so
they already had their cities then they had an election. With Chicago being bigger than Philadelphia it
came down between New York and Chicago. They had another election day for it, and Chicago upset
New York.
Everybody was excited for Chicago. But Chicago had a lot of work to do. So, they had to get a
landscape architect, and had to get a lot of construction workers moving. Once they started that they
had to pick a park to have the fair in. They wanted to build more skyscrapers to make the city look
bigger. Large numbers of rich citizens tried to build the buildings but they weren t building but 2 3 of
them.
As tensions rose in Chicago. The plan of the fair got more complicated. Burnham and Root continued
to get their jobs finished before people from foreign countries arrive. It took longer for them to build
with technology of 1893. Burnham who was the lead architect and Root another architect. Are
working together to finish the fair project.
Which they both said that the fair is the biggest project they`ll ever have . The murders mostly took
place in Chicago but the book says they were occasional lurch across state line it says that on page xi.
One other thing about the book is the architects from the fair. One is from New York and one is from
Chicago. But they said they were tied together . They both talk about marrying beautiful women and
having children. And both of their offices are facing south.
The books time line last 1890 1893. And covers the struggles of Daniel Burnham and John Root. They
worked hard on trying to get the world fair landscaping done and make the fair
perfect. And give The United States of America a good name. Because at the beginning of the book
the United States wanted to beat France`s World Fair. America wanted to be at top of everything. The
murder in the book tricked people into the murder castle and kill them. For people to be from a
different country they wouldn t know about everything in the United States.

1. Project summary
1.1 Aim of the project
The aim of the project is to develop a user friendly Android™ application which is able to track the
users workout, gives feedback in form of statistics and shows a log of previously completed workouts.
With additional compatibility for previous versions, the application will be created on the latest
version of the Android™ Package Index.
Developed will the application be in JAVA which is the primary language used to program Android™
applications.

For every technology which is used within the application a prototype is going to be built to become
familiar using the technology. Since the prototypes are only used to work with the technology and to
test some situations, these prototypes do not have a user friendly and well designed interface
implemented.
At the end of each section, the impact on the methodology, specification and planning is discussed.
Additionally the time which was needed to lower the probability of the risk is going to be compared to
the estimated time which was declared in the Project Definition Report.
The source code for every application with additional explanations is available within the appendices.
2. Risk 1 Unable to create a database design/structure
The implementation of a database is one of the most important features for the application because
many features depend on the values which are stored in the database or depend on storing values
within the database. This is why the impact of the risk on the success of the application is declared as
high.
Becoming familiar using the SQLite API for Android™ is the purpose of the sample application which
was created to lower the probability of the risk. Using methods to insert data into the database and to
get all information out of the database was the purpose of the sample application.
The sample application which was created stores a name and a number for each person within a
database. Users of the application have the

Corporate Social Responsibility Report
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
Although corporate social responsibility has no universal definition, it is understood to be the way
firms integrate social, environmental and economic concerns into their values, culture, decision
making, strategy and operations in a transparent and accountable manner and thereby establish better
practices within the firm, create wealth and improve society. (Industry Canada, 2011) This report will
represent the critical analysis of the current Corporate Social Responsibility practices of Air Canada
followed by recommendations for improvement.

Although it appears as if Air Canada is selflessly attempting to make the game of hockey a safer sport,
one may question if they are capable of making the rules of a professional sport which has nothing to
do with their core business. Many companies, in an attempt to save face in the public s eye, have
exercised their power to make decisions regarding matters that they have no knowledge or expertise
in. I believe Air Canada has an underlying motive of attempting to increase profitability by appearing
to society as an organization that does not tolerate or condone actions that are frowned upon by
society. Furthermore, Air Canada s headquarters are in Montreal which is the same location of the
aforementioned incident and may represent a conflict of interest.
Another pressing concern in the news headlines recently has been the unfair labour practice complaint
filed by Air Canada against the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) over the collective

Tumor Hypoxia Essay
Tumor hypoxia, a Common feature in 90% solid tumors like HCC is intricately associated with more
malignancy, therapeutic resistance and poor patient survival 4. In order to survive under such reduced
oxygen concentration, tumor cell adapts some transcriptional expression where Hypoxia inducible
factor (HIF) is a key transcriptional factor 31.
HIF transcription factors (HIF 1 and HIF 2) act as heterodimers comprising an alpha and beta subunit.
Under normoxic condition alpha subunit is unstable due to proteasomal degradation. But under
hypoxia, stable alpha subunit moves to nucleus to dimerize with beta subunit. In cooperation with
transcriptional coactivators this HIF heterodimer binds with hypoxia response element (HRE) and
induces transcription of more than 60 HIF targeted gene. Regulation of these genes ... Show more

Increased expression of angiogenesis marker, VEGF and metastasis marker, MMP 2 are associated
with increased HIF 1α in HCC patient with lymph node metastasis (LNM) 34 where knockdown of
HIF 1α repressed both VEGF and MMP 2 resulting decreased angiogenesis and metastasis
respectively 35. HIF 1α is also involved in the regulation of gene expression during inflammation. Xia
and coworkers demonstrated that by the induction of tumor necrosis factor α (TNF α), HIF 1α directly
binds with Forkhead box M1 (FoxM1) promoter which is a proliferation specific transcription factor
and subsequently promote HCC cell proliferation with apoptosis resistance 33. HIF 1α stabilization
also fuels hypoxic solid tumor with survival potential through glycolysis by upregulating many
enzymes of glycolysis pathway. For instance, Hypoxia stimulates HCC cellular growth through HIF
1α dependent induction of hexokinase 2 (HK2) enzyme. Inhibiting HK2 expression in a murine HCC

The Turn Of The Screw Ghost Essay
The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James, is ghost story that focuses on a young governess that
encounters a pair of ghosts. These ghosts play an important role in the story, but there has always been
a debate over whether the ghosts exist inside the story, or if they exist only in the governess head.
There is evidence within the book to support either claim, so the reality of the apparitions ultimately
depends on the reader s opinion. This paper will support the opinion that the two ghosts that the
governess sees are ultimately just figments of her imagination. Even though the governess ghosts are
not real, she believes them to be real, and her reaction to this belief precipitates the unfortunate
conclusion. The Turn of the Screw is a ghost story, but the real ghosts in the book are mostly ignored,
which is not uncommon in literature, and examples of ignored ghosts can be found in other works as
well.
The two ghosts in The Turn of the Screw are ultimately just figments of the governess imagination,
due in part to her high emotional state. She is starting a new job, charged with the care of two
children, and the desire to do well in her new capacity helps to create this emotional state. Not long ...

What Is The Similarities And Differences Of The Edict Of...
In February 313 AD, the Roman emperors Constantine I and Licinius issued the Edict of Milan. The
edict proclaimed that people were free to practice any religion of their choosing within the Roman
empire. Additionally, the edict had a provision specifically for Christians they were to get back any
and all property that was confiscated from them, including church property.
Constantine and Licinius believed that all religions should be permitted because it was better to have
the favorability of all deities instead of only one. By allowing all religions, these emperors believed
they would have at least some favorability from these deities. Additionally, the edict favored
Christianity due to the apparent bias of Constantine. Constantine believed ... Show more content on

Firstly, the authors of the two documents are very different people. The edict was written by
Constantine and Licinius, two Roman emperors who lived in the 200 s 300 s AD. These emperors led
a very different life compared to the author of the essay, a man name John R. Knipfing, who lived in
the 1800 s 1900 s AD. While the emperors ruled large areas of land, Knipfing studied history, wrote
essays, and taught classes at Ohio State University, where he was an assistant history professor.
Additionally, while the emperors were writing about how the Roman Empire should be run based on
their experiences and beliefs, Knipfing was writing about something he did not personally experience.
Therefore, Knipfing had to write his essay using evidence uncovered in his research, like the Edict of
Milan that the emperors wrote. Knipfing s essay was based on his understanding of the early 300 s
under Constantine s rule, which he learned about through many primary sources, like the edict. Since
Knipfing s writing was based off of other people s writing, there is a possibility of double bias in this
essay, as both Knipfing s writing may be biased, as well as his sources. In addition, while Constantine
and Licinius lived through what they were writing about, Knipfing s writing took place over 1600
years afterwards. This time lapse could lead to both positive and

A Comparison Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Is love a special connection or is it something more physical? Throughout many centuries the
perspective of love has always revolved around an association that the two people have in common.
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, we see how love is diverse; Romeo talked about Rosaline.
He mentioned that he was very depressed and even offered her money to marry him. Today, love is a
crave, something that people do not take much time to think on. To elaborate, love brings a
combination of emotions. This was shown by Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo is in
love with Rosaline but once he sees Juliet, he falls for her. In the text it states, What a fool he was to
think he had been in love with Rosaline! He must have been blind. He

Prayer In Schools Paper
This case may seem like many other dozens of cases in the past about prayer in schools, although I
believe it is different. The only problem with this survey is that the source article is not nearly as
specific as I would like it to be so it is harder than it should be to judge exactly what s going on in this
situation. I will, however, do my best to parse through what s going on and see how it relates to the
Bill of Rights. I will also not be taking into account the many prior court cases about prayer in schools
as this would triple the amount of research needed for this paper. The first thing I will go over is the
article to try to see what s happening in this situation. On a Monday (not specified) this year there was
a prayer led by Lorna Gotchall Tovrea for a group (not specified) at Okaloosa County School before

Heparin Flushes in Central Venous Catheters
In reviewing Heparin flushes in Central Venous Catheters (CVCs); one must first understand the
importance of their placement. To properly investigate central venous catheter (CVC) care;
documentation will focus on Heparin flushes as it relates to renal care. The renal dialysis patient
undergoes CVC placement as a basis of receiving hemodialysis treatments. It is essentially the first
access point placed in preparation of a more permanent access point. Central venous catheters,
fistulas, and grafts are considered the lifeline of a dialysis patient. Their function and patency is of the
utmost importance to the morbidity and mortality rate of a renal patient. Venous catheters generally
develop a fibrin sheath at the tip, which evolve into a clot due to body s physiological response to the
vein injury and the foreign catheter 1 and subsequent catheter obstruction. (Journal of Evolution of
Medical and Dental Sciences, 2014, pg. 46).
In dialysis, blood is circulated through an extracorporeal circuit for long periods of time. During this
process the blood can begin to develop clot formations throughout the CVC, extracorporeal circuit,
and the dialyzer itself; which causes multiple complications for the dialysis patient. In order to
minimize or eliminate the

The Overall Concept Of Public Relations
The purpose of this paper is to identify and discuss various image problems or publicity needs within a
company through their specific Public Relations Campaigns. Through the study and research of this
topic, deeper understanding of the overall concept of Public Relations will hopefully be attained. A
corporate identity or image is the comprehensive image of a corporation, business or firm from the
view of the public, including customers, employees and investors. It is essential that good corporate
image is achieved within a corporation, so that the public may view the corporation as positive or
beneficial. Therefore, if the image of a corporation is affected negatively or perceived by the public to
be bad, it can damage not only the corporation s reputation and credibility, but also its appeal to the
public. Publicity is the distribution of information with the goal of increasing awareness among the
public on a specific concept or entity. This entity may range from a person to an organization; it can be
an object or an idea; it could be anything thinkable. As long as there is a concept or entity, it can be
publicized. The main point of publicity is to have the public gain awareness on something. In the
business world, publicity is usually used to create awareness and understanding of a corporation,
therefore increasing popularity and overall image. There is a famous saying, There is no such thing as

How Facebook Marketing Is Violating Consumer Privacy Essay
How Facebook Marketing is Violating Consumer Privacy
The marketing industry is an elaborate network that links companies to their consumers, primarily
through written communication. The main objective of marketing is to identify trends and patterns in
consumer behavior, and utilize the data to influence consumers to purchase more goods. From a
macroenviroment standpoint, the general conditions of a market are heavily dependent on global
environmental factors. The most significant factor that influences the markets today is technological
advancements. Since the release of Facebook, Linked in, Twitter, and Myspace in the early 2000s, the
number of people using social media has increased to over sixty five percent. The ever growing
dependency on social media platforms, has given marketers the tremendous opportunity to further
market potential consumers. Social media marketing is a specific form of marketing that focuses on
producing ad content that social media users will post on their own networks. This particular
marketing technique is effective because ads and content are created, based on what personal
information users post on social media. Firms and organizations that advertise their brands on social
media are more likely to increase their customer base and annual revenue. By doing so, companies are
able to increase exposure of their brand and widen previous hidden, customer bases. As a marketer,
the fine line between right and wrong is often blurred. The amount and

This increased evidence that smoking is associated with poor wound healing could be viewed as bias
though, as most of the studies have looked at surgical wounds and few have been concerning chronic
wounds (Sorenson, 2003). Nutrition Mani (2003) claims that nutrition is a fundamental role that must
be adopted in the treatment and healing process of pressure ulcers. A balanced diet with adequate
nutrients should be key for all patients deemed to be at risk of pressure ulcers. Both nutrition and
hydration are the basic components in promoting wound healing and maintaining normal tissue
integrity. Patients at risk of pressure ulcers should be nutritionally assessed at regular intervals
(Shepard. 2003). This could have been adopted by the use of assessment tools such as, The Nutritional
Screening initiative. This tool includes nutritional screening at regular intervals and a comprehensive
assessment that includes nutritional assessment, functional assessment and evaluation for depression.
This comprehensive approach allows the nurse to quantify the nutritional problems and initiate the

While ID bracelets provide names and contact numbers of parents, the tracking bracelets go further by
letting the parents track their children. This is very important for parents who wants to know where
their children are, if they arrived in school of if they arrived to where they are supposed to be. Best of
all, parents want to know where their children are at any given time. CONCLUSION Although some
parents go all the way in personalizing their children s medical ID bracelet by adding more
unnecessary bling and decors, the ID bracelet remains to be a very important bracelet that every child
should wear. Adding more features like tracking to the bracelet will definitely make it a must for every

The Arch Of Titus, An Architectural Monument And Sculpture...
The Arch of Titus is an architectural monument and sculpture constructed around c. 79 81 CE. by
Domitian in the Forum Romanum, Rome, notable on the plaza for its huge scale and central position.
The arch includes three outstandingly elaborated reliefs, two on both passages, which depict the
martial victory of Rome under the leading of the Roman emperor Titus, and one on the vault, which
displays Titus carried by an eagle to the heaven. The monumental, geometric arch and the detailed,
naturalistic reliefs guide the viewers not only to approach the arch from a distance, but also to pass
through it, and immerse them in the scene of Rome s military triumph and the glory of the arch and its
subject Titus.
The material, Pentelic marble, suggests the dignity of the subject matter and the permanence of its
presence. It is a type of white marble with a faint hue of yellow that makes this material shine with
golden light under sunlight, associating the architecture with the qualities of loftiness and integrity. In
addition, Pentelic marble has the qualities of persistence and gravitas, and therefore the arch is in a
relatively unimpaired condition except that the panel reliefs were damaged permanently in the
eleventh century when the Frangipani family integrated it into a fortress. Later in nineteenth century,
Giuseppe Valadier restored the damaged part with a different type of material, Valadier, to differentiate
the original part of the arch from the later restored portion.

Ariadne has her hair up do because, according to Nolan, later on the scene, there will be the zero
gravity sequence and they wouldn t have to think of how her hair will flow. (Nolan). All the costume

The Boxer Rebellion Of China
Blake Bialas

Honors English 11

The Boxer Rebellion In the very late 1800 s and into the early 1900 s, terror struck northern China
when a group of Chinese peasants known as Boxer s began their historic rebellion against the spread
of western and Japanese influence in China. They were attempting to drive all foreigners out and away
from China, fearing that they would transform traditional ways of the Chinese culture. This event
would prove to be a detriment to both the people of China, as well as the country of China as a whole,
costing them large amounts of money, losing thousands of innocent people, and hurting their
reputation. Not only was China affected by this issue, but countries including America, England,
Russia, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Japan were called for, and aided in
China s cry for help. This is important because China would later have to pay each these countries
back for all of their help, which was not a cheap cost to pay. Importance of this event will be shown
through the rise of the Boxer Rebellion along with what occurred during the rebellion, the many
effects the rebellion had both the people of China, and as a country, and the non justification of the
Boxer Rebellion, despite it having such a large impact on China. It all began in the year 1899, when
the Boxers began to practice physical exercises which they believed would make them invulnerable to
bullets and other forms of attack (The

The early twentieth century was dominated with several multibillion companies. Some of these
companies included the three major motor companies often named as the (Big 3). These were the
General Motor, Chrysler and Ford. Toyota came up and replaced Chrysler and became the world
number two after knocking out Ford in the year 2003. Since the year 2008, Toyota has remained on
the world charts as the largest automaker in the world.
Why Toyota?
There are several reasons why Toyota was chosen for this report. Some of them include the fact that
Toyota managed to experience a significant growth in its global sales not only boosting its profits but
pushing it to the top of the automobile industry. The other key issues that also became known include
the design of Toyota global production and their distribution network. The principal purpose for any
company to do a strategic planning is to develop a shared understanding by all stakeholders in a
business, of the implications and trends that take place in the everyday business operations (Abraham,

The Armenian Arts
The exquisite country of Armenia is found in the Southern Caucasus region, and it borders Georgia,
Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey. With a history dating back all the way to 600 B.C., Armenia is
considered the oldest Christian nation. Its capital, Yerevan, is the largest city and is well known for its
tourist attractions. Armenia s population is around ten million people. The Armenian Genocide, the
tragic earthquake, and several wars with other nations have affected what this country stands for
today. Armenia s fascinating architecture, music and dance, and textiles have all been greatly
influenced by its ancient history and Christian heritage.
Armenia s ancient history and adoption of Christianity are shown in the elegant styles of this country s
architecture. Each monument has different features, but they all have the same characteristic; they are
made out of stone. Some buildings are carved into a cave or mountain! You will likely find several
architectural features in almost every monument. These features are stone cupolas and Khachkars.
Many Armenian churches have stone cupolas. Stone cupolas are domes that sit on top of great big
domes. Armenian architects use them as decoration or adornment. As you can probably imagine, these
cupolas weigh a ton, which is why there are arches to help support them. Another key architectural
feature you will definitely spot in Armenia is Khachkars, stone crosses. There are approximately
20,000 Khachkars in the country. These stone crosses

Pertussis or Whooping Cough Can Lead to Death Essay
Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by
a bacterium, Bordatella pertussis. In 2010 it affected 27, 5501 individuals and was responsible for 262
deaths in the United States. Bordatella pertussis colonizes in the cilia of the respiratory tract3
producing uncontrollable coughing with paroxysms (fits) followed with a high pitched intake of air
creating a whoop sound, posttussive emesis (cough induced vomiting), and exhaustion.3 These
symptoms can last up to 10 weeks.3 Adults can transfer Pertussis to infants who are not fully

During 2000 2010, 184 deaths were directly attributed to pertussis, which occurred only in California,
Pennsylvania and Texas.2 California had the highest morality rate, at 35 deaths in the ten year period.2
Notably, the White population of reported pertussis morality was at the highest at 160 of 184 deaths.2
Also, there has been an increase in reported cases in the United Sates, in 2000 there were 12 reported
deaths and in 2010 there were 26 deaths.2 94 percent of the pertussis related mortality occurred in
infants (less than 1 years old) who are not fully immunized.
The increase in pertussis incidences and morality may include diminished immunity, as childhood
pertussis vaccine does not provide lifelong immunity.4 Tdap booster shot at 11 or 12 years old and
expected mothers in their third trimester should be given to continue their protective antibodies and
those that would be passed to the infant.4 Also, the increased in pertussis may be a decreased usage of
the pertussis vaccine, increased doctor awareness and public health reporting.
Limitations to this analysis are pertussis is underdiagnosed and misclassified as severe cold, influenza,

Defining each character separately allowing the audience the ability to follow a storyline with a
conceptualized look defined prior to a performance was, and is needed as part of preproduction
preparations. Early performers were generally male, therefore costuming was needed for gender
disguise so as to create the illusion of the opposite sex. In Asia, the men would dress up as women.
Young men also played women in the plays during the 1500s and 1600s. Many of these young teenage
boys were very sickly and often died at a very young age. This was a direct result of skin eating
diseases caused by the white, led based face paint they were forced to wear during performances; a
very sad and gruesome ending to such a short life. Costuming also helps create other character
building imagery such as age. The leading characters will always have more detail and design to make
them stand out and relate a sense of trust to the audience. Styles and technique have changed
significantly over the centuries but have maintained basic principles of clothing design yet geared
towards pushing the out the character s personality and traits in its appearance. Many people simply

Difference Between Goodwill And Impairment
Introduction
Goodwill and impairment is very well related in accounting concept, impairment is a concept in
accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset (Dauang ploy,O.,Shelton,M.,
Omer,K.,2005). To calculate impairment loss it is essential to de cide the amount of value in use, and
this involve the calculation of the cash flows which are supposed to be produced from the use of
assets. Goodwill can only be recognised when it is obtain in business combination.
Impairment
Impairment is a concept in accounting that explains stable reduction in value of asset.
Total profit and cash flow are expected to be produce by certain asset which is occa sionally
contrasted with book value. If the book value is more than cash flow of the asset, the remaining
amount should be written off and the value should be rejected from the balance sheet
(Dauangploy,O.,et. al.,2005). If the carrying amount is more than recoverable amount, it can indicate
the loss of impairment. Then the recover able amounts need to be written down. There are two
different models to recognise impairment, cost model and revaluation model. Impairment loss in cost
model can be recognised directly in profit or loss. In revaluation model asset is measured in its fair
value and impairment loss is recognised as descending revaluation.
Impairment loss, Cash Generating Unit¬¬¬¬¬¬
To calculate impairment loss it is essential to decide the amount of value in use, and this involve the
calculation of the cash flows which are supposed to be produced from the use of assets. Though, some
assets don t produce cash flow by itself. This is the reason why the cash flow is increasing due to the
combination of few assets together. In other word, car used by sales person does not produce cash
flow by itself (Sun,L., Zhang,J.,2017). When the asset can not generate cash flow by itself it is
necessary to group them and it is called cash generating unit . Cash generating unit is the smallest
recognisable group of assets that brings cash inflow.
At the end of the period after identifying what is Cash Generating unit is, manage ment need to figure
out if impairment is occur or not. If there is possibility of impair ment, calculation of recoverable

The Law Is Made Under The First Amendment Of The United...
I. Introduction In modern American society, there is little thought in how and why the laws came to
be. There is a natural assumption that the laws were made to protect the people and society. The law is
made under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States which give the right to the
people to seek its government for redress of any grievances. Utilizing this right, it gives rise to new
laws to be enacted and old laws to be amended or repealed, in the ever developing society. As the
American society progresses, we become more acceptant to compromise our core values. The value of
speaking and writing has been reduced to redundant, ambiguous and vague, incomplete thoughts. Our
mannerisms are guised and restricted to fit the occasion and are hardly rendered otherwise. And our
due diligence to prove and maintain our status in our sexual encounters are becoming a requirement to
endure in our daily lives, regardless of age. Consequently, Americans and its society are evidently
hypersexualized, accurately stated within the book Sexidemic: A Cultural History of Sex in America

The law does not say anything about how a Prime Minister should be chosen similarly the law does

On the other hand, conventions believe that the monarch has to request one person to be the Prime

Every Prime Mister has to be a member of both House of Commons and House of Lords. Prime
Ministers in the House of Commons are elected by the public on the other hand the House of Lords

What Is The Crime Of Aggression Is International Law
What is the crime of aggression in international law
Introduction
The Rome Statute marked historic moments of consensus in international criminal law in 2002 as it
entered into force. The first permanent international criminal Court (ICC) was established with the
main aim of ending impunity, promoting judicial independency and reaffirming the position of the
United Nations Charter (UNC).
The mandate of the Court is to try individuals and to hold such persons accountable for the most
serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, namely the crime of genocide,
war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression, when the conditions for the
exercise of the Court s jurisdiction over the latter are fulfilled.
In 1998 Rome Statute negotiation, the crime of aggression was listed among the major crimes under
the Court s jurisdiction in Article 5 of the Rome Statute but did not power the Court to use jurisdiction
over the crime thus contrasting the other crimes(genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes).
This was because the Statute did not define the crime or set out jurisdictional rules.
The Assembly of States Parties ( ASP ) created a Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression (
the Special Working Group ), to help in addressing such issues as the crime of aggression. This was
driven by the fact that the Preparatory Commissions formed by the Rome Statute after the conclusion
of the Rome Statute of June and July 1998, had not worked

Examples Of Overcoming Strengths In Life
The struggle you re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow Robert Tew. Success is
getting to a good place in life, despite past obstacles. We all have a chance to be successful even
though there are hardships that we may experience along the way. In the book, A Child Called It, the
Netflix TV series Shameless, and the biopic All Eyez on Me each depict the lives of individuals who
overcome obstacles in life. My favorite works of art, feature characters that have struggled to
overcome obstacles in order to gain success.
My favorite book, A Child Called It, is about a boy who was physically, verbally and mentally abused
by his mother. David s mother struggles to treat her son with love, and respect. First, David was
physically abused by his mom. For example, David s mother would beat him, and make him eat his
brothers feces. As a child, David felt worthless, and he wanted his mother s love, but instead he was
beaten and threatened as if he was less than human. Next, David endured verbal abuse from his
mother; throughout the book there are many instances were David s mother would curse, and call him
terrible names. Lastly, David had to deal with psychological torture from his mother. David suffered
from the emotional scars that his mother left behind. He never felt what it was like to be loved by a
parent, David only knew what it was like to be hurt by one. The mental abuse that David endured will
forever impact his life, but his situation made him a stronger person. David has turned the abuse he
experienced as a child in books to share his story.
Shameless, my favorite TV series, is filmed on the Southside of Chicago. It features a dysfunctional
family with everyday struggles, such as problems with friendships, and financially. First, Shameless
demonstrates the complexity of relationships. For example, one of the main characters Fiona has had
many boyfriends. She hasn t found the right man yet, but from what she has experienced with men she
has grown mentally through the series. Each character in Shameless has been through there fair share
of tests with friendships and relationships. But, the characters find a way to overcome their issue.

The Teaching Of Standard American English Essay
School has always been a place of business, in my opinion. A place where we are educated and
prepared for life, essentially. And the proper way of doing so, as I believe most people have been
taught, is to enhance all skills such as vocabulary, grammar, mathematics, etc... This is why we are
taught so many subjects, being tested and guided to follow whichever path we feel most comfortable
or skilled at doing. During the process, is where skills are established and developed. The product that
is intended after having gone through school is to shape a well skilled, educated, and productive
person that can benefit society as a whole. In limiting the teaching of Standard American English, we
would be limiting the amount of people that can fulfill their potential, raise the difficulty for teachers,
and accept mediocrity. In keeping this dialect, students will gain new skills and learn the language of
business to prepare them for any encounters along the way. There is no need, in my eyes, to minimize
or put an extent to teaching the English dialect and that is what I will personally support in this essay.
To begin, minimizing Standard American English and allowing any dialect into a classroom can
become a hassel. Teachers will have to start familiarizing themselves and adapt to the dialects of
students. This can raise the difficulty for teachers, having to alter their teaching process to acomodate
for every student. It is not an efficent way of teaching, which is the goal

architecture and design method to guarantees the integrity of a mobile platform [29].

D. Single Sign On (SSO)
Most users have multiple accounts in various Service Providers with different usernames and
passwords which in turn leads to lost productivity and apply more overhead on administrators. So,
there is a need to use the SSO technique in which an authorized user uses only a single action of
authentication to access all related systems or applications of same trust domain [34]. In cloud based
SSO system the central authentication server hides a multiplicity of user s account information into a
single account to be sent to the needed server of the system or application whenever the user intends
to use it [35]. The concept of SSO can be deployed within an Intranet, Extranet or Internet using
Token or PKI based SSO protocols for single credentials or set of other protocols for multiple
credentials as declared in the following Figure:
Binu et al. [34] Proposed a Cloud authentication model with Single Sign on (SSO) functionality that
uses a password and mobile token stored within a mobile phone as the authentication factors. This
model uses a Secure Access Markup Language SAML protocol running on the authentication server to
support access across multiple domains.
2 Factor Authentication (2FA) is more suitable with principles of cloud authentication. A user sends
his username and password as the first factor to the cloud server for authentication. The cloud server
asks the user to send

Relationships In The Poisonwood Bible
Father daughter relationships are commonly filled with unconditional love, but an adolescent s
complete devotion can be abused by an unfit parent. In Barbara Kingsolver s The Poisonwood Bible,
the devout baptist minister Nathan Price traverses the luscious African country of the Congo along
with his wife Orleanna and their four daughters: Rachel, Leah, Adah, and Ruth May. One of the Price
girls, Leah, is introduced as having an indescribable adoration for her disparaging dad. However, as
Leah matures into a young women, Nathan s racist, misogynistic, and all around despicable acts turn
what was once an affectionate worship for her father into an unaffected scorn. The unique bond
between Leah and Nathan Price exemplifies the developing relationship ... Show more content on

Deciding to fulfill her newfound passion for hunting with the tribesmen, Leah decided to flat out
disobey Nathan and proclaim she is going out with the men and that s final (340). Following this
encounter, Leah completely loses the excessive adoration she had for Nathan. As the socially
rebellious Leah grows older, she becomes aware of the systematic dependency she willingly
subscribed to. Nevertheless, Leah s disrespect towards her father comes as a sharp contrast to the
young teen who wanted nothing more than Nathan s approval. Reflecting on the undeniable evils of
her relationship with Kilanga, and more specifically, her parents, Leah wishes she could reach
backward somehow to give Father just one gift, it would be the simple human relief of knowing you
ve done wrong, and living through it (525). Ironically, the sorrowful Leah is a carbon copy of her
father, feeling the guilt of acts for which neither could feasibly stop within their power. This
unpalatable pain kills Leah as she is forced to live with the aftermath of the deranged Nathan mentally
abusing Leah, her mother, and her sisters, causing the grief stricken Leah to take partial blame for the
acts from which she fell victim of. In brief, Leah escapes the unbreakable grasp Nathan held on her
adolescent self by rebelling against not only

The Movie Her
The movie Her is the story about Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix), a man who develops a
relationship with Samantha (Scarlett Johansson), an intelligent computer operating system personified
through a female voice. At the beginning of the film, Theodore is completely inept when it comes to
how to make relationship with person, specifically women. However, after he gets to know Samantha,
an OS program, a feeling of true love develops inside of Theodore s mind. Then he realizes how he
was fatuous in his past. Throughout the film, the director (Spike Jonze) uses five distinct color
schemes to correspond Theodore s feeling and situation.
Red / Pink
The film begins in a red background with Theodore s front face, but he is not wearing red. He
accepting of his lonely and depressed lifestyle but from the red background gives some hint, that he
will get a chance of the bright lifestyle and love. After he accidently met Samantha, he is wearing red
or pink colors shirts during the majority of the film. Through kind of red colors, audience predicts he
is ready to accept love. Theodor s best friend Amy(Amy Adams) also wears pretty much red colors
because she has come to terms with her situation, and also the most accepting about people having
relationships with their OS programs. Another color the director use is the Theodore s orange coat,
representing a joy and freedom. When a problem is resolved, he wears the orange coat. He struggles
with the fact that the OS system cannot become

Redefining Heroism Throughout The Language Of The Brag

Redefining Heroism in the Language of the Brag
Sharon Olds author of the Language of the Brag, suggests through her experience in the poem that our
society and culture altogether is male dominated towards achievement and focused more for men s
success and heroism. Men are typically known for their strength and courage, especially heroic acts in
society. When things are expected to get done, it s naturally expected for the guy to do it. And through
her use of repetition and tone in the Language of the Brag the author describes certain attributes that
she once lacked to later achieving in the poem. Significantly, Olds uses repetition to make a statement
from I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also poetic action depicted in the poem, in which the writer establishes her longing to perform
an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement. I think my biggest surprise was her casual use of
sexual language, using a vibrating cock as a metaphor, and later using the knife reference again saying
she was stabbed in her inner sex. Sharon Olds speaks so fiercely about the woman s body, that you
feel she s almost competing against the constant objectivity against the woman s body. You can tell
she speaks from experience, she s watched the boys play and all she wants is to show them that she
has suffered as a woman and is better for it. She s stronger, prouder, and for that reason has a right to
brag and redefine heroism.
The middle of the poem is crucial because Sharon Olds is able to link heroism to the act of birth. It is
also where the speaker changes her statement from I have wanted to I have. Sharon Olds does this by
using graphic images to emphasize her point in the act of birth. She states, my inner sex/ stabbed again
and again with terrible pain like a knife./ I have lain down./ I have lain down and sweated and shaken/
and passed blood and feces and water and/ slowly alone in the center of a circle I have/ passed the new
person out (lines 19 25). This transition I have wanted to I have is important not only because its
shows the author s new found strength through the process of the act, Olds herself is finally the center

Through the years, we have managed to overcome several limitations, which in the past were nothing more than dreams. We succeeded in landing on the moon and communicating over long distance, yet there are still some boundaries we have yet to cross despite our best effort. Aging is an inevitable process of nature. While we cannot stop the ticking clock in our body, we have made it possible for aging to be delayed and relieved to a great extent through advance technology and modern governance. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this group of people, most governments intervene to help to subsidise for treatments they genuinely need. Modern governments promise old age security, which ensures that their citizens can fend for themselves during old age. The approaches, however, may vary from society to society. In some like The United Kingdom and Canada, government pensions are distributed to the elderly. In some others such as Singapore, the people are compelled to provide in advance for their old age dependency. Some societies have laws in place to enforce children to take care of elderly parents. For example, in Singapore, elderly parents may file in to the court if their children do not provide for them. However, there are various financial concerns about these methods. In the case of government pensions, the heavy spending of public fund on the old aged may take a toll on other areas of the nation s development. Thus a method that works in a society may not work in another and sometimes, multiple approaches have to be taken. However, better healthcare and protection from government result in rising age expectancy, which is a double edged sword as on one hand, people live longer as shown in report (Friedland and Summer, 2005, Fig 1 2) and on the other hand, the proportion of aging population increases if the younger generation are not reproducing enough, and this is exactly the trend now in developed nations. In order to survive under such reduced oxygen concentration, tumor cell adapts some transcriptional expression where Hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) is a key transcriptional factor 31. HIF transcription factors (HIF 1 and HIF 2) act as heterodimers comprising an alpha and beta subunit. Under normoxic condition alpha subunit is unstable due to proteasomal degradation. These ghosts play an important role in the story, but there has always been a debate over whether the ghosts exist inside the story, or if they exist only in the governess head. There is evidence within the book to support either claim, so the reality of the apparitions ultimately depends on the reader s opinion. This paper will support the opinion that the two ghosts that the governess sees are ultimately just figments of her imagination. Even though the governess ghosts are not real, she believes them to be real, and her reaction to this belief precipitates the unfortunate conclusion. The Turn of the Screw is a ghost story, but the real ghosts in the book are mostly ignored, which is not uncommon in literature, and examples of ignored ghosts can be found in other works as well. While the emperors ruled large areas of land, Knipfing studied history, wrote essays, and taught classes at Ohio State University, where he was an assistant history professor. Knipfing s essay was based on his understanding of the early 300 s under Constantine s rule, which he learned about through many primary sources, like the edict. Reliable help will depend on the people (neighbors, teachers, policemen, etc.) who will respond to help. But these ID bracelets will definitely be helpful in the event of emergencies. WHAT IS THE BEST BRAND? The best medical alert bracelet would be the one with a tracking device. While ID bracelets provide names and contact numbers of parents, the tracking bracelets go further by letting the parents track their children. This is very important for parents who wants to know where their children are, if they arrived in school of if they arrived to where they are supposed to be. Best of all, parents want to know where their children are at any given time. CONCLUSION Although some parents go all the way in personalizing their children s medical ID bracelet by adding more unnecessary bling and decors, the ID bracelet remains to be a very important bracelet that every child should wear. • 23. The Arch Of Titus, An Architectural Monument And Sculpture... The Arch of Titus is an architectural monument and sculpture constructed around c. 79 81 CE. by Domitian in the Forum Romanum, Rome, notable on the plaza for its huge scale and central position. The arch includes three outstandingly elaborated reliefs, two on both passages, which depict the martial victory of Rome under the leading of the Roman emperor Titus, and one on the vault, which displays Titus carried by an eagle to the heaven. The monumental, geometric arch and the detailed, naturalistic reliefs guide the viewers not only to approach the arch from a distance, but also to pass through it, and immerse them in the scene of Rome s military triumph and the glory of the arch and its subject Titus. The material, Pentelic marble, suggests the dignity of the subject matter and the permanence of its presence. It is a type of white marble with a faint hue of yellow that makes this material shine with golden light under sunlight, associating the architecture with the qualities of loftiness and integrity. In addition, Pentelic marble has the qualities of persistence and gravitas, and therefore the arch is in a relatively unimpaired condition except that the panel reliefs were damaged permanently in the eleventh century when the Frangipani family integrated it into a fortress. Later in nineteenth century, Giuseppe Valadier restored the damaged part with a different type of material, Valadier, to differentiate the original part of the arch from the later restored portion. The Boxer Rebellion Of China Blake Bialas Mrs. Blomme Honors English 11 1 October 2014 The Boxer Rebellion In the very late 1800 s and into the early 1900 s, terror struck northern China when a group of Chinese peasants known as Boxer s began their historic rebellion against the spread of western and Japanese influence in China. They were attempting to drive all foreigners out and away from China, fearing that they would transform traditional ways of the Chinese culture. This event would prove to be a detriment to both the people of China, as well as the country of China as a whole, costing them large amounts of money, losing thousands of innocent people, and hurting their reputation. Not only was China affected by this issue, but countries including America, England, Russia, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Japan were called for, and aided in China s cry for help. This is important because China would later have to pay each these countries back for all of their help, which was not a cheap cost to pay. Importance of this event will be shown through the rise of the Boxer Rebellion along with what occurred during the rebellion, the many effects the rebellion had both the people of China, and as a country, and the non justification of the Boxer Rebellion, despite it having such a large impact on China. Defining each character separately allowing the audience the ability to follow a storyline with a conceptualized look defined prior to a performance was, and is needed as part of preproduction preparations. Young men also played women in the plays during the 1500s and 1600s. Many of these young teenage boys were very sickly and often died at a very young age. This was a direct result of skin eating diseases caused by the white, led based face paint they were forced to wear during performances; a very sad and gruesome ending to such a short life. Costuming also helps create other character building imagery such as age. The leading characters will always have more detail and design to make them stand out and relate a sense of trust to the audience. Total profit and cash flow are expected to be produce by certain asset which is occa sionally contrasted with book value. If the book value is more than cash flow of the asset, the remaining amount should be written off and the value should be rejected from the balance sheet (Dauangploy,O.,et. al.,2005). If the carrying amount is more than recoverable amount, it can indicate the loss of impairment. Then the recover able amounts need to be written down. There are two different models to recognise impairment, cost model and revaluation model. Impairment loss in cost model can be recognised directly in profit or loss. There is a natural assumption that the laws were made to protect the people and society. The law is made under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States which give the right to the people to seek its government for redress of any grievances. Utilizing this right, it gives rise to new laws to be enacted and old laws to be amended or repealed, in the ever developing society. As the American society progresses, we become more acceptant to compromise our core values. The value of speaking and writing has been reduced to redundant, ambiguous and vague, incomplete thoughts. Our mannerisms are guised and restricted to fit the occasion and are hardly rendered otherwise. And our due diligence to prove and maintain our status in our sexual encounters are becoming a requirement to endure in our daily lives, regardless of age. • 38. What Is The Crime Of Aggression Is International Law What is the crime of aggression in international law Introduction The Rome Statute marked historic moments of consensus in international criminal law in 2002 as it entered into force. The first permanent international criminal Court (ICC) was established with the main aim of ending impunity, promoting judicial independency and reaffirming the position of the United Nations Charter (UNC). The mandate of the Court is to try individuals and to hold such persons accountable for the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, namely the crime of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression, when the conditions for the exercise of the Court s jurisdiction over the latter are fulfilled. In 1998 Rome Statute negotiation, the crime of aggression was listed among the major crimes under the Court s jurisdiction in Article 5 of the Rome Statute but did not power the Court to use jurisdiction over the crime thus contrasting the other crimes(genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes). This was because the Statute did not define the crime or set out jurisdictional rules. The Assembly of States Parties ( ASP ) created a Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression ( the Special Working Group ), to help in addressing such issues as the crime of aggression. This was driven by the fact that the Preparatory Commissions formed by the Rome Statute after the conclusion of the Rome Statute of June and July 1998, had not worked ... Success is getting to a good place in life, despite past obstacles. We all have a chance to be successful even though there are hardships that we may experience along the way. In the book, A Child Called It, the Netflix TV series Shameless, and the biopic All Eyez on Me each depict the lives of individuals who overcome obstacles in life. My favorite works of art, feature characters that have struggled to overcome obstacles in order to gain success. My favorite book, A Child Called It, is about a boy who was physically, verbally and mentally abused by his mother. David s mother struggles to treat her son with love, and respect. First, David was physically abused by his mom. For example, David s mother would beat him, and make him eat his brothers feces. As a child, David felt worthless, and he wanted his mother s love, but instead he was beaten and threatened as if he was less than human. Next, David endured verbal abuse from his mother; throughout the book there are many instances were David s mother would curse, and call him terrible names. Lastly, David had to deal with psychological torture from his mother. David suffered from the emotional scars that his mother left behind. He never felt what it was like to be loved by a parent, David only knew what it was like to be hurt by one. The mental abuse that David endured will forever impact his life, but his situation made him a stronger person. David has turned the abuse he experienced as a child in books to share his story. Shameless, my favorite TV series, is filmed on the Southside of Chicago. It features a dysfunctional family with everyday struggles, such as problems with friendships, and financially. • 41. The Teaching Of Standard American English Essay School has always been a place of business, in my opinion. A place where we are educated and prepared for life, essentially. And the proper way of doing so, as I believe most people have been taught, is to enhance all skills such as vocabulary, grammar, mathematics, etc... This is why we are taught so many subjects, being tested and guided to follow whichever path we feel most comfortable or skilled at doing. During the process, is where skills are established and developed. The product that is intended after having gone through school is to shape a well skilled, educated, and productive person that can benefit society as a whole. In limiting the teaching of Standard American English, we would be limiting the amount of people that can fulfill their potential, raise the difficulty for teachers, and accept mediocrity. In keeping this dialect, students will gain new skills and learn the language of business to prepare them for any encounters along the way. There is no need, in my eyes, to minimize or put an extent to teaching the English dialect and that is what I will personally support in this essay. To begin, minimizing Standard American English and allowing any dialect into a classroom can become a hassel. Teachers will have to start familiarizing themselves and adapt to the dialects of students. This can raise the difficulty for teachers, having to alter their teaching process to acomodate for every student. It is not an efficent way of teaching, which is the goal ... The concept of SSO can be deployed within an Intranet, Extranet or Internet using Token or PKI based SSO protocols for single credentials or set of other protocols for multiple credentials as declared in the following Figure: Binu et al. [34] Proposed a Cloud authentication model with Single Sign on (SSO) functionality that uses a password and mobile token stored within a mobile phone as the authentication factors. This model uses a Secure Access Markup Language SAML protocol running on the authentication server to support access across multiple domains. 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) is more suitable with principles of cloud authentication. A user sends his username and password as the first factor to the cloud server for authentication. The cloud server asks the user to send ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Redefining Heroism Throughout The Language Of The Brag Samuel Ballantyne Dr. Van Aken English 152 Final Essay 5/3/2017 Redefining Heroism in the Language of the Brag Sharon Olds author of the Language of the Brag, suggests through her experience in the poem that our society and culture altogether is male dominated towards achievement and focused more for men s success and heroism. Men are typically known for their strength and courage, especially heroic acts in society. When things are expected to get done, it s naturally expected for the guy to do it. And through her use of repetition and tone in the Language of the Brag the author describes certain attributes that she once lacked to later achieving in the poem. Significantly, Olds uses repetition to make a statement from I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is also poetic action depicted in the poem, in which the writer establishes her longing to perform an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement. I think my biggest surprise was her casual use of sexual language, using a vibrating cock as a metaphor, and later using the knife reference again saying she was stabbed in her inner sex. Sharon Olds speaks so fiercely about the woman s body, that you feel she s almost competing against the constant objectivity against the woman s body. You can tell she speaks from experience, she s watched the boys play and all she wants is to show them that she has suffered as a woman and is better for it. She s stronger, prouder, and for that reason has a right to brag and redefine heroism. The middle of the poem is crucial because Sharon Olds is able to link heroism to the act of birth. It is also where the speaker changes her statement from I have wanted to I have. Sharon Olds does this by using graphic images to emphasize her point in the act of birth. She states, my inner sex/ stabbed again and again with terrible pain like a knife./ I have lain down./ I have lain down and sweated and shaken/ and passed blood and feces and water and/ slowly alone in the center of a circle I have/ passed the new person out (lines 19 25). This transition I have wanted to I have is important not only because its shows the author s new found strength through the process of the act, Olds herself is finally the center of ...
