Building A Target Conformant And Flexible Enterprise...
Introduction: In order to build a target conformant and flexible Enterprise Architecture, and to put it in
a perspective, it is very important to analyse and visualize various academic and industrial frameworks
and comprehend and define its concepts. Various definitions describe different architectural processes,
systems, technologies, components and their relationships (Taleb et al, 2012a).The following section
discusses three industrial and three academic frameworks which provide different viewpoints of
Enterprise Architecture.
Analysis:

The importance of culture and organizational structure and the integration between them is discussed
in depth as well, in order to state the factors that need to be focused on for design of an enterprise.
Bernard has further elaborated on various organization models and scrutinized them to justify the
distinction between organization and enterprise. Associated risks and process of estimating the cost
and benefits are eventually explored, covering several important aspects of EA.
Evaluation
Enterprise Architecture is defined as a coherent whole of principles, methods, and models that are
used in the design and realization of an enterprise s organizational structure, business processes,
information systems, and infrastructure (Lankhorst et al, 2012). Over time, EA has become an integral
part of organization s strategy rather than being a mere guideline, (Vaidyanathan, 2005) motivating
organizations to design business aligned enterprise systems. The author s representation of EA as a
strategy, business and technology driven process and its meta disciplinary role thus seems accurately
described. Decisions taken are often incomplete without an adequate decision supporting frameworks
(Narman, 2012). Several organizations have adopted EA frameworks in order to maintain links with
other systems and ultimately create integrated systems, similar to building blocks that fit together
(Shah and Kourdi, 2007). The author s knowledge

Impact Of The Industrial Revolution On The World Essay
Since the first time an image was transported to a laptop screen or a handheld device was used to
communicate to people in other countries, the world has been a system of calls, emails, texts, and
networks that are all categorized under the term technology. We started off with technology that
helped us forage for food or manage our livestock. However, tech today is a basis of
telecommunications and the use of different mechanical mechanisms that are seemingly robotic. How
far we have come from the beginning of the first civilizations to what we are able to do now illustrates
the impact of the industrial revolution and, some may say, tech revolution. We are still booming and at
every corner that is turned new advancements are introduced into society that was not thought about
before. It seems that we should be all tech savvy and a life without technology would be a little
unnerving to say the least. Others say that this dependence makes robots or us less human. Throughout
the research conducted on technology, there were news articles assumingly concluding that we are
humans merging with technology and turning into robots and another similarly arguing that we need
to become cyborgs or risk humans being turned into robots. These may not be scholarly articles but
are interesting to see and notice the perspective that people believe to be true. The extremely absurd
notion that we are so heavily dependent on technology that we will turn into robots may actually be
true.

Renewable and Nonrewable Energy Resources Essay
Renewable and Nonrewable Energy Resources
Energy is used as part of everyday lives and can be used in one form or another. Energy is about doing
work and it is all around us. Animals need energy to live and machines need energy to work. Energy
exists in many forms, such as:
Light
Heat
Electrical
Mechanical
Atomic
Chemical etc.
There are different types of energy resources. They go into two groups, which are Non renewable and
Renewable.

It comes from tiny plants and animals remains that used to live in oceans over a million of years ago.
As their remains built up on the ocean floor, layers of sediment were formed and gas was produced by
heat and pressure. Gas is cleaned and processed after it has been taken from the ground to get rid of
impurities. After this it is pumped into storage tanks and carried around the country. Natural gas really
has no smell but the distinctive smell has been added as a warning of leaks.
The advantages of gas are:
Shrinks when cooled
Turned into liquid, when put under pressure.
Easily portable in liquid form.
The production platform of gas to homes:
1) Gas is pumped to processing plants on shore.
2) Sent to compressor station.
3) Into storage tanks.
4) Gas companies supply it.
5) Into peoples homes.

Argumentative Essay On Pro Sports
There is a reason football players, hockey players, and other pro athletes are required to wear mouth
guards and face masks: to help prevent dental injuries. According to DentalCare.com, orofacial
injuries in football used to be as high as 50 percent but, after faceguards and mouth protectors were
made mandatory in 1962, that percentage dropped to .5 percent. Unfortunately, the requirement is for
school and pro sports, not for kids getting together to play on the local playground or ice rink. For
Texas parents who do not make the same mandate for their kids, it is likely they will end up with a
dentist emergency in Frisco TX. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry quotes a survey that

Technology And The Medical Industry
Abstract
Stethoscopes have been around for nearly more than 200 years. From the early modern stethoscopes
made of brass and wood, to common acoustic stethoscopes doctors use these days. Now,
digital/electronic stethoscopes have been invented in which they are advanced and has more uses than
acoustic stethoscopes. However they are much more costly than other stethoscopes and also tend to be
at a heavier weight. These digital stethoscopes provide detailed information and have many functions
to for the doctors to better analyse patients.
1. Introduction
What will the world be like if there is technology? It is definitely difficult to picture the world without
the use of technology in the daily lives of human beings. Throughout the years, technology has
advanced rapidly. For the medical industry, according to research done by EvaluatePharma ® , the
medical technology market is forecasted to reach about $440 Billion by 2018, increasing at a rate of
about 4.4% each year from 2011 (MEDTECH MARKET TO ACHIEVE GLOBAL SALES OF $440
BILLION BY 2018, 2012). An example of an equipment that has advanced and improved is the
stethoscope. The stethoscope is an equipment that is highly associated with doctors whereby almost all
doctors use them to analyse patients. The purpose of this report is to educate the public of the new and
advanced digital stethoscope that we have today. This paper covers the history and functions of
stethoscopes, as well as elaborating the merits and components of

Animator Research Paper
Some people have wondered if there is a career out there that has to do with their passion for drawing.
Well, there is a career out there, and it has to do with animation. The occupation is known as an
animator. In order to have a career in animation, aspiring animators need to know, how the process
works, why animation is important, how this career can have an impact on talent, and the skills that
will be needed, so that aspiring animators will be ready for their passion. In order to be an animator,
people in this career have to learn how animation works in the first place. All animations work by
using a series of moving images to make the images look like they are actually moving (Robin Hegg).
This is basic information for any animator to know. Aspiring animators will have to be very skilled
and patient in order to have to draw every single frame. Traditionally most animation have 24 frames

One of the reasons why animation was made, was so that it could be used for entertainment for both
the young and old demographic (Del Siegle). it is important whenever someone is trying to make art
that it appeals to people or a specific type of demographic. Animation can also be used to teach what
is the proper way to write stories (Del Siegle). With all the animations out there, they would need to
have a good story, right? If an animation does not have a good story, most people tend not to like it,
because of this aspiring animators can look at any animation and see what make its good or bad. And
with the improvement of technology, many people are finding careers in places like Pixar and
Dreamworks (Daniel Lombardo). Animation is so big that there are companies so that people, who
want to, can go out there and find a career. Animation brings up so many opportunities, it makes

Shopping Experience With Sprouts Farmer s Market Essay
I split my food shopping between a suburban enclave in Franklin, TN and my parent s country house
in Columbia, TN. There are a multitude of lifestyle discrepancies between suburban and country
living, and I suspected that this would be evident in the retail food options offered. Columbia grocery
stores are either large big box grocers or small regional stores. These stores historically service more
conventional food options. Franklin s larger and more affluent population allows for more diversity in
alternative and health food stores. I chose to observe a local Kroger Grocery Store in Columbia, and
contrasted that shopping experience with Sprouts Farmer s Market in Franklin. The separate shopping
experiences elucidated that retail food options are contingent on the expectations, comprehension and
financial flexibility of the customers and the stores. I visited the Kroger Grocery Store around eight on
Sunday morning. The patron demographic was primarily older than 55 and African American. The
store has provided groceries for the community for at least fifteen years. The store was clean and
organized, but there was a slight dingy appearance that comes with older stores. The store has been
remodeled and remerchandised, but the dark lighting and worn floors disclose the stores true age.

Lovable Jerk Film Analysis
It is these three, however, who absolutely make the film what it is. Such unparalleled acting and
interactions between Lucas, Rachael and Travis. No, it s not the three stooges, for these three tell a
much more compelling story and give stunningly impressive performances that far supersede the
antics of those superb comedians from another era. While the story does involve a love triangle,
Hallmark s writers seem to avoid the pitfalls we sometimes witness when viewing films that revolve
around that particular issue. In fact, jealousy doesn t even seem to be the dilemma between the two
young men. At least, not jealousy over the young lady s affections.
As the lovable jerk, Travis portrays the smooth talking, forward thinking Will who is often looking for
a means to an end. Unfortunately, he is not overly principled in his business dealings nor his
relationships. He sees the attractive, vivacious Maya, and he decides to woo her right from the outset.

Curtis Carlson, founder of the Carlson Company, was the son of Swedish immigrants and widely
known in Sweden for his business success and philanthropy. The company established the Curtis L.
Carlson Family Foundation in 1959 and became involved in various charitable causes. Because of
Curtis reputation as a successful businessman and philanthropist, he became acquainted with the royal
family of Sweden. The two families developed a longstanding friendship that later influenced Marilyn

and achieved over $37 billion in annual sales in 2006 (Lawrence Weber, 2014). She had a visionary
outlook and was always looking for potential issues that could impact relationships with stakeholders.
In some parts of the world, the tourism industry was exploiting children and teen girls for sex
trafficking. It had become a very profitable multi billion dollar industry with an estimated two million
children being exploited each year (Lawrence Weber, 2014). Because the Carlson Company owned
and operated hotels, cruise ships, restaurants, tour operators and travel agencies all over the world,
their brand reputation could be negatively impacted by the sexual exploitation of children. In 1998,

Stoppard s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern s friendship consists of giving, and taking from one another.
Rosencrantz is the goofy character, whereas Guildenstern is the level headed one. This creates a
unique dynamic throughout the play of, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Their differences can
create bickering, but they do care about each other immensely. Guildenstern is the thinker of the pair.
At one point he says, A weaker man might be moved to re examine his faith, if in nothing else at least
in the law of probability (Stoppard 12). This shows he is analytical, and thinking of the reason behind
the action of flipping a coin. Rosencrantz is the honest, and considerate friend. In the beginning of the

The Liberal And Defeat Of The Treaty Of Versailles
After the fighting of World War I stopped, the nations of the Allied powers gathered in Paris, France to
negotiate and write the treaty that would end the war. What would become known as the Treaty of
Versailles was signed by Germany and most of the Allied powers. However, the United States did not
do so. Both liberal and conservative opposition as well as the behavior and actions of President Wilson
significantly contributed to the defeat of the Treaty of Versailles in the United States. Liberal groups
saw components of the treaty as being insufficient and failing to ensure the interests of the United
States and this belief spread to many. Conservative groups viewed aspects of the treaty as being
unnecessary and too harsh on Germany and many came to agree. In addition, President Wilson s
refusal to compromise on ratification of the treaty made it very difficult to allow it to receive the
support it needed. The many nations that were part of the Allied powers met in the Palace of Versailles
in France to negotiate what would happen to the nations that were part of the Axis powers, Germany,
Austria Hungary, and Turkey. In the negotiations, President Wilson proposed and argued for his
Fourteen Points. These points consisted of restrictions, land redistribution, and establishments that
President Wilson believed would prevent war in the future. Among these points, he included the

The Consequences Of The Bosnia War On The Bosnian War
The Bosnian War was a brutal and inhumane conflict that featured genocide and the advent of ethnic
cleansing and mass rape as instruments of modern warfare. The case study War in Bosnia recounts the
tragic events of that war. Specifically, the article emphasizes the numerous and systematic atrocities
perpetrated by the Serb forces upon the Bosnian Muslim and Croat civilian populations throughout the
country during the course of the conflict, specifically emphasizing the genocide the Serbs committed
against the Muslim population. The article points out the international outcry that ensued against the
Serbs and their genocidal tactics was what spurred the United States to intervene militarily in Bosnia
against the Serbs under President Bill Clinton. The article notes that the atrocities and violence did not
subside until the NATO bombing campaign weakened the Serbian position in the conflict and forced
the Serbian leader Milosevic to enter peace talks. Based upon the account provided in the article, the
United States and NATO were justified in intervening in Bosnia to stop the killing of noncombatants
in my view. I believe this is the case on the basis of just war theory, as outlined by O Brien. I think it is
fairly obvious, based upon the account, that stopping the genocide and ethnic cleansing (among other
atrocities) being committed against civilians would qualify as a just cause. I think that beyond this the
Clinton administration and NATO probably had the right

Wells Fargo Case Summary
Introduction
Wells Fargo was established in 1852 by Henry Wells and Williams Fargo who joined a group of other
investors to form a transportation and banking company. In 1849, gold was discovered in California,
which encouraged a huge demand for its cross country shipping and by 1852 Wells Fargo shipped its
first consignment of gold. Wells Fargo also established merger deals with Pony expresses which made
them one of the pioneers of pony transportation. This company later expanded to a company that
offered not just pony and gold transportation services, but also offered banking services by purchasing
gold and selling paper bank drafts as good as gold. In 1905, the banking branch of the company
merged with the Nevada National Bank and established its new headquarters in San Francisco. ( Wells

Until the intent or motive is recognized, a problem cannot be described or solved. This should be a
major question to ask in the Wells Fargo case. Most workers, especially in sales and marketing jobs
are known to be compensated and promoted based on their performances (number of products and
services sold, number of set targets met). So it is possible that Wells Fargo compensation and
promotion structure motivated these employees to engage in such fraudulent acts in order to boost
their incentives and bonuses which was measured based on their performance. Because it is surprising
that such huge number of employees would engage in such acts to cheat customers for a period of five
years. Both former and current Wells Fargo employees told regulators that their motivation to open
unauthorized accounts was because of the compensation policies and felt extreme pressure to do that

The San Diego Quick Assessment
At the middle school level, it is difficult to administer extensive interminable assessments, when you
are trying to determine readability for over 100 students. Many middle school teachers rely on the
NWEA/MAP assessment and Standard of Learning to provide them with their student s Lexile levels
and readability. The problem with using data from the NWEA/MAP assessment and SOL scores is that
teachers only have data from the previous year and are unable to assess the factors that contributed to
the students testing scores. A quick and easy assessment that can be given the first week of school,
which takes 10 minutes or less and shows word recognition as well as readability is the San Diego
Quick Assessment. The San Diego quick assessment was originally devised by Margaret La pray and
Ramon Ross and published in the Journal of Reading in 1969, as a quick way to gauge a student s
readability. Words were selected for 13 grade level, Pre Primer through 11th grade by drawing words
randomly from basal reader glossaries. (Blackley) Words were also drawn from the glossaries of basic
readers and from 1931 Teacher s Word Book of 20,000 Words by E.L. Thorndike. According, to
Margaret La Pray and Ross the San Diego Quick Assessment has two uses, to determine a reading
level and to detect errors in word analysis. The test can also be used to group students for corrective
practice or to select appropriate reading materials for those students. The San Diego Assessment

operations are the jewel in the Italian company`s global operations¨. Fiat has plants in Brazil and
Argentina, and Brazil is the biggest market, well ahead of its home country market. In 2011, with the
Chrysler venture taking up more and more of the firm`s attention and as European sales suffered a
steep decline rumors began to circulate that Marchionne might move Fiat headquarters from Italy to
the United States. Discuss Fiat´s takeover of Chrysler as part of strategy to transform itself from
international business into a multinational or global business 2. What benefit does fiat hope to gain

We found innovation, cost reduction and market conditions as key elements supporting a successful
internal strategy and strategic alliance and diversification to be among the most widely applied
strategies for a foreign market penetration and development, while fusions and licenses were the least
preferred. Conclusion: Lots and lots of question marks. It all depends on how it goes. If Fiat can
pacify Chrysler, if the integration of Fiat Chrysler works, if Americans really buy smaller engine cars,
if the new platforms prove successful, if they keep their position in Brazil and manage to break into
Russia and China, if Europe recovers. However, there are good, solid reasons for hope of a better
future. Dark clouds abound, but here and there, there are rays of sunshine. They are well positioned in
some key markets. They ve established a foothold in North America. They have a big presence and are
a player in markets all over the world (except Asia). The cars are more reliable than ever before, yet
still manage to be engaging and more fun than some of the competition and most owners are satisfied.
Their new engines are renowned and studied and copied by other makers as they really do point a way
into an ever more frugal future. However, do they have the capacity to overcome the difficulties? You

Protagonist In The Storm
What Makes a Protagonist A protagonist is a literary device used to develop a story: the story revolves
around the struggle of the protagonist who may undergo a change, usually at the climax (Literary
Devices). Using this definition, deciding the protagonist ought to be straightforward; however, if the
story follows many characters who undergo some change at the climax of the story, then deciding who
the protagonist is will be a bit more complicated. In the story Sweat, Delia can easily be labelled as the
protagonist: the story, for the most part, follows her life as she tries to cope with a loveless marriage.
She does undergo a change, twice in fact, when she decides not to put up with her husband s abuse,
anymore, and when she decides not to help him when he is bitten by a rattlesnake. In The Storm,
however, deciding the protagonist is a little more murky. The story focuses on multiple characters and
two of the characters undergo a struggle and a change. Calixta and Alcée can both effectively argued
as the protagonist of their story, whereas Alcée s struggle and Calixta s character change are ... Show

Ozymandias Poem Analysis
Ozymandias is a poem written from the perspective of a man who has been told about a statue in the
desert the statue is of famous powerful pharaoh Ozymandia, but it is now crumbling and destroyed.
The poem explores how power can be arrogant and cruel, but ultimately can t last forever. The poem
however is not aztualy about ozymandais, ozymandais is just a metaphor for all kings paricullarly
George 3rd as he was in power at the time the poem was written. John agards poem, checking out e
history is written from th prespective of a boy who is taught about British history in school but not
about his own countries history. The theme of power is presented as the poem critiscizes those in
power and effectively mocks the history he has been taught aboyt in school. The poem is also about
how knowing your history is key t knowing your identity and knowing your identity empowers you.
Ozymandias power is presented as being evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial
expression sneer of cold command suggests arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues
purposely portrayed this look on his face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the
statue s pedestal: king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is.
The phrase king of kings is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of
himself as god like . Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the
description of the statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He emphasizes
how the art work has outlived and utpowered O zymandais . Through the Poem shelley ontinues to
show the poem of man weak .This contrasts with the images of art and nature, which he portrays as
being superior and long lasting through his description of the artists skills which yet survive, stamp d

Strategic Analysis Of Under Armour Case
As consultants, we decided to do a strategic analysis on Under Armour Inc., an American
manufacturer of footwear, sports and casual apparel. We selected Under Armour because of their
renowned reputation in the U.S. and because of their recent fluctuating financials. The most noticeable
fluctuation was the $100 million drop in profits, which was initially attributed to a lack of seasonal
sales in the beginning of 2017. However, we discovered that a lack of seasonal sales was not the sole
factor that contributed to the recent poor sales but that it was the recent strategic shifts by the
company. These strategic moves were categorized into four groups: Branding, Investment, Identifying
Trends and Distribution.
We, therefore, recommend that the company investment into the new growing trend of of fashionable
athletic wear apparel, focusing primarily on their female customer base. This new female apparel line
will hopefully boost future earnings by serving one of the fastest growing markets in the United
States. In addition, it will hopefully attract more female customers, who still perceive the brand as
being male centric . Through thorough analysis, we believe that this the best course of action for the
company because of several factors that contribute, but are not limited to this new trend such as the
increase in health conscious, an increase in athletic wear apparel and the growing number of active
gym members across the country.

Pan s Labyrinth is a story about of a young girl named Ofilia, goes on a hero s journey to return to the

points out that there is mystical and archetypal symbolism found throughout the movie. In the the
esoteric interpitation of pan s labyrinth the writer does a great job of pointing out many of the
architypes in the movie, but leaves out a few that I think are in the movie. The essay does a good job
of creating a summary of the movie, and then they talk about different types of architypes in the
movie. The first architype is when ofelia places the the missing eye back in t0 the monument of the
faun. This shows that Ofilia has an ability to see or believe in fairy tales, and she notices that adults do

tremendously in the 1990 s and early 2000 s. The company had big ambitions with an aggressive
program of acquisitions during this period where they spent an estimated $62 billion to purchase more
than 1,000 companies. However, unbeknownst to the shareholders of Tyco and the world, Tyco was

Organizational behavior is concerned with the study of what people do in an organization and how
their behavior affects the organization s performance. (Robbins and Timothy, 2007, p. 10). A healthy
organization responds to globalization and increasing market share by understanding its foreign
assignments, people from different cultures, managing diversity, and foreign implications. Tyco
quickly made acquisitions and developed offshore networks that were managed by executives that did
not enforce an ethical code of behavior. Tyco falsified accounting records in order to meet U.S.
standards and profitability. Tyco set their sights on strategies that would improve growth and
investments, with disregard to any type of business code of ethics or standards. Complications
surfaced that the company was not handling money correctly and top management was to blame.
Either the company did not properly train their management (especially those who handled the
financial aspects of the business) or management was not governing themselves by company policies
and procedures that would make the business successful. It appears Kozlowski and his top executives
were able to persuade many employees to overlook company policies and procedures to pursue high
margins of profitability. This demonstrates that the organizational culture and management behavior
was overlooking their ethical obligations to the shareholder, company, and employees of Tyco. They

Summary Of Kate Grenville s The Secret River
Kate Grenville s The Secret River uses characters to envision the conflicting beliefs and attitudes of
the settlement of Australia and hence, the Aboriginal Australians. Whilst not all characters dictate their
stance on the Aboriginal people, some characters make it very clear on their standpoint of the
treatment of these people. The characters of Thomas Blackwood, Smasher Sullivan and Will
Thornevill display completely ideosynatric moral behaviours, to which the other characters moral
stance lies within their bounds. Smasher is a barbaric and immoral individual of which, shows
prejudice and no respect towards the Aboriginal people. Contrasting Smasher, Blackwood s character,
radiates humanity and respect to the original owners of their new home to which he try to convince
Will of to which Will turns away for greed. The opposing characterisation of these individuals allows
the readers to interpret the matter in question faced in the text from both standpoints.
Kate Grenville s characterisation of Smasher, is one of great prejudice to the Aboriginal people.
Smasher, a cold hearted man with profound rivalry for the Aboriginals, states to have no problem
teaching a lesson to any black arse who sets foot on [his] land . He kills, kidnaps and sexually abuses
Aboriginal women and children. Readers infer Smasher s horrid nature is due to oblivion and a lack of
understanding of the Aboriginal people. Smasher believes the natives to be nothing but savages, a
common opinion shared amongst the rest of the white settlement. This fervour of superiority was
shared by a vast majority of the white settlement. This is demonstrated when Smasher begins to
demand that the Aboriginals should be rid of after the death his friend, even though to double
standards Smasher and his friend were responsible for these actions that took place: We ll poison em,
with the green stuff . Moreover, The double standards that were set in place was due to this supposed
white dominance, due to the belief that the blacks life had little to no meaning at all compared to a
white s: They ain t worth nothin . Readers were lead to believe by this that the settlers had no
tolerance or patience for the aboriginals in turn refusing to learn to respect

Character Sarty In Abner Snopes
The main character, Sarty, is the son of a poor, migrant, sharecropper named Abner Snopes. Being a
sharecropper, Abner has to to divvy up half to two thirds of the harvest he reaps with the landowner, in
return for a roof over his family s heads, food, water, use of the land, etc.. During the late 1800 s, one
could only imagine how difficult it must have been to lift oneself out of poverty; and for the Snopes,
there was presumably no hope for advancement from the start. Abner knew what their future will hold

uneducated ten year old, and the idea of him being alone in the world is quite intimidating, he seems
to have a good head on his shoulders. After all, he is becoming a man, and that is apparent as the story
progresses. A simple example of Sarty s maturity is the change from calling Abner , Paps , to calling
him, Father , towards the end of the story. The informal, paps , indicates a loving relationship between
a father and child, while the formal, father , is often used by those who are more mature. It is curious

Pricing Strategy A Pricing Dilemma Why is the price of a 1 year INSEAD MBA £49,000 while the
price of a higher ranked 2 year London Business School MBA is £57,000? vs. Kunal S. Shah, MBA
2012 April 6, 2012 Introduction The MBA program was introduced for the first time in the United
States in the early 20 th Century and was modeled on the basis of the prevalent 2 year graduate
programs. It gained significant traction after its inception, however was later criticized for its lack of
practical relevance. It was often said that MBA was too academic, too theoretical and divorced from

However, given the theory of economies of scale, we can assume that INSEAD s costs per year related
to students are approximately 1.5 than that of LBS. Specifically, we could adjust Staff costs , External
Teaching Costs and Programme catering and accommodation by this factor. Total adjustment: based
on these two changes results shows that INSEAD incurs additional expense of £58 m. However, due
to the larger class size, this cost gets spread across a larger student base. As a result, when LBS s total
cost is normalized to assume the same student volume as that of INSEAD, LBS s total adjusted cost
can be estimated to be £77 m or 42% greater than that of INSEAD. In summary, the lower price per
year at LBS cannot be explained due to potential differences in cost, as the adjusted cost of offering
the MBA program at LBS is an estimated 42% greater than that offered at INSEAD. The Role of
Consumer Behavior As discussed above, given costs cannot explain the variance in price, another
explanation to this dilemma could be found on the consumer or demand side. More specifically, the
willingness to pay for an MBA degree, whether 1 or 2 years maybe a certain level that the potential
market may not be willing to comprise on. Pricing Dilemma LBS vs. INSEAD Page 3 To assess

Minimum Wage Is An Issue That Is Causing Uproar Amongst...

Minimum wage is an issue that is causing uproar amongst working class citizens. For many workers, a
simple increase of 30% in the federal minimum wage could be the difference between living in or out
of poverty. Over the past few decades there have been countless increases in salaries, although none of
those went to people who actually needed it. To this day the rich continue to get richer, vastly
increasing their wealth, while the poor are struggling to provide basic necessities such as food, shelter,
and clothing. While the rich keep get richer and the poor continue getting poorer, we have seen a
decrease in the middle class; median income has turned into upper or lower middle class. Establishing
legislation that provides workers with a wage that is able to sustain simple necessities is necessary, it
would provide ample support for those who may not have been able to afford living to take a step
away from poverty and move into the middle class.
The minimum wage was set with the passage of The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA). Its
initial price point was $0.25 per hour, and it has been raised twenty two times since. It allowed for
federal protections against employers like minimum wage, overtime pay for time worked over a set
number of hours in a workweek, restrictions on the employment of children, and recordkeeping
requirements (uc davis). In that year, the act applied to industries whose

How St. Thomas Aquinas s Teachings Have Affected Me
How St. Thomas Aquinas s Teachings have Affected Me St. Thomas Aquinas was one of the most
profound and prolific writers of his time, and his teachings I feel continue to resonate today. In fact,
one of his teachers, St. Albert the Great, once said of him, We call this young man a dumb ox, but his
bellowing in doctrine will one day resound throughout the world. This only understates the effect this
one man has had through the legacy he left behind. His works continue to inspire many, myself

St. Thomas Aquinas further explains something, that I feel is very important to understand in terms of
one s morality. He says, while all human beings lead their lives towards the ultimate end, being God, it
is how one will walk that path that will determine our eternal life. In this path, he refers to the
importance of prudence. For it is prudence that allows one to choose the path that is right before God.
Prudence, can therefore be described as one of the most important virtues one can have according to
Thomas Aquinas. Having researched his works and his views on prudence, I now feel it is important to
re evaluate my own moral living, in order to place a much greater emphasis on prudent living as it
allows one to come closer to God and catch glimpses of His perfection. Therefore, I feel one of the
most significant ways St. Thomas Aquinas has bettered my understanding of moral and ethical living,
is through the importance of prudence, a virtue he obviously held in high regard. The second way by
which St. Thomas Aquinas has influenced my understanding of moral and ethical living is through his
teachings on temperance. Temperance is to seek pleasure rationally as Aquinas puts it. Not only does
he speak much about this virtue in moral living, but he certainly lived it out. In his time in school, he
was teased by his classmates, being called a dumb ox, for his seemingly shy and bashful disposition.

Superhero Influence On American Culture

those adults who thought their child acting rude was caused by comics, a sign of the decline of comic
books, thus making the industry fall into consensus and conformity. Ever since the first comic book

Lone Survivor Movie Ethical Dilemma
Ethical Dilemma on the Battlefield: Analysis of Lone Survivor Scene Military personnel operating in
combat missions must maintain mental and situational awareness of their area of operations. This
includes a complete understanding of their physical and doctrinal training. Besides accomplishing
their mission, soldiers must also consider the rules of engagement and the personal and professional
ethics, values and morals that factor into their decisions in high stress environments (Allen, 2013).
Well planned missions will never be executed perfectly. Due to human nature, soldiers may be faced
with an ethical dilemma. Ethical dilemma comprises an individual selecting the most effective course
of action, identifying the different courses presented and realization that any one principle will be
conceded (Allen, 2013). In the movie, Lone Survivor, 4 Navy Seals were conducting recon for a high

Fault In Our Stars Symbolism
In The Fault in Our Star, Hazel is obsessed with a novel called An Imperial Affliction. An Imperial
Affliction plays an important role in the novel and is symbolic in various ways, such as how it relates
to Hazel s own life. An Imperial Affliction is about a young girl named Anna, who has a rare type of
blood cancer. The book ends mid sentence because either Anna is too sick to write anymore or because
she died. An Imperial Affliction plays an essential position in the novel and its plot. It is similar to
Hazel s life and Hazel, herself, is passionate about it and desires to know the ending to it. John Green,
the author of The Fault in Our Stars, puts a metanovel in the book for several reasons. All in all, An
Imperial Affliction plays a major role in the book, relates to Hazel s life in numerous ways, and the
author had countless reasons to place it within the book.

I think he put a novel within a novel because it is a symbol. An Imperial Affliction is a symbol in
many ways and makes the readers think on a deeper level than people usually do. It questions the
value of fiction and whether fiction has any true worth in reality. It makes readers think about the
afterlife and whether people still live on afterwards. It is not a normal book about cancer, as Hazel
says, and it tells about a real life not like normal cancer books. I also think he wrote a metanovel
because it is also a metaphor and metaphors are a big theme in The Fault in Our Stars. It is a metaphor
of how fiction can have a greater value. It also contributes to the theme of fiction versus reality and
the healing power of fiction. It also plays an immense role in the novel s plot. All in all, John Green
puts a metanovel in the book because it allows people to think on a deeper level, contributes to various
themes in the novel, and play a huge role in the novel s

  • 4. Impact Of The Industrial Revolution On The World Essay Since the first time an image was transported to a laptop screen or a handheld device was used to communicate to people in other countries, the world has been a system of calls, emails, texts, and networks that are all categorized under the term technology. We started off with technology that helped us forage for food or manage our livestock. However, tech today is a basis of telecommunications and the use of different mechanical mechanisms that are seemingly robotic. How far we have come from the beginning of the first civilizations to what we are able to do now illustrates the impact of the industrial revolution and, some may say, tech revolution. We are still booming and at every corner that is turned new advancements are introduced into society that was not thought about before. It seems that we should be all tech savvy and a life without technology would be a little unnerving to say the least. Others say that this dependence makes robots or us less human. Throughout the research conducted on technology, there were news articles assumingly concluding that we are humans merging with technology and turning into robots and another similarly arguing that we need to become cyborgs or risk humans being turned into robots. These may not be scholarly articles but are interesting to see and notice the perspective that people believe to be true. The extremely absurd notion that we are so heavily dependent on technology that we will turn into robots may actually be true. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are a multitude of lifestyle discrepancies between suburban and country living, and I suspected that this would be evident in the retail food options offered. Columbia grocery stores are either large big box grocers or small regional stores. These stores historically service more conventional food options. Franklin s larger and more affluent population allows for more diversity in alternative and health food stores. I chose to observe a local Kroger Grocery Store in Columbia, and contrasted that shopping experience with Sprouts Farmer s Market in Franklin. The separate shopping experiences elucidated that retail food options are contingent on the expectations, comprehension and financial flexibility of the customers and the stores. I visited the Kroger Grocery Store around eight on Sunday morning. The patron demographic was primarily older than 55 and African American. The store has provided groceries for the community for at least fifteen years. The store was clean and organized, but there was a slight dingy appearance that comes with older stores. What would become known as the Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and most of the Allied powers. However, the United States did not do so. Both liberal and conservative opposition as well as the behavior and actions of President Wilson significantly contributed to the defeat of the Treaty of Versailles in the United States. • 25. Protagonist In The Storm What Makes a Protagonist A protagonist is a literary device used to develop a story: the story revolves around the struggle of the protagonist who may undergo a change, usually at the climax (Literary Devices). Using this definition, deciding the protagonist ought to be straightforward; however, if the story follows many characters who undergo some change at the climax of the story, then deciding who the protagonist is will be a bit more complicated. In the story Sweat, Delia can easily be labelled as the protagonist: the story, for the most part, follows her life as she tries to cope with a loveless marriage. She does undergo a change, twice in fact, when she decides not to put up with her husband s abuse, anymore, and when she decides not to help him when he is bitten by a rattlesnake. Ozymandias Poem Analysis Ozymandias is a poem written from the perspective of a man who has been told about a statue in the desert the statue is of famous powerful pharaoh Ozymandia, but it is now crumbling and destroyed. The poem explores how power can be arrogant and cruel, but ultimately can t last forever. The poem however is not aztualy about ozymandais, ozymandais is just a metaphor for all kings paricullarly George 3rd as he was in power at the time the poem was written. John agards poem, checking out e history is written from th prespective of a boy who is taught about British history in school but not about his own countries history. The theme of power is presented as the poem critiscizes those in power and effectively mocks the history he has been taught aboyt in school. The poem is also about how knowing your history is key t knowing your identity and knowing your identity empowers you. Ozymandias power is presented as being evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial expression sneer of cold command suggests arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues purposely portrayed this look on his face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the statue s pedestal: king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is. The phrase king of kings is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of himself as god like . Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the description of the statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He emphasizes how the art work has outlived and utpowered O zymandais . Through the Poem shelley ontinues to show the poem of man weak .This contrasts with the images of art and nature, which he portrays as being superior and long lasting through his description of the artists skills which yet survive, stamp d on these lifeless things, and the neverending landscape boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away. • 27. Strategic Analysis Of Under Armour Case As consultants, we decided to do a strategic analysis on Under Armour Inc., an American manufacturer of footwear, sports and casual apparel. We selected Under Armour because of their renowned reputation in the U.S. and because of their recent fluctuating financials. The most noticeable fluctuation was the $100 million drop in profits, which was initially attributed to a lack of seasonal sales in the beginning of 2017. However, we discovered that a lack of seasonal sales was not the sole factor that contributed to the recent poor sales but that it was the recent strategic shifts by the company. These strategic moves were categorized into four groups: Branding, Investment, Identifying Trends and Distribution. We, therefore, recommend that the company investment into the new growing trend of of fashionable athletic wear apparel, focusing primarily on their female customer base. This new female apparel line will hopefully boost future earnings by serving one of the fastest growing markets in the United States. In addition, it will hopefully attract more female customers, who still perceive the brand as being male centric . Through thorough analysis, we believe that this the best course of action for the company because of several factors that contribute, but are not limited to this new trend such as the increase in health conscious, an increase in athletic wear apparel and the growing number of active gym members across the country. 1. Summary Of Kate Grenville s The Secret River Kate Grenville s The Secret River uses characters to envision the conflicting beliefs and attitudes of the settlement of Australia and hence, the Aboriginal Australians. Whilst not all characters dictate their stance on the Aboriginal people, some characters make it very clear on their standpoint of the treatment of these people. The characters of Thomas Blackwood, Smasher Sullivan and Will Thornevill display completely ideosynatric moral behaviours, to which the other characters moral stance lies within their bounds. Smasher is a barbaric and immoral individual of which, shows prejudice and no respect towards the Aboriginal people. Contrasting Smasher, Blackwood s character, radiates humanity and respect to the original owners of their new home to which he try to convince Will of to which Will turns away for greed. The opposing characterisation of these individuals allows the readers to interpret the matter in question faced in the text from both standpoints. Kate Grenville s characterisation of Smasher, is one of great prejudice to the Aboriginal people. Smasher, a cold hearted man with profound rivalry for the Aboriginals, states to have no problem teaching a lesson to any black arse who sets foot on [his] land . He kills, kidnaps and sexually abuses Aboriginal women and children. Readers infer Smasher s horrid nature is due to oblivion and a lack of understanding of the Aboriginal people. Smasher believes the natives to be nothing but savages, a common opinion shared amongst the rest of the white settlement. This fervour of superiority was shared by a vast majority of the white settlement. This is demonstrated when Smasher begins to demand that the Aboriginals should be rid of after the death his friend, even though to double standards Smasher and his friend were responsible for these actions that took place: We ll poison em, with the green stuff . Moreover, The double standards that were set in place was due to this supposed white dominance, due to the belief that the blacks life had little to no meaning at all compared to a white s: They ain t worth nothin . Specifically, we could adjust Staff costs , External Teaching Costs and Programme catering and accommodation by this factor. Total adjustment: based on these two changes results shows that INSEAD incurs additional expense of £58 m. However, due to the larger class size, this cost gets spread across a larger student base. As a result, when LBS s total cost is normalized to assume the same student volume as that of INSEAD, LBS s total adjusted cost can be estimated to be £77 m or 42% greater than that of INSEAD. In summary, the lower price per year at LBS cannot be explained due to potential differences in cost, as the adjusted cost of offering the MBA program at LBS is an estimated 42% greater than that offered at INSEAD. The Role of Consumer Behavior As discussed above, given costs cannot explain the variance in price, another explanation to this dilemma could be found on the consumer or demand side. Yimaj Sherif ENG 1520 Dr.James 16 August 2015 Minnsincsndcdcsdc Minimum wage is an issue that is causing uproar amongst working class citizens. For many workers, a simple increase of 30% in the federal minimum wage could be the difference between living in or out of poverty. Over the past few decades there have been countless increases in salaries, although none of those went to people who actually needed it. To this day the rich continue to get richer, vastly increasing their wealth, while the poor are struggling to provide basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. While the rich keep get richer and the poor continue getting poorer, we have seen a decrease in the middle class; median income has turned into upper or lower middle class. Establishing legislation that provides workers with a wage that is able to sustain simple necessities is necessary, it would provide ample support for those who may not have been able to afford living to take a step away from poverty and move into the middle class. The minimum wage was set with the passage of The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA). Its initial price point was $0.25 per hour, and it has been raised twenty two times since. It allowed for federal protections against employers like minimum wage, overtime pay for time worked over a set number of hours in a workweek, restrictions on the employment of children, and recordkeeping requirements (uc davis). He says, while all human beings lead their lives towards the ultimate end, being God, it is how one will walk that path that will determine our eternal life. In this path, he refers to the importance of prudence. For it is prudence that allows one to choose the path that is right before God. Prudence, can therefore be described as one of the most important virtues one can have according to Thomas Aquinas. Having researched his works and his views on prudence, I now feel it is important to re evaluate my own moral living, in order to place a much greater emphasis on prudent living as it allows one to come closer to God and catch glimpses of His perfection. Therefore, I feel one of the most significant ways St. Thomas Aquinas has bettered my understanding of moral and ethical living, is through the importance of prudence, a virtue he obviously held in high regard. The second way by which St. Thomas Aquinas has influenced my understanding of moral and ethical living is through his teachings on temperance. Temperance is to seek pleasure rationally as Aquinas puts it. Not only does he speak much about this virtue in moral living, but he certainly lived it out.
