Analysis Of The Movie Waiting For Superman
Danny kinder key Waiting for Superman
2010 Mr. Davis Guggenheim an American film director and producer wrote and directed Waiting for
Superman , a documentary that deals with the American education system. Guggenheim argues that
they are failing more each year in producing successful students. He finds where the faults are within
the public educational system. He takes the time to show us some of the faces to those numbers to
make his pubic realize they are more than just numbers dropping off the charts. He wishes to not only
inform, but also to inspire others to act. This essay expresses how he portrays his arguments
effectively; also identifying and analyzing the strategies that Guggenheim uses to organize and
develop his ideas and determine who his intended audience is.
Guggenheim successfully persuades his audience, first by using the ethos appeal. He does this by
opening his film by explaining that as parent, he also worries and cares for the success of his own
children and is very aware of the degradation of the public education. He is also being fair minded as
he opens up about a previous film he created where he was actually supporting the idea that public
schools worked. Although he held those beliefs up so highly once, he s now changed opinion.
Guggenheim sincerely expressing why this has happened saying, Ten years later, it was time to choose
a school for my own children...and then reality set in. My feelings about

Border Wall Barriers
One of the most disastrous promise made by president Trump was the border wall between Mexico
and United States. President Trump s defense of his extreme policy was to control the illegal
immigration of many Mexican citizens into the United States. They Mexican public was very much
outraged by this decision and they were very disappointed at the part where President Trump
said,Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto showed this
disappointment by cancelling his appointment with Mr Trump. This initiative is crushing good cultural
and social relationships between two countries. This crushes the ancient cultures which survive near
the border of the two countries. President Trump s initiative of building a wall to divide U.S and
Mexico is negatively influencing the cultural relations between the government of the United States
and the Mexican government. This initiative may also cost United States one of its closest allies:
Mexico.
Author Felbab Brown explained in her article THE WALL:The real costs of a barrier between the
United States and Mexico that The border on which the wall is to be built cuts through ... tribal
homelands and separates tribal members from their relatives and their sacred sites, while also
sundering them from the natural environment which is crucial not just to their livelihoods but to their
cultural and religious identity (Felbab Brown, 2017). She claims that building a wall between the two
countries is going to

Usf Case Labeling
Standard operating procedures are built around detailed actions and functions within any operation.
Although USF has a documented standard operating procedure, it is an injustice to both the
membership and the company when employees are not trained in the detailed methodologies for
which they are to perform.
During the week of the audit, many order selectors were observed performing tasks above and beyond
those stated in the company s documented preferred methods.

The true cause of one s substandard performance must be identified and researched as to the effect of
any system errors which may have occurred during the production week, and to ensure all down time
has been allocated for the employee throughout the time period in question. Employees may be at no
fault when put into a working environment for which they have no control, especially if placed into a
situation where the work load is not reflective of the conditions the standard was meant to represent.
Members that are performing tasks that are not a part of their regular bid positions are most
susceptible, and are more likely to be hindered by these working conditions. There is a very high
probability that if one is put into these conditions that the delay allowance especially during the
summer months could in fact be much greater than the frequencies and allowances are meant to
represent for that period of time. Members and Local 104 should request all documentation and

Articles Of Confederation And Decentralization Of The States
Under the Articles of Confederation, the United States government was decentralized. The states had
more power than the federal government. State governments had the power to tax but the federal
government did not (Janda 62). This caused congress to have to beg for money from the states in order
to pay for the cost of the Revolutionary War and the cost of starting a new nation. Another issue under
the Articles of Confederation was the lack of economic control the federal government had on the
states (63). The national government attempted to restrict foreign imports but the states did not listen
and continued making deals with foreign countries. This caused debt and bankruptcy to fall upon
numerous states. The Articles of Confederation also

The Merger Between United and Continental Airline
Introduction
As I was thinking about the two companies that I wanted to do for my course project on, I began to
research companies on the internet and I ran across the merger between United and Continental
airlines. The reason that I choose to do the merger is because I knew that they were going to go
through many changes within this merger. Both airline companies have a lot to offer to each other with
this merger that they can compete with Delta airlines one of the largest airline in the world. This
merger will bring about several changes within both companies. In this paper I will be providing the
different changes between both companies with the merger including the culture, systems and unions.
Since they were two different companies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reservation agents at United are a having a difficult time with Continentals system although they
have gone through an excessive amount of training for the system they are still having a hard time
mastering it. Although the systems of United airlines have been converted into Continental there were
an big issue as to were United was not able to print out boarding passes for their customer. They were
very quick in thinking they printed out the boarding passes manual in order to service their customer.
They also contracted their customer who had mileage plus to inform them of the issue at hand.( United
airlines issues, 2012)
Union Changes 2
The last change is the differences in the unions. Both airlines have different unions for their
employees. United pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants are under AFA, maintenance is under IBT,
mechanics are under IBT, ramp is under IAM, dispatcher are under PAFCA, engineers are under
IFPTE, pubic contract employee are under IAM. Continental pilots are under ALFA, flight attendants
are under IAM, maintenance is under IBT, and ramp is under IBT. As you can see some of the unions
are the same for both airlines, however the pilots have reached an agreement and both under the ALFA
union. They CEO will have to work hard at getting both companies under the same unions other wise
they would not be united as one Airline

policies that companies establish as rules that must be followed in order to ensure the flow of the

and policies are developed in accordance with the type of activity of each company. The activity of
Lockheed Martin is of great interest because of the implications it has on several industry sectors. The

Edward Theodore Gein
Edward Theodore Gein America s Most Infamous Murderer
Although tallying just two deaths, Ed Gein is one of America s most infamous murderers. His
notorious killings are remembered as being among the most perverse of any this century. His lunatic
atrocities were magnified by the number of victims who fell prey to his sick deeds and who also
fueled his numerous habits of cannibalism, necrophilia of women, and his obsession with the female
body, especially his mother, Augusta Gein. Although clearly guilty for the acts Gein committed,
psychiatrists were confident in their conclusion of his insanity. As is in many cases, Gein s birth of
insanity started in childhood.

In 1914 disgusted by the depravity (Taylor) of the town she decided to move the family to a 195 acre
farm deep in rural Wisconsin, where the family lived quietly for about 25 years. In 1940 George Gein
died, leaving Augusta with Henry, 38 and Ed, 34 who worked as handymen in nearby Plainfield to pay
the household bills. Henry would frequently bad mouth his mother within earshot of Ed, who
remained a stalwart devotee of the matriarch (Schechter 32). In May 1944 a fire broke out in the brush
near the Geins farm. When the fire department turned up, Ed said his brother was missing but he led
them directly to the spot where Henry lay, covered in soot. The police chose to ignore two marks on
the back of his head and put Henry s death down to him being asphyxiated by fumes as he fought the
fire. Whether Ed had anything to do with his brother s death remains a mystery to this day.
For a year Ed and his mother lived alone together in the big old farmhouse. While her health
deteriorated, Ed was ecstatic that he finally had his mother to himself; sometimes they would even
sleep in the same bed together. So when Augusta developed cancer and died on December 29, 1945
after a series of strokes Ed was devastated, and became increasingly deranged after her death. Gein

The Wrestler, By Darren Aronofsky Essay
The human condition, or what it means to be human, is a term the encoumpasses the innate and
unchangable aspects of human nature. It is the unique and inherent features of being human,
uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through
literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth has
given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible
overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and
personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The Wrestler,
due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and speaks to the
audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler, Randy, in the
twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic characteristics that define
the human condition such as humans need for relationships and connections, search for recognition,
and awareness of the inevitability of death. Cormac McCarthy s The Road is an exemplary novel
which discusses the human condition and where these ideas are also seen. Texts that explore what it
means to be human are most compelling as they impart knowledge about aspects of human nature that
reside in us all, and rous strong feelings of interest among the reader or audience. Sociality is essential

Film Industry Analysis Paper
The movie making industry remains a vital part of popular culture and still has a large amount of
investors and buyers. Buyers, tend to be large cinemas or retail chains to small independent cinemas
or shops. The suppliers to the movie industry are the ones that help deliver the crew and equipment, as
well as the actors, directors and writers.
Buyer power:
In the United States, like some other countries, companies can legally operate in both the production
and distribution areas. An example of this is Walt Disney Company, they produce motion pictures
(including Marvel, Pixar and Lucas film brands) distributes DVDs to retailers and also sell through
Disney stores, as well as being a part owner of the online streaming service, Hulu
(www.marketline.com). Buyers in this market range in size, but the large buyers have higher
negotiation power. Producers of big budget films such as the loss making The Lone Ranger (2013),
which had a production budget of around $225m and a $150m marketing budget, are clearly reliant on
strong box office sales to break ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these companies are Apple, Netflix, Amazon and so many others like these. Some of the
companies that create films like Disney have simply created an online service called Hulu, which I
mentioned earlier. One of the most concerning threats are illegal downloading, better known as piracy.
This affects greatly the companies in the movie industry because not only people can see the movies
the company are producing it but for free and not giving any income to the company. For this reason it
had become crime to which there are big consequences if you were to get caught (International journal
of arts management). Since these laws have been enforced it has had little effect on the companies
revenue, like the example of Paranormal Activities. Therefore, threat of substitutes is evaluated as

Research Paper On Dog Park
Will a dog park be a postive addition to Muscatine, or will it be a negative addition? This is the
question currently being asked. Both sides of the party make a very good argument. From it being a
postive way for dogs to let out their energy and socialize, to it being a negative disruption for tax
payers and surrounding residents of the dog park. My personal opinion is the dog park should be
contructed, and here are some supporting reasons why.
As stated in the first passage, dogs need to be socialized with other dogs to be a good dog at home and
outside of its home. If a dog is not properly socialized it can easily lead to a aggressive or reserved
dog. At home i have a dog of my own which whom I adopted from a shelter. When I first attained him
he was very shy and skittish, especially around other dogs. However after taking him to our local dog
park and into different stores that allow your dog to accompany you, his behavior started to change.
He slowly started to become less shy and now wants to play with every dog he sees. If dogs have a
place to socialize, this will then lead to less of them in the shelter which will also lead to less money

paragraph four of the Dog Park Benefits All passage, it states a dog park would mean less people

prohibited places makes much more of a disturbance. You dont want to go to park to relax and be
disturbed by dogs running around and barking. Nor do you want to come home to find someone has

The Plight Of Intensive Agriculture

The Plight of Intensive Agriculture
Agriculture has faced some of the most significant challenges in recent years. Major challenges
include: the rapid growth of the human population, and the increased demand for agricultural land and
environmental costs of non renewable resources. The current industrial agriculture system consumes
water, and topsoil at unsustainable rates. It contributes to numerous forms of environmental
degradation, including water pollution, soil depletion, and diminishing biodiversity. The following
environmental problems are associated with prevailing production methods: Synthetic chemical
pesticides and fertilizers are polluting soil, water, and air. Soil is ... Show more content on

In 1990, It is estimated that since World War II, poor farming practices had damaged about 550
million hectares an area equivalent to 38% of all farmland in use today (Oldman et al.28) . Industrial
agriculture endangers soil health because it depends on heavy machinery that compacts the soil,
destroying soil structure and killing beneficial organisms in the soil food web. Soil conservation is a
key integral part in sustainability since it takes many years for soil to naturally form. Despite the
simplicity of industrial monoculture farming, the practice itself does not provide any measures to
conserve topsoil. If farmers do not take part in protecting soil fertility, more farmable lands will be
lost, resulting in food production decline.
Agriculture affects water resources in two ways: irrigating fields using surface waters or aquifers
diverts water from other potential uses; and when farming practices pollute surface waters and
aquifers, they reduce the amount of water that is suitable for other uses. The US Environmental
Protection Agency has blamed current farming practices for 70% of the pollution in the nation s rivers
and streams. The agency reports that runoff of chemicals, silt, and animal waste from US farmland has
polluted more than 173,000 miles of waterways. Agriculture accounts for about two thirds of all water
use worldwide, far exceeding industrial and municipal use (Spooler 310). In many parts of the world,
irrigation is depleting

The most of global energy production produces from fossil fuel such as coal, oil and natural gas. The
vast fossil fuels generate energy which use for many purposes for instant residential, transportation
and industrial sectors. While the rate consumption of fossil fuel higher than their formation leads to oil
price crisis. Another concern of fossil fuel combustion is the impact on the environment. Global
warming is a significant problem which results in increasing concentrations of greenhouse gas in the
atmosphere. These problems drive researchers and societies to search alternative energy such as

development of renewable energy sources, which would not decrease the stock of fossil fuel resources

energies such as biofuel and wind power, which have a great potential energy to produce enough
power for the world s population demand.
This essay focuses on two renewable energy resources. First of all, biofuel is now accepted as

annual growth rate of 6.8% from 2006 to 2030 is expected for total biofuels consumption in the

leaders of the biofuel market are Brazil, the United States and the European Union. The results of
research indicated that 92% of the world s ethanol is produced by Brazil and US together, while 90%
of the world s biodiesel manufactured by the EU. In addition, several developing countries in Asia
such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines have an enormous potential for biofuel

How Diversity Consciousness Will Change The Way People...

How Diversity Consciousness Will Change the Way People View Differences and Aid Me in a
Successful Future
Diversity consciousness can be defined as consistently learning about and being welcoming of
diversity. This includes understanding, expressing empathy, as well as integrating diverse elements
and people into life, school, and the workplace. Not only does this promote fairness and equality but it
also helps us become more successful people. Everyone comes from a different background and has
different life experiences, and if we work together and learn from each other it will help us become
better educated.
Today we have many states that still have a ban on same sex marriage and the top news story of the
past month has been about transgender bathroom rights. You would think that in this day and age these
topics would be non issues. Sadly though, they are examples of how people view differences today.
Many people, for whatever reason, try to hold back from making change and see it as a negative thing.
Due to this, I think that the first step when promoting diversity consciousness should be explaining
how it is a positive thing and will benefit us in building a livelier future. I believe that if we continue
to educate people on the benefits of diversity and encourage various diverse groups to stop avoiding
change and work together we can start to embrace change. Then we can begin to see differences as an
asset rather than a hindrance.

King Creon In Sophocles Antigone
While reading the Greek play Antigone , written by the playwright Sophocles, one sees that a few of
the characters can be related back to the reader/watcher of the play. For instance, many people can
identify with the protagonist Antigone through her incomparable dedication in following the laws of
beings of greater power. Others might identify with the wise Tiresias, whose wisdom and advice is
given and taught across the land. However, for a fifteen year old boy such as I, I identify the most with
the antagonist of the play, King Creon. The way that Creon manages his problems, very reminiscent to

To be able to speak confidently and know what you are talking about is one of the most important
abilities that one needs to convince others to join their cause. Just as King Creon did in his reign over
Thebes, I am able to use my words to the fullest. To cite the play that we had read in class, Creon says:
Polyneices, who broke his exile to come back with fire and sword against his native city and the
shrines of his father s gods, whose one idea was to spill the blood of his blood and sell his own people
into slavery (1, 34 37). When one reads Antigone without first reading the plays Oedipus and Oedipus
at Colonus, what Creon says isn t all that strange. Even so, if one has looked through the first two
plays, one realizes that Creon has used his words to completely change the way that Polyneices is
viewed by the townsfolk. Creon was able to use his words to persuade others into believing that one of
the sons of their old king was attacking Thebes to deface their gods and sell all of them into slavery. In
this sense of character, Creon and I are homogenous beings. Identical to Creon, I can wrap people

immigration has been an issue in the United States depending on how we look at it since this country
was founded. President Obama and the Democrats fought for the DREAM Act, legislation ensuring
that young people who want to contribute fully to our society and serve our country are able to
become legal residents and ultimately citizens. Although this bill has a long history of bipartisan
support, Republicans decided to play politics with it rather than do the right thing. So the Obama
administration provided temporary relief for youth who came to the United States as children, through
no fault of their own, grew up as Americans and are poised to make a real contribution to our country

This is a subject that will be at the forefront of the 2016 presidential elections because while there are
illegal immigrants in this country there is also those of which came to this country legally and should
be treated as working class Americans.
Not only do these illegal immigrants come from Mexico but Canada as well as many other countries, I
personally feel that we should not only target one nationality or minority that breaks these laws. Just
because we re and unequivocal and supportive country doesn t mean we can take everybody. People
need to know there are legal ways to come to this country and they need to follow these laws. Many
economists say the effect of illegal immigration is an estimated 11 million undocumented workers is
minimal (http://immigration.procon.org/view.answers.php?questionID=000788). Illegal immigration
has many negative effects, one of them being that illegal immigrants don t pay income taxes but

Analysis Of Restricted Boltzmann Machines
Analysis of RNNs revealed that the hidden to output function, hidden to hidden transition, and input to
hidden function must be made deeper [3]. Based on the following input sequence: x = (x1; : : : ; xT), a
standard RNN is responsible for computing the vector sequence: h = (h1; : : : ; hT) as well as the
output vector sequence: y = (y1; : : : ; yT) using two equations (depicted below) from t = 1 to T [3].
(1) ht = H(Wxhxt+Whhht 1+bh) (2) yt = Whyht+by H. Restricted Boltzmann Machines An RBM is a
specialized Boltzmann Machine comprised of two respective layers, a layer of visible and hidden
units, without hidden hidden and visible visible connections. Each hidden and visible unit within the

Apothéloz s proposal is of importance in understanding the artificial intelligence models of
argumentation since it coincides with the properties of a square of opposition [6]. Fig. 5. The square of

well as E and I both serve as negations of each other (2) A and E entails, I and O, respectively (3)
Although A and E cannot be true together, A and E can be false together I and O cannot be false

the presenter feels about the subject material being presented. This analysis helps the NLP formulate a
more accurate and appropriate response. Many sentimental analyses work by looking at each
sentiments of the sentence by giving positive or negative points to each word. Points are then summed
up for each sentence and based on that score it is deemed either positive, negative, or neutral. But
sentiments are often very subtle and cannot be detected using simple point analysis [1]. To better grasp
sentiments in NSL computer scientist once again turned to the deep learning process and developed a
tree structured long short term memory analysis (LSTM). LSTM combines deep learning with the
points system. After the deep learning process has assigned meaning to a word it is given a weight
based upon positive or negative feel. It is then placed

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Jv and Ws
1. Introduction The aim of this essay is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a
wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) instead of a joint venture (JV). There are numerous studies and
research papers done on which entry mode is best in different situations, but there is no simple task
deciding which is the best unless one can see into the future. JV and WOS are two completely
different entry modes with their distinct down and upsides. Entering a new market gives both great
opportunities and involves high risk. There is much at stake but if one choose wrong entry mode it can
cost the company tremendously, that is why one should not take this decision based on a few factors.
The globalisation has given companies a bigger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If both companies in the partnership feel it is a win win situation the chance for success is bigger, and
if they fail the cost will not be as devastating, the amount of risk is at a minimum compared to a WOS
(Morschet, Schramm Klein, Zentes, 2010). 2.4 The disadvantages of JVs Being partners is not always
easy, and it takes time and a lot of effort to build up a strong relationship between two companies.
There are many uncertainties around partnerships, the partner can have a hidden agenda and have an
opportunistic behavior (Aswathappa, 2010). The goal or objective for the partnership can be unclear
and makes it difficult to know when they have succeeded. If there is an unbalance in the level of
investment, effort or expertise the other partner can feel they are not getting what they expected. Many
get caught up in endless conflicts, and often these issues are based on cultural differences. Most of
these problems are management issues, but sometimes the company s management can agree on every
point but the employers do not get enough information (businesslink.gov.uk). Without thorough
research and effective communication the employers can start to working against the integration. 3.
Discussion Setting up a WOS or JV can be a difficult choice but by doing a solid market research and
an intern research of their own company the choice should be easier. If a company want to enter a
foreign market

The Effects of Culture on the Economic Development of Cities
Thorough analytic research on the impacts of culture risks are hampered by complexity of such
concepts of art and culture. Culture is by no means easy to master. There are major obstacles in efforts
to streamline the information for the economic impacts of culture. In most general terms, culture is
defined as set of beliefs and values, shared way of doing and understanding things which ties a
community and is formed by the development of that community. Apart from art and heritage culture
includes tradition and religious, way of life, human rights and values.
In this project we are concerned with effects of those cultural activities on the patterns of economic
development of cities. Two analyses have become accepted in the academics. First, we will consider
culture as a product, which raises questions regarding the production, the consumption and the
economic value of culture as well as cultural use as a tool for urban generation and place marketing.
This is category is more closely to the tangible elements of culture. Second, culture as a process which
leads to creative thinking to distinctive patterns of social organization and economic growth. This
covers intangible aspects.
Here, culture is conceived to be cultural activities in broad sense. Activities incorporated within
culture are those dealing with production, dissemination and trading and for education. Cultural goods
and services are in following domains:
Cultural heritage
Visual arts
Architecture

Compare And Contrast Camaro Vs Ford Mustang
A Lot of people argue about what car is better the Ford Mustang or the Chevy Camaro. To a lot of
people the Camero is better but not to me. The Ford Mustang has a lot of features better than the
camaro. In the first place, I think a mustang is better because it s been around for 11 years longer than
the camaro. Plus as far as the new ones go they re more visually appealing with curves and soft lines
while the new camaros are very square with hard lines. Especially the dashboard is a little too tall for
my taste and it s a more expensive car. In the second place, On U.S News.com it states that the
mustang has been an American icon since Ford introduced it as a 2 seat concept car built on the
compact Ford Falcon platform in 1962. The car

Today, while the soft drink industry s value has increased in 2004, the volume sales of carbonated soft
drinks has declined due to a large proportion of consumers who are opting for the trend towards
healthier alternatives in the functional drink segment (energy drinks, smoothies, milk juice drinks,
sports drinks) as well as bottled juices and water (ref.5). Companies have been actively engaged in
new product developments in order to counter the growing concerns about negative health impacts of
high fructose drinks, but also to increase the demand in a market where product offerings are quickly
maturing (ref.4). New flavor introductions and health conscious formulations have been launched in
an attempt to offset the decline in carbonated soft drink sales (ref.6). The functional market is
expected to show sustained growth and consumer interest in the future years as consumption shifts to
trendier, healthier and more sophisticated products (ref.7).
Profitability future growth potential: In 1993, Concentrate Producers earned 29% pretax profits on
their sales, while bottlers earned 9% profits on their sales, for a total industry profitability of 14%.
While the functional drinks sector only accounts for 3.7% of the total soft drinks sales in 2004
(Appendix B), estimates are forecasting a growth of 7.3% in sales and 11.0% in volume consumption
by 2009 (ref.4).

Why Panera Bread Is The Healthiest Fast Food Alternative
Begging the question is a type of logical fallacy that avoids the argumentative process (McInerny
109). An example of a begging the question fallacy is when my friend argued for his point that Panera
Bread is the healthiest fast food alternative restaurant. My friend, Tim, stated that Salads and fruit
smoothies are the healthiest types of food. Since, Panera Bread serves several types of salads and fruit
smoothies this makes Panera Bread the healthiest fast food alternative. Tim s statement exemplifies
begging the question fallacy because the conclusion, Panera Bread is the healthiest fast food
alternative , does not have logical premise and reasoning behind the argument. Tim did not provide
any factual information proving the fact that salads and fruit smoothies are the healthiest food option.
Also, Tim did not compare the actual calories in the food at Panera compared to a typical fast food
restaurant, such as McDonalds. In summation, Tim completely ignored the reasoning that backed up
his conclusion, which was Panera is the healthiest fast food alternative, thus making the conclusion a
begging the question fallacy.
A false assumption is a type of fallacy where a reputable assumption is made and can be demonstrated
to be false with facts stacked against the assumption (McInerny 111). A false assumption can also be
made when an arguer is assuming that his or her audience has a knowledge of certain kind when in
fact the audience doesn t (McInerny 112). An example

Overcoming Resistance to Change
Overcoming Resistance to Change
BUS 610 Organizational Behavior
Overcoming Resistance
Resistance is a normal and a perfectly natural reaction to change. Each person has their own amount
they can take, but the reasons behind why employees resist in the first place may be surprising.
According to these experts, the fear of moving into an unknown future state creates anxiety and stress,
even if the current state is painful (Eroke, 2013). A complete understanding of the unique ways that
resistance can be apparent is still needed because resistance to change has been acknowledged as an
organizational difficulty for many years. If and when employees react to change in different ways, and
if discrepancies in response result in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once this survey is completed online, these scores are then developed into a daily, monthly, and
annual report that rates us on each department separately. A bad score decreases the points as a whole,
makes the entire team look bad to corporate, and bad reviews can be seen by anyone, which can keep
business from coming in and that will drop revenue. For some reason, we were not capable of securing
this position longer than a few weeks which then it was being taken care of by any of the staff or
management if they had a minute to help stock or clean it. This obviously is not going to be consistent
for guests, appears disorganized or short staffed, and is a dangerous health hazard if someone is not
taking temps every thirty minutes. Every single time someone did not show up to set up buffet, the
staff and management jumped in to help, but it was like pulling teeth to get anyone to step in and do
this job. Out of pure self interest each one of them would voice their opinion about how they do not
make enough to do someone else s job and it was not their job or they did not sign up for this.
Resistance is an inevitable response to any major change. Individuals naturally rush to defend the
status quo if they feel their security or status is threatened (Bolognese, 2002). I understand it is not
their faults that it kept getting abandoned, but I also know how to be reasonable and work as a team.

King Henry Viii And The Schism
King Henry VIII and the Schism
St. Augustine, a Catholic saint that helped developed the Western Catholic Church, once said There is
nothing more serious than the sacrilege of schism because there is no just case of severing the unity of
the church (St. Augustine). Through this quote it is learned of the significance of the Catholic Church
saw to staying together and avoiding a schism( a split between parties based on different beliefs). The
Catholics believed that in the event of a break in the church would cause a great disaster because they
believed that the church needs to stay together as a whole or it would be blasphemy, and heresy. The
Church also believed that if the church was to have a schism it would destroy the unity and sanctity of
the church. This in fact would be believed to take away from the church in the manner of it not being
the only church with the same mission. Therefore when King Henry VIII ( the second Tudor, monarch,
who ruled from 1509 1547) separated from the Catholic Church it went completely against the
mission that St. Augustine was trying to teach us through his comments about the church having a
schism. The dangers it could have caused were believed to lead to a destruction of the church and lead
to the end of the Catholic Church all together. Although there are people that view King Henry VIII
actions as positive for Europe and beneficial to Europe especially England, it should be seen that King
Henry VIII actions were not actually

Dysart Speech In Equus By Peter Shaffer
In the play, Equus, by Peter Shaffer, Dysart speaks to both the large in the theatre and the smaller one
on stage about his concerns. There the concerns that he addresses are that he feels as if he is lost and

Dysart is a commendable psychiatrist who works in a psychiatric hospital, and he is not completely .
Dysarts initial speech has several effects such a establishing Dysart as a character, the speech also

Competitive Advantage Of Apple
Part A: Blog entries
Product Apple
Launching a product which meets and even exceeds customer needs is crucial to the success of a
company. An example of that type of company is Apple. The American based technological giant has
been dominating the market for years and there are several reasons for that. Firstly, Apple s products
make their users feel unique. It is the brand name and the quality, associated with it, that make people
love Apple. What is more, Apple has a lot of technological advantages and resources, for example,
they were the first company to launch a tablet the iPad. Finally, they have a lot of skills in terms of
knowledge and creativity of their employees. All of the above mentioned reasons provide Apple with a
competitive advantage.
I bought my first iPhone five years ago. At that time, I would have never thought that I would want to
use Apple products for the rest of my life. What I enjoy most about this product is its simplicity as
well as the amazing opportunities it gives to me. From guiding me through my jogging routine in the
park to finishing an assignment on my morning commute I can always count on my iPhone.

  • 2. Analysis Of The Movie Waiting For Superman Danny kinder key Waiting for Superman 2010 Mr. Davis Guggenheim an American film director and producer wrote and directed Waiting for Superman , a documentary that deals with the American education system. Guggenheim argues that they are failing more each year in producing successful students. He finds where the faults are within the public educational system. He takes the time to show us some of the faces to those numbers to make his pubic realize they are more than just numbers dropping off the charts. He wishes to not only inform, but also to inspire others to act. This essay expresses how he portrays his arguments effectively; also identifying and analyzing the strategies that Guggenheim uses to organize and develop his ideas and determine who his intended audience is. Guggenheim successfully persuades his audience, first by using the ethos appeal. He does this by opening his film by explaining that as parent, he also worries and cares for the success of his own children and is very aware of the degradation of the public education. He is also being fair minded as he opens up about a previous film he created where he was actually supporting the idea that public schools worked. Although he held those beliefs up so highly once, he s now changed opinion. Guggenheim sincerely expressing why this has happened saying, Ten years later, it was time to choose a school for my own children...and then reality set in. My feelings about ... President Trump s defense of his extreme policy was to control the illegal immigration of many Mexican citizens into the United States. They Mexican public was very much outraged by this decision and they were very disappointed at the part where President Trump said,Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto showed this disappointment by cancelling his appointment with Mr Trump. This initiative is crushing good cultural and social relationships between two countries. This crushes the ancient cultures which survive near the border of the two countries. President Trump s initiative of building a wall to divide U.S and Mexico is negatively influencing the cultural relations between the government of the United States and the Mexican government. This initiative may also cost United States one of its closest allies: Mexico. Author Felbab Brown explained in her article THE WALL:The real costs of a barrier between the United States and Mexico that The border on which the wall is to be built cuts through ... tribal homelands and separates tribal members from their relatives and their sacred sites, while also sundering them from the natural environment which is crucial not just to their livelihoods but to their cultural and religious identity (Felbab Brown, 2017). The states had more power than the federal government. State governments had the power to tax but the federal government did not (Janda 62). This caused congress to have to beg for money from the states in order to pay for the cost of the Revolutionary War and the cost of starting a new nation. Another issue under the Articles of Confederation was the lack of economic control the federal government had on the states (63). The national government attempted to restrict foreign imports but the states did not listen and continued making deals with foreign countries. This caused debt and bankruptcy to fall upon numerous states. The Articles of Confederation also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Edward Theodore Gein Edward Theodore Gein America s Most Infamous Murderer Although tallying just two deaths, Ed Gein is one of America s most infamous murderers. His notorious killings are remembered as being among the most perverse of any this century. His lunatic atrocities were magnified by the number of victims who fell prey to his sick deeds and who also fueled his numerous habits of cannibalism, necrophilia of women, and his obsession with the female body, especially his mother, Augusta Gein. Although clearly guilty for the acts Gein committed, psychiatrists were confident in their conclusion of his insanity. As is in many cases, Gein s birth of insanity started in childhood. In 1940 George Gein died, leaving Augusta with Henry, 38 and Ed, 34 who worked as handymen in nearby Plainfield to pay the household bills. Henry would frequently bad mouth his mother within earshot of Ed, who remained a stalwart devotee of the matriarch (Schechter 32). In May 1944 a fire broke out in the brush near the Geins farm. When the fire department turned up, Ed said his brother was missing but he led them directly to the spot where Henry lay, covered in soot. The police chose to ignore two marks on the back of his head and put Henry s death down to him being asphyxiated by fumes as he fought the fire. Whether Ed had anything to do with his brother s death remains a mystery to this day. For a year Ed and his mother lived alone together in the big old farmhouse. While her health deteriorated, Ed was ecstatic that he finally had his mother to himself; sometimes they would even sleep in the same bed together. So when Augusta developed cancer and died on December 29, 1945 after a series of strokes Ed was devastated, and became increasingly deranged after her death. • 9. The Wrestler, By Darren Aronofsky Essay The human condition, or what it means to be human, is a term the encoumpasses the innate and unchangable aspects of human nature. It is the unique and inherent features of being human, uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth has given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The Wrestler, due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and speaks to the audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler, Randy, in the twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic characteristics that define the human condition such as humans need for relationships and connections, search for recognition, and awareness of the inevitability of death. Cormac McCarthy s The Road is an exemplary novel which discusses the human condition and where these ideas are also seen. Buyers, tend to be large cinemas or retail chains to small independent cinemas or shops. The suppliers to the movie industry are the ones that help deliver the crew and equipment, as well as the actors, directors and writers. Both sides of the party make a very good argument. From it being a postive way for dogs to let out their energy and socialize, to it being a negative disruption for tax payers and surrounding residents of the dog park. My personal opinion is the dog park should be contructed, and here are some supporting reasons why. As stated in the first passage, dogs need to be socialized with other dogs to be a good dog at home and outside of its home. If a dog is not properly socialized it can easily lead to a aggressive or reserved dog. At home i have a dog of my own which whom I adopted from a shelter. When I first attained him he was very shy and skittish, especially around other dogs. However after taking him to our local dog park and into different stores that allow your dog to accompany you, his behavior started to change. • 13. The Plight Of Intensive Agriculture 2015 Waipahu HS Desmond Mahor Kyle Rafael Marcelion The Plight of Intensive Agriculture Agriculture has faced some of the most significant challenges in recent years. Major challenges include: the rapid growth of the human population, and the increased demand for agricultural land and environmental costs of non renewable resources. The current industrial agriculture system consumes water, and topsoil at unsustainable rates. It contributes to numerous forms of environmental degradation, including water pollution, soil depletion, and diminishing biodiversity. The following environmental problems are associated with prevailing production methods: Synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers are polluting soil, water, and air. Soil is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1990, It is estimated that since World War II, poor farming practices had damaged about 550 million hectares an area equivalent to 38% of all farmland in use today (Oldman et al.28) . Industrial agriculture endangers soil health because it depends on heavy machinery that compacts the soil, destroying soil structure and killing beneficial organisms in the soil food web. Soil conservation is a key integral part in sustainability since it takes many years for soil to naturally form. Despite the simplicity of industrial monoculture farming, the practice itself does not provide any measures to conserve topsoil. If farmers do not take part in protecting soil fertility, more farmable lands will be lost, resulting in food production decline. Agriculture affects water resources in two ways: irrigating fields using surface waters or aquifers diverts water from other potential uses; and when farming practices pollute surface waters and aquifers, they reduce the amount of water that is suitable for other uses. The US Environmental Protection Agency has blamed current farming practices for 70% of the pollution in the nation s rivers and streams. The agency reports that runoff of chemicals, silt, and animal waste from US farmland has polluted more than 173,000 miles of waterways. Agriculture accounts for about two thirds of all water use worldwide, far exceeding industrial and municipal use (Spooler 310). In many parts of the world, irrigation is depleting ... Amilia Kiesman Final Exam SOC 200 How Diversity Consciousness Will Change the Way People View Differences and Aid Me in a Successful Future Diversity consciousness can be defined as consistently learning about and being welcoming of diversity. This includes understanding, expressing empathy, as well as integrating diverse elements and people into life, school, and the workplace. Not only does this promote fairness and equality but it also helps us become more successful people. Everyone comes from a different background and has different life experiences, and if we work together and learn from each other it will help us become better educated. Today we have many states that still have a ban on same sex marriage and the top news story of the past month has been about transgender bathroom rights. You would think that in this day and age these topics would be non issues. Sadly though, they are examples of how people view differences today. Many people, for whatever reason, try to hold back from making change and see it as a negative thing. Due to this, I think that the first step when promoting diversity consciousness should be explaining how it is a positive thing and will benefit us in building a livelier future. I believe that if we continue to educate people on the benefits of diversity and encourage various diverse groups to stop avoiding change and work together we can start to embrace change. Then we can begin to see differences as an asset rather than a hindrance. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. King Creon In Sophocles Antigone While reading the Greek play Antigone , written by the playwright Sophocles, one sees that a few of the characters can be related back to the reader/watcher of the play. For instance, many people can identify with the protagonist Antigone through her incomparable dedication in following the laws of beings of greater power. Others might identify with the wise Tiresias, whose wisdom and advice is given and taught across the land. However, for a fifteen year old boy such as I, I identify the most with the antagonist of the play, King Creon. The way that Creon manages his problems, very reminiscent to the way that many deal with the situations that they face in their lives; how he lets his anger and pride completely fuel every action that he takes ... To be able to speak confidently and know what you are talking about is one of the most important abilities that one needs to convince others to join their cause. Just as King Creon did in his reign over Thebes, I am able to use my words to the fullest. To cite the play that we had read in class, Creon says: Polyneices, who broke his exile to come back with fire and sword against his native city and the shrines of his father s gods, whose one idea was to spill the blood of his blood and sell his own people into slavery (1, 34 37). When one reads Antigone without first reading the plays Oedipus and Oedipus at Colonus, what Creon says isn t all that strange. Even so, if one has looked through the first two plays, one realizes that Creon has used his words to completely change the way that Polyneices is viewed by the townsfolk. Creon was able to use his words to persuade others into believing that one of the sons of their old king was attacking Thebes to deface their gods and sell all of them into slavery. In this sense of character, Creon and I are homogenous beings. Identical to Creon, I can wrap people around my fingers via my words; a blessed few are able to completely resist my ... Illegal immigration has been an issue in the United States depending on how we look at it since this country was founded. President Obama and the Democrats fought for the DREAM Act, legislation ensuring that young people who want to contribute fully to our society and serve our country are able to become legal residents and ultimately citizens. Although this bill has a long history of bipartisan support, Republicans decided to play politics with it rather than do the right thing. There are numerous studies and research papers done on which entry mode is best in different situations, but there is no simple task deciding which is the best unless one can see into the future. JV and WOS are two completely different entry modes with their distinct down and upsides. Entering a new market gives both great opportunities and involves high risk. If both companies in the partnership feel it is a win win situation the chance for success is bigger, and if they fail the cost will not be as devastating, the amount of risk is at a minimum compared to a WOS (Morschet, Schramm Klein, Zentes, 2010). 2.4 The disadvantages of JVs Being partners is not always easy, and it takes time and a lot of effort to build up a strong relationship between two companies. There are many uncertainties around partnerships, the partner can have a hidden agenda and have an opportunistic behavior (Aswathappa, 2010). The goal or objective for the partnership can be unclear and makes it difficult to know when they have succeeded. If there is an unbalance in the level of investment, effort or expertise the other partner can feel they are not getting what they expected. Many get caught up in endless conflicts, and often these issues are based on cultural differences. Most of these problems are management issues, but sometimes the company s management can agree on every point but the employers do not get enough information (businesslink.gov.uk). Without thorough research and effective communication the employers can start to working against the integration. 3. Culture is by no means easy to master. There are major obstacles in efforts to streamline the information for the economic impacts of culture. In most general terms, culture is defined as set of beliefs and values, shared way of doing and understanding things which ties a community and is formed by the development of that community. Apart from art and heritage culture includes tradition and religious, way of life, human rights and values. In this project we are concerned with effects of those cultural activities on the patterns of economic development of cities. Two analyses have become accepted in the academics. First, we will consider culture as a product, which raises questions regarding the production, the consumption and the economic value of culture as well as cultural use as a tool for urban generation and place marketing. This is category is more closely to the tangible elements of culture. Second, culture as a process which leads to creative thinking to distinctive patterns of social organization and economic growth. An example of a begging the question fallacy is when my friend argued for his point that Panera Bread is the healthiest fast food alternative restaurant. My friend, Tim, stated that Salads and fruit smoothies are the healthiest types of food. Since, Panera Bread serves several types of salads and fruit smoothies this makes Panera Bread the healthiest fast food alternative. Tim s statement exemplifies begging the question fallacy because the conclusion, Panera Bread is the healthiest fast food alternative , does not have logical premise and reasoning behind the argument. Tim did not provide any factual information proving the fact that salads and fruit smoothies are the healthiest food option. Also, Tim did not compare the actual calories in the food at Panera compared to a typical fast food restaurant, such as McDonalds. In summation, Tim completely ignored the reasoning that backed up his conclusion, which was Panera is the healthiest fast food alternative, thus making the conclusion a begging the question fallacy. A false assumption is a type of fallacy where a reputable assumption is made and can be demonstrated to be false with facts stacked against the assumption (McInerny 111). King Henry Viii And The Schism King Henry VIII and the Schism St. Augustine, a Catholic saint that helped developed the Western Catholic Church, once said There is nothing more serious than the sacrilege of schism because there is no just case of severing the unity of the church (St. Augustine). Through this quote it is learned of the significance of the Catholic Church saw to staying together and avoiding a schism( a split between parties based on different beliefs). The Catholics believed that in the event of a break in the church would cause a great disaster because they believed that the church needs to stay together as a whole or it would be blasphemy, and heresy. The Church also believed that if the church was to have a schism it would destroy the unity and sanctity of the church. This in fact would be believed to take away from the church in the manner of it not being the only church with the same mission. Therefore when King Henry VIII ( the second Tudor, monarch, who ruled from 1509 1547) separated from the Catholic Church it went completely against the mission that St. Augustine was trying to teach us through his comments about the church having a schism. The dangers it could have caused were believed to lead to a destruction of the church and lead to the end of the Catholic Church all together.
