British Colonies And The New England Colonies
Throughout the New World many British colonies were established for various reasons. A few of those
reasons being for religious freedom, farming, and gold. The way that certain colonies would succeed
and develop depended on geographical factors. Eventually some colonies would flourish through
farming, seaport trade, or industry. In the New England colonies such as Massachusetts, Connecticut,
Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, their economy succeeded through shipbuilding and trading. The
soil up north was very rocky and the New England colonies experienced long winters short summers,
which didn t create ideal farming land. Despite the flawed farming elements, colonists managed to
subsistence farm within the short growing season. This means that the colonists grew just enough
crops to provided to their families. ( New England Colonies. New England Colonies. N.p., n.d. Web.
11 Sept. 2014.) Although New England didn t have the best farming conditions the colonies had an
abundant amount of trees. The trees were cut down and then used as lumber and timber for
shipbuilding. Since the New England colonies were in a close proximity of the sea the colonies
depended heavily on trade and fishing. New England participated in the Triangular Trade, exporting
goods such as lumber, fish, horses and flour then in return the West Indies would supply the colonies
with sugar, molasses, and rum. (Shmoop Editorial Team. Economy in Colonial New England.

Native Americans During The 20th Century
Throughout the history of America the thought of assimilation has been fought for and against. Many
people, such as the Native Americans, were forcibly stripped of their culture and Americanized.
Others, such as the German Americans, willingly assimilated in political views but tried to hold onto
their culture. All of these situations lead to hatred from white Americans at some point throughout our
history. The Native Americans during the westward expansion, German Americans during WWI, and
Japanese immigrants during WWII. Even though some of these people had already assimilated, the
fear that remained constant was the belief that people of different races and ethnicities were savages.
That other cultures were an affront and could not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His belief was that if they accept God and the rules of a civilized community they would become
useful members of American life. Pratt spoke to reformers of the time about the importance of
citizenizing Native Americans, he believed they were savages but not a lost cause. Pratt talked in
detail about the previous misguided attempts to change the Indians. He said that there is no way for an
Indian to understand civilized life if they are still living in a savage land (Pratt, 39) and that Native
Americans would accept the schooling and give up their savage lifestyle and false gods. He talks
about how to integrate the Native Americans, but not how to leave their land alone. Chief Joseph did
not seem to want to give up his way of life and only wanted his tribe s small portion of land. For
someone to make real change they must want to change themselves. What Pratt is proposing to do
instead is force the Native Americans to assimilate. Pratt points out that you can t make a German
American unless he is in America where he could learn and accept the customs of America (Pratt, 38).
This takes away the German s choice to come to America or not, and the ones who did assimilate still
tried to hold onto parts of their culture until WWI. In the same way, what Pratt is proposing takes
away the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Laparoscopy
Laparoscopic surgery is one of the most commonly used modality in surgical technique, being
performed 7.5 million surgeries annually worldwide.
It is an alternative technique for carrying out many operations that have traditionally required an open
approach. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery performed though small incisions. It presents
benefits, compared with traditional open surgeries, including shorten recovery times; lower
postoperative morbidity; allow patients to return to work and regular activities faster; and produce
better cosmetic results. Laparoscopic procedure starts with small incisions kept open with trocars.
Then, to make room for the surgery to be performed, the abdomen is insufflated with carbon dioxide

Generally divided into running and interrupted closures. Running sutures have the advantage of speed,
since knots need only be tied at two or three points. And comparing to interrupted sutures, the helical
nature of running stitch evenly distributes tension along the entire wound and allows for superior
perfusion. However, if one is insecurely tied, or breaks, the whole incision will not come apart. If tied
only tightly enough to approximate the tissue, but loosely enough to permit adequate perfusion of the
fascia within the suture, such sutures can provide a secure closure without necrosis. There is, however,
an inherent tendency to pull forcefully on these sutures as they are being tied. This is unquestionably
the reverse of what is best. If interrupted sutures are not done properly, they can be a greater
impediment to a strong closure than a running suture that produces inherently less

Distorted Reality In Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill
Katherine Mansfield was born in 1888 in New Zealand, and passed away the year of 1923 in France.
She moved to London as a young woman and began writing short stories. In her story Miss Brill, a
lonesome, elderly lady spends her day watching people in a local public garden. Miss Brill was
unnoticed by the people that visited the garden, but she managed to convince herself that she was an
amazing actress and the people around her were just part of her world. Her fantasy is quickly crushed
by remarks made by two people in the garden towards the end of the story. Events following the
incident in the park make it clear that something changed in Miss Brill at the end of the story. The
theme of this story is a distorted reality, and Miss Brill was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This leaves some people alone, friendless, and left to create their own sense of existence. Miss Brill is
one of these people, she is distant from the world and does not really belong anywhere. People acted
as if she did not exist, and for the most part did not speak to her. She became very skilled at
eavesdropping on other people s conversations without letting them know she was listening. She was
so accustomed to listening to others and observing, she forgot that is was normal to engage in
conversations with others around her. Although Miss Brill is an English teacher, it is clear that she
does not share things with people in her life such as her students. One can assume that there is not a
real connection between Miss Brill and her students. While she believes going to the park is like a big
play in which she is very important, she still fails to share this information with her class. The
relationship with the old man that she reads to at the park four times a week is almost non existent.
She insinuates that if he were to die it would not matter to her. She thinks she is an actress reading to
an old gentlemen, but in reality she is just a school teacher reading to a man that is sleeping. Miss Brill
seems to only have a real connection with noone other than

We should continually seek feedback to improve customer satisfaction. Part of being a good manager
is to continually evaluate our own practice and lead by example. It is very important to continually
develop our own skills and those of our staff members. I regularly attend as many Hairdressing
seminars and exhibitions as possible each year to keep myself up to date and motivated.
I find that by holding a training class in the salon one evening per week gives every team member a
chance to show their individual skills and overall quality of their own work. It allows me their
manager to pick up on their strengths and weaknesses and very often I pick up something new from
watching them.
This is information that can be used when doing staff appraisals. It shows me areas of improvement
that are needed for each individual so I can plan relevant courses for them which will all help the
overall customer service offered in my salon. Staff reviews take place annually in the salon and allows
us to look at the standard of work over the past year and set targets for the year ahead. It allows me to
give feedback to each staff member individually and I find it strengthens the relationship between us.
It also gives employees the chance to tell me what they think and what their aspirations are for the
future. Task 2

The Pros And Cons Of The League Of Nations
President Woodrow Wilson established America s goal for joining World War I as making the world
safe for democracy. At the conclusion of the War, President Wilson declared fourteen principles for
peace to be used during the Paris Peace Conference, called the Fourteen Points. The most important of
these points was the final point: a general association of nations with the guarantees of political and
territorial independence and security. As the Peace Conference progressed, more nations ratified the
Treaty of Versailles and joined the League of Nations, the embodiment of President Wilson s
fourteenth point. However, Senate the United States, from President Wilson s own country, did not
ratify the treaty.
President Wilson also believed that An overwhelming majority of the American people is in favor of

Why Did The Glass Not Fit In The Picture Frame Right Away
1. Why did the glass not fit in the picture frame right away? Explain what you did to solve the issue in
detail? The glass didn t fit in mine at the start because the wood wasn t even to the other pieces of
wood. So in doing this I had to go to the miter saw and fix the angle and cut off the wood that made it
like that. Another reason why the glass didn t fit is because when the pieces of wood wasn t clamped
and it wasn t together tightly leaving gaps in the spaces between the wood, when this happened I had
to sand it better and see if I had to cut anything extra off. Also the lip holding the glass was too small
so, this made me have to fix and make the cut bigger. 2. What other issues did you run into and how
did you go about solving them? Some things that I ran into was the fact that I had to fix the cutting
because one piece was bigger than the other and the fact that I had to sand some excess pieces that the
miter saw would not cut ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When having to recut the piece I had to measure it agin to make sure that both of the sides of the wood
matched in measurements. Also sometimes I don t like the waiting for the glue, stain, and clear coat to
dry. When having to solve them I had to think of a way to fix it, then once I would do that I would see
what the problem is. Following that I would use the different tools to fix it. In this I would use the
miter saw. To fix the angles and use the sanders to fix any access piece I had hanging off my project
stopping me from gluing. 3. Reflect on how you felt not having step by step directions for this project.
What life lesson did you take away from this project? I felt that not having a step by step direction was
okay because it helped me make my own creations, sometimes I feel that by having a step by step
process, I feel that I have to make it perfect. The lesson that I took away from this is project is that you
don t always have directions to lead you on the way, also you might not always having someone

The Tale Of A ( Former ) Dim Star
The Tale of a ( Former ) Dim Star By Alyssa L. Harrison, 10 years old, fifth grade Meet Blackie. She s
the main character of the story. She s an eighth grader and an amazing artisan. She was born on
October 23, 2003 and she is an only child. Her parents tragically died when she was only ten. She is
an Anisa, who lives in Sogenia. Now that you know most of the stuff, let s jump into the story, shall
we? I couldn t sleep. I looked at my somewhat dim, water powered alarm clock, wondering what time
it was. 7:43. Way early. Despite being awfully comfortable, I got up, figuring I was just hungry. As I
walked the the kitchen, I pondered about my snack. Carrots and orange juice usually is the best
choice. ( This is actually a good midnight snack! You should try it! ) I made it to the fridge. As I
opened it, I took in the cold air against my warm, cozy fur. Then I realized, that I was sweating. I
dropped the blanket I had wrapped around me. Much better. I grabbed my carrots and orange juice,
dragged the blanket behind me and took my time getting back to my room. I hopped onto the bed with
my snack in hand, and turned on the TV with the remote. The button let out a quiet click! as I pushed
the smooth, plastic button, before the TV turned on. She put the remote back onto the nightstand,
where it was before and grabbed her Neeno â„¢ ( A gaming system in this world ) controller. She
pressed the on button, which turned on the Neeno â„¢ console. As Blackie reached to grab her mic,

Within 48 hours, a team of professionals arrived at the spill location. From there, various health

The tests found typical mining contaminants and water hardness and pH were also tested. As
determined by a variety of organizations, the Animas River was opened to the City of Durango and the
public water systems were allowed to restart their water intake processes. An article containing
frequently asked questions was released on the CDPHE website on August 14th, letting the public
know where their drinking water came from, if the river was safe to get in based on CDPHE water and
sediment testing, and other general answers to common questions (12). That same day, the La Plata
County Sheriff opened Animas River for public uses with a health advisory attached. The next day, a
press release warned farmers and ranchers against using irrigation ditches until they were flushed
completely and the sediment had left the canals. On August 18th, information was about the spill

The The Song Of Roland
The lives of knights depicted in the The Song of Roland are a demonstration of the fierce warriorship,
aggressiveness, and deep faith of French Knights. A code of chivalry or gallantry existed among these
men. At the top of this code of conduct were the highly regarded virtues of honor, faithfulness,
courage, compassion, truth, and obedience. Noble knights prized the wares of their trade, such as fine
warhorses, armory, battle skills, and fine regalia. In this epic poem, Roland and the other Knights
show great obedience to their liege, King Charles. Roland volunteers for tough missions like leading
the rear guard as the army made its way thru the Pyrenees Mountains. He promised the King that

Knights were dedicated to their God and Church. These brave men truly believed that even though the
battle was not always in their favor, God is the only one who could overcome the odds. Victories are
God s way of showing he approves of the knights mission. All things happen because God knows it
will happen. Roland follows his lord and his God with complete faithfulness. His whole sense of what
a Christian knight must do is nearest to what pleases God, for it comes from God. Many of the poems
passages tell of the knights individual courage and their battle prowess. It seemed as though God was
willing each of the French blows to be lethal and the Pagans blows to miss their mark. The warriors
fought bravely no matter what the odds. They were not afraid to lead or make tactical decisions. They
valued good judgment. At one point, Oliver questions whether Roland made a good decision not to
call the army. At the end of the battle, as Roland lay dying, he also questioned his decision not to blow
the Oliphant to alert King Charles Army. The poem notes that the idea of service to all is the same as
service to the King. In the trial of Ganelon, they first see France as their complete realm of unity. They
value their homes, families, and country. Ganelon s treason was a threat to their France. The pagans do
not identify that closely as a country. Good knights show compassion for their comrades and enemies

A Comparison Between Neanderthal And Modern Human Dna
Introduction
Homo heidelbergensis was an early human species that lived around 700,000 to 200,000 years ago.
These pioneers were the first to live in colder climates, hunt large animals with wooden spears, and
utilize fire. They were also our first ancestors to construct simple shelters out of wood and rock.
Interestingly a comparison between Neanderthal and modern human DNA suggests the two lineages
diverged from a common ancestor, most likely Homo heidelbergensis!
Discovery
On October 21, 1907, Daniel Hartmann spotted a jaw while working in a sandpit in Mauer, near
Heidelberg, Germany (49.3389° N, 8.7986° E.) The jaw had human like teeth but was very large and

which was a cooling period with intermittent glaciers covering North America and Europe (Eldredge
2000) and deserts spread over northern Africa separating the populations of plants and animals,
including humans (Zuk 2013). These cooling and recurrent glaciations led to the physical adaptation
of shorter and wider bodies in an attempt to conserve heat in this cooler climate.
Dating
Many fossils of this species have been dated with various methods. One such was by sequencing
mitochondrial DNA from a femur bone found at the Sima de los Huesos ( pit of bones ) in northern

Differences Between The Northern And Southern Regions...
Civil War Compare and Contrast What are the differences between the Northern and Southern regions
during the Civil War? The North and the South had many differences in their regions and in their
strategies to help them win the war. The things that stood out the most were the geography, economy,
and transportation, and advantages. The Climate in the North consisted of frozen winters and hot
summers. The climate in the South consisted of short winters and long humid summers. The economy
in the North consisted of large factories and mass productions. The economy in the South consisted of
large plantations. The North s transportation was the use of railroads, which was the fastest
transportation at that time. The South s transportation was water.

Homosexuality and University Press
Homosexuality (male).
Definition Homosexuality refers to sexual behaviors and desires between males or between females.
Gay refers to self identification with such practices and desires, like homosexual, both terms mostly
used only for men. Lesbian is its female counterpart. Such definitions have run into major problems,
and nowadays the concept queer is used to indicate the fluency of sexual practices and gender
performances.
Sociological context
Since the 1970s, homosexuality has become the topic of an interdisciplinary specialization variously
called gay and lesbian, queer or LGBT studies (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender to which
sometimes are added QQI: Queer, Questioning and Intersexual). The field is far removed ... Show

The Dutch physician and homosexual rights activist Lucien von Römer worked with Hirschfeld on
sexual statistics. In a survey of 308 Amsterdam students done in 1904, he not only counted the men
who identified as homosexual (2%) and bisexual (4%), but as well those who had gay sex during
puberty (21%) or homosexual fantasies (6%). In the first Dutch gay novel that appeared this same
year, the author Jacob Israël de Haan told how he as a student made fun answering the questions. He
already made clear how unreliable such data often are.
Hirschfeld also came with the first urban geography, Berlin s Third Gender (1904) in which he
described the city s gay subculture of bars and parks and the elaborate world of male prostitution.
Mainly German books on the history of sexual morality ( Sittengeschichte ) that often included
chapters on homosexuality, preceded and influenced the work of later sociologists and historians, like
Norbert Elias and Michel Foucault. The work of these psychiatrists who started to give names,
definitions and identities to disease, crime and perversion, made possible the work of sociologists
creating labeling theory. In many ways, this early research paved the way for what would become a
sociology of (homo)sexuality (Schmeidler 1932). The enormous body of work, available mainly
thanks to early, prewar German sexology, was largely forgotten when the main location of sex
research after World War II moved

Clothing Since The Middle Ages, Renaissance And Industrial...
Clothing is much like communication. As technology progressed and new methods were invented, we
went from mailing letters to Morse code, followed by the telegram, telephone, and eventually
electronic mail. Beyond the way one s clothing has historically communicated such things as a person
s personality and social class, clothing styles and production have evolved in a similar fashion to the
technology of communication. This evolution was brought about by many factors including among
others people s tendency towards convenience, affordability, and fashion. Clearly, the styles have
changed significantly since the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Industrial Revolution. But without
these earlier fashions, we would not be where we are today. These

What Is A Slacker In College
College is a very diverse place. You encounter all kinds of different people and their characteristics. In
every class you attend, you are most likely to encounter these three people. The slacker, the
overachiever, and the natural.
The one you are more likely to come in contact with is what we call the slacker. The slacker is a
person who does no work. They barely get by in class, do not study or complete class work and they
may even try to cheat off of another person. They are the ones who don t really want to be there but
need to be there to get their degree. The slacker may fall asleep in class, barely show up to class, or
joke around too much. The next likely one you ll come in contact with in college is the overachiever.

American Stereotypes
Does anyone know that stereotypes are a part of our everyday lives? Yes, it is true that we find
ourselves in a situation where we make assumptions for large groups of people. Moreover, these
untruths do not come as it is real. To illustrate, American people have some assumptions about my
country India. Also, they believe that our country s people worship cows, uneducated people, and all
Muslims are Arabs.
The first stereotype that most Americans believe is that Hindus worship cows. Although this is a
common untruth, it is incorrect to believe. Hindus do not worship cows, but we respect them as they
are giving us gifts to human beings. For example, cows give us milk, which we drink all the time to
become energetic adults. Additionally, cows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though, this is a common assumption, it is totally false. The truth is that education is extremely
vital in India. Even poor families are becoming more advanced, and give their children the best
education as much as they can. For example, one Indian family do not have to eat, but they are able to
give their children the best education because they know it is the important key for a better future.
Education system in India is competitive, challenging; moreover, most children go to extra tutoring
after school just to get more knowledge. In India, most families send their children to special classes
like Dancing, Yoga, and do some sports activities as to make them very active and brave. Also, most
students in India prefer to go abroad for their further studies. After successfully achieving their
masters and PhD, instead of coming back to their back home, they settle down in chosen lands, where
their pay packet is larger and living conditions are better than they had. In general, Indian society
gives more in connection with a person who has studied or is working abroad. The tags NRI , foreign
returned , green card holder and so on, are kept in high respect in our country. Even in the marriage
market these tags are of great value! This helps me to show how the stereotype of not being educated

most popular kid s TV channel in the US. The international channels had their own names, but relied

Swan s enthusiasm and philosophy of open communication and ownership of tasks had brought the
Nickelodeon team together. Latin America was very segmented. Regional dialects, customs and
languages needed required attention. Rey del Valle was brought in from Fedex to help keep the
network on budget. Even though he had no experience in entertainment, Swan was particularly
concerned with the bottom line. With this move, and others, money was being spent on gambles but
the reasoning behind them was well informed. Investments in quantitative and qualitative studies were
recommended by Del Valle, further aligning them with their immersive business strategy.
The sharing of employees between Nickelodeon and MTV in Latin America was an immediate
obstacle for Swan. Early, sharing Viacom employees was the only option to have a support staff for
Nickelodeon Latin America. The extreme differences between the networks confused the
advertisement and sales departments. Viacom employees were being asked to sell two networks
instead of one, without being given extra incentive to do so. Swan has approached this obstacle by
sharing her enthusiasm for Nickelodeon with the Viacom staff via her Growing Down meetings. The
important childhood culture was communicated in the meetings along with their marketing that

Relationship between Inequality and Financial Crisis Essay
Relationship between inequality and financial crisis
The most recent global crisis has rejuvenated interest in the relationship between inequality, credit
booms, and financial calamities. Many analysts propose that rising levels of inequality led to a credit
boom and eventually to a financial crisis. Others, however, have distanced themselves from that
notion arguing that while inequality can be blamed for many things, the global crisis may not be one
of them. In deriving a personal stand regarding the above predicament I will have to evaluate the
different ideologies that most economic scholars have applied in deriving their conclusions on whether
the cases of inequalities in the world s population mostly in the US, contributed to the ... Show more

It suggests that given the rise in levels of inequality, the credit expansion in the personal sector before
the recession was both necessary for supporting aggregate demand and employment, and it was
unsustainable. According to this hypothesis, government policies that explicitly aimed at promoting
lending to low income groups were the one to blame for the crisis. It also blames economists for not
learning from the previous depression that occurred in 1920. A more simplified explanation is that
given by economists from the International Monetary Fund and academia. The overall discovery from
their research was the trend where the rich got richer while the poor struggled even more to make ends
meet decades before both recessions of 1920 and 2008. The debts levels increased due to the
availability of cash from the rich which they used to buy bonds and bank deposits. Cash in the banks
was provided to the poor and middle class in form of debt as they tried to maintain their standards of
living. One groups increasing wealth and the others increasing reliance on debt spurred growth in the
financial sector due to the boom in lending, an imbalance which would rectify itself through a reversal
at the end of 2007 causing the bank crisis of 2008.
It is from this explanation that I draw my conclusion that the increasing levels of inequality did indeed

Abortion Vs Pro Life Essay
Introduction Abortion is a big social issue. Either being a Pro Life or a Pro Choice. Choosing a life or
aborting the life of a baby. When the baby is inside the womb, the mother or family has the choice to
either keep the baby or have an abortion. People need to know what all happens in an abortion, and if
they are Pro Life or a Pro Choice person. Description The abortion issue is a case where the doctor
terminates a pregnancy. Abortions are preformed normally before the third trimester. People around
the world are in a jam. They are fighting about if being pro choice is right or if being pro life is right.

I am not the one that says that handicapped children should be aborted. No. I am the one that says it is
wrong on all terms. The crazy thing is that there is at least 210,000,000 pregnancies a year, and
75,000,000 are abortions. Out of those abortions 21,600,000 of them are unsafe. Out of those unsafe
abortions there have been about 8,500,000 mothers needed to have medical attention because they
were either depressed, or very injured. 47,000 mothers have died in those abortions. To me that is just
very depressing and sad. They say the babies can t feel anything. That s where they are very wrong.
An unborn baby is able to feel pain at the earliest of 8 weeks, at 20 weeks the baby can feel more pain
than the average human. Some abortions can be because of rape , no 99% of abortions have nothing to
do with rape. The sad thing is that if you work out the numbers theres about 1.3 million abortions a
year. 1.3 million divided by 365 days, comes out to 3,500 a day. 3,500 a day divided by 24 hours,
comes out to 145 an hour. 145 divided by 1 hour(60 min), that sadly comes out to 2 per min. Coming
from a Catholic background and growing up always knowing that abortion is a bad thing, I can make
my own opinions on things and knowing all the facts and all the stats I can say for myself that

Joseph Stalin s Influence On Russian Music
How Social Change influenced Russian Music of the Twentieth Century Joseph Stalin s authoritarian
state and World War II were the two major social changes during the Twentieth century. Joseph Stalin
s policies centered on inflicting fear upon his own citizens, to instill greater control over Soviet
Russia. Through the great purges, Stalin was able to assume complete power over his people. His
regime s policies greatly affected Russian music of the Twentieth century. Centralised control of art,
paired with the fear of Stalin s reign, instilled harsh, dissonant pieces of music. Music could no longer

The first three movements contrasts the peaceful life before the war, with the bloodshed of the war.
The movement starts out peaceful and serene. It turns dissonant, as Shostakovich attempts to express
the grief of the war. A shift occurs during the fourth movement. This movement portrays the Russian
victory over Nazi Germany s attempt to take Leningrad. This movement is filled with loud, dissonant
chords, and fast woodwind passages intended to show the Russian spirit fighting for Leningrad. The
movement ends bombastically, ending in loud major chords. This is intended to show the Russian
defeat of the German forces. Soviet Russia used Shostakovich s Seventh Symphony as propaganda. It

The structure of economics is built on the law of demand. The law of demand simply says that when
the price of a good rises, the amount demanded falls, and when the price falls, the amount demanded
rises. An increase in demand means that the demand curve will shift to the right. A decrease in the
price of the product will not shift the demand curve, but will increase the quantity demanded
(Henderson, 2008).
The Coefficient of Determination Interpretation is the accuracy of the predictor of the independent
variable on the dependent variable value. The coefficient of determination is calculated as the square
of the correlation coefficient between the sample and predicted data. How well a regression model fits
the data is shown through the coefficient of determination. The value of the coefficient of
determination shows the percentage of variation that can be explained by the regression equation and
is used to show how accurately a regression model can predict future outcomes (Mahvish Zehra, n.d.).
The interpretation of each independent variable coefficient is as following. There is a decrease in the
demand for pizza. The coefficient of the cost of pizza is, 3,174.060 and the coefficient of the cost of
soda is, 2,266.736 this shows a negative impact on demand.
Although small, the coefficient of total population .579, and the average income per house

Leadership Structures Used By FBC Bossier City
As a Christian the best leadership structure for the body of believers we have was given to use by
Jesus Christ. He taught us how to love (God with all our heart) and who to love (thy neighbor), which
results in us being better leaders. Naturally, each church reads the same scripture but interprets it
differently and has a different leadership style as a result of that. Three church s constitutions in
particular will be the subject of discussion. I will compare and contrast the leadership structures of the
three, list positives and negatives, interpret what I see the preferred church leadership structure and
interpret what the constitution reveals about each church.

The Importance Of A Good Human Resource Department
A good human resource department is essential to any successful businesses in today s society. Before

Not just the ones we can stand to be around. I know that there are people who tend to irritate us more
than others, and sometimes we want to retaliate because they have wronged us in the past, possibly on
more than one occasion. As Ghandi said, An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
We must follow the admonition of Paul;
There are two scriptures that define what his admonition is. The first is 1 Corinthians 13:4, 7, 4
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity caunteth not itself, is not puffed up... 7
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
The second is found in Philippians 4:8, it reads, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are try,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever

Bodega s Obsession With Vera In The Great Gatsby
In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby is stuck in the past, dreaming about
Daisy. He regrets leaving her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Gatsby believes that their
relationship will continue where they left off. If she loved him then, will she not love him now? In the
novel Bodega Dreams, by Ernesto Quiñonez, Bodega is obsessed with rekindling his relationship with
Vera. They have been separated for so long but he feels that she will fall madly in love when she sees
him again. Life is going well and he has built up Spanish Harlem for her. In both cases, the
relationships they wish to have no longer exist and try as they might, they still fail. The authors

They were full of joy until it all came crashing down because of figures that were hiding in the
shadows. They felt as though life was well and their relationships were thriving. Some characters were
not happy with these thriving relationships. In Gatsby s case, Tom viewed Gatsby as a threat to his
marriage and had to neutralize the threat. Nick narrates, The chauffeur he was one of Wolfsheim s
protégés heard the shots afterward he could only say that he hadn t thought anything much about
them...It was after we started with Gatsby [his dead body] toward the house that the gardener saw
Wilson s body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete (Fitzgerald, 161, 162).
Gatsby made Tom s life easier by being in the car that killed Myrtle. Wilson was originally going to go
after Tom, but Tom corrected him that it was Gatsby s car that killed his wife. Tom can easily get rid
of Gatsby because Wilson wants to avenge his wife s death. As Gatsby got into the pool and waited for
the call that would never come, he gave up on his aspirations and is killed by Wilson. Gatsby s
romance was hopeless from the start and failed because it was not supposed to work out. He had his
chances years ago and he could not move on. Bodega s story ends in similar way. Vera never truly
loved Bodega, her heart is in the hands of someone else. Blanca says, My mother tells me that years

Experience Hiv Related Stigma And Discrimination
around the world continue to experience HIV related stigma and discrimination (Greene, Ion,
Kwaramba, Smith, Loutfy, 2015, p. 162). This discrimination is something that Shawna experienced
on multiple occasions and affected how she viewed herself as a parent.
Assessment of Pre Crisis Functioning
Early in Shawna s pregnancy she was she was in a state of relative equilibrium. She certainly had a
great deal to contend with, but she was showing that she is capable and resilient. Shawna had a history
of non compliance with medical care related to both her mental illness and her chronic disease. She
admitted to utilizing avoidance as a primary coping mechanism during the prior crisis. The pregnancy
had caused her to make some progress in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I began by trying to successfully create a therapeutic alliance with Shawna. I knew that she had issues
with trust, making it extremely important to establish a good collaborative relationship with the client
(Wedding Corsini, 2014, p. 35). Together we prioritized what needed to be done into manageable
pieces so that Shawna could feel successful and empowered to continue moving forward. We also
started with easy tangible pieces of intervention to eliminate barriers so the crisis felt more
manageable, and her anxiety decreased with each goal that was accomplished. I asked permission
before proceeding with any step of intervention. It was an important aspect of building trust to
empower Shawna to lead, while I provided support.
Crisis Intervention Plan
Predispositioning began with a phone call to Shawna s hospital room. It was imperative to connect
with Shawna on an emotional level, so she knew my intentions were to help. I also wanted to clarify
the process so she would be comfortable during the initial intake. I shared with her who I was, where
the referral came from, and what services I would be able to provide. I asked permission to visit her at
the hospital to enroll her in the program. Shawna agreed to let me visit and I let her know that I
understood she felt like time was running out, and to reduce her anxiety I would like to visit as soon as
possible.
Next, we defined the crisis using the intake

There are many transfer functions but how we select them, Is there a certain criteria?. There is no
straightforward answer to this question, it depends on the neural network itself and what you want to
achieve from it and the problem that neurons are trying to solve. Transfer function may be linear or
non linear, and It s generally non linear. linear transfer functions are usually used for inputs and
outputs and also non linear transfer functions (Sigmoid) are used for hidden layers. The transfer
function work as the following: takes the input value compare it to a specific threshold in order to
decide the output value, turn the input value into: 0 or 1, or other numbers in case step function, and
the output value will be in range between 0 to 1 incase sigmoid function (logsig) and between 1 to +1

government. This was a law created by the Congress that established the highest order of legal
authority over national parks. A policy where a group of people came together in 1916 and decided to
make a law/policy to set aside special and unique land so it wouldn t be used for any franchise
purposes. Its a way of conserving the scenery or the natural or historic objects in any such park
monument or reservation. (NPS.gov, 2002) This is a way of saying that the national forest, seashores,

Expressiveness In A Youtube Video Of Corelli s Christmas...
Expressiveness is something that communicates a well defined mood. In music, this is done by
making notes mean something. With this, the audience doesn t just hear music. They feel it. In a
Youtube video of Corelli s Christmas Concerto, an ensemble does this through many different ways.
First, they made use of transitions. At 1:02, the players changed over into a faster tempo than before.
The opposite is done at 1:22, where the change of tempo is done with one single note. The legato that
dominates much of the music conveys a sense of calmness. On the other hand, the staccato esque
section and fast tempo from 1:02 to 1:22 creates a sense of tension in the piece. These two moods
contrast each other and add another sense of dimension to the music.

  • 2. British Colonies And The New England Colonies Throughout the New World many British colonies were established for various reasons. A few of those reasons being for religious freedom, farming, and gold. The way that certain colonies would succeed and develop depended on geographical factors. Eventually some colonies would flourish through farming, seaport trade, or industry. In the New England colonies such as Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, their economy succeeded through shipbuilding and trading. The soil up north was very rocky and the New England colonies experienced long winters short summers, which didn t create ideal farming land. Despite the flawed farming elements, colonists managed to subsistence farm within the short growing season. This means that the colonists grew just enough crops to provided to their families. ( New England Colonies. New England Colonies. N.p., n.d. Web. 11 Sept. 2014.) Although New England didn t have the best farming conditions the colonies had an abundant amount of trees. The trees were cut down and then used as lumber and timber for shipbuilding. Since the New England colonies were in a close proximity of the sea the colonies depended heavily on trade and fishing. New England participated in the Triangular Trade, exporting goods such as lumber, fish, horses and flour then in return the West Indies would supply the colonies with sugar, molasses, and rum. • 3. Native Americans During The 20th Century Throughout the history of America the thought of assimilation has been fought for and against. Many people, such as the Native Americans, were forcibly stripped of their culture and Americanized. Others, such as the German Americans, willingly assimilated in political views but tried to hold onto their culture. All of these situations lead to hatred from white Americans at some point throughout our history. The Native Americans during the westward expansion, German Americans during WWI, and Japanese immigrants during WWII. Even though some of these people had already assimilated, the fear that remained constant was the belief that people of different races and ethnicities were savages. That other cultures were an affront and could not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His belief was that if they accept God and the rules of a civilized community they would become useful members of American life. Pratt spoke to reformers of the time about the importance of citizenizing Native Americans, he believed they were savages but not a lost cause. Pratt talked in detail about the previous misguided attempts to change the Indians. He said that there is no way for an Indian to understand civilized life if they are still living in a savage land (Pratt, 39) and that Native Americans would accept the schooling and give up their savage lifestyle and false gods. He talks about how to integrate the Native Americans, but not how to leave their land alone. Chief Joseph did not seem to want to give up his way of life and only wanted his tribe s small portion of land. For someone to make real change they must want to change themselves. What Pratt is proposing to do instead is force the Native Americans to assimilate. Pratt points out that you can t make a German American unless he is in America where he could learn and accept the customs of America (Pratt, 38). This takes away the German s choice to come to America or not, and the ones who did assimilate still tried to hold onto parts of their culture until WWI. In the same way, what Pratt is proposing takes away the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is an alternative technique for carrying out many operations that have traditionally required an open approach. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery performed though small incisions. It presents benefits, compared with traditional open surgeries, including shorten recovery times; lower postoperative morbidity; allow patients to return to work and regular activities faster; and produce better cosmetic results. Laparoscopic procedure starts with small incisions kept open with trocars. Then, to make room for the surgery to be performed, the abdomen is insufflated with carbon dioxide gas and a ... And comparing to interrupted sutures, the helical nature of running stitch evenly distributes tension along the entire wound and allows for superior perfusion. However, if one is insecurely tied, or breaks, the whole incision will not come apart. If tied only tightly enough to approximate the tissue, but loosely enough to permit adequate perfusion of the fascia within the suture, such sutures can provide a secure closure without necrosis. There is, however, an inherent tendency to pull forcefully on these sutures as they are being tied. This is unquestionably the reverse of what is best. If interrupted sutures are not done properly, they can be a greater impediment to a strong closure than a running suture that produces inherently less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Distorted Reality In Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill Katherine Mansfield was born in 1888 in New Zealand, and passed away the year of 1923 in France. She moved to London as a young woman and began writing short stories. In her story Miss Brill, a lonesome, elderly lady spends her day watching people in a local public garden. Miss Brill was unnoticed by the people that visited the garden, but she managed to convince herself that she was an amazing actress and the people around her were just part of her world. Her fantasy is quickly crushed by remarks made by two people in the garden towards the end of the story. Events following the incident in the park make it clear that something changed in Miss Brill at the end of the story. The theme of this story is a distorted reality, and Miss Brill was ... Miss Brill is one of these people, she is distant from the world and does not really belong anywhere. People acted as if she did not exist, and for the most part did not speak to her. She became very skilled at eavesdropping on other people s conversations without letting them know she was listening. She was so accustomed to listening to others and observing, she forgot that is was normal to engage in conversations with others around her. Although Miss Brill is an English teacher, it is clear that she does not share things with people in her life such as her students. One can assume that there is not a real connection between Miss Brill and her students. While she believes going to the park is like a big play in which she is very important, she still fails to share this information with her class. The relationship with the old man that she reads to at the park four times a week is almost non existent. She insinuates that if he were to die it would not matter to her. She thinks she is an actress reading to an old gentlemen, but in reality she is just a school teacher reading to a man that is sleeping. The glass didn t fit in mine at the start because the wood wasn t even to the other pieces of wood. So in doing this I had to go to the miter saw and fix the angle and cut off the wood that made it like that. Another reason why the glass didn t fit is because when the pieces of wood wasn t clamped and it wasn t together tightly leaving gaps in the spaces between the wood, when this happened I had to sand it better and see if I had to cut anything extra off. Also the lip holding the glass was too small so, this made me have to fix and make the cut bigger. 2. What other issues did you run into and how did you go about solving them? Some things that I ran into was the fact that I had to fix the cutting because one piece was bigger than the other and the fact that I had to sand some excess pieces that the miter saw would not cut ... I dropped the blanket I had wrapped around me. Much better. I grabbed my carrots and orange juice, dragged the blanket behind me and took my time getting back to my room. I hopped onto the bed with my snack in hand, and turned on the TV with the remote. The button let out a quiet click! as I pushed the smooth, plastic button, before the TV turned on. Noble knights prized the wares of their trade, such as fine warhorses, armory, battle skills, and fine regalia. His whole sense of what a Christian knight must do is nearest to what pleases God, for it comes from God. Many of the poems passages tell of the knights individual courage and their battle prowess. It seemed as though God was willing each of the French blows to be lethal and the Pagans blows to miss their mark. The warriors fought bravely no matter what the odds. They were not afraid to lead or make tactical decisions. They valued good judgment. At one point, Oliver questions whether Roland made a good decision not to call the army. • 21. A Comparison Between Neanderthal And Modern Human Dna Introduction Homo heidelbergensis was an early human species that lived around 700,000 to 200,000 years ago. These pioneers were the first to live in colder climates, hunt large animals with wooden spears, and utilize fire. They were also our first ancestors to construct simple shelters out of wood and rock. Interestingly a comparison between Neanderthal and modern human DNA suggests the two lineages diverged from a common ancestor, most likely Homo heidelbergensis! Discovery On October 21, 1907, Daniel Hartmann spotted a jaw while working in a sandpit in Mauer, near Heidelberg, Germany (49.3389° N, 8.7986° E.) These cooling and recurrent glaciations led to the physical adaptation of shorter and wider bodies in an attempt to conserve heat in this cooler climate. Dating Many fossils of this species have been dated with various methods. One such was by sequencing mitochondrial DNA from a femur bone found at the Sima de los Huesos ( pit of bones ) in northern Spain by Svante Paabo, a biologist at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. After sequencing, researchers compared the result with genetic information from Neanderthals and Denisovans and dated them to over 300,000 years (Meyer 2013). Description The first preserved bones for this species was a lower jaw with teeth, found near Heidelberg, Germany. Other fossils include 5,500 bone fragments from 28 individuals found in The Pit of Bones , Spain, and possibly a fossilized skullcap discovered in northern India s Narmada Valley that currently represents the easternmost occurrence (Meyer 2013). Gay refers to self identification with such practices and desires, like homosexual, both terms mostly used only for men. Lesbian is its female counterpart. Sociological context Since the 1970s, homosexuality has become the topic of an interdisciplinary specialization variously called gay and lesbian, queer or LGBT studies (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender to which sometimes are added QQI: Queer, Questioning and Intersexual). In a survey of 308 Amsterdam students done in 1904, he not only counted the men who identified as homosexual (2%) and bisexual (4%), but as well those who had gay sex during puberty (21%) or homosexual fantasies (6%). In the first Dutch gay novel that appeared this same year, the author Jacob Israël de Haan told how he as a student made fun answering the questions. He already made clear how unreliable such data often are. Hirschfeld also came with the first urban geography, Berlin s Third Gender (1904) in which he described the city s gay subculture of bars and parks and the elaborate world of male prostitution. Mainly German books on the history of sexual morality ( Sittengeschichte ) that often included chapters on homosexuality, preceded and influenced the work of later sociologists and historians, like Norbert Elias and Michel Foucault. The work of these psychiatrists who started to give names, definitions and identities to disease, crime and perversion, made possible the work of sociologists creating labeling theory. In many ways, this early research paved the way for what would become a sociology of (homo)sexuality (Schmeidler 1932). Many analysts propose that rising levels of inequality led to a credit boom and eventually to a financial crisis. Others, however, have distanced themselves from that notion arguing that while inequality can be blamed for many things, the global crisis may not be one of them. It suggests that given the rise in levels of inequality, the credit expansion in the personal sector before the recession was both necessary for supporting aggregate demand and employment, and it was unsustainable. According to this hypothesis, government policies that explicitly aimed at promoting lending to low income groups were the one to blame for the crisis. It also blames economists for not learning from the previous depression that occurred in 1920. A more simplified explanation is that given by economists from the International Monetary Fund and academia. The overall discovery from their research was the trend where the rich got richer while the poor struggled even more to make ends meet decades before both recessions of 1920 and 2008. The debts levels increased due to the availability of cash from the rich which they used to buy bonds and bank deposits. Cash in the banks was provided to the poor and middle class in form of debt as they tried to maintain their standards of living. One groups increasing wealth and the others increasing reliance on debt spurred growth in the financial sector due to the boom in lending, an imbalance which would rectify itself through a reversal at the end of 2007 causing the bank crisis of 2008. A decrease in the price of the product will not shift the demand curve, but will increase the quantity demanded (Henderson, 2008). While at the University of Tennessee I have sought to take these incomplete stories and worked to fill the gaps in a journey which has lead me to stand on the stairs of St. Martin in the Fields, to engage with scholars in Eastern Europe, to study British Politics in the UK, to stand beneath the water tower in Vukovar, and to work with the handwritten copies of speeches of Tennessee Congressmen. As an individual who entered college plagued by shyness that had dominated much of my high school career, it was also these experiences that helped me to develop a voice. It has been through my research as a Baker Scholar seeking to understand the impediments to media reform in the Balkans, that I have come to value my own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Clinical Indications for Pulp Regeneration: The pulp of teeth repeatedly undergoes irreversible disease caused by caries, trauma, congenital abnormalities, or as a complication of previous dental procedures (7). Endodontic therapy aims to an effective and specific treatment for the irreversibly diseased pulp, with preferable short and long term outcomes (7,8). However, endodontic prognosis studies have conclusively shown that the presence of pre operative infection, generally determined by lack of response to vitality tests and the presence of a radiolucent periapical lesion, reduces the long term outcomes of treatment by about 15 20%, compared with cases with vital pulp (8). While the prognosis of endodontic treatment in these cases remains favorable, the situation is more complicated incases with young immature teeth. Root canal instrumentation, disinfection, and sealing are more technically difficult to performing these cases (9 11). Perhaps more importantly, the tooth remains weak and is therefore susceptible to fracture due to functional stresses or minor trauma, an outcome that has been determined to range from 28 77%, depending on the degree of root maturation (13).This distinction is important, given that calcium hydroxide is rarely used long term today, because of the availability of apexification techniques that rely on these of ... • 42. 13th Articles Of Faith Good morning brothers and sisters. The topic that I was assigned to speak on today is the thirteenth article of faith and its relevance today for young single adults. I, possibly like some of you, remember having to recite this particular verse along with the rest of the primary kids during sharing time. Sitting in a chair that prevented my feet from touching the floor, I can remember feeling so clever as I substituted chased by an elephant for chaste, benevolent . Judging by some of your smiles you know exactly what I m talking about. In my ward, the primary president asked us to memorize all thirteen of the articles of faith before the end of the year. Despite being the longest, the thirteenth article is the one that I remember most. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not just the ones we can stand to be around. I knew that she had issues with trust, making it extremely important to establish a good collaborative relationship with the client (Wedding Corsini, 2014, p. 35). Together we prioritized what needed to be done into manageable pieces so that Shawna could feel successful and empowered to continue moving forward. We also started with easy tangible pieces of intervention to eliminate barriers so the crisis felt more manageable, and her anxiety decreased with each goal that was accomplished. I asked permission before proceeding with any step of intervention. It was an important aspect of building trust to empower Shawna to lead, while I provided support. Crisis Intervention Plan Predispositioning began with a phone call to Shawna s hospital room. It was imperative to connect with Shawna on an emotional level, so she knew my intentions were to help. I also wanted to clarify the process so she would be comfortable during the initial intake. I shared with her who I was, where the referral came from, and what services I would be able to provide. I asked permission to visit her at the hospital to enroll her in the program. Shawna agreed to let me visit and I let her know that I understood she felt like time was running out, and to reduce her anxiety I would like to visit as soon as possible. There are many transfer functions but how we select them, Is there a certain criteria?. There is no straightforward answer to this question, it depends on the neural network itself and what you want to achieve from it and the problem that neurons are trying to solve. Transfer function may be linear or non linear, and It s generally non linear. linear transfer functions are usually used for inputs and outputs and also non linear transfer functions (Sigmoid) are used for hidden layers. The transfer function work as the following: takes the input value compare it to a specific threshold in order to decide the output value, turn the input value into: 0 or 1, or other numbers in case step function, and the output value will be in range between 0 to 1 incase sigmoid function (logsig) and between 1 to +1 in case tan sigmoid (tansig). • 48. Expressiveness In A Youtube Video Of Corelli s Christmas... Expressiveness is something that communicates a well defined mood. In music, this is done by making notes mean something. With this, the audience doesn t just hear music. They feel it. In a Youtube video of Corelli s Christmas Concerto, an ensemble does this through many different ways. First, they made use of transitions. At 1:02, the players changed over into a faster tempo than before. The opposite is done at 1:22, where the change of tempo is done with one single note. The legato that dominates much of the music conveys a sense of calmness. On the other hand, the staccato esque section and fast tempo from 1:02 to 1:22 creates a sense of tension in the piece. These two moods contrast each other and add another sense of dimension to the music. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
