The Education Process Of Elementary School Students
Knights Interactive Systems Present: Project Presented by: Nick Leyva
9/11/14
1.1 Project Summary
The goal of this project is to help advance the education process of elementary school students. A lot
of schools have adapted to the use of interactive white boards (IWBs). And while these IWBs do a
good job bringing interactivity to the classroom, our product, the KiD 35 takes interactivity to the next
level! The KiD 35 is a state of the art interactive desk that every student will be able to use during
class. The teacher of the class controls the desk s software so that the students will be focused on the
task at hand. I believe that at the young age of the students and the interactivity aspects of this desk
will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The transition for teachers is also made quite easily by introductory demos provided with the desks
when they are delivered. If a teacher can operate a smart phone, they will be able to use the KiD 35.
1.3 Project Analysis
We believe IWB s were a very good step in interactive education. However, they have many flaws that
the KiD 35 will approve upon.
Traditional IWB s have need the child to get out of their seat in class to interact with the board, not
every student gets the some amount of interaction with the board. (Deubel, 2010)
Many teachers using the IWB s do not change the method in which they use the board. So if the
assignments seem repetitive, students lose interest.
In our target market, many traditional IWB s are too large for elementary school students to use. [See
photo below.]
Some children are just plain shy and do not want to come in front of the class to work in front of their
classmates. (Interactive White Board, n.d.)
Here is how the KiD 35 counteracts the flaws of the IWB s:
The KiD 35 will be accessible by every child in the class; all of the students receive the same amount
of interaction time with the desks.
Teachers will have access to thousands of applications to always keep the learning environment fresh.
The KiD 35 s are specifically designed for our target demographic, which makes them much more
usable than larger IWB s.
The ability to have a message like Great Job! or Good Work after a correct answer is given can

Summary Of The Legend Of Hell
Prologue
Down through the ages of human history his name has been heard and often feared. He s know by
many names; king of hell, demon, destroyer, all which is wrong with the world. But many has known
him in a different light. A tender light. He s the legendary lover that legends are made from. Many
believe he may had been Casanova, himself. Some say he s actually Eros. But a few have known for
sure and lived to tell the story. His heavenly name is Azazael. His fallen name is Azazel.
This incredible handsome man with, versicolored flowing hair is like none other. His capability to
enhance a woman; mortal or immortal is what has made him a legend before the creation of our world.
He takes love but rarely, sincerely gives it. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Some passed bearing a perplexed expression, wondering what s wrong as they watch the matriarch of

The war Paranormael and Azazael fought over six million years ago divided the kingdom. Heaven had
to intervene to resolve their fighting. The lost of lives was piling up because the fighting became so
furious. Neither was willing to heed the pleads of their children to stop fighting. Both was equally

her. They all promised if she encouraged her trillions upon billions of children to revolt against
Azazael s iron rule they d come to her aid. They did not. Not a single one.
Over the six million years they were polite to each other and even courtesy at times. This made their
offsprings happy to see them together. She reclaimed her seat on the throne of Azazaeland and their
children which he killed for uprising against him; he even

Differences in Competencies Between Adn and Bsn
Differences In Competencies between ADN and BSN NRS 430v July 14, 2013 Differences in
Competencies between ADN and BSN Over the past few decades, many drastic changes occurred in
U.S health care delivery. Our current healthcare trends demand nurses to take more active role in the
health care decisions in hospital setting, long term care setting and in community healthcare setting.
Since nursing is based upon a body of knowledge that is always changing with new discoveries and
innovation Potter and Perry (2005), nursing profession is compelled to grow from being just a
traditional bedside nurse. IOM s future of nursing report which is released in 2010 calls nurses to be

Bachelor s prepared nurses are better equipped to make clinical decision more effectively and
efficiently. Nurses have to make clinical decisions all the time to improve a client s health and to
maintain wellness. For example, it is the nurse who usually takes immediate action when a client s
clinical condition deteriorates, who decides if a client is experiencing complications that warrant
notification of the physician. A nurse must be able to think critically, solve problems and find the best
solution for client s need to assist clients in maintaining or improving their health. For instance, if an
elderly patient status post hip replacement, bed bound complains of pain in the affected leg and
swelling, an ADN prepared nurse might carry out the order for pain management and will elevate the
leg to subside swelling. On the other hand, a baccalaureate prepared nurse will critically think about
the potential complication status post hip replacement surgery and will take the clinical manifestation

American Revolution Causes
American history is very rich in events, which have played a significant role in life of the whole
country and each citizen. The American Revolution is rightfully regarded the most vital events in its
history. To say more, is has become a crucial turning point for the country, as it resulted in the
formation if the independent powerful state that is currently preserving the positions of the world

caused both sides to become infuriated with each other. Causes of the American Revolution could ve
been avoided, but in no doubt, the war would ve occurred. American Revolution was caused by
numerous economic, religious, social and intellectual reasons, the accumulation of which resulted in
the firestorm of American population.
After the victory in the seven year war, Britain gained dominance in the North America. From that
period, Britain possessed not only 13 colonies along the Atlantic coast, but also conquered French
lands in the North part of present day Canada (Kammen 7). However, soon Britain had to face with a
new challenge: people from colonies revolted against Britain.
At the end of the 18th century, the territory of American colonies was inhabited by almost 3 million
people, mostly immigrants from Britain (Kammen 8). Small settlements were expanding. The largest
city was Philadelphia with a population of 40 thousand people; the second largest city was New York,

Madness In Hamlet Analysis
The key theme of madness in Hamlet serves the critical roles of the play, serving to depict the chaos
and turbulence reigning through the lives of all within the play. Characters portraying both feigned
and authentic madness, such as Hamlet and Ophelia, serve pertinent roles displaying the corruption
and destruction of the mind when left alone without a guiding figure, most significantly one in the role
of a father, and restrained without a chance to speak freely. Shakespeare creates a definitive line
between the sane and mad characters within the play, both in dialogue and presence in many scenes. In
the dialogue of both Hamlet and Ophelia in the apex of their madness, as Yi Chi Chen states in his
Pregnant with Madness Ophelia s Struggle and Madness in Hamlet, Other than being pregnant in
madness, Hamlet s and Ophelia s language is also pregnant with madness (Chen 14.) Through this
remark, Chen states that not only is their language sprinkled with puns and dark humor that reflects a
meaning underneath a cover of meaningless remarks, their remarks serve to bring about, the truth that
lies beneath the masquerade like court of Denmark, each in their own ways (Chen 14.) Hamlet, with
his incense towards the marriage between Claudius and Gertrude, serves to utter his disregard towards
this relationship in his biting remarks towards both parties. Ophelia, in her utter dismay at the
rejection of her love by Hamlet and her father s death, serves to facilitate her thoughts through the use
of madness, speaking her mind clearly on her thoughts on Hamlet s exploitation of the mind of
women, showcasing her sorrow and heavy burden. While the sane merely remain aloof to the sorrows
at hand, the mad seek to reflect them in their true light through backwards remarks and sly words.
Most significantly, this dividing line between the sane and mad is first seen in the character of Hamlet.
Throughout the play, one of Hamlet s key struggles remains to be his inability to express his desire to
rise to action in the name of his father, Old Hamlet, who spurs him to honor his name through
revenge. As Hamlet is visited by his father and called to rise to the occasion and honor his father s past
name and untimely murder through his

Bed Bugs Essay
Table of Contents
Chapter 1 Resurgence
Bed bugs are back in a big way. In the past 15 years their numbers have exploded. In the past, bed
bugs ceased to be a problem in North America but they were still alive and well in other countries.
Today, their numbers are on the rise again due to travel and immigration from countries that never
managed to get rid of them like we did. The bed bug can now be found in every U.S. state.
Unfortunately, once you have bed bugs, you re going to need help.
Bed bugs are very tough and while they are not considered a major threat to your health, they can
cause infection because their bites are very itchy, and scratching can also leave scars. Some people
also experience allergic reactions to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means you can have many clusters throughout your home. If you see what looks like a pile of
seeds you probably have found adult bed bugs. Remember, the adults are the size of an apple seed but
the nymphs are even smaller.
You may also be able to spot fecal stains, egg cases, and shed skins in crevices and cracks around your
bed. Fecal stains look like small blood stains, either red or black, and these are a sure sign that bed
bugs have at the very least been in the area. Look for them on sheets, pillows, mattress and box spring.
Egg cases and shed skins are transparent but if the infestation is severe there will be many of them that
are easy to spot if you are looking.
If you find any evidence of bed bugs, continue your search in other areas of your bedroom such as
behind picture frames, on other furniture, and in your clothing. A severe infestation is also
accompanied by an unpleasant sweet musty odor. Continue checking systematically throughout your
entire household.
Chapter 4 Can I Treat Bed Bugs Myself?
Bed bugs are one of the most difficult pest problems to eradicate quickly. While opinions seem to be
mixed, it appears bed bugs can be treated with time and diligence. Of course, exterminators tend to
suggest that eradication requires professional help and chemicals, but you may want to try these steps
first:
1. Strip off your bedding and put your bedding in a double bag. Then wash the bedding in hot water
(120°F). Discard the bags

amazing job acting. There is some foul language in this film. Over all, this is a great movie for teens
and adults alike. This movie is highly recommended for its amazing quality.

extremely rare mineral called Unobtainium. The natives on this planet ( Na vi ) do not take kindly to

Confliction In The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle, written by Jeannette Walls, is a memoir detailing the childhood and family
experiences of Jeannette which include the hardships she faced and the memories she has made. She
documents her early life through the experiences of having to move constantly from the orders of her
parents and living under poor conditions. She is eventually motivated to move away from her parents
and away from the conditions to make a life and pursue a passion for herself. Although, she dealt with
many inconveniences throughout her early life, she doesn t seem angered by her parents for having to
deal with those problems. This confliction in feelings resulting from experiences is why the tone of the
memoir is also confliction.

and Lori s piggy bank, and when he denies it, they get frustrated with him and the conditions they re

deteriorate and they are desperate to turn it around. Because of this, Lori claims that she will never get
out of Welch with Jeannette thinking that ..if Lori never got out of Welch, neither would I (229).
Another example of the tense relationship between her dad was when he brought up plans of The
Glass Castle once more when Jeannette was set on going to New York City. Her dad tries to bring
back the plans that she had been excited about early in her childhood, but she overcomes the previous
joy she had and is now realistic about outcome of The Glass Castle, saying that it will probably never
be built (238). Her relationship with her mother has also been changed, with Jeannette being more
conscious about what her mom is doing as she settled later in life in New York City with Jeannette
telling her mom that she wants to change her life and make it better. Her mom immediately rejects this
and states that she is fine and that Jeannette is the one that needs help since her values are all
confused, which conflicts the relationship between them as they both feel that the other has

Emerson s Theory Of Self-Reliance
An individual deferring to an expert opinion on a practical matter and instead chooses to follow
blindly to their own opinion is not a practitioner of self reliance. The moment an individual chooses to
forgo the guidance of an expert, who has the time and dedication in the field where they spent their
lives perfecting their craft, is the moment they become enslaved by their ego. I will first give a brief
explanation of Emerson s view on self reliance, and then show it relates to today. Lastly I will explain
the difference between being self reliant and thinking that you are self reliant. Self Reliance, is an
essay in which Ralph Waldo Emerson stresses his stance on why an individual should be self reliant, a
term in which he describes as a person who possesses the necessary traits to carry out his own
individuality against external norms and what their society wishes for them to become. For a person to
become self reliant, under Emerson s point of view, I find three quotes that can support his notion: An
individual must not seek things outside other than himself, meaning one must not be seeking ideas that
he did not formulate on his own, seek approval from others who wish to change his character, or to
seek to fit in a society that doesn t match his interests. Instead, that person must embrace the qualities
that make up themselves, not making up for the community. For an individual to be a nonconformist,
they should be stubborn to conforming to the type of person

What Is The Journey Of The Road Essay
After a short flight from Durban, we arrived in Port Elizabeth, where we were to start the drive
through the Garden Route to Cape Town, I once again reviewed our itinerary. The narratives I read
about the Garden Route from our itinerary and other travel brochures, made my nomadic heart beat
faster.
The Garden Route was incredible. It stretches for less than 300 km, yet the range of topography,
vegetation, wildlife is remarkable: indigenous temperature forest, pine plantations and fynbos (thick
bush), mountains running alongside rocky coves and beaches, gorges, rivers, lagoons and mountain
passes.
While tourism may have taken over much of the coast, and tree plantations for commercial use may
have taken their toll on the forest and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We stayed in Knysna for 3 nights and our hotel was nestled on the banks of a lagoon alright. While
relaxing in the hotel patio, I saw colorful birds and sea birds.
The following day, we ferried along the lagoon to the mouth of the open sea to Featherbed Nature
Reserve for an eco adventure tour. From the lagoon, I saw the Knysna Heads two enormous sandstone
cliffs that stand like sentries at the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon from the sea. While traveling by a
four wheel drive to the top of the hill, our local guide talked about the flora and fauna, and the Blue
Duiker, one of the smallest and most endangered of the antelope, found in the area. Even though I did
not see a Blue Duiker, I was not totally disappointed for when we reached the top of the hill we were
treated to a stunning view of the blue skies of South Africa reflected on the ever flowing waters of the
ocean. (picture)
I have always been fascinated by the power of water and its hold on the human heart and imagination.
So, I joined our local guide on a two kilometer hike through the milk wood forests and onto the
sandstone cliffs that feature arches, caves, cliffs and other wonders. It was absolutely amazing. Two
days later, we said goodbye to Knysna and continued to a scenic drive that took us along the
Outeniqua Pass, deep gorges and ravines, and misty mountains.
The scenery turned a little less dramatic and arid as we neared Oudtshoorn,

Summary Of Serpent Labret With Articulated Tongue
The first artwork I selected was the Serpent Labret with Articulated Tongue ; the artist of this piece is
unknown. I was looking forward to this the most because this piece was used to advertise/promote the
Golden Kingdom exhibition at the Getty Museum. The picture of this piece was everywhere; it was on
the wall, signs, stairs, maps, and pamphlets. Just by looking at the pictures I saw and not knowing
what it was, I thought that this piece was a hair accessory, like a hairpin because of its long handle.
However, I was wrong; after finding out what this really is, the Serpent Labret with Articulated
Tongue is a labret or mostly known as lip plug. This piece was used by higher authorities such as
politicians and soldiers as a sign of power and achievements on the battlefield; just like pins and
medals given to soldiers and military veterans in today s modern society. What I like the most about
this labret is its design, the tongue sways side by side whenever its wearer moves, it can also be
retracted since the serpent s tongue is a movable piece. It s not just a stiff, simple labret but a moving,
classic piece which gives its wearer a sophisticated and elegant look. This labret is made from gold
which reveals that the person who wore this was a person with authority, a ruler who people respected.
The face and body of the serpent are highly detailed, the fangs and the eyes look menacing just like a
real serpent. One could tell that this labret was made delicately,

Financial Planning
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND CONTROL
Part One
I. Overview of the Planning Process A long term financial plan begins with strategy. Typically, the
senior management team conducts an analysis of the markets in which the firm competes. Managers
try to identify ways to protect and increase the firm s competitive advantage in those markets. For
example, the first priority of a firm that competes by achieving the lowest production cost in an
industry might be to determine whether it should make additional investments in manufacturing
facilities to achieve even greater production efficiencies. Of course, being the low cost producer is
difficult if the firm s fixed assets are chronically underutilized. This type of firm therefore will spend a

Figure 1.0 Sustainable Growth Equality
As a firm grows, it must invest in new assets to support increased sales volume. The investments in
new assets must be financed with some combination of increased liabilities and increasesd equity.
Interpreting the Sustainable Growth Model
The model does not say anything about how fast the firm should grow but it gives ideas on how a firm
can benefit using this concept: The primary advantage of the sustainable growth is its simplicity. The
sustainable growth model gives managers a kind of shorthand projection that ties together growth
objectives and financing needs. It provides hints about the levers that managers must pull to achieve
growth above the sustainable rate. It also identifies some of the financial benefits of growing more
slowly than the sustainable rate. The concept also highlights tensions that can develop as firms pursue
multiple objectives simultaneously.
Pro Forma Financial Statements
These are forecasts of what a firm expects its income statement and balance sheet to look like a year
or two ahead. Occassionally, firms use this statements for several reasons: Internal planning and
control purposes. Communicate plans to outside investors. Establish goals to which compensation
may be tied. Predict any liquidity problem with enough lead time to have

Advantages Of Extreme Hotel Hacks That You Should Try
Awesome hotel hacks that you should try
Every one of us needs a break from their monotonous life once a while, don t you agree? What better
therapy than a holiday! With a beautiful holiday destination comes the need of booking hotels. Some
of these hotels eat up in your budget and you are forced to compromise on the stay. Now, how good is
a holiday with a compromise? Here are few hacks that can save you some bucks and also give you a
better deal and a comfortable stay.
Make a combo booking
There are many online travel booking sites that offer you a combination like booking a flight and a
hotel. Few sites offer booking of flight, cab as well as a hotel. There are different options and ranges
of flights and hotels that are available on these sites. Depending on the budget and luxury you need,
you can choose your booking. Usually making a combination booking cracks you a better deal than
booking separately. So why spend more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apart from the basic toiletries, breakfast and Wi Fi, sometimes the bookings made might have hidden

wasn t aware of it, till the end of my stay. It is always best to find out at the reception about the
complimentary items included in your booking and enjoy all that you can.
Apart from these, if you are just planning for a holiday with a budget constraint and flexibility of
dates, then you should plan your trips during the off season. The hotel rates are slashed to a great
extent and you might get a luxurious deal in your budget. Sometimes during season, a similar chain of
hotel might offer you a better rate than the one you are looking at. You can always ask them if they are
ready to match up to the other hotel. This usually works with hotels as they do not want their business
to go down because of their

The Growing Problem of Food Intolerance
Food intolerance has been a growing problem. Symptoms can vary anywhere from nausea, skin
rashes, anemia, depressions to nutritional deficiencies as well as thyroid disease, kidney failure and
cancer. This research paper explores information regarding food intolerance looking specifically at the
role of gluten on the immune system and how an elimination diet plays a role.
Gluten is a protein found in most cereal grains and is consumed in greater quantities than any other
form of protein. It has been estimated that 6% to 7% of the U.S population have been diagnosed to be
gluten sensitive, bringing that number to almost 20 million people. Intolerance to gluten relates to
gastrointestinal problems which include diarrhea, bloating and might result in consumption. Other
body systems that are affected are the central and peripheral nervous systems, the integumentary
system and the endocrine system. Berstad et al at Oslo s Lovisenberg Diaconale Hospital studied 84
participants who have been referred to gastroenterologists for digestive problems which the patients
think are caused by sensitivities to certain kinds of foods. The results of the study showed that all by
one participant was qualified for irritable bowel syndrome. In addition, 85% had symptoms indicating
chronic fatigue syndrome and 74% showed symptoms of fibromyalgia. In children, the
neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD, autism spectrum disorders, have been on the increase

Comparison Of The Second Great Awakening And The Second...
The 19th century America gave way to the social and moral reform that created the Second Great
Awakening, focusing on various beliefs such as temperance, reformation of religious views on slavery
and women s inequality. Many of this reformist wanted to save America from its sins , from slavery to
inequality. Though it was called the Second Great Awakening, it was very different from the First
Great Awakening. The First Great Awakening focus on the person s individuality, while the Second
Great Awakening focused on the community/country as a whole. The Second Great Awakening gave
preachers the voice of power, to tell people that they needed reformation, one such reformist was
Lyman Beecher, he is the father of Harriet Beecher Stowe, who wrote Uncle Tom s Cabin that greatly
emphasized on slavery and how it was wrong. In his sermon A Reformation of Morals Practicable and
Indispensable . Beecher wanted to reform their morals and their beliefs. He wanted to revive people s
faith and feel a deep connection with God. He wanted these reform due to the overall consumption of
alcohol in America, which he believed was a sin to mankind, and causing a false sense of happiness
that leads them to their damnation. Many posters were developed to further spread the Second Great
Awakening. These posters promoted many things such as the temperance movement, which tried to
restrain people from drinking alcohol. One such poster that emerge was The drunkard s progress, or

The World Outside And The Pictures
Broken Pictures
After the death of more than nine million soldiers and over seven million civilians, World War I came
to end with the signing of The Treaty of Versailles. US President at the time Woodrow Wilson offered
his vision for world peace with his Fourteen Points. Influential journalist and political commentator
Walter Lippmann assisted the drafting of this blueprint for world peace through a League of Nations.
Perhaps Lippmann is best known for coining the term stereotype in his 1922 book Public Opinion. In
the first chapter, The World Outside and the Pictures in our Heads Lippmann supports that reality does
not always correspond with the perception that the mind creates. These perceptions aids in fashioning
what Lippmann calls a pseudo environment. Through a medium of fictions, the mind shapes these
environments. Lippmann argues that public opinion is shaped and defined by perceptions of reality
and influenced by the pseudo environment molded by fictions. To demonstrate the pictures in our head
do not always match the world outside Lipmann tells a story about an isolated island that only receives
news updates every sixty days or so by steamer ship. The story takes place in September 1914 some
six weeks after the start of WWI and a couple months since the last steamer ship bringing the latest
news. On the island Englishmen, Frenchmen, and Germans worked and lived together in harmony.
Their most anticipated news story was not concerning world turmoil,

The Effects Of Caffeine On Children s Performance On...
In the neocortex, acetylcholine (ACh) stimulates arousal and plays a major role in attention and
working memory (Jones, 2008). Neuropsychological studies on caffeine report increased arousal,
alertness, increased energy and concentration (Smith, 2002; Ruxton, 2008; Brunye´ et al., 2010) even
at doses as low as 50 mg, which is comparable to the amount of caffeine in a cup of tea. It has been
indicated that even in low doses caffeine improves performance on attention tasks (Brunye´ et al.,
2010a). However, caffeine intake has also been associated with anxiety, nervousness, irritability,
insomnia and even panic attacks (Bruce et al., 1992; Lieberman, 1992; Sicard et al., 1996) . During an
elevated plus maze test of anxiety in rats, it was found that high doses of caffeine brought a
remarkably increased anxiety like behavior (Jain et al., 2005).
Similarly, nicotine improves cognitive performance by improving learning, memory and attention
(Levin and Rezvani, 2002; Swan, 2007). In a social interaction test for anxiety, nicotine was shown to
have an anxiolytic effect at lower doses and an anxiogenic effect at high doses (File et al., 1998).

The Disease Of Red Measles Or Measles
Rubeola
Rubeola, also called red measles or measles, is an acute viral disease that causes a red rash over the
body. Measles is one of the most common and most deadly communicable childhood diseases. It is
spread from one child to another through direct contact with droplets from the nose and throat.
Sometimes, it is spread through air borne droplets from an infected child. This is a very contagious
disease that usually consists of a rash, fever, and cough. The rubeola virus can live on surfaces for
hours.
The virus was first isolated in 1954 by Nobel Laureate John F. Enders and Thomas Peebles, who were
careful to point out that the isolations were made from patients who had Koplik s spots, white spots
under the tongue. The rubeola virus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Symptoms of measles begin to appear about seven to fourteen days after a person is infected, but can
be as long as twenty days. Most cases start with a mild to moderate fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes,
and sore throat. About three to five days later, a red rash appears. The rash begins at the hairline, then
spreads down to the rest of the body. When the rash appears, the fever may be as high as 103°F
to105°F. Symptoms may last for one to two weeks. Many cases are complicated by secondary
infections caused by bacterial pathogens, mainly Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae,
Streptococcus pyogenes, and Haemophilus influenzae. These pathogens readily invade the body
because measles damages the normal body defenses. Secondary infections most commonly cause
earaches and pneumonia.
Measles can be prevented by injecting an attenuated rubeola virus vaccine. At the time of the
introduction of the vaccine in the early 1960s, there were about 400,000 cases of the disease were
being reported each year in the United States, probably representing one tenth of the actual number of
victims. The number of cases in the United States have declined to maybe just a few each year. In
1980 the worldwide incidence of rubeola was estimated to be 100 million with 5.8 million deaths.
Globally, vaccination programs have lowered the number of cases dramatically since then, however,
the decline in incidence has not been uniform among the different regions of

Croatia, Zadar is also a connection point for tourists that wish to visit this country and prefer to fly to

His largest barrier would be the fact that he is homosexual in a world that seemingly doesn t accept

The Good and Bad of Religion
There are numerous implications of religion in human society. Perhaps, the main positive ones are its
ability to stimulate a perception of meaning in life, sympathy, mercifulness and love of others. Among
the disapproving implications are included opinionated, ferocious behaviors contrary to other people
of different religions, and the mishandling of power and supremacy. Future results for religious people
can create communities of people who support one another. I would say that one recognized pro of a
religion is the idea of certainty in something superior to oneself. In a realm where there is so many
who display so much of ego and self praise, religion allows individuals to conquer their own idea of
self towards a better end. This is a good factor in terms of being capable of seeing oneself as part of
something greater and not the demise in its own right. Along these stances, the concept of being able
to do fair to others in the name of something more can only benefit to make society and the people
within it excel.
When an atheist declines faith in God, he discards any source of sureness beyond his own level of

confused regarding morality, and will be insecure of his own fate and purpose in life. So how are
atheist people better than Christian people? This question is often at the center of religious dispute.

How Did Religion Shape The History Of The Middle Ages
Religion was extremely important in regard to the shaping and history of the Middle Ages in Europe.
The Catholic Church, which began during the glory days of the Roman Empire, became the driving
force through the Middle Ages in Europe, managing to formulate a unified religious ruling body, a
deep spirituality, and oversaw cultural preservation that helped shape the history of Europe during this
period.
The Church managed to integrate herself into medieval society, where she could become part of the
everyday life of the people. She did this through a structured hierarchy, with the Pope, or the Bishop
of Rome, as her head, and other bishops were given dioceses around the world, and under each bishop
were priests who would minister to the people. This structured hierarchy came about with the collapse
of the Roman Empire. When the Emperor Constantine came to power, he recognized and supported
Christianity, and he created a new capital for the empire in the east. These two actions allowed the
Church and the Pope in Rome to grow in power, firstly because Constantine declared Christianity to
be legal, so they could openly practice their religion, and secondly because he moved the capital and

made copies of the works of pagan antiquity, which allowed much ancient writing to be carefully

Comparing The Economic Growth Of India And China Since The...
Compare the economic growth of India and China since the Millennium.
India and China, the two dragons constantly fighting with each other, both historically and
economically. Although China appears to indulge in the media s thoughts, perhaps India has been
slowly but surely closing the gap or even taking the edge.
China has converted itself from a closed, centrally planned system to a more market centred one that
has a major global role. To illustrate this, it became the world s largest exporter in 2010. These
reforms began with moving away from agriculture, and expanded to the increased autonomy for state
enterprises, the growth of the private sector, the development of their stock exchange, the movement
towards the modern banking system and transparency to foreign trade and investment. However, these
changes, of course, did not happen over night. China has implemented these reforms in a gradual way.
On the other hand, India has been doing much better now than in 2013. Economists predict the
country s economy to pick up further. The recent falls in commodity prices, hurting raw material
exporters such as other BRIC countries and South Africa, are beneficial for India, given that it imports
80% of the oil it consumes. Rich western economies may fret about the falling prices around the
world; Indians are pleased that they no longer have double digit inflation. Therefore, the diminishing
threat of inflation has prompted India s central bank to decrease interest rates in

Pride And Prejudice By Jane Darcy Essay
When pride encounters prejudice. The novel Pride and Prejudice revolve around two characters
Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy from different socioeconomic class and their impression of
each other. As the title indicates, one character is prideful and the other prejudice. As the protagonist
of the novel, Elizabeth overcomes her prejudice feelings in to find happiness. But the path towards
finding romantic happiness involved two phase in the novel: the first phase involved Elizabeth finding
Mr. Darcy to be abhorrent in the beginning and the second phase is involved her overcoming her
misconception of Mr. Darcy. The shift in Elizabeth perception of Mr. Darcy leads to her falling in love
with Mr. Darcy. The first impression is the hardest impression to overcome. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy
did not have a very smooth first interaction. Because of his social status, Mr. Darcy comes across as
very pride during his first interaction with Elizabeth. Mr. Bingly (Mr. Darsy s friend) suggests that Mr.
Darcy dances with Elizabeth at a social event a ball. She [Elizabeth] is tolerable, but not handsome

this is really unique to think about. I have never really thought about this before. As for the lecture

Possible Trigger Events, Behavior as well as scanning are part of the Model of Emotion (Juang

individuals experience based on certain events that are happening and how they all react differently to
those events. My personal heartbreaking experience will explain the three parts of model of emotions.
On October 29th, 2015, I went in for an Anatomy scan to see my baby. However, as the lady was

point I was shedding tears. The event of finding out that my baby inside me passed away triggered the
emotions of sadness. When it comes to scanning, in my opinion as soon as the ultrasound lady told me
that my baby boy passed away I was trying to piece together is this really happening and trying to
come up with any possible solutions on why this happened, however; I nor the Doctor know why my
baby passed away. In my opinion that would be an example of scanning. As for behavior, my reactions
after I found out are that I didn t want to leave the bed. I just wanted to stay in the bed and cry. I didn t
really want to eat but I had too. This would be an example of behavior that was triggered by this
heartbreaking event. I am still heartbroken about losing my baby for which I have to deliver him on

Social Marketing For Public Health
Interestingly, a key focus in Cheng, Kotler and Lee s Social Marketing for Public Health book remains
not only relevant but significant in current social marketing interventions. The authors discussion of
public health issues found that for such social issues to experience a behavioural change, no single
agency is able to make a dent by itself, (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011) hence it was recognised that a
global trend in using partnerships at; local, national or international levels is a better way to enforce
individuals to get involved (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011).
At present, the five year ambition to introduce early intervention services through psychological
therapies remain encouraged by policy makers, in the belief that the more awareness for the project at
a local scale, will help reduce the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health (Gov.uk,
2015) and encourage more people to speak out and seek the medical support they need. (Gov.uk,
2015). The NHS programme runs through the partnership of Child Adolescent Mental Health Services
(CAMHS) to actively focus on the needs of children and young people by offering assessment and
treatment for those who may suffer from emotional, behavioural, or mental health difficulties.

* France is committed to renewable energy source, with the government setting a target of 20% of all
energy source to be renewable by 2020 * There is also a stable feed in tariff (being backed by the
government for 20 yrs) of $0.42/kWh * Taking into account a 1% (CPI in year 2008) decline year on
year, we have an average tariff of $0.38/kWh * But the market size remains small, with a meagre
potential of 300MW by 2011
Italy
* It also has feed in tariff (modelled on Germany s) of $0.59 for 20 yrs and declining annually at 2% *
This makes an average tariff of $0.49/kWh which is higher than the others * Moreover the market
potential is said to reach 3GW by 2016, this market is very lucrative and should definitely be a

United States Market * The major issue with the US market was the lack of a national framework for
feed in tariff, but many states has recently come up with their own policy * Florida came up with a
feed in tariff plan of $0.32/kWh for 20 yrs, but the most significant incentive for the manufacturers is
the 30% tax credit given by the government * This along with other federal support (such as loans and

A Paradigm For Multiple Input Multiple Output ( Mimo )...
Abstract A paradigm for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channel modeling demands diversity
technique to compensate the effects of fading and shadowing. In this paper, error performance of
MIMO system is analyzed with orthogonal space time block code (OSTBC) and maximal ratio
combining (MRC) techniques over Weibull gamma (WG) fading channel. WG distribution forms a
composite channel model which is used to determine the effects of multipath as well as shadowing.
Closed form expressions for symbol error rate (SER) are computed for MIMO systems using OSTBC
and MRC in this scenario. Consequently, the effects of fading severity by varying shape parameters
are also shown by simulation and analytical results. Keywords Multiple input multiple output
(MIMO), orthogonal space time block code (OSTBC), maximal ratio combining (MRC), Weibull
gamma (WG) fading, symbol error rate (SER). Introduction In the present wireless systems, the
demand of proliferation of bandwidth for high data rate and reliable communication requirement is
increasing. Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems are investigated to achieve these
requirements. Also, diversity techniques are recommended to increase the reliability of system.
Orthogonal space time block codes (OSTBCs) are employed in MIMO systems to achieve the full
transmit diversity while allowing a simple maximum likelihood decoding algorithm. This algorithm is
based on linear processing of received signals [1 2]. MIMO system uses

Wimax vs. Long Term Evolution
Wimax vs. LTE:
LTE and Wimax are 4G technologies. LTE is Long Term Evolution project which is been proposed by
3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) which is nothing but collaboration between various
telecommunication companies. So LTE has its background from the GSM technology. Wimax is IEEE
802.16 standard and it s mainly roots in CDMA.
Frequency of operation: LTE operates at lower frequency as compared to wimax. Higher the
frequency of operation, higher the attenuation.
Both wimax and LTE uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). OFDM uses
orthogonal frequencies as carrier frequencies so that there will be no interference between the signals
i.e. it uses the principle of orthogonality. This in turn improves the spectral efficiency.
Multiple Access: Both LTE and wimax uses MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), which a Space
Division Multiple Access technique. It is a smart technique in which the same signal is transmitted in
different streams to the receiver. The receiver choses the best of the transmitted signal streams and
decodes the signal. It is chosen such a way that, the best quality signal is obtained. So, even the
weaker signals are boosted up by this technique.
Infrastructure: Both LTE and wimax uses ip infrastructure. The flat structure of ip helps the mobile as
well as the base station.
Latency: Latency is less in LTE when compared to wimax.
Range: Theoretically LTE has better rang than wimax.
Speed: speed of LTE is way higher than

The North Korean Famine
North Korea has been receiving financial support from the United Nations as well as food supplies.
Many people would claim that North Korea has an ongoing famine due to the floods they would
continuously experience throughout the years, damaging the soil. Others would argue and say that the
famine happened because North Korea is a communist country and the military is purposefully
starving their people. Regardless of these arguments, the fact still remains, the people of North Korea
are dying rapidly due to malnutrition. The only solution feasible to this problem would be to send
agricultural scientists over to North Korea and help restore the damaged soil, so that it may grow
healthy crops once again. North Korea is facing a dangerous famine ... Show more content on

The reason for this, is because it will cost millions of dollars to try and restore even a portion of the
land in North Korea. According to Phil McKenna, North Korean scientists told the delegates that they
would like to reforest hillsides with trees, including the Japanese chestnut, black chokeberry, and
Korean pine, that could both stabilize the soil and provide edible fruits and seeds. But funding for such
reforestation appears tight (McKenna 17). The solution is possible, however, it will cost too much to
fix. There have been ideas of trying to restore everything back to the way it used to be, but there are
insufficient funds to do so. It is cheaper to send North Korea supplies of food and some money, rather
than doing something that will benefit all of North Korea. Not to mention the fact this solution is short
term and does not benefit North Korea as much as the previous solution would. Money seems to be
the only problem with this solution, Even if the nurseries were running at full capacity, North Korea
would still have a long road ahead of it. Bowers estimates that reforesting even half the country would
cost around $46 billion, an amount that exceeds the nation s annual gross domestic product by $6

Sterotyping in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Essay
Topic 1: Stereotyping. The novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is based on the experiences of
one girl, Scout, growing up in Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930s. The novel explains some conflicts in
Scout s life. Scout, the main character, learns that things are not always morally correct and is
confronted with the reality of prejudice and stereotyping. Scout struggles with understanding the
prejudice and stereotyping she witnesses. Atticus Finch, Scout s father, with his strongly held
convictions, wisdom, and empathy, Atticus functions as the novel s moral backbone. (2). Atticus tries
to raise his children to be fair and nonjudgmental. It is through the lessons of Atticus and Scout s
experiences with discrimination that the reader sees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Regardless of the lack of evidence, the jury and town are reluctant to take the word of a black man
over two white accusers. Atticus strongly pleads for the jury to look past race and stereotypes and
serve true justice, They were confident that you gentlemen would go along with them on the
assumption the evil assumption that all Negro s lie, and that all Negros are basically immoral beings.
... I am confident that you gentlemen will review without passion the evidence you have heard, come
to a decision, and restore this defendant to his family. In the name of God, do your duty. (1).
Throughout this trial Scout not only witnesses prejudice and stereotyping, she becomes the victim of
several people throughout the book. When Scout arrives for her first day of school, she meets Miss
Caroline, a teacher from the north. Miss Caroline has predetermined thoughts as to how the class
should be taught and how the children should learn. When Scout tells the teacher she can read and
write, she is punished and told she should not learn outside of school and that she is too young to be
able to read and write. Scout was mad with Miss Caroline s refusal to accept any other teaching
method but her own. This shows how Scout was stereotyped because she was from rural Alabama and
the teacher stereotyped everyone to be dumber than herself. When Scout is verbally abused because
her father is defending Tom Robinson, she becomes

Representing her living family and her father s name, she withstands strife, danger, and death. From
her band of outcast contract killers facing their own inner turmoil an example being LaBoeuf s
fleeting trust in Rooster Cogburn to the danger and death that coincides with Ned Pepper s gang,
Mattie seems to be indestructible. Man, can this girl take a punch! Riding side by side with her mentor
Rooster Cogburn, a man whose reputation lies with the bodies of men he s killed, Mattie exhibits yet
another trait associated with the heroic archetype: gaining knowledge from her mentor. Although
Cogburn s morals may be questionable, he teaches Mattie the set of skills needed for her hunt, and for
life. As they both begin to gain each other s trust, they establish a bond that is mutually beneficial;

The TV Dinner
The TV dinner....taking the family away from the table!
The TV Dinner concept took hold in 1954 when Swanson s frozen meals appeared...they were a
welcome lifesaver for busy mothers and a delight for the entire family. The dinner was a prepackaged
frozen meal in an aluminum tray, packed inside a cardboard box, that could be heated in the oven, and
all ready to eat in just 25 minutes. Best news yet? The meal could be eaten out of the same tray it was
heated in! Yes, eaten WITHOUT a plate,
We won t kid you...there were quite a few people and companies instrumental in the concept of a
complete meal that need only to be heated before eating. While the frozen dinner s lineage can be
credited way back to 1923 when Clarence Birdseye invented a packing and flash freezing of fresh
food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Company marketed the dinner like crazy using the relatively new cultural phenomenon of
television! The retail price of each dinner (marketed as a TV Dinner) was roughly about $1 each. The
company sold 10 million TV dinners in 1954, the first year of production.
Thomas was given a $100 raise and a bonus of $1,000 for his invention, and asked Swanson to
renegotiate his contract for a penny a dinner as long as he lived. A decision he later regretted. The
American Frozen Food Institute honored him in their Frozen Food Hall of Fame as the inventor of the
TV dinner and he secured a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where his handprints were
featured alongside a tray print.. His role as the inventor is disputed.
The original aluminum tray is now on display at the Smithsonian Institution, next to Fonzie s
jacket. So who really invented the TV dinner? It depends on your definition. But whatever the case, TV
dinners were a food

Synthesis Essay On If Beale Street Could Talk
Synthesis Essay With any love comes risk. In the novel, If Beale Street Could Talk, Tish graciously
displays how her love, not only for Fonny, but for her mother Sharon, her sister Ernestine, her father
Joseph, and Fonny s family, ultimately leads to her and Fonny both having the life they wanted
together. As the story weaves in themes of justice, racism, and prejudice, we see multiple instances of
Tish and Fonny loving one another and the people around them, whether it be in casual instances such
as the many times they dine at Fonny s friend s spanish restaurant, to supporting their friend Daniel
during the tough times he faces, to the familial love and support Tish s family offers up during Fonny
s time in jail. This huge display of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most pure senses of love comes from what is displayed by all of Fonny s and Tish s friends
as the try and help Tish and her family free Fonny from jail. Fonny and Tish, during Fonny s stay in
jail have become like Source D s fallen bird. What they both need is for people to come and lift the
fallen bird abandoned on the ground, (Source D) and as time wears on, that is ultimately what their
friends come and do. After Fonny is arrested and they re forced to give up their loft, Levy, the man
renting out the space to Fonny and Tish, calls Tish and tells her that she can have her money back,
anytime she wanted it, and even tells her that the loft stays empty until your man gets out of jail.
(Baldwin, 133) While it isn t much, this act of kindness helps to tie into the central idea that If Beale
Street Could Talk is a story about the human capacity to love. Fonny, as we see in Source F, is like the
man that is lost at sea. He s all alone, with sharks, or jailmates, circling him, and desperately needs a
friends help. Thankfully, more of Fonny s friends do help him out of the love they have for their
friend, whether their help directly helps him get out of jail, or their help helps his fiance, Tish. We
commonly see this in Baldwin s book, If Beale Street Could Talk, when Tish goes to the spanish
restaurant that she and Fonny used to frequently visit. Shortly

Changes During The Elizabethan Era
During The Elizabethan Age, things were a lot, and I mean a lot more different than the things
happening in the now. Things, such as political power, education, government and even literature have
changed drastically because of the constant change happening in our society. In terms of politics, we
differ in the kind of government we are implicating. Back then we used to follow the political
structure of Monarchy, wherein we had a simplified social order of the Monarch or the queen, the
nobility class, the merchants, the yeomans, and the laborers. This structure gave people with higher
ranks complete power over those people on lower ranks. In the Elizabethan Era, Queen Elizabeth I
(the monarch) made all the ultimate decisions for her state.

The Long Historical Journey Of Lebanon s Shia Community
Dr. Haytham Mouzahem a Middle Eastern writer describes the long historical journey of Lebanon s
Shia community. The Lebanese Shia s attained global identity in the 1980s, 5 years after Hezbollah
was founded in 1975, with military operations carried out opposing the Israeli occupation in Lebanon,
and the beginning of Hezbollah s relationship with Syria and the Islamic republic of Iran ever since.
According to some historians and Shia scholars in Lebanon and the west, the actual occultation of Shi
ism in Lebanon was incorporated by Abu Dhar Al Ghaffari , a companion of Prophet Muhammad and
also the fifth person to accept the religion of Islam. Abu Dhar moved to Jabal Amel in the south of
Lebanon where he began spreading the religion of Shia Islam where he later died in 652 AD; and that
is why the greater Shia population resides in the southern region of the country .
Additionally, other historians state that the Shia tribe from Hamadan migrating into Syria and Lebanon
increased the Shia population in the country during the time of the Umayyads reign, again creating
Southern Lebanon a important region for the Shia s, later spreading into the North. During the time of
the Crusades 85% of Lebanon consisted of Shia Muslims until Ibn Taymiyyah, a powerful extremist
clergy issued a fatwa to kill the Shia s, after which many died, fled the cities, converted to the religion
of Sunni Islam or Christianity and adopted Taqiyyah , a practice that meant hiding the

  • 2. The Education Process Of Elementary School Students Knights Interactive Systems Present: Project Presented by: Nick Leyva 9/11/14 1.1 Project Summary The goal of this project is to help advance the education process of elementary school students. A lot of schools have adapted to the use of interactive white boards (IWBs). And while these IWBs do a good job bringing interactivity to the classroom, our product, the KiD 35 takes interactivity to the next level! The KiD 35 is a state of the art interactive desk that every student will be able to use during class. The teacher of the class controls the desk s software so that the students will be focused on the task at hand. I believe that at the young age of the students and the interactivity aspects of this desk will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The transition for teachers is also made quite easily by introductory demos provided with the desks when they are delivered. If a teacher can operate a smart phone, they will be able to use the KiD 35. 1.3 Project Analysis We believe IWB s were a very good step in interactive education. However, they have many flaws that the KiD 35 will approve upon. Traditional IWB s have need the child to get out of their seat in class to interact with the board, not every student gets the some amount of interaction with the board. (Deubel, 2010) Many teachers using the IWB s do not change the method in which they use the board. So if the assignments seem repetitive, students lose interest. In our target market, many traditional IWB s are too large for elementary school students to use. [See photo below.] Some children are just plain shy and do not want to come in front of the class to work in front of their classmates. (Interactive White Board, n.d.) Here is how the KiD 35 counteracts the flaws of the IWB s: The KiD 35 will be accessible by every child in the class; all of the students receive the same amount of interaction time with the desks. Teachers will have access to thousands of applications to always keep the learning environment fresh. The KiD 35 s are specifically designed for our target demographic, which makes them much more usable than larger IWB s. Our current healthcare trends demand nurses to take more active role in the health care decisions in hospital setting, long term care setting and in community healthcare setting. Since nursing is based upon a body of knowledge that is always changing with new discoveries and innovation Potter and Perry (2005), nursing profession is compelled to grow from being just a traditional bedside nurse. Nurses have to make clinical decisions all the time to improve a client s health and to maintain wellness. For example, it is the nurse who usually takes immediate action when a client s clinical condition deteriorates, who decides if a client is experiencing complications that warrant notification of the physician. A nurse must be able to think critically, solve problems and find the best solution for client s need to assist clients in maintaining or improving their health. • 7. Madness In Hamlet Analysis The key theme of madness in Hamlet serves the critical roles of the play, serving to depict the chaos and turbulence reigning through the lives of all within the play. Characters portraying both feigned and authentic madness, such as Hamlet and Ophelia, serve pertinent roles displaying the corruption and destruction of the mind when left alone without a guiding figure, most significantly one in the role of a father, and restrained without a chance to speak freely. Shakespeare creates a definitive line between the sane and mad characters within the play, both in dialogue and presence in many scenes. In the dialogue of both Hamlet and Ophelia in the apex of their madness, as Yi Chi Chen states in his Pregnant with Madness Ophelia s Struggle and Madness in Hamlet, Other than being pregnant in madness, Hamlet s and Ophelia s language is also pregnant with madness (Chen 14.) Through this remark, Chen states that not only is their language sprinkled with puns and dark humor that reflects a meaning underneath a cover of meaningless remarks, their remarks serve to bring about, the truth that lies beneath the masquerade like court of Denmark, each in their own ways (Chen 14.) Hamlet, with his incense towards the marriage between Claudius and Gertrude, serves to utter his disregard towards this relationship in his biting remarks towards both parties. Ophelia, in her utter dismay at the rejection of her love by Hamlet and her father s death, serves to facilitate her thoughts through the use of madness, speaking her mind clearly on her thoughts on Hamlet s exploitation of the mind of women, showcasing her sorrow and heavy burden. While the sane merely remain aloof to the sorrows at hand, the mad seek to reflect them in their true light through backwards remarks and sly words. Most significantly, this dividing line between the sane and mad is first seen in the character of Hamlet. Throughout the play, one of Hamlet s key struggles remains to be his inability to express his desire to rise to action in the name of his father, Old Hamlet, who spurs him to honor his name through revenge. As Hamlet is visited by his father and called to rise to the occasion and honor his father s past name and untimely murder through his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fecal stains look like small blood stains, either red or black, and these are a sure sign that bed bugs have at the very least been in the area. Look for them on sheets, pillows, mattress and box spring. Egg cases and shed skins are transparent but if the infestation is severe there will be many of them that are easy to spot if you are looking. If you find any evidence of bed bugs, continue your search in other areas of your bedroom such as behind picture frames, on other furniture, and in your clothing. • 12. Emerson s Theory Of Self-Reliance An individual deferring to an expert opinion on a practical matter and instead chooses to follow blindly to their own opinion is not a practitioner of self reliance. The moment an individual chooses to forgo the guidance of an expert, who has the time and dedication in the field where they spent their lives perfecting their craft, is the moment they become enslaved by their ego. I will first give a brief explanation of Emerson s view on self reliance, and then show it relates to today. Lastly I will explain the difference between being self reliant and thinking that you are self reliant. Self Reliance, is an essay in which Ralph Waldo Emerson stresses his stance on why an individual should be self reliant, a term in which he describes as a person who possesses the necessary traits to carry out his own individuality against external norms and what their society wishes for them to become. For a person to become self reliant, under Emerson s point of view, I find three quotes that can support his notion: An individual must not seek things outside other than himself, meaning one must not be seeking ideas that he did not formulate on his own, seek approval from others who wish to change his character, or to seek to fit in a society that doesn t match his interests. Instead, that person must embrace the qualities that make up themselves, not making up for the community. The picture of this piece was everywhere; it was on the wall, signs, stairs, maps, and pamphlets. Just by looking at the pictures I saw and not knowing what it was, I thought that this piece was a hair accessory, like a hairpin because of its long handle. However, I was wrong; after finding out what this really is, the Serpent Labret with Articulated Tongue is a labret or mostly known as lip plug. This piece was used by higher authorities such as politicians and soldiers as a sign of power and achievements on the battlefield; just like pins and medals given to soldiers and military veterans in today s modern society. What I like the most about this labret is its design, the tongue sways side by side whenever its wearer moves, it can also be retracted since the serpent s tongue is a movable piece. It s not just a stiff, simple labret but a moving, classic piece which gives its wearer a sophisticated and elegant look. This labret is made from gold which reveals that the person who wore this was a person with authority, a ruler who people respected. For example, the first priority of a firm that competes by achieving the lowest production cost in an industry might be to determine whether it should make additional investments in manufacturing facilities to achieve even greater production efficiencies. The World Outside And The Pictures Broken Pictures After the death of more than nine million soldiers and over seven million civilians, World War I came to end with the signing of The Treaty of Versailles. US President at the time Woodrow Wilson offered his vision for world peace with his Fourteen Points. Influential journalist and political commentator Walter Lippmann assisted the drafting of this blueprint for world peace through a League of Nations. Perhaps Lippmann is best known for coining the term stereotype in his 1922 book Public Opinion. In the first chapter, The World Outside and the Pictures in our Heads Lippmann supports that reality does not always correspond with the perception that the mind creates. These perceptions aids in fashioning what Lippmann calls a pseudo environment. Through a medium of fictions, the mind shapes these environments. Lippmann argues that public opinion is shaped and defined by perceptions of reality and influenced by the pseudo environment molded by fictions. • 22. The Effects Of Caffeine On Children s Performance On... In the neocortex, acetylcholine (ACh) stimulates arousal and plays a major role in attention and working memory (Jones, 2008). Neuropsychological studies on caffeine report increased arousal, alertness, increased energy and concentration (Smith, 2002; Ruxton, 2008; Brunye´ et al., 2010) even at doses as low as 50 mg, which is comparable to the amount of caffeine in a cup of tea. It has been indicated that even in low doses caffeine improves performance on attention tasks (Brunye´ et al., 2010a). However, caffeine intake has also been associated with anxiety, nervousness, irritability, insomnia and even panic attacks (Bruce et al., 1992; Lieberman, 1992; Sicard et al., 1996) . During an elevated plus maze test of anxiety in rats, it was found that high doses of caffeine brought a remarkably increased anxiety like behavior (Jain et al., 2005). Similarly, nicotine improves cognitive performance by improving learning, memory and attention (Levin and Rezvani, 2002; Swan, 2007). In a social interaction test for anxiety, nicotine was shown to have an anxiolytic effect at lower doses and an anxiogenic effect at high doses (File et al., 1998). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Symptoms of measles begin to appear about seven to fourteen days after a person is infected, but can be as long as twenty days. Most cases start with a mild to moderate fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and sore throat. About three to five days later, a red rash appears. The rash begins at the hairline, then spreads down to the rest of the body. When the rash appears, the fever may be as high as 103°F to105°F. Symptoms may last for one to two weeks. Many cases are complicated by secondary infections caused by bacterial pathogens, mainly Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Haemophilus influenzae. These pathogens readily invade the body because measles damages the normal body defenses. Secondary infections most commonly cause earaches and pneumonia. • 27. The Good and Bad of Religion There are numerous implications of religion in human society. Perhaps, the main positive ones are its ability to stimulate a perception of meaning in life, sympathy, mercifulness and love of others. Among the disapproving implications are included opinionated, ferocious behaviors contrary to other people of different religions, and the mishandling of power and supremacy. Future results for religious people can create communities of people who support one another. I would say that one recognized pro of a religion is the idea of certainty in something superior to oneself. In a realm where there is so many who display so much of ego and self praise, religion allows individuals to conquer their own idea of self towards a better end. This is a good factor in terms of being capable of seeing oneself as part of something greater and not the demise in its own right. Along these stances, the concept of being able to do fair to others in the name of something more can only benefit to make society and the people within it excel. When an atheist declines faith in God, he discards any source of sureness beyond his own level of solving or comprehending. The Catholic Church, which began during the glory days of the Roman Empire, became the driving force through the Middle Ages in Europe, managing to formulate a unified religious ruling body, a deep spirituality, and oversaw cultural preservation that helped shape the history of Europe during this period. The Church managed to integrate herself into medieval society, where she could become part of the everyday life of the people. She did this through a structured hierarchy, with the Pope, or the Bishop of Rome, as her head, and other bishops were given dioceses around the world, and under each bishop were priests who would minister to the people. This structured hierarchy came about with the collapse of the Roman Empire. When the Emperor Constantine came to power, he recognized and supported Christianity, and he created a new capital for the empire in the east. These two actions allowed the Church and the Pope in Rome to grow in power, firstly because Constantine declared Christianity to be legal, so they could openly practice their religion, and secondly because he moved the capital and ... India and China, the two dragons constantly fighting with each other, both historically and economically. Although China appears to indulge in the media s thoughts, perhaps India has been slowly but surely closing the gap or even taking the edge. China has converted itself from a closed, centrally planned system to a more market centred one that has a major global role. To illustrate this, it became the world s largest exporter in 2010. These reforms began with moving away from agriculture, and expanded to the increased autonomy for state enterprises, the growth of the private sector, the development of their stock exchange, the movement towards the modern banking system and transparency to foreign trade and investment. However, these changes, of course, did not happen over night. China has implemented these reforms in a gradual way. On the other hand, India has been doing much better now than in 2013. Economists predict the country s economy to pick up further. The recent falls in commodity prices, hurting raw material exporters such as other BRIC countries and South Africa, are beneficial for India, given that it imports 80% of the oil it consumes. • 38. A Paradigm For Multiple Input Multiple Output ( Mimo )... Abstract A paradigm for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channel modeling demands diversity technique to compensate the effects of fading and shadowing. In this paper, error performance of MIMO system is analyzed with orthogonal space time block code (OSTBC) and maximal ratio combining (MRC) techniques over Weibull gamma (WG) fading channel. WG distribution forms a composite channel model which is used to determine the effects of multipath as well as shadowing. Closed form expressions for symbol error rate (SER) are computed for MIMO systems using OSTBC and MRC in this scenario. Consequently, the effects of fading severity by varying shape parameters are also shown by simulation and analytical results. Keywords Multiple input multiple output (MIMO), orthogonal space time block code (OSTBC), maximal ratio combining (MRC), Weibull gamma (WG) fading, symbol error rate (SER). Introduction In the present wireless systems, the demand of proliferation of bandwidth for high data rate and reliable communication requirement is increasing. Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems are investigated to achieve these requirements. Also, diversity techniques are recommended to increase the reliability of system. LTE is Long Term Evolution project which is been proposed by 3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) which is nothing but collaboration between various telecommunication companies. So LTE has its background from the GSM technology. Wimax is IEEE 802.16 standard and it s mainly roots in CDMA. Frequency of operation: LTE operates at lower frequency as compared to wimax. Higher the frequency of operation, higher the attenuation. Both wimax and LTE uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). OFDM uses orthogonal frequencies as carrier frequencies so that there will be no interference between the signals i.e. it uses the principle of orthogonality. This in turn improves the spectral efficiency. Multiple Access: Both LTE and wimax uses MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), which a Space Division Multiple Access technique. It is a smart technique in which the same signal is transmitted in different streams to the receiver. The receiver choses the best of the transmitted signal streams and decodes the signal. It is chosen such a way that, the best quality signal is obtained. So, even the weaker signals are boosted up by this technique. Infrastructure: Both LTE and wimax uses ip infrastructure. Regardless of these arguments, the fact still remains, the people of North Korea are dying rapidly due to malnutrition. North Korea is facing a dangerous famine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this, is because it will cost millions of dollars to try and restore even a portion of the land in North Korea. According to Phil McKenna, North Korean scientists told the delegates that they would like to reforest hillsides with trees, including the Japanese chestnut, black chokeberry, and Korean pine, that could both stabilize the soil and provide edible fruits and seeds. But funding for such reforestation appears tight (McKenna 17). The solution is possible, however, it will cost too much to fix. There have been ideas of trying to restore everything back to the way it used to be, but there are insufficient funds to do so. It is cheaper to send North Korea supplies of food and some money, rather than doing something that will benefit all of North Korea. Not to mention the fact this solution is short term and does not benefit North Korea as much as the previous solution would. Money seems to be the only problem with this solution, Even if the nurseries were running at full capacity, North Korea would still have a long road ahead of it. Bowers estimates that reforesting even half the country would cost around $46 billion, an amount that exceeds the nation s annual gross domestic product by $6 billion (McKenna 17).
