The Effects Of Spaceflight On The Human Body
Space Exploration: What Are the Effects of Spaceflight on the Human Body?
The accomplishment of space travel on 12 April 1961 marked the dawn of a new space era. Since
then, humans have advanced in technology and acquired immense knowledge through space
exploration. We watch video clips of astronauts enjoying a gravity free environment, however, there
are challenges in space, the greatest threat being the lack of oxygen and pressure. Furthermore,
spaceflight has a significant impact on the human body. Moreover, extreme variations in temperature
and intense radiation from sunlight increase the chance of cancer. Significant adverse effects of long
term weightlessness are muscle atrophy (degeneration of cells) and deterioration of the skeleton
(Kansas and Manzey 15). Weightlessness is also known to cause the moon face appearance typical in
pictures of astronauts (Akiyama 22). Health risks also include cardiovascular system malfunction,
balance disorders, eyesight disorders and motion sickness. Moreover, studies show that the crew
members experience psychological effects as well, due to stress coupled with the body adapting
environmental changes. However, the future prospects of space exploration require humans to endure
for longer periods in space. These factors have paved the way for space medicine that studies and
improve the health of astronauts living in outer space. I will consider the studies on the effects of
spaceflight on the human body and attempt to determine

Was the pattern of Alliances in Europe from 1879-1907...
The pattern of alliances and agreements formed in Europe in the years 1879 1907 was shaped
primarily by Germany s concerns about its security
Germany became a formidable power in Europe after its unification in 1871. This power shift meant
that Germany was a key player in the international politics of the time. With multiple crises occurring
in the region, and tensions between countries growing, needs for alliances and agreements grew. The
Dual Alliance, Three Emperors Alliance, Triple Alliance, Mediterranean Agreement, Reinsurance
Treaty, Franco Russian Alliance, Entente Cordiale and Anglo Russian Entente were the major
diplomatic policies formed during 1879 1900. By focusing on the threats Germany faced and how the
alliances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Triple Alliance ensured Italy would be supported if it was attacked by France, and the other
signatories would be supported in confrontation with two other belligerents. This meant Austria would
not have to protect her Italian frontier if war broke out with Russia, a huge gain for Germany.
Germany had made steps to create defensive alliances against Russia, as seen in the Triple Alliance,
and again the Austro Romanian German Alliance a year later. The alliances helped to lower the danger
of war, which would impact both Germany and Europe heavily. Thus, a pattern had formed where
alliances were created for the reason of defence, because of Germany s concerns for its security.
When conflict between Britain and France arose due to tensions over control of the Suez Canal and
Egypt in 1882, Germany reacted with its security in mind. In this instance, Germany was not faced
with a specific threat, but knew it could influence France. However when the Ferry government fell,
all hopes at Franco German cooperation were shattered, as France adopted an anti German attitude.
After the Bulgarian Crisis of 1885 7, when Russia kidnapped the Bulgarian Prince (a German) and
forced him to abdicate, tension between Austria and Russia grew over the Balkans. Consequently,
Bismarck was challenged by renewed French hostility, as well as conflict between his allies. With the

Essay on Third Grade Classroom Observation and Analysis
Classroom Environment A general population third grade class was observed to further understand the
psychological aspect of teaching. The Title I school classroom observed has sixteen students, eight
girls and eight boys, and is almost entirely made up of students from a low socioeconomic status
(SES). The desks are arranged with one big horseshoe and two rows of desks inside the horseshoe
shape. The teacher has made adjustments to seating assignments and layout due to student behavior
and feedback. The class is made up with students eight to nine years old with two students repeating
the third grade. Snowman and McCown (2012) highlight that students in this class would be in

The graphic organizer allows students to inform their teacher what they know, what they want to
know, and what they learned. This was the only constructivism observed in the class. Due to time
constraints, the teacher does not have enough time to go more in depth with the students with the
concepts to evoke more meaningful learning. The students in this class could benefit from more class
discussions to elicit a better understanding of the subject matter. The worksheets that the students
work with have very little relevance in their lives, which only adds frustration to the learning process.
With time being the main reason that there is a lack of constructivism, the teacher could look into
alternative approaches. One approach that might work well in this classroom is problem based
learning. The students are inquisitive and innovative. Classroom distractions would be lowered, and
the students would be actively engaged in their learning.
Theories of Intelligence Howard Gardner s theory of multiple intelligence s (MI theory) is a valuable
resource for teachers, if they understood how they could apply this in the classroom (Snowman
McCown, 2012). In this class, there are multiple intelligences observed amongst the students;
however, there is minimal differentiated instruction to allow the students the best opportunities for
success. It is critical that teachers understand that their teaching methods may not be wrong, but they

Advertising Is A Major Part Of Our Culture
Advertising is a major part of our culture/society; it surrounds us wherever we go. Yet a lot of people
don t realize the underlying messages, and the stark differences between ads aimed at men and
women. It s most certainly different when compared to the ads from the
1950 s, however when we think about how far we ve come as a society it s astounding that advertisers
still play towards these generalizations/misconceptions about gender roles. In some cases they re
reversing the roles to be inclusive and following the current trends, but at the same time there are ads
that promote those same stereotypes that have been around for decades.
They tell us as a society that no matter what form they come in, stereotypes will always be

Of course the same company makes lotion ads for women as well. This ad showcases a woman getting
dressed, presumably after putting lotion on, her eyes looking off at something/someone in the
distance. It could have just shown her putting lotion on her legs, but it has to show her in her bra and
underwear to say that women put lotion all over their bodies. It doesn t have to be hard work to
maintain soft skin, but it should be maintained at all times, even when clothes are being put on, just in
case they re going to be taken off later. Some psychologists say that the circuit from eyes to brain to
genitals is a quicker trip for men than for women (187). If that s true then why is a woman s lotion ad
displaying a woman in her undergarments? Perhaps in some way it s telling men to buy their partner
this lotion because she ll have to be nearly naked to put it on. Even when an ad is geared towards
women, it still plays on the needs/desires of men. As John Berger states; Men act and women appear
(208). That is the case in most ads, but in each ad the man and woman are in a state of movement,
however there are major differences. This Nivea ad for men, and several others, only shows the face as
if that s the only place that they need to put lotion. Whereas the ad geared towards women shows her
in a state of getting dressed (in all white

In households across America, teenagers and parents do not traditionally get along. Donny a teenage

Amusing Ourselves To Death Chapter Summary
America is a nation that focuses on entertainment and obsesses with what we see on screen, so much
so that it has shaped our modern form of discourse. In his book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil
Postman discusses the way that television has shaped the American culture. He makes the argument
that television has now crept its way into the education system, therefore enforcing the idea that
teaching and learning must now be made entertaining.
Postman titles the tenth chapter of his book Teaching as an Amusing Activity to introduce his views on
the impact television has made on education. Postman s belief was that the popularity of television
pushed education and learning to be more entertaining, and now American children are unable to learn
properly in a classroom. Even television that is meant to provide an educational purpose fails to do so
in the way that a traditional classroom does.
In the opening of the tenth chapter of his book, Postman mentions Sesame Street and its immediate
popularity among children, parents, and educators. The program seemingly encouraged children to
learn by making learning fun, but then raised the issue that children wouldn t want to learn unless the
information was presented to them in a more entertaining way. Postman made the argument that
Sesame Street undermines what the traditional idea of schooling represents (143) and so its viewers
were trained to love television, not learning. Further, Postman does not even believe that Sesame

The president and chief executive officer of Sealed Air Corporation, T. J. Dermot Dunphy, explained
the firm s 25% average annual growth in net sales and net earnings from 1971 to 1980: The company s
history has been characterized by technical accomplishment and market leadership. During the last 10
years we built on our development of the first closed cell, lightweight cushioning material, introduced
the first foam in place packaging system, and engineered the first complete solar heating system for

Two GAFCEL salespeople one full time, the other about half time had reached a $1 million annual
sales rate. Several of AirCap s distributors had taken on the GAFCEL line. Hauser was preparing to
recommend Sealed Air s reaction to these somewhat unanticipated competitors. The firm could
produce an uncoated bubble as cheaply as GAFCEL within a month with no major capital investment;
it could run on machines used for another Sealed Air product. If Hauser were to recommend that the
historic champion of barrier coating offer an uncoated bubble, he would have to specify timing, the
marketing program for the new product, and any adjustments in policies for AirCap cushioning and
Sealed Air s other products. As Hauser thought about his options, he again flipped through the training
manual recently distributed to Sealed Air s sales force: How to Sell against Uncoated Bubbles.
The Protective Packaging Market
The three major use segments of the protective packaging market were: 1. Positioning, blocking, and
bracing: These protective materials had to secure large, heavy, usually semirugged items in a
container. Typical applications included shipment of motors and computer peripherals. 2. Flexible
wraps: These materials came under less pressure per square foot. Applications included glassware,
small spare parts, and light medical instruments. 3. Void fill: These

Persuasive Writing Experience
Writing is a powerful tool used to communicate one s ideas and feelings with others. Students can be
taught to convey their opinion through the use of supporting details and clear organization of their
reasoning. Immersion in persuasive writing does not happen by chance. It requires a dynamic teaching
environment in which persuasive writing is regularly and explicitly taught. Writing Workshop
provides a gradual release of responsibility to students using modeling and guided practice. Students
must be challenged to be constantly thinking, talking, drawing, and writing about what they are
learning. Sharing one s opinion is a very social activity, creating instant engagement and and energy in
the classroom. Students validate one another s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mill Stream Elementary School has seen a dip in their overall academic performance over the last
couple years. With a rating of 28% proficiency in math and a 42% proficiency in reading there is room
for improvement (Mill Stream Elementary, 2017). I believe that this may be due to the continual
turnover of staff and the third administrator in nine years.
I am one of the oldest teachers at the school. I have spent my entire 29 years of teaching at Mill
Stream Elementary and at the former Central Grade School. I love teaching and have the most
wonderful class of 14 second graders in my second grade classroom. There are 6 boys and 8 girls in

Comparison Between Indian Philosopher Bhart And Western...
Introduction: Here I want to show the comparison between Indian philosopher Bhartṛhari and Western
philosopher Wittgenstein they deal with language and reality. According to them that language and
reality depend on individual, a person can conceive two types of relationships internal and external.
Actually what we think about it, language and reality are internally related is to conceive language as
necessary means of cognizing any reality. The world can be different than what we perceive or
describe and hence our language and reality are contingently related. One of the greatest creations of
Bhartrihar is about the relationship between word and sentence. The word is not arrived at by putting
together the meaning of each word that constitutes it. Not does the sentence as a whole have a
meaning which can explain by the real meaning of words. On the other hand, the meaning of sentence
is invisible but may be explained by meaning of the real words that constitute it. 20th century s most
famous philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein famous for his two treatises namely, Tractatus and Logico
Philosopicus and other is Philosophical Investigations. His Tractatus is best explained as a synthesis of
the theory of truth functions and the idea of language is a picture of reality. For Wittgenstein also, the
meaningful unit is not a word but a sentence.
Bhartrihari and wettgenstain say that there is a public component in the meaning of a word; they speak
differently about the presence and the

Minimalism Won T Work In Our Economy
Minimalism was first introduced in the early 1960 s as a new idea of thinking and a way of creating
sculptors and art work. Artist that were a part of this movement were called Minimalists and took
pride in allowing the materials they worked with to speak for themselves. Their works involved
extremely simple gestures and ideas. They started a movement of taking something simple in its own
form and finding the beauty in it. Currently there are groups of people practicing Minimalism but
instead of an art form, they have adopted the concept into their own lives. It s safe to say our daily
lives evolve around the consumption of goods or services. In the US are economy is built on the

A short yes would be yes, but only in the short run. The real question should be in what area of
unemployment would it affect. Again, Minimalist practice the principle of needing and wanting less of
materialistic things and striving towards a more fulfilled life away from consumerism. If more people
practice minimalism, then less is consumed. But less of what? Less of fast moving consumer goods.
The disposable industry may get hit, as would fast fashion retail stores. This would be the immediate
effect. In the long term, even more durable goods would be affected. For example, families may
choose to drive the same car for another few years rather than replace it after the usual 5 or 10. Thus,
jobs in retail, automobile, manufacturing etc. would be affected but would be required to adopted to
the new demand of higher quality of goods. Therefore, taking their business locally where the
technology would be supported by more investments, if there is less spending, then there is
automatically more saving. Banks will now hold more deposits which they can invest in other
investments, ranging from energy, real estate and agriculture. Thus, creating more jobs in these
industries as they grow. Are economy has always struggled with unemployment the real question here
is rather or not which type of employment we want to support. Consumerism based employment or a

Matilda in the embrace of her lover, who escapes, leaving behind his suit. Although Philemon doesn t
immediately acknowledge his wife s indiscretion, he immediately enforces a severe punishment upon
her. We can clearly see the transformation in the character of Philemon from this point onward. The
fact that he resorted to such absurd means of punishing her is evident of the extent of power that he
had over her. Matilda is forced to set a plate of food for the suit and carry it around as they strolled
through town. To escape her current misery, Matilda joins a cultural club. After Philemon agrees to
allow his wife to host a party, she invites the club members to her home. Although Matilda was
reluctant to bring out her honoured guest , Philemon insisted that she should. The amused guests
assumed that this was merely a game played by the couple. Despite Matilda s hope that Philemon will
keep her punishment at rest for the evening, he managed to humiliate her beyond extent. This charade
reaches absurd lengths due to his cruelty towards his adulteress wife, ending in the abrupt death of
Matilda. The suit is used as a metaphor as a mean of keeping control in his life. Philemon feels the
need to cling on to his domestic authority and thus uses the suit to do

The Ethics of Xenotransplantation Essay examples
The Ethics of Xenotransplantation
1. Introduction to Xenotransplantation
Xenotransplantation is the process of taking cells, parts of organs, or even whole organs from one
species of animal, and implanting them into another species. The FDA has given their own definition
of xenotransplantation which they say is any procedure that involves the transplantation, implantation,
or infusion into a human recipient of either live cells, tissues, or organs from a non human animal
source, or human body fluids, cells, tissues or organs that have had ex vivo contact with live non
human animal cells, tissues or organs. The main interest of the practice is to be able to take organs
from animals for the purpose of using them in humans in need ... Show more content on

Also, in 1999, UNOS reported that 6125 people died while on the waiting list to receive a transplat
organ.
3. Professional Issues
One of the professional issues associated with xenotransplantation is that doctors may be more likely
to take risks when it comes to the research and experimentation of xenotransplantation in hopes of
attaining fame and notoriety. All medical doctors are required to take the Hippocratic Oath before they
are given license to practice, which they may violate in their rush for fame in the pioneering of this
new medical process. Doctors have certain responsibilities for the safety and health of their patients.

4. Legal/Policy Issues
One legal issue could be that researchers must take care not to violate the laws against cruelty to and
abuse of animals. In addition, if people were to become infected with a disease because of
xenotransplantation, there could be legal ramifications for the doctors who performed the suspected
operation(s), as well as the companies in whose facilities the operation(s) was/(were) performed. To

The Doctrinal Cycle Of Federalism
Federalism is when states or provinces share power with a national government. The United States
government functions by applying the principles of federalism. The doctrinal cycle of federalism is
when the state gain power for a while and then the power is disbursed to the national government for a
while. The power is given back and forth between the states and the national government creating a
cycle of federalism. The ideology of the Supreme Court is an important factor for determining what
level of Congress will hold the power. A liberal Supreme Court is more likely to let the national
government hold more power, while a conservative court is more likely to let the states hold more
power. There are three types of federalism which are cooperative, dual, and new. The ideology of the
Supreme Court affects what type of federalism that the country will live under.
Cooperative federalism is when all three levels of government collectively interact to solve common
problems. In cooperative federalism there is a strong national government and the Supreme Court
allowed Congress to grow and become more powerful. The court s ideology during this time was more
liberal, which impacts how the court will decide on cases that are presented to them. The McCulloch
v. Maryland case was about Congress creating The Second Bank of the United States, in the state of
Maryland. Maryland at the time passed legislation that would impose a tax on the bank. James W.

Summary Of Child Labor In Upton Sinclair s The Jungle

bad working condition to immigrants in Chicago and the nasty meat packing factory. One of the big
issue in this book is child labor. In the book, a child called Stanislovas Lukoszaite, he was working in

People communicate for different reasons such as to share an idea or information, to express a need, to

manager and staff, it ensures effective team working and continuity of care. Effective communication
skills are also needed to encourage talking about feeling, to say what we think or to express our needs,
concerns, wishes or preferences..
OUTCOME 2 BE ABLE TO MEET THE COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE NEEDS,
WISHES AND PREFERENCES OF INDIVIDUALS
2.2 DESCRIBE THE FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN PROMOTING EFFECTIVE
COMMUNICATION
In order to promote effective communication, it is important to establish whether the receiver has
understood the message that has been communicated. This is because communication is a two way
process. It is not simply about sending a message, but also about knowing if the receiver has
understood and processed the message properly. Factors to be considered when promoting effective
communication include barriers such as communication difficulties like autism, dementia, and

Cafe Monte Bianco
Café Monte Bianco
To analyze this case, the analyst conducted liquidity, solvency and profitability ratios for Cafés Monte
Bianco along with sales and income projections for operating the business under both private label and
premium brands. The analyst has found that the firm utilizes high leverage to achieve ROE. Further, it
is the opinion of the analyst that the firm should abandon private label brands and market its own
premium brand; thereby leveraging its industry reputation as a fine purveyor of coffees.
Cafés Monte Bianco Liquidity Analysis: The current ratio is 0.57 and the quick ratio is 0.41. This is
due to higher liabilities and is an indicator of poor liquidity. The Inventory turnover ratio is a healthy

Since an ROE of 21.48% equals the product of 4.41% and 4.87 (ROA and Equity Multiplier), it
indicates that the firm is able to achieve such high ROE only through a high financial leverage.
Strategic Action for Cafes Monte Bianco: Assuming that they will be able to sell all produced
capacity, with 0% advertising, and with a 6,000,000 kg annual capacity [Exhibit 2 in case], CMB
should be able to generate revenues of 178,322,200,000 liras (Scenario 2). With resulting COGS of
114,954,330,000 liras and other expenses, they should still be able to generate a Net Income of
28,732,818,000 liras. Alternatively, if the company spent the equivalent of 10% of sales on
advertising, revenues will increase to 215.62 billion lira, and net profit to 25 billion lira. So the
company may be better off not advertising, at 0% (Scenario 3).
Pursuing Dino s Production Plan for only Private Brand (Scenario 1) will result in annual revenues of
just 52.8 billion liras, COGS of 42.91 billion liras and even with reduced advertising and selling
expenses, a resulting net loss of 1,138,659,000 liras, before taxes. This is clearly not a viable strategy.
Since the firm utilized only 39.13% of installed plant capacity in year 2000, they clearly need to
increase revenues and profit margins by pursuing their own premium brand, instead of pursuing
private label brands with higher volumes, but much lower profit margins, and an

Marriage Relationships in Julius Caesar Essay
Marriage Relationships in Julius Caesar
The relationship between Brutus and Portia is of a loving one. Portia speaks to Brutus gently calling
him, my dear lord and `gentle this actually shows that Portia respects and honors Brutus. Brutus also
replies her gently and expresses his love for her in the lines `render me worthy of this noble wife and
`as dear to me as are the ruddy drops/that visits my sad heart . In these lines, Brutus says that Portia is
as dear to him as the blood in his heart. This shows that they have mutual respect as well as love.
While the love between Portia and Brutus is equally reciprocated, we can see and contrast Calphurnia

Caesar assumes the stand that the time of death is all decided in the heavens and `will come when it
will come . His obvious oppositions to his wife s opinion are an indication that her thoughts and
opinions are not taken seriously and considered. Brutus on the other hand tries his best to cooperate
with his wife and makes an effort to find out about the troubles and worries that she have. Brutus was
the first to acknowledge his wife s presence and to ask about her, which highlight his sensitivity to her.
After Portia explains her concerns, Brutus tries his best to assure her that everything is fine.
Portia kneels at the start of her conversation with Brutus. This shows that she is not ashamed of
begging her husband to for his own benefit. She evens stabs herself in the thigh to convince Brutus
that she us able to keep his troubles to herself. Calphurnia on the other hand, kneels only at the end of
her conversation, when she is desperate. Calphurnia also does not make any physical sacrifices while
Portia stabs herself in the thigh. She instead offers to sacrifice her public reputation, giving Caesar
permission to use her cowardly fear as an excuse for his absence from the senate.
The husbands reaction to their wives sacrifice is also different. After Portia stabs herself, Brutus
exclaims that she is a `noble wife and agrees to let her in on the conspiracy. Caesar reluctantly agrees

The Holocaust And The Loss Of The Holocaust
The Holocaust will never be forgotten and it should never be forgotten. There are many people out in
the world that lost family members and friends through the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a very
brutal and stressful time for anyone that had to experience it. There are people out in the world that are
still alive from the Holocaust and they tell stories about what they had to do and also what they had to
deal with during the Holocaust. People may think that it is dumb to not forget about the Holocaust and
we should all forget about it so we can move on from it but we need to know what happened so that
whatever happened in the Holocaust could never happen to us.
It is therefore important to remember the Holocaust because it is an example of how these trends could
evolve into something far more threatening. However, the Holocaust is more than a warning for the
past. The human cost of the lost of six million lives is incalculable; consider what could have been
achieved by those who died, what could have been discovered, written, invented and prevented. There
is a very long list of Holocaust survivors who have positively contributed to society but they represent
a tiny portion of talent and promise of the generations of European jews lost to us. Many did there best
to assimilate wherever they were by simply building new ordinary live for themselves.
Another reason why we should never forget the Holocaust is because in the book The Night it was

The recession of 1973 through 1975, was due to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries

During these years, Ford was the current President who cut taxes, hoping to increase consumption

In the fiscal year, the GDP rose to 3.4% and 4.3% the following year. This temporary deficit of the tax
cut in 1975, helped raise the federal deficit, increasing the aggregate demand. They did not worry
seeing the unemployment rate increasing rapidly in the 1974 because the enactment of new legislation
ensured that a higher percentage of the unemployed end up receiving compensation in 1975. The first
steps in taking action to the 1974 1975 recession was changes in taxes and spending. These changes

Hyperion And Keats Comparison
Hyperion, Keats shows a remarkable development of his thought about the art of writing and also
about the poet who is just like a type of healer to humankind. Keats begins to write Hyperion after
returning from Scotland to nurse his dying brother Tom who is suffering from painful tubercular. Tom
died on December 1818 and after this shocking event Keats is unable to make any appreciable
progress on Hyperion. So due to the emotional disturbance he isn t quite ready to write his epic. He
tries to continue the poem but he only gives the reason in his letters of not writing about it. He writes

Hamstring Cramps
Your hamstrings are muscle group located on the rear of each upper thigh. It s common to experience
tight, strained or cramped hamstrings, which can occur for several reasons. Upon dealing with
hamstring cramps, take steps to prevent them from occurring again. Before trying any new exercise or
treatment, talk to your doctor and have your condition properly diagnosed.
Muscle Fatigue
Hamstring cramps are common among people who are unconditioned and those who participate in
seasonal intense sports, reports the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. During strenuous
bouts of exercise, your hamstring muscles can fatigue and cramp due to the muscles not getting
enough oxygen. When they lack oxygen, your hamstring muscles will contract and spasm
involuntarily. Thorough stretching, and then starting out slowly and gradually working up to a more
intense level of exercise, can help avoid these types of cramps.

People who are sedentary can find their hamstring muscles feel tight or hard. Hamstring cramps due to
tight muscles can happen when you are active, sitting or lying down. A daily program of general
stretching or a program geared to your sport can often help you prevent hamstring cramps. It is
equally important to properly warm up before and cool down after any activity.
Heat and Humidity
Exercising in hot, humid conditions can lead to hamstring cramps. When your body loses too much
fluid through excessive sweating, you can also develop an electrolyte imbalance. Substances such as
calcium, potassium and others are necessary to help your muscles contract properly. If your body is
low in any of these substances either through a poor diet or dehydration your muscles can
involuntarily contract and spasm. Drinking enough water and eating healthily before and after exercise
can help resolve these kinds of cramps.

Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing
Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing
Introduction:
The process of globalization is changing the way that companies large and small must conduct
business to survive. From external factors such as the international laws and widely varying domestic
tax policies to internal changes to personnel or process, free trade policies are altering operational
strategy, especially for small companies engaging in growth. One of the most determinant changes
brought on by free trade and its gradual permeation of the developing world is the appeal of global
outsourcing or off shoring for growing American businesses. Outsourcing is the practice by which
companies will employ agencies external to the company, and increasingly external even to the
primary country of operation, in order to attain specialty services at a fee per service basis. Also
important to the discussion, the concept of off shoring will find a company expanding into a new
international location by establishing a satellite base of operations within. Each strategy carries its
own unique set of challenges and advantages. Part of our task as a growing company verging on its
first venture of internationalization is to determine what balance of these strategies might best serve
our interests.
Factors in a Global Context:
There are many global factors to consider that have been emergent with the spread of globalization.
For a firm seeking an ideal context for establishing a new manufacturing center, cost is of course a

My Humanitarian And Human Rights Project On The Famous And...
I chose to do my Humanitarian and Human Rights Project on the famous and loving Bob Marley. Bob
Marley is widely recognized as a man that portrays and lives a peaceful life that we could all learn
from. Although he passed on May 11, 1981, his legend still remains bigger and better than ever. Bob
Marley was a great Reggae singer who promoted peace with his songs, free concerts and actions. With
that being said, he received many awards and honors recognizing him as a legend.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945 and grew up in a mostly rural community in the mountains
called Nine Miles. Many of the residents of Nine Miles acquired customs from their African ancestry
such as story telling to share their past and traditions. When Bob was just getting into his teen years he
moved from St. Ann to Jamaica s capital and settled in Kingston vicinity of Trench Town. Trench
Town was a low income community where Bob had to learn to protect himself from men that were not
so nice. He was given the nickname Tuff Gong from his decent street fighting skills.
Although Trench Town was mostly poverty and full of street fighting, it was a culturally rich
community where Bob s musical talents flourished. Trench Town was incorporated in his songs, No
Woman Cry , Trench Town Rock , and the last one being Trench Town . Bob s mom wanted him to
pick up a trade. When Bob was just 14 years old he accepted a position as a welder s apprentice. After

Hispanic Family Structures
In today s world, we have families that consist of different family structures. For instance, before the
1960 s the only family structure that people were familiar with was the nuclear family which is a
typical family household consisting of a mom, dad and child. Over time, families have been exposed
to different family structures. Although it is still common to see your traditional nuclear family, there
are also other common families such as, single parent families, extended families, blended families,
childless families, step families, and grandparent families. For this paper, I have decided to focus on

The answer to this question is that it s both. First off, having different family structures in Hispanic
households, allows one to become independent and free of their own choices. Although societal norms
might enforce having a nuclear family, it is ultimately one s choice of what family structure they want
their household to consist of. According to a study shown in Health and health risk behavior of

of life as well as higher scores for emotional and behavioral problems occurred in almost all non
nuclear family structures, although not all effects were statistically significant (1). In the article,

Socrates s Influence On European Culture
Although Socrates never wrote even one book in his life, his thinking and ideas produce an important
impact on European culture. Socrates has always been seen as a saint who died because pursuit for
truth. He claims that he is a sort of gadfly, given to the state by the God, and proud of it. Eventually,
he was charged by Athenian democrats with corrupt the Athenian youth and other charges, and died by
drinking poison in 339BC. In the trial, Socrates refused to intercede for himself. His words which he

The unexamined life is not worth living, the individual, special, and unique personality and life, and

What is the unexamined life? In my opinion, the life which is following the crowd, simply copying

this is seemed to be the most common life. In this world, the vast majorities of human beings has a

Persuasive Essay On Homeschooling
Homeschooling was first introduced in the 1972. In a case Supreme Court case Wisconsin vs. Yoder
they fought over the fact that public schools were violating their religious beliefs. The court decided to
rule in favor of religious freedom, instead of favoring the states who wanted to require public
education for everyone. The ruling that the Supreme Court made did not allow the homeschooled
parents to teach the kids however the want. The government was still allowed to intervene to check the
child s mental and physical health (Homeschooling, 2017). The main reason the homeschooling began
was because of religious reason. Parents didn t want public education to be forced onto their child,
since it may of went against their religion. There are even more reasons now to be homeschooled. It
would be for religious reasons, or it could be for health reasons. Many parents believe that when their
child is being homeschooled they are getting a better, more personalized education. Although
homeschooling is seen as not being a viable alternative for public school,it should be. Students who
are homeschooled have more skills, and receive a better education in primary school. This will help
them greatly once they graduate high school, and go onto college, and even in the workforce.
HIghschooling should be a more prominent option for all students. Although proponents say that
homeschooling doesn t properly prepare children for the future, homeschooling allows children to have

Many Australian films explore the concept of overcoming adversity , common to films from many
countries but they explore it in a manner unique to Australia and embrace the Aussie Battler or Aussie
Hero icon. The films Gallipoli (Directed by Peter Weir 1981) and Ned Kelly (Directed by Gregor
Jordan 2003) are two good examples of this. Both films show evidence of characters overcoming
adversities throughout their stories. The following will analyse each film and explore the concept by

It was a common belief that all young men should represent and fight for their country in the war, or
be judged and named selfish etcetera; therefore, Archie and Frank felt they had to be a part of it and
signed up. An adversity justly overcome by both characters. They also had to overcome the terrifying
adversity of fear to prove to themselves, and others, that they were able to deal with the hardship of
warfare and suffering.
Likewise in Ned Kelly, the characters overcame the adversity of judgment from others by doing what
they thought was the right thing to do battling for their rights, which in turn earned the respect of
friends, some citizens and family. They attempted to overcome the adversity of discrimination against
the Irish held at the time by the majority of other Australians. Police treated them unfairly because of
where they were from. Discrimination causes a lot of tension between characters in the film. The
outcome of this tension proves the main character, Ned Kelly, to be a true Aussie battler.
The most powerful scene of the film Gallipoli is the final scene. The musical score intensifies the
struggle, despair and hopelessness of the situation. It helps the audience to relate and feel sympathy
towards the character. This scene is depicts the character overcoming his adversity of fear and
becoming and Aussie hero as he runs into battle however, even though he has overcome his fear, it
does not end well. The music

I conducted my observations at the HUB, outside where the tables are located. I decided upon this
location due to its large size, alongside the fact that it is placed in a spot where most people have to
pass by while walking to class. Additionally, I decided to sit outside the HUB rather than inside due to
the fact that I would be exposed to more people, sounds, and smells; I would be out in the open rather
than a closed setting. Almost every UCR faculty member takes pride in mentioning how diverse the

The biggest difference were the population size, drinks of choice, and noise level. The group of people
sitting outside the HUB decreased in size from Wednesday at noon to Friday at 10 am. I deduce that
this was due to the fact that maybe people were not on campus yet as they had later classes, or most
were in class already. Moreover, I noticed that people were mostly drinking water during my
observation period on Wednesday, whereas the overall drink of choice on Friday was coffee. I
presume this shift in drink choice was due to the change in time; people enjoy drinking coffee in the
mornings and/or it helps people reduce the groggy, tired feeling of waking up. The noise level was the
most drastic change. The HUB and its surroundings were boisterous and lively during Wednesday at
noon whereas the HUB fell a bit silent during Friday at 10 am. I consider this change drastic as the
decrease in noise level was outstandingly clear almost immediately. I assume this was due to the fact
that most people were still waking up and had not yet summoned all energy. With these observations, I
not only improved my observational skills, however, I also realized how fortunate I am to attend a

Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life by Charles Darwin (renamed On the Origin of
Species 13 years later) was published in London, England. In it, Charles Darwin specified his
observations and gave his insight on what he thought caused evolution. He called it natural selection.
Before this, nearly everyone believed that a single God created every living organism that none of
them had changed a bit since then. Charles Darwin s On the Origin of Species influenced the minds of

It was on these islands that Darwin noted that various birds, though the same species, differed based
on the different islands they resided on, most notably the mockingbird and finch. It was here that
Darwin first theorized about whether or not species could change over time, based on their location.
Could a species change because of the land, the climate, all of the things that can affect a species? On
the Origin of Species was a breakthrough at the time. It contained radical ideas that many people
weren t prepared to accept, the most widely known being that humans evolved from apes. There are
many important ideas contained within Darwin s book. The first and foremost being: Darwin s belief
that every species, living and extinct, originated from one individual species. Following this belief,
Darwin concluded that organisms within a populace must compete for resources to survive. Also, the
organisms within those individual populations will then show deviations, such as differently shaped
beaks for different food sources. With these variations comes the inevitable fact that certain organisms
will gain enhancements that will improve its ability to compete for resources or survive adversity.
Considering this, it is no surprise that Darwin also theorized that those organisms with beneficial
variations were more likely to survive and pass their characteristics

The Justification of Reverse Discrimination in Hiring Essay
In The Justification of Reverse Discrimination in Hiring, Tom Beauchamp displays statistics of
underrepresented races and genders in institutions. The inequality is due to the underlying persistent
racism originating decades ago. It has been pervasively executed despite federal laws for equality. The
expectation for a level playing field is not a reality, as statistically show with underrepresented African
Americans (1. Beauchamp, CC2011, p 0228). Beauchamp points out that at first sight, reverse
discrimination appears immoral, because it crafts a prejudice for one race over another. However, he
asserts that this inference is not applicable in the real world where ubiquitous prejudice still exists as

There is an overrepresentation of minorities in inferior schools, living in a crime infested city, and
lacking family support (4. Rachels, CC2011, p 0203). If a minority with disadvantages reaches the
same qualifications as an advantaged Caucasian, the minority is more deserving, indicative of the
increased effort needed to put in. Fairness is a necessary condition in Rachels argument and minorities
that are qualified for institutions are generalized to have put in more sweat. In some cases when this
generalization is true, preferential treatment is considered fair. To establish a level playing field,
Beauchamp suggests a policy of strong affirmative action. This includes quotas to be implemented and
supported by government sanctions in a timely manner. Commitment to quotas will statistically show
progress towards a society built on equality. Beauchamp believes that laws are ineffectively
implemented and it is unclear to tell if institutions are intentionally discriminating unless numbers are
available (5. Beauchamp, CC2011, p 0230). Beauchamp s policy is an argument where the end result
morally justifies the method to get there. However, Rachels suggests a moderate form of reverse
discrimination where in a pool of equally qualified candidates, those challenged by unearned
disadvantages get preference. This consequentialist argument suggests that young minorities do not
have role models or mentors to emulate.

Southern Colonies Essay
Sports and games provided a much needed escape from the drear of everyday life. Recreation was
surprisingly unique in the Southern Colonies compared to the New England and Middle Colonies
because of a lack of restrictive religious groups. Though games were not as popular in early
settlements, because of lack of free time and distances between settlers, they became more and more
popular with increased wealth, larger populations, and a growth in towns. Games were played to offer
a relief from some of the grimness of daily life, to offer mating rituals, to express resentment in a safe
way, and to help promote village unity. Sports and games played a large role in the daily lives of the
southern colonists and continues to be seen today.

On May 24, King James I made a declaration on which sports should or should not be allowed on
Sundays and rebuked Puritans for trying to prohibit such sports. ...after the end of divine service Our
good people may not be disturbed, letted, or discouraged from any lawful recreation, such as dancing,
either men or women, archery for men, leaping, vaulting, or any other such harmless recreation...
prohibited all unlawful games to be used upon Sundays only, as bear and bull baitings, interludes, and
at all times in the meaner sort of people by law prohibited, bowling. This created great tension in the
New England and Middle colonies largely due to their large Puritan populations. The South, however,
did not have a Puritan majority resulting in the large growth of sports. Social classes also made sports
differ between colonists. The richer classes participated in fine balls, horseracing, and cockfighting
while the lower classes could only have less exquisite dances and bet on the wealthy s horses and
cocks. The different aspects of colonial life interacted greatly amongst each

Nuclear Power And Nuclear Facilities
In 2014, it was reported that nuclear reactors provided 2411 billion kWh, over 11% of the world s
electricity (Plans for Reactors). During that year, the International Energy Agency held special
attention toward hazardous scenarios. Minus the conspiracy, World Energy Outlook 2014 had a special
focus on nuclear power, and extends the scope of scenarios to 2040 (Plans for Reactors). In 2030, it is
noted that there will be sixty percent capacity growth among nuclear reactors. Countries with existing
nuclear power plant count will increasingly expand their nuclear stations. China will have an increase
of 46%, while Korea, Russia and India will have 30% all together, whereas the US will have a 16%
expansion of nuclear capacity. The plan in motion for 2030 is to have nuclear power plants to have
low carbon pollution. It is noteworthy that in the 1980s, 218 power reactors started up, an average of
one every 17 days (The Nuclear Renaissance) today, there are more than 400 nuclear power plants
already made and used, now in the process of expanding their count. In the 1980s, the US had 47
reactors in their base, 18 in Japan and 42 in France. Now, the generating capacity increased in various
countries such as USA, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. Many countries have power plants which
increase in capacity each year, ...in Switzerland, the capacity of its five reactors has been increased by
13.4% (Plans for Reactors), a few in US increased to 20%, nine reactors in Spain have an

What Are The Most Important Inventions Of Ancient China
Some basic Chinese inventions from the past are the reason for amazing inventions into the future.
Three inventions from China, however, are by far the most significant inventions created. These
inventions include the Mechanical Clock, Smallpox Inoculation, and Moveable Type. These all had
importance in the future, whether it was healing the sick, telling the time or simply writing an essay.
These three Chinese inventions are the reason those things are possible today.
The most important invention in ancient China would have to be the Mechanical Clock. The
Mechanical Clock gave everyday town s people the ability to tell time more accurately than ever.

Gas Station Monologue
It was at around Thursday midnight, whereby I stopped at a gas station in chesterfield. There was a
group of four to six people outside the gas station engaged in an interesting conversation which I don t
know about. The group was made of white people aged from around 30 40 years old. That is when I
remembered of my psychology assignment. So I blasted my music to the max and started singing
along out loud while pumping gas into my car. I was so uncomfortable doing this because I didn t
even know the lyrics to the song. The group looked at me in an awkward manner and started laughing
at me. They went inside the gas station and kept looking outside while they were still laughing. I acted
like I didn t notice them at all and continued. One of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I literally started laughing at myself. Looking on the bright side, I made a fool out of myself and
enjoyed it for a moment and I at least got one thing done from my bucket list. I think the main reason I
was embarrassed was because of the fear of being judged by others. I was afraid of people seeing me
as a fool. I was so concerned about thy self so much that all I could think about were the consequences
of my actions. Being brought up from an eastern culture, my personality matters a lot. I have always
been taught to act in a respectable manner in front of people especially strangers. I have always been
told that I am responsible for my actions and of how people perceive as me. With these kind of
teachings going thru my head, nothing I had done seemed to be adding anything to my life other than
regrets. But then I remembered that I only live once so my personality won t matter when I die. I
believe it is good to have a good persona but it is better off if you have fun from time to time too. Also

Tereus Injustices In Ovid s Metamorphoses
Further on, in Book Six of Metamorphoses , Ovid introduces readers to the characters of Tereus and
his wife, Procne. Tereus, at his wife s request, brings her sister, Philomela, for a visit. However, he
becomes so captivated by Philomela that he imprisons, rapes, and mutilates her. In order to avenge
Tereus, Procne along with Philomela, trick Tereus into consuming the flesh of his own son. The story
of Tereus, Procne and Philomela exists as one of absolute extremes. It contains the most vicious rape,
the most brutal mutilation and finally the most horrific form of retaliation: cannibalism. Procne and
Philomela know that the act of feeding their only son to Tereus would inflict the greatest sense of
revenge to not only parallel the evil acts that Tereus commits unto Philomela, but to surpass them. ...

In most societies, rape and mutilation exist among the worst crimes imaginable, already labeling
Tereus s initial crimes as unjust. However, the act of Tereus feasting on another human s flesh,
especially the flesh of his own offspring, defies all laws of humanity. Though Tereus is the consumer
of the human meal, Procne and Philomela, do not escape free of repercussion either. The ethics of
revenge become a troublesome issue. New battle lines are drawn, as the characters lose all moral
grounding and are drawn into the perpetration of uncontrolled, orgiastic violence (Gildenhard, Zissos
36). In the end, the act of cannibalism is so atrocious that it implicates all parties

It was a bright hot summer day here in Little Pine First Nation, where the events took place. The chief

As the hot dreadful heat of the day goes by slowly the community is together as one enjoying the
music blasted. The bass was pounding on my concession booth the good old country music that
everyone likes. Kids are screaming, parents are cheering, cars and trucks are ramming, horses are
stomping as they too are getting excited for the big day to start. There was a canteen that I put up for
the kids, parents and friends to come and get a cold ice cream or a nice cold beverage or when they are

The other side argues that violent media in particular is causing children to act out on the actions seen
within violent media. According to Leo ...the games are often played by unstable youngsters unsure
about the difference (Leo). The evidence, while partially true, fails to explain that only some children
exposed to violent media are acting out on what they see. In addition, this shows that there is no
causation apparent, as only a small percentage of children actually exhibit behaviors as a result of
violent media. The opposition also asserts that the forms of media that are being exposed to children
mainly involve violence. Leo states that A widely cited survey of 900 fourth through eighth grade
students found that almost half of the children said their favorite electronic games involve violence ...

The adversary also contends that violent media, in particular shooting games are training children to
kill people. Leo affirms that Psychologist David Gross of Arkansas State University, a retired Army
officer, thinks point and shoot video games have the same effect as military strategies used to break
down a soldier s aversion to killing (Leo). There are several problems with this evidence however,
including the fact that the comparison between military strategies and violence in the media is not the
same. Military strategies have a purpose to actually remove their soldier s aversion to killing whereas
the media s purpose is to entertain someone. The other side states that said media, specifically video
games, are targeting people to want to kill innocent people. Leo contests that One ad for a Sony game

The Architecture Of The Italian Renaissance
Theatre architecture in Italy was most exciting during the Italian Renaissance. So we are going to look
at the architecture of three very important theatres from the Italian Renaissance and see how they not
only influenced each other but also how they have influenced the architecture of theatres today. We are
going to start in Vicenza, Italy with the Teatro Olimpico, make our way over to Sabbioneta, Italy to the
Teatro all antica and then end up in Parma, Italy where the Teatro Farnese is located. Not only is
Teatro Olimpico the oldest surviving Rennaissance theatre but it was one of the first permanent
theatres to be constructed during the Italian Renaissance. The architect, Andrea Palladio was a student
of Marcus Vitruvius Pollio who inspired Palladio s design for the theatre. In his article The Influence
of Vitruvius on Theatre Architecture, Donald C. Mullin explains that Vitruvius wrote his treatise De
Architectura Libri Decem in the year 20 B.C. . His treatise contains a variation of information on
Greek and Roman buildings, along with instructions for the planning and design of military camps,
cities, and structures both large (aqueducts, buildings, baths, harbors) and small (machines, measuring
devices, instruments). People think that this was the first book on architectural theory, as well as a
huge cause of Classical Architecture. Which is exactly what Palladio wanted to convey in his design.
He was asked by the Olympic Academy of Vicenza to design this

  • 2. The Effects Of Spaceflight On The Human Body Space Exploration: What Are the Effects of Spaceflight on the Human Body? The accomplishment of space travel on 12 April 1961 marked the dawn of a new space era. Since then, humans have advanced in technology and acquired immense knowledge through space exploration. We watch video clips of astronauts enjoying a gravity free environment, however, there are challenges in space, the greatest threat being the lack of oxygen and pressure. Furthermore, spaceflight has a significant impact on the human body. Moreover, extreme variations in temperature and intense radiation from sunlight increase the chance of cancer. Significant adverse effects of long term weightlessness are muscle atrophy (degeneration of cells) and deterioration of the skeleton (Kansas and Manzey 15). Weightlessness is also known to cause the moon face appearance typical in pictures of astronauts (Akiyama 22). Health risks also include cardiovascular system malfunction, balance disorders, eyesight disorders and motion sickness. Moreover, studies show that the crew members experience psychological effects as well, due to stress coupled with the body adapting environmental changes. However, the future prospects of space exploration require humans to endure for longer periods in space. These factors have paved the way for space medicine that studies and improve the health of astronauts living in outer space. I will consider the studies on the effects of spaceflight on the human body and attempt to determine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The pattern of alliances and agreements formed in Europe in the years 1879 1907 was shaped primarily by Germany s concerns about its security Germany became a formidable power in Europe after its unification in 1871. This power shift meant that Germany was a key player in the international politics of the time. With multiple crises occurring in the region, and tensions between countries growing, needs for alliances and agreements grew. The Dual Alliance, Three Emperors Alliance, Triple Alliance, Mediterranean Agreement, Reinsurance Treaty, Franco Russian Alliance, Entente Cordiale and Anglo Russian Entente were the major diplomatic policies formed during 1879 1900. By focusing on the threats Germany faced and how the alliances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Triple Alliance ensured Italy would be supported if it was attacked by France, and the other signatories would be supported in confrontation with two other belligerents. This meant Austria would not have to protect her Italian frontier if war broke out with Russia, a huge gain for Germany. Germany had made steps to create defensive alliances against Russia, as seen in the Triple Alliance, and again the Austro Romanian German Alliance a year later. The alliances helped to lower the danger of war, which would impact both Germany and Europe heavily. Thus, a pattern had formed where alliances were created for the reason of defence, because of Germany s concerns for its security. When conflict between Britain and France arose due to tensions over control of the Suez Canal and Egypt in 1882, Germany reacted with its security in mind. In this instance, Germany was not faced with a specific threat, but knew it could influence France. However when the Ferry government fell, all hopes at Franco German cooperation were shattered, as France adopted an anti German attitude. After the Bulgarian Crisis of 1885 7, when Russia kidnapped the Bulgarian Prince (a German) and forced him to abdicate, tension between Austria and Russia grew over the Balkans. Consequently, Bismarck was challenged by renewed French hostility, as well as conflict between his allies. With the League of the Three Emperors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The teacher has made adjustments to seating assignments and layout due to student behavior and feedback. The students in this class could benefit from more class discussions to elicit a better understanding of the subject matter. The worksheets that the students work with have very little relevance in their lives, which only adds frustration to the learning process. With time being the main reason that there is a lack of constructivism, the teacher could look into alternative approaches. One approach that might work well in this classroom is problem based learning. The students are inquisitive and innovative. Classroom distractions would be lowered, and the students would be actively engaged in their learning. Theories of Intelligence Howard Gardner s theory of multiple intelligence s (MI theory) is a valuable resource for teachers, if they understood how they could apply this in the classroom (Snowman McCown, 2012). In this class, there are multiple intelligences observed amongst the students; however, there is minimal differentiated instruction to allow the students the best opportunities for success. Yet a lot of people don t realize the underlying messages, and the stark differences between ads aimed at men and women. It s most certainly different when compared to the ads from the 1950 s, however when we think about how far we ve come as a society it s astounding that advertisers still play towards these generalizations/misconceptions about gender roles. In some cases they re reversing the roles to be inclusive and following the current trends, but at the same time there are ads that promote those same stereotypes that have been around for decades. Of course the same company makes lotion ads for women as well. This ad showcases a woman getting dressed, presumably after putting lotion on, her eyes looking off at something/someone in the distance. It could have just shown her putting lotion on her legs, but it has to show her in her bra and underwear to say that women put lotion all over their bodies. It doesn t have to be hard work to maintain soft skin, but it should be maintained at all times, even when clothes are being put on, just in case they re going to be taken off later. Some psychologists say that the circuit from eyes to brain to genitals is a quicker trip for men than for women (187). If that s true then why is a woman s lotion ad displaying a woman in her undergarments? Perhaps in some way it s telling men to buy their partner this lotion because she ll have to be nearly naked to put it on. Even when an ad is geared towards women, it still plays on the needs/desires of men. As John Berger states; Men act and women appear (208). That is the case in most ads, but in each ad the man and woman are in a state of movement, however there are major differences. • 7. Amusing Ourselves To Death Chapter Summary America is a nation that focuses on entertainment and obsesses with what we see on screen, so much so that it has shaped our modern form of discourse. In his book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman discusses the way that television has shaped the American culture. He makes the argument that television has now crept its way into the education system, therefore enforcing the idea that teaching and learning must now be made entertaining. Postman titles the tenth chapter of his book Teaching as an Amusing Activity to introduce his views on the impact television has made on education. Postman s belief was that the popularity of television pushed education and learning to be more entertaining, and now American children are unable to learn properly in a classroom. Even television that is meant to provide an educational purpose fails to do so in the way that a traditional classroom does. In the opening of the tenth chapter of his book, Postman mentions Sesame Street and its immediate popularity among children, parents, and educators. The program seemingly encouraged children to learn by making learning fun, but then raised the issue that children wouldn t want to learn unless the information was presented to them in a more entertaining way. Postman made the argument that Sesame Street undermines what the traditional idea of schooling represents (143) and so its viewers were trained to love television, not learning. Introduction: Here I want to show the comparison between Indian philosopher Bhartṛhari and Western philosopher Wittgenstein they deal with language and reality. According to them that language and reality depend on individual, a person can conceive two types of relationships internal and external. Actually what we think about it, language and reality are internally related is to conceive language as necessary means of cognizing any reality. The world can be different than what we perceive or describe and hence our language and reality are contingently related. One of the greatest creations of Bhartrihar is about the relationship between word and sentence. The word is not arrived at by putting together the meaning of each word that constitutes it. Not does the sentence as a whole have a meaning which can explain by the real meaning of words. On the other hand, the meaning of sentence is invisible but may be explained by meaning of the real words that constitute it. 20th century s most famous philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein famous for his two treatises namely, Tractatus and Logico Philosopicus and other is Philosophical Investigations. His Tractatus is best explained as a synthesis of the theory of truth functions and the idea of language is a picture of reality. For Wittgenstein also, the meaningful unit is not a word but a sentence. If more people practice minimalism, then less is consumed. But less of what? Less of fast moving consumer goods. The disposable industry may get hit, as would fast fashion retail stores. This would be the immediate effect. In the long term, even more durable goods would be affected. For example, families may choose to drive the same car for another few years rather than replace it after the usual 5 or 10. He returns home to Matilda in the embrace of her lover, who escapes, leaving behind his suit. We can clearly see the transformation in the character of Philemon from this point onward. The fact that he resorted to such absurd means of punishing her is evident of the extent of power that he had over her. Matilda is forced to set a plate of food for the suit and carry it around as they strolled through town. To escape her current misery, Matilda joins a cultural club. After Philemon agrees to allow his wife to host a party, she invites the club members to her home. Although Matilda was reluctant to bring out her honoured guest , Philemon insisted that she should. The amused guests assumed that this was merely a game played by the couple. Despite Matilda s hope that Philemon will keep her punishment at rest for the evening, he managed to humiliate her beyond extent. This charade reaches absurd lengths due to his cruelty towards his adulteress wife, ending in the abrupt death of Matilda. The suit is used as a metaphor as a mean of keeping control in his life. The United States government functions by applying the principles of federalism. The doctrinal cycle of federalism is when the state gain power for a while and then the power is disbursed to the national government for a while. The power is given back and forth between the states and the national government creating a cycle of federalism. The ideology of the Supreme Court is an important factor for determining what level of Congress will hold the power. A liberal Supreme Court is more likely to let the national government hold more power, while a conservative court is more likely to let the states hold more power. There are three types of federalism which are cooperative, dual, and new. The ideology of the Supreme Court affects what type of federalism that the country will live under. Cooperative federalism is when all three levels of government collectively interact to solve common problems. In cooperative federalism there is a strong national government and the Supreme Court allowed Congress to grow and become more powerful. They did not worry seeing the unemployment rate increasing rapidly in the 1974 because the enactment of new legislation ensured that a higher percentage of the unemployed end up receiving compensation in 1975. The first steps in taking action to the 1974 1975 recession was changes in taxes and spending. These changes heavily weighted toward a higher disposable income and consumption of moderate and low income persons. (The Economic Policy Institute) The results weren t so great, the consumption percentage of GDP rose in 1974 to 1975 and the investment percentage of GDP was lower in 1975 than in the 1974. Giving that the Ford tax increase of 1974 was not the best policy at that time. Really, the opposite contra cyclical policy was needed because it increases aggregate demand in recessions and decreases aggregate demand in overheated expansions. Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing Introduction: The process of globalization is changing the way that companies large and small must conduct business to survive. From external factors such as the international laws and widely varying domestic tax policies to internal changes to personnel or process, free trade policies are altering operational strategy, especially for small companies engaging in growth. One of the most determinant changes brought on by free trade and its gradual permeation of the developing world is the appeal of global outsourcing or off shoring for growing American businesses. Outsourcing is the practice by which companies will employ agencies external to the company, and increasingly external even to the primary country of operation, in order to attain specialty services at a fee per service basis. Also important to the discussion, the concept of off shoring will find a company expanding into a new international location by establishing a satellite base of operations within. The ruling that the Supreme Court made did not allow the homeschooled parents to teach the kids however the want. The government was still allowed to intervene to check the child s mental and physical health (Homeschooling, 2017). The main reason the homeschooling began was because of religious reason. It would be for religious reasons, or it could be for health reasons. Many parents believe that when their child is being homeschooled they are getting a better, more personalized education. They attempted to overcome the adversity of discrimination against the Irish held at the time by the majority of other Australians. Police treated them unfairly because of where they were from. The biggest difference were the population size, drinks of choice, and noise level. The group of people sitting outside the HUB decreased in size from Wednesday at noon to Friday at 10 am. Moreover, I noticed that people were mostly drinking water during my observation period on Wednesday, whereas the overall drink of choice on Friday was coffee. I presume this shift in drink choice was due to the change in time; people enjoy drinking coffee in the mornings and/or it helps people reduce the groggy, tired feeling of waking up. The noise level was the most drastic change. The HUB and its surroundings were boisterous and lively during Wednesday at noon whereas the HUB fell a bit silent during Friday at 10 am. I consider this change drastic as the decrease in noise level was outstandingly clear almost immediately. Following this belief, Darwin concluded that organisms within a populace must compete for resources to survive. Fairness is a necessary condition in Rachels argument and minorities that are qualified for institutions are generalized to have put in more sweat. In some cases when this generalization is true, preferential treatment is considered fair. To establish a level playing field, Beauchamp suggests a policy of strong affirmative action. This includes quotas to be implemented and supported by government sanctions in a timely manner. Commitment to quotas will statistically show progress towards a society built on equality. Beauchamp believes that laws are ineffectively implemented and it is unclear to tell if institutions are intentionally discriminating unless numbers are available (5. Beauchamp, CC2011, p 0230). Beauchamp s policy is an argument where the end result morally justifies the method to get there. • 45. Gcse Narrative It was a bright hot summer day here in Little Pine First Nation, where the events took place. The chief and councillor s had organized a fun filled day with family and friends spending it with one another. As the hot dreadful heat of the day goes by slowly the community is together as one enjoying the music blasted. The bass was pounding on my concession booth the good old country music that everyone likes. Kids are screaming, parents are cheering, cars and trucks are ramming, horses are stomping as they too are getting excited for the big day to start. There was a canteen that I put up for the kids, parents and friends to come and get a cold ice cream or a nice cold beverage or when they are hungry, I sold practically anything. The money ... After the boys were down it was the woman s turn I went against all my aunties and cousins. I was nervous and shaky and my palms were sweaty from being all nervous of the audiences there watching. I surely did surprise myself as I made every ball over the fence I kept hitting home runs after home runs, kept making it to the next round with the others I was tied with. People were saying Go Whitney you can do it girl I looked around as I patiently waited for my turn, peoples kids were falling asleep in strollers on the benches in their parents ... • 46. Military Strategies The other side argues that violent media in particular is causing children to act out on the actions seen within violent media. According to Leo ...the games are often played by unstable youngsters unsure about the difference (Leo). The evidence, while partially true, fails to explain that only some children exposed to violent media are acting out on what they see. In addition, this shows that there is no causation apparent, as only a small percentage of children actually exhibit behaviors as a result of violent media. The opposition also asserts that the forms of media that are being exposed to children mainly involve violence. Leo states that A widely cited survey of 900 fourth through eighth grade students found that almost half of the children said their favorite electronic games involve violence ... Leo affirms that Psychologist David Gross of Arkansas State University, a retired Army officer, thinks point and shoot video games have the same effect as military strategies used to break down a soldier s aversion to killing (Leo). There are several problems with this evidence however, including the fact that the comparison between military strategies and violence in the media is not the same. Military strategies have a purpose to actually remove their soldier s aversion to killing whereas the media s purpose is to entertain someone. The other side states that said media, specifically video games, are targeting people to want to kill innocent people. Leo contests that One ad for a Sony game says: Get in touch with your gun toting, testosterone pumping, cold blooded murdering side (Leo). • 48. The Architecture Of The Italian Renaissance Theatre architecture in Italy was most exciting during the Italian Renaissance. So we are going to look at the architecture of three very important theatres from the Italian Renaissance and see how they not only influenced each other but also how they have influenced the architecture of theatres today. We are going to start in Vicenza, Italy with the Teatro Olimpico, make our way over to Sabbioneta, Italy to the Teatro all antica and then end up in Parma, Italy where the Teatro Farnese is located. Not only is Teatro Olimpico the oldest surviving Rennaissance theatre but it was one of the first permanent theatres to be constructed during the Italian Renaissance. The architect, Andrea Palladio was a student of Marcus Vitruvius Pollio who inspired Palladio s design for the theatre. In his article The Influence of Vitruvius on Theatre Architecture, Donald C. Mullin explains that Vitruvius wrote his treatise De Architectura Libri Decem in the year 20 B.C. . His treatise contains a variation of information on Greek and Roman buildings, along with instructions for the planning and design of military camps, cities, and structures both large (aqueducts, buildings, baths, harbors) and small (machines, measuring devices, instruments). People think that this was the first book on architectural theory, as well as a huge cause of Classical Architecture. Which is exactly what Palladio wanted to convey in his design. He was asked by the Olympic Academy of Vicenza to design this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
