Readiness To Collaborate Scale (PCA)
The proposed study will employ a quantitative survey design approach that will set out to validate a
new scale; the Readiness to Collaborate Scale. This study will focus on validation and internal
consistency through the use of Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Chronbach s Alpha (CA).
This study will not be testing for reliability. In order to test for test retest reliability, two assumptions
are required. The first is that the characteristic being measured, in this case readiness to collaborate
does not change over the time period, which, for respondents taking the survey, it may, due to entering
into a team prior to the next test. The second assumption is that the time between each test is sufficient
enough that respondents do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each phase will use different participants. The Readiness to Collaborate Scale will be a quantitative
measure. However, to properly develop the survey, this study will be informed by some interviews
with subject matter experts. Using a systematic item development framework as a guide, this research
will focus on the development and validation of an instrument that can be used to gauge readiness for
individual practitioners to enter into interprofessional collaborative teams. This study will not
investigate any subsequent interventions that may rise from a practitioner taking the survey. However,
it is possible, that where barriers to collaboration may be identified through the analysis of the tool,
organizations may have workshops or other continuing educational opportunities to address them.
However, this study will not be recommending the types of interventions that may be

How Law is Made and Interpreted in French Civil Law System
The civil law is a branch of private law governing relations between people, whether individuals or
legal entities (Sacco, 1991, p.25).
It comprises of:
1. The law of obligations (including contract law);
2. The right people;
3. The family law;
4. The right of property;
5. The law of succession.
In France, civil law is the set of issues and legal acts which fall within the civil courts (Cruz, ... Show

It happens to enjoy a de facto position owing to its two functions, both of which are complementary to
each other: all the current rules of law are explained by it, are synthesized by it, imperfections are
highlighted and solutions are presented, which imparts an improved use of these laws. Secondly, it
casts an influence on legislator in the creation of legislation and usage of laws by jurors (Bermann
Picard, 2008, p.268).

The fundamental assumption upon which Confucianism operates is that human beings are generally

Essay On Nanoparticles
In recent years, inorganic and chemosynthesized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles
(SIONPs) such as Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4 MgNPs) have attracted extensive interest for
their biocompatible (Kunzmann et al., 2011) and low toxic properties mainly in the human body
studied (Jeng and Swanson, 2006; Karlsson et al., 2009) which make them as promising remedial
tools in related fields. Magnetite nanoparticles is the most studied for many technological applications
in biomedicine, such as high sensitivity biomolecular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (Bulte et al.,
2001), in vivo targeted drug delivery (Sunderland et al., 2006), hyperthermic agents and enhancer in

Whereas, marine macroalgae have richness in minerals (Wells et al., 2017) that can be used for the
greener route synthesis of Fe3O4 MgNPs, and as bionanofactories materials (LewisOscar et al., 2016)
have the ability to accumulate metals and reduces ions, and could be the superior contender for
biosynthesis of metallic NPs (Davis et al., 1998). However, the synthesis of stable Fe3O4 MgNPs
using algae extracts are very complicated due to the high reactivity, high particle instability, great
propensity of iron ions to oxidization and reduced with a wide array of various chemical compounds,
and high tendency to aggregate into agglomerates within the solution (EL Kassas et al., 2016;
Makarov et al., 2014; Huang et al., 2007). In view of inorganic iron oxide nanoecotoxicity, little
studies report in the human (mainly inorganic Nano Fe3O4) (Jeng and Swanson, 2006; Karlsson et al.,

for use in widespread applications. Hence, due to their

The Interlopers By Ulrich Von Gradwitz And George Znaeym
In The Interlopers, Ulrich von Gradwitz and George Znaeym are descendants of wealthy families, who
have been in dispute over some land for some years. In Ulrich s grandfather s time, his family used the
court to seize the land from the neighboring Znaeym family, who the Gradwitzs believed illegally
possessed the land. The Znaeyms never accepted the court s decision, and have continued to hunt in
the forest patch. Georg continues to hunt on the strip of land at the edge of Ulrich s forest because he
believes it should still belong to his family. In Two Friends, on the other hand, Morissot and Sauvage s
relationship was based off of their friendship. For example, they would often spend half of the day
keeping each other company. The word

Essay on Ford Motor Company
Ford Motor Compnay HISTORY
Henry Ford was an engineer from Detroit, Michigan who had an idea. By 1902, Ford had attempted
several times to produce a gas powered vehicle, but with little capital, he realized that his attempts
were futile. Ford approached a man by the name of Alexander T. Malcomson about the possibility of
manufacturing an automobile. Malcomson, a friend of the family and wealthy coal merchant was
reluctant at first but finally agreed with Ford, and decided to assit Ford financially with his endeavor.
With Malcomsons investment and Ford s engineering skills a partnership was formed and in mid June
of 1903, papers of incorporation for the Ford Motor Company were filed in Dearborn, Michigan.

GLOBAL BRANDS
Trust our company, love our brands and delight in our services. This is the theme of Ford s global
brand strategy. Ford s approach to brand marketing is that of six distinctive vehicle brands and four
distinctive service brands. Among these vehicle brands are Mercury, Lincoln, Ford, Jaguar, Aston
Martin, Mazda, and soon Volvo. With several different brands under the name Ford a number of
products with an overwhelming set of characteristics has been developed. These strong brand names,
along with unique models within each brand assist Ford to build long term, sustainable links to
customers throughout the world. (For a listing of Ford models, see appendix.) People automatically
associate certain nameplates to Ford, such as the Mustang, Thunderbird, and the ever popular Taurus.
The brand characteristic of a Ford truck is Built Ford Tough, while the characteristics of a sport utility
vehicle is , go anywhere, do anything, practical adventure. The Jaguar XJR is another example of a
unique brand of Ford. There are no others like it on the market today. The XJR is targeted at those
customers who are looking for that extravagant muscle car. All of these sub brands share the same
global promise of the Ford Motor Company.

Lesson That Help Me
The Lesson That Helped Me More Than Anything A character in Norton Juster s The Phantom
Tollbooth was taught a something that they didn t was valuable at the time, but later in life found that
it was something that helped him. As we grow up we question a lot of the things that we are taught,
like how is it going to help us in the future. For me it was treating others the way you want to be
treated. To me I thought that we should treat others the way they treat us. My family tried to show me
that that wasn t the answer and that nothing is going to work if you don t know how to move on from
what they have done for you. Today I m in highschool and I can tell you that treating others the way
you want to be treated rather than treating them like they treated you is very important. People mature
and learn from their mistakes and often need to be accepted into a different group. Some kids don t
know where they want to be so they treat some people different than others. In elementary school I
was one of the kids that was bullied and was made fun because I was bigger than everyone else. It hurt
me that I wouldn t ever be able to fit in with all the popular groups. They just didn t accept me. It

Brave New World And Brave New World
The 1920 s and the 1930 s brought about many changes in the world such as financial fluctuations and
advancements in technology. The novel Brave New World , by Aldous
Huxley, and the short story There Will Come Soft Rains , by Ray Bradbury, gives an excellent
presentation of futuristic elements and how world climate at the time affected how the author
perceived the future. Both of these stories paint a picture of a world where technology has advanced to
the point that it has negatively affected mankind. Using new historicism, this paper will explore the
different ideas and thoughts of the authors and how they got influenced by the historical events
happening in their time as well as the developing technologies. This paper will also explore how the
two stories, even though written on different decades, are very similar in nature through their views,
themes, and the ultimate effect on society.
Huxley writes the novel Brave New World in 1931 around the time technology rapidly replaced
workers jobs and made unemployment rates increase. This caused many people to take any job they
could get such as factory work. In the novel, Aldous Huxley describes a future world where every
single person is working in a factory and doesn t have a say rather or not they want to work there. The
novel shows Huxley sees the future as alienated and ruled by a God who controls every aspect of
people s lives. During this time Huxley writes his novel, the

Generic Biologics As A Tool For Evaluating The Safety And...
1.Background/Statement Of Problem: Generic biologics (otherwise referred to as biosimilars or follow
on biologics), are described by the FDA as biological products that are highly similar to already
approved biological products, notwithstanding minor differences in clinically interactive components
and for which there are no clinically meaningful differences between the biosimilar and the approved
biological products in terms of safety, purity and potency [4]. Biosimilars are copies of approved
biologics, whose patent protection has ended and are analogous to a generic version of a chemically
derived drug. Generic biologics are however more complicated to develop than a generic version of a
chemically derived drug owing to their complex structure and inherent variability [3]. The assessment
of bioequivalence as a tool for evaluating the safety and efficacy is based on the fundamental
Bioequivalence Assumption that if two drug products are shown to be bioequivalent in average
bioavailability, it is assumed they will reach the same therapeutic effect and be used interchangeably
[1]. However, characterizing generic versions of small molecules drugs is considerably easier than
characterizing biologic drugs due to several key characteristics [3], based on the fact that
characteristics of biologics are influenced by: choice of source materials (cell line), production
process, purification process and the final pharmaceutical formulation. Differences in

A Leader s Framework For Decision Making
In the article titled, A leader s framework for decision making , the authors David Snowden and Mary
E. Boone discuss the poor policy decisions at the governmental level and the challenges facing
uncompetitive local firms. The article explains how managers rely on common leadership approaches
that work well in one set of circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex environment of the
current business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their instincts. They will need
to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to the wisdom of the group and
when to take their own counsel. A deep understanding of context, the ability to embrace complexity
and paradox, and a willingness to flexibly change leadership style will be required for leaders who
want to make things happen in a time of increasing uncertainty (Snowden Boone, 2007).
Analysis
David J. Snowden is the founder and chief scientific officer of Cognitive Edge, an international
research network. He is based primarily in Lockeridge, England. Snowden holds an MBA from
Middlesex University, and a BA in Philosophy from Lancaster University; and started his working
career with Data Sciences Ltd (formerly Thorn EMI software), acquired by IBM in 1996. He was the
Director of IBM s Institute for Knowledge Management and the founder of the Cynefin Center for
Organizational Complexity. During this time, Snowden developed the Cynefin framework, a practical

Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands Essay
Impact of Global Warming on Coastal Wetlands
Professor s comment: Jane wrote this research paper for my Advanced Composition course. The
assignment asks the students to read and understand six to ten articles within a research area of their
choice, then synthesize the information so that a reader can quickly understand the present state of
research in that area. Jane chose to look at how increased flooding and salinity might affect coastal
wetland soils and species, and she organized the material clearly and effectively. What I liked
particularly about this review was that it moved logically from the effects of flooding and salinity on
wetland soils to the effects on the plants growing there to the overall effects on the wetland, both ...

Additionally, Ehhas been shown to decrease even further when soils are flooded with increased
salinity levels (Baldwin and Mendelssohn, 1998; Flynn et al., 1995). Under these conditions, the soil
medium becomes highly reducing and can affect wetland vegetation in two ways. First, and probably
most significant, is the reduction of sulfate (present in seawater) to hydrogen sulfide, a known
phytotoxin that has been shown to reduce wetland vegetation growth and/or survival at higher
concentrations (Flynn et al., 1995). Secondly, highly reducing conditions can interfere with a plant s
ability to uptake nitrogen by altering its form and availability in the soil (Webb et al., 1995).
Other problems created by high salinity soil conditions include the change in water potential necessary
for the plant to overcome the elevated salt concentration in the soil, and the possibility of toxicity due
to uptake of Na+ and Cl ions (Flynn et al., 1995).
Physiological Responses of Wetland Plants due to Increased Flooding and Salinity
Although tolerance to increased flooding and salinity conditions varies somewhat by species, wetland
species that survive these heightened conditions demonstrate either some or all of the following
characteristics: lowered photosynthetic activity,

Spina Bifida Pregnancy Disorder
Have you ever heard of the disorder spina bifida? Well, if you have not, you should learn many
interesting facts about this particular defect. Spina bifida is the most common neural birth disorder;
affecting a little over 1,500 babies every year, in the United States alone. There are three stages of
spina bifida, spina bifida occulta, Meningocele, and Myelomeningocele. The last stage,
Myelomeningocele , is the worst stage of spina bifida.
Scientists do not know why spina bifida occurs in newborns, but they do believe it is caused by a
variety of factors during the first few months of the pregnancy. These factors include radiation, genetic
mutations, the use of drugs or alcohol, etc. Doctors can identify this disorder before the baby is born
with the help of an ultrasound. The ultrasound would show the small incision in ... Show more content

Speech and learning, paralyzation, clubfoot, sway back, and nystagmus are some of the difficulties
spina bifida patients may also endure. Most children who are born with the last phase of spina bifida
may be wheelchair bound their whole life. Patients may also have trouble controlling their bladder,
they may suffer from depression, or be very distant from their peers. Spina bifida has very little life
threatening symptoms, and many can be corrected with surgery.
There are workshop classes for parents and children on how to make clean up kits for those who
cannot control their bladder. In these kits there would be a clean pair of clothes, a small towel,

Culminating Performance Analysis
This past December, I have completed the last part of my Culminating Performance Task for the grade
11 English course. This particular essay is rather long and there are many difficulties I have to face
while writing it. Although it may not be perfect, however, I am quite satisfied with the outcome.
Throughout the process, based on the compliments and criticisms by my peers, I have learned many
new methods that can help me to accomplish an excellent mark for my essays in the future. They
kindly provided ideas for improvements such as grammar check and consistency in writing, and the
one which I believe to be the most constructive is how to be efficient in my analysis and be logical in

Therefore, in the upcoming year, I wish to improve my grammar skills by reading more books and
other essays from my peers, if they allow me to, so that I can learn how to properly apply the use to
grammar and punctuation in a paragraph. Lastly, the third mistake I want to reflect on is my choices of
words. As a grade 11 students, I am aware that I am required to effective words for my level in writing
and I try to use as many powerful words as possible in order to fully explain my arguments. However,
when I write an essay, I think of many words to use but they may not necessarily be the perfect choice
for the sentence, because sometimes simpler words can be enough for the explanation. If I use difficult
vocabularies, but the meaning of it is not suitable for the sentence, then this would just worsen the
writing. Now that I understand how to correctly use the right vocabularies, I hope in the future the
same mistake will not occur. To conclude, I have reflected upon three points in this reflection, and that

Cause And Effect Essay On Scarlet Fever
You have a fever of 102 degrees or higher. It hurts to move, because you have a sandpaper like rash, it
feels as almost youre burning from the inside out. You have side effects like nausea, vomiting,
headache, swollen glands, body aches, and even the horrible ¨strawberry tongue¨. This sickness is
definitely something you would pay money for to never have again, as this is very serious and not
something to take lightly. This is know as the Scarlet Fever. In the 1800s, the scarlet fever was
basically known as a death sentence.
¨One of the most dreaded diseases of childhood¨. This disease is so severe that it causes death in a
short amount of time or gives rise to even more severe complications. In the seventeenth century, this
disease was separated from other infections, especially the measles, but remained for the nineteenth
century. The fatality of this disease depends upon the virulence of the Scarlet Fever organism. Death
from the Scarlet Fever varies from one to fifteen percent. This deadly diseases is definitely not
something that people took lightly, that is rather a good thing though.
The cause of the scarlet fever is actually rather complicated. Scientist are mostly sure that Streptococci
are almost constantly found in the throat and blood of Scarlet Fever patients. They say it is caused by
an infection with the group A beta hemolytic streptococcus. Which is usually transmitted by
respiratory droplets. The period of incubation varies, but it generally lasts from 3 to

Logical Fallacies Summary and Application Essay
Logical Fallacies Summary and Application
What do you see when you look at Begging the Question, Hasty Generalization, and Appealing to
Emotion? When you initially look at these three categories they may not seem to have too much in
common. However, when you look deeper you will see that in fact, they are all different types of
logical fallacies. Logical fallacies are errors of reasoning, errors that may be recognized and corrected
by prudent thinkers (Downes, 1995). The following quote helps explain why logic is important to us
in today s society. Logic is not everything. But it is something something which can be taught,
something which can be learned, something which can help us in some degree to think more sensibly

Small samples will tend to be unrepresentative. The general idea is that small samples are less likely
to contain numbers proportional to the whole population.
Since Hasty Generalization is committed when the sample is too small, it is important to have samples
that are large enough when making a generalization. The most reliable way to do this is to take as
large a sample as is practical. If the population in question were not very diverse then a very small
sample would suffice. If the population were very diverse then a fairly large sample would be needed.
The size of the sample also depends on the size of the population. A Hasty Generalization, like any
fallacy, might have a true conclusion. However, as long as the reasoning is fallacious there is no
reason to accept the conclusion based on that People often commit Hasty Generalizations because of
bias or prejudice. People also commonly commit Hasty Generalizations because of laziness or
sloppiness. It is very easy to simply leap to a conclusion and much harder to gather an adequate
sample and draw a justified conclusion. Therefore, avoiding this fallacy requires minimizing the
influence of bias and taking care to select a sample that is large enough.
A great example of this fallacy that everyone has probably experienced is when a teenager is talking to
their parent and says, But why can t

Particle Swarm Optimization And Its Range Of Operation
function, their numbers and intersection value determines accuracy of the tool and its range of
operation. If the membership function covers poles values from 0 to 4 then the maximum value for
pole is 4 and the least value is 0 and same thing happens for the constants. Each unit reduces an order
of two to order of one. If a transfer function of higher order is needed to be reduced the operation is
repeated several times. For example an order 8 to 2 function reduction will reduce the 8 poles into 4
poles then the 4 new poles into the final 2 poles. E. Particle Swarm Technique
Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is initialized with a group of random particles (solutions) and then
searches for optima by updating generations. In every iteration, each particle is updated by following
two best values. The first one is the best solution (fitness) each particle has achieved so far, this value
is called Pbest. Another best value that is tracked by the particle swarm optimizer is the best value,
obtained so far by any particle in the population. This best value is a global best and called Gbest.
Each particle consists of: Data representing a possible solution, a velocity value indicating how much
the Data can be changed, a personal best (Pbest) value indicating the closest the particle s Data has
ever come to the Target.
The particles data could be anything. In the flocking birds example above, the data would be the X, Y,

Essay Characterization in The Good Soldier
In The Good Soldier, Ford Maddox Ford does not fully develop any of the characters. The reader is
intended to use the narrator Dowell s disconnected and inaccurate impressions to build a more
complete version of who the characters are, as well as form a more accurate view of what actually
happens with the sad affair (Ford 9) of Dowell s pathetic life. This use of a single character s various
perceptions creates a work that follows the style of literary impressionism, which, to some extent,
should be only a series of personal impressions that culminates in the portrayal of reality as a
subjective experience (van Gunsteren 239). This very subjectivity of reality is clearly evident in
Dowell s perception of other people and events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also says that her heart had made him lead the life of the sedulous, strained nurse (13), constantly
needing to watch her and protect her from anything that might possibly excite her or cause damage to
her heart. While this apparently constrictive relationship could be construed as irritating, Dowell does
not seem to have any objection to the role Florence has given him, even when he later realizes that she
had faked her heart condition to manipulate him. For the most part, Florence even inspires some
degree of pity in him, and she often becomes poor dear Florence (12) in his mind. That he is capable
of pity for such a manipulative person is only explained by his oblivious nature. This particular
version of Florence shows the full extent of his lack of understanding as he attempts to explain things
to himself. It also shows the degree of his gullibility. Dowell also describes Florence as weak and
simple minded, saying that she was bright and she danced (17). This portrays Florence as an
essentially superficial person. However, this superficiality does not really say anything directly about
Florence, but illustrates what Thomas C. Moser phrases as Dowell s conviction of the
meaninglessness of existence (Moser 354). Dowell s life consists entirely of a series of dinners and
teas, none of which he sees any point in, aside for

Persian Culture Research Paper
The first traces of human settlement in the region date back to the prehistoric period, circa 9000 BCE
Persians have survived millenniums of invasions and conquests. Persia was a powerhouse of academic
knowledge in ancient times with leaders in astronomy, medicine, mathematics, literature and
philosophy. They have left behind not only intricate art objects, but also tools used for smelting and
refining pottery, as well as making wine. One of the recent archaeological discoveries claims that the
earliest and oldest archaeological finding of winemaking and production comes from an area in Persia
called Hajji Firuz Tepe, a Neolithic village site in northern Iran (Ladjevardian 1999, Berkowitz 1996,

invaded their homeland. Iranians also remember that the British and Russian empires exploited them
economically, subjugated them politically, and invaded and occupied their country in two World Wars
(Ramazani 2009). Through this all, Iran s geographical area and its people identity have remained
more or less the same. The vast land three times the size of France and twenty times that of the Czech
Republic is demarcated to the North by the Caspian Sea (740 km of coastline) and to the South by the
Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman (2,440 km of coastline). Three fifths of the country, especially the
central plateau, lacks the rainfall to sustain permanent agriculture. Farming is confined to rain fed
Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and the Caspian coast, to irrigated villages and oases scattered throughout the
county, especially at the foot of the mountain ranges (See Map 1 2) (Abrahamian 2008, p. 1). Iran is a
neighbour to seven countries (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, Armenia,
Azerbaijan), which makes it a natural crossroad of civilizations and trade flows. Its rich history shows
that for many centuries Iran has been a key land bridge between Europe and Asia through the

1) In general, what attributes make a company a good candidate for an IPO?
Good Business History and Background: Investors will forecast future earnings off of the historical
background of the company. It will also show that your company is stable. Many investors will be
looking to hold the stock long term, so if investors trust the background of the company, more people
will be willing to invest.

All initial public offerings are all cash offers, which entail securities being offered to the general
public at a cash price when the company decides to go public. All companies on the Toronto stock

permission from the bod in order to do an IPO. The firm must prepare and distribute copies of a red

They re a series of steps involved when issuing the initial public offering. The basic procedure in
Canada is as follows: 1. Management s first step before issuing securities to the public is to obtain
approval from the board of directors. This step requires a vote of the shareholder/shareholders. In this
initial phase, the company will create or update their business plan, select lawyers, auditors and
underwriters/agents. As well as review and strengthen internal systems, procedures, ensure that their
accounting policies and financial records are prepared for the required prospectus. This first phase is
crucial for the business to ensure that they are prepared to follow through with their IPO objectives. 2.

Marxism Crime Deviance
Crime and Deviance This essay will evaluate the Marxist theory that the ruling class in society decides
the law and enforces it, to reflect their own interests. Marxism is a political and social system based on
the ideas of Karl Marx (1818 83). Marxist criminology theories began in the 1970 s. According to
Marxists, society is controlled by the ruling capitalist class. They believe that in a capitalist society, a
small group of wealthy people (the bourgeoisie), own the means of production, such as; factories,
businesses, land, etc and that they exploit the working class people (the proletariat), so that they can
enjoy a huge profit and personal gain, either legally or illegally. Marxists believe that the ruling class

In their theories, Marxists say that certain types of crime are more likely to be punished compared to
others. Street crimes (brawls, binge drinking, theft, muggings, social unrest and disorder) are more
likely to be pursued than white collar crime (fraud, tax evasion, insider training and even gambling
and prostitution). This is because the capitalist governments who have run the country are sympathetic
to those who are of the same belief and class, but have just got carried away with their search for
wealth. In this society of greed, the working class have to turn to crime just to stay alive and to obtain
the materialistic goods or lifestyle, which is typical to a capitalistic state, and that general standard of
living and attitude to life, is enforced on them, when living in this type of society. Money and personal
gain, and the every man for himself attitude is what life is like in an unfair, and socially unequal way
of life under a capitalist government. In another example, in their search for high profits, employers
may not enforce health and safety regulations. For example, low paid, sometimes illegal immigrant
workers have been exploited in this manner in recent times, such as the Morecambe Bay incident in ...
Marxists would say that was as a typical example of exploitation by capitalist tendencies, although it

BIBLICAL VIEW OF SEXUALITY
The discussion on any issue related to sexuality has to begin from what the Bible teaches about
sexuality and marriage. The first account of creation as given in Genesis 1 affirms the equality of
sexes, since both were created in the image of God and both share the stewardship of the earth. The
second account of creation as given in Genesis 2 affirms the complementarity of the sexes which
constitutes the basis for heterosexual marriage. John Stott lists three fundamental truths that emerge
from the second account of creation. The first truth is man s need for companionship. God found that
it is not good for man to be alone (2:18). Being created in the image of God who is love, man has the
capacity and the need to love and to be loved. Here God declares that He will make a helper or
companion suitable for him . This companion was also designed to be his sexual partner with whom
he was to become one flesh and procreate children. Secondly, Genesis 2 reveals God s provision to
meet man s need. God parades before Adam all the beasts and the birds that he created. Having found
no suitable companion for man among them, God makes a woman out of man. This was a special
work of creation in which the sexes were differentiated. Out of the undifferentiated humanity of the

Abortion Policy in America
Abortion Policy in America Obama is a historic president for a variety of reasons, all of which have
nothing to do with his skin color. Many of the policies that the nation has undertaken or transformed
during his presidency have much to do with Obama s bravery and inherent sense of right and wrong
values which have continued to color his presidency. For example, in 2009 with President Obama on
Friday repealed the Mexico City policy, a controversial Reagan era measure that withheld funding to
foreign aid organizations that perform abortions or refer women to abortion providers, which had been
rescinded by President Clinton and re instituted by President Bush... The decision shows that Mr.
Obama will deliver on his campaign promises to be one of the most pro choice presidents in modern
history...Rachel Laser, with the progressive group Third Way, said Mr. Obama s decision was a life
affirming, common ground policy that must transcend abortion politics. (Ward, 2009). This legislative
move was not simply the right thing to do: it was a breath of fresh air. Abortion groups had long been
aware that it was next to impossible for them to push their legislative goals during the eight years that
President George W. Bush was in office. However, with greater amounts of Democrats in both
Congress and the White House, pro abortion groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro Choice
America are currently having a more promising time in making contact with lawmakers and being
heard. In

Beowulf Good Vs Evil
Beowulf Good vs. Evil
Throughout Beowulf, the concept of good vs. evil is not only expressed, but is capitalized on
continuously. Beowulf is the protagonist in the adventure and has a clearly defined counterpart:
Grendel; the evil entity. They are put against each other numerous times as a representation of how
there will be a never ending quarrel between good and evil. This can be compared to a specifically
recent event: the Las Vegas terror attack. Though this may only be one event, the threat of terror
attacks has been a constant concern; the Las Vegas, only being more severe and recent. This constant
tension between the terrorists and the people is just as that of Beowulf and Grendel: never ending. A
key point made in Beowulf is

Black Walnut Tree
The Black Walnut Tree
The relationship between the Tree and the family in the poem The Black Walnut Tree by Mary Oliver
is conveyed as harsh and difficult. If they choose to sell the tree then it s assured that the house will be
safe, however, they lose a part of their history. If they do not sell the tree, then they have a chance of
the tree destroying the house, but they are struggling to even pay the mortgage and cannot afford any
more expenses. By the selected spacing of the poem, figurative language, and lyric this relationship
dilemma is conveyed.
By the use of free verse, Oliver is able to space the poem to have greater effect on the reader as well as
to strengthen the meaning of the relationship and dilemma between the family and tree. For instance,
lines 9 to 11, each line is spaced so that is sticks in the mind. No information is lost, meaning, that it is
easier and more relative to see where the argument is going for the reader. Throughout, the poem there
are also sections such as lines 16 to19 that personally involves the reader, because it draws in on

tree is thus proved to be a character by lines 7 to 8, where it is able to destroy the house. There is also

language is lines 34 to 35 Whip crack . By doing so, mortgage is brought in once more as an even
crueler character. Mortgage on the house in this sense is the main cause of all their problems since
they are not able to provide barely enough money to pay each month. In the aspect of generational feel

How Social Exclusion Affects The Feeling Of Physical Coldness
Psychologists Chen Bo Zhong and Geoffrey Leonardelli from the University of Toronto wanted to
analyze the idea that social exclusion generates a physical response of coldness. In 2008, they did just
that by carrying out an experimental study to address two questions in two different experiments;
whether recall of a specific (social exclusion) event influences the feeling of physical coldness. The
second experiment is based on the hypothesis of the first, given that coldness leads to the liking for
warm or cold food. The present paper examines whether or not notions such as cold and lonely are
expressions that can be applied to reality and not just an abstract illustration. Empirical evidence is

The purpose was to revive their feelings of isolation and loneliness. Comparatively, the other group
recalled an experience in which they had been socially acknowledged and included into a group.
Researchers hypothesized that priming social exclusion, as opposed to inclusion, would lead
participants to report lower room temperature in experiment 1 and thus prefer hot food and drink in
Experiment 2. The results of the experiments were in line with the experimental predictions that social
exclusion leads to physical coldness and that the lack of social acceptance leads people to seek hot
food and drinks. The following paragraphs will analyze Zhong s research, evaluating strengths,
limitations, and possible improvements for Experiment 1 and 2.
Going through the methodology, the participants were students at the University of Toronto and were
asked to recall a social exclusion event. It is a between participants design, making it interesting to
analyze individual differences in recall and how cold they felt afterwards. However, this doesn t
equate for external validity, as it is very unclear by what event the participants referred to as social
exclusion. The researchers refer to previous studies carried out by Bargh, Chen, Burrows (1996) in the
introduction about the physical signs of social influence. This experiment however, is carried out in
Toronto; the

Data Mining Information
1 Define data mining. Why are there many different names and definitions for data mining?
Data mining is the process through which previously unknown patterns in data were discovered.
Another definition would be a process that uses statistical, mathematical, artificial intelligence, and
machine learning techniques to extract and identify useful information and subsequent knowledge
from large databases. This includes most types of automated data analysis. A third definition: Data
mining is the process of finding mathematical patterns from (usually) large sets of data; these can be
rules, affinities, correlations, trends, or prediction models.
Data mining has many definitions because it s been stretched beyond those limits by some ... Show

Whereas prediction is largely experience and opinion based, forecasting is data and model based. That
is, in order of increasing reliability, one might list the relevant terms as guessing, predicting, and
forecasting, respectively. In data mining terminology, prediction and forecasting are used
synonymously, and the term prediction is used as the common representation of the act.
Classification: analyzing the historical behavior of groups of entities with similar characteristics, to
predict the future behavior of a new entity from its similarity to those groups
Clustering: finding groups of entities with similar characteristics
Association: establishing relationships among items that occur together
Sequence discovery: finding time based associations
Visualization: presenting results obtained through one or more of the other methods
Regression: a statistical estimation technique based on fitting a curve defined by a mathematical
equation of known type but unknown parameters to existing data
Forecasting: estimating a future data value based on past data values.

Is there a theoretical foundation for it? In general, differentiation in hurdle rates between projects with
different types of risks is preferable. If all projects with different types of risk will have the same
hurdle rates, managers would probably choose the most risky project, due to higher expected returns.
This in turn would also drive the divisional beta up. Therefore, it seems to be justified to make a
distinction in hurdle rates depending on the level of risk involved. That means that managers also take
projects with lower risk into consideration. However, it cannot be said with certainty if the adjustment
factors need to be exactly 0.9 or 1.2. Nevertheless, the spread between the adjustment factors should
not be too wide, in order not to neglect profitable projects or accept unprofitable ones. Question 4:
Ceramic Coatings division returns exceed the risk adjusted hurdle rate, which means that the growth
rate exceeds the corporate average. What effect does this have on the corporate beta and the overall
costs of capital? In order to answer the question a numerical example will be provided. In table 2 the
original data are reproduced (Ceramic Coatings product of percentage of corporate assets times
estimated divisional beta = 0,10 * 0,95 = 0,095 = this reduces weighted average corporate beta to

The systems updates would not be limited to SAP. The other systems involved are salesforce.com, the
legacy transaction billing system, the legacy customer statement portal, and a new add on system. The
primary areas of SAP impact are master data (customer, material, pricing), sales and distribution
(order and contract), and finance (revenue recognition). The impacted functional areas in the
Company are sales, accounting, customer care, system operations, and engineering.
Scope, Budget, Timeline and Resources The objective of the project is to deliver an improved solution
within the current environment. To include enhanced functionality for the business including a robust
revenue recognition module, enhanced contract features, and a well developed interface process
between Non SAP systems and SAP. Delivering an enhanced and integrated process to improve
accuracy and user experience between all systems. Allowing for the business to expand its business
within a controlled and accurate process (Datta, 2009). The project will kick off with a discovery

Tetralogy of Fallow is a surgically, treatable disease characterized by all or a combination of at least
four congenital birth defects. It accounts for 10% of all congenital heart defects that modify the
formation of the heart. It also alters the way blood flows through the heart. Tetralogy of Fallow is
usually diagnosed at birth or infancy and with surgery a child can live a relatively normal life. The
prefix tetra means four and the term fallot is named after a French doctor who first discovered the
disease in the 1800 s. Appropriately named after the discovery, Tetralogy of Fallow came about
because of the four heart defects observed. One major complication that manifest from Tetralogy of

This obstruction causes a decrease in oxygen perfusion to the lungs also resulting in cyanosis.
Newborns with severe narrowing are cyanotic. A characteristic murmur is usually always present.
Severe pulmonary stenosis causes heart failure. The third defect is Right Ventricular Hypertrophy,
which causes a thicker than normal right ventricle. Right ventricular hypertrophy occurs because the
heart pumping action becomes harder creating an increase in the hearts work load. Subsequently, this
causes a thicker and more muscular heart muscle. This defect causes also causes a reduction in oxygen
flowing to the body. The left side of the heart may be underdeveloped from increased work load on the
right side of the heart. The fourth and last defect involves an overriding aorta. According to the
American Heart Association, this occurs when the artery that carries oxygenated blood is displaced
and arises above both ventricles. Therefore, oxygen poor blood flows straight into the aorta (Jacobs
9/2012). The major complication with an overriding aorta as it relates to Tetralogy of Fallow is a
deficit in blood flow makes it difficult for oxygenated blood to reach the lungs to gain oxygen for the
body tissues. The normal flow of blood through the heart is disrupted. Even though, Tetralogy of

The Creature In The Lagoon
The Creature in the Lagoon
If only Jacqueline and I had listened to our parents and not ventured into the lagoon, Elaine thought.
Elaine and Jacqueline were growing up in a condominium facing Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto
on Queen s Quay Boulevard. Their parents, Dennis and Roberta, were both lawyers. Elaine was
fourteen and Jacqueline was sixteen. The lagoon in question was located at Hanlon s Point, next to the
Toronto Islands.
Dennis and Roberta had always warned Elaine and Jacqueline to stay away from the lagoon.
The lagoon is not safe, Dennis cautioned. It is private property, owned by the Harbour Commission.
Why? asked Elaine.
Because the lagoon contains an amphibious creature, Roberta answered. It is built like a man, but it
looks like a fish. It stands upright with what looks like legs, but it is scaly and has sharp teeth like a
shark and claws instead of hands.
The parents warnings seemed silly to Elaine and Jacqueline. Both girls thought it would be fun to
explore the lagoon.
One day, Elaine and Jacqueline were watching on television an old movie called The Lagoon
Creature. The so called creature, the mysterious man fish, was half amphibious, half human, and
resembled the creature their mother had told them about. Elaine was squirming with fear, although
Jacqueline was laughing.
Do you actually believe in these creatures? Elaine asked Jacqueline.
No, I don t, Jacqueline answered. The story on TV is made up, just like our parents keep telling us
there is a man built like a fish in the lagoon. Our friends from school walk around the lagoon all the
time. I have never heard stories from them about an amphibious creature. They would laugh at this
story.
The next day, it just so happened that Dennis and Roberta were relaxing around the condominium s
swimming pool. Elaine and Jacqueline decided to go down to Eaton s Centre, but as they left their
condominium building to get the Harbourfront bus to Union Station, they decided to take the bus in
the opposite direction to the lagoon, which was located near the Toronto Islands.
No sooner had the girls reached the lagoon than they saw something enormous splashing in it.
Puzzled, they watched the water bubbles and the swirling water. There

The Metabolic Rate Of Goldfish
Introduction
To determine the metabolic rate of a goldfish two different methods can be applied, direct or indirect
calorimetry. Direct calorimetry analyzes the exothermic reaction when ATP is produced by measuring
the amount of heat that is released. Meanwhile, indirect calorimetry measures the amount of carbon
dioxide or oxygen because both are components of aerobic respiration, a process which repeatedly
supplies more ATP to match the demands of metabolic rate of an organism. Evidently, metabolic rate
is the cumulative sum of energy used by all the cells. Most of this energy comes from regulating
homeostasis, locomotion and thermoregulation. On the other hand, ectotherms like goldfish have a
slight difference in their metabolic rates because their internal temperature directly correlates with the
temperature of their environment. For this reason, ectotherms use less energy because they do not
need to worry about thermoregulation, maintaining constant body temperature. However, temperature,
size, amount of light and stimulus are factors that can affect metabolism of goldfish. Thus, this
experiment will measure the metabolic rate of goldfish through in direct calorimetry. Furthermore, the
amount of oxygen in the chamber reveals the amount of cellular respiration of the organism. While
also, test the effects of decreasing oxygen, and later increasing the heat on the metabolic rate of
goldfish. I hypothesize that an increase in temperature will increase their metabolic rate

Benefits Of Adopting Electronic Health Records
Good Afternoon ladies and gentleman! I appreciate not only your time but your commitment to the
implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR). As a recap from our last meeting, hard and soft
ROI represents various benefits which can be included and used in an ROI analysis. The hard benefits
are the direct benefits which are tied to the impact of implementing the proposed solution. Soft
benefits on the other hand are less easy to quantify and rely on. Soft benefits are often referred to as
indirect, because they rely on a number of steps in order for the benefit to be realized. Today we will
focus on the soft benefits of adopting Electronic Health Records. In addition to the costs directly
associated with the EHR, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soft ROI isn t always easy to quantify and doesn t always include hard statistical data, but this doesn t
reduce the value of soft ROI. Actually soft return factors can play a key role in improving the health
facility over the long term. The clinical data alone that comes through EHR can play an important role
in transforming the process of an organization. A study was recently completed and published in
HealthAffairs, according to this study; health care practices were able to cover the cost of the EHR in
approximately 2.5 years and then received an average of approximately $23,000 per year per full time
employee in net benefits. This study also notes that much of the ROI consisted of efficiency gains and
increases in revenue. The increases in revenue arose primarily from more accurate higher level coding,
but some providers also were able to see additional patients due to time saved from using an EHR
(Miller, West, Brown, Sim, Ganchoff, 2015) EHR systems have the potential to change the health care
system from a mostly paper based industry to one that utilizes clinical and other pieces of information
to assist providers in delivering higher quality of care to their patients. The Health Information
Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009, which is part of the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law with an explicit purpose of
incentivizing providers to adopt EHR systems. The incentives

Gender Inequality And The Aristotelian Society
Gender Inequality in an Aristotelian Polity Aristotle s philosophies were deeply influenced by his
upbringing and interest in biology. He believed that the reason of a thing lies in its function.
Everything that exists has a purpose, and that purpose is the reason that thing is the way it is. For
example, all the substances that make up a seed are there because the way those particular substances
interact with each other causes that seed to grow. When the seed grows, it reaches its full potential as a
plant. Humans are the same. Human beings have a potential to live up to, which is finding true
happiness by living an honorable life. One lives an honorable life by complying with societal
standards, which are built through community based on three levels of organization. The first of these
is the household, which is designed to manage the necessities of individual existence, such as
procreation, sleep, nourishment, and shelter (pg. 35). The second is the village, which in simple terms
is the market place of society, where people buy and sell goods and services. The last of the levels is
the polis, the political community in charge of making collective decisions in the public s best interest.
Each of these levels performs an essential, inescapable function in any society (pg. 35) Species
survival is crucial to any society, and is covered under the household level of government. But
because species survival is so important, those who are capable of bearing children will be

Essay on Neanderthals and Homo sapiens
There is evidence to suggest that Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens had coexisted for
approximately 35 40,000 years, (Fagan 2010) from around 60,000 years ago to 25,000 years ago when
they finally went extinct (Gibbon 2001). Anthropologists are still uncertain what the cause of their
extinction was. This paper will analyze three main theories of Neanderthal extinction. The first theory
is the competition theory, which claims that the Homo sapiens and Neanderthals had to compete for
resources, ultimately leading to their demise. The second theory I will discuss is the climate change
theory, which claims that Homo sapiens lived while Neanderthals died because they were better
adapted to the climate. The last theory I will discuss is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon investigating the bones Schmerling did not recognize them as a distinct species (Sawyer et al.
2007).The first true Neanderthal was discovered in the Neander Valley, near Dusseldorf in 1856 by a
group of miners who were blasting out a cave in the area. When the crew uncovered archaic bones
they contacted a local schoolteacher, Johann Karl Fuhlrott. Fuhlrott was the first to recognize the
fossils as a new species. In 1864, William King in the Quarterly Journal of Science identified this new
species as Homo neanderthalensis after the location of its unearthing (Sawyer et al. 2007).
Dietary Differences
The diets of Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens are very different. The diet of the Homo
sapiens shows how they were learning to adapt better to their environment, while the Neanderthals
were very set in how they gathered food. Studies of nitrogen preserved in the bones of Neanderthals
have shown that they consumed a substantial quantity of meat; comparable to that eaten by
contemporary wolves (Delson et. al 2006). The current interpretation of the Neanderthal diet is that
they were most likely hunters rather than scavengers (Delson et. al 2006). It was once thought that the
Neanderthal diet was comprised mainly of meat due plant life being seasonal in the cold climate they
inhabited. Evidence suggests however that the Middle East Neanderthals ... living in the relatively
warmest climate consume mostly meat (Sawyer et al. 2007) proving that

This study will focus on validation and internal consistency through the use of Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Chronbach s Alpha (CA). This study will not be testing for reliability. In order to test for test retest reliability, two assumptions are required. The first is that the characteristic being measured, in this case readiness to collaborate does not change over the time period, which, for respondents taking the survey, it may, due to entering into a team prior to the next test. Essay On Nanoparticles In recent years, inorganic and chemosynthesized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SIONPs) such as Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4 MgNPs) have attracted extensive interest for their biocompatible (Kunzmann et al., 2011) and low toxic properties mainly in the human body studied (Jeng and Swanson, 2006; Karlsson et al., 2009) which make them as promising remedial tools in related fields. Magnetite nanoparticles is the most studied for many technological applications in biomedicine, such as high sensitivity biomolecular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (Bulte et al., 2001), in vivo targeted drug delivery (Sunderland et al., 2006), hyperthermic agents and enhancer in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer (Gupta and Gupta, 2005; ... Whereas, marine macroalgae have richness in minerals (Wells et al., 2017) that can be used for the greener route synthesis of Fe3O4 MgNPs, and as bionanofactories materials (LewisOscar et al., 2016) have the ability to accumulate metals and reduces ions, and could be the superior contender for biosynthesis of metallic NPs (Davis et al., 1998). However, the synthesis of stable Fe3O4 MgNPs using algae extracts are very complicated due to the high reactivity, high particle instability, great propensity of iron ions to oxidization and reduced with a wide array of various chemical compounds, and high tendency to aggregate into agglomerates within the solution (EL Kassas et al., 2016; Makarov et al., 2014; Huang et al., 2007). As we grow up we question a lot of the things that we are taught, like how is it going to help us in the future. For me it was treating others the way you want to be treated. To me I thought that we should treat others the way they treat us. My family tried to show me that that wasn t the answer and that nothing is going to work if you don t know how to move on from what they have done for you. Today I m in highschool and I can tell you that treating others the way you want to be treated rather than treating them like they treated you is very important. • 9. Brave New World And Brave New World The 1920 s and the 1930 s brought about many changes in the world such as financial fluctuations and advancements in technology. The novel Brave New World , by Aldous Huxley, and the short story There Will Come Soft Rains , by Ray Bradbury, gives an excellent presentation of futuristic elements and how world climate at the time affected how the author perceived the future. Both of these stories paint a picture of a world where technology has advanced to the point that it has negatively affected mankind. Using new historicism, this paper will explore the different ideas and thoughts of the authors and how they got influenced by the historical events happening in their time as well as the developing technologies. This paper will also explore how the two stories, even though written on different decades, are very similar in nature through their views, themes, and the ultimate effect on society. Huxley writes the novel Brave New World in 1931 around the time technology rapidly replaced workers jobs and made unemployment rates increase. This caused many people to take any job they could get such as factory work. In the novel, Aldous Huxley describes a future world where every single person is working in a factory and doesn t have a say rather or not they want to work there. The novel shows Huxley sees the future as alienated and ruled by a God who controls every aspect of people s lives. Generic Biologics As A Tool For Evaluating The Safety And... 1.Background/Statement Of Problem: Generic biologics (otherwise referred to as biosimilars or follow on biologics), are described by the FDA as biological products that are highly similar to already approved biological products, notwithstanding minor differences in clinically interactive components and for which there are no clinically meaningful differences between the biosimilar and the approved biological products in terms of safety, purity and potency [4]. Biosimilars are copies of approved biologics, whose patent protection has ended and are analogous to a generic version of a chemically derived drug. Generic biologics are however more complicated to develop than a generic version of a chemically derived drug owing to their complex structure and inherent variability [3]. The assessment of bioequivalence as a tool for evaluating the safety and efficacy is based on the fundamental Bioequivalence Assumption that if two drug products are shown to be bioequivalent in average bioavailability, it is assumed they will reach the same therapeutic effect and be used interchangeably [1]. However, characterizing generic versions of small molecules drugs is considerably easier than characterizing biologic drugs due to several key characteristics [3], based on the fact that characteristics of biologics are influenced by: choice of source materials (cell line), production process, purification process and the final pharmaceutical formulation. Boone discuss the poor policy decisions at the governmental level and the challenges facing uncompetitive local firms. The article explains how managers rely on common leadership approaches that work well in one set of circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex environment of the current business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their instincts. They will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to the wisdom of the group and when to take their own counsel. A deep understanding of context, the ability to embrace complexity and paradox, and a willingness to flexibly change leadership style will be required for leaders who want to make things happen in a time of increasing uncertainty (Snowden Boone, 2007). Additionally, Ehhas been shown to decrease even further when soils are flooded with increased salinity levels (Baldwin and Mendelssohn, 1998; Flynn et al., 1995). Under these conditions, the soil medium becomes highly reducing and can affect wetland vegetation in two ways. First, and probably most significant, is the reduction of sulfate (present in seawater) to hydrogen sulfide, a known phytotoxin that has been shown to reduce wetland vegetation growth and/or survival at higher concentrations (Flynn et al., 1995). Secondly, highly reducing conditions can interfere with a plant s ability to uptake nitrogen by altering its form and availability in the soil (Webb et al., 1995). Other problems created by high salinity soil conditions include the change in water potential necessary for the plant to overcome the elevated salt concentration in the soil, and the possibility of toxicity due to uptake of Na+ and Cl ions (Flynn et al., 1995). Physiological Responses of Wetland Plants due to Increased Flooding and Salinity Although tolerance to increased flooding and salinity conditions varies somewhat by species, wetland species that survive these heightened conditions demonstrate either some or all of the following characteristics: lowered photosynthetic activity, ... In the 1800s, the scarlet fever was basically known as a death sentence. ¨One of the most dreaded diseases of childhood¨. This disease is so severe that it causes death in a short amount of time or gives rise to even more severe complications. In the seventeenth century, this disease was separated from other infections, especially the measles, but remained for the nineteenth century. The fatality of this disease depends upon the virulence of the Scarlet Fever organism. Death from the Scarlet Fever varies from one to fifteen percent. This deadly diseases is definitely not something that people took lightly, that is rather a good thing though. The cause of the scarlet fever is actually rather complicated. When you initially look at these three categories they may not seem to have too much in common. However, when you look deeper you will see that in fact, they are all different types of logical fallacies. Logical fallacies are errors of reasoning, errors that may be recognized and corrected by prudent thinkers (Downes, 1995). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Small samples will tend to be unrepresentative. The general idea is that small samples are less likely to contain numbers proportional to the whole population. Since Hasty Generalization is committed when the sample is too small, it is important to have samples that are large enough when making a generalization. The most reliable way to do this is to take as large a sample as is practical. If the population in question were not very diverse then a very small sample would suffice. If the population were very diverse then a fairly large sample would be needed. The size of the sample also depends on the size of the population. A Hasty Generalization, like any fallacy, might have a true conclusion. However, as long as the reasoning is fallacious there is no reason to accept the conclusion based on that People often commit Hasty Generalizations because of bias or prejudice. People also commonly commit Hasty Generalizations because of laziness or sloppiness. It is very easy to simply leap to a conclusion and much harder to gather an adequate sample and draw a justified conclusion. Therefore, avoiding this fallacy requires minimizing the influence of bias and taking care to select a sample that is large enough. A great example of this fallacy that everyone has probably experienced is when a teenager is talking to their parent and says, But why can t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the membership function covers poles values from 0 to 4 then the maximum value for pole is 4 and the least value is 0 and same thing happens for the constants. Each unit reduces an order of two to order of one. If a transfer function of higher order is needed to be reduced the operation is repeated several times. For example an order 8 to 2 function reduction will reduce the 8 poles into 4 poles then the 4 new poles into the final 2 poles. E. Particle Swarm Technique Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is initialized with a group of random particles (solutions) and then searches for optima by updating generations. In every iteration, each particle is updated by following two best values. The first one is the best solution (fitness) each particle has achieved so far, this value is called Pbest. Another best value that is tracked by the particle swarm optimizer is the best value, obtained so far by any particle in the population. This best value is a global best and called Gbest. Each particle consists of: Data representing a possible solution, a velocity value indicating how much the Data can be changed, a personal best (Pbest) value indicating the closest the particle s Data has ever come to the Target. The reader is intended to use the narrator Dowell s disconnected and inaccurate impressions to build a more complete version of who the characters are, as well as form a more accurate view of what actually happens with the sad affair (Ford 9) of Dowell s pathetic life. This use of a single character s various perceptions creates a work that follows the style of literary impressionism, which, to some extent, should be only a series of personal impressions that culminates in the portrayal of reality as a subjective experience (van Gunsteren 239). For the most part, Florence even inspires some degree of pity in him, and she often becomes poor dear Florence (12) in his mind. That he is capable of pity for such a manipulative person is only explained by his oblivious nature. This particular version of Florence shows the full extent of his lack of understanding as he attempts to explain things to himself. It also shows the degree of his gullibility. Dowell also describes Florence as weak and simple minded, saying that she was bright and she danced (17). This portrays Florence as an essentially superficial person. However, this superficiality does not really say anything directly about Florence, but illustrates what Thomas C. Moser phrases as Dowell s conviction of the meaninglessness of existence (Moser 354). This is because the capitalist governments who have run the country are sympathetic to those who are of the same belief and class, but have just got carried away with their search for wealth. BIBLICAL VIEW OF SEXUALITY The discussion on any issue related to sexuality has to begin from what the Bible teaches about sexuality and marriage. The first account of creation as given in Genesis 1 affirms the equality of sexes, since both were created in the image of God and both share the stewardship of the earth. The second account of creation as given in Genesis 2 affirms the complementarity of the sexes which constitutes the basis for heterosexual marriage. John Stott lists three fundamental truths that emerge from the second account of creation. The first truth is man s need for companionship. God found that it is not good for man to be alone (2:18). Being created in the image of God who is love, man has the capacity and the need to love and to be loved. Here God declares that He will make a helper or companion suitable for him . This companion was also designed to be his sexual partner with whom he was to become one flesh and procreate children. Secondly, Genesis 2 reveals God s provision to meet man s need. God parades before Adam all the beasts and the birds that he created. Having found no suitable companion for man among them, God makes a woman out of man. This was a special work of creation in which the sexes were differentiated. Out of the undifferentiated humanity of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many of the policies that the nation has undertaken or transformed during his presidency have much to do with Obama s bravery and inherent sense of right and wrong values which have continued to color his presidency. For example, in 2009 with President Obama on Friday repealed the Mexico City policy, a controversial Reagan era measure that withheld funding to foreign aid organizations that perform abortions or refer women to abortion providers, which had been rescinded by President Clinton and re instituted by President Bush... (Ward, 2009). This legislative move was not simply the right thing to do: it was a breath of fresh air. Abortion groups had long been aware that it was next to impossible for them to push their legislative goals during the eight years that President George W. Bush was in office. Beowulf is the protagonist in the adventure and has a clearly defined counterpart: Grendel; the evil entity. This can be compared to a specifically recent event: the Las Vegas terror attack. If they choose to sell the tree then it s assured that the house will be safe, however, they lose a part of their history. If they do not sell the tree, then they have a chance of the tree destroying the house, but they are struggling to even pay the mortgage and cannot afford any more expenses. By the selected spacing of the poem, figurative language, and lyric this relationship dilemma is conveyed. By the use of free verse, Oliver is able to space the poem to have greater effect on the reader as well as to strengthen the meaning of the relationship and dilemma between the family and tree. For instance, lines 9 to 11, each line is spaced so that is sticks in the mind. No information is lost, meaning, that it is easier and more relative to see where the argument is going for the reader. How Social Exclusion Affects The Feeling Of Physical Coldness Psychologists Chen Bo Zhong and Geoffrey Leonardelli from the University of Toronto wanted to analyze the idea that social exclusion generates a physical response of coldness. In 2008, they did just that by carrying out an experimental study to address two questions in two different experiments; whether recall of a specific (social exclusion) event influences the feeling of physical coldness. The second experiment is based on the hypothesis of the first, given that coldness leads to the liking for warm or cold food. The results of the experiments were in line with the experimental predictions that social exclusion leads to physical coldness and that the lack of social acceptance leads people to seek hot food and drinks. Question 1: Estimate the divisional hurdle rates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is there a theoretical foundation for it? In general, differentiation in hurdle rates between projects with different types of risks is preferable. If all projects with different types of risk will have the same hurdle rates, managers would probably choose the most risky project, due to higher expected returns. This in turn would also drive the divisional beta up. Therefore, it seems to be justified to make a distinction in hurdle rates depending on the level of risk involved. That means that managers also take projects with lower risk into consideration. However, it cannot be said with certainty if the adjustment factors need to be exactly 0.9 or 1.2. Nevertheless, the spread between the adjustment factors should not be too wide, in order not to neglect profitable projects or accept unprofitable ones. Question 4: Ceramic Coatings division returns exceed the risk adjusted hurdle rate, which means that the growth rate exceeds the corporate average. What effect does this have on the corporate beta and the overall costs of capital? In order to answer the question a numerical example will be provided. In table 2 the original data are reproduced (Ceramic Coatings product of percentage of corporate assets times estimated divisional beta = 0,10 * 0,95 = 0,095 = this reduces weighted average corporate beta to 0,795). |Division ... Tetralogy of Fallow is usually diagnosed at birth or infancy and with surgery a child can live a relatively normal life. The prefix tetra means four and the term fallot is named after a French doctor who first discovered the disease in the 1800 s. Right ventricular hypertrophy occurs because the heart pumping action becomes harder creating an increase in the hearts work load. Subsequently, this causes a thicker and more muscular heart muscle. This defect causes also causes a reduction in oxygen flowing to the body. The left side of the heart may be underdeveloped from increased work load on the right side of the heart. The fourth and last defect involves an overriding aorta. According to the American Heart Association, this occurs when the artery that carries oxygenated blood is displaced and arises above both ventricles. Elaine and Jacqueline were growing up in a condominium facing Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto on Queen s Quay Boulevard. Their parents, Dennis and Roberta, were both lawyers. Elaine was fourteen and Jacqueline was sixteen. The lagoon in question was located at Hanlon s Point, next to the Toronto Islands. It is built like a man, but it looks like a fish. It stands upright with what looks like legs, but it is scaly and has sharp teeth like a shark and claws instead of hands. The parents warnings seemed silly to Elaine and Jacqueline. Both girls thought it would be fun to explore the lagoon. One day, Elaine and Jacqueline were watching on television an old movie called The Lagoon Creature. The so called creature, the mysterious man fish, was half amphibious, half human, and resembled the creature their mother had told them about. Elaine was squirming with fear, although Jacqueline was laughing. Do you actually believe in these creatures? Elaine asked Jacqueline. No, I don t, Jacqueline answered. • 37. The Metabolic Rate Of Goldfish Introduction To determine the metabolic rate of a goldfish two different methods can be applied, direct or indirect calorimetry. Direct calorimetry analyzes the exothermic reaction when ATP is produced by measuring the amount of heat that is released. Meanwhile, indirect calorimetry measures the amount of carbon dioxide or oxygen because both are components of aerobic respiration, a process which repeatedly supplies more ATP to match the demands of metabolic rate of an organism. Evidently, metabolic rate is the cumulative sum of energy used by all the cells. Most of this energy comes from regulating homeostasis, locomotion and thermoregulation. On the other hand, ectotherms like goldfish have a slight difference in their metabolic rates because their internal temperature directly correlates with the temperature of their environment. For this reason, ectotherms use less energy because they do not need to worry about thermoregulation, maintaining constant body temperature. However, temperature, size, amount of light and stimulus are factors that can affect metabolism of goldfish. Thus, this experiment will measure the metabolic rate of goldfish through in direct calorimetry. Furthermore, the amount of oxygen in the chamber reveals the amount of cellular respiration of the organism. While also, test the effects of decreasing oxygen, and later increasing the heat on the metabolic rate of goldfish. A study was recently completed and published in HealthAffairs, according to this study; health care practices were able to cover the cost of the EHR in approximately 2.5 years and then received an average of approximately $23,000 per year per full time employee in net benefits. This study also notes that much of the ROI consisted of efficiency gains and increases in revenue. The increases in revenue arose primarily from more accurate higher level coding, but some providers also were able to see additional patients due to time saved from using an EHR (Miller, West, Brown, Sim, Ganchoff, 2015) EHR systems have the potential to change the health care system from a mostly paper based industry to one that utilizes clinical and other pieces of information to assist providers in delivering higher quality of care to their patients.
