Inserting Page Numbers
in Microsoft Word
1. Insert menu -> Page number -> Top of page -> Plain number 3
2. Type your LAST name in front of the number.
3. Insert a space between your name and number.
4. Change the font-type to Times New Roman 12-point.
5. Exit header menu.
6. All of your pages are now numbered with your last name and a
page number.
Hanging Indents for Works Cited
1. Place the cursor at the bottom of the last page of your paper.
2. Insert menu -> Page break
3. Copy and paste your Works Cited onto the new page.
4. Remove extra empty lines between citations.
5. Double-space all citations so that they are evenly spaced.
6. Select all of the text on your Works Cited page.
7. View menu -> Ruler
8. Click the bottom triangle and square and drag to the right ½ inch.
9. Add Works Cited to the top of the page. Center this.
