My Antonia Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "My Antonia" can pose a unique set of challenges. First and
foremost, familiarity with the novel is crucial. Understanding the intricacies of the characters,
plot, and themes is essential to craft a thoughtful and insightful essay. It requires a thorough
reading of the text, often multiple times, to grasp the nuances that might be easily overlooked.
Analyzing the characters and their development throughout the narrative is another complex
aspect. Delving into the motivations, relationships, and conflicts demands a keen eye for detail.
Connecting these character dynamics to broader themes and the novel's central messages adds
an additional layer of complexity to the writing process.
Moreover, crafting a coherent and compelling thesis statement is pivotal. The essay needs a clear
argument or interpretation that ties together the various elements of the novel. Developing a
thesis that goes beyond mere summarization and engages with the deeper layers of the text is a
challenging intellectual exercise.
Additionally, integrating relevant literary criticism and secondary sources to support the
arguments requires extensive research. This step demands a strong understanding of literary
analysis and the ability to synthesize information from various scholarly perspectives.
The challenge further intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between personal
interpretation and adhering to academic conventions. Maintaining a formal tone, proper citation,
and meeting specific essay requirements can be daunting, especially for those new to academic
writing.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "My Antonia" demands a combination of literary insight,
analytical skills, and the ability to navigate the conventions of academic writing. However, for
those seeking assistance, various resources, including professional writing services, are available
to provide support and guidance in tackling the complexities of such literary analyses. Similar

Shang Dynasty Essay
By 1100 BCE, the trend of oracle bone inscriptions the size Shang had shrunk
considerably due to intrusions by people north and west. They were meant to
suggest an increased concentration of power in the hands of the last Shang king,
despite being depicted in literary records as coinciding with their dissolution.
Consequently, the state of Zhou to the west, a Shang dependency, began to take
military action against them. In the Shujing compiled by Confucius narrates of the
Zhou kings Wen, Wu, Cheng and Duke Dan when they systematically pushed their
influence of territories eastwards from 1122 BCE onwards and took much of Shang
territory under their control. As a result of what was to come 78 years later, Zhou
forces captured and burned the last Shang stronghold at Anyang as a moral
justification against a long reign of corruption. Conquest by one of the 3 dynasties
did not mean exile, extinction, or enslavement for those defeated. Rather the
conquerors were depicted as presenting their victories as acts of renewal for those
they subdued by ridding them of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being an era of disunity ,it produced a time of intense warfare as the inner state
system created around the Zhou dynasty long broke down. The most powerful of
the states engaged in wars that created countries of a new kind of maximum
military benefit. With militarization came a number of military innovations which
laid waste to cities and whole states. With that came the most reputed military
strategist of the day, Sun Tsu, whose philosophies of duplicity, combative tactics,
and loyalty to the elites were elaborated in the Art of War. By its close, Zhou had
been dissolved by their combatants and Qin would emerge as the creator of a newly
unified empire in 221 BCE (for only 15 years) with the execution of the Duke of
Misconception About Africa
If a country had been living on its own for hundreds of years without any help and is
not seeking assistance, then there is no sensible explanation as to why another
country would get involved. While many people believe Africa is a whole continent
in need of foreign aid, this misapprehension could not be farther from the truth.
Before any type of outside involvement, most Africans were educated and civilized.
While it is a widespread misconception that Africa is the heart of darkness, in reality,
it is a place full of sophisticated people living just like the rest of the world. It is true
that during the late 1800 s many countries in Africa were not as developed as many
places in Europe, however as Chinua Achebe states, Africa is ...vaguely... Show more

When European countries got involved, they took advantage of the people because
of the stereotypes already in their heads. The way newcomers treated the native
Africans was so appalling that one could say the natives were [a]gainst the deceit,
fraud, robberies, arson, murder, slave raiding, and general policy of cruelty.
(Williams, 1890). The abuse of the African peoplebecame so out of hand that they
were not seen as people anymore but rather as property. Keep in mind that these
countries were getting involved to help and save Africa. Even the purest of people
became so used to the notion that Africans were not equal to them that [t]he lust for
slave profits engulfed even some of the priest, who abandoned their preaching...
(Hochschild, 1998). Without these foreign countries, Africans would continue to live
the way they are accustomed. Most African countries have very strong, implicit

Counting On Jinger Duggar s Wedding
Everyone is really excited to hear about Jinger Duggar and her upcoming wedding.
The star of Counting On isn t married yet, but she is already engaged and of course,
planning her wedding. Jinger has made it very clear that she doesn t plan on
having a long engagement. Now The Stir is sharing some of the details of Jinger
Duggar s upcoming wedding. Of course, everyone knows that Counting On will be
recording Jinger s wedding for viewers to get to see it all go down. She is the 4th of
the Duggar children to get married and with 19 kids they should be having at least
one wedding a year if not more.
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo just announced last month that they were engaged
and the big moment hasn t even aired on Counting On yet. It turns out that instead of
having a local wedding, Jinger Duggar might get married in New York City. Jeremy s
family is from New Jersey, which would mean it would be close to his family.
Jinger s family would be able to make the trip there to see the wedding. One thing a
source says is that the couple is stressed out about the idea of uninvited guests
showing up. It doesn t seem like Jinger and Jeremy will be telling anyone where the
wedding is at so people don t just show up. There is no word if they are worried
about fans showing up or someone that they know that Jeremy and Jinger just don t
want there. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Knee Joint Case
The knee joint consists of three articulations: in the front is paltellofemoral
articulation and other two articulations are between condyles of femur and tibia 1,3.
When the knee is in full extension, rotation is impossible because the ligaments are
tight. They will relax when the knee is flexed over 20 degrees and it will allow
rotation 1,3.
The main elements for knee stability are tendons and ligaments. Fibrous connective
tissue forms a knee capsule, which is padded by a synovial membrane. Suprapatellar
bursa is extended if a joint effusion is formed 3.
The borders of popliteal fossa are biceps femoris muscle on the lateral side,
semimembranosus muscle and semitendinosus muscle on the medial side ,
gastrocnemius muscle on the lower part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three main stability tests for anterior cruciate ligament are Lachman test, anterior
drawer test and pivotal shift1,3.
Lachman test is the most sensitive test. To perform Lachman test knee must be
flexed 15 30 degrees and after that the lower leg should be pulled forward while the
femur is held in position. The test is positive if there is displacement over 5 mm
when we compare it to the other knee or when there is no strong end point1,3.
The anterior drawer test is not that reliable for injury of anterior cruciate ligament.
The hip should be held at 45 degrees flexion, and knee in 90 degrees flexion. The
foot should be pressed to the examination table and upper part of tibia should be
pulled forward. This movement should be carried out first with the knee in neutral
position and after that with the knee in external and internal rotation. If there is an
increased looseness of the knee in neutral position the ACL is probably injured.
Posteromedial capsule is likely to be injured if there is increased dislocation with
external rotation and posterolateral capsule if there is increased dislocation with

Essay Marijuana for Medical Use
Marijuana for Medical Use
For many years the United States government has prohibited some drugs, such as
marijuana, from being sold in the marketplace. Yet, even with prohibition, marijuana
use has only decreased minimally. Because of its illegality, only the bad aspects of
marijuana use have been made known. However, there are many positive aspects of
marijuana legalization, including its application concerning medical cures.
As of today, in most of the states, marijuana is classified as an illegal drug.
However, due to its proven medicinal purposes, the drug should be made available
for sick people to use. Marijuana has been used for multiple purposes prior to the
birth of Christ. Marijuana originated in the Middle East. ... Show more content on

Marijuana smoke is a complex mixture that has many chemical components and
biological effects similar to tobacco smoke. However, it also contains some different
ingredients. This suggests the strong possibility that marijuana, like tobacco, could
lead to lung cancer, or create respiratory distress. ?Smoking marijuana also causes
changes in the heart and circulation that are characteristic of stress? states Morgan
(5). Current evidence has shown marijuana also causes some chemical changes in
the brain. After exposure to this drug, there have been reports of effects on brain
electrical activity in human beings and in animals. Marijuana also has been found to
produce an acute brain syndrome. ?This is a more severe mental problem consisting
of confusion and loss of contact with reality? stated Berger (8). The main reason that
the United States Drug Enforcement Agency doesn t want marijuana use to be
legalized is because there is no evidence to date that proves that marijuana is an
effective drug when used for medicinal purposes. Scientists have researched this drug
for twenty years and have yet to produce reliable scientific proof that marijuana has
medical value. New findings show that marijuana is acutely harmful to AIDS and
cancer patients because the active ingredient in marijuana acutely reduces the white
blood cells that fight off infection. The United States Drug Enforcement Agency
agrees with police departments that if marijuana use is legalized, crime could

Environmental Preservation Of Bees
What comes to mind when you think of bees? Personally, I think of honey and bee
stings. Fortunately, bees provide us with a lot more than just honey. Believe it or not,
they play a significant role in the sustenance of our ecosystem, and contribute to a
third of everything that we eat. Bees are among many important pollinators, that help
to increase the quality and yields of crops produced for human consumption, such as;
nuts, fruits, vegetables and many other plants. Sadly, due to urbanization and modern
farming practices, beehabitats are increasingly declining.
Summary of Article
Luckily for wild bees and our ecosystem, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts have
partnered with Pollinator Partnership, a non profit organization dedicated to
protecting pollinators such as bees, to develop and create bee hotels. Built using
recycled materials, these miniature hotels serve the greater purpose of protecting and
preserving bee species around the world, also allowing bees a safe place to nest and

While feeding on flowers, bees also make it possible for flowers to reproduce,
further allowing our agriculture and ecosystems to flourish. Unfortunately, our
disregard for pollinators and their habitats is slowly leading to the extinction of
certain types of bees. In addition to loss of habitat, bees are also subjected to harmful
pesticides, air pollution, and global warming. Thanks to Fairmont s sustainability
program and subsequent initiatives, wild bees now have sanctuaries at 10 hotels in
North America, including the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. In addition to
Fairmont, farmers can also make a positive contribution to our ecosystem and help
reverse the world bee decline, by using ecological farming

North American Landscape Photography Essay
Since the Renaissance Era the public had been craving detail scenic views of the
land. With the help of the camera obscura, lithographs, engravings, and photography
the landscape of distant land were becoming available to everyone. The goal for
many European landscape photographers was to document and provide historical
information. After improvements to the calotype process many governments or
sponsored organizations offered campaigns for photographers to capture certain
shots. In 1851 five photographers: Edouard Denis Baldus, Hippolye Bayard, Le
Gray, Henri Le Secq, and O. Mestral were sent throughout France by the Belgian
Treasury to capture France s architectural patrimony. They took pictures of crumbling

Braun s image called Lake Streamers at Winter Mooring perfectly captures the serene

the other side of the Atlantic in the Americas the goal was to document the expansion
and discovery of the uncharted lands. Marc Ferrez from South America opened his
studio in Rio de Janiro with photographs specializing in Brazilian views that, balances
geological descriptiveness with sensitivity to light to create a serene yet visually
aesthetic image (Rosenblum). In North America many photographers were going out
to the Midwest to capture the urban development and as documentation of the
landscape. Many companies especially railroad companies would hire photographers
to document the construction of the railroad and the growth of a city. Carleton E.

Biometrics And The Black Market For Recognition Purposes
Just imagine walking into a GAP clothing store as a device measures a person s
eyes for recognition and then proceeds to deliver custom content on items
previously purchased. In the futuristic sci fi thriller Minority Report a scene,
exactly as described, unfolds. The story was set in Washington D.C. in the year
2054. While the film was filled with hero s, hacker s, and drama, a city wide optical
recognition system was used to identify its citizens. Minority Report gave an
interesting perspective on how biometricsmight work in the future for recognition
purposes. It also sparks the imagination on what other forms of biometrics could be
used to identify individuals. Is a journey to the black market for a dicey eye
transplant in our future?
Biometrics is a term that refers to the broad amassment of various human
characteristics. In computer science, biometrics authentication is used for access and
a form of identification. Biometrics can also be used to survey and identify
individuals in groups. Statistically, biometrics are unique and measurable to only one
individual. When biometrics are used in authentication they can be broken down into
two groups of measurability, physiological characteristics and behavioral
characteristics. Physiological characteristic can be, but are not limited to, Biometrics
that consist of a person s Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), fingerprints, face, hands,
eyes, ears or even odor. The second of the two characteristics, are the behavioral
Caesar Barber V. Mcdonald s Corporation
In a 2003 court case, Caesar Barber v. McDonald s Corporation, et al., Barber
claimed he was unaware of the nutritional and fat content of the fast food he ate on
a near daily basis for decades, and which he claimed caused his multiple illnesses
(Daily Caller). The people of the court ruled that Barber s choice of food was the
cause of his many health issues, not the restaurants which supplied the fast food. In
this case, the court held the consumer responsible for his selections; however, the
court s expectation of personal responsibility in food selection will most likely
become anachronous. The article Is Fast Food the New Tobacco? addresses the
issue of rapidly growing fast food chain restaurants, such as McDonalds, Burger
King, and Taco Bell, and the health issues that perpetuate from an increased amount
of these restaurants. Anywhere we travel today, out of town, to a big city or a
small village, consumers are bound to see some sort of advertising for fast food.
Many billboards display life size pictures of steaming hot sandwiches, fresh cut
fries, or an ice cold beverage. The streets are lined with bright, golden arches,
fluorescent bells, or a red headed, smiling little girl. All of these modes of
advertisement draw consumers in, whether they be hungry or simply in a rush with
no time to cook dinner at home, and feed them food that just isn t up to par with
healthy eating standards. Notice, these restaurants don t use force to bring customers

Essay on Contrasting Genesis I and II of the Holy Bible
Contrasting Genesis I and II
Where Genesis I describes a more ordered creation the manifestation of a more
primitive cultural influence than was responsible for the multi layered creation in
Genesis II the second creation story focuses less on an etiological justification for the
physical world and examines the ramifications of humankind s existence and
relationship with God. Instead of Genesis I s simple and repetitive refrains of and
God saw that it was good (Gen 1:12, 18, 21, 25), Genesis II features a more
stylistically advanced look at the day that the LORD God made the earth and the

(Genesis 2:4 7)
The second account of creation differs from the first story in three important
distinctions: the indication of creation in a single day, the creation of man from the
dust of the ground (Gen 2:7) rather than in our image (Gen 1:26), and the submissive
role of women as a man s helper (Gen 2:18) rather than the equal created in the first
story.
The single day creation indicates a combination of separate biblical traditions,
rather than a specific discrepancy in the believed happenings, as well as implies
that the society of the second creation placed less value in God s creation of the
physical world than in the role of humankind in that environment. Where the
creation told in Genesis I centers on God s process of shaping the world from a
formless void (Gen 1:2) into an ordered, comprehensible physical world a transition
that parallels the Hebrews change from nomadic life to a settled society the second
creation s fully functioning world is merely a background for the greater role that
man and woman will play.
And the LORD God commanded the man, You may freely eat of every tree of the
garden; but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day
that you eat of it you shall die. (Gen 1:16 17)
It is with the introduction of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that the drama
of creation at God s hands is no longer comparable with the drama that will unfold for
man and woman.

what they value as luxury. The management team has identified the critical process
that every location has to implement. This standardization provides the structure for
the property manager to focus on the experiences of the customer. By using these
different elements to gather feedback for problems and solutions, they are developing
the key process to anticipate a customer s needs. The collection, analysis and
distribution of information, including output and quality reports on a company s

How Technology Has Influenced The Music Industry
We shape our tools thereafter our tools shape us
Technology has had a profound effect on our civilisation and culture, and this has
been reflected in the changing state of the music industry. This includes the
development of virtual instruments, the accessibility to digital audio workstation
technology, file sharing, online music streaming, the growth and development of
social media platforms, and digital instruments. We live in an age where it is
becoming increasingly easier to produce, obtain, share and discover music. This paper
will explore some of the ways in which technology has influenced the music industry,
with a focus on the diminishing need for musical talent.
MIDI was originally invented in order to allow electronic musical devices to
communicate with one another. This development opened up an entirely new era of
musical processing. In an interview with Tom Bateman of BBC radio, creator of
MIDI Dave Smith explains
The computers were fast enough to be able to sequence notes, control the number of
keyboards and drum machines at the same time...it kind of opened up a whole new
industry. 1
Not only did MIDI open up a new industry for musical processing, but the technology
was later integrated into computer software as a VST plugin in a vitalised form,
allowing for the creation of virtual instruments. The aim of virtual instrument
software exists to manufacture the sounds of physical instruments through recording,
in order to produce the same instrument sound
Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale
Though the idea that women should be subservient is pervasive in Renaissance
literature, Shakespeare challenges this concept in The Winter s Tale by providing
evidence to the contrary.
His female characters are able to gain power using different techniques according to
their situations. However, these methods vary greatly between the court of the
shepherd in Bohemia and Leontes court in Sicilia. While women in the royal court
gain influence through their use of effective rhetoric, Shakespeare describes that
Perdita s power in the shepherd s court stems mostly from her beauty. From this
juxtaposition, Shakespeare claims that women in a lower class setting are
empowered by their appearance while women in an upper class setting use language
to affect change. Furthermore, Shakespeare also expresses his contention that men
believe in an opposite system of empowerment according to their social class. He
argues that gentlemen associate power with appearance and view rhetoric as
unimportant while lower class men put more emphasis on language as a means of
empowerment. Overall, Shakespeare provides an argument that women are
empowered through different methods depending on their socioeconomic standing.
Conversely, Shakespeare also expresses the notion that men do not follow the same
pattern as women.
Shakespeare conveys his belief that women gain influence in the royal court through
the use of language by displaying Paulina s ability to control men using her speech.

Effectiveness And Safety Of Cam Practices
Although it is not part of standard or mainstream medical care, there has been a
sparking up rise in the use of non mainstream medical products and practices that are
referred to as Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Medical Doctors
(MD), Doctors of Osteopathy (DO), and Allied Health Professionals, such as Nurses
and Physical Therapists, all practice standard/mainstream care that most people are
familiar with. When non mainstream medicineis used together with standard care it is
considered complementary medicine, such as acupunctureto assist with cancer
treatment side effects of chemotherapy. When non mainstream medicine is
exchanged for standard care it is considered alternative medicine, such as chelation
therapy that removes excess metals from the blood when treating heart disease. A few
of the non mainstream or unconventional medical approaches are considered
integrative medicine, although there is a limited amount of some scientific evidence.
There have been several different studies composed to help determine the usefulness
and safety of CAM practices. Some researchers are unaware of the safety of the CAM
treatments and their functions. Consequently, it is difficult for people to make
informed decisions about using some treatments because of the lack of consistent
data. A variety of practices and systems of complementary medicine that have not
been embraced by mainstream Western medicine are because of cultural, economic,
social, and scientific reasons.
Wes Anderson Anthropology
Film is a prevalent aspect of modern North American culture that works to both
shape the culture while being shaped by the culture. The ideological elements that
films contain, and the purposes that these ideologies serve, are similar to the
function of religious ideologies (Lyden 2003: 3). This is possible through films
creation of their own realities. Films craft a sacred space that allows the audience to
escape from the normal realm of time and space, immersing the them in the reality of
the film (25;65). In this immersion, the audience is able to follow the film s myths,
morals, and rituals in a manner that mirrors religious ideologies and their legitimation
or challenging of dominant societal norms (33). Myths in film, as with religion,...

Walter Cronkite s We Are Mired In Stalemate
Walter Cronkite s We are Mired in Stalemate Broadcast On February 27, 1968,
Walter Cronkite made a special CBS news report regarding America s involvement
in the Vietnam War. Walter Cronkite was a well trusted and convincing man and
was even considered at times as one of the most trusted men in America. He used
his words in his We are Mired in Stalemate broadcast in a way that changed
America s perception of the Vietnam War. The people of America, the audience of
this broadcast, believed every word Cronkite said. They took his ability to
convince so seriously even to the point that President Johnson believed that if he
had lost the approval of Cronkite, he had lost the entire country s support. Walter
Cronkite was talking to the nation of America in his We are Mired in Stalemate
broadcast, and they took every word he said into serious consideration. This news
broadcast was crucial at the time, and can be argued as one of the most influential
decision makers for the people s opinion of ending the U.S.... Show more content on

He used this time to make the people of America aware of who, in his opinion, had
won the recent battles during the Tet Offensive and why there was uncertainty
surrounding it. At first, Cronkite had supported U.S. policies in Vietnam;
however, his opinion had changed over time and he wanted America to realize the
shape they were in after the Tet Offensive battles. He says he is not entirely sure
who had won the battles, and makes it known that neither side won by a knockout,
or even won at all. To the people, it looked like America had been brutally attacked
and had suffered a bad loss, but to Cronkite it was not a victory for anyone, and that
is where the uncertainty of it came from. Nobody had won the Tet offensive battle,
and while that may have calmed Americans at the time, he also wanted it to be
known that is was most definitely not a good
Why Teenagers Should Be Allowed To Vote
Teens are not the same as they used to be. Those who are not at least 16 years of
age should have the choice to vote. Teenager s minds have developed a lot. Voting
is a privilege, but you don t have to vote, because it isn t mandatory. Some
teenagers are now mature, and know what they want at the age of 16. If they voted,
knowing who they wanted to pick, then it s just an extra vote. Depending on who
you vote for, this can be an advantage. Some teenagers don t know what they want. It
it very true that there are a lot of teens that do not know what they want, which can
be confusing at times. If they chose randomly, then it can either mess up your vote or
make it larger. Again, depending on who you are votingfor, this can be an advantage.
Blake s Style Of The Idyyger And The Tyger By William
Blake
William Blake, a revolutionary writer of his era, illustrates the differences between
the innocent, kind, and ignorant childhood, to the corrupt, dark, and gothic
adulthood that follows. Many of his pieces such as the The Tyger , The Lamb , are
all written in Blake s style that convey many different messages than how the story
was written. Each specific line in these misunderstood poems convey meanings that
show the other side of the world, the side thats gloomy, dark, and corrupt. In his
poems, Blake evaluates two totally different perspectives in the world and how
people who view the world in one of these perspectives live. But the truly
outstanding fact about Blake s style is the fact that he does not favor a perspective,
he criticizes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A time in his life where he vehemently complained about the Church, and any
cultural traditions that included racism, sex, and other habits. Blake revolt against
these ideals was due to the fact that he believed that passion and imagination can be
limited by these things. On the other hand, Songs of Innocence always believed that
no matter what, God was always by your side whenever a person truly needed him.
Idyllic poems of this nature tend to have a specific theme overall, they are positive,
optimistic, and very happy when a reader begins to analyze the poetry. The poem The
Tyger is often compared to his other work that contradict each other, The Lamb . The
logic behind this poem is that the almighty creator creates animals that are cute,
soft, and gentle. This in every way, goes against The Tyger when God is said to
create a vicious and cruel animal such as a tiger. Just as The Little Boy Found ,
another piece by Blake, a sense of happiness and comfort is felt when reading this
poem, this was also not present when reading The Tyger . Blake was known to be a
great artist. Throughout his poems, he would add illustrations for tigers, and lambs
that can shift the true meaning of the poem. In The Tyger , the tiger was illustrated
in a way that made this ferocious animal seem harmless. As we know tigers, they
are able to kill anyone they lay their hands on. As for most people in the radical era,
tiger sighting was a rare scene. His use of imagery forces people into imagining an
animal that is deadly, ferocious and nothing like the illustrations
Benefits Of A Plant-Based Diet
This is why a plant based diet may be perfect for you. Not only are plants much
lower in sodium than animal products and processed foods, but they contain these
vital minerals. Natural, Plant Based Foods for Lower Blood Pressure
1. White beans. White beans include navy beans, cannellini beans (white kidney
beans), and Great Northern beans. One cup of navy beans contains 10% of your
daily value of potassium, and 26% magnesium. Check labels on bags and cans,
because some varieties provide even more! My favorite way to enjoy white beans
is in a soup, much like this EASY recipe including kale. Always drain and
thoroughly rinse your canned beans. There s usually a lot of sodium hiding in the
packing liquid. 2. Broccoli. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Green Black s uses organic cane sugar. 5. Beets. If you only add one new food to
your low blood pressure grocery list, make it beets. A University of London study
reveals that drinking just over two cups of beetroot juice daily lowers blood
pressure. The active ingredient here are dietary nitrates that react with our
digestive juices. I m guessing that the juice in particular is effective because it s a
high concentration of nutrients. Two cups of juice would likely take four beets,
depending on the size. That s quite a lot for one glass! Because fiber is crucial to
absorption, try putting beetroot into your smoothies. Good juicers are mighty
expensive for having but one purpose. Modern countertop blenders are tough
enough to break beets down to a smooth, silky texture. 6. Hibiscus tea. In other
countries, hibiscus tea is a common natural cure for lowering blood pressure
quickly. This tart herbal infusion made from the beautiful flowering plant has
many medicinal benefits. It s very high in vitamin C and iron, so you should drink
it even if blood pressure isn t a concern. But it s not a source of magnesium or
potassium, so how does it work? For one, hibiscus tea is a natural diuretic. But it
also dilates blood vessels, and disrupts hormones that send vessel constricting
signals. Some studies show that it s as effective or almost as effective as medications
like captopril or
Essay On Starvation In America
Starvation in America is heavily used when you also hear donations but have you
actually sat down and looked into the problem? What causes it, and what we can
actually do to help people? Is there really a way to stop people from starving?
Starvation mainly occurs in southern states such as, New mexico, Arizona and
Mississippi. Starvation, also known as food insecurity, is defined as suffering or
death caused by hunger but it is more than that. It is going most days without food
not knowing if it is going to kill you or not. Starvation is a serious problem not only
in the united states but in other countries too.

Risk Management Task 1a
JIT Task 1 Risk Management
Risk Management
From the last decade risk management is the most researched and exciting area in the
financial industry as it elaborates how to minimize and avert the hazard of risk from
the portfolios of different assets and from the operations of financial institutions.
Regulators and depositors mainly emphasize the risk management and according to
them risk management is an essential ingredient to enhance the value of shareholders
and increase their level of confidence. Risk management is the assessment of risks to
mitigate, monitor and control the probability or impact on uncertain events. Risk

governments operating in the complex economic environment of the 21st century
must contend with a broad range of risks. Some do so in an adhoc or reactive
fashion, responding to risks as they appear, whilst others are proactive, planning in
advance the risks that they wish to assume and how they can best manage them.
Since it has become clear over the past few years that risk can be financially
damaging when neglected, anecdotal and empirical evidence suggests that
institutions increasingly opt for formalized processes to manage uncertainties that
can lead to losses. Risk can be classified in a number of ways and though we do not
intend to present a detailed taxonomy of risk, a brief overview is useful in order to
frame my discussion. To begin, risk can be divided broadly into financial risk and
operating risk. Financial risk is the risk of loss arising from the movement of a
market or performance of a counterparty and can be segregated into market risk
(the risk of loss due to movement in market references, such as interest rates, stock
prices or currency rates), liquidity risk (the risk of loss due to an inability to obtain
unsecured funding or sell assets in order to make payments) and credit risk (the risk
of loss due to non performance by a counterparty on its contractual obligations). A
rise in funding costs, an inability to sell financial assets at carrying value or the
default by a counterparty on a loan are examples of
Advertising for 4G Technology with Sprint
Introduction
One of the most heavily advertised areas of technology in the United States currently
is 4G technology. Every commercial and advertisement promises fast speeds, great
coverage, and exceptional service altogether. However, the competition proves to be
extreme and unbalanced. Since its introduction on Sprint s network, 4G, or fourth
generation cellular technology, has revolutionized both the telecommunication arena
while spilling into other technological fields. There is no end in sight for the
relentless competition of expanding 4G technologies as coverage and network
speeds continue to increase. Currently, 4G technology is offered by all major
telecommunication carriers in the United States: Verizon, AT T, T Mobile, and
Sprint. However, the term 4G has been loosely used. The best example of this can
be associated with Sprint. The initial 4G technology Sprint offered was based of
WiMAX technology. WiMAX proved to be fast technology, but lackluster in its
performance and capabilities in regards to LTE. LTE has become the primary 4G
technology in the United States while development of WiMAX has ceased. In
addition, Sprint s 4G vision has switched to LTE. The question is raised Why did
LTE win over WiMAX? . From many perspectives, LTE proved to be the superior
technology.
The Power of Networking One can easily argue that one of the greatest things that
developed in the latter half of the twentieth century was the internet. By combining

MS-13 And Barrio 18 Analysis
Both MS 13 and Barrio 18 created a lot of crimes in the Los Angles area, once gang
members had been charged of several crimes, the United States government decided
to deport them back to their country of origin. In the 90 s the U.S. brought airplanes
full of gang members that the country no longer wanted to be responsible for and
instead brought the crimeover to El Salvador. During this time period, El Salvador
was finishing the civil war and the government had basically started all over, the
national police force was barely forming meaning that they lacked control over their
citizens and over these thousands of gangmembers who were entering the country
(Garsd, J., 2015). This situation left a gap for other groups to take control over the
system and so they did.
Hans Albert Einstein And The Life Of Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born to secular Jewish family in Ulm, Germany on March 14,
1879. Einstein is best known for the development of the theory of relativity, a major
structure of physics. However, before he became this revered figure in science,
Einstein worked at a patent office in Bern, Switzerland where he developed his first
scientific theories. Much of his work at the patent office presented questions about
transmission of electric signals and electrical mechanical synchronization of time,
two technical problems that eventually led Einstein to his revolutionary conclusions
about the nature of light and the fundamental connection between space and time.
While attending college at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic, Einstein met Mileva Maric,
with whom he developed a close relationship with. In January 1903, Einstein married
Maric, and they later had two children. The first son, Hans Albert Einstein, born in
Bern, Switzerland, and the second, Eduard Einstein, born in Zurich July 1910.
Einstein and Mileva are believed to have had their first child in 1902, a daughter
they named Lieserl, who is believed to have either been given up for adoption or
died of scarlet fever. Hans later went on to become a professor of Hydraulic
Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and received honorable
recognition for his research regarding sediment transport. Eduard studied medicine in
hopes of becoming a psychiatrist, but unfortunately suffered a breakdown, which led

Prediction Energy Essay
Insight #2: Prediction architecture is energy efficient when sensing low spatial
frequency images.
The power consumption in this prediction architecture can be divided into three parts:
the switched capacitor array, the comparator, and the digital circuits. Power analysis
of the switched capacitor array is based on the charging and discharging energy
during A/D conversions. At the beginning of the conversion, the capacitors are reset
to GND. In the first bit conversion, the bottom plate of the capacitor is switched to
VREF , and VDAC is charged to 1/2 VREF . This switching energy is 8CVREF 2.
At this moment, if VIN VDAC, then the current capacitor is kept to VREF and next
capacitor is switched to VREF, so VDAC is charged to 3/4 VREF. In... Show more

Prediction Architecture with Event Based Sensing The preliminary results
demonstrated the feasibility of the Prediction Architecture image sensors. We propose
to further explore the prediction architecture in audio and other sensors such like
temperature, pressure, or radar sensors by combining the prediction circuits with
event based processing circuits.
Prediction architecture sensors for time domain signal sensors In the published
preliminary results, we have successfully demonstrated the prediction architecture in
2 D image sensors. We are planning to study the prediction circuit structure for other
time domain signals such as audio, temperature, pressure, and radar signals using
event based methods. Thus, when the input signal is silent, the sensor will predict
that the next sampling is still silent, while the input signal starts launching a spike,
the prediction circuit should predict the next sampling by extrapolating the slope, by
doing so the analog to digital comparing power can be greatly saved since if the
input signal is sparse, most of the prediction will be correct. The
The Rhetorical Analysis Of Political Advertising In The...
The advertising industry relies upon multiple different techniques to target a specific
audience, and persuade them of their intended message or product. Basic analysis
reviews rhetorical techniques that play upon the pillars of ethos, logos, and pathos.
On a deeper level, the advertisements analyzed also share a common characteristic for
analysis; They are all politically relevant in their subject matter and allusions, relating
to contemporary issues faced by viewers. While political advertisements run the risk
of alienating consumers who disagree with the stance taken or statement made, they
are ultimately worthwhile because the connection felt by a consumer who agrees
with the stance has more impactful results. A consumer who agrees with a political
advertisement is likely to respect that company for its values and develop loyalty.
Political advertisements content, in combination with its rhetorical techniques, are
made to be more persuasive and memorable when aligned with the right viewer
audience. Perhaps the best place to go for examining advertisements is the Super
Bowl, one of the most highly watched television programs yearly, and therefore the
ideal time for companies to advertise. Budweiser, an American beer company, is an
advertising giant, annually producing blockbuster ads for each Super Bowl.
Typically, their ads feature cute golden retriever puppies or their emblem of a
Clydesdale horse; yet for the 2017 Super Bowl the company sprung for a more

Mercker does this with two of his paintings. Bridge Construction is a painting that
was completed in Germany in 1936 (TГјrk, 2003, p. 312). This painting shows
concrete arches, the beginning of a bridge being made (Jung, 2014, p.312).
Mercker, does a rough overview of the construction of some bridges from a

at deal of land scape in the first picture. The first picture, Construction of Rohrbach
Bridge, has different linear perspective and color scheme the second one (TГјrk,
2003, p. 312). The horizon goes more into the distance and there are more dark
colors describing the scene. When the viewer looks at the second painting, Bridge
Construction with Arcs (more focused picture) the angle is more apparent (TГјrk,
2003, p. 312). This has to do with asymmetric balance because the angle draws the
viewer to see how big the arches actually were. The depth is also carried out more
and there is more detail. These painting are considered sublime because they
demonstrated the scale of how the bridges were in 1936. The same picture was made
twice so they have most of the same

even though you re not present were it is taking place connects people in a higher

Prosecution Intimidation And Witness Intimidation
There are many reasons victims do no want to testify in court. Legal cynicism and
witness intimidation are a couple of the top reasons. One reason I feel is overlooked
is witness intimidation. Witness Intimidation is when threats are made by defendants
to discourage victims or witnesses of a crime from reporting or testifying. (Connick
and Davis 439) If a victimfeels threatened, they often become hesitant to testify
sometimes even to report the crime. With the right incentives, victims and witnesses
would be more likely to participate in the process of testifying against a defendant.
Witness intimidation happens in many forms, such as: looks, threats of violence,
physical violence, property damage, etc. If you commit a crime, you will ... Show

These programs are still new in the eyes of the justice system. Victims and witnesses
receiving help were more likely to appear when summoned than those who had not
been aided. (Neubauer and Fradella 236) Victims who are testifying against a
defendant are authorized to receive protection, whether inside or outside of court.
There are services provided to protect the victims or witnesses. When waiting in the
courtroom, they are entitled to a special waiting room, away and out of sight from the
defendant and the defendant s friends and family. By separating the defendant from
the victims and witnesses, it lessens the change of intimidation within the courtroom.
Even victims and witnesses that are incarcerated have the option and availability to
be separated from others to keep them safe. By separating from certain groups, gangs
are not able to finish hits on a victim or witness.
Another way to keep a victim or witness in testifying is ensuring that everyone
coming in and out of the courthouse will be on video surveillance. By taping
everyone coming into the courthouse, hopefully it would discourage any intimidation
within the courthouse. Also by having surveillance, it would give the victims and
witnesses a sense of security, knowing that anybody coming near them in the
courthouse is on camera.
One program to motivate victims to participate in testifying helps with compensating
the victims or witnesses. During the process of the trial and even before when

This means that traffic generated from users communicating only in the wireless
network does not have to be propagated towards the optical network as happens
with RoF technology. Thus, distributed MAC protocols, e.g. IEEE 802.11b, avoid
the fiber s extra propagation delays that degrade their performance. This feature
removes a possible limitation regarding the length of the deployed fiber while it
adds a degree of resiliency to the system since local wireless traffic can be served
even when connectivity with the optical segment is lost.

OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS A growing number of providers worldwide are
adopting optical technologies in the access network and towards the client s
premises (Fiber to the Home or FTTH) due to optical fiber s ability to provide huge
amounts of bandwidth in longer distances than copper, immunity to
electromagnetic interference and inherent security. Fiber generally should be
installed underground for safety reasons and therefore its deployment is an
expensive procedure. This is mitigated by deploying a tree like network topology
where a part of it is being shared by many clients. Each client is connected via a
dedicated fiber to a Remote Node (RN) which in turn is connected via a single fiber
to a CO. In general two technologies can be used for this implementation

and irrational feeling conveying his recklessness and contrasting the rationality of
science causing the reader to question Victor s ability as a scientist or creator. In
Milton s works Eve never interacts with god. The women in Frankenstein, Walton
s sister and Elizabeth are kept away from the main story and the action; they are
used mostly as narrative or plot devices: the sister as giving someone for Walton to
write to and Elizabeth as a companion and then catalyst for Victor and the Monster
s chase. The narrator of Paradise Lost describes Adam as created for God, and Eve
as created for Adam, and that she was designed for the purpose of companionship
much like Elizabeth s depiction. Although the gender imbalances of Paradise Lost
are based on the current societal ideologies and those of the bible, Shelley s
depiction (or lack thereof) can been seen to suggest their importance in the creation of
life.
Victor Frankenstein, through his speech and actions is constructed as a symbolic
parallel to God, particularly through his creation of life. However Shelley s God

Hr Giger Research Paper
There are two artists from distinct eras, who have made a profound impact on the
world of illustration. One artist is a contemporary icon known for his success within
the movie industry with his creations used in the 1980s Oscar winning movie, Alien
(HR Giger). H.R. Giger was born in Chur, Switzerland in 1940. Though he studied
architecture and industrial design, he became one of the most famous surrealist
artists concentrating on works of fantastic realism (HR Giger). The other artist used
her illustrations to bring children s literature to mainstream society in the early
1900s: Helen Beatrix Potter. Born on July 28, 1866 in Kensington, London, Potter was
a self taught illustrator, who found recognition and success within a male dominated
society (Beatrix Potter).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this fact, both H.R. Giger and Beatrix Potter should be studied for their separate
and varying contributions to the world of illustration.
H.R.Giger s illustrations are considered gothic with a twist of the cosmic
supernatural. Best known for his book, Necronomicon, he published in 1977, Giger
quickly rose to attention. This book is a collection of images with his most
recognized being depictions of aliens in a surrealistic biochemical dreamscape (HR
Giger). These representations caught the eye of Hollywood director Ridley Scott,
who based his horror movie, Alien, upon Giger s creations. This movie would be
awarded the 1980s Oscar for the Best Achievement in Visual Effects for title
character, stages of life cycle and environment (HR Giger). As an artist, Giger s
strongest illustration characteristic is artistic technique. Using ink, oils and
airbrushing, Giger s compositions are bold with the use of all available space filled
with imaginative details, depth and/ or patterns. In Necronom V, Giger depicts an alien
, which became an iconic figure fulfilling the illustrator s characteristic of the use of
the Powers of Observation (Giger, H.R. Necronom V

  • 2. Shang Dynasty Essay By 1100 BCE, the trend of oracle bone inscriptions the size Shang had shrunk considerably due to intrusions by people north and west. They were meant to suggest an increased concentration of power in the hands of the last Shang king, despite being depicted in literary records as coinciding with their dissolution. Consequently, the state of Zhou to the west, a Shang dependency, began to take military action against them. In the Shujing compiled by Confucius narrates of the Zhou kings Wen, Wu, Cheng and Duke Dan when they systematically pushed their influence of territories eastwards from 1122 BCE onwards and took much of Shang territory under their control. As a result of what was to come 78 years later, Zhou forces captured and burned the last Shang stronghold at Anyang as a moral justification against a long reign of corruption. Conquest by one of the 3 dynasties did not mean exile, extinction, or enslavement for those defeated. Rather the conquerors were depicted as presenting their victories as acts of renewal for those they subdued by ridding them of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being an era of disunity ,it produced a time of intense warfare as the inner state system created around the Zhou dynasty long broke down. The most powerful of the states engaged in wars that created countries of a new kind of maximum military benefit. With militarization came a number of military innovations which laid waste to cities and whole states. With that came the most reputed military strategist of the day, Sun Tsu, whose philosophies of duplicity, combative tactics, and loyalty to the elites were elaborated in the Art of War. By its close, Zhou had been dissolved by their combatants and Qin would emerge as the creator of a newly unified empire in 221 BCE (for only 15 years) with the execution of the Duke of
  • 3. Misconception About Africa If a country had been living on its own for hundreds of years without any help and is not seeking assistance, then there is no sensible explanation as to why another country would get involved. While many people believe Africa is a whole continent in need of foreign aid, this misapprehension could not be farther from the truth. Before any type of outside involvement, most Africans were educated and civilized. While it is a widespread misconception that Africa is the heart of darkness, in reality, it is a place full of sophisticated people living just like the rest of the world. It is true that during the late 1800 s many countries in Africa were not as developed as many places in Europe, however as Chinua Achebe states, Africa is ...vaguely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When European countries got involved, they took advantage of the people because of the stereotypes already in their heads. The way newcomers treated the native Africans was so appalling that one could say the natives were [a]gainst the deceit, fraud, robberies, arson, murder, slave raiding, and general policy of cruelty. (Williams, 1890). The abuse of the African peoplebecame so out of hand that they were not seen as people anymore but rather as property. Keep in mind that these countries were getting involved to help and save Africa. Even the purest of people became so used to the notion that Africans were not equal to them that [t]he lust for slave profits engulfed even some of the priest, who abandoned their preaching... (Hochschild, 1998). Without these foreign countries, Africans would continue to live the way they are accustomed. Most African countries have very strong, implicit beliefs and customs, therefore, when another country interferes, it ends up hurting rather than

When the knee is in full extension, rotation is impossible because the ligaments are tight. They will relax when the knee is flexed over 20 degrees and it will allow rotation 1,3. The main elements for knee stability are tendons and ligaments. Fibrous connective tissue forms a knee capsule, which is padded by a synovial membrane. Suprapatellar bursa is extended if a joint effusion is formed 3. Lachman test is the most sensitive test. To perform Lachman test knee must be flexed 15 30 degrees and after that the lower leg should be pulled forward while the femur is held in position. The test is positive if there is displacement over 5 mm when we compare it to the other knee or when there is no strong end point1,3. The anterior drawer test is not that reliable for injury of anterior cruciate ligament. The hip should be held at 45 degrees flexion, and knee in 90 degrees flexion. The foot should be pressed to the examination table and upper part of tibia should be pulled forward. This movement should be carried out first with the knee in neutral position and after that with the knee in external and internal rotation. If there is an increased looseness of the knee in neutral position the ACL is probably injured. Posteromedial capsule is likely to be injured if there is increased dislocation with external rotation and posterolateral capsule if there is increased dislocation with internal

Yet, even with prohibition, marijuana use has only decreased minimally. Because of its illegality, only the bad aspects of marijuana use have been made known. However, there are many positive aspects of marijuana legalization, including its application concerning medical cures. As of today, in most of the states, marijuana is classified as an illegal drug. Current evidence has shown marijuana also causes some chemical changes in the brain. After exposure to this drug, there have been reports of effects on brain electrical activity in human beings and in animals. Marijuana also has been found to produce an acute brain syndrome. ?This is a more severe mental problem consisting of confusion and loss of contact with reality? stated Berger (8). The main reason that the United States Drug Enforcement Agency doesn t want marijuana use to be legalized is because there is no evidence to date that proves that marijuana is an effective drug when used for medicinal purposes. Scientists have researched this drug for twenty years and have yet to produce reliable scientific proof that marijuana has medical value. New findings show that marijuana is acutely harmful to AIDS and cancer patients because the active ingredient in marijuana acutely reduces the white blood cells that fight off infection. The United States Drug Enforcement Agency agrees with police departments that if marijuana use is legalized, crime could

(Genesis 2:4 7) The second account of creation differs from the first story in three important distinctions: the indication of creation in a single day, the creation of man from the dust of the ground (Gen 2:7) rather than in our image (Gen 1:26), and the submissive role of women as a man s helper (Gen 2:18) rather than the equal created in the first story. The single day creation indicates a combination of separate biblical traditions, rather than a specific discrepancy in the believed happenings, as well as implies that the society of the second creation placed less value in God s creation of the physical world than in the role of humankind in that environment. Where the creation told in Genesis I centers on God s process of shaping the world from a formless void (Gen 1:2) into an ordered, comprehensible physical world a transition that parallels the Hebrews change from nomadic life to a settled society the second creation s fully functioning world is merely a background for the greater role that man and woman will play. Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale Though the idea that women should be subservient is pervasive in Renaissance literature, Shakespeare challenges this concept in The Winter s Tale by providing evidence to the contrary. His female characters are able to gain power using different techniques according to their situations. However, these methods vary greatly between the court of the shepherd in Bohemia and Leontes court in Sicilia. While women in the royal court gain influence through their use of effective rhetoric, Shakespeare describes that Perdita s power in the shepherd s court stems mostly from her beauty. From this juxtaposition, Shakespeare claims that women in a lower class setting are empowered by their appearance while women in an upper class setting use language to affect change. Furthermore, Shakespeare also expresses his contention that men believe in an opposite system of empowerment according to their social class. He argues that gentlemen associate power with appearance and view rhetoric as unimportant while lower class men put more emphasis on language as a means of empowerment. Overall, Shakespeare provides an argument that women are empowered through different methods depending on their socioeconomic standing. Conversely, Shakespeare also expresses the notion that men do not follow the same pattern as women. Shakespeare conveys his belief that women gain influence in the royal court through the use of language by displaying Paulina s ability to control men using her speech. After Hermione

Idyllic poems of this nature tend to have a specific theme overall, they are positive, optimistic, and very happy when a reader begins to analyze the poetry. The poem The Tyger is often compared to his other work that contradict each other, The Lamb . The logic behind this poem is that the almighty creator creates animals that are cute, soft, and gentle. This in every way, goes against The Tyger when God is said to create a vicious and cruel animal such as a tiger. Since it has become clear over the past few years that risk can be financially damaging when neglected, anecdotal and empirical evidence suggests that institutions increasingly opt for formalized processes to manage uncertainties that can lead to losses. Risk can be classified in a number of ways and though we do not intend to present a detailed taxonomy of risk, a brief overview is useful in order to frame my discussion. To begin, risk can be divided broadly into financial risk and operating risk. Financial risk is the risk of loss arising from the movement of a market or performance of a counterparty and can be segregated into market risk (the risk of loss due to movement in market references, such as interest rates, stock prices or currency rates), liquidity risk (the risk of loss due to an inability to obtain unsecured funding or sell assets in order to make payments) and credit risk (the risk of loss due to non performance by a counterparty on its contractual obligations). A rise in funding costs, an inability to sell financial assets at carrying value or the default by a counterparty on a loan are examples of
  • 28. Advertising for 4G Technology with Sprint Introduction One of the most heavily advertised areas of technology in the United States currently is 4G technology. Every commercial and advertisement promises fast speeds, great coverage, and exceptional service altogether. However, the competition proves to be extreme and unbalanced. Since its introduction on Sprint s network, 4G, or fourth generation cellular technology, has revolutionized both the telecommunication arena while spilling into other technological fields. There is no end in sight for the relentless competition of expanding 4G technologies as coverage and network speeds continue to increase. Currently, 4G technology is offered by all major telecommunication carriers in the United States: Verizon, AT T, T Mobile, and Sprint. However, the term 4G has been loosely used. The best example of this can be associated with Sprint. The initial 4G technology Sprint offered was based of WiMAX technology. WiMAX proved to be fast technology, but lackluster in its performance and capabilities in regards to LTE. LTE has become the primary 4G technology in the United States while development of WiMAX has ceased. In addition, Sprint s 4G vision has switched to LTE. The question is raised Why did LTE win over WiMAX? . From many perspectives, LTE proved to be the superior technology. The Power of Networking One can easily argue that one of the greatest things that developed in the latter half of the twentieth century was the internet. By combining networks of networks

MS-13 And Barrio 18 Analysis Both MS 13 and Barrio 18 created a lot of crimes in the Los Angles area, once gang members had been charged of several crimes, the United States government decided to deport them back to their country of origin. In the 90 s the U.S. brought airplanes full of gang members that the country no longer wanted to be responsible for and instead brought the crimeover to El Salvador. During this time period, El Salvador was finishing the civil war and the government had basically started all over, the national police force was barely forming meaning that they lacked control over their citizens and over these thousands of gangmembers who were entering the country (Garsd, J., 2015). This situation left a gap for other groups to take control over the system and so they did.
  • 30. Hans Albert Einstein And The Life Of Albert Einstein Albert Einstein was born to secular Jewish family in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879. Einstein is best known for the development of the theory of relativity, a major structure of physics. However, before he became this revered figure in science, Einstein worked at a patent office in Bern, Switzerland where he developed his first scientific theories. Much of his work at the patent office presented questions about transmission of electric signals and electrical mechanical synchronization of time, two technical problems that eventually led Einstein to his revolutionary conclusions about the nature of light and the fundamental connection between space and time. While attending college at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic, Einstein met Mileva Maric, with whom he developed a close relationship with. In January 1903, Einstein married Maric, and they later had two children. The first son, Hans Albert Einstein, born in Bern, Switzerland, and the second, Eduard Einstein, born in Zurich July 1910. Einstein and Mileva are believed to have had their first child in 1902, a daughter they named Lieserl, who is believed to have either been given up for adoption or died of scarlet fever. Hans later went on to become a professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and received honorable recognition for his research regarding sediment transport. Eduard studied medicine in hopes of becoming a psychiatrist, but unfortunately suffered a breakdown, which led to the
  • 31. Prediction Energy Essay Insight #2: Prediction architecture is energy efficient when sensing low spatial frequency images. The power consumption in this prediction architecture can be divided into three parts: the switched capacitor array, the comparator, and the digital circuits. Power analysis of the switched capacitor array is based on the charging and discharging energy during A/D conversions. At the beginning of the conversion, the capacitors are reset to GND. In the first bit conversion, the bottom plate of the capacitor is switched to VREF , and VDAC is charged to 1/2 VREF . This switching energy is 8CVREF 2. At this moment, if VIN VDAC, then the current capacitor is kept to VREF and next capacitor is switched to VREF, so VDAC is charged to 3/4 VREF. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prediction Architecture with Event Based Sensing The preliminary results demonstrated the feasibility of the Prediction Architecture image sensors. We propose to further explore the prediction architecture in audio and other sensors such like temperature, pressure, or radar sensors by combining the prediction circuits with event based processing circuits. Prediction architecture sensors for time domain signal sensors In the published preliminary results, we have successfully demonstrated the prediction architecture in 2 D image sensors. We are planning to study the prediction circuit structure for other time domain signals such as audio, temperature, pressure, and radar signals using event based methods. Thus, when the input signal is silent, the sensor will predict that the next sampling is still silent, while the input signal starts launching a spike, the prediction circuit should predict the next sampling by extrapolating the slope, by doing so the analog to digital comparing power can be greatly saved since if the input signal is sparse, most of the prediction will be correct. • 32. The Rhetorical Analysis Of Political Advertising In The... The advertising industry relies upon multiple different techniques to target a specific audience, and persuade them of their intended message or product. Basic analysis reviews rhetorical techniques that play upon the pillars of ethos, logos, and pathos. On a deeper level, the advertisements analyzed also share a common characteristic for analysis; They are all politically relevant in their subject matter and allusions, relating to contemporary issues faced by viewers. While political advertisements run the risk of alienating consumers who disagree with the stance taken or statement made, they are ultimately worthwhile because the connection felt by a consumer who agrees with the stance has more impactful results. A consumer who agrees with a political advertisement is likely to respect that company for its values and develop loyalty. Political advertisements content, in combination with its rhetorical techniques, are made to be more persuasive and memorable when aligned with the right viewer audience. Perhaps the best place to go for examining advertisements is the Super Bowl, one of the most highly watched television programs yearly, and therefore the ideal time for companies to advertise. Budweiser, an American beer company, is an advertising giant, annually producing blockbuster ads for each Super Bowl. Typically, their ads feature cute golden retriever puppies or their emblem of a Clydesdale horse; yet for the 2017 Super Bowl the company sprung for a more complex and

It is an aesthetics category that, unlike other categories such as beauty or the picturesque, examines great and awe inspiring phenomena. Like all aesthetic notions, the sublimeproduces various emotions with the persons viewing a piece of art. Bridge Construction is a painting that was completed in Germany in 1936 (TГјrk, 2003, p. 312). This painting shows concrete arches, the beginning of a bridge being made (Jung, 2014, p.312). Mercker, does a rough overview of the construction of some bridges from a distance. The artist uses some tertiary colors for the color of the bridges. There is a at deal of land scape in the first picture. The first picture, Construction of Rohrbach Bridge, has different linear perspective and color scheme the second one (TГјrk, 2003, p. 312). The horizon goes more into the distance and there are more dark colors describing the scene. When the viewer looks at the second painting, Bridge Construction with Arcs (more focused picture) the angle is more apparent (TГјrk, 2003, p. 312). This has to do with asymmetric balance because the angle draws the viewer to see how big the arches actually were. The depth is also carried out more and there is more detail. • 36. Prosecution Intimidation And Witness Intimidation There are many reasons victims do no want to testify in court. Legal cynicism and witness intimidation are a couple of the top reasons. One reason I feel is overlooked is witness intimidation. Witness Intimidation is when threats are made by defendants to discourage victims or witnesses of a crime from reporting or testifying. (Connick and Davis 439) If a victimfeels threatened, they often become hesitant to testify sometimes even to report the crime. With the right incentives, victims and witnesses would be more likely to participate in the process of testifying against a defendant. (Neubauer and Fradella 236) Victims who are testifying against a defendant are authorized to receive protection, whether inside or outside of court. There are services provided to protect the victims or witnesses. When waiting in the courtroom, they are entitled to a special waiting room, away and out of sight from the defendant and the defendant s friends and family. By separating the defendant from the victims and witnesses, it lessens the change of intimidation within the courtroom. Even victims and witnesses that are incarcerated have the option and availability to be separated from others to keep them safe. By separating from certain groups, gangs are not able to finish hits on a victim or witness. Another way to keep a victim or witness in testifying is ensuring that everyone coming in and out of the courthouse will be on video surveillance. By taping everyone coming into the courthouse, hopefully it would discourage any intimidation within the courthouse. Also by having surveillance, it would give the victims and witnesses a sense of security, knowing that anybody coming near them in the courthouse is on camera. One program to motivate victims to participate in testifying helps with compensating the victims or witnesses. During the process of the trial and even before when

This means that traffic generated from users communicating only in the wireless network does not have to be propagated towards the optical network as happens with RoF technology. Thus, distributed MAC protocols, e.g. IEEE 802.11b, avoid the fiber s extra propagation delays that degrade their performance. This feature removes a possible limitation regarding the length of the deployed fiber while it adds a degree of resiliency to the system since local wireless traffic can be served even when connectivity with the optical segment is lost. [pic] OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS A growing number of providers worldwide are adopting optical technologies in the access network and towards the client s premises (Fiber to the Home or FTTH) due to optical fiber s ability to provide huge amounts of bandwidth in longer distances than copper, immunity to electromagnetic interference and inherent security. Fiber generally should be installed underground for safety reasons and therefore its deployment is an expensive procedure. This is mitigated by deploying a tree like network topology where a part of it is being shared by many clients. Each client is connected via a dedicated fiber to a Remote Node (RN) which in turn is connected via a single fiber to a CO. In general two technologies can be used for this implementation
