Hi I M Alfie Research Paper
Hi, I m Alfie. I m looking for a loving forever home that will stick with me through the good and bad.
I love spending most of my day indoors in the company of men, women, and possibly even older
children, where I can pretty much chill out and lounge around. I am prone to alert bark, and I may
have a subtle protective streak in me. However once I know that the stranger is okay around my
family my friendly side shines through. I m a very curious guy and am interested in all that goes on
around me and I miss very little. In my previous home I was an inside dog, so as a result, I am
completely housetrained. Even though, I love spending most of my time indoors, I would really like it
if my next home had a big back yard where I could spend a few

The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings
Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the
time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of
custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010).
John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right
to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self
Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed
at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be
read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody
(deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior
to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are
Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the
requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary
statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making
incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of
arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the
factor that

Oriental Art Essay
Oriental Art Oriental art is very distinct from other parts of the world. In their sculptures they still used
such materials as clay, wood, and bronzes. However their art work promoted such things as goodness
in nature, serenity, graceful balance, spiritual perfection, and a mystical harmony within themselves.
There work avoided confusion, conflict and violent emotions at all costs. New or unprecedented
experiments in their art work was never welcomed, and the expression of nobility and inner worth
where demanded. Ultimately oriental art was said to be a way of being , but to understand this you
must look at the words of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius who said Raise yourself to the
beautiful. However not all Oriental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Shang people came into history half way through the second millennium B.C., these people also
lived in pounded earth settlements, and made funeral vessels. These people established the li which
was the basic metallic shape used in their bronzes. Not only was the li used, but also other shapes have
been discovered. In recent excavations, thousands of different vessels have been found, however it is
possible to distinguish about forty basic shapes of the vessels. Each vessel served a different purpose
in sacrifice or funeral ceremonies. Some where used for wine and water, some for storing foods, while
others where used for cooking meats. The Shang dynasty have left some sculptures as original and
different as there bronzes. However none of the large statue survived excavations. The importance of
the excavations cannot be overemphasized. Who would have imagined an ancient culture so rich that
they actually created stone sculptures, wheel made pottery, carved jade, and bronzes, which have
never been surpassed.
Too often when people speak of Oriental art they think that both China and Japan developed in the
same way and the same time. This statement however is false, and the Japanese art did not start till
several years after Chinese art did. The first forms of Japanese art can be looked at through the Jomon
people, who where nomadic hunters and fishers. A number of human figurines and fertility gods have
been found, also

An Absolute Athenian Tragedy Analysis
An absolute Athenian tragedy. The Sicilian Expedition of 413 415 BC was a decision that ultimately
lead to the complete exhaustion of Athenian manpower, navy, and crucial resources. This decimation
weakened the confidence of not only the Athenians, but of their allies as well. Within the long and
tiring story of the Peloponnesian War, it is the Sicilian Expedition in which leadership stands as a vital
factor in the end result. Besides the Athenians, Spartans did their job along side the Syracusans to
excel in this historic battle. The well regarded Spartan leader Gylippus was able to execute on his part
given the poor decision made my Athens to invade Sicily as well as its richest city, Syracuse.Varying

You see, a huge factor rises in the end of this predicament. The advance of the Roman empire, along
with the fate of the Western World, were essentially saved by the destruction of the Athenians at the
island of Sicily. I firmly claim this because if the expedition were to result positively for the
Athenians, themselves and all of Greece would have landed on a a goldmine in regards to fertile land
which is Sicily. All of Italy and beyond would have been under the heel of Greece and not of Rome.
For the lands such as North Africa, Iberia, and Gaul conquered by the Romans could potentially have
been done by Greeks. The influential defeat at Syracuse ended the great empire known as Greece and
history was shifted for the ages. After that battle, the Peloponnesian war would go on for another ten
years. From that point forward, Greece was mismanaged and misguided by many men who made
attempt to lead. Allies across Greece separated and the democracy in which this empire stood would
crumble and fall victim to an oligarchy. The Athenian expedition in Sicily exemplified Athens as a
tyrant looking to crush the allied thoughts that dared to stand against it. On a final note the expeditions
greatest journalist, Thucydides, explains the extent of the reckoning. He states, This was the greatest
Hellenic action that took place during this war, and, in my opinion, the greatest action that we know of

Reflection of Prague State Opera’s Performance of Verdi’s...
Prague State Opera s March 12th performance of Verdi s Rigoletto was one of great power and
emotion. Though the opera was sung in Italian and subtitles were only available in Czech, the
language barrier did not hinder enjoyment of the performance in any way. Throughout the entire
opera, the emotions were portrayed brilliantly and could be felt by the audience. The opera begins
with a short prelude that continues as a main theme throughout the entire opera. In contrast to the
rather solemn prelude, Act 1 begins with upbeat dance music. The Duke begins flirting with Countess
Ceprano with the first song Questa o quella. The strophic form and simple tune portray the
shallowness of the Duke. The song reflects the Duke s idea that all women are the same and his lack
of moral character. Count Monterone then enters the scene very distraught because his daughter was
seduced by the Duke. He begins singing Voi congiuraste which has a lurching, jumpy quality about it.
He then curses both the Duke and Rigoletto. As Rigoletto walks home, he is approached by
Sparafucile, an assassin, who offers his services. Rigoletto then begins an aria reflecting on his current
situation and his similarity to the assassin. The string and woodwinds help to convey the solemn mood
and we begin the to see the depth beyond Rigoletto s facade. When Rigoletto enters his home he is
greeted by his daughter Gilda. Afraid that the courtiers will discover her, Rigoletto then tells his
daughter not to go outside

Animal Testing For Animals Essay
Innocent animals are thrust into the horrors of war every battle humans create. These non human
creatures are cruelly experimented with excruciating weapons, used as meat shields to protect soldiers,
and fight for no cause. The use of these animals is inhumane and atrocious. Animals should not be
used for war as long as the military s current methods of experimentation, speciesism, and involuntary
usage of the animals are to be continued. Firstly; Each year thousands of animals perish by cause of
military experiments, with humane, cost effective, accurate alternatives available. In their research
labs, numerous species of animals including amphibians, goats, pigs, and non human primates are
subject to testing used to study the effects of combat casualty trauma, radiation exposure, conventional
weapons, and many more. For example, in Combat Trauma Training, goats´ limbs are amputated to
cause bleeding and hemorrhaging. Rats have been submerged in boiling water for 10 seconds, and had
the burns infected. Medical Training consists of treating gunshot wounds, tissue damage, burns, and
other painful injuries caused by the labs. An example of a humane alternative is an Artificial Human

Introduction of Antarctic Krill
1. Introduction of Antarctic Krill
Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) is one of the most abundant organisms in southern ocean, with a
total biomass of hundreds millions of tons. It is a cold water species and they mainly feed on marine
algae. Their lifespan is five to six years and they can grow up to six centimeters long. Atlantic krill
start life as eggs that sink and hatch in spring. They develop though Nauplius, Metanauplius,
Calyptopis stages and reach the fourth stage furcilia by winter. Antarctic krill that hatch at the depth of
shallow Antarctic shelf (300 400 meters) can swim back to the surface water before winter. Therefore,
furcilia are able to survive the first winter by feeding on algae and a small portion of zooplankton on
the undersurface of pack ice before using up their stored supplies. Antarctic krill that hatch in water
deeper than 500 meters may starve before they are able to swim back to the surface and find food to
feed on.
Antarctic krill play a crucial role within the southern ocean food web. They feed primarily on
phytoplankton, especially small diatoms. They also feed on a lesser extent zooplankton, such as
copepods, amphipods and other small zooplankton. Living near the bottom of food chains and
converting the phytoplankton and zooplankton to a form suitable for larger animals, including fish,
penguins, seals and wales, they have been considered as an important trophic level connection. Other
popular organisms are not preferred food source

do so. Thus the title, How To Ruin A Relationship (Forever) For Dummies was born. For the short
story, A Doll s House, I would rename it as House Rules. The story is about Nora Helmer, and her role
as housewife. The plot centers on Nora Helmer s secret that she illegally borrowed money from

Hospital Birth Defects
Birth Defects Associated With Out Of Hospital Births
At a point in history, Homebirths and Midwives were prevalent when delivering. However; the use of
these two methods plateaued as many people were concerned with the health of the infants and the
mothers. The ultimate goal of delivery is the safety and protection of both the mother and the child.
For a time, and still to this day, women turned to hospitals to ensure that safety. However, as a new
wave of feminism has empowered mothers to take control of the natural birthing process, more and
more women are reverting back to the home birth method. Though homebirth goes smoothly for most
mothers, there is always the potential for complications that many mothers are not prepared to handle.

However, the best choice should be the one that achieves the ultimate goal of the safe delivery. The
statistics hold the records and can be paramount for a mother who wants to make the decision. The
figures indicate that birth at home is risky when compared to birth in the hospital mostly where there
are a delivery complications, and emergency services are needed. According to the Federal birth
registers, out of a thousand babies born at home, 3.9 would likely to have birth defects mostly
associated with delivery emergency and complications. On the other hand, the same statistics claim
that for the hospital based deliveries, only 1.8 of one thousand babies faced birth related defects
(Mathews, Curtin through Friday, 2015). The statists also point out that there is a high risk of
deficiency when the baby is born at home than when born in the hospital environment. The defects as
result of childbirth related complication are high in midwives attended birth than those delivery
process carried out in hospital when there is an emergency. Statisticians document 7 defects per one
thousand deliveries that have associated birth complications with deliveries attended by midwives.
According to the statistics done in the years 2016 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention,
the home delivery has gained favors than hospital delivery in the recent time. This implies that as

In most cases, your hair is cut around shoulder length, either a little above, or slightly below. The idea
is to create a significant amount of depth to the appearance of your hair, something that the hair stylist
will do after the initial cut is made.
Popularity of Medium Length Layered Haircuts
One of the primary reasons that this type of haircut is so popular with women is because it s easy to
maintain. Women with long hair may have to spend several hours washing their hair, drying it, and
getting it to a state of perfection. Although longer hair might provide a woman with more flair and
possibilities, long hair is more difficult to manage, and therefore medium length haircuts can
sometimes be preferable.
Women that cut their hair short might risk having a less feminine appearance. You need to have the
right facial shape in order to sport a shorter hairdo. The typical pixie cut that some women prefer
usually looks better with a more rounded face. However, in the end, it really comes down to how
much work you want to put into your hair. The medium length layered hairdo, therefore, is a happy
medium for those that want to have more style options, yet will have less hair to manage on a daily

How Connection is Essential to Resonance: A Comparison of Black Elk Speaks and Bury My Heart at

Beginning hundreds of years ago, Native Americans experienced an invasion. Perpetrated first by
European explorers, then conquerors, and, finally, colonists, the first people to inhabit the Americas
experienced a devastation of their land, culture, and dignity from people who hungered for their land
and resources. Despite these tribulations, the Native American identity could never truly be destroyed.

Oglala Sioux tribe of what is now primarily South Dakota. Neihardt s approach of simply listening to
Black Elk as he told his story in his native tongue and then seeking translation granted Black Elk the
autonomy of his expression and brought to the table realism tinged with mysticism, a representation of
the Native American experience in a manner not intruded by commentary or analysis. Speaking
broadly yet focally, Black Elk communicated the ruination of North America and the maltreatment of
its original inhabitants:
Once we were happy in our own country and we were seldom hungry, for then the two leggeds and the
four leggeds lived together like relatives ... But then the Wasichus came, and they have made little
islands for us and other little islands for the four leggeds, and always these islands are becoming
smaller, for around them surges the gnawing flood of the Wasichu, and it is dirty with lies and greed
(Neihardt 8).
These islands, this flood, these lies described by Black Elk are emphasized throughout the
development of his life as he tells his personal story and relates it to the broadness of this devastation.

during which he had the revelation that propelled him forward and offered to him the doorway to his

Immigration Reform Of Hispanic Immigration
Immigration of Latinos has long caused cultural conflict, especially when it comes to the illegal
immigration of Latinos. Unfortunately, the issue has long been debated and there seems to be no clear
cut answer on how to resolve the problem. Many Americans often overlook the struggles that Latinos
endure and place stereotypes upon this group of people that are untrue. Furthermore, most Americans
are misinformed or uninformed about the other side of this hot issue. The purpose of this essay is to
give the reader a better understanding of Latino immigration from a cultural perspective and what
these immigrants, both legal and illegal experience when relocating to a new country as well as a brief

as of July 1, 2013, there are roughly 54 million Latinos living in the United States, representing
approximately 17% of the U.S. total population, making people of Latino origin the nation s largest
ethnic or race minority. About 11.7 million immigrants are living in the United States illegally, a
population that has not varied much over the last three years, but has been recently increasing again,
according to new estimates (United States).

Advantech. Dane now lives where I grew up in Moab, Utah. Moab, being a small town everyone is
pretty tight knit and that is how I had the opportunity to talk with Dane on the phone for this project.
Growing up my dad was always a busy business person. I remember ever since I was younger I
wanted to become a business owner just like him. He was a very helpful man with big dreams and
now that I am grown up I see myself in that man day to day.
This memo summarizes the extent knowledge Dane has in entrepreneurship as well as great advice he

In interviewing Dane Brewer he informed me on his education. He graduated from the University of

work. This degree is all about electricity to power to how to design computers. To complete this
degree Dane spent four years and one summer in school.
The first three years of college Dane worked for Utah Power and Light (Rocky Mountain Power).
While he was working for them he read about a scientist of the name Dr. Thomas Stockum Jr.
Stockum created the first audio recorded and Dane was extremely interested in this because he loved
music. When Dane was a senior he went to the company Stockum was running and practically begged
for a job as a janitor just to get his foot in the door. The

John Donne and W; T Comparative Essay
A text is essentially a product of its context, as its prevailing values are inherently derived by the
author from society. However, the emergence of post modern theories allows for audience
interpretation, thus it must be recognised that meaning in texts can be shaped and reshaped.
Significantly, this may occur as connections between texts are explored. These notions are reflected in
the compostion of Edson s W;t and Donne s poetry as their relationship is established through
intertextual references, corresponding values and ideas and the use of language features. Edson
particularly portrays key values surrounding the notions of the importance of loved based
relationships, and death and resurrection: central themes of Donne s Holy Sonnets ... Show more

A possible passage through the American continent to the indies was earnestly being explored just as
the poet s body was probably being probed and prodded to seek enlightenment or a successful path.
This analogy is made clear by the clever extended pun on straits as both a trade route and a personal
dilemma. They are itemised so that the link is not missed for the Western Sea, to which all the straits
led, also represents death and entry into the next life: So death doth touch the Resurrection Likewise
to John Donne, Edison engages with the concept of death and what, if anything comes after it. While
Bearing does not openly ponder what comes after death in the play, she is tangibly struggling with the
fear of death. Her own feelings are mirrored by Donne s If poisnous minerals is shown through her
analysis. In her analysis she says, Donne finds God s forgiveness hard to believe, so he crawls under a
rock to hide. Rather than trust God s mercy I want to hide. I just want to curl up into a little ball.
Donne s poem If Poisonous Minerals has a direction relationship to the The Runaway Bunny read by
Bearing in her childhood. It provides for her an allegory for God s mercy allowing her to

Coleman And Gouaux Serotonin Case Study
In this paper, Coleman and Gouaux investigate how to inhibit serotonin reuptake specifically in three
antidepressants: sertraline, fluvoxamine, and paroxetine. While it is known that an allosteric site on
the serotonin transporter can be blocked to prevent the reuptake of serotonin, the problem is little is
known about how exactly these ligands are able to bind and prevent the reuptake of serotonin.
Coleman and Gouaux attempt to answer this mystery by pushing sertraline, fluvoxamine, and
paroxetine to bind to the serotonin transporter and then by analyzing X ray structures of these
inhibitors bounded to the transporters.
Background:
Depression is a mental illness categorized by strong feelings of sadness and cognitive changes that can
alter a person s ability to function normally. While research is still being done on what exactly triggers
depression in the brain, a hypothesis on one of the physical causes of feeling depressed is a serotonin
imbalance in the brain. Serotonin is a monoamine neurotransmitter that produces the good feelings in
the brain. Two problems are present in people with depression: either the brain is not producing
enough serotonin or the serotonin transporters are retaking the serotonin too ... Show more content on

Language In My Fair Lady
Abstract:
A language is a system of conventional signals used for communication by a whole community A. C.
Gimson. Language is an essential tool for communication as well as for self expression. Language can
be considered as a habit which is not genetically transmitted. It is acquired from the environment and
therefore it is always subject to change. Language and linguistics go hand in hand. Language is a
network of varieties and linguistics is the discipline that deals with the scientific study of language and
its variations like dialect, registers, pidgin, Creole, etc.
The purpose of this study is to explore the importance of the movie My Fair Lady in the study of
Linguistics. My Fair Lady is directed by George Cukor and it is adapted ... Show more content on

A simple example for the above statement is a comparison between a news covered by a news channel
and a newspaper. The news covered by the news channel would be more influential as it includes the
video clips along with the news scrolls and the reporter s narration, which creates an effect on the
audience that makes them feel as if they are witnessing the incident live, whereas, the one covered by
the newspaper will simply act as third person narrative to the audience. Similarly, there are many text
books and reference books that deal with the study of linguistics. But the movie My Fair Lady is an
excellent example, that gives the students of linguistics an idea about the benefits of learning it
properly and that gives the teachers of linguistics an idea about how to teach it effectively.
This study will work on understanding how the movie My Fair Lady depicts the power and beauty of
the English language through the life of a linguist and his student and the impact it has on the study of
linguistics. It will also analyze how different researchers have viewed this movie as a helpful tool in
the study of linguistics. The content analysis is done on the story of the movie My Fair Lady, the play
Pygmalion, written by George Bernard Shaw, from which the story of the movie is adapted, a website
and a research paper. The researcher has done an expert interview too, of a professor who deals with

The Dancer Parache
The Dancer Parache is a beautiful bust watercolor painting by José Tapiró y Baró. It showcases a
profile of a dark skinned man in a headdress made of fabric and clams. The detail in the face and the
shading really bring the painting to life. José Tapiró y Baró was deeply interested in other cultures and
spent a few years in North Africa painting and exploring his surroundings, before officially settling
down in Tangier. The beauty he found in Tangier and Morocco is clearly seen in this painting and in
all of his other beautiful paintings too. He was not afraid or deterred to paint a culture completely
different from his own and he captures it so well it takes my breath away. The Dancer Parache is a
great piece of artwork that displays an exquisite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Maalem, or master musician, plays the guembri (also known as a sintir or hajhouj), a three
stringed bass lute tuned to an octave and a fifth. (I am not musically inclined, but I watched a lot of
videos demonstrating this playing technique and it is incredibly interesting.) Most of the troop play
krakebs, large iron castanets, and a few play the tbel, a large deep drum. The fast rhythms of the
krakeb is essential for inducing the trance state. (Think about our techno, trance and electronic music
of today, which generally features fast pulsating bass rhythms similar to the sound of the Krakeb).
Chanting is also used in a call and response manner to exaggerate the healing process. The Malaam

Cache Valley Settlement
Throughout Cache Valley s early history one learns about the exploration and settlement of Cache
Valley and understands the developing and settling of Cache Valley s towns. While studying the
history of Cache Valley, many accounts report the settling of different towns such as Wellsville,
Logan, and Richmond. These early pioneer towns in Cache Valley, while each crucial to the growth
and development of the valley, grew not only for similar purposes but each had a different
contribution to Cache Valley s growth and development. The town of Franklin, however, next to the
Utah Idaho border in Cache Valley, aided in the settlement of both Cache Valley and the territory of
Idaho. Throughout the early settlement and founding of Franklin, Idaho this ... Show more content on

These early years of Franklin were a model of how Mormon and Cache Valley settlements developed
both in the ways in which land became divided, and how city lots measured out to (approximately 1 ¼
acres) accommodate a garden, barn, and outbuildings. While recollecting the simple life of Franklin s
early years, Joshua Hawkes said that the prospect appeared good...our house was but a log one and not
that very stylish. I put in a small crop of wheat and had some volunteers which made us an ample
amount for the season. In the center of the fort stood a bowery where formal worship services and
council meetings took place as well as a community well, and corral to conceal cattle from night time
Indian raids and attacks from wild animals. Besides these, every man also had a cane lot east of town,
on which he raised sugar cane, along with hay lands lying south and west of town, near the cemetery.
Broom corn was also later grown east of town, in which the corn and stalks were turned into
homemade brooms. Early settlers such as Everett C. Van Orden, became attracted to pasture lands
west of Franklin. Later with the Homestead Law being placed in Lewiston, and in 1869 a land office
being established in Salt Lake City it made it possible for others to occupy land legally with a five
year residence required for ownership. As a result of the Homestead Law and Franklin s available
land, families such as the Van Orden s claimed up to 160 acres of land in Lewiston,

Purpose Of Child Discipline
Everyone knows the purpose of child discipline. Parents need to set boundaries for their children and
punish them when they cross the line. Children who do not have these boundaries set for them grow
up with no respect for authority, and likely little to no respect for God. That s why discipline is
important. Proverbs 13:24, He who spares the rod Hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to
discipline him. The Bible clearly says that if someone loves their child they will discipline them.
Hebrews 12:11, For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the
peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. The Bible says that discipline is
painful in the moment but good things will come from it. God is quick to discipline us and he loves us
more that anyone in this world. So, showing good discipline isn t an action of hate (as some people
think today) it is an action of love. Proverbs 23:13 14, Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you
strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.
The Bible says here that discipline will not kill a child but will save the child s soul. Proverbs 22:6,
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Here the
Bible says that if you train and discipline a child early is life they will remember is forever. Whether
someone is a Christian or not, they can agree that the

Stephen Glass In The Film Shattered Glass
Who is Stephen Glass? Is he trustworthy and truthful or manipulative and deceitful? After watching
the film Shattered Glass, the viewer is able to grasp a greater understanding of the central character in
this film, Stephen Glass, and answer this question once and for all. Glass is considered an extremely
kind, unique, manipulative, and, overall, interesting character. In the beginning of the movie, his
coworkers in the office fall in love with him, making him everyone s favorite. Abruptly, everything
goes downhill. Glass finds himself shifting from the New Republic s key to success, to the biggest
downfall of the company; all within the matter of a few days. Although he is extremely likable, he

One little mistake ended up exposing him completely, landing him with no job and no friends who
have his back. Stephen Glass published his biggest article yet, Hack Heaven , where he falsely
reported an immense amount of information. He claimed that he was present at the event taking place
regarding a hacker convention, but in reality he was not. In fact, none of it was true, every single detail
he wrote in the article was fake news. Glass argued that he acquired enough information from other
random sources he came across, leading him to believe nobody would find out if he had no personal
fact to back up the information himself. He made up fake people, quoted them, referenced different
nonexistent companies, and participated in other unethical actions. Everything began deteriorating
when a man named Adam Penenberg, a writer for another newspaper, dug further into Glass story.
Starting as theories, Penenberg and his co worker Andy Fox built up a case and began supporting it
with facts, finally becoming confident with the fact that Stephen Glass fabricated the entire piece,
Hack Heaven . Facts such as dates and times did not match up with Glass statements and neither did
websites and phone numbers. For example, Penenberg told Stephen Glass that the website for one of
the sources that he mentioned in his article, Juke Micronics, was not believable. He said, Quite

Joy Womack Biography
I d like to contribute to this post because I have been following for a long time. Before I go on to
anything critical, I have to say I watch Joy Womack s vlogs every day and am highly appreciative of
the window into her life. Whether or not we all agree on her choices, she is sharing something unique
and is making her dreams come true before our very eyes.
I have actually followed her story since I came across the New York Times coverage on youtube when
she was fifteen. Back then she was so fascinating and just absorbed everything the Russian school was
giving her. Now she is older and more experienced, we are perhaps more inclined to think negatively
about her given the past few years events; an adult no longer a child.
I enjoy watching her dance, though I do see inconsistencies in her performances, depending on her
state of mind. I find her technique solid and highly classical, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She does seem to make some questionable choices with exactly how much she shares, things that
might jeopardize her professionalism, but nothing seems to have impacted her negatively yet. It does
give us something to talk about though, that we wouldn t otherwise know.
I am a bit dubious about her exhaustive self promotion. Most dancers do not share this desire, but I
like to think it is part of her creative side sharing her art with the world, as opposed to anything else.
I would also remind her prima friends how in control she is of what she actually shares with us. She
doesn t edit out falls or slips but there are times she cuts footage abruptly mid movement; the only
reason I can think is because of something she doesn t want us to see. I can t blame a dancer for
wanting us to see them at their best, but you can t have it both ways. You have to either share
everything or don t claim to. She also seems all over the place with her attitude to her

Analyzing Women in Abusive Relationships
One can be harmed socially from an abusive relationship. With women, abuse in a prior relationship
can lead to difficulty committing to someone in a new relationship. Abuse can also develop trust
issues. This not only negatively affects relationships in regards to dating people, but friendships and
relationships with family members, and other people. Thankfully there are many resources for males
and females to use if they ve been abused in a relationship. However, if one has developed trust issues,
it may also be difficult for them to open up not only to people who they ve had prior relationships with
of different types, but also new people. Sending someone for counseling that was in an abusive
relationship can only help if the person who was abused is willing to open up to the counselor. A
person who was abused may not be willing to speak about how they were abused because they are
embarrassed or scared. Many other factors can lead to one not wanting to open up. One can be
impacted physically from an emotional relationship in many negative ways. Bruises, cuts, and broken
bones are all common from physical abuse. Males and females who were abused sexually may
experience pain during sexual intercourse in the area of their genitals. Some people who are abused
use things such as alcohol, drugs, or tobacco to help them cope. All of these choices can negatively
impact one s physical state. Medical conditions such as heart disease can be brought on from physical
abuse in the

Identifying Symbols Using Foster s Teachings
Identifying Symbols Using Foster s teachings
Using Foster s How to Read Literature like a Professor Friendly Beasts in Undertale. In the book How
to Read Literature like a Professor by Thomas Foster the reader is taught to examine texts in order to
find additional meaning. In any text, one can find symbols to better identify meaning. Text can be a
movie, book, game, or anything that tells a story. Symbols are tools an author uses so a reader can
analyze a text to gain a greater understanding of of characters, messages, events, or even the story
itself. One example of a symbol is a friendly beast. A friendly beast is a character archetype when
something, often an animal, helps a hero advance in his quest. One text where this symbol is ... Show

death. However, she inadvertently prepared Frisk for his advent to the monster world by leaving the
child alone to let the hero s curiosity wonder about, teaching Frisk to solve problems.Without her the
story would have ended with the child and its quest being smote before it even began. This section
almost served as a prologue, preparing the player for the road to come. She helped the character see
that not all monsters are evil, and that they all are free thinking and can be spared. This lesson opens
up the story and the character s choice to befriend or to betray. After parting ways with Toriel, the next
helpful monster our character runs into is a Skeleton named Papyrus. Papyrus is a funny character
with little common sense. He desires to be in the royal guard and to have friends, but struggles with

Creative Teacher Research Paper
When I first started creative writing, I knew only two things about the teacher: she had purple and
gray hair and she was an ex marine. She walked into class and looked appalled that we had the

desks in a circle. It was right then and there that I wondered what the heck I had gotten myself into.
My creative writing teacher is by far the teacher who has had the most impact on my life. She is a

  • 2. Hi I M Alfie Research Paper Hi, I m Alfie. I m looking for a loving forever home that will stick with me through the good and bad. I love spending most of my day indoors in the company of men, women, and possibly even older children, where I can pretty much chill out and lounge around. I am prone to alert bark, and I may have a subtle protective streak in me. However once I know that the stranger is okay around my family my friendly side shines through. I m a very curious guy and am interested in all that goes on around me and I miss very little. In my previous home I was an inside dog, so as a result, I am completely housetrained. Even though, I love spending most of my time indoors, I would really like it if my next home had a big back yard where I could spend a few ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010). John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody (deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the factor that ... • 4. Oriental Art Essay Oriental Art Oriental art is very distinct from other parts of the world. In their sculptures they still used such materials as clay, wood, and bronzes. However their art work promoted such things as goodness in nature, serenity, graceful balance, spiritual perfection, and a mystical harmony within themselves. There work avoided confusion, conflict and violent emotions at all costs. New or unprecedented experiments in their art work was never welcomed, and the expression of nobility and inner worth where demanded. Ultimately oriental art was said to be a way of being , but to understand this you must look at the words of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius who said Raise yourself to the beautiful. However not all Oriental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Shang people came into history half way through the second millennium B.C., these people also lived in pounded earth settlements, and made funeral vessels. These people established the li which was the basic metallic shape used in their bronzes. Not only was the li used, but also other shapes have been discovered. In recent excavations, thousands of different vessels have been found, however it is possible to distinguish about forty basic shapes of the vessels. Each vessel served a different purpose in sacrifice or funeral ceremonies. Some where used for wine and water, some for storing foods, while others where used for cooking meats. The Shang dynasty have left some sculptures as original and different as there bronzes. However none of the large statue survived excavations. The importance of the excavations cannot be overemphasized. Who would have imagined an ancient culture so rich that they actually created stone sculptures, wheel made pottery, carved jade, and bronzes, which have never been surpassed. Too often when people speak of Oriental art they think that both China and Japan developed in the same way and the same time. This statement however is false, and the Japanese art did not start till several years after Chinese art did. The first forms of Japanese art can be looked at through the Jomon people, who where nomadic hunters and fishers. A number of human figurines and fertility gods have been found, also ... • 5. An Absolute Athenian Tragedy Analysis An absolute Athenian tragedy. The Sicilian Expedition of 413 415 BC was a decision that ultimately lead to the complete exhaustion of Athenian manpower, navy, and crucial resources. This decimation weakened the confidence of not only the Athenians, but of their allies as well. Within the long and tiring story of the Peloponnesian War, it is the Sicilian Expedition in which leadership stands as a vital factor in the end result. Besides the Athenians, Spartans did their job along side the Syracusans to excel in this historic battle. The well regarded Spartan leader Gylippus was able to execute on his part given the poor decision made my Athens to invade Sicily as well as its richest city, Syracuse.Varying decisions from Athenian leaders such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You see, a huge factor rises in the end of this predicament. The advance of the Roman empire, along with the fate of the Western World, were essentially saved by the destruction of the Athenians at the island of Sicily. I firmly claim this because if the expedition were to result positively for the Athenians, themselves and all of Greece would have landed on a a goldmine in regards to fertile land which is Sicily. All of Italy and beyond would have been under the heel of Greece and not of Rome. For the lands such as North Africa, Iberia, and Gaul conquered by the Romans could potentially have been done by Greeks. The influential defeat at Syracuse ended the great empire known as Greece and history was shifted for the ages. After that battle, the Peloponnesian war would go on for another ten years. From that point forward, Greece was mismanaged and misguided by many men who made attempt to lead. Allies across Greece separated and the democracy in which this empire stood would crumble and fall victim to an oligarchy. The Athenian expedition in Sicily exemplified Athens as a tyrant looking to crush the allied thoughts that dared to stand against it. On a final note the expeditions greatest journalist, Thucydides, explains the extent of the reckoning. He states, This was the greatest Hellenic action that took place during this war, and, in my opinion, the greatest action that we know of in Hellenic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Reflection of Prague State Opera’s Performance of Verdi’s... Prague State Opera s March 12th performance of Verdi s Rigoletto was one of great power and emotion. Though the opera was sung in Italian and subtitles were only available in Czech, the language barrier did not hinder enjoyment of the performance in any way. Throughout the entire opera, the emotions were portrayed brilliantly and could be felt by the audience. The opera begins with a short prelude that continues as a main theme throughout the entire opera. In contrast to the rather solemn prelude, Act 1 begins with upbeat dance music. The Duke begins flirting with Countess Ceprano with the first song Questa o quella. The strophic form and simple tune portray the shallowness of the Duke. The song reflects the Duke s idea that all women are the same and his lack of moral character. Count Monterone then enters the scene very distraught because his daughter was seduced by the Duke. He begins singing Voi congiuraste which has a lurching, jumpy quality about it. He then curses both the Duke and Rigoletto. As Rigoletto walks home, he is approached by Sparafucile, an assassin, who offers his services. Rigoletto then begins an aria reflecting on his current situation and his similarity to the assassin. The string and woodwinds help to convey the solemn mood and we begin the to see the depth beyond Rigoletto s facade. When Rigoletto enters his home he is greeted by his daughter Gilda. Afraid that the courtiers will discover her, Rigoletto then tells his daughter not to go outside ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Animal Testing For Animals Essay Innocent animals are thrust into the horrors of war every battle humans create. These non human creatures are cruelly experimented with excruciating weapons, used as meat shields to protect soldiers, and fight for no cause. The use of these animals is inhumane and atrocious. Animals should not be used for war as long as the military s current methods of experimentation, speciesism, and involuntary usage of the animals are to be continued. Firstly; Each year thousands of animals perish by cause of military experiments, with humane, cost effective, accurate alternatives available. In their research labs, numerous species of animals including amphibians, goats, pigs, and non human primates are subject to testing used to study the effects of combat casualty trauma, radiation exposure, conventional weapons, and many more. For example, in Combat Trauma Training, goats´ limbs are amputated to cause bleeding and hemorrhaging. Rats have been submerged in boiling water for 10 seconds, and had the burns infected. • 10. Introduction of Antarctic Krill 1. Introduction of Antarctic Krill Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) is one of the most abundant organisms in southern ocean, with a total biomass of hundreds millions of tons. It is a cold water species and they mainly feed on marine algae. Their lifespan is five to six years and they can grow up to six centimeters long. Atlantic krill start life as eggs that sink and hatch in spring. They develop though Nauplius, Metanauplius, Calyptopis stages and reach the fourth stage furcilia by winter. Antarctic krill that hatch at the depth of shallow Antarctic shelf (300 400 meters) can swim back to the surface water before winter. Therefore, furcilia are able to survive the first winter by feeding on algae and a small portion of zooplankton on the undersurface of pack ice before using up their stored supplies. Antarctic krill that hatch in water deeper than 500 meters may starve before they are able to swim back to the surface and find food to feed on. Antarctic krill play a crucial role within the southern ocean food web. They feed primarily on phytoplankton, especially small diatoms. They also feed on a lesser extent zooplankton, such as copepods, amphipods and other small zooplankton. Living near the bottom of food chains and converting the phytoplankton and zooplankton to a form suitable for larger animals, including fish, penguins, seals and wales, they have been considered as an important trophic level connection. • 34. Purpose Of Child Discipline Everyone knows the purpose of child discipline. Parents need to set boundaries for their children and punish them when they cross the line. Children who do not have these boundaries set for them grow up with no respect for authority, and likely little to no respect for God. That s why discipline is important. Proverbs 13:24, He who spares the rod Hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. The Bible clearly says that if someone loves their child they will discipline them. Hebrews 12:11, For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. The Bible says that discipline is painful in the moment but good things will come from it. God is quick to discipline us and he loves us more that anyone in this world. So, showing good discipline isn t an action of hate (as some people think today) it is an action of love. Proverbs 23:13 14, Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol. The Bible says here that discipline will not kill a child but will save the child s soul. Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Here the Bible says that if you train and discipline a child early is life they will remember is forever. Whether someone is a Christian or not, they can agree that the ... After watching the film Shattered Glass, the viewer is able to grasp a greater understanding of the central character in this film, Stephen Glass, and answer this question once and for all. In the beginning of the movie, his coworkers in the office fall in love with him, making him everyone s favorite. Abruptly, everything goes downhill. One little mistake ended up exposing him completely, landing him with no job and no friends who have his back. Stephen Glass published his biggest article yet, Hack Heaven , where he falsely reported an immense amount of information. He claimed that he was present at the event taking place regarding a hacker convention, but in reality he was not. In fact, none of it was true, every single detail he wrote in the article was fake news. Glass argued that he acquired enough information from other random sources he came across, leading him to believe nobody would find out if he had no personal fact to back up the information himself. He made up fake people, quoted them, referenced different nonexistent companies, and participated in other unethical actions. Everything began deteriorating when a man named Adam Penenberg, a writer for another newspaper, dug further into Glass story. Starting as theories, Penenberg and his co worker Andy Fox built up a case and began supporting it with facts, finally becoming confident with the fact that Stephen Glass fabricated the entire piece, Hack Heaven . Facts such as dates and times did not match up with Glass statements and neither did websites and phone numbers. For example, Penenberg told Stephen Glass that the website for one of the sources that he mentioned in his article, Juke Micronics, was not believable. He said, Quite frankly, it ... • 36. Joy Womack Biography I d like to contribute to this post because I have been following for a long time. Before I go on to anything critical, I have to say I watch Joy Womack s vlogs every day and am highly appreciative of the window into her life. Whether or not we all agree on her choices, she is sharing something unique and is making her dreams come true before our very eyes. I have actually followed her story since I came across the New York Times coverage on youtube when she was fifteen. Back then she was so fascinating and just absorbed everything the Russian school was giving her. Now she is older and more experienced, we are perhaps more inclined to think negatively about her given the past few years events; an adult no longer a child. I enjoy watching her dance, though I do see inconsistencies in her performances, depending on her state of mind. I find her technique solid and highly classical, ... She does seem to make some questionable choices with exactly how much she shares, things that might jeopardize her professionalism, but nothing seems to have impacted her negatively yet. It does give us something to talk about though, that we wouldn t otherwise know. I am a bit dubious about her exhaustive self promotion. Most dancers do not share this desire, but I like to think it is part of her creative side sharing her art with the world, as opposed to anything else. I would also remind her prima friends how in control she is of what she actually shares with us. She doesn t edit out falls or slips but there are times she cuts footage abruptly mid movement; the only reason I can think is because of something she doesn t want us to see. I can t blame a dancer for wanting us to see them at their best, but you can t have it both ways. You have to either share everything or don t claim to. She also seems all over the place with her attitude to her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the book How to Read Literature like a Professor by Thomas Foster the reader is taught to examine texts in order to find additional meaning. In any text, one can find symbols to better identify meaning. Text can be a movie, book, game, or anything that tells a story. Symbols are tools an author uses so a reader can analyze a text to gain a greater understanding of of characters, messages, events, or even the story itself. However, she inadvertently prepared Frisk for his advent to the monster world by leaving the child alone to let the hero s curiosity wonder about, teaching Frisk to solve problems.Without her the story would have ended with the child and its quest being smote before it even began. This section almost served as a prologue, preparing the player for the road to come. She helped the character see that not all monsters are evil, and that they all are free thinking and can be spared. This lesson opens up the story and the character s choice to befriend or to betray. • 40. Creative Teacher Research Paper When I first started creative writing, I knew only two things about the teacher: she had purple and gray hair and she was an ex marine. She walked into class and looked appalled that we had the audacity to sit in five perfectly straight rows of five chairs. The first thing she made us do was put our desks in a circle. It was right then and there that I wondered what the heck I had gotten myself into. My creative writing teacher is by far the teacher who has had the most impact on my life. She is a realist and understood that not everything in life was all good and fine. Real life is gritty, she would say. Let your writing reflect that. Before that, there was always a set of rules to follow in writing: no cursing, no violence, no true depictions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
