Roles And Mission Of The Counselor
Roles and Mission The counselor may play various roles, at several levels, i.e. the counselor may be
an educator to the client, the counselor may be a type of mentor offering advice and guidance on
specific issues, and also engage in other roles. The counselor may also act as an advocate for a client
whose cultural background is significantly different than the environment he or she may currently be
in, by ensuring that the client is treated with the same respect and given the same opportunities as
others. The client s social and cultural context is significant because it reveals to the counselor who the
client is, where the client is from, the traditions and values of the client, among many other things.
With this knowledge of the client, the counselor is able to obtain specialized interventions which will
assist them with the issues they are encountering therefore their situations and themselves can
improve. An advocate is an individual who acts as intermediary to foster change to unlimited access,
enhance awareness to inequalities, and promote accountability on the individual, communal, and
statewide level. Within the counseling field, most counselors, although they may not be aware, act as
social justice advocates on the behalf of their clients when linking or representing the client in
different settings. In the article titled, Relationship Between a Belief in a Just World and Social Justice
Advocacy Attitudes of School Counselors, the authors suggests that ... school

Jousting Before The Nineteenth Century
Jousting dates back to the 11th century. Before the real jousting, they had all out melee tournaments
where there were no rules or restrictions, and any weapons are allowed. It then became more
organized, and you could only attack with three tilts of the lance or three strokes of the sword, and the
same for both battle axe and mace. Before the 14th century, knights tried to kill the opponents, but
now they do not.
The more modern jousts began in the 14th century, when many members of nobility wanted a way to
show their courage, skill, and strength. Nobles required royal permits to fight and some hired knights
to joust for them. Heralds would promote by spreading news of tournaments, singing songs, and
writing poems for the jousters. If opposing sides in the war were fighting, knights from each side
would seek to face each other for honor off the battlefields. Jousting was a type of duel. When
chivalry was introduced, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bigger the bribe, the more the judges may rule in your favor. You may fight for the honor of a
maiden, and it may not end till a knight is knocked off his horse. Also, a lady may give the knight a
favor for defending her. A favor could be anything from a handkerchief to a platinum charm.
One of the most famous jousters was King Richard the Lionheart. He is said to be 6 feet 5 inches tall
and had fiery red hair. He also is just as feared a ruler, as a jouster. It is said that only one man has
ever unhorsed him. Another famous Jouster was King Henry the 8th. His Jousting career ended early
due to head injuries. Research has shown that Jousting may have lead to his quick anger by killing his
6 wives.
In conclusion, Jousting went from a bloody free for all to a gentleman s sport. Honor and respect were
mutual between the Knights. Jousts were a time to show your courage, skill and strength. Jousting is
still done today; you could say it s one of the oldest sports

Review Of Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus
Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus or Pliny the Younger was a roman aristocrat at the height of the Pax
Romana. The Pax Romana was a time of stability and peace throughout the roman empire. There was
very minimal military activity. His letters give us a view into the perspective of the roman aristocrat as
well as an insight into roman society. The letters also give a perspective of the lives of roman women
during this time. Roman society was a very patriarchal during the Pax Romana and women were
considered much less important than men. This is apparent in his letters. There are very few accounts
in Pliny s letters that go into detail about the women of these times. The letters that do include female
characters are about aristocrats dominantly and give us only a biased snapshot of how they interact
within roman society. The character that we have the most to go on is Culpurnia. Calpurnia is the
granddaughter of Calpurnius Fabitus and wife of Pliny the Younger. In his letters he describes
Calpurnia as becoming well adjusted to her role as Pliny s wife. You are a model of family devotion,
and you loved your brother, matching his deep regard for you with equal affection. You love his
daughter as if she was your own, and to her you re enact the fondness not only of an aunt, but also that
of the father she lost (4,19). Calpurnia was everything Pliny could ask for in a wife. He extolled her
intelligence, her devotion, and her expertise at looking after their home. She is

Themes in Mircea Eliade s The Sacred and the Profane
Mircea Eliade s The Sacred and the Profane analyzes a wide variety of components that are found
within various world religions. Eliade uses the history of religion to support his ideas as the the book
itself is a brief introduction to religion as a whole, particulary the religions of primitive societies.
Nonetheless, when looking to the past one can see that mankind s desire to associate itself with the
sacred has been occuring for thousands of years. From temples to passages of intiation, religious man
is a unique microcosm that follows and repeats the structure of the religious macrocosm, the creation
of the cosmos. One can conclude that Eliade views religion as the paradigmatic solution for every
existential crisis. (p210) and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The participation in these events and overall repetition enforces the religious content and provides an
optimistic vision of existence and eventual transcendence for the participant. It provides a break from
a temporal and profane duration of time and into a sacred time of importance and meaning for a
religion and its followers. Religious experience then would fall into the personal realm of man himself
and how he perceives the world around him. Nature provides a chief component in primitive religious
man s view of the cosmos and his gods. The sky houses the gods, remote although it may be, natural
phenomenon such as thunder and rain gave primitive and early religious man the reasoning to place
his gods above him in the intangible heavens as such natural occurrences were due in part to the
supernatural beings dwelling in the skies. Alongside the sky, the observation of the transition of the
moon and sun (night and day) signify death and rebirth. Water too plays a symbolic part in human
experience and although it has a powerful capability to destroy life, it also reiterates the cosmogonic
cycle, especially with the practice of baptism where water renews life. (p132) Earth itself is also
linked to the human experience of child birth with females. The idea of a Terra Mater or mother earth
(p138) symbolizes the idea of the earth reproducing its vegetation based life in comparison to the
experience of mother giving birth of her children.

The History Of Football
The smell of hot dogs, popcorn and pizza linger through the air as the Wolverine s den fills up with
faculty, family, and friends. As the other team runs off the battle field from practicing, the bright light
turns on. It is about to go down, minutes become seconds. No one knows what could happen out there
on the field. Bones could be broken, bodies will be thrown, and heads will be cracked. It all seems so
unreal, yet one knows it is only a couple of minutes away from becoming reality. During those
moments of realization, one hears the ringing sound of the coach s whistle, and the booming sound of
his voice yelling Let s Go! Running out from under the den through the tunnel, hearing the crowd roar

The locker rooms maybe the first thing one may see but it is not the only thing that makes the La
Vergne s stadium a noteworthy place. Secondly, the La Vergne stadium s atmosphere makes the
stadium a remarkable place. Through the eyes of a football player, the atmosphere of the stadium
shifts like the weather throughout the week. Starting with a typical Monday after a long day of school,
collecting a heavy load of homework, the stadium is partly filled with campus life. Cheerleaders
heading down to the track for their weekly run, cross country runners and JROTC Raiders zooming
around the track and stadium, while football players working out in the weight lifting room. After an
hour or so the stadium atmosphere dies down leaving the just the football players. In addition, not only
does the atmosphere of the campus life on Monday changes but the atmosphere of the locker room
changes as well. When walking into the locker room players cannot help but think of all that went
down game night, and try to improve on it, if necessary. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the atmosphere
is filled with anticipation and productivity for Friday night s game. The air thickens from the sweat
and dedication of players practicing on the field. Suddenly, it is Thursday; the fastest day of the week.
The stadium s atmosphere is loaded with suspense. Since it the last day of practice before game night,

The Face Of Lennon By John Lennon
The Face of Lennon Help! Help! Help! The Beatles faced plenty of highs and plenty of lows
throughout their careers, and the transition between each stage was always shaky and lined with
turmoil. Perhaps the most evident of these transitions was between the years of 1964 and 1965. In this
period, songs from A Hard Day s Night and Help! clearly show that John Lennon, a member of the
group since the very beginning, was facing difficult, emotional times. These three songs speak
volumes for the trouble that Lennon was going experiencing: You Can t Do That , You ve Got To Hide
Your Love Away , and It s Only Love . The first of these songs is the one that helps to set the stage for
next two: You Can t Do That . Released as a part of the album A Hard Day s Night in 1964, this song
is a product of Lennon s surroundings more than a product from Lennon himself. Having first touched
down in the United States on February 7, 1964, John fell in love with it all. Since Rock and Roll was
on its last leg in the States, the Beatles were welcomed with excitement and a wave of energy. Despite
only having stayed until February 22, Lennon was moved by the momentum the United States gave
them. Only three days later, the Beatles went on to record You Can t Do That on February 25. Written
by the ever impressionable John, this song clearly reflects the burst of energy brought about from the
trip to the States and his love for American Rock. This song uses the most basic and iconic percussive

Christmas Coal Mining Research Paper
Over the course of the mine being open, they advanced their technology to increase production and
keep up with the competition. The Christmas Coal Mine originally used small ponies to do the back
breaking work of pulling out loads of coal from within the mine (Luecke 1). No electric was used at
the mine until they purchased a generator. The generator didn t light up the whole tunnel; instead, it
ran a piece of equipment known as the , iron mule, or, electric mule. Bob Harpenau, Jacobs son,
stated, I can still remember one time sitting down there and here comes the iron mule. I thought that
damn thing was going to hit me, so I jumped back. It hit the curve and turned down the mine.

Machiavelli s Battles
In The Prince, Machiavelli uses many examples of battles and people to emphasize and illustrate his
points. He exalts some as examples of great leadership, and condemns others for their mistakes and
imperfections. Machiavelli, in the Prince, praises Philip of Macedon for fighting to hold onto his
country, and for holding onto most of his kingdom even after surrendering a few cities to Rome. His
purpose in doing this was to provide an example of a prince that did the opposite of the princes of
Italy, and to further reprimand the princes of Italy for allowing their kingdom to slip through their
fingers. And yet, Machiavelli only speaks on Philip s last war, and praises only his preparedness to go
to war, not mentioning the amount of power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Machiavelli were to place as much or more importance on the outcomes of a decision than the
theory a decision was made on, much of his novel would be different. For example, he would not have
praised Cesare Borgia, for although his theory was sound he was unable to adapt to changing
circumstances and was thus deposed. In the case of Philip V of Macedon, however, Machiavelli s
words may have been words of caution instead of outright condemnation had he placed any emphasis
upon the outcome of rule. It is clear that becoming too complacent is certainly no good for a prince,
and will almost certainly result in a dead or overthrown prince, and that is what Machiavelli
admonished the princes of Italy for. Philip of Macedon s excessive paranoia, however, may have been
his downfall. While it is true that it is impossible to ascertain exactly how Rome would have reacted
had Philip been more willing to compromise instead of outright attack the greater, and fast growing,
power, it seems fairly safe to say Philip may have lived out the rest of his days in greater peace and
perhaps sustained his line for much longer had he not been so quick to antagonize the Romans.
Therefore, had Machiavelli looked at Philip s rule in a more objective light, unskewed by the anger he
held towards the princes of Italy for letting their kingdom fall, this

Essay on Georgia OKeefe (includes annotated bibliography)
Georgia O Keefe (word count includes annotated bibliography)
Georgia O Keefe is a famous American painter who painted beautiful flowers and landscapes. But she
painted these images in such a way that many people believed she was portraying sexual imagery. O
Keefe s depictions of flowers in strict frontality and enlarged to giant scale were entirely original in
character . . . the view into the open blossoms evoked an image of the female psyche and invited erotic
associations. (Joachimides 47) O Keefe denies these allegations and says that she magnified the scale
of the flower only to ensure people would notice them. (Haskell 203) O Keefe s artwork was
misinterpreted because of cultural prejudice, her non traditional lifestyle, and ... Show more content on

When she began creating beautiful artwork in school and was being commended by other teachers and
students, she gained an incredible sense of self worth and put her painful childhood in the back of her
mind. (19) She grew up to be a very strong, independent person and she did not care if she was
judged, as long as she liked who she was. As a result of her father leaving when she was young, she
felt that males were not good enough for her and she developed a strong sense of feminism. In fact, for
awhile, Georgia explored her sexuality and dated predominantly women for a significant part of her
life. This factor did effect her painting, but not in a sexual way. She painted images that were close ups
, allowing you to see deep into them and to be close to them. She yearned to be close to someone but
was afraid to be hurt again. Georgia s non traditional lifestyle did affect her life, but did not force her
to create sexual female images. It may be more accurate to read her drawings as intimations of a less
literal and more profound view of reality. (Peters 29)
Georgia grew up in a time where people still had little respect for women. A woman s role was to stay
home and be a housekeeper. They had no self worth until they were married. So, when women started
to get jobs just like their husbands or lived their lives without a husband, people were shocked and
most looked down upon

Murder In The Media
The way the media sensationalizes murder has changed greatly since the death of Queen Victoria in
the early 20th century. However, the public s fascination with murder is still as strong as ever. The
infamous cases and trials of Case Anthony, OJ Simpson, and Amanda Knox captivated a world and
resulted in the commercial appeal of true crime. The commercialization of what society openly
proclaims as criminal begs for a curtail question to be asked. What makes this Victorian cultural trait
thrive in today society while other culture traits died out? Television and the internet are two
technological advances that have sustained the public s fascination with murder. Both of these sources
allow for a shift from a written format to visual display. Unlike the pre Victorian pastime of murder
sightseeing and the Victorian written format, television and the internet allow a merge of the tow to
accrue. A person can see the brutality of murder but still stay distanced at the same time, adding in it
appeal. Understanding why modern cultural embraces Storys of true crime is crucial in understanding
why the Victorians did the same. Scott Boons a professor of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Self Awareness And The Social Work
Self awareness and the use of self is a key component in social work practice. Depending upon how
one integrates their personal being and accompanying thoughts, experiences, emotions, and
consciousness into the helping profession has a profound impact on whether that integration is
positive or negative, particularly when it comes to that of one s relationships with their clients. While
remaining impartial is often critical to effective social work practice, the complete separation of self
from one s professional practice is not only impossible to realize, but would arguably have less of a
meaningful impact with one s relations with clients as well as self. Understanding the use of self and
the importance of self awareness in the social work profession is the first step in establishing a healthy
means of practicing and the impact that our own individuality has when interacting with clients. In this
paper I will analyze, and further critically reflect upon, four academic journals on the topic of the use
of self in social work; later applying this learning to an experience from my field placement.
In their article, The Integration of Personal and Professional Selves: Developing Students Critical
Awareness in Social Work Practice , Jay Marlowe, Cherie Appleton, Shirley Ann Chinnery, and
Stuibra Van Stratum (2015) interestingly explored the concepts of self awareness and use of self at the
stage immediately prefacing the career level. Focusing on third year social work

Planned Change Of Maternal Child Health
Planned Change in Maternal Child Health For many years organizations have faced challenges in
trying to promote interdisciplinary team collaboration and shared governance. Many have attempted
the trial and error method with the use of different nursing care delivery systems to meet the concerns
of our ever changing healthcare world. A shared governance model is one professional practice model
used to improve nursing practice through collaboration of nurses, patients, and other care providers.
This model encourages professionals to have a voice and represents an avenue where staff can get
involved in how nursing care is delivered, and furthermore promotes collaboration between
professionals. The Maternal Child Health (MCH) unit at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The professional nurse is an asset simply because much of what drives success within an organization
is the fruit of labor. In order for this continued performance to strive it is necessary that an
organization be designed to allow professionals to participate in the practice and help shape the
environment in which patient care occurs which ultimately brings us back to this notion of shared
governance.
The goal for SLMC is to have a unit based interdisciplinary design with the use of a Collaborative
Care Committee (CCC) as a vehicle in implementing shared governance, and increase
interdisciplinary team collaboration. According to Suby (2012), shared governance models create
decentralized systems in which decision making lies with bedside staff nurses whose role becomes the
source of innovative solutions; the managers role is one of facilitation and support to assist staff
nurses in changing practice to better care for the needs of the patient . This CCC will allow for staff
nurses and nursing management as well as providers to work together to promote autonomy,
accountability, leadership and empowerment, all of which are elements of shared governance and also
important factors to address when trying to improve quality of care.
Alignment with the Organization s Values
Having the Collaborative Care Committee at SLMC would positively impact the organization by
promoting working conditions where employees would be motivated and satisfied

Elastigirl Research Paper
Elastigirl is a very well known superhero in the movie, The Incredibles. She has the flexibility
superpower, and she can stretch any part of her body up to 100 (30 m) and to a minimum thickness of

invulnerability, meaning she can withstand large amounts of pain and discomfort. It is mind boggling
to think about how Elastigirl has these superpowers that she possesses. The only answer to this is
biology. Elastigirl has an evolved extraordinary body system, giving her the ability to do these
extraordinary things. Flexibility is the ability to stretch a joint to the limit of its range of movement.

For example, some joints in humans simply are not meant to be flexible, there is internal resistance
within a joint, there are bony structures which limit movement, the elasticity of muscle tissue differs
and muscle tissue that is scarred due to a previous injury is not very elastic. Also, the elasticity of
tendons and ligaments is very limited. Ligaments do not stretch much and tendons should not stretch
at all. The elasticity of skin actually has some degree of elasticity, but not much. Also, the temperature
of the joint and associated tissues are musically more flexible at body temperatures that are 1 to 2
degrees higher than normal. Unlike normal humans, Elastigirl has an evolved extraordinary body
system. There are many biological difficulties that Elastigirl would encounter if she did not have this

How Is Laertes Similar To Hamlet
Throughout the course of Hamlet, the character of Hamlet was involved in various circumstances that
placed him into a precarious position. He had to make a choice whether to act rashly and immediately
or ponder his options and act when he sees fit. Another character in the play, Laertes, was very similar
to Hamlet in many ways. However, they act like polar opposites. whatever Hamlet does, Laertes does
the opposite. They each react in their own opposite way of each other even though they have lived
similar lives and gone through similar events. And yet, it can be found that Laertes was more justified

this in the tail end of his famous to be, or not to be speech:

Immigration Assimilation
America is largely made up of immigrants, and thus it is referred to by many as an immigrant s nation.
The rise in immigrants of the first generation and those of second or third generation is changing the
demographics of the United States each day. Duncan and Stephen observe that about a quarter of U.S.
residents are either first generation immigrants or the second generation children of immigrants (109).
Most of these immigrants move to the country with the aim of achieving the American dream through
career success. We would like to believe that the nation follows through with its American ideology
that immigrants are welcomed with open arms, and they will have economic opportunities. However,
the process of integration and assimilation of these immigrants has for long been a common debate
question. The immigration waves into the United States have occurred in several waves over the past
years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were from Europe and their assimilation was rather
smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not
face similar acceptance and open arms as their predecessors.
Additionally, the aspirations of most immigrants are that they will have upward mobility when they
get into the United States, but unfortunately, in several instances, they may face unexpected downward
mobility. Downward mobility may occur due to many factors. The socioeconomic mobility of
immigrants is largely determined by the

Media And Schizophrenia Case Study
In today s ever growing communication age, there is one thing that remains constant through it all: the
media. This is not to say that media, itself, is not evolving as that would be untrue; however, media
remains the vessel in which the world stays connected. Humans are the creators of media and with that
comes their natural biases and opinions. One bias that really showcases itself is the current one against
mental illnesses. During a 2010 study, newspaper articles were collected from various top agencies

Stigmas have the same basic start as a stereotype, a couple of cases becomes the generalization for an
entire group or status. Stigmas go one step further and become a paradigm that the general public may
live under. As Dockery expressed when he stated stigmas ...can be considered a multifaceted concept
involving: labelling; negative stereotyping; separation of them from us ; status loss and discrimination,
leading to multiple inequalities (Dockery et al pg. 613). Add the diagnosed people and the non
diagnosed to the stigma equation and a cyclic nature reveals itself. For the purpose of relating this to
what has been said, the beginning of the stigmatization process will be the media. The media portrays
the diagnosed as deranged murderers because ...mental illness have been shown to strongly attract
readers attention... (Vahabzadeh et al pg. 440). This projection of the diagnosed translates to a limited
amount of information that the public has on the illness. In order to fill in the void, the public takes the
information that it has, the negative portrayals, and accepts them. This then becomes the stigma on
Schizophrenia. That negative status is now placed on the diagnosed. The diagnosed then lose some of
the credibility and begin to have more inequalities. The people who experience said inequalities are
now matching the description of what the stigma says. They accept and adopt the

Meat, China, And Communication Revolutions
Meat, China, and Communication Revolutions In Armand Mattelart s book The Invention of
Communication, the word communication is acknowledged as term with a great number of meanings.
However, Mattelart proposes that communication could be specifically understood as circuits of
circulation of goods, people, and messages (Mattelart xiv). This definition is critical to the thesis of
this paper, because it alludes to industry being an essential component of communication. This paper
will explore two specific industries: the meat packing industry of the late 19th century and the
exportation of consumer goods from contemporary China. I will argue that these are both examples of
communication revolutions due to their innate ability to cause ... Show more content on

First, let s consider Gustavus Swift and his meat packing company, and how everything from the
invention of the refrigerated rail cart, to becoming one of the first companies to utilize vertical
integration exemplifies communication revolution. As Professor Gary Fields explains in an essay
about communication and G. F. Swift, before the late 19th century, meat was a localized affair in
which few Americans participated. In order for local butchers to get their meat, shipments of live
cattle would come from the midwest. This was incredibly inefficient, as not all of the cow was edible.
The cost of shipping was high, so the butcher would have to charge a pretty penny for the final cut of
meat. Due to both the cost and lack of advertisement of beef, public interest in meat was low.
In comes Gustavus Franklin Swift, an entrepreneur who realized the potential in meat packing, and
helped fund the invention of the refrigerated rail cart. This technological wonder allowed cattle to be
butchered first, and then have the meat shipped over long distances. This eliminated any unnecessary
waste from being shipped, which meant money was saved and the company could charge consumers
less than local butchers. In 1880, Swift had one cattle supplier, one

Health And Social Care Reflection Essay
For the purpose of confidentiality and anonymity, I have changed the patients name and throughout of
the reflection I will refer to them as Mrs Smith. Mrs Smith is a pleasant lady in her late 70 s who
suffered from breast cancer, renal failure and several other health issues. Mrs Smith was diagnosed
with diabetes quite early on in her life and has recovered from hip replacement and several fractures
leading to restricted mobility. Mrs Smith requires a vast amount of assistance whilst socialising and

Criticising upon the experience Mr and Mrs Smith had with their GP shouldn t have been the way it
was, due to the fact Mrs Smith also had several other health related issues her matter should have been
considered serious however unfortunately she wasn t supported as well. The NMC code, (2016) states
that people are to be prioritised, to achieve this practitioner s must make sure they deliver the
fundamentals of care effectively and make sure that any treatment, assistance or care for which they
are responsible is delivered without undue delay. The aim of the NHS is to nurture, provide, and
protect the general public, after the rejection on several occasions from her GP she felt that she wasn t
supported as she should have been. Commitment to the quality of care is one of the core values which
can be used to reflect and evaluate upon the situation Mrs Smith was in, the NHS aspires to the
highest standards of excellence and professionalism in the provision of high quality care that is safe,
effective and focused on patient experience. However, commitment wasn t shown effectively to the
patient whilst continual visits made to the GP were meaningless, as a reflection upon this for future
experiences I would always aim to implement the most suitable and appropriate care to help my
patients and encourage patients to seek emergency help when unsure about their

Analysis Of Marjane In Persepolis
Location and childhood are two major components that make up someone s identity. A person is
shaped by the world around them and how they see themselves within it. For Marjane in Persepolis
(Marjane Satrapi, Vincent Paronnaud), this is rather difficult as her identity has been formed both
through her life in Iran and the liberal, western political views held by her family. The film portrays
her childhood in Iran and her teen years in Austria, through a simplistic form that show the differences
in ideologies and the universality of their problems. This paper aims to examine the contribution of the
form of the film, the style of the film, and the plot in showing the comparison and universality
between western and eastern ideologies and the formation of an adult in a world of these two
ideologies. Persepolis alternates between the present and the past in the life of Marjane, telling the
story of her childhood years in Iran, her teen years in Austria, and finally her adulthood and realizing
that she does not quite fit in in either location. This narrative style allows reflection from adult Marji,
who is recounting her stories. The viewer must recognize that many thoughts are not child Marji s, but
adult Marji s after growth and reflection. Therefore, when her childhood is being recounted, this is the
product of years of memories that are contributing to the retelling of this one time. The narration
reveals more about the events that have affected and influenced Marji because

Power Pole Essay
A 2014 bush fire in Parkerville, Western Australia has left some residents battling a power company
after it was discovered the power pole that caused the blaze was affected by termites. Did you know
that as a land owner you are responsible for maintaining the health of power poles on your property?
If you never inspect your power poles for termites before, now is the time to do so before the summer
hits, the ground dries up and the fire risk increases. Visual Inspection There are two main ways you
can tell whether your power pole has been visited by termites and the first option is to do a visual
inspection yourself. Some facts you should know when you are inspecting the poles include: Not all
termites live in colonies. The West Indian Drywood termite, for example, has small nests instead and
is often not discovered until ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pellets are only as big as a piece of table salt and are light beige coloured. They get pushed out of
the excavation tubes as termites dig into the wood and accumulate at the base of the pole. Soft wood
that gives under the pressure of your hands is a physical sign that termites have eaten the interior of
the power pole. If you can easily shred the wood in your hands, your power pole may be infected.
Professional Inspection Because not all types of termite leave a visible trace of wood damage, a
professional inspection is the second way you can confirm whether these insects have weakened your
wood poles. Professional termite inspectors use echo equipment such as sonar to determine whether a
wood pole has been hollowed out by termites. Sound waves move through the pole and indicate which
parts of the pole are still solid and which parts are now hollow. This allows the operator to form a
virtual map of how much of the pole has been eaten by termites and this can be used to determine
whether the pole has been weakened to a point of being structurally

Use Of Distance Education Within A Rural Setting Essay
The Use of Distance Education in Continuing Interprofessional Education within a Rural Setting
Interprofessional education (IPE) is an imperative form of educating a variety of healthcare
professionals (HCPs). With factors such as an ageing population and an increase in the number of
patients with chronic health conditions, patient care has become more complex, requiring HCPs to
work together collaboratively. While many institutions initiate education for new HCPs with IPE as a
part of existing curriculum, current staff working in clinical areas require continuing education to
educate on how to work efficiently in the interprofessional team after they obtain their licensing.
Continuing interprofessional education (CIPE) is an important part of ongoing HCP education to
ensure HCPS maintain a continued focus and practice on working in an interprofessional environment.
While larger tertiary centres employ educators with an ability to conduct CIPE, rural and isolated
urban areas experience greater difficulty in managing CIPE, thus a distance education focus is
required. An understanding of the efficiency of distance education in the CIPE setting, in addition to
the most effective methods of providing CIPE is required for educators with an interdisciplinary focus
in the rural setting. In this paper, we will examine CIPE, issues regarding CIPE in remote areas, and
the use of distance education for CIPE.

offices in Tehran were closed for a week by Iranian authorities on June 14 and no explanation was
given for the decision. Additionally, the director of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World

Judiciary Action
Before discussing the actions taken by judiciary officials in Iran, the history of the system must be
understood. The Iranian revolution of 1979 essentially erased six decades of modernization of Iran s
judicial system. The revolution overthrew the Pahlavi Dynasty, which had ruled Iran from 1926 to
1979, under Muhammad Reza Shah. Similar to his father who had ruled before him, Muhammad Reza
Shah eliminated dissent through repression; banning the independent political parties and repressing
minority groups. By the 1960s, these policies began to spark resistance in the form of armed groups
fighting with guerilla warfare, similar to the methods used Algeria and Palestine resistance

Spinal Cord Injury Essay
Spinal Cord Injury
Spinal cord injury is a serious problem that effects close to 250,000 people in the United States with
10,000 people being injured per year . There are many things that can lead to spinal cord injury,
including athletic injuries, car accidents, and recreational activities like swimming and biking. It
primarily effects those between the ages of 16 and 30 and drastically effects the rest of their lives. It is
a very debilitating injury that requires extensive medical care, often leaves the patients in a great deal
of pain for the rest of their lives(2), and the treatment of which costs $10 billion dollars a year in the

Once the nervous system infrastructure is established and connections are made, the body would want
to keep them constant. If they were to constantly be changing then our bodies would have a difficult
time communicating within itself. The other factor in favor of limited growth is the lack of physical
space within the spinal cord. If nerve cells kept growing they would quickly run out of space and that
would create all kinds of new problems.
The limited space within the vertebrae actually plays an important roll in spinal cord injury. Once the
initial injury occurs the body, as with every other part of the body, tries to protect the injured area with
swelling. But the swelling occurs within the small confines of the spinal column and causes further
damage to the surrounding tissue. It has only recently been discovered how much of an impact this
secondary damage has. One of the areas of crucial ongoing research is on what kind of window of
opportunity medicine has in treating these types of injuries and still attaining the best recovery.
There have also been breakthroughs in stimulating nerve re growth by Dr. Martin Schwab at the
University of Zurich in Switzerland. He has been able to create an antibody, called IN 1, that combats
the inhibitory proteins which prevent nerve growth. Using IN 1 with naturally occurring nerve growth
factors, NT 3, he was able to produce promising results, with rats regaining some function where there

World War II, Hitler, Erwin Rommel, And Heinrich Himmler
During World War II, Germany was led by three powerful men: Adolf Hitler, Erwin Rommel, and
Heinrich Himmler. All three men rose to power in Nazi Germany because of their particular leadership
qualities and the way they complemented each other. Hitler was elected dictator because he was a
ruthless political leader who persuaded his countrymen that he would make Germany powerful.
Rommel was chosen to be general of the Nazi party because he was a self confident leader with great
knowledge in military training and excelled in making tactical military decisions. Himmler was
appointed military commander because he was an ambitious, cruel officer who commanded his
soldiers obedience through terror. Hitler s childhood disappointments and difficult young adult
experiences strongly contributed to the ruthless leader he became as an adult. Growing up, Hitler s
father was strict, did not provide a good education, and at times was very cruel. As a result, Hitler
never learned the right way to act and thought differently then everyone else. He had a challenging
time in school, and at age fifteen he dropped out of high school because he did not want to be forced
to repeat the grade. Hitler s only true passion since he was a young boy was painting, and at age
seventeen, he was rejected from the art school of his dreams. After dropping out of school, Hitler tried
to find a job for many years, but no one wanted to hire him because of his lack of education. As he
blamed other people for his

we go to a doctor and chemist when we are sick and how some indigenous societies use their natural
environment, such as plants from the forest to heal people. However, to cover this topic, I would find
it significantly hard in New Zealand, as I don t

  • 2. Roles And Mission Of The Counselor Roles and Mission The counselor may play various roles, at several levels, i.e. the counselor may be an educator to the client, the counselor may be a type of mentor offering advice and guidance on specific issues, and also engage in other roles. The counselor may also act as an advocate for a client whose cultural background is significantly different than the environment he or she may currently be in, by ensuring that the client is treated with the same respect and given the same opportunities as others. The client s social and cultural context is significant because it reveals to the counselor who the client is, where the client is from, the traditions and values of the client, among many other things. With this knowledge of the client, the counselor is able to obtain specialized interventions which will assist them with the issues they are encountering therefore their situations and themselves can improve. An advocate is an individual who acts as intermediary to foster change to unlimited access, enhance awareness to inequalities, and promote accountability on the individual, communal, and statewide level. Within the counseling field, most counselors, although they may not be aware, act as social justice advocates on the behalf of their clients when linking or representing the client in different settings. In the article titled, Relationship Between a Belief in a Just World and Social Justice Advocacy Attitudes of School Counselors, the authors suggests that ... school ... • 3. Jousting Before The Nineteenth Century Jousting dates back to the 11th century. Before the real jousting, they had all out melee tournaments where there were no rules or restrictions, and any weapons are allowed. It then became more organized, and you could only attack with three tilts of the lance or three strokes of the sword, and the same for both battle axe and mace. Before the 14th century, knights tried to kill the opponents, but now they do not. The more modern jousts began in the 14th century, when many members of nobility wanted a way to show their courage, skill, and strength. Nobles required royal permits to fight and some hired knights to joust for them. Heralds would promote by spreading news of tournaments, singing songs, and writing poems for the jousters. If opposing sides in the war were fighting, knights from each side would seek to face each other for honor off the battlefields. Jousting was a type of duel. When chivalry was introduced, ... You may fight for the honor of a maiden, and it may not end till a knight is knocked off his horse. Also, a lady may give the knight a favor for defending her. A favor could be anything from a handkerchief to a platinum charm. One of the most famous jousters was King Richard the Lionheart. He is said to be 6 feet 5 inches tall and had fiery red hair. He also is just as feared a ruler, as a jouster. It is said that only one man has ever unhorsed him. Another famous Jouster was King Henry the 8th. His Jousting career ended early due to head injuries. Research has shown that Jousting may have lead to his quick anger by killing his 6 wives. In conclusion, Jousting went from a bloody free for all to a gentleman s sport. Honor and respect were mutual between the Knights. Jousts were a time to show your courage, skill and strength. Jousting is still done today; you could say it s one of the oldest sports ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Review Of Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus or Pliny the Younger was a roman aristocrat at the height of the Pax Romana. The Pax Romana was a time of stability and peace throughout the roman empire. There was very minimal military activity. His letters give us a view into the perspective of the roman aristocrat as well as an insight into roman society. The letters also give a perspective of the lives of roman women during this time. Roman society was a very patriarchal during the Pax Romana and women were considered much less important than men. This is apparent in his letters. There are very few accounts in Pliny s letters that go into detail about the women of these times. The letters that do include female characters are about aristocrats dominantly and give us only a biased snapshot of how they interact within roman society. The character that we have the most to go on is Culpurnia. Calpurnia is the granddaughter of Calpurnius Fabitus and wife of Pliny the Younger. In his letters he describes Calpurnia as becoming well adjusted to her role as Pliny s wife. You are a model of family devotion, and you loved your brother, matching his deep regard for you with equal affection. You love his daughter as if she was your own, and to her you re enact the fondness not only of an aunt, but also that of the father she lost (4,19). Calpurnia was everything Pliny could ask for in a wife. He extolled her intelligence, her devotion, and her expertise at looking after their home. She is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eliade uses the history of religion to support his ideas as the the book itself is a brief introduction to religion as a whole, particulary the religions of primitive societies. Nonetheless, when looking to the past one can see that mankind s desire to associate itself with the sacred has been occuring for thousands of years. From temples to passages of intiation, religious man is a unique microcosm that follows and repeats the structure of the religious macrocosm, the creation of the cosmos. One can conclude that Eliade views religion as the paradigmatic solution for every existential crisis. (p210) and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The participation in these events and overall repetition enforces the religious content and provides an optimistic vision of existence and eventual transcendence for the participant. It provides a break from a temporal and profane duration of time and into a sacred time of importance and meaning for a religion and its followers. Religious experience then would fall into the personal realm of man himself and how he perceives the world around him. Nature provides a chief component in primitive religious man s view of the cosmos and his gods. The sky houses the gods, remote although it may be, natural phenomenon such as thunder and rain gave primitive and early religious man the reasoning to place his gods above him in the intangible heavens as such natural occurrences were due in part to the supernatural beings dwelling in the skies. Alongside the sky, the observation of the transition of the moon and sun (night and day) signify death and rebirth. Water too plays a symbolic part in human experience and although it has a powerful capability to destroy life, it also reiterates the cosmogonic cycle, especially with the practice of baptism where water renews life. (p132) Earth itself is also linked to the human experience of child birth with females. The idea of a Terra Mater or mother earth (p138) symbolizes the idea of the earth reproducing its vegetation based life in comparison to the experience of mother giving birth of her children. • 7. The Face Of Lennon By John Lennon The Face of Lennon Help! Help! Help! The Beatles faced plenty of highs and plenty of lows throughout their careers, and the transition between each stage was always shaky and lined with turmoil. Perhaps the most evident of these transitions was between the years of 1964 and 1965. In this period, songs from A Hard Day s Night and Help! clearly show that John Lennon, a member of the group since the very beginning, was facing difficult, emotional times. These three songs speak volumes for the trouble that Lennon was going experiencing: You Can t Do That , You ve Got To Hide Your Love Away , and It s Only Love . The first of these songs is the one that helps to set the stage for next two: You Can t Do That . Released as a part of the album A Hard Day s Night in 1964, this song is a product of Lennon s surroundings more than a product from Lennon himself. Having first touched down in the United States on February 7, 1964, John fell in love with it all. Since Rock and Roll was on its last leg in the States, the Beatles were welcomed with excitement and a wave of energy. Despite only having stayed until February 22, Lennon was moved by the momentum the United States gave them. Only three days later, the Beatles went on to record You Can t Do That on February 25. Written by the ever impressionable John, this song clearly reflects the burst of energy brought about from the trip to the States and his love for American Rock. • 9. Machiavelli s Battles In The Prince, Machiavelli uses many examples of battles and people to emphasize and illustrate his points. He exalts some as examples of great leadership, and condemns others for their mistakes and imperfections. Machiavelli, in the Prince, praises Philip of Macedon for fighting to hold onto his country, and for holding onto most of his kingdom even after surrendering a few cities to Rome. His purpose in doing this was to provide an example of a prince that did the opposite of the princes of Italy, and to further reprimand the princes of Italy for allowing their kingdom to slip through their fingers. And yet, Machiavelli only speaks on Philip s last war, and praises only his preparedness to go to war, not mentioning the amount of power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If Machiavelli were to place as much or more importance on the outcomes of a decision than the theory a decision was made on, much of his novel would be different. For example, he would not have praised Cesare Borgia, for although his theory was sound he was unable to adapt to changing circumstances and was thus deposed. In the case of Philip V of Macedon, however, Machiavelli s words may have been words of caution instead of outright condemnation had he placed any emphasis upon the outcome of rule. It is clear that becoming too complacent is certainly no good for a prince, and will almost certainly result in a dead or overthrown prince, and that is what Machiavelli admonished the princes of Italy for. Philip of Macedon s excessive paranoia, however, may have been his downfall. While it is true that it is impossible to ascertain exactly how Rome would have reacted had Philip been more willing to compromise instead of outright attack the greater, and fast growing, power, it seems fairly safe to say Philip may have lived out the rest of his days in greater peace and perhaps sustained his line for much longer had he not been so quick to antagonize the Romans. Therefore, had Machiavelli looked at Philip s rule in a more objective light, unskewed by the anger he held towards the princes of Italy for letting their kingdom fall, this ... Essay on Georgia OKeefe (includes annotated bibliography) Georgia O Keefe (word count includes annotated bibliography) Georgia O Keefe is a famous American painter who painted beautiful flowers and landscapes. But she painted these images in such a way that many people believed she was portraying sexual imagery. O Keefe s depictions of flowers in strict frontality and enlarged to giant scale were entirely original in character . . . the view into the open blossoms evoked an image of the female psyche and invited erotic associations. (Joachimides 47) O Keefe denies these allegations and says that she magnified the scale of the flower only to ensure people would notice them. When she began creating beautiful artwork in school and was being commended by other teachers and students, she gained an incredible sense of self worth and put her painful childhood in the back of her mind. (19) She grew up to be a very strong, independent person and she did not care if she was judged, as long as she liked who she was. As a result of her father leaving when she was young, she felt that males were not good enough for her and she developed a strong sense of feminism. In fact, for awhile, Georgia explored her sexuality and dated predominantly women for a significant part of her life. This factor did effect her painting, but not in a sexual way. She painted images that were close ups , allowing you to see deep into them and to be close to them. She yearned to be close to someone but was afraid to be hurt again. Georgia s non traditional lifestyle did affect her life, but did not force her to create sexual female images. It may be more accurate to read her drawings as intimations of a less literal and more profound view of reality. (Peters 29) Georgia grew up in a time where people still had little respect for women. A woman s role was to stay home and be a housekeeper. They had no self worth until they were married. So, when women started to get jobs just like their husbands or lived their lives without a husband, people were shocked and most looked down upon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the public s fascination with murder is still as strong as ever. The infamous cases and trials of Case Anthony, OJ Simpson, and Amanda Knox captivated a world and resulted in the commercial appeal of true crime. The commercialization of what society openly proclaims as criminal begs for a curtail question to be asked. What makes this Victorian cultural trait thrive in today society while other culture traits died out? Television and the internet are two technological advances that have sustained the public s fascination with murder. Both of these sources allow for a shift from a written format to visual display. • 13. Self Awareness And The Social Work Self awareness and the use of self is a key component in social work practice. Depending upon how one integrates their personal being and accompanying thoughts, experiences, emotions, and consciousness into the helping profession has a profound impact on whether that integration is positive or negative, particularly when it comes to that of one s relationships with their clients. While remaining impartial is often critical to effective social work practice, the complete separation of self from one s professional practice is not only impossible to realize, but would arguably have less of a meaningful impact with one s relations with clients as well as self. Understanding the use of self and the importance of self awareness in the social work profession is the first step in establishing a healthy means of practicing and the impact that our own individuality has when interacting with clients. In this paper I will analyze, and further critically reflect upon, four academic journals on the topic of the use of self in social work; later applying this learning to an experience from my field placement. In their article, The Integration of Personal and Professional Selves: Developing Students Critical Awareness in Social Work Practice , Jay Marlowe, Cherie Appleton, Shirley Ann Chinnery, and Stuibra Van Stratum (2015) interestingly explored the concepts of self awareness and use of self at the stage immediately prefacing the career level. A shared governance model is one professional practice model used to improve nursing practice through collaboration of nurses, patients, and other care providers. The professional nurse is an asset simply because much of what drives success within an organization is the fruit of labor. In order for this continued performance to strive it is necessary that an organization be designed to allow professionals to participate in the practice and help shape the environment in which patient care occurs which ultimately brings us back to this notion of shared governance. The goal for SLMC is to have a unit based interdisciplinary design with the use of a Collaborative Care Committee (CCC) as a vehicle in implementing shared governance, and increase interdisciplinary team collaboration. According to Suby (2012), shared governance models create decentralized systems in which decision making lies with bedside staff nurses whose role becomes the source of innovative solutions; the managers role is one of facilitation and support to assist staff nurses in changing practice to better care for the needs of the patient . This CCC will allow for staff nurses and nursing management as well as providers to work together to promote autonomy, accountability, leadership and empowerment, all of which are elements of shared governance and also important factors to address when trying to improve quality of care. • 19. Immigration Assimilation America is largely made up of immigrants, and thus it is referred to by many as an immigrant s nation. The rise in immigrants of the first generation and those of second or third generation is changing the demographics of the United States each day. Duncan and Stephen observe that about a quarter of U.S. residents are either first generation immigrants or the second generation children of immigrants (109). Most of these immigrants move to the country with the aim of achieving the American dream through career success. We would like to believe that the nation follows through with its American ideology that immigrants are welcomed with open arms, and they will have economic opportunities. However, the process of integration and assimilation of these immigrants has for long been a common debate question. The immigration waves into the United States have occurred in several waves over the past years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were from Europe and their assimilation was rather smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not face similar acceptance and open arms as their predecessors. Additionally, the aspirations of most immigrants are that they will have upward mobility when they get into the United States, but unfortunately, in several instances, they may face unexpected downward mobility. Downward mobility may occur due to many factors. The socioeconomic mobility of immigrants is largely determined by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Media And Schizophrenia Case Study In today s ever growing communication age, there is one thing that remains constant through it all: the media. This is not to say that media, itself, is not evolving as that would be untrue; however, media remains the vessel in which the world stays connected. Humans are the creators of media and with that comes their natural biases and opinions. One bias that really showcases itself is the current one against mental illnesses. During a 2010 study, newspaper articles were collected from various top agencies and analyzed for the usage of the word Schizophrenia . Of the articles that were collected and analyzed, 3.5% referenced Schizophrenia (Vahabzadeh et al pg. 442). This may seem like a minute number and it is, but the limited supply of articles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stigmas have the same basic start as a stereotype, a couple of cases becomes the generalization for an entire group or status. Stigmas go one step further and become a paradigm that the general public may live under. As Dockery expressed when he stated stigmas ...can be considered a multifaceted concept involving: labelling; negative stereotyping; separation of them from us ; status loss and discrimination, leading to multiple inequalities (Dockery et al pg. 613). Add the diagnosed people and the non diagnosed to the stigma equation and a cyclic nature reveals itself. For the purpose of relating this to what has been said, the beginning of the stigmatization process will be the media. The media portrays the diagnosed as deranged murderers because ...mental illness have been shown to strongly attract readers attention... (Vahabzadeh et al pg. 440). This projection of the diagnosed translates to a limited amount of information that the public has on the illness. In order to fill in the void, the public takes the information that it has, the negative portrayals, and accepts them. This then becomes the stigma on Schizophrenia. That negative status is now placed on the diagnosed. The diagnosed then lose some of the credibility and begin to have more inequalities. The people who experience said inequalities are now matching the description of what the stigma says. They accept and adopt the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meat, China, And Communication Revolutions Meat, China, and Communication Revolutions In Armand Mattelart s book The Invention of Communication, the word communication is acknowledged as term with a great number of meanings. However, Mattelart proposes that communication could be specifically understood as circuits of circulation of goods, people, and messages (Mattelart xiv). This definition is critical to the thesis of this paper, because it alludes to industry being an essential component of communication. First, let s consider Gustavus Swift and his meat packing company, and how everything from the invention of the refrigerated rail cart, to becoming one of the first companies to utilize vertical integration exemplifies communication revolution. As Professor Gary Fields explains in an essay about communication and G. F. Swift, before the late 19th century, meat was a localized affair in which few Americans participated. In order for local butchers to get their meat, shipments of live cattle would come from the midwest. This was incredibly inefficient, as not all of the cow was edible. The cost of shipping was high, so the butcher would have to charge a pretty penny for the final cut of meat. Due to both the cost and lack of advertisement of beef, public interest in meat was low. In comes Gustavus Franklin Swift, an entrepreneur who realized the potential in meat packing, and helped fund the invention of the refrigerated rail cart. This technological wonder allowed cattle to be butchered first, and then have the meat shipped over long distances. This eliminated any unnecessary waste from being shipped, which meant money was saved and the company could charge consumers less than local butchers. In 1880, Swift had one cattle supplier, one ... • 25. Analysis Of Marjane In Persepolis Location and childhood are two major components that make up someone s identity. A person is shaped by the world around them and how they see themselves within it. For Marjane in Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi, Vincent Paronnaud), this is rather difficult as her identity has been formed both through her life in Iran and the liberal, western political views held by her family. The film portrays her childhood in Iran and her teen years in Austria, through a simplistic form that show the differences in ideologies and the universality of their problems. This paper aims to examine the contribution of the form of the film, the style of the film, and the plot in showing the comparison and universality between western and eastern ideologies and the formation of an adult in a world of these two ideologies. Persepolis alternates between the present and the past in the life of Marjane, telling the story of her childhood years in Iran, her teen years in Austria, and finally her adulthood and realizing that she does not quite fit in in either location. This narrative style allows reflection from adult Marji, who is recounting her stories. The viewer must recognize that many thoughts are not child Marji s, but adult Marji s after growth and reflection. Therefore, when her childhood is being recounted, this is the product of years of memories that are contributing to the retelling of this one time. The narration reveals more about the events that have affected and influenced Marji because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Power Pole Essay A 2014 bush fire in Parkerville, Western Australia has left some residents battling a power company after it was discovered the power pole that caused the blaze was affected by termites. Did you know that as a land owner you are responsible for maintaining the health of power poles on your property? If you never inspect your power poles for termites before, now is the time to do so before the summer hits, the ground dries up and the fire risk increases. Visual Inspection There are two main ways you can tell whether your power pole has been visited by termites and the first option is to do a visual inspection yourself. If you can easily shred the wood in your hands, your power pole may be infected. Professional termite inspectors use echo equipment such as sonar to determine whether a wood pole has been hollowed out by termites. Sound waves move through the pole and indicate which parts of the pole are still solid and which parts are now hollow. This allows the operator to form a virtual map of how much of the pole has been eaten by termites and this can be used to determine whether the pole has been weakened to a point of being structurally ... Use Of Distance Education Within A Rural Setting Essay The Use of Distance Education in Continuing Interprofessional Education within a Rural Setting Interprofessional education (IPE) is an imperative form of educating a variety of healthcare professionals (HCPs). With factors such as an ageing population and an increase in the number of patients with chronic health conditions, patient care has become more complex, requiring HCPs to work together collaboratively. While many institutions initiate education for new HCPs with IPE as a part of existing curriculum, current staff working in clinical areas require continuing education to educate on how to work efficiently in the interprofessional team after they obtain their licensing. Continuing interprofessional education (CIPE) is an important part of ongoing HCP education to ensure HCPS maintain a continued focus and practice on working in an interprofessional environment. While larger tertiary centres employ educators with an ability to conduct CIPE, rural and isolated urban areas experience greater difficulty in managing CIPE, thus a distance education focus is required. An understanding of the efficiency of distance education in the CIPE setting, in addition to the most effective methods of providing CIPE is required for educators with an interdisciplinary focus in the rural setting. If they were to constantly be changing then our bodies would have a difficult time communicating within itself. The other factor in favor of limited growth is the lack of physical space within the spinal cord. If nerve cells kept growing they would quickly run out of space and that would create all kinds of new problems. The limited space within the vertebrae actually plays an important roll in spinal cord injury. Once the initial injury occurs the body, as with every other part of the body, tries to protect the injured area with swelling. But the swelling occurs within the small confines of the spinal column and causes further damage to the surrounding tissue.
