Art Definition Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Art Definition" can be both a stimulating and challenging
endeavor. The difficulty arises from the broad and subjective nature of the subject itself. Art, in
its various forms, encompasses a vast array of expressions, styles, and interpretations, making it a
complex and multifaceted theme to dissect.
To embark on this essay, one must grapple with the elusive nature of art, attempting to capture its
essence within the constraints of language. Defining art requires navigating through the diverse
opinions and perspectives that surround it, as artists, critics, and scholars often offer conflicting
interpretations. The challenge lies in striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive
overview and delving into specific aspects that contribute to the richness of artistic expression.
Moreover, the very act of defining art can be seen as an artistic endeavor in itself. Writers are
tasked with conveying the nuances, emotions, and intellectual depth that art embodies, while
being mindful of the limitations of words. Selecting the right words to encapsulate the beauty,
meaning, and significance of art poses a formidable challenge, as language may fall short in
capturing the full spectrum of human creativity.
Despite the challenges, navigating through the diverse dimensions of art offers a rewarding
experience. The process of researching, contemplating, and expressing one's thoughts on art
fosters a deeper appreciation for the subject. It encourages introspection and exploration of
personal perspectives, leading to a more profound understanding of the role art plays in shaping
culture, emotions, and human connection.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the definition of art demands a delicate balance between the
expansive nature of the subject and the constraints of language. It is a journey that involves
navigating through diverse opinions, interpreting various forms of expression, and ultimately
attempting to encapsulate the ineffable essence of art. It is both a challenging and rewarding
endeavor that encourages a deeper engagement with the complexities of human creativity.

Struggles Of A Rapid Ascension Of Fame
Struggles of a Rapid Ascension to Fame Rap star G Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum,
may only be twenty seven years old but he has played on the same stage as legends
such as Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles to U2 and John Denver to Prince and
Macklemore and many more. Coming off his sophomore album, When It s Dark
Out released December 4th, 2015, his career is reaching new levels of popularity
which isn t all it s cut out to be. This album, which featured his triple platinum
single Me, Myself I featuring Bebe Rexha, brings a spotlight to tragedies in his
past and the rollercoaster that was the past two years , said Gerald in an interview
with billboard.com s Adelle Platon. His most popular song, Me, Myself, I released
on October 14th, 2015, was released as the lead single for his upcoming album,
When It s Dark Out. Me, Myself, I is in a moderato tempo and in a c minor key, a
common key and tempo among the hip hop genre. In Me Myself and I by G Eazy,
Gerald comes to terms with the aspects of being famous and forever in the
spotlight, which he wanted but didn t realize everything else that came with it. He
does this through his thought out lyrics and his use of artistic discretion in the
music video that he released shortly after the song. Within his music video, G Eazy
begins by being driven back home by his foreign girlfriend, a status symbol of
superstar lifestyle, and when he gets home he is thrown a surprise partyfor his

Defining Your Business The first step in developing an effective MBO program is
to define your business. Ask yourself the following questions: ! ! ! What business
am I in? Is my definition right for today s market? Do I need to change my business
to meet emerging customer needs?
A clear vision of your business is crucial for planning your marketing, product
development, buildings and equipment, and financial and staff needs. For example, a
drop in sales caused a small business manufacturer of metal trash cans to reexamine
its product. To regain lost sales, the owner decided to redefine the product as metal
containers and to develop a new marketing plan.
Setting Goals
Long range business goals will be the cornerstone of your company s MBO
program. To achieve these goals, you must have a method to communicate them to
your managers and employees. One way is to bring managers and employees into
the process by asking them to help formulate the company s short and long range
goals. If they have a role in establishing the goals, they will be more committed to
achieving them. All goals should relate to and support the long range objectives for
the company. In this way, you can ensure that the goals of all levels of management
are consistent. If goals are incompatible, you may find that employees feel like the
middle manager of a research and development company who exclaimed in a
seminar, How can I set my goals when I don
Global Sustainability and the Water Supply
The increase of global urban population has become a critical issue that the world
is facing; as the world population continuously increases, the need for natural
resources (Land, water, energy and food) also increases. However, natural
resources are known to be finite. Which is why sustainability has become a major
concept during recent times. Based on the US Environmental Protection Agency
(ND), Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for
our survival and well being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural
environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which
humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the
social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.
Bloomberg, an international news agency in the US, reported that it was recently
found by an Ernst Young study that 76% of corporate representatives think water,
which is what this essay will discuss, is the top resource at risk. (Bloomberg: 2013)
Water makes up around 70% of the world s surface. Less than 1% is freshwater,
and only 0.4% of it is accessible for human use. (Global change: 2006) These
statistics prove to show how water is limited within the cycle it goes through. The
global demand for water has vastly increased in the past few decades, making
demand exceed what is available for direct use. Nearly 768 Million of the human
population, roughly 1 in 10 people, does not have access
Epilepsy Book Report
Epilepsy is a disorder that affects people all across the globe. In order to gain the best
possible understanding of the treatments, one must consider all points of views. The
purpose of this project is to maintain a global understanding of treatment for epilepsy.
This includes understanding treatments in both first and third worldcountries. There is
no specific hypothesis for this study, as the desire is of personal interest to dive
into an understanding of the treatments and of the disease itself. This is considered
a personal interest project as a I ve served in hospitals in both 1st and 3rd world
countries, and have first hand seen the treatment gap. I ve also seen that even in 1st

Inclusion criteria would include epilepsy physiology, epilepsy treatments, third world
medicine compared to first world, and epilepsy in the third world. Exclusion criteria
would include just searching epilepsy or seizures as that gives too wide of a results
bank. This clinical review study design is mainly based on scientific journal articles.
The articles mainly take different medications and compare different drug related
treatments for epilepsy. According to one article, 1/3 of those receiving treatment for
epilepsy are not receiving adequate treatment as they still show up in the ED with life
threatening epilepsy.1 In order to address this issue the article dove into three topics:
new anti seizure treatments for drug resistant seizures, disease modifying treatments
that prevent epileptogenesis, treatment of the common associated morbidities that are
tied with epilepsy.1 Articles like this help understand the importance of this study.
Epilepsy is a very relevant disease that affects people across the globe equally, can
be minor or severe, and can have affective treatment or ineffective treatment. Through

Lambert Simnel as a Greater Threat to the Security of Henry VII than Perkin
Warbec After Bosworth, Henry s most immediate and perhaps greatest problem was
ensuring that he kept the crown. from Henry VII by R. Turvey and C. Steinsberg.
This was very true, as throughout Henry s reign he faced many threats because as
King he wasn t established and therefore vulnerable to challenge. Also there were still
Yorkists in power who wanted to claim the throne back from the usurper King and
there was also strong foreign support for any potential threat towards Henry. A threat
that Henry did face throughout most of his reign was the threat from Pretenders, and

However, Warbeck was actually from Tournai in Flanders who was a personable,
quite handsome and charming young man. Simnels and Warbeck s claims to the
throne were great threats to Henry s security, because of Henry s weak claim to
the throne; therefore, it was possible for anyone to usurp his throne like he had
done. Henry claim to the throne was weak as his claim only came from a female
line, as he was a descendant of Henry V s wife and the Beaufort family. But his
victory at the Battle of Bosworth, enabled him as many would say to become a
usurper King and Henry said he was given the throne as he has divine sanction.
Both Simnel and Warbeck on their own didn t pose a great threat to Henry s
security, but they did with the support they individually gained. Compared to
Warbeck, Simnel internally posed a greater threat to Henry s security due to the
internal support that Simnel had. Unlike Warbeck, Simnel had the support of a
great noble power supporting him, and that was John de La Pole, Earl of Lincoln,
who was heir to Richard III. As the heir to Richard III, John de la Pole was a major
potential threat to Henry VIII. But the greater threat that John de la Pole posed and
the impact of his support was that it enabled Simnel to link his internal support and
foreign support (therefore, linking internal and external threat), because of John de la
Pole being the nephew of

to be away from his family and Mary, but John learned that maybe his dreams were
not big enough. He started dreaming about more than just being a farmer and live
in his hometown for the rest of his life. After serving his country for a year, John
came back home, but his dreams were bigger than ever. Another two years went by

and it was a good place to start a new life. John said goodbye to his familyand Mary

Essay On American Refugees
The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the
early 1900 s. Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an
asylum seeker, and an immigrant. Over the years, different associations, agencies,
official acts and laws have come into existence to limit who can be awarded the title
of refugee. Rules and regulations have become the most confusing part of coming to
the United Statesif a person is seeking refuge. This paper will explore the history of
the American refugee and the laws, regulations, and associations that aide or hinder
their status.
What is the Difference between a Refugee, and Asylum Seeker, and an Immigrant?
In the United States, a refugee is defined as a person that is outside of the United
States and is seeking refuge from persecution based on their race, nationality,
religious beliefs, social group or political opinion. Refugees can be excluded from
being awarded refugee status for polygamy, health related issues, moral and criminal
and security grounds. They could also be excluded for misrepresentation of facts on
visa applications, smuggling and previous deportations. A person seeking asylum, is
a person that has already entered the United States by using a visa or illegally
entering and is seeking the same protection under the same ... Show more content on

He also determines from which country they can be from. Currently, the Immigration
and Naturalization Act (INA) governs our current immigration policy and provides a
limit of 675,000 permanent immigrants, with special exceptions for close family
members. Immigration and refugee status is based upon whether it is possible to
reunite a family, whether the immigrant or refugee has a special skill that would be
valuable to the United States economy, protection for the refugee, and promoting

The Assembly Line Revolutionizes Manufacturing Worldwide Prior to the industrial
revolution, products were built by either a craftsman or a group of craftsmen. They
would start by using tools like knives to create the individual parts of the product.
Then they would have to combine each part to form the final product while making
cuts to adjust the parts so they could fit and work together. This process of production
was very time consuming and it required a lot of effort both of which are the reasons
why items that were made before the 18th century were highly priced. When the
industrial revolution came about in the late 18th century the manufacturing industry
experienced a great change in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the success that Ford s industry got because of the assembly line idea, many
other industry took haste and also snatched the assembly line production method
which resulted in a global manufacturing revolution. Following this revolution there
were many changes that occurred in the industrial world but the biggest change
would probably be the decreased cost of manufactured goods. The total cost of
manufacturing commodities like automobiles has been minimized because of the
benefits that assembly lines brought to the world such as increased quantity of
production objects, better working condition for the employed, and more job
opportunities for a wider range of people. The application of assembly lines in
manufacturing increased production rates because workers were able to complete
the construction of products much faster. Back in the day, artifacts were made by
different crafters so even the same artifacts would vary depending on the crafter
that built them. Also whatever artifact that a crafter created would be expensive
since it takes its time consuming which meant that he wouldn t have made much of
it. However, assembly lines have helped changed this for the better. For example,
Ford s industry was able to make all of their cars exactly the same and this was only
possible because the parts used to assemble these cars like the tires, gas tanks, and
valves were all interchangeable.

OGG Vorbis the compression bit rate can be varied according to your requirements.
Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and Thompson Multimedia developed the MP3 while the

So between MP3 vs. Ogg Which Should You go for?
Now that you know the difference between the two formats which one is best for

tremendously fashionable. Its recognition is based on the reality that the phrase
MP3 was synonymic with Compressed audio. The word MP3 is often used by
some people to mean any aural file. On the other hand, the OGG Vorbis file format
is increasingly becoming trendy among developers due to its better quality sound

The Importance Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Dracula: The Victorian Vampire When you think of Dracula, do you think of the
bloodstained creature or the sophisticated stalker of the night that symbolizes the
Victorian era? Dracula was a gothic novel heavily influenced by the folklore of
vampires of the past and Vlad the Impaler, a strict ruler of Wallachia, leading to
Draculas cruel mannerisms. Another large contributor to Dracula was also the stern
Victorian erastandards, the era in which Bram Stoker composed the classic.
Therefore, the women needed to be proper and well mannered while the men had a
more important place in society. People looked down upon those who disobeyed
the laws at the time like anyone who was scantily clad. Victorian ideas leaked their
way into the literature. Writers disguised ideas and themes that would not be
classy, like sexual acts, by alluding to them with more appropriate actions.
Consequently, these influences led Stoker to insert many characteristics of the
Victorian era into the novel s setting of London. Since the Victorian ideas were put
into the story, many fears that were instilled in the people of the time were
characterized in the novel. In Bram Stoker s seminal novel Dracula, the anxieties
felt by the Victorian people are shown by both the human characters and Dracula
himself. First off, Jonathan is introduced as an average solicitor going to Castle
Transylvania and when he is trapped inside, a secret side to him is revealed. After
Jonathan is trapped by Dracula, he begins to deteriorate mentally after realizing that
he might never be freed from his imprisonment. After Dracula warns him to not
sleep elsewhere except his bedroom, Jonathan disobeys him and explores the castle,
stumbling into an ancient, abandoned room. After dozing off, he is awakened by
three voluptuous that emanate a dreadful aura. While still being in an exhausted
mood, he describes the scene as There was something about the m that made me
uneasy, some longing and at the same time some deadly fear. I felt in my heart a
wicked, burning desire that they would kiss me with those red lips (Stoker 39).
Jonathan hints at a hidden desire for the women and wants for them to have their way
with him. This scene shows that Jonathan has deep repressed

Theme Of Alienation In Frankenstein
People often find something wrong with things they do not view as normal, many
times, these different aspects of the world draw ire or even hatred of those around
them. Similarly, it is common that individuals within society will demean those who
look, act, or sound differently. This problem spans cultures and generations, and, as
with most problems, there are noble men and women who fight for the outside, the
alienated, in different ways. One such method is through literature. In Mary Shelley s
novel Frankenstein, the monster only wants to be accepted by the humanworld, but
man constantly rejects him. It shows how people judge based on appearance and
choose to alienate those who fail to conform to their expectations. Throughout the
story, the monster encounters different people who all reject him because of how
he appears. Victor spends two years attempting to create life, yet when he does, he
immediately hates his creation: now that I had finished, but the beauty of the
dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart (42). It is
shocking how quick Victor is to judge his own work. As soon as he comes to life
and Victor sees this monstrosity that he has created, he deems him hideous and
feels his past two years were a waste of time. This shows how superficial Victor is.
He spends years of work creating life, but decides that the monstrosity he creates is
ugly and just leaves. He abandons this monster when he is in his infancy. What
Victor does is
Nerve Conduction Study Nervous System
The nervous system, consists of two portions, the central and peripheral systems.
Each of the nerves running in the nerve system is made up of fibers and each one is
capable of generating an action potential (1). An action potential, also called a nerve
impulse, is a rapid, all or none electrical signal that allows long distance signaling in
the nervous system(2). The speeds at which these signals are sent are affected by
myelination. A nervethat is unmyelinated, is slower than one that is myelinated
because it acts as a form of insulation that allows for the transmission of a stronger
and faster signal (3). In order to test these speeds and to determine whether a nerve
fiber is myelinated or not, a nerve conduction study is used to test... Show more

Nietzsche Genealogy Of Morals
What are morals? Are they a certain thing that have to be done or a thing that is
learned? Are they going to be something that we use in good or bad times?
According to the dictionary morals is defined as relating to, or concerned with the
principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong. Simply
this means that your right of conduct is ethical. It is also stated that morals are
founded on the fundamental principles of right conduct rather than legalities or
custom. So what is Nietzsche: Genealogy of Morals going to tell us about these
morals that will show us that what we do is more about those humanly principles
rather than legal principle?
Nietzsche: Genealogy of Morals is consisted of 3 essays about morals. I will be
talking and summarizing the first essay that he wrote for the Genealogy of Morals.
Nietzsche expresses his dissatisfaction with certain English psychologists. He s not
too happy with them because they try to explain the origin or morality and claim to be
historians of such but they do not have the historical spirit. He states that their
theories are suggestive to the fact people use to benefit from unegoistic actions of
others. These same genealogists suggest that we have gone away from this type of
morality and truly forgot all about ourselves. As the readings continue it is
determined that Nietzsche does not agree with this because those who say goodness
was shown could not and did not define good. People only see

proposing a student mentorship program that targets all students enrolling at Mohave
Community College (MCC). The program will encourage participation from the
concurrent enrolled high school students, as well as students that are classified within
the at risk category. Each student at registration will receive information regarding
the program, and encourage to participate when attending orientation.
Identified Need
The implementation and formulation of the program are highly informed by the fact
that certain groups of students desperately need interventions to enhance their
academic performance and increase their retention rates (Stromel, 2000). The
program has identified six types of students who require mentor consisting of the
nontraditional adults; students in remedial studies; students exhibiting low classroom
participation; learners with low campus or community involvement; anyone who
lacks positive role models, and students complaining about time. Therefore, with the
tremendous increase of nontraditional and remedial students at MCC which, exhibit
low motivation skills, time management abilities, and failure to socialize (Campbell,

My First Year Of A Jam Packed Update Of All Things Nubc
Hi NUBCer s and friends and welcome to a jam packed update of all things NUBC.
Over the past few months crews have trained, travelled and competed at the
Australian University Rowing Championships, in Perth and had great success across
regattas in the CDRA. In particular NUBC showed their strength and versatility at the
CDRA Sprint Champs, where we claimed the highly competitive Linwood Throsby
Gift.
Further exciting news, we have been lucky enough to have Tony Blay volunteer his
time to coach members of NUBC. Currently Tony can be found out at the sheds on
Saturday squad mornings, where he coaches members of all different experience,
from social novices through to our more competitive members.
Finally, congratulations to all students who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

African American Student Achievement
Working thesis: The reason why African American students do not have a high rate of
academic achievement is because of racism and prejudices, the way they are educated
by educators, and their incomes.
Racism and prejudices seem to be one of the causes for why African American
students achieve low in academics. According to Garry Bold, even though funding
levels of black schools are the same as wealthy white schools, predominately black
schools will remain unequal. The reason why predominately black schools remain
unequal is because educational reforms such as the No Child Left Behind Act
(NCLB) keeps probing into black schools in attempt of creating a new and improved
way of teaching African Americans students so they can be like their white... Show

As discussed by Jabari Mahiri, African American culture and discussions about
African American youth cannot be eliminated when trying to help educate black
students. In detail, two African American teachers who taught in the same high school
had two different outcomes with their students. The reason there were two different
results between the teachers was because one teacher decided to introduced and
exposed the students to familiar faces that they can relate to and African American
issues. In addition, Quassan Castro Writer, Activist, Columnist, Poet, Educator and
Culture Critic suggested some tips and strategies to teach African American students
because he noticed that there is staggering amount of African American students
dropping out of high school and not attending college. Specifically, Castro mentioned
that main three tips all Educators Must Know About Educating African American and
Latino Students is 1) Connect with Parents. Establish a positive connection with
parents from the first day of class. A phone call to report good news is as equally
vital to the success of your student as informing parents when children are struggling
(Castro). 2) Cultural Images. Due to the overexposure to white identities in media,
African American and Latino students need to see images of themselves where they
are not portrayed as inferior or subordinate to white culture. (Castro). 3) Value of
Education and Real Life. Express the value of education. Explain the varying levels of
educational possibilities one can attain. Do not assume your students know how
many high school credits they need to graduate. Do not assume your students knows
what a bachelors, masters or doctorate program consists of (Castro). These particular
sources link the issue of African American students not having a high rate of
academic achievement because

Abstract Business corporations often require summarized pieces of data in the form
of pivot tables for efficient and strategic decision making. However, the use of pivot
tables poses certain data storage problems especially in the light of the need to have
the formulas stored with data. This paper presents one data storage situation where
using pivot tables for summarizing data was unsuitable because the storage was done
using a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, stored in XLS format. The project purposes to

This paper implements the solution using Microsoft Access 2007. In this case, the
table would have each Employee with the values such as Al and Clara, the Date
with values like 1/05/2011, and the Status with values o, wh, and wa. This would
result in several records per day but each record would represent only one
Employee. With this form of normalization, it is possible and plain to create the
desired pivot table. In fact, pivot tables generated from this normalized data would
be able to answer questions like which employee worked away on a certain day of
the month? Unfortunately, though, this data is stored in a way that the user
would not be able to see or even use it at times. There are many benefits of using a
database over spreadsheets for storing this kind of data. The following is a list of
some of these benefits to the sales business and users: * Database management

Total Quality Management in Construction
Total Quality Management In Construction
The major new element in world market competition is quality. During the 1970 s and
1980 s, the Japanese and their U.S. companies demonstrated that high quality is
achievable at lower costs and greater customer satisfaction. It was the result of using
the management principles of total quality management
(TQM). More and more U.S. companies have demonstrated that such achievements
are possible Using TQM as a new way to manage. Such companies also found that
they were recognized with everyone pulling in the same direction. Improvement had

If well crafted, the vision statement can serve through a torrent of change in product
and service technology. The strategic vision needs to consider both the external
customer and the employees, but should lack a defining or differentiating phrase
between them. For example, General Motors provides all employees a card with its
strategic vision, including a cause effect diagram that indicates the importance of
team work (figure 2). Simply stating a vision is not enough. It needs to be
demonstrated by the actions of the executives, managers , superiors, foremen, and
individuals.
It should be done continuously in all their actions and initiatives. Moreover,
deliberation must be exercised in developing these goals and strategies. They must
reflect the values and culture of the work force. While top management commitment
is essential, managers should realize when to lead and when to get out of the way. In
a sense quality management is management from the bottom up.
An atmosphere of responsibility must be created toward the customer for whatever
product is produced or service is rendered (fig.3, below).
2. Barrier Removal It is inevitable that change will be resisted. In fact, a great deal of
effort in quality management is expended in overcoming such resistance, usually by
allowing change to come from individuals directly involved, rather from management.
The whole idea of continuous improvement leads to continuous change.

The Merging of Cultures During the New World Discovery
The voyages of the Iberians marked history. The discovery of the new world meant
the unification of two old worlds. These old worlds had different beliefs, attitudes,
language, and values. The culture of these two worlds would never be the same.
The native peoples of America at the end of the fifteenth century ranged from the
simplest hunting fishing gathering societies to highly developed civilizations with
urban and peasant components. In spite of these notable differences, they were alike

Limb Reduction And The Prosthetic Rehabilitation Process
Introduction
There is an estimated 1.9 million people living with an amputated limb in America,
each day 500 more Americans loss a limb (Ziegler et al., 2008). Of those who lose
a limb later in life, 60 80% of them experience phantom limb pain. (Nikolajsen et
al., 2001) Phantom limb pain refers to a pain or sensation that seems to come from
the limb that was amputated. ( Nikolajsen et al., 2001) Of those who are congenital
amputees, an estimated 1500 of them are born with upper limb reduction, while
750 of them are born with a lower limb reduction. (Canfield et al, 2006) Limb
reduction refers to a defect during birth that causes a part of a limb or the entire
limb to fail to fully form during pregnancy. ( Vasluian et al, 2013) A look within the
quality of life of these various forms of amputees may produce viable information that
could be used to assist in the prosthetic rehabilitation process.
With such differences within the amputee community, there could be a possibility of
certain factors uniquely effecting the quality of life before, during, and after
prosthetic rehabilitation. Amputees and prosthetics are often viewed from a general
perspective by the public. We often do not look further then what we see with our
eyes, allowing sympathy to take the place of genuine research regarding amputees
and prosthetics. The rehabilitation process for those who require limb prosthesis can
be long, grueling, and emotional taxing (O Keeffe, 2011). The prosthetic rehabilitation

Bacchus with a panther depicts a nude male figure clothed in just a shroud posed
in an odd position feeding a small scaled panther. However, the closer a viewer
looks they can see the real story that takes place within the sculpture. Bacchus
looks to be taunting the panther by holding the fruit over his head. He is taunting
it in such a clear manner by his pose. One arm is place on his head while hanging
fruit of the panthers area to where he is sitting and Bacchus other hand is directly
hanging fruit above the animals mouth. Bacchus is shown in clear control of the
situation and even in full command. He is by how he tempts the panther yet it is

The Federalist Papers
Introduction
The Federalist Papers present a series of essays written by James Madison,
Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay. This volume of eighty five essays, written
between October 1787 and May 1788, is perhaps the most famous, and at the same
time the most important newspaper column ever published. These essays are
considered to be among the most important documents of the Founding period,
together with the Constitution and Civil Rights Act. In these essays the authors
provided facts and justification for the Constitution, with also raising and discussing
some of the most important political issues of the time. The sole purpose for writing
the essays was to convince people of the State of New York to ratify the U.S.
Constitution. People of New York and its political leaders were strongly against the
Constitution and they firmly opposed new government. The main reason for that is
the fact that the State of New York gain independence under the Articles of
Confederation and was becoming rich trough the trade. The citizens of this state
believed that they have no interest in ratifying the Constitution and joining the Union.
The writers of The Federalist Papers were very concerned that because of New York
s reluctance and decided to take the matter into their hands and came all the efforts in
order to change their minds. They were very well aware of the relationship between
human nature and popular government. Hamilton, Madison and Jay were
apprehensive of the ethics of the
Speech About Mao s Last Dancer
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, today we will celebrate the life of an
individual who achieved the impossible through perseverance and mental strength.
Also, I will convince you why the film Mao s Last Dancer MUST be screened at
this year s film festival. Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, In the truest sense, freedom
cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved. This insightful quote ultimately embodies
the notion of working hard for your freedom instead of waiting for it. So, precisely,
one will only have the strength to gain freedom by persevering throughout life s
obstacles and hardships. Li Cunxindid not expect freedom to arrive at his doorstep;
he was acutely aware that freedom and success are born from hard work; he suffered
through blood, sweat and tears throughout his whole journey to earn his freedom.
Li s ruthless childhood experiences taught him to persevere through difficult times.
Throughout his life, he had tolerated some enjoyable events like playing in the
snow with his brothers, yet some draining events like discovering that his Niang
fainted whilst on her trip to the dam. Li s Niang was his number one supporter. She
continually gave him tough love and encouraged him to take this chance to escape
from this cruel world. (and) Go, and do something special with your (his) life!
(p.96). The world of poverty was tough to escape but Li s mental strength assisted
him into doing so. If it weren t for his Niang, he would not be where he is today.

United States Judicial System
The Judicial system in the United States is a system that provides Courts with the
power and authority to administer justice, though that justice must be within the
bounds of the law. As some laws in the U.S. tend to be ambiguous, or lacking in
specific direction as applied to a particular case, the Court system is also responsible
for interpreting the laws, and ensuring they are applied correctly on both the state and
federal levels.
While the Judicial system is not authorized by the U.S. Constitution to make laws, it
applies the facts of each case to the existing laws in order to reach a decision that
ensures justice is served. In some cases, the Court is required to make a decision
about how a law should be applied to the particular circumstances
The Effects Of Breathing During Air ( Control Treatment )...
Figure 1. Compared effects of breathing in air (control treatment) and a simulated
dive (apnea in 10C water) on human heart rate (n=6). Bars represent the combined
mean heart rate of the subjects for both treatments over each measurement period.
Error bars represent 95% CI.
As seen in Figure 1, in the 15 seconds prior to treatment exposure, the mean heart
rates of the subjects were the same, with the control treatment of breathing in air at
85.311.7 bpm, and the simulated dive test treatment at 85.312.1 bpm. During the first
15 seconds of treatment exposure the mean heart rates decreased slightly with the
control treatment at 81.810.0 bpm, which was not significantly different from the test
treatment (80.59.0 bpm). The lowest mean heart rate was observed in the test
treatment between 15 and 30 seconds of treatment exposure (67.78.4 bpm), which did
not significantly differ from the control treatment that remained relatively constant
(81.311.2 bpm). The mean heart rates did not significantly differ between
measurement periods.
DISCUSSION
We hypothesized that humans would exhibit a diving response similar to aquatic
mammals and birds. If the proposed hypothesis is right, then we should observe a
decrease in heart rate from resting heart rate during test (simulated dive) treatment
exposure, and we should not observe any change in heart rate from resting heart rate
during control (breathing in air) treatment exposure. This can be explained by the fact
that the diving response,

Romantic Idea of Outer Space
There are currently several competing visions of space culture. These are the
romantic ideal, of space being the final frontier, the minutia of people who act,
emotionless like machines and the post apocalyptic view of a desolated wasteland.
This idea of space power has always been present in the United States since the
1960s. In American culture space explorationand discovery has always been
fascinating to the American society. . In movies like Space Cowboys and
Armageddon, show the shooting up of rockets into space as a glorious experience.
One of the most recognized visions of space culture is this romantic ideal of space
being the final frontier. This romantic ideal connects to neo global colonialism, being

Some people still believe that the budget can be reduced by utilizing recycled shuttle
parts, but, with no guarantee, the rocket would be used again (Matthews 1). Critics,
against the continuation of dismantling, argue that if the dismantling continues then
an estimate of about 7,000 shuttle workers are expecting to lose their jobs in Florida
alone (Matthews 1). Therefore, many people, against the dismantling procedure,
consider that the persistence of this method will only cause more unemployment,
which could be more catastrophic to the economy than the continuance of space
exploration.
WALL E, a Disney s Pixar movie, shows different themes that relate to the
competing visions of space culture. These are the post apocalyptic and futuristic
view, of humans being able to live in outer space with advanced technology
facilitating their everyday lives. The film starts out with a hot steamy, deserted
wasteland which used to a thriving city before Earth became uninhabitable and
ecologically trashed planet. WALL E, the main character, who is a romantic,
collector of artifacts and robot trash collector, is left with his friend, a cockroach,
to help clean up the Earth. After seven hundred years of civilization living in outer
space, aboard the axiom, a spaceship sends Eve, WALL E s true soul mate, a new
technology robot, back to Earth to look for any living proof of life sustenance.
WALL E falls in love with Eve. Eve
Marcus Brutus In Julius Caesar Essay
Marcus Brutus function in the play is to kill Caesar and win over the people of
Rome. He believes that Caesar will become a tyrant and enslave the people. When
he says, Than that poor Brutus, with himself at war, Forgets the shows of love to
other men, we start to realize his decision to stab Caesar in the back wasn t an easy
one (1.2.51 53). As the reader, we get to know him through his soliloquies that his
motives that drove him to action. Brutus had an internal conflict between his
loyalty to Rome and to his friend, who seems to care for power rather the people.
Unlike the conspirators, Brutus kills Caesar because he loves Rome, not out of
envy. Brutus morality is to be honorable and noble, which causes him to assume a
naive view of the world. He is unable to see through the roles being played by
Cassius, Casca, and Antony. He does not recognize the bogus letters as having been
sent by Cassius, although they contain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has conflicting thoughts toward the conspiracy, but he becomes more
favorable following his becoming a member of the plot against Caesar. He tells the
the conspirators not to kill Antony because the scene would be too bloody, but they
re already agreeing to killing Caesar (Honigmann). They also wash their hands
with Caesar s blood to make a dramatic point. Brutus is definitely mistaken by
thinking that Caesar was a tyrant. In Antony s speech he talks explains how Caesar
couldn t be a tyrant, but Brutus never imagined how his judgement could be wrong.
He states, I thrice presented him a kingly crown,Which he did thrice refuse: was this
ambition?Yet Brutus says he was ambitious; how could Caesar be a tyrant than
(3.2.95 96)? Brutus s idealism causes him to make several poor judgements and
obstruct his ability to understand those who are less attentive than he. If he stopped
and really looked at the situation that he was in he would have looked at Caesar from
another perspective, instead of
Titanic Film Analysis
The film Titanic (1997) leading by the famous cinema director James Cameron and
whose principal protagonists are Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. This film
tells an exciting story of love between two young people from different social classes
who will meet each other when they get aboard of this extravagant boat(Cervantes). I
think this movie was very successful due to different reasons. Among them I can say
that their actors played a fundamental role in the creation of this film. The
ostentatious scenery that was used to mount the film and to narrate for us the
catastrophe happened with luxury of detail. This film also tells about an exciting and
classic love story between two young people from different social classes, which in
my opinion was the point that attracted that much public to love this film.
Titanic tells a true story happened on April 14, 1912 during the excursion of the
Titanic transatlantic. The director mounts the scene of this story in all detail,
carrying out extensive research on what happened the night the ship crashed against
an iceberg, he also spent a large amount of money to recreate every detail. A
wonderful love story between two young people who were forbidden to be together
because of their different social classes. Rose (Kate Winslet) is an upper class young
woman who is forced by her mother to get marry Caledon Hockley, a prominent
businessman with whom Rose s family was to maintain high class status. During
this trip Rose meets a young painter (Jack Dawson) who lived with very little in his
pockets, he is a free soul who travels and knows the world thanks to his talent with
painting. This boy managed to captivate the young girl, because in him, she found a
way out, something different from what she used to live with. This is how this love
story begins to become one of the most successful films.
The actors play the perfect role in this story, each one has its own personal
characteristics, which contribute greatly to this film. Leonardo DiCaprio is Jack
Dawson, making a correct interpretation. From my point of view looks like the
typical guy who lives day by day without worrying about what is going to happen.
Kate Winslet is Rose. In the first place it is necessary to emphasize
The Women’S Rights Convention Took Place In Seneca
Falls,
The Women s Rights Convention took place in Seneca Falls, New York 1848. This
was the first ever women s rights convention in the United States, and with almost
200 women in attendance. This convention was organized by Lucretia Mott and
Elizabeth Kelly Stanton, who were both abolitionists that met at the 1840 World Anti
Slavery Convention in London. In 1848 at Elizabeth Stanton s home near Seneca
Falls, the two women, Mott and Stanton, were working with Martha Wright, Mary
Ann McClintock and Jane Hunt, to send out a call for a women s conference to be
held at Seneca Falls. On July 19, 1848, 200 women gathered at the Wesleyan Chapel.

Women began entering male dominated professions such as law, medicine, clergy
and corporate. Women also began to commence several new institutions. The
suffrage movement allowed for women to fix their place in society and take a
closer step to full equality of people in America. After the suffrage movement,
women s economic roles increased in society. Since there were now more
educational opportunities, it led more and more women to find and use their
potential for meaningful and professional careers. Women s salaries also increased
but not to the amount men had received. However, this was still a huge
achievement for women because it was such a huge step from what it had been
before. The resistance of giving women the right to vote began to cease when the
territorial legislature of Wyoming granted women the vote in 1869; it was the first
permanent suffrage law in U.S. history. By the 1890 s many states had granted
suffrage. By 1913 there were 12 states and the National Woman s Party, under
leadership of Alice Paul, decided to harness the voting power of women in those
states to push a suffrage resolution through congress. The country s involvement in
WWI needed the help of women; which then provided the suffragists their power.
When the U.S. entered the war in 1917, a woman s suffrage amendment was
submitted into the House of Representatives. By 1919, it was passed by both houses

A Interview About A Former Florida Atlantic University...
As I reflect on my life, I can t imagine my life without sports. Sports is my passion
and the one thing that keeps me sane and happy. This assignment has showed me
the love I have for sports and how it consumes my whole life. My whole life
revolves around it. As I am sitting down writing this paper, I am listening to an
interview about a former Florida Atlantic University football player who is now
dealing with life after the NFL. His name is Christian Milstead, a 2015 Exercise
Science and Health Promotion graduate. After the 2015 NFL draft, Milstead was
invited to take part of the Green Bay Packers rookie minicamp. Unfortunately, he
wasn t one of the 300 people who made it on a NFL roster. Milstead, however, life
is going great. Of course, he would love to be playing on Sundays, but he is
enjoying life as a Personal Trainer Director for one of LA Fitness locations in
South Florida. I thought coming out of college I would working for a network or
an organization as a sports reporter. Seven months later, I am still trying to adjust
to life as a teacher. Every day I miss waking up every morning to go and report on
FAU. I was a sports director for FAU s student media outlet OwlTV and I was more
of a sideline reporter than a director. I enjoyed reporting about the football players
trying to get to the next level which was the NFL or former NBA veteran Michael
Curry attempting to bring success to the men s basketball program. Since April, I
have put down the microphone, mainly
My Aunt Julie Is One Of The Most Amazing, Sweet, And...
My aunt Julie is one of the most amazing, sweet, and hilarious people I have ever met.
She has the most beautiful and kind soul. She was also born with a severe mental
and physical handicap called Cerebral Palsy. It is a condition that occurs when the
brain hasn t completely developed at birth, in Julie s case she was born
prematurely and was also a twin, making her even smaller and more frail at birth.
Julie was born not breathing and the doctors couldn t get her to start breathing for
5 minutes after she was born. She is now in her early fifties, but only has the
mental capability of a 78 year old child. She has been in a wheelchair for her whole
life and never even taken one step, she also has very minimal control of her arms
and hands. Julie also has a very hard time controlling her temper and her emotions,
I can only assume that it is because she feels as though she is trapped in her own
body and will never be able to get out of it and feel free.
Julie has this crazy love for Nascar and has never missed watching a race. Everyone
has their little obsessions, for my six year old nephew it is toy cars, my older brother
it is playing the guitar, for me it is Cadbury Eggs, but for Julie it is Nascar races and
the Nascar driver Dale
Earnhardt JR. In 2013 my mom and I had decided to take Julie to go see the Daytona
500 in
Daytona Florida. This was such a huge deal for Julie because she had never been out
of the state of Utah let alone on a plane halfway across the country,
Mentor And Mentee Relationships From The Army
Mentor and Mentee Relationships in the Army
Matthew P. Styles
24 October 2017
Abstract
In this paper I will be discussing the dynamic and effects of the mentorship
relationship in relation to the Army. I will accomplish this by using Army doctrine
and personal experience. First I will explain mentorship as defined by the Army. I
will then discuss the characteristics of a mentorship relationship. I will cover the
basic principles to be used to define the relationship. Next I will discuss
considerations for the selection process for the mentor and mentee. Additionally, I
will cover expectations a mentee would have of their mentor and the responsibilities
of the mentor. I will clarify the four stages of mentorship, the application of them, ...

It is common for this to occur naturally without the relationship being formally
defined or initially acknowledged by either. The mentor will advise and counsel the
mentee on personal, professional, and career goals through the sharing of personal
experience, encouragement, feedback, and guidance. (FM 6 22, 2015)
Now that we have defined mentorship we can further define the relationship between
the mentor and mentee. As mentioned, mentorship should extend beyond the chain of
command. This is recommended so as to not create the image of favoritism within
your unit. (FM 6 22, 2015). Mentorship can easily be confused with leadership. It is
every Leader s responsibility to develop every Soldier within their ranks. If a Leader
chooses to be the mentor of one of their Soldiers, this could cross the professional
threshold and could be perceived as favoritism. If a mentor should not be a direct
Leader then how should one select a mentor? There are many things to consider
when selecting a mentor. A mentor should be someone that you look up to. It should
be someone that is not only respected by you but respected by others. A mentor
should be a person held in high regard amongst their seniors, peers, and subordinates.
They should display the Army Values and leader attributes. They do not have to share
the same occupational specialty, although it many times is the case. In many cases it
will be a
What Is The Conflict In The Scarlet Timmernel
The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Emma Orczy, demonstrates a man versus man conflict,
with Percy Blakeney as the protagonist who is fighting to keep his identity secret
from Chauvelin. Percy Blakeney, the Scarlet Pimpernel, was a brave individual who
determined to save French aristocrats from the guillotine. However, Chauvelin, a
French agent, was determined to discover the identity of the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Chauvelin desired to find the Scarlet Pimpernel in France, and have him executed by
means of the guillotine. Therefore, he enlisted the help of Lady Blakeney, through
means of threatening her dear brother. At the time, she had no knowledge that her
husband was, in reality, the Scarlet Pimpernel. Therefore, Lady Blakeney unwillingly

Evaluation Of Hedonic Price Model
4. Methodology
4.1. Analytical Framework (Generalized Spatial Two Stage Least Square: GS2SLS)
Hedonic price model has been developed and widely used to identify the factors
explaining housing prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional
two statistical issues such as endogeneity between land use and housing price and
spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. First, endogeneity should be
carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing prices
because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For
example, better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices
because such land use features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing
prices. Previous studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially
affected by neighboring housing prices or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do
not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated values can be biased and
inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use generalized
spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and
spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations;
P=О»WP+О±L М‚+ОІX+u (5) u=ПЃWu+Пµ Because the hedonic price model
generally uses a log form of housing prices, our final empirical model used in this
study is expressed as the following equations;
lnвЃЎ(P)=О»W[ln(P)]+О±L М‚+ОІX+u(6) u=ПЃWu+Пµ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix
A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any
spatial units. It has two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and
distance based weight matrix. Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement,
distance based weight matrix is more appropriate when the size of spatial units is
irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). Hence, the spatial weight matrix used in
this analysis is expressed as the follows;
W_ij={■(1 if d_ij≤C @0 if d_ij C or i=j)┤(7)
where C denotes a distance cutoff
The Principles Qualities Of A Good Teacher
In contrast, the type of inquire based approach that is taught in some of the SKE
lessons at University of Sussex allows the student to understand why a method
works and encourage a comprehension of the mechanics behind the steps taken to
solve a problem. Personally, I have noticed that as I gain confidence in my
mathematical ability, these sessions become more enjoyable. Still, to achieve
confidence and be able to follow these lessons, I need to familiarize myself with a
method beforehand. For me this is most effectively achieved by solving series of
example problems by a given sequence of steps before embarking on a journey of
understanding the reasoning behind each step. These inquiry based lessons,
therefore, are most valuable when preceded by lessons with more direct instructions
and teacher led demonstrations. Thus, this supports my vision that since all students
have their own preferred method for learning, even if they are not aware of it, the
ability to explain a topic in a number of different ways is one of the principle
qualities of a good teacher.
Interestingly, as part of the SKE course I was given the opportunity to spend some
time in a college, observing and assisting in lessons to students that needed to retake
their GSCE exams. The main method of teaching in these classes was purely
instrumental, with the goal to equip the students with the knowledge to pass their
GSCE exams but without any deeper understanding of the methods. No emphasis was
put on
Social Adversity In Out Of This Furnace
Literature helps mirror some of the issues that individuals face in the society. Authors
use fictional or real situations, in some cases, to demonstrate the extent to which a
community suffers from various injustices, which undermine wholesome optimal
function in different sectors. Historically, the United States has had issues with social
inclusivity following oppression of immigrants, limited opportunities for minority
groupings, racism, discrimination, among other things. In his novel, Out of This
Furnace, Thomas Bell echoes the experiences of the Kracha family, where he
chronicles the various life experiences from one generation to the next. Bell centers
on the life of steel workers and their experiences in America. Despite... Show more

One would actually be justified to assume that the steel mill company is
representative of the unfair treatment workers received from the various industries
they worked for. In order to echo the discrimination and oppression that immigrants
experienced, Thomas H. Coode, in an essay, Many Miles to the Middle Class:
Reflections on Three Narratives of Life in Mine and Mill Towns states, Mike s story,
describes turn of the century steel mills as booming; but long and dangerous hours in
the mills deprive workers of family time, and poverty and meanness plague Slovak
families whose occupational ambitions compete with the ethnic prejudices of bosses
and the corporations, (94). In this statement, Coode makes it clear that corporations
during that time were not sensitive to the welfare of their workers, which only means
that they were only focused on making profit. They sacrificed good working
conditions and sustainable salaries for huge returns to enrich themselves. Such is a
demonstration of marginalization and oppression of the poor. It is evident that Mary
and her family suffer social exclusion, which undermined their wellbeing. In the
novel, Mike talks reflecting the true nature of the society in which they lived. He
says, But I m a Hunky and they don t give good jobs to Hunkies, (Bell, 185). This
particular statement demonstrates the limiting and oppressive nature of the American
society. Putting this into context, Nancy Hewitt, in her book, A

There are various problems that face the companies operating in the industries
critical to technology. One of the companies is HID Asia Pacific Limited. The
company operates in the technology industry. This means that its products offer
technological services and solutions. The market for such products is always

Tattoos And Consumer Culture
In recent days, the consumption of tattoos may be considered contradictory in its
ability to make someone be different and its potential symbolism of various
subcultures allowing the consumer to fit in. While many cultures around the world
started using tattoos as a way to mark status, spiritual devotion, bravery and
protection, Western society began using tattoos as a symbol of criminality and
deviance. This perception of degeneracy has been argued to derive from European
middle class ideas of evolutionary superiority of their civilised society versus other
savage ones (1993, p. 10). With the rise of the rock star in the seventies, many
subcultures began to use tattooing to defy the dominant ideology of an ink free body
being society s attractive norm (Kosut 2013, p. 143; Sternberg, 2017 a). In recent
years, popular cultureand incorporation altered mainstream perceptions of tattoos and
challenged the traditional ideologies connecting tattoos and deviance (Kjeldgaard
Bengtsson 2005, p. 172). By exploring the development of tattoos in consumer
culture, this essay examines the contrasting beliefs regarding whether consumption
practices are sites of resistance to the dominant order or sites of conformity.
The history and social significance of tattoos is very complex, as stated by
Karacaoglan (2012):
Although the practice of tattooing has been in existence for millennia, tattoos have
acquired renewed and widespread currency in contemporary Western culture.

Art Definition Essay. Art Thesis Examples - 20 Clever and Cool Old Book Art Examples ...

  • 1. Art Definition Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Art Definition" can be both a stimulating and challenging endeavor. The difficulty arises from the broad and subjective nature of the subject itself. Art, in its various forms, encompasses a vast array of expressions, styles, and interpretations, making it a complex and multifaceted theme to dissect. To embark on this essay, one must grapple with the elusive nature of art, attempting to capture its essence within the constraints of language. Defining art requires navigating through the diverse opinions and perspectives that surround it, as artists, critics, and scholars often offer conflicting interpretations. The challenge lies in striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive overview and delving into specific aspects that contribute to the richness of artistic expression. Moreover, the very act of defining art can be seen as an artistic endeavor in itself. Writers are tasked with conveying the nuances, emotions, and intellectual depth that art embodies, while being mindful of the limitations of words. Selecting the right words to encapsulate the beauty, meaning, and significance of art poses a formidable challenge, as language may fall short in capturing the full spectrum of human creativity. Despite the challenges, navigating through the diverse dimensions of art offers a rewarding experience. The process of researching, contemplating, and expressing one's thoughts on art fosters a deeper appreciation for the subject. It encourages introspection and exploration of personal perspectives, leading to a more profound understanding of the role art plays in shaping culture, emotions, and human connection. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the definition of art demands a delicate balance between the expansive nature of the subject and the constraints of language. It is a journey that involves navigating through diverse opinions, interpreting various forms of expression, and ultimately attempting to encapsulate the ineffable essence of art. It is both a challenging and rewarding endeavor that encourages a deeper engagement with the complexities of human creativity. • 2. Struggles Of A Rapid Ascension Of Fame Struggles of a Rapid Ascension to Fame Rap star G Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum, may only be twenty seven years old but he has played on the same stage as legends such as Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles to U2 and John Denver to Prince and Macklemore and many more. Coming off his sophomore album, When It s Dark Out released December 4th, 2015, his career is reaching new levels of popularity which isn t all it s cut out to be. This album, which featured his triple platinum single Me, Myself I featuring Bebe Rexha, brings a spotlight to tragedies in his past and the rollercoaster that was the past two years , said Gerald in an interview with billboard.com s Adelle Platon. His most popular song, Me, Myself, I released on October 14th, 2015, was released as the lead single for his upcoming album, When It s Dark Out. Me, Myself, I is in a moderato tempo and in a c minor key, a common key and tempo among the hip hop genre. In Me Myself and I by G Eazy, Gerald comes to terms with the aspects of being famous and forever in the spotlight, which he wanted but didn t realize everything else that came with it. He does this through his thought out lyrics and his use of artistic discretion in the music video that he released shortly after the song. Within his music video, G Eazy begins by being driven back home by his foreign girlfriend, a status symbol of superstar lifestyle, and when he gets home he is thrown a surprise partyfor his birthday. Just before the beginning of

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ! ! ! Defining Your Business The first step in developing an effective MBO program is to define your business. Ask yourself the following questions: ! ! ! What business am I in? Is my definition right for today s market? Do I need to change my business to meet emerging customer needs? A clear vision of your business is crucial for planning your marketing, product development, buildings and equipment, and financial and staff needs. For example, a drop in sales caused a small business manufacturer of metal trash cans to reexamine its product. To regain lost sales, the owner decided to redefine the product as metal containers and to develop a new marketing plan. Setting Goals Long range business goals will be the cornerstone of your company s MBO program. To achieve these goals, you must have a method to communicate them to your managers and employees. One way is to bring managers and employees into the process by asking them to help formulate the company s short and long range goals. If they have a role in establishing the goals, they will be more committed to achieving them. All goals should relate to and support the long range objectives for the company. In this way, you can ensure that the goals of all levels of management are consistent. If goals are incompatible, you may find that employees feel like the middle manager of a research and development company who exclaimed in a seminar, How can I set my goals when I don
  • 4. Global Sustainability and the Water Supply The increase of global urban population has become a critical issue that the world is facing; as the world population continuously increases, the need for natural resources (Land, water, energy and food) also increases. However, natural resources are known to be finite. Which is why sustainability has become a major concept during recent times. Based on the US Environmental Protection Agency (ND), Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations. Bloomberg, an international news agency in the US, reported that it was recently found by an Ernst Young study that 76% of corporate representatives think water, which is what this essay will discuss, is the top resource at risk. (Bloomberg: 2013) Water makes up around 70% of the world s surface. Less than 1% is freshwater, and only 0.4% of it is accessible for human use. (Global change: 2006) These statistics prove to show how water is limited within the cycle it goes through. The global demand for water has vastly increased in the past few decades, making demand exceed what is available for direct use. Nearly 768 Million of the human population, roughly 1 in 10 people, does not have access

  • 6. Lambert Simnel as a Greater Threat to the Security of... Lambert Simnel as a Greater Threat to the Security of Henry VII than Perkin Warbec After Bosworth, Henry s most immediate and perhaps greatest problem was ensuring that he kept the crown. from Henry VII by R. Turvey and C. Steinsberg. This was very true, as throughout Henry s reign he faced many threats because as King he wasn t established and therefore vulnerable to challenge. Also there were still Yorkists in power who wanted to claim the throne back from the usurper King and there was also strong foreign support for any potential threat towards Henry. A threat that Henry did face throughout most of his reign was the threat from Pretenders, and none came as more as threat than of Lambert... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Warbeck was actually from Tournai in Flanders who was a personable, quite handsome and charming young man. Simnels and Warbeck s claims to the throne were great threats to Henry s security, because of Henry s weak claim to the throne; therefore, it was possible for anyone to usurp his throne like he had done. Henry claim to the throne was weak as his claim only came from a female line, as he was a descendant of Henry V s wife and the Beaufort family. But his victory at the Battle of Bosworth, enabled him as many would say to become a usurper King and Henry said he was given the throne as he has divine sanction. Both Simnel and Warbeck on their own didn t pose a great threat to Henry s security, but they did with the support they individually gained. Compared to Warbeck, Simnel internally posed a greater threat to Henry s security due to the internal support that Simnel had. Unlike Warbeck, Simnel had the support of a great noble power supporting him, and that was John de La Pole, Earl of Lincoln, who was heir to Richard III. As the heir to Richard III, John de la Pole was a major potential threat to Henry VIII. But the greater threat that John de la Pole posed and the impact of his support was that it enabled Simnel to link his internal support and foreign support (therefore, linking internal and external threat), because of John de la Pole being the nephew of
  • 7. John s Migration To Angola By the age of 18, John had to join the military service. He was gone for one year, but he and Mary would send letters to each other every week. It was hard for him to be away from his family and Mary, but John learned that maybe his dreams were not big enough. He started dreaming about more than just being a farmer and live in his hometown for the rest of his life. After serving his country for a year, John came back home, but his dreams were bigger than ever. Another two years went by and John saved as much money as he could. • 8. Essay On American Refugees The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the early 1900 s. Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker, and an immigrant. Over the years, different associations, agencies, official acts and laws have come into existence to limit who can be awarded the title of refugee. They would start by using tools like knives to create the individual parts of the product. Then they would have to combine each part to form the final product while making cuts to adjust the parts so they could fit and work together. This process of production was very time consuming and it required a lot of effort both of which are the reasons why items that were made before the 18th century were highly priced. After the success that Ford s industry got because of the assembly line idea, many other industry took haste and also snatched the assembly line production method which resulted in a global manufacturing revolution. Following this revolution there were many changes that occurred in the industrial world but the biggest change would probably be the decreased cost of manufactured goods. The total cost of manufacturing commodities like automobiles has been minimized because of the benefits that assembly lines brought to the world such as increased quantity of production objects, better working condition for the employed, and more job opportunities for a wider range of people. The application of assembly lines in manufacturing increased production rates because workers were able to complete the construction of products much faster. Back in the day, artifacts were made by different crafters so even the same artifacts would vary depending on the crafter that built them. Also whatever artifact that a crafter created would be expensive since it takes its time consuming which meant that he wouldn t have made much of it. However, assembly lines have helped changed this for the better. For example, Ford s industry was able to make all of their cars exactly the same and this was only possible because the parts used to assemble these cars like the tires, gas tanks, and valves were all interchangeable.

  • 14. The Importance Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula Dracula: The Victorian Vampire When you think of Dracula, do you think of the bloodstained creature or the sophisticated stalker of the night that symbolizes the Victorian era? Dracula was a gothic novel heavily influenced by the folklore of vampires of the past and Vlad the Impaler, a strict ruler of Wallachia, leading to Draculas cruel mannerisms. Another large contributor to Dracula was also the stern Victorian erastandards, the era in which Bram Stoker composed the classic. Therefore, the women needed to be proper and well mannered while the men had a more important place in society. People looked down upon those who disobeyed the laws at the time like anyone who was scantily clad. Victorian ideas leaked their way into the literature. Writers disguised ideas and themes that would not be classy, like sexual acts, by alluding to them with more appropriate actions. Consequently, these influences led Stoker to insert many characteristics of the Victorian era into the novel s setting of London. Since the Victorian ideas were put into the story, many fears that were instilled in the people of the time were characterized in the novel. In Bram Stoker s seminal novel Dracula, the anxieties felt by the Victorian people are shown by both the human characters and Dracula himself. First off, Jonathan is introduced as an average solicitor going to Castle Transylvania and when he is trapped inside, a secret side to him is revealed. After Jonathan is trapped by Dracula, he begins to deteriorate mentally after realizing that he might never be freed from his imprisonment. After Dracula warns him to not sleep elsewhere except his bedroom, Jonathan disobeys him and explores the castle, stumbling into an ancient, abandoned room. After dozing off, he is awakened by three voluptuous that emanate a dreadful aura. While still being in an exhausted mood, he describes the scene as There was something about the m that made me uneasy, some longing and at the same time some deadly fear. I felt in my heart a wicked, burning desire that they would kiss me with those red lips (Stoker 39). Jonathan hints at a hidden desire for the women and wants for them to have their way with him. This scene shows that Jonathan has deep repressed

Similarly, it is common that individuals within society will demean those who look, act, or sound differently. This problem spans cultures and generations, and, as with most problems, there are noble men and women who fight for the outside, the alienated, in different ways. One such method is through literature. In Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, the monster only wants to be accepted by the humanworld, but man constantly rejects him. It shows how people judge based on appearance and choose to alienate those who fail to conform to their expectations. Throughout the story, the monster encounters different people who all reject him because of how he appears. Victor spends two years attempting to create life, yet when he does, he immediately hates his creation: now that I had finished, but the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart (42). According to the dictionary morals is defined as relating to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong. Simply this means that your right of conduct is ethical. It is also stated that morals are founded on the fundamental principles of right conduct rather than legalities or custom. So what is Nietzsche: Genealogy of Morals going to tell us about these morals that will show us that what we do is more about those humanly principles rather than legal principle? Nietzsche: Genealogy of Morals is consisted of 3 essays about morals. I will be talking and summarizing the first essay that he wrote for the Genealogy of Morals. Nietzsche expresses his dissatisfaction with certain English psychologists. He s not too happy with them because they try to explain the origin or morality and claim to be historians of such but they do not have the historical spirit. He states that their theories are suggestive to the fact people use to benefit from unegoistic actions of others. These same genealogists suggest that we have gone away from this type of morality and truly forgot all about ourselves. As the readings continue it is determined that Nietzsche does not agree with this because those who say goodness was shown could not and did not define good. People only see

Limb Reduction And The Prosthetic Rehabilitation Process Introduction There is an estimated 1.9 million people living with an amputated limb in America, each day 500 more Americans loss a limb (Ziegler et al., 2008). Of those who lose a limb later in life, 60 80% of them experience phantom limb pain. ( Nikolajsen et al., 2001) Of those who are congenital amputees, an estimated 1500 of them are born with upper limb reduction, while 750 of them are born with a lower limb reduction. (Canfield et al, 2006) Limb reduction refers to a defect during birth that causes a part of a limb or the entire limb to fail to fully form during pregnancy. ( Vasluian et al, 2013) A look within the quality of life of these various forms of amputees may produce viable information that could be used to assist in the prosthetic rehabilitation process. With such differences within the amputee community, there could be a possibility of certain factors uniquely effecting the quality of life before, during, and after prosthetic rehabilitation. Amputees and prosthetics are often viewed from a general perspective by the public. We often do not look further then what we see with our eyes, allowing sympathy to take the place of genuine research regarding amputees and prosthetics. This volume of eighty five essays, written between October 1787 and May 1788, is perhaps the most famous, and at the same time the most important newspaper column ever published. These essays are considered to be among the most important documents of the Founding period, together with the Constitution and Civil Rights Act. In these essays the authors provided facts and justification for the Constitution, with also raising and discussing some of the most important political issues of the time. The sole purpose for writing the essays was to convince people of the State of New York to ratify the U.S. Constitution. People of New York and its political leaders were strongly against the Constitution and they firmly opposed new government. The main reason for that is the fact that the State of New York gain independence under the Articles of Confederation and was becoming rich trough the trade. The citizens of this state believed that they have no interest in ratifying the Constitution and joining the Union. The writers of The Federalist Papers were very concerned that because of New York s reluctance and decided to take the matter into their hands and came all the efforts in order to change their minds. Compared effects of breathing in air (control treatment) and a simulated dive (apnea in 10C water) on human heart rate (n=6). Bars represent the combined mean heart rate of the subjects for both treatments over each measurement period. Error bars represent 95% CI. As seen in Figure 1, in the 15 seconds prior to treatment exposure, the mean heart rates of the subjects were the same, with the control treatment of breathing in air at 85.311.7 bpm, and the simulated dive test treatment at 85.312.1 bpm. During the first 15 seconds of treatment exposure the mean heart rates decreased slightly with the control treatment at 81.810.0 bpm, which was not significantly different from the test treatment (80.59.0 bpm). The lowest mean heart rate was observed in the test treatment between 15 and 30 seconds of treatment exposure (67.78.4 bpm), which did not significantly differ from the control treatment that remained relatively constant (81.311.2 bpm). The mean heart rates did not significantly differ between measurement periods. DISCUSSION We hypothesized that humans would exhibit a diving response similar to aquatic mammals and birds. If the proposed hypothesis is right, then we should observe a decrease in heart rate from resting heart rate during test (simulated dive) treatment exposure, and we should not observe any change in heart rate from resting heart rate during control (breathing in air) treatment exposure. This can be explained by the fact that the diving response,

This film tells an exciting story of love between two young people from different social classes who will meet each other when they get aboard of this extravagant boat(Cervantes). I think this movie was very successful due to different reasons. Among them I can say that their actors played a fundamental role in the creation of this film. The ostentatious scenery that was used to mount the film and to narrate for us the catastrophe happened with luxury of detail. This film also tells about an exciting and classic love story between two young people from different social classes, which in my opinion was the point that attracted that much public to love this film. Titanic tells a true story happened on April 14, 1912 during the excursion of the Titanic transatlantic. The director mounts the scene of this story in all detail, carrying out extensive research on what happened the night the ship crashed against an iceberg, he also spent a large amount of money to recreate every detail. A wonderful love story between two young people who were forbidden to be together because of their different social classes. Rose (Kate Winslet) is an upper class young woman who is forced by her mother to get marry Caledon Hockley, a prominent businessman with whom Rose s family was to maintain high class status. During this trip Rose meets a young painter (Jack Dawson) who lived with very little in his pockets, he is a free soul who travels and knows the world thanks to his talent with painting. This boy managed to captivate the young girl, because in him, she found a way out, something different from what she used to live with. This is how this love story begins to become one of the most successful films. The actors play the perfect role in this story, each one has its own personal characteristics, which contribute greatly to this film. Leonardo DiCaprio is Jack Dawson, making a correct interpretation. From my point of view looks like the typical guy who lives day by day without worrying about what is going to happen. If a Leader chooses to be the mentor of one of their Soldiers, this could cross the professional threshold and could be perceived as favoritism. If a mentor should not be a direct Leader then how should one select a mentor? There are many things to consider when selecting a mentor. A mentor should be someone that you look up to. It should be someone that is not only respected by you but respected by others. A mentor should be a person held in high regard amongst their seniors, peers, and subordinates. They should display the Army Values and leader attributes. They do not have to share the same occupational specialty, although it many times is the case. In many cases it will be a

What Is The Conflict In The Scarlet Timmernel The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Emma Orczy, demonstrates a man versus man conflict, with Percy Blakeney as the protagonist who is fighting to keep his identity secret from Chauvelin. Percy Blakeney, the Scarlet Pimpernel, was a brave individual who determined to save French aristocrats from the guillotine. However, Chauvelin, a French agent, was determined to discover the identity of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Chauvelin desired to find the Scarlet Pimpernel in France, and have him executed by means of the guillotine. Therefore, he enlisted the help of Lady Blakeney, through means of threatening her dear brother. At the time, she had no knowledge that her husband was, in reality, the Scarlet Pimpernel. Therefore, Lady Blakeney unwillingly agreed
  • 49. Evaluation Of Hedonic Price Model 4. Methodology 4.1. Analytical Framework (Generalized Spatial Two Stage Least Square: GS2SLS) Hedonic price model has been developed and widely used to identify the factors explaining housing prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional two statistical issues such as endogeneity between land use and housing price and spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. First, endogeneity should be carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing prices because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For example, better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices because such land use features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. Previous studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially affected by neighboring housing prices or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated values can be biased and inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use generalized spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations; P=О»WP+О±L М‚+ОІX+u (5) u=ПЃWu+Пµ Because the hedonic price model generally uses a log form of housing prices, our final empirical model used in this study is expressed as the following equations; lnвЃЎ(P)=О»W[ln(P)]+О±L М‚+ОІX+u(6) u=ПЃWu+Пµ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any spatial units. It has two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and distance based weight matrix. Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement, distance based weight matrix is more appropriate when the size of spatial units is irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). Hence, the spatial weight matrix used in this analysis is expressed as the follows; W_ij={в– (1 if d_ij≤C @0 if d_ij C or i=j)┤(7) where C denotes a distance cutoff

The Principles Qualities Of A Good Teacher In contrast, the type of inquire based approach that is taught in some of the SKE lessons at University of Sussex allows the student to understand why a method works and encourage a comprehension of the mechanics behind the steps taken to solve a problem. Personally, I have noticed that as I gain confidence in my mathematical ability, these sessions become more enjoyable. Still, to achieve confidence and be able to follow these lessons, I need to familiarize myself with a method beforehand. For me this is most effectively achieved by solving series of example problems by a given sequence of steps before embarking on a journey of understanding the reasoning behind each step. These inquiry based lessons, therefore, are most valuable when preceded by lessons with more direct instructions and teacher led demonstrations. Thus, this supports my vision that since all students have their own preferred method for learning, even if they are not aware of it, the ability to explain a topic in a number of different ways is one of the principle qualities of a good teacher. Interestingly, as part of the SKE course I was given the opportunity to spend some time in a college, observing and assisting in lessons to students that needed to retake their GSCE exams. The main method of teaching in these classes was purely instrumental, with the goal to equip the students with the knowledge to pass their GSCE exams but without any deeper understanding of the methods. No emphasis was put on
  • 51. Social Adversity In Out Of This Furnace Literature helps mirror some of the issues that individuals face in the society. Authors use fictional or real situations, in some cases, to demonstrate the extent to which a community suffers from various injustices, which undermine wholesome optimal function in different sectors. Historically, the United States has had issues with social inclusivity following oppression of immigrants, limited opportunities for minority groupings, racism, discrimination, among other things. In his novel, Out of This Furnace, Thomas Bell echoes the experiences of the Kracha family, where he chronicles the various life experiences from one generation to the next. Bell centers on the life of steel workers and their experiences in America. Despite... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One would actually be justified to assume that the steel mill company is representative of the unfair treatment workers received from the various industries they worked for. In order to echo the discrimination and oppression that immigrants experienced, Thomas H. Coode, in an essay, Many Miles to the Middle Class: Reflections on Three Narratives of Life in Mine and Mill Towns states, Mike s story, describes turn of the century steel mills as booming; but long and dangerous hours in the mills deprive workers of family time, and poverty and meanness plague Slovak families whose occupational ambitions compete with the ethnic prejudices of bosses and the corporations, (94). In this statement, Coode makes it clear that corporations during that time were not sensitive to the welfare of their workers, which only means that they were only focused on making profit. They sacrificed good working conditions and sustainable salaries for huge returns to enrich themselves. Such is a demonstration of marginalization and oppression of the poor. It is evident that Mary and her family suffer social exclusion, which undermined their wellbeing. In the novel, Mike talks reflecting the true nature of the society in which they lived. He says, But I m a Hunky and they don t give good jobs to Hunkies, (Bell, 185). This particular statement demonstrates the limiting and oppressive nature of the American society. Putting this into context, Nancy Hewitt, in her book, A

  • 54. Tattoos And Consumer Culture In recent days, the consumption of tattoos may be considered contradictory in its ability to make someone be different and its potential symbolism of various subcultures allowing the consumer to fit in. While many cultures around the world started using tattoos as a way to mark status, spiritual devotion, bravery and protection, Western society began using tattoos as a symbol of criminality and deviance. This perception of degeneracy has been argued to derive from European middle class ideas of evolutionary superiority of their civilised society versus other savage ones (1993, p. 10). With the rise of the rock star in the seventies, many subcultures began to use tattooing to defy the dominant ideology of an ink free body being society s attractive norm (Kosut 2013, p. 143; Sternberg, 2017 a). In recent years, popular cultureand incorporation altered mainstream perceptions of tattoos and challenged the traditional ideologies connecting tattoos and deviance (Kjeldgaard Bengtsson 2005, p. 172). By exploring the development of tattoos in consumer culture, this essay examines the contrasting beliefs regarding whether consumption practices are sites of resistance to the dominant order or sites of conformity. The history and social significance of tattoos is very complex, as stated by Karacaoglan (2012): Although the practice of tattooing has been in existence for millennia, tattoos have acquired renewed and widespread currency in contemporary Western culture.
