Essay Citation Generator
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of an "Essay Citation Generator" can be a challenging
endeavor. This task requires a comprehensive understanding of both the technical aspects of
citation generation and the broader context of academic writing. One must delve into the various
citation styles, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, and others, and explore the nuances of each.
The challenge lies not only in explaining the functionality of citation generators but also in
analyzing their impact on the academic landscape. Researchers and students rely on these tools
to streamline the citation process, but questions about accuracy, consistency, and potential
pitfalls must be addressed. One must navigate through the fine line between the convenience
offered by citation generators and the necessity for a deep understanding of proper citation rules.
Moreover, the essay should explore the evolution of citation generators, considering the
advancements in technology and the changing landscape of academic communication.
Addressing the potential future developments in citation generation tools adds an extra layer of
complexity to the task.
In the process of writing, it becomes essential to strike a balance between technical details and
broader implications. A successful essay on this topic should not only serve as a guide to citation
generators but also provoke critical thinking about their role in scholarly communication.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the "Essay Citation Generator" requires a multifaceted
approach. It demands a thorough examination of technical details, an exploration of the broader
context, and the ability to present a well-balanced perspective. If grappling with this complexity
becomes overwhelming, it's worth noting that assistance with such essays and a myriad of other
topics is available on platforms like HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can provide
guidance and support.

Rome Dbq
After nearly half a millennium of rule, the Romans began to lose their grip on
Europe in the fifth century. The Fall of Rome left in its ruin political chaos,
confusion, wide spread devastation, although the Romans at the time had no idea the
fall of Rome was occurring. Divide of Western and Eastern Rome, invasions, military
disloyalty, and economic instability are some of the factors associated with the fall of
Rome.
In AD 476, the last Roman emperor in the west, Romulus Augustulus, was removed
from power by Odovacar, leader of the Goths.
The divide of Western and Eastern Rome was a major factor in the fall of Rome.
Eastern and Western Rome were separated in the beginning to make the Roman
empire more easily governed. On the contrary,
Civility From A Teacher s Stand Point And Play With...
Civility is manners. Doing simple behaviors like not chewing with one s mouth
open while eating or holding doors open for others can be considered as simple
acts of civility. In the two essays What is Civility? by P.M. Forni and Play with
Your Food, Just Don t Text by Sara Rimer, they discuss civility. In Forni s essay, he
discusses civility from a teacher s stand point, and Rimer focuses on technology
and how it leads to a lack of civility in a lot of homes worldwide. Although they
have two different stand points, they both focus on the similar aspect of civility
being significant. Civility is important because it allows Americans to get along
with each other by showing simple actions of courtesy, having manners, and being
polite. One individual who believes civility is very significant is P. M. Forni, who
wrote the essay, What is Civility? to validate his opinion. As a teacher, Forni believes
when teachers choose not to teach their students basic civility components, they are
failing and that his students should be kind people when it comes to other peoples
feelings. Also, he believes teaching his students civility is very important and only a
positive outcome for them. He first gives each of his students the opportunity during
a workshop, to state what they believe civility is and some gave answers like care,
consideration, justice, tolerance, etiquette, and tact (Forni 455). He states that doing
even the simplest things like saying please and thank you , and
Shark Finning Essay
Commodity is defined as buying and selling raw or agriculture products such as
coffee, gold and aluminum. There are two types of commodity soft commodity and
hard commodity. Soft commodities are agriculture items such as rice, rubber, and
wool while hard commodities are raw materials such as gold, oil, aluminum. Also
some commodities are needed and others are wanted and an example of needed
commodities is water, food and wanted commodities are like sharkfins. Shark finning
must be bended; it s only wanted as a commodity, most people don t need it for that
much to live. Every year, we hear about sharks killing 10 to 15 people but not only

Bow Hunting Research Papers
Bow hunting is a primordial technique designed by the ancient Africans. At first it
was used as a means of hunting for food and other essential tools that could be
created from animal parts. The design was ahead of its time because of it s
simplicity, due to this it would evolve as the primary weapon of projectile warfare.
The cheap and simple design creates a weapon that is easy to use, but hard to
conquer. In order to master the ancient art of bow hunting, you must follow these
rigorous training exercises. The necessary equipment needed for primitive bow
hunting is to say the least, primitive. You will need a bow of your choice, but since
we are sticking too primitive, you might want to get a traditional short bow also

First, place the arrow in the slot and nock it onto the string, you will know this has
happened when you hear a snapping sound. An arrow has three fletching or
feathers; two fletchings will be the same color while one of the fletchings will be a
odd or a different color. When you place the arrow on the string make sure the odd
colored fletching is facing outward from the arrow slot. If the odd fletching is
placed outward from the arrow rest then the arrows projectile will be straight, but
if the odd fletching is placed towards the arrow rest then the projectile won t be on
target. When you do this, make sure the arrow is parallel to the ground. At this
point the arrow should be parallel to your arm, the bow perpendicular to the
ground, and your arm will be parallel to the ground. Start off by pulling slowly on
the string with your dominant hand. Pull on the string until it reaches its max
curvature point. Your dominant hand will be pulled to your face along with the
string and your three fingers. Make sure you flare your elbows up towards the sky
and keep calm. Aiming is hard and for a traditional bow it is usually based off
instinct; it will take time to master the ancient arts of archery, but that is what makes
the weapon a beauty. Shooting a bow is outdated and extremely unreliable, but it is
fun and an experience that one will not forget. If you fail, then practice because

The Female Employer May Sue For Emotional Distress
The female employer may sue for emotional distress. Prior to suing, she must show
that she filed with the federal or state EEOC. Depending on her state, she may also
be required to file with her local Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA). The
female employer could file a Workers Compensation claim. In the Supreme Court
of Virginia. Ms Butler filed a workman s comp claim, Butler v. Southern States
Coop. Inc., __ Va. __, 620 S.E.2d 768 (Nov. 4, 2005), stating among other things,
her employer was responsible for the emotional distress when a co worker grabbed
her and tried to kiss her while conducting business duties. However Ms. Butler lost
her case, with the courts stating the workers compensation law does not cover
distress, due to sexual harassment. Workers Compensation is a law that
compensates employees when they are injured while working. A company with
three employees are less are usually exempt. The employee does not have to prove
it was the fault of the employer to receive the compensation. In workers comp
claims, the employer is not able to use contributory negligence, assumption of risk,
and the fellow servant rule to their defense. Also, the injury has to be work related.
Even if the accusation of sexual harassment could not be proven, the company
would not have been liable for Marwan s actions. Marwan was of a seniority
position, which exempts Studio Five from liability regarding sexual harassment. Had
Marwan been a non supervisory
Billy Elliot Research Paper
Transitions into new experiences and new phases of life can be problematic with
many obstacles to be overcome by the individual. Changes result in a shift of
attitudes, beliefs and values. Set during the 1984 miners strike, the film Billy Elliot
, directed by Stephen Daldry explores and challenges embedded traditional,
community and family values and beliefs about gender roles, job choices and the
way success is measured.Similarly, Gwen Harwood s poem Barn Owl , highlights
the effects of transitions in peoples lives through the rebellion of a child against her
father, as well as the dissipation of innocence and the Individual growth of the child.

Personal growth can be measured emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, culturally
or physically. Through the process of Billy s transitions he experiences emotional
and physical growth. Stephen Daldry illustrates this exploration of transitions
when Tony breaks out into a fight with Mrs Wilkinson around the kitchen table.
Shot reverse shots are employed to emphasize the separation between Mrs
Wilkinson, Billy s family and Billy. A close up of Tony and Jackie respectively
reveals to us that Tony has become the dominant one in the family. This dominance
is further reinforced as Tony asks Mrs Wilkinson, Have you any idea what we re
going through, I have been in a fucking cell all night and you coming round here
talking shite... He s only eleven for fuck sake . This then cuts to a close up of
Billy, who is behind a door, which symbolises the barrier between Billy and his
family as he claims innocently and ironically, I don t want a childhood, I want to be
Ballet dancer , highlighting Billy s determination to still continue his journey to the
Royal ballet school despite the obstacle of his family. This also highlights the
personal emotional growth of Billy in his ability to confidently express his dreams
and aspirations to his family who have constantly hindered his transition throughout
the film. The parallel filming of Billy dancing aggressively to the sounds of a
5 Maps And Charts That Will Surprise You Analysis
The article titled, 5 Maps and Charts That Will Surprise You by Ezra Klein asks,
Which chart did you find the most surprising? The chart I found the most
surprising was the chart that was titled, Switzerland is the best place to be born
because I thought that the U.S. would be a better place to be born. Also, I didn t
know that the geography of a place needs to be counted to determine if children
have the best chance of a happy, safe and prosperous life. I also didn t think that
trust in public institutions and the health of family life counted in children having
the best chance for a happy, safe and prosperous life. I didn t think these would be
needed because these don t seem that important to live a happy, safe, and prosperous
life.

part of the House of Common, they have to win the people s vote through their
Trombone History
Origin The trombone is one of the only instruments that does not use keys or valves
and is therefore a very unique instrument as it has a slide instead. The trombones first
ancestor was an instrument called the tromba, which was essentially a trumpet. Then
they added a slide to the trumpet and named it the slide trumpet. The slide trumpet
became not as well known as its brother, a larger version of the slide trumpet known
as the sackbut (original name for the trombone). From the sackbut came 4 new kinds
of trombone, alto, tenor, bass and the contrabass trombones, although the alto
trombone is rarely used, each still exists and plays a different pitch.
WHO invented it and WHEN/WHERE was it? The inventor of the trombone is not
specific as it was invented through people experimenting on the trumpet. Although it
is not clear where exactly it was invented or who exactly it was, it is clear that it was
invented somewhere in Europe, most likely by either the English or Belgian. After
that, production of the trombone usually occurred in Germany, where it was called
the Posaune. While the inventing of the slide trumpet took place in the mid 1400 s,
the inventing of the former ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1500 s the trombone was found incredibly useful by most composers because it
was the only brass instrument that could have played any note on the scale at that
time. In the beginning the trombone was found being used primarily in churches,
town concert bands and even military bands by the 1700 s. They only became regular
members of the symphony orchestra by the 1850 s. In modern day society they are
commonly used for bands, orchestra, jazz bands, brass ensembles and other popular
music groups. Gluck, Gossec and Mozart were all famous composers who wrote
popular and large pieces for the trombone. Tommy Dorsey was a famous trombonist
who was one of the first to play the trombone as a lyrical solo
Investigation Of Financial Statement Fraud
Investigating Financial Statement Fraud
Background Financial Statement is the heart and soul of the business industry as it
provides the financial condition of the company and the going forward initiatives of
the corporation, therefore it is critical that the financial statement is free from
manipulation and misstatement to be material and useful for stakeholders and other
earning statement users. Goel and Gangolly (2012) implied that top management
knows the financial statement users will perceive the audited report as credible, and
strategically writes under thorough guidance of corporate lawyers to cautiously
position the company s image positively (p.75). Goel and Gangolly argued that not
only the financials metrics, but disclosure statements contain linguistic cues for
investigation of accurateness and honesty of the writing and presentation style (p.75
76). Financial statement fraud has become a growing problem in the accounting
profession and the business industry. According to Committee of Sponsoring
Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO, 2010) 1998 to 2007 fraudulent
financial reporting statistics, over 60% of the fraud cases were revenue fraud (p.5).
Abbasi, Albrecht, Vance and Hansen (2012) emphasized the harmful effect of
financial fraud to our economy, specifically to risk averse investors, which could have
crucial long term consequences to company s sustainability (p.1293). Abbasi,
Albrecht, Vance and Hansen indicated that most companies that were
Community For My Old Volunteer Group
Community for me, is feeling connected, accepted, and at home. It is where
everyone is working together for a mutual cause, and having fun doing it. It is not
so much a place to me, as it is a feeling. I can go to any town, city, or community but
it does not necessarily take a place in my heart as much as the sense of community
I have experienced before. What other place to find community than my old
volunteer group, ironically called FOCUS on Community. FOCUS is an
organization whose mission is to reach out to the people of our community, like
teens and families, to prevent substance abuse, smoking, alcoholism, and even to
help families that are already dealing with these issues. My favorite program was
the F.A.S.T. program Families And Schools Together because I worked one on
one with people and really saw that we were making a difference in these people s
lives. At the time I first volunteered for F.A.S.T. I did not realize exactly what I was
doing, I merely signed up because I wanted to help out in some way. However, I
soon realized that we truly were bringing these families closer. We gave them a safe
environment with dinner and activities, and a chance every week to have one on one
time with the child of their choice. This helped them solve arguments and build
stronger and closer relationships with children who are having a rough time. Another
place where I felt an immense sense of community was Italian Fest. I have
volunteered at this festival for the past
The Republican Party And The Democratic Party Essay
The Republican Party has long relied on the support of older, white, conservatives.
Regrettably, they are a shrinking portion of the voting population. The problem that
they face is a shrinking voter base, mainly due to age. As their electorate shrinks, it
is imperative for the party to appeal to the more liberal younger generations for
support. The Republican Partyneeds to look forward to true reform. Above all, the
party needs to abandon much of their social conservatismto appeal to millennials
interests to stay relevant on the national political scene.
David Frum offers four potential solutions for where the Republican party can go
from here. He himself believes that the first two considerations of doubling down
on elite backed candidates or tactical concession on immigration are unhelpful and
too narrow respectively. Therefore, his most confident considerations are in his
third and fourth options. His fourth choice to keep the Republican party relevant is,
in his words, to change the rules of the game. (Frum 2016) Parties are in favor of
processes that help advance their (or limit the other party s) political and ideological
goals. Frum recognizes that outside of the presidential election, Republicans have
done quite well on down ballot elections. For this reason, they have the ability to
exert considerably more control over voting and election processes than Democrats.
For example, having the ability to gerrymander as well as change voter registration
rules
The Abolitionist Movement
Centered on values of personal freedom and human rights, the Abolitionist
Movement was an effort to end slavery. This movement was a lot fiercer than its
predecessors. They demanded that harsh words be used when talking about slavery
and slave owners. They spread the graphic realness of the horrors slaves faced.
Beatings, brandings, and other physical abuses were commonplace and the
knowledge of these cruelties helped sway some Americans to the Abolitionists side.
They also believed that once slavery was abolished, black people should become
equal citizens. Some groups within the movement were backed by religious beliefs.
Some argued that America was in line for a divine punishment if slavery continued. A
moral suasion strategy began
Sedition And The Alien Act
In 1789 during John Adam s time in the oval office, there was a huge debate about
the Sedition Act and the Alien Act. These two acts were supposed to make it
harder to become an American Citizen. Timothy Pickering agreed with the act,
while Jefferson was against it. The Sedition and Alien acts allowed the president to
weed through the immigrants and choose which ones he didn t want living in the
U.S. Pickering s argument may be correct, however Madison s writing is far better
than Pickering s. Timothy s tone was definitely written for everyday people, it is
very comprehensible. Throughout his work he uses mostly pathos and logos, there
next to no ethos in his work. When he did use ethos, they were not embedded in his
work it was just a paragraph,

The two brothers were released on the following day. The prosecution appealed the
Kalpoes release. That appeal was denied on December 5 with the court stating that
the file against the suspect did not contain direct indications that Natalee passed
away due to a violent crime. Van der Sloot was released without charge on
December 7, due to lack of evidence implicating him. No further appeals were
sought out (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). Prosecutor Hans Mos
declared the case closed and no charges would be filed due to lack of evidence.
Even though the case was closed the prosecution continued an interest in the
Kalpoe s and Joran van der Sloot. The interest remained due to an alleged chat
room message, where one of the three had stated that Holloway was dead. This was
contested by Deepak Kalpoe s attorney, who stated that the prosecution, had
misconstrued a reference to a teacher who had drowned as one to Holloway.
Attorney Ronald Wix also stated, Unless (Mos) finds a body in the bathroom of one
of these kids, there s no way in hell they can arrest them anymore (Disappearance of

Reflection Of The Classroom Environment
Classroom Environment.
As I connect back to my ontological commitment of transferring knowledge for the
sake of building a foundation that can carry students through to graduation, I focus
on how I can determine why I believe the classroom environment is critical to me.
Perhaps it goes back to my positionality, where I truly believe that everyone has a
right to learn and grow and that knowledge is the key to success in anything. As a
lifelong learner, when I encountered difficulties transferring knowledge to students, I
worked to develop intricate ways of teaching complicated material. In some instances,
it meant changing the environment altogether, which is perhaps the reason I am a
strong proponent for active learning classrooms.
In my last qualitative course, I had the opportunity to interview and observe faculty
in both types of settings a traditional classroom and an active learning classroom. I
gained valuable insight on why teachers using ALCs seemed to thrive and truly
engage with students. The flexibility an ALC environment provides for both faculty
and students connects back to the theoretical framework of student centered learning
and discovery learning theories. My goal in using qualitative inquiry is to determine
a better understanding of the successes and challenges in using an ALC because
converting classrooms to more modern environments is costly and not many schools
have the funding for it (Walker, Brooks, Baepler, 2011). If we can publish more
Cornstarch Research Paper
Cornstarch Cornstarch is a fine, powdery starch that is made out of corn. The
cornstarch is actually made from the endosperm of the corn, which makes up most
of the kernels that we eat when enjoying popcorn or corn on the cob. Cornstarch,
also sometimes called cornflour, is produced by grinding, washing and drying the
endosperm of the corn until it reaches that fine, powdery state. Cornstarch is gluten
free. Cornstarch has many culinary uses, but it is most often used as a thickener for
sauces, gravies and fruit pie fillings. Cornstarch thickens very quickly and easily,
and forms a clear sauce after cooking, rather than an opaque one. It has roughly
twice the thickening power of flour, and while it is flavorless after cooking, it does

Equation 1 produces the most gas.
Number of moles = Volume of Gas (cm3) = 80cm3
Molar Volume (cm3) 24000cm3
= 0.0033 moles of gas
1.25 moles of gas is produced from 1 mole of copper carbonate (CuCO3)
В» 0.0033 moles of gas is produced from (0.0033)
1.25
= 0.00264 moles of Copper Carbonate
m = n x M  M[CuCO3] = [63.5 + 12 + (3 x 16)] = 123.5g mol 1
 0.00264 x 123.5g mol 1
= 0.33g of CuCO3
I can now work out how much gas 0.33g of CuCO3 will give in equation 2:
n = m = 0.33g = 0.00267 moles of Copper Carbonate
M 123.5g mol 1
1 mole of CuCO3 gives 1 mole of gas
0.00267 moles of CuCO3 gives 0.00267 moles of gas.
Volume of gas (cm3) = number of moles x molar volume (cm3)
= 0.00267 x 24000 cm3
= 64cm3
I can now carry out the experiment and compare the actual value with the two
predicted values I have just calculated. Which ever value is closest to the actual
value is the correct value and so its equation will be the correct equation.

before. (Albert Einstein). The result of people who aren t independent is more
negative than positive. The articles including Herd Behavior , The Stanford Prison
Experiment , Teenage Brains are Malleable and Vulnerable Researchers Say , and
Why Do People Follow the Crowd all show evidence towards How people are
influenced. Following the crowd is one of the main results of influence people have
on others. Influence naturally developed in the human brainis based on the natural
inclination to follow the group as seen in teenagers.

The author says that it is more apparent in times of danger or panic. People in a
crisis that requires escape will attempt to move faster than normal, copy the actions
of others, interact physically with each other, and ignore alternative strategies in
favor of following the mass escape trend. The results of this panic induced herd
behavior can be very negative. Psychologists posit that a group mind can overtake a
mob and embolden people to act in ways they would not individually, increasing the
likelihood that situations become violent. Herd Behavior has been going on for so
long, that most people don t even realize it is happening. The violence is a good
reasoning behind the influence seen with peer pressure. People are pressured, or
influenced, by others to do good or bad things. This is seen in teens most of all.
Teenagers are more active when it comes to trends. Wanting to be caught up with
the norm is an example of Herd Behavior. Everyone starts wearing a certain kind of
accessory and that sets up for anyone else to follow the crowd. The instinct to
follow the crowd is understood when looking at the high rates of negative peer
pressure in the teenage years. Teenagers are more likely to conform. Furthermore,
People succumb to the roles of society that have been laid out over time instead of
going against it or being independent. In the article The Stanford Prison Experiment ,
An elaborate experiment was setup to study
Robert Cohn Vs Robert Cohn
Moving on to the next character that struggles with his identity, Robert Cohn,
much like Jake, wrestles with the question of is he a bull or is he a steer? While,
unlike Jake, he is capable of sexual relations and has an affair with Brett, Cohn
delivers the ironic statement that it s no life being a steer , hinting at his
insecurity in terms of his masculinity (Hemingway 145). On the surface, it would
appear that Cohn does not have adequate reason to be insecure about who he is as
a person. After all, he suffers no side effects from the war and is able to live his
life as he pleases, dissimilar to Jake. But Cohn is set apart from the others in the
story. Gross brilliantly puts into words just how subtle this differentiation can be
by stating how natural it seems . . . to call Jake Barnes Jake, Mike Campbell Mike,
Bill Gorton Bill, Lady Brett Ashley Brett, and how unnatural . . . to call Robert
Cohn Robert (123). He then follows this up with the assertion that Jake, and
everyone else, calls Cohn Cohn to distance him (Gross 123). Another aspect of this
differentiation results from Cohn s status as the only Jew in the novel. One further
distinction is the idea that Cohn has never known real love. As Jake points out in
the beginning, Cohn was married by the first girl who was nice to him , not a
woman he truly loved (Hemingway 12). Upon meeting Frances, a literary woman
who took a liking to Cohn and wanted to marry him, Cohn fancies that he was sure
he loved her

Root Cause Analysis:
Root cause analysis (RCA) is used in different fields to conduct a systematic
search to find the causes of a specific sentinel event (Jacob, 2010). The main goal
for conducting a RCA is to prevent similar adverse events from happening in the
future (Jacob, 2010). In this paper, I will use the scenario provided in the task to
create a complete RCA report as well as improvement plans that will prevent
similar incidents from happening again. RCA is best done as soon as an adverse
event has happened (Jacob, 2010). The first step in the RCA is to identify what had
happened (Jacob, 2010). In the scenario, Mr. B was admitted to the Emergency
Room (ER) after a fall. During the treatment, Mr. B was given ... Show more content

To do so, I am going to use the fishbone diagram to categorize the causative factors
(Potter Perry, 2008). For patient characteristics, Mr. B was a 67 year old patient
with routine use of oxycodone to treat chronic pain. Because of his routine use of
oxycodone, he may need a different dose to get to a sedated level than other people
who are not on any medication. Next is the task factors, the hospital had a policy
which requires that anyone who are treated with moderate sedation or analgesia have
to be put on continuous blood pressure, ECG, and pulse oximeter monitoring until
the procedure is done and patient is in stable condition. Mr. B was not being
monitored accordingly during the sedation process. Another task factors is that all
staffs must first complete a training module on sedation before performing the task.
Individual staff is a factor too, Nurse J had completed the training module on
sedation, he had an ACLS certification as well as experience working as a critical
care nurse. Team factors include communication between staffs; an example would
be the LPN not informing Nurse J or Dr. T when the alarm went off the first time, it
showed that Mr. B had low oxygen saturation. Work environment factors included the
staffing in the ER, the equipments they had, and the level of experience of the staffs.
According to the scenario, additional staffs were available for back up support and
all the equipment needed
Australian Pineapple Products Exporting Company (Appec)
Company Background
The Australian Pineapple Products Exporting Company (APPEC) was incorporated
in Central Queensland, Australia by a group of 10 top pineapple growers and
merchants (5 large individual growers, 1 large fruit merchant already exporting, 4
packing sheds representing groups of growers). These 10 pineapple growers are
among the best operators from each of the four main pineapple growing districts,
Central Queensland, North Queensland, Southern Queensland, and the Wide Bay

Product positioning is very hard for the firm. There is a tight price competition due
to the existence of strong players in the industry. Also in the existence of these big
and strong competitors, substitution is also high because each of these players offer a
wide variety of products that present consumers different level of satisfaction.
There were also the existences of exporting conflicts. In 1994, an exporting
consultant Hodges had identified major export problems. One of these problems is
the relatively high cost, low efficiency and reliability of Australian shipping that will
greatly affect the price and quality of the product. There are also problems with the
availability and usage of appropriate containers for the product that again has a
massive effect on the quality and on time delivery of the products. Different countries
have their own prevailing laws and standards, which an exporter should comply with.
There are also trends that an exporter should successfully fulfil, like the new trend for
environmental concerns. The exporter should also establish a better relationship with
their traders in order to continue a regular link and easy entry to the market.
How could APPEC and the industry improve its ability to compete effectively against
international competitors?
The Australian Pineapple Products Exporting Company, as well as the other players
in the industry, must operate and produce pineapple
Cardiovascular System Lab Report
The blood flow both the pulmonary and systemic circuits in humans
The cardiovascular system is made up of two circulatory routes, the pulmonary circuit
and the systematic circuit. The blood is oxygenated in the lungs during the
pulmonary circuit and then the oxygenated blood is circulated through the rest of the
body by the systematic circuit.
During pulmonary circulation the blood moves from the heart to the lung to become
oxygenated, the blood is then circulated back to heart. Deoxygenated blood enters the
right atrium from the superior and inferior venae cavae. The blood is pumped through
the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle. The blood is then pumped through the
pulmonary valve and into the pulmonary artery from the right ventricle. ... Show more

The systematic system also circulate the deoxygenated blood from the body and into
the heart to start the pulmonary circuit again. The blood is pumped from the left
ventricle, into the aortic valve and then into the aorta. The aorta branches into the
major arteries to the upper body before going through the diaphragm, where it
branches into arteries, which supplies blood to the lower body parts.
The image above shows the blood flow throughout the body.
The arteries are branched into smaller arteries, arterioles and capillaries. Carbon
dioxide and waste are diffused out of the cell into the blood, while oxygen is diffusing
out of the blood into the cell. The deoxygenated blood continues to flow through the
capillaries, which more into venules, veins and eventually, the heart. From the right
atrium, the blood will go through the pulmonary circulation again.
The image above shows how the blood travels through the body from the elastic
artery, muscular artery, arteriole, continuous capillary, fenestrated capillary, venule,
medium sized vein and through to the large vein, back into the heart.
Blood pressure is much higher within the systematic circuit due to the size, various
destinations and redirection of the blood flow. The high pressure is also due to the
smooth muscle, which creates more resistance.

Chemical Relaxing Research Paper
Chemical Relaxing
Chemical relaxing is the process of making curly hair straight. When you relax
curled hair you have to use a type of lotion or cream with a chemical ammonium
thioglycolate that you put all over the hair which is in most relaxing products and it
help relax the curls and straightens the natural curls. Chemical relaxers break your
hair s bonds and reset your hair.
Relaxing your hair can help boost your morale by making unruly, wavy hair easier
to style and wash. However, relaxing can potentially damage your hair. There are
ways to minimize these damaging effects. Chemical straightening or relaxing
treatments work in the same way as a reverse perm. However, instead of using the
solution to curl straight hair, it s used to permanently straighten curly hair. Hair
relaxers are available in two types: lye and no lye.The solution is put on at the scalp,
the hair is pulled straight with a special comb. It s most commonly performed on
black/Afro Caribbean hair. If you dont take great care of your hair after this service
you can get some really bad hair breakage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

can be very damaing it can be beneficial to the hair in the long run.Once your hair is
straightened, none of the other harmful procedures, like hot oil, pressing, pulling, flat

hair and frequent washing is highly important to your hair and scalp
How To Read A Book, By Mortimer Adler
Based on the course material, many attributes make up a good reader. Not only
should good readers avoid numerous distractions, like technology, but they should
also be active readers. In a book entitled, How to Read a Book, Mortimer Adler lists
many characteristics of good readers. On active reading, Adler claims that since any
sort of readingis an activity, all reading to some degree must be active. Completely
passive reading is impossible; we cannot read with our eyes immobilized and our
minds asleep...the more active the reading the better (5). Adler also uses the analogy
of a baseball to further illustrate his point. The author and his or her work acts like a
pitcher and the reader is the catcher the author pitches information and the... Show

In a book entitled, Deep Work, author Cal Newport explores the idea of deep work
versus shallow work. He defines deep work as professional activities performed in
a state of distraction free concentration that push your cognitive capabilities to their
limits (Newport 3). On the other hand, shallow work is non cognitively
demanding, logistical style tasks, often performed while distracted (Newport 6).
In response to Adler s teachings, good readers should read deeply with maximum
effort and minimal distractions. However, in a later section of his book, Newport
explains that deep work is not something that comes easily. He explains that
willpower and unbroken concentration is not easily achieved or maintained: Your
will, in other words, is not a manifestation of your character that you can deploy
without limit; it s instead like a muscle that tires (Newport 116). Like with any
other muscle in the body, a person s ability to concentrate must be worked on and
strengthened. A good reader should learn his or her limitations and read actively
when they can work deeply. Trying to read actively while working shallowly is a
waste of

Throughout the progression of Katherine Applegate s novel, Home of the Brave,
several characters are established in terms of both protagonists and antagonists to
exhibit the development of plot and events subsequent to their introductions. To begin
with, one of the most prominent characters that is both involved in and narrates the
story typically known as the protagonist, is Kek a young boy from Sudan who has
fled to America in hopes of seeking refuge from his war torn country. Specifically,
Kek was forced to leave behind his family in Africa and move to the United States
from a refugee camp in Sudan after his camp was attacked with only him and his
mother as survivors; though she was still missing. Kek s father and brother, Lual,
were unfortunately killed in the encroachment. Nevertheless, Kek remains optimistic
and hopeful that he will thrive in a new country where both the language, people, and

The reader is capable of learning that even in such a troublesome environment, Kek
is able to animadvert new aspects of a country he was unfamiliar with calling
airplanes a flying boat and characterizing traffic lights as red and round like a baby

reliant young adult who struggles to coincide in a country that offers both
opportunities and hindrances in a path for a more desirable and improved life.
Moreover, it becomes clear throughout the progression of the novel that Kek is
extremely self reliant, determined, and set to achieve whatever he sets out to do;
while still remaining true to his African heritage and

Barbarians was a nickname given by the Romans to the various Germanic tribes,
the settled Gauls, and the raiding Huns because of their ferocious way of invading
other tribes and empires. Barbarians is a word given to a human who is perceived

were able to conquer and defeat many empires for many years because of their very
strong and inhumane use of brute force to get the job done and strike fear in

New York s Fourth Congressional District
In the congressional election coming this November, the Democratic and
Republican candidates will be fiercely campaigning for the Fourth District s seat in
the House of Representatives. In the analysis of the electoral race, we will closely
examine various aspects of the district including demographics, income and wealth,
religious preference, important federal issues in the area, partisanship, and previous
voting patterns. New York s 4th District is located on the eastern portion of the state,
near Long Island. It includes the traditionally republican area of Garden City and the
towns around it, making the district one out of six congressional districts in New
York whose lines fall completely within a single county. Nassau Countyis famous for
containing the Gold Coast, the setting of F. Scott Fitzgerald s world renowned book,
The Great Gatsby (Nassaulandtrust.org). The elections in the fourth district of New
York have favored the Democratic Party as of late, but the race is closer than it has
been for years; the competitive air surrounding the upcoming election is the result of
the district s many redevelopment projects, the well received behavior of Republican
representatives in local government, the high concentration of wealth in the area, and
the 2010 census redistricting and removal of strongly democratic minority precincts
(Michael Barone and Chuck McCutcheon 2013). Nassau was
China-Taiwan Relations in Terms of One China and the...

This term paper focuses on China Taiwan relations in terms of One China policy and
the Taiwan question. The paper will first provide an overview of the historical
background of Beijing Taipei relations and its ties with the United States. After, we
will discuss One China policy and its different interpretations.
From an international relations perspective, the Taiwan Strait, one of the most likely
conflict zones in the Asia Pacific region, has been dubbed the Balkan Peninsula of the
East. The status of Taiwan has been one of the most intricate issues in international
relations arena for the past decades. The Taiwan question is essentially an extension

Its multi dimensional character makes it much more subtle and complex to deal with
than normal foreign policy issues (Xu Xin, 2001).
DISCUSSION
Beijing s One China version, stating that Taiwan is part of the PRC, has never been
accepted by foreign states. While foreign governments recognize the PRC as the
legal government of China, they almost uniformly disagree with the PRC s
territorial claim over Taiwan. That is why, in their respective the US and the UK
simply acknowledge, Canada takes note of, and Japan understands and respects the
PRC s position that Taiwan is part of China.11 These carefully chosen terms, used
instead of the word, recognize, as well as negotiations history, directly refute the RPC
s claim of an international consensus that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.
These foreign countries positions also imply that the ROC s loss of recognition does
not extinguish its statehood (Hsieh, P., 2009).
After the conclusion of the San Francisco Peace Treaty between Japan and the allied
powers in 1951, Japan and the ROC signed the Treaty of Taipei. Under these treaties,
Japan confirmed that it renounced its claim to sovereignty over Taiwan.
Consequently, it is not disputed that from October 1945 to 1949, both mainland China
and Taiwan belong to one nation: ROC. Even if we assume that the San Francisco
Peace Treaty is not able to decide the status of Taiwan, it cannot be ignored
The Sexuality Of The Victorian Century
In modern day America and many other countries, it is common for women to
express their sexuality. Trends such as crop tops and high waisted shorts have
allowed this to be acceptable to society. During the 19th century Victorian era,
behaviors like such would be outrageous and horrifying. In that time, sexuality was
especially feared. Women were viewed as domestic goddesses; their only desire
was to care for the family and fulfill their husband s needs. It became quite common
that women came to also have anxiety over their sexuality. This is clearly seen in
Draculathrough Lucy s diary entries. Despite her ultimate transformation into a
sensual character, she begins as a woman hiding her sexual cravings. In his gothic
novel, Dracula, Bram Stokeruses the title character to expose the repressed sexuality
of the other characters, especially the females, criticizing the beliefs of the
Victorian Era about woman as sexless figures. Throughout the novel, Lucy and
Mina embark on a transformation from ideal Victorian woman to vampires. This
represents them crossing the line between conservative women to sexual beings.
Even in Lucy s most domestic state, she expresses a desire for sex. In one day,
Lucy is proposed to by three different men. Overjoyed by these proposals she states,
Why can t they let a girl marry three men, or as many as want her, and save all this
trouble? But this is heresy, and I must not say it (Stoker 80). Essentially, Lucy is
stating that she would like to
Native American Traditions And Traditions Of Clothing,...
The Navajos did not make war just to steal and kill; they earned their reputation as
warriors fighting to protect their lands, properties, and families and a just cause it
was. The Navajo tribe is one of the oldest and is the largest tribe in the United
States and branches from the Apache tribe. Their characteristics and traditions of
clothing, shelter, and food are still around today. This tribe is known for their
peacefulness and religious beliefs and 0many experts consider their lifestyle to
have been a wealth of culture. They were resilient and seemed to recuperate from
the many hardships they faced, even destitution. Navajo traditions were orally
passed on to younger generations from elders, and even other tribes that the
navajos branched from. They formed a very distinct type of religion known as the
Peyote religion. This religion was unconventional compared to other native
american religions. Some of their rituals used in healing members of the tribe
could last for days and even over a week. Every aspect of their life involved some
type of religious ceremony. When it came to planting crops and harvesting they
would pray, sing, and dance to the sun god named Tsohanoai for a bountiful year. Not
all followed this religion once Christianity was shared with them. In more modern
times between twenty and fifty percent now identify themselves as Christians.
Another large part of their religion and beliefs are their healing ceremonies. In 1941

Effects Of Mongol Rule On China
In breaking down the causations and effects of the Mongols regarding their rule on
China during 1200 1500, one can see these include the implementation of governing
philosophies of elected officials that shaped Chinese culture, the influence of tax
farming systems on China s economy, and the influence of trade on social
hierarchies. An example of an impact by the Mongols on Chinese rule is the negative
influences of tax farming on Chinese economy. Another example of a causation of
Mongol rule on Chinais the of tax farming systems in order to improve revenue in the
area.
China during Mongol domination, incorporated philosophy and organization into the
government, which helped it shape their cultural and political outlook. An example
of an impact of Mongol rule on China s government is their use of provinces to
organize China s cities, specifically with Yunnan. The Mongols used provinces to
systemize the government and appointed governors to each district, where that
governor would take care of the taxes. The reason for this method of organization is
that the Mongols trusted foreigners more than the Chinese, so they appointed their
tasks to foreigners such as the governor of Yunnan. The governor of Yunnan didn t
have any major positions, but he helped develop the trade in his region and promoted
Confucian belief which along with the provincial organization shaped China. An
example of a causation for the incorporation of Confucian belief in government was
due to the Mongols
Manmade Disasters and Insurance Coverage
The problem at hand is the mitigation of man made disasters, and the lessening affect
on humanity by natural disasters. Many man made disasters are instigated by a
natural disaster that a population is well aware of, yet they choose to ignore the risk
because they are not personally involved or think it will not happen to them. Up to
now the alternatives have basically focused on remediation by the governmentafter
the fact. Somehow we have come to believe that if we build our house on a sandbar
that the government will make us whole when the hurricane washes it into the ocean.
This is faulty on so many levels. Government responsibility is an oxymoron in itself.
In an article by James Payne, he cites numerous incidents of the government being
irresponsible and actually causing more damage to the environment and populations
because of mismanagement and poor oversight (James, 2010). There is an inherent
conflict of interest in hoping that your government will protect you since the
government requires funding and that funding can be hampered by restricting
business and construction. Your life and property becomes a riskthe government is
willing to take in exchange for development and taxes. Insurancecompanies provide
another alternative to this problem but they too are hindered by governmental
regulations intended to help people. Once again governmental agencies have
infringed on the private enterprise ability to resolve a problem. Left to their own
devices insurance
Ethos And Pathos Analysis
In the first weeks of ENGL 1301, we have discussed the usage and importance of
understanding rhetorical skills. Ethos, logos and pathos appeals are useful in many
situations in life, but it was until I understood them completely and managed to use
them wisely that I realized they helped me to enter a discourse community. In order
to be accepted into a community, a person must be able to learn how the community
works and must be able to commit to it. Everyone joins a discourse community in a
point in their lives so it s really important to master and acknowledge ethos, logos and
pathos appeals. In this essay, I will prove that I entered the discourse community of

As I mentioned before swimmers aren t based on their ability to master the
techniques but also in the values they posses. The values they posses are respect,
honesty, fairness and courage. I had to learn and use those values everyday I went
to swimming practice. There s one thing that I needed to have to become part of
the discourse community, which was being passionate about swimming and not
giving up. At the beginning it was really hard for me not to give up when I was
exhausted, but after becoming more passionate for swimming I never gave up.
There were moments when I thought of giving up, but I knew that if I really
wanted to call my self a swimmer I shouldn t give up and I didn t. For example,
once I was in a Swimming Festival in my High School where I competed the four
different strokes. I always finished second in the 50 meter freestyle race, but that
day I decided I would end up first place. The race started and I jumped into the
water and started pacing my self so that I would finish strong. In the first 25 meters
we were all tied up and I was starting to feel tired. But I knew I couldn t give up, so
I took a deep breath and pushed harder. I pushed harder and was able to win the
first place. After this race, I realized that even though I felt like giving up, something
inside me was telling me to push harder and that thought led me to success. I was

percent within the next few years according to data from the Veterans Affairs campus
tool kit.
Colorado State University Pueblo has approximately 300 student veterans currently
enrolled pursuing degrees said Dana Rocha, Interim Director of Veterans Affairs on
campus.
Returning from a life in the military to life as a civilian trying to complete college is
vastly different and can be challenging transition for many.

The Student Veterans of America organization on campus went homeless this

veterans and additionally collect canned goods year round to donate.
They want to go back and help other vets. You ll find that trend among student

The Veterans Resource Center on campus provides free printing, computer access

Analysis Of The Poem Charge Of The Light Brigade And ...
While both Alfred Lord Tennyson and Wilfred Owen describe war in great detail
in their works Charge of the Light Brigade and Dulce Et Decorum Est, respectively,
Tennyson describes the courage and honor of warfare, whereas Owen goes into
more detail about the horrors and atrocities that go hand in hand with war. Tennyson
describes a battle in which 600 bold and courageous men storm a valley, which he
refers to as the Valley of Death (line 7), to meet their almost inevitable death. Owen
in his Dulce et Decorum Est, describes a scene from World War I in which soldiers
are bombarded with gas shells. In this essay I will argue that despite their differing
subjects and themes, both Tennyson and Owen s work prove that the honor and
courage of the soldiers comes directly from the hardships they must endure. The fact
that the men knew the dangers of fighting the battle and knew that they were facing
death is the factor in which Tennyson draws the theme of courage. In line 23, he
states: Boldly they rode and well, into the Jaws of Death (lines 23 4). In order to
describe the experience of war throughout his work, AlfredLord Tennyson describes
the courage of the 600 men who rode into the Jaws of Death, to fight for victory
even though they were facing inevitable death. Although they fight valiantly, they are
eventually ransacked by the gun fire of their opposition. The 600 are forced to
retreat back from the valley, where even more men are killed. Also, by using the
Argumentative Essay On School Shootings
There has been enormous controversy over school shootings and how to deal with
them. But if you really think about it, school shootings are a very minute part of a
huge problem in today s society. Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin s response to
gun violence was true and just. The root of the gun violence problem is a problem in
society. Governor Matt Bevin hit the root of America s gunproblem square on. It is
not a gun problem, it is a people problem. Gun violence did not just happen
overnight it has been festering for a long time. As Governor Bevin said in his
speech, This is not a gun problem...We have a cultural problem. . For centuries we
have been polluting and decaying our society. Everywhere you look there is violence,
from video... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No matter where you are you are exposed to violence. Almost every video game
today is full of violence. Yes, there is good, non violent video games, but the
majority of video games promote unsafe and inappropriate actions. Take Grand
Theft Auto for instance, it is chalked full of nothing but drugs, killing, and sex.
There are more and more movies that have violent and demoralizing material.
Music is more violent and sexual than ever. If you would actually read or listen to
the lyrics of most music today, you would realize how toxic it is to society. I am not
saying you should just listen to religious music. I am however, saying that you
should be wise and conscious of your choice in music. You may argue that that is
why we have age restrictions and content warnings on such material. Name me twenty
people that actually follow every single age and content restriction set forth in front
of them. Today we see violence as a form of entertainment and use it to capture the
attention of audiences. This is not okay!
San Junipero Theory Of Identity
In the television series Black Mirror , the episode San Junipero deals with two
main characters who are in a world where they can get to choose to have their
consciousness survive in another world. The protagonists, Yorkie and Kelly meet in
the other world, which is called San Junipero, and instantly form a connection.
Yorkie is submissive and introverted, whereas Kelly is the total opposite, as she is
extroverted and the leader. They two opposites attracted, sparking an instant
relationship causing Kelly a problem of deciding whether to transfer over to San
Junipero when she dies. In this essay, I will present the problem of the theory of
identity. The two theory of identities I will be presenting in this essay are The
Memory Theory and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It allows you to live a life without being cautious. I think if I were to live in San
Junipero, I would have free will. In the real world, it is arguable that free will does
not exist because everything you do is predetermined. I think San Junipero would
be different, in that you would have free will because you are set in a fake world
without any rules. It was not introduced, but I personally feel that the San Junipero
was created as a world where evil or malice would not even be an option. I think
this because San Junipero was invented as a fun, partying world, where you did not
have to care. You had freewill because you could live life anyway you want and
then if you got bored of it, you could choose to be sent to the afterlife, whatever you
think that could possibly be. When you have freewill I think evil would not exist
because individuals are not constrained by rules, stress or judgement, and these
factors don t exist in San
The Common Reasons Of Lao Illness Essay
The primary belief system across Laos is that all individuals and objects have
various souls. This animism, along with the idea of reincarnation and ancestral
worship, has a direct link to their healthcare. Among the Lao populous spirituality is
exceptionally connected to their views of illnesses. Either the sins of one have
angered their ancestors, or one has lost a soul because of their misdeeds or actions.
With a combination of natural and super natural causes, a Hmong individual believes
illnesscan befall them. A list of common reasons of Lao illness is as follows:
accidents, infectious disease, curses, spells, and any taboo violation. The Hmong
believe so strongly that illness is caused by some supernatural cause, they may
request a multitude of health services when visiting the US. Generally, modern
healthcare practitioners have a tendency to be scarce in Laos. The rural populations
traditional healing is relied on by shamans, herbalists, magic healers, and other s not
trained as well in western medicine. Hmong individuals will request a practitioner
specifically to treat an ailment to which they are assigned. For example, someone
who diagnoses physical illnesses may be a herbalist. The herbalist will then dispense
herbal medications for treatments. A second example would be contacting a shaman
for family a member with spiritual afflictions. The attention of Laotian families is
focused on identifying an illnesses origin before they seek out the appropriate healing
The Song Analysis Of Where Is The Love
The song Where Is The Love by the Black Eyed Peas is a very heartfelt prayer for
the healing and suffering in the world and society that we live in. I feel like the song
is about exactly what the title is asking. Where is the love? Sometimes we have to
stop, look around us and think about the relationships we have with other people. Are
our relationships built on foundations of true love, compassion and kindness?
Although the songs was originally released in 2003, most of the issues the song
focuses on are still relevant today, in 2017. Which really makes me wonder, where
IS the love? Surely after 14 years, things would have changed. Hate and war have
existed since the beginning of humanity. Crime is an enormous part of our society, in
the past and in the present. Imagine a worldthat is crime free, the perfect utopia. A
world where everyone accepts their neighbour for the person they truly are, without
racism, without judgement, without oppression. Where is the love? recognizes chaos
in a broken world, intoxicated with violence and hate.
The song opens with the lyrics, What s wrong with the world Mama, people livin
like they ain t got no Mama, I think the whole world s addicted to Drama, only
attracted to the things that will bring them trauma For me the lyric about No
Mama The people of today s society don t know how to behave properly. We lack
knowledge and understanding of the world. We don t pay attention to anyone but
ourselves. We don t know right from wrong. We are completely oblivious to what
this world is turning into and all we are doing are things that hurt ourselves and
others. This lyric about having No Mama saddens me as there are a lot of people
out there in this world who do not have a mother to guide them on the right path.
We need a mother figure in our life because having a mother teaches us basic life
lessons that allow us to survive and be a good person. Such as to always say please
and thank you, respect people, be kind and love your neighbour. I can not relate to
not having a mother figure in my life as I have had the same amazing mother my
whole life. She has taught me from the moment I was born, to treat everyone equally,
be kind, and respect and love everyone. To this
Observation of Sub-Atomic Particles
1.A) Part of the wave might penetrate it or it might not. This would be random and
would depend on the energy of the electron attempting to penetrate.
B) The pattern that initially seemed random would begin to acquire uniformity. Half
of the electrons would transmit and half would reflect and go back. Each of the
electrons that transmitted would carry its complete charge and mass.
C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will
transmit or reflect. It is only possible to state the probability of electrons actions. For
example, one may say that the probability is one in five that the electron will
transmit and four out of five that it will be reflected back.
D) Some physicists find the result difficult to accept because they perceive it as what
Einstein called God playing dice with the universe . The unpredictability inherent
with this result and the fact that it seems to contradict both Newtonian physics as
well as reality, make it a less than ideal paradigm for many physicists.
E) David Hume would have vehemently objected to my answer on part C). Hume s
word view was largely based on the belief that, to understand events in the universe,
we must look to their cause. This casual link is, therefore, disrupted under the
conditions witnessed in the aforementioned experiment, as we can see a cause but the
result side of the chain is unknown.
2.A) Some Greek scientists based their opinion that the space between the earth and
the planets and
Risk And Governmentality By Michel Foucault
Risk and governmentality Michel Foucault, a French philosopher, introduced the
term governmentality in his lectures at CollГЁge de France in the late1970s and early
1980s; so roughly between 1977 and 1984. The term governmentality refers to both
the way in which a state governs the body of its population and to the way in which
people are taught to govern themselves. In this paper I will explain what a
governmentality approach to risk means and what the implications of this approach
are. Foucault himself did not spend a lot of his time on the topic of risk in his
writings about governmentality. According to Foucault, governmentality was
understood in the broad sense of techniques and procedures for directing human
behaviour. Government of children, government of souls and consciences,
government of a household, of a state, or of oneself . Foucault argues that
governmentality began to emerge in Europe in the sixteenth century and by the
eighteenth century, the early modern European states began to think of their citizens
in terms of populations, or society , a social body requiring intervention, management
and protection. From a Foucauldian perspective, the nature of risk is not the key
question for the analysis of risk. Foucauldian writers see risk as a calculative
rationality . Those who adopt the governmentality approach agree on the fact that risk
is something that can be managed through human interventions. Governmentality

History Of The Revolver
The revolver was invented by Samuel Colt in Paterson, New Jersey, and was patented
on
February 25, 1836. The revolver is a handgun featuring a rotating cylinder with
multiple chambers to hold bullets. Before the invention of the revolver, people used
single shot guns, like rifles and shotguns. Each time a bullet was shot, the shooter had
to reload another bullet and then shoot again. During the revolutionary war, soldiers
used muskets, which are very inaccurate single shot guns, extensively. Multi barrel
guns could shoot multiple bullets at once, were heavy and cumbersome. Revolvers
are lightweight, compact, and portable.
In addition to handguns, Colt made revolving rifles and shotguns. This made
shooting and hunting easier for gun

  • 2. Rome Dbq After nearly half a millennium of rule, the Romans began to lose their grip on Europe in the fifth century. The Fall of Rome left in its ruin political chaos, confusion, wide spread devastation, although the Romans at the time had no idea the fall of Rome was occurring. Divide of Western and Eastern Rome, invasions, military disloyalty, and economic instability are some of the factors associated with the fall of Rome. In AD 476, the last Roman emperor in the west, Romulus Augustulus, was removed from power by Odovacar, leader of the Goths. The divide of Western and Eastern Rome was a major factor in the fall of Rome. Eastern and Western Rome were separated in the beginning to make the Roman empire more easily governed. On the contrary,
  • 3. Civility From A Teacher s Stand Point And Play With... Civility is manners. Doing simple behaviors like not chewing with one s mouth open while eating or holding doors open for others can be considered as simple acts of civility. In the two essays What is Civility? by P.M. Forni and Play with Your Food, Just Don t Text by Sara Rimer, they discuss civility. In Forni s essay, he discusses civility from a teacher s stand point, and Rimer focuses on technology and how it leads to a lack of civility in a lot of homes worldwide. Although they have two different stand points, they both focus on the similar aspect of civility being significant. Civility is important because it allows Americans to get along with each other by showing simple actions of courtesy, having manners, and being polite. One individual who believes civility is very significant is P. M. Forni, who wrote the essay, What is Civility? to validate his opinion. As a teacher, Forni believes when teachers choose not to teach their students basic civility components, they are failing and that his students should be kind people when it comes to other peoples feelings. Also, he believes teaching his students civility is very important and only a positive outcome for them. He first gives each of his students the opportunity during a workshop, to state what they believe civility is and some gave answers like care, consideration, justice, tolerance, etiquette, and tact (Forni 455). He states that doing even the simplest things like saying please and thank you , and
  • 4. Shark Finning Essay Commodity is defined as buying and selling raw or agriculture products such as coffee, gold and aluminum. There are two types of commodity soft commodity and hard commodity. Soft commodities are agriculture items such as rice, rubber, and wool while hard commodities are raw materials such as gold, oil, aluminum. Also some commodities are needed and others are wanted and an example of needed commodities is water, food and wanted commodities are like sharkfins. Shark finning must be bended; it s only wanted as a commodity, most people don t need it for that much to live. • 5. Bow Hunting Research Papers Bow hunting is a primordial technique designed by the ancient Africans. At first it was used as a means of hunting for food and other essential tools that could be created from animal parts. The design was ahead of its time because of it s simplicity, due to this it would evolve as the primary weapon of projectile warfare. The cheap and simple design creates a weapon that is easy to use, but hard to conquer. In order to master the ancient art of bow hunting, you must follow these rigorous training exercises. The necessary equipment needed for primitive bow hunting is to say the least, primitive. You will need a bow of your choice, but since we are sticking too primitive, you might want to get a traditional short bow also known as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, place the arrow in the slot and nock it onto the string, you will know this has happened when you hear a snapping sound. An arrow has three fletching or feathers; two fletchings will be the same color while one of the fletchings will be a odd or a different color. When you place the arrow on the string make sure the odd colored fletching is facing outward from the arrow slot. If the odd fletching is placed outward from the arrow rest then the arrows projectile will be straight, but if the odd fletching is placed towards the arrow rest then the projectile won t be on target. When you do this, make sure the arrow is parallel to the ground. At this point the arrow should be parallel to your arm, the bow perpendicular to the ground, and your arm will be parallel to the ground. Start off by pulling slowly on the string with your dominant hand. Pull on the string until it reaches its max curvature point. Your dominant hand will be pulled to your face along with the string and your three fingers. Make sure you flare your elbows up towards the sky and keep calm. Aiming is hard and for a traditional bow it is usually based off instinct; it will take time to master the ancient arts of archery, but that is what makes the weapon a beauty. Shooting a bow is outdated and extremely unreliable, but it is fun and an experience that one will not forget. If you fail, then practice because shooting
  • 6. The Female Employer May Sue For Emotional Distress The female employer may sue for emotional distress. Prior to suing, she must show that she filed with the federal or state EEOC. Depending on her state, she may also be required to file with her local Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA). The female employer could file a Workers Compensation claim. In the Supreme Court of Virginia. Ms Butler filed a workman s comp claim, Butler v. Southern States Coop. Inc., __ Va. __, 620 S.E.2d 768 (Nov. 4, 2005), stating among other things, her employer was responsible for the emotional distress when a co worker grabbed her and tried to kiss her while conducting business duties. However Ms. Butler lost her case, with the courts stating the workers compensation law does not cover distress, due to sexual harassment. Workers Compensation is a law that compensates employees when they are injured while working. A company with three employees are less are usually exempt. The employee does not have to prove it was the fault of the employer to receive the compensation. In workers comp claims, the employer is not able to use contributory negligence, assumption of risk, and the fellow servant rule to their defense. Also, the injury has to be work related. Even if the accusation of sexual harassment could not be proven, the company would not have been liable for Marwan s actions. Marwan was of a seniority position, which exempts Studio Five from liability regarding sexual harassment. Had Marwan been a non supervisory

Personal growth can be measured emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, culturally or physically. Through the process of Billy s transitions he experiences emotional and physical growth. Stephen Daldry illustrates this exploration of transitions when Tony breaks out into a fight with Mrs Wilkinson around the kitchen table. Shot reverse shots are employed to emphasize the separation between Mrs Wilkinson, Billy s family and Billy. A close up of Tony and Jackie respectively reveals to us that Tony has become the dominant one in the family. This dominance is further reinforced as Tony asks Mrs Wilkinson, Have you any idea what we re going through, I have been in a fucking cell all night and you coming round here talking shite... He s only eleven for fuck sake . This then cuts to a close up of Billy, who is behind a door, which symbolises the barrier between Billy and his family as he claims innocently and ironically, I don t want a childhood, I want to be Ballet dancer , highlighting Billy s determination to still continue his journey to the Royal ballet school despite the obstacle of his family. This also highlights the personal emotional growth of Billy in his ability to confidently express his dreams and aspirations to his family who have constantly hindered his transition throughout the film. The parallel filming of Billy dancing aggressively to the sounds of a

  • 11. Trombone History Origin The trombone is one of the only instruments that does not use keys or valves and is therefore a very unique instrument as it has a slide instead. The trombones first ancestor was an instrument called the tromba, which was essentially a trumpet. Then they added a slide to the trumpet and named it the slide trumpet. The slide trumpet became not as well known as its brother, a larger version of the slide trumpet known as the sackbut (original name for the trombone). From the sackbut came 4 new kinds of trombone, alto, tenor, bass and the contrabass trombones, although the alto trombone is rarely used, each still exists and plays a different pitch. WHO invented it and WHEN/WHERE was it? The inventor of the trombone is not specific as it was invented through people experimenting on the trumpet. Although it is not clear where exactly it was invented or who exactly it was, it is clear that it was invented somewhere in Europe, most likely by either the English or Belgian. After that, production of the trombone usually occurred in Germany, where it was called the Posaune. While the inventing of the slide trumpet took place in the mid 1400 s, the inventing of the former ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1500 s the trombone was found incredibly useful by most composers because it was the only brass instrument that could have played any note on the scale at that time. They only became regular members of the symphony orchestra by the 1850 s. In modern day society they are commonly used for bands, orchestra, jazz bands, brass ensembles and other popular music groups. Gluck, Gossec and Mozart were all famous composers who wrote popular and large pieces for the trombone. Tommy Dorsey was a famous trombonist who was one of the first to play the trombone as a lyrical solo
  • 12. Investigation Of Financial Statement Fraud Investigating Financial Statement Fraud Background Financial Statement is the heart and soul of the business industry as it provides the financial condition of the company and the going forward initiatives of the corporation, therefore it is critical that the financial statement is free from manipulation and misstatement to be material and useful for stakeholders and other earning statement users. Goel and Gangolly (2012) implied that top management knows the financial statement users will perceive the audited report as credible, and strategically writes under thorough guidance of corporate lawyers to cautiously position the company s image positively (p.75). Goel and Gangolly argued that not only the financials metrics, but disclosure statements contain linguistic cues for investigation of accurateness and honesty of the writing and presentation style (p.75 76). Financial statement fraud has become a growing problem in the accounting profession and the business industry. According to Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO, 2010) 1998 to 2007 fraudulent financial reporting statistics, over 60% of the fraud cases were revenue fraud (p.5). Abbasi, Albrecht, Vance and Hansen (2012) emphasized the harmful effect of financial fraud to our economy, specifically to risk averse investors, which could have crucial long term consequences to company s sustainability (p.1293). Abbasi, Albrecht, Vance and Hansen indicated that most companies that were
  • 13. Community For My Old Volunteer Group Community for me, is feeling connected, accepted, and at home. It is where everyone is working together for a mutual cause, and having fun doing it. It is not so much a place to me, as it is a feeling. I can go to any town, city, or community but it does not necessarily take a place in my heart as much as the sense of community I have experienced before. What other place to find community than my old volunteer group, ironically called FOCUS on Community. FOCUS is an organization whose mission is to reach out to the people of our community, like teens and families, to prevent substance abuse, smoking, alcoholism, and even to help families that are already dealing with these issues. My favorite program was the F.A.S.T. program Families And Schools Together because I worked one on one with people and really saw that we were making a difference in these people s lives. At the time I first volunteered for F.A.S.T. I did not realize exactly what I was doing, I merely signed up because I wanted to help out in some way. However, I soon realized that we truly were bringing these families closer. We gave them a safe environment with dinner and activities, and a chance every week to have one on one time with the child of their choice. This helped them solve arguments and build stronger and closer relationships with children who are having a rough time. Another place where I felt an immense sense of community was Italian Fest. I have volunteered at this festival for the past
  • 14. The Republican Party And The Democratic Party Essay The Republican Party has long relied on the support of older, white, conservatives. Regrettably, they are a shrinking portion of the voting population. The problem that they face is a shrinking voter base, mainly due to age. As their electorate shrinks, it is imperative for the party to appeal to the more liberal younger generations for support. The Republican Partyneeds to look forward to true reform. Above all, the party needs to abandon much of their social conservatismto appeal to millennials interests to stay relevant on the national political scene. David Frum offers four potential solutions for where the Republican party can go from here. He himself believes that the first two considerations of doubling down on elite backed candidates or tactical concession on immigration are unhelpful and too narrow respectively. Therefore, his most confident considerations are in his third and fourth options. His fourth choice to keep the Republican party relevant is, in his words, to change the rules of the game. (Frum 2016) Parties are in favor of processes that help advance their (or limit the other party s) political and ideological goals. Frum recognizes that outside of the presidential election, Republicans have done quite well on down ballot elections. For this reason, they have the ability to exert considerably more control over voting and election processes than Democrats. For example, having the ability to gerrymander as well as change voter registration rules
  • 15. The Abolitionist Movement Centered on values of personal freedom and human rights, the Abolitionist Movement was an effort to end slavery. This movement was a lot fiercer than its predecessors. They demanded that harsh words be used when talking about slavery and slave owners. They spread the graphic realness of the horrors slaves faced. Beatings, brandings, and other physical abuses were commonplace and the knowledge of these cruelties helped sway some Americans to the Abolitionists side. They also believed that once slavery was abolished, black people should become equal citizens. Some groups within the movement were backed by religious beliefs. Some argued that America was in line for a divine punishment if slavery continued. A moral suasion strategy began

These two acts were supposed to make it harder to become an American Citizen. Timothy Pickering agreed with the act, while Jefferson was against it. The Sedition and Alien acts allowed the president to weed through the immigrants and choose which ones he didn t want living in the U.S. Pickering s argument may be correct, however Madison s writing is far better than Pickering s. Timothy s tone was definitely written for everyday people, it is very comprehensible. Throughout his work he uses mostly pathos and logos, there next to no ethos in his work. When he did use ethos, they were not embedded in his work it was just a paragraph,

Satellite photos were also compared with photographs taken more recently in an attempt to find unexpected shifts of ground that might be Holloway s grave(Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). Prosecutor Hans Mos declared the case closed and no charges would be filed due to lack of evidence. Even though the case was closed the prosecution continued an interest in the Kalpoe s and Joran van der Sloot. The interest remained due to an alleged chat room message, where one of the three had stated that Holloway was dead. This was contested by Deepak Kalpoe s attorney, who stated that the prosecution, had misconstrued a reference to a teacher who had drowned as one to Holloway. Attorney Ronald Wix also stated, Unless (Mos) finds a body in the bathroom of one of these kids, there s no way in hell they can arrest them anymore (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway,
  • 19. Reflection Of The Classroom Environment Classroom Environment. As I connect back to my ontological commitment of transferring knowledge for the sake of building a foundation that can carry students through to graduation, I focus on how I can determine why I believe the classroom environment is critical to me. Perhaps it goes back to my positionality, where I truly believe that everyone has a right to learn and grow and that knowledge is the key to success in anything. As a lifelong learner, when I encountered difficulties transferring knowledge to students, I worked to develop intricate ways of teaching complicated material. In some instances, it meant changing the environment altogether, which is perhaps the reason I am a strong proponent for active learning classrooms. In my last qualitative course, I had the opportunity to interview and observe faculty in both types of settings a traditional classroom and an active learning classroom. I gained valuable insight on why teachers using ALCs seemed to thrive and truly engage with students. The flexibility an ALC environment provides for both faculty and students connects back to the theoretical framework of student centered learning and discovery learning theories. My goal in using qualitative inquiry is to determine a better understanding of the successes and challenges in using an ALC because converting classrooms to more modern environments is costly and not many schools have the funding for it (Walker, Brooks, Baepler, 2011). The cornstarch is actually made from the endosperm of the corn, which makes up most of the kernels that we eat when enjoying popcorn or corn on the cob. Cornstarch, also sometimes called cornflour, is produced by grinding, washing and drying the endosperm of the corn until it reaches that fine, powdery state. Cornstarch is gluten free. Cornstarch has many culinary uses, but it is most often used as a thickener for sauces, gravies and fruit pie fillings. Cornstarch thickens very quickly and easily, and forms a clear sauce after cooking, rather than an opaque one. It has roughly twice the thickening power of flour, and while it is flavorless after cooking, it does

People in a crisis that requires escape will attempt to move faster than normal, copy the actions of others, interact physically with each other, and ignore alternative strategies in favor of following the mass escape trend. The results of this panic induced herd behavior can be very negative. Psychologists posit that a group mind can overtake a mob and embolden people to act in ways they would not individually, increasing the likelihood that situations become violent. Herd Behavior has been going on for so long, that most people don t even realize it is happening. The violence is a good reasoning behind the influence seen with peer pressure. People are pressured, or influenced, by others to do good or bad things. This is seen in teens most of all. Teenagers are more active when it comes to trends. Wanting to be caught up with the norm is an example of Herd Behavior. Everyone starts wearing a certain kind of accessory and that sets up for anyone else to follow the crowd. The instinct to follow the crowd is understood when looking at the high rates of negative peer pressure in the teenage years. Teenagers are more likely to conform. Furthermore, People succumb to the roles of society that have been laid out over time instead of going against it or being independent. • 25. Robert Cohn Vs Robert Cohn Moving on to the next character that struggles with his identity, Robert Cohn, much like Jake, wrestles with the question of is he a bull or is he a steer? While, unlike Jake, he is capable of sexual relations and has an affair with Brett, Cohn delivers the ironic statement that it s no life being a steer , hinting at his insecurity in terms of his masculinity (Hemingway 145). On the surface, it would appear that Cohn does not have adequate reason to be insecure about who he is as a person. After all, he suffers no side effects from the war and is able to live his life as he pleases, dissimilar to Jake. But Cohn is set apart from the others in the story. Gross brilliantly puts into words just how subtle this differentiation can be by stating how natural it seems . . . to call Jake Barnes Jake, Mike Campbell Mike, Bill Gorton Bill, Lady Brett Ashley Brett, and how unnatural . . . to call Robert Cohn Robert (123). He then follows this up with the assertion that Jake, and everyone else, calls Cohn Cohn to distance him (Gross 123). Another aspect of this differentiation results from Cohn s status as the only Jew in the novel. One further distinction is the idea that Cohn has never known real love. As Jake points out in the beginning, Cohn was married by the first girl who was nice to him , not a woman he truly loved (Hemingway 12). Upon meeting Frances, a literary woman who took a liking to Cohn and wanted to marry him, Cohn fancies that he was sure he loved her

Its multi dimensional character makes it much more subtle and complex to deal with than normal foreign policy issues (Xu Xin, 2001). DISCUSSION Beijing s One China version, stating that Taiwan is part of the PRC, has never been accepted by foreign states. While foreign governments recognize the PRC as the legal government of China, they almost uniformly disagree with the PRC s territorial claim over Taiwan. That is why, in their respective the US and the UK simply acknowledge, Canada takes note of, and Japan understands and respects the PRC s position that Taiwan is part of China.11 These carefully chosen terms, used instead of the word, recognize, as well as negotiations history, directly refute the RPC s claim of an international consensus that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. These foreign countries positions also imply that the ROC s loss of recognition does not extinguish its statehood (Hsieh, P., 2009). After the conclusion of the San Francisco Peace Treaty between Japan and the allied powers in 1951, Japan and the ROC signed the Treaty of Taipei. Under these treaties, Japan confirmed that it renounced its claim to sovereignty over Taiwan. Consequently, it is not disputed that from October 1945 to 1949, both mainland China and Taiwan belong to one nation: ROC. Even if we assume that the San Francisco Peace Treaty is not able to decide the status of Taiwan, it cannot be ignored
  • 37. The Sexuality Of The Victorian Century In modern day America and many other countries, it is common for women to express their sexuality. Trends such as crop tops and high waisted shorts have allowed this to be acceptable to society. During the 19th century Victorian era, behaviors like such would be outrageous and horrifying. In that time, sexuality was especially feared. Women were viewed as domestic goddesses; their only desire was to care for the family and fulfill their husband s needs. It became quite common that women came to also have anxiety over their sexuality. This is clearly seen in Draculathrough Lucy s diary entries. Despite her ultimate transformation into a sensual character, she begins as a woman hiding her sexual cravings. In his gothic novel, Dracula, Bram Stokeruses the title character to expose the repressed sexuality of the other characters, especially the females, criticizing the beliefs of the Victorian Era about woman as sexless figures. Their characteristics and traditions of clothing, shelter, and food are still around today. This tribe is known for their peacefulness and religious beliefs and 0many experts consider their lifestyle to have been a wealth of culture. They were resilient and seemed to recuperate from the many hardships they faced, even destitution. Navajo traditions were orally passed on to younger generations from elders, and even other tribes that the navajos branched from. They formed a very distinct type of religion known as the Peyote religion. This religion was unconventional compared to other native american religions. Some of their rituals used in healing members of the tribe could last for days and even over a week. Every aspect of their life involved some type of religious ceremony. When it came to planting crops and harvesting they would pray, sing, and dance to the sun god named Tsohanoai for a bountiful year. Not all followed this religion once Christianity was shared with them. In more modern times between twenty and fifty percent now identify themselves as Christians. Another large part of their religion and beliefs are their healing ceremonies. In 1941 an

Effects Of Mongol Rule On China In breaking down the causations and effects of the Mongols regarding their rule on China during 1200 1500, one can see these include the implementation of governing philosophies of elected officials that shaped Chinese culture, the influence of tax farming systems on China s economy, and the influence of trade on social hierarchies. An example of an impact by the Mongols on Chinese rule is the negative influences of tax farming on Chinese economy. Another example of a causation of Mongol rule on Chinais the of tax farming systems in order to improve revenue in the area. China during Mongol domination, incorporated philosophy and organization into the government, which helped it shape their cultural and political outlook. An example of an impact of Mongol rule on China s government is their use of provinces to organize China s cities, specifically with Yunnan. The Mongols used provinces to systemize the government and appointed governors to each district, where that governor would take care of the taxes. The reason for this method of organization is that the Mongols trusted foreigners more than the Chinese, so they appointed their tasks to foreigners such as the governor of Yunnan. The governor of Yunnan didn t have any major positions, but he helped develop the trade in his region and promoted Confucian belief which along with the provincial organization shaped China. An example of a causation for the incorporation of Confucian belief in government was due to the Mongols
  • 41. Manmade Disasters and Insurance Coverage The problem at hand is the mitigation of man made disasters, and the lessening affect on humanity by natural disasters. Many man made disasters are instigated by a natural disaster that a population is well aware of, yet they choose to ignore the risk because they are not personally involved or think it will not happen to them. Up to now the alternatives have basically focused on remediation by the governmentafter the fact. Somehow we have come to believe that if we build our house on a sandbar that the government will make us whole when the hurricane washes it into the ocean. This is faulty on so many levels. Government responsibility is an oxymoron in itself. In an article by James Payne, he cites numerous incidents of the government being irresponsible and actually causing more damage to the environment and populations because of mismanagement and poor oversight (James, 2010). There is an inherent conflict of interest in hoping that your government will protect you since the government requires funding and that funding can be hampered by restricting business and construction. Your life and property becomes a riskthe government is willing to take in exchange for development and taxes. Insurancecompanies provide another alternative to this problem but they too are hindered by governmental regulations intended to help people. Once again governmental agencies have infringed on the private enterprise ability to resolve a problem. Left to their own devices insurance

Ethos, logos and pathos appeals are useful in many situations in life, but it was until I understood them completely and managed to use them wisely that I realized they helped me to enter a discourse community. In order to be accepted into a community, a person must be able to learn how the community works and must be able to commit to it. Everyone joins a discourse community in a point in their lives so it s really important to master and acknowledge ethos, logos and pathos appeals. As I mentioned before swimmers aren t based on their ability to master the techniques but also in the values they posses. The values they posses are respect, honesty, fairness and courage. I had to learn and use those values everyday I went to swimming practice. There s one thing that I needed to have to become part of the discourse community, which was being passionate about swimming and not giving up. At the beginning it was really hard for me not to give up when I was exhausted, but after becoming more passionate for swimming I never gave up. There were moments when I thought of giving up, but I knew that if I really wanted to call my self a swimmer I shouldn t give up and I didn t. For example, once I was in a Swimming Festival in my High School where I competed the four different strokes. I always finished second in the 50 meter freestyle race, but that day I decided I would end up first place. The race started and I jumped into the water and started pacing my self so that I would finish strong. In the first 25 meters we were all tied up and I was starting to feel tired. But I knew I couldn t give up, so I took a deep breath and pushed harder. I pushed harder and was able to win the first place. After this race, I realized that even though I felt like giving up, something inside me was telling me to push harder and that thought led me to success. I was able to

While both Alfred Lord Tennyson and Wilfred Owen describe war in great detail in their works Charge of the Light Brigade and Dulce Et Decorum Est, respectively, Tennyson describes the courage and honor of warfare, whereas Owen goes into more detail about the horrors and atrocities that go hand in hand with war. Tennyson describes a battle in which 600 bold and courageous men storm a valley, which he refers to as the Valley of Death (line 7), to meet their almost inevitable death. Owen in his Dulce et Decorum Est, describes a scene from World War I in which soldiers are bombarded with gas shells. In this essay I will argue that despite their differing subjects and themes, both Tennyson and Owen s work prove that the honor and courage of the soldiers comes directly from the hardships they must endure. The fact that the men knew the dangers of fighting the battle and knew that they were facing death is the factor in which Tennyson draws the theme of courage. In line 23, he states: Boldly they rode and well, into the Jaws of Death (lines 23 4). In order to describe the experience of war throughout his work, AlfredLord Tennyson describes the courage of the 600 men who rode into the Jaws of Death, to fight for victory even though they were facing inevitable death. Although they fight valiantly, they are eventually ransacked by the gun fire of their opposition. The 600 are forced to retreat back from the valley, where even more men are killed. • 51. The Song Analysis Of Where Is The Love The song Where Is The Love by the Black Eyed Peas is a very heartfelt prayer for the healing and suffering in the world and society that we live in. I feel like the song is about exactly what the title is asking. Where is the love? Sometimes we have to stop, look around us and think about the relationships we have with other people. Are our relationships built on foundations of true love, compassion and kindness? Although the songs was originally released in 2003, most of the issues the song focuses on are still relevant today, in 2017. Which really makes me wonder, where IS the love? Surely after 14 years, things would have changed. Hate and war have existed since the beginning of humanity. Crime is an enormous part of our society, in the past and in the present. Imagine a worldthat is crime free, the perfect utopia. A world where everyone accepts their neighbour for the person they truly are, without racism, without judgement, without oppression. Where is the love? recognizes chaos in a broken world, intoxicated with violence and hate. The song opens with the lyrics, What s wrong with the world Mama, people livin like they ain t got no Mama, I think the whole world s addicted to Drama, only attracted to the things that will bring them trauma For me the lyric about No Mama The people of today s society don t know how to behave properly. We lack knowledge and understanding of the world. We don t pay attention to anyone but ourselves. We don t know right from wrong. We are completely oblivious to what this world is turning into and all we are doing are things that hurt ourselves and others. This lyric about having No Mama saddens me as there are a lot of people out there in this world who do not have a mother to guide them on the right path. We need a mother figure in our life because having a mother teaches us basic life lessons that allow us to survive and be a good person. Such as to always say please and thank you, respect people, be kind and love your neighbour. I can not relate to not having a mother figure in my life as I have had the same amazing mother my whole life. She has taught me from the moment I was born, to treat everyone equally, be kind, and respect and love everyone. To this

B) The pattern that initially seemed random would begin to acquire uniformity. Half of the electrons would transmit and half would reflect and go back. Each of the electrons that transmitted would carry its complete charge and mass. C) One cannot say where the electron really is, whether a given electron will transmit or reflect. It is only possible to state the probability of electrons actions. For example, one may say that the probability is one in five that the electron will transmit and four out of five that it will be reflected back. The unpredictability inherent with this result and the fact that it seems to contradict both Newtonian physics as well as reality, make it a less than ideal paradigm for many physicists. Risk And Governmentality By Michel Foucault Risk and governmentality Michel Foucault, a French philosopher, introduced the term governmentality in his lectures at CollГЁge de France in the late1970s and early 1980s; so roughly between 1977 and 1984. The term governmentality refers to both the way in which a state governs the body of its population and to the way in which people are taught to govern themselves. In this paper I will explain what a governmentality approach to risk means and what the implications of this approach are. Foucault himself did not spend a lot of his time on the topic of risk in his writings about governmentality. According to Foucault, governmentality was understood in the broad sense of techniques and procedures for directing human behaviour. Government of children, government of souls and consciences, government of a household, of a state, or of oneself . Foucault argues that governmentality began to emerge in Europe in the sixteenth century and by the eighteenth century, the early modern European states began to think of their citizens in terms of populations, or society , a social body requiring intervention, management and protection. From a Foucauldian perspective, the nature of risk is not the key question for the analysis of risk. Foucauldian writers see risk as a calculative rationality . Those who adopt the governmentality approach agree on the fact that risk is something that can be managed through human interventions. Governmentality scholars explore risk in the

The revolver is a handgun featuring a rotating cylinder with multiple chambers to hold bullets. Before the invention of the revolver, people used single shot guns, like rifles and shotguns. Each time a bullet was shot, the shooter had to reload another bullet and then shoot again. During the revolutionary war, soldiers used muskets, which are very inaccurate single shot guns, extensively. Multi barrel guns could shoot multiple bullets at once, were heavy and cumbersome. Revolvers are lightweight, compact, and portable. In addition to handguns, Colt made revolving rifles and shotguns. This made shooting and hunting easier for gun
