Technical Education Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of technical education can be both a challenging and rewarding
endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the need for a comprehensive understanding of technical
education but also in the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging
manner.
Technical education encompasses a wide range of subjects, from engineering and computer
science to vocational training and industrial skills. Navigating through this diverse landscape
requires thorough research to grasp the intricacies of each field. This involves delving into the
history, evolution, and current trends in technical education, as well as understanding its impact
on individuals, industries, and society.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to presenting the information coherently and persuasively.
Balancing technical details with accessible language is crucial to ensure that the essay resonates
with both experts in the field and general readers. Additionally, organizing the content in a
logical and structured manner is essential to convey a seamless flow of ideas.
The task is not merely about regurgitating facts but also about critically analyzing the role of
technical education in addressing societal needs and challenges. This requires the writer to form
well-supported arguments and draw connections between theoretical concepts and real-world
applications.
The difficulty is further heightened by the need for originality and creativity. With a topic as
broad as technical education, the risk of producing a generic essay that fails to stand out is ever-
present. Writers must strive to bring a unique perspective or present well-known information in a
fresh and engaging light.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on technical education demands a combination of research,
critical thinking, and effective communication skills. While it may be challenging, the process
offers an opportunity to delve deep into a topic that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future. As
with any challenging task, the satisfaction of producing a well-crafted essay is the ultimate
reward.

Scope of Managerial Economics
Q1. Yes. Firms represent a combination of people, physical assets, and information
(financial, technical, marketing, and so on). People directly involved include
stockholders, managers, workers, suppliers, and customers. Businesses use scarce
resources that would otherwise be available for other purposes, pay income and
other taxes, provide employment opportunities, and are responsible for much of the
material well being of our society. Thus, all of society is indirectly involved in the
firm s operation. Firms exist because they are useful in the process of allocating

Omaha s Warren E. Buffett, the billionaire head of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., also
looks for companies that have strong franchises and enjoy pricing flexibility, high
ROE, high cash flow, owner oriented management, and predictable earnings that are
not natural targets of regulation. Like Price, Buffett has profited enormously through
his investments. To apply Price s and Buffett s investment criteria successfully,
business managers and investors must be sensitive to fundamental economic and
demographic trends. Perhaps the most obvious of these is the aging of the
population. Health care demands will continue to soar. In recognition of this fact,
investors have bid up the shares of companies offering prescription drugs, health care,
and health care cost containment (e.g., home health agencies). Perhaps less obvious
is that an aging and increasingly wealthy population will save growing amounts for
their children s education and retirement. This bodes well for mutual fund operators,
insurance companies, and other firms that offer distinctive financial services. As the
overall population continues to enjoy growing income, spending on leisure activities
is apt to grow; companies that offer distinctive goods and services in this area will
do well. Helping well heeled customers have fun has always been a good business.

The Pros And Cons Of World History
World history is the study of direct and indirect interconnections, interdependences
and linkages of states, civilizations, cultures, religions and race. The study of world
history allows historians to inspect history on a wider scope, transcending state and
ecological boundaries, analyzing the impacts of social, political and economic
exchanges on all of humanity as opposed to a narrow national or regional account.
World history is vital in conveying how networks and linkages within society have
led to a globalized and cohesively social, political, economic, world.
However, it also exhibits the evolution and spread of ideologies, religions, cultures
and politics in order to understand and analyze global antagonisms, differences and
conflicts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

understanding of popular history (e.g. the plague), by putting it in a global context,
in which the origins and impacts can be analysed and traced to a much wider scale,

Common Infection Among Women During Child Bearing
Period
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a common infection among women, it can affect
up to 75% of women during child bearing period. VVC usually associated with
considerable morbidity; symptoms include intense pruritus, vaginal discharge and
dyspareunia. Many factors have been identified to predispose to such condition such
as oral contraceptive pills, pregnancy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and long term
broad spectrum antibiotic (Cassone, 2015, Falagas et al., 2006). Beyond the normal
host, the range of patients at risk for invasive candidiasisexpand to patients with
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, those immunosuppressed due to cancer
therapy and organ transplantation (Bassyouni et al., 2015a).
Recurrent VVC (RVVC) is a more serious condition due to recurrences of symptoms
( 4/year) and refraction to successful treatment. Long term fluconazole therapy may
help in delaying the recurrences but does not result in a long lasting cure (Sobel et
al., 2004). Maintenance and preventive therapy is essential for six months but,
patients may need to stay on medication for a longer period (Ringdahl, 2000).
Recent epidemiological studies founded the prevalence of RVVC higher than that
reported previously as the recurrence rate about 7 8% of women who experience a
first episode and the discomfort associated with RVVC is intense which markedly
affects the quality of life of young women with a strong negative impact on work and
social life (Cassone, 2015).

Summary Of Kenneth Slessor s North Country
Through the immersion of one in a variety of physical environments, the
manipulation of genre, form and perspective presents a polysemic representation of a
diverse range of landscapes, in turn allowing responders to develop complex
understandings into the human psyche. Specifically, through the interwoven
utilization of complex allusions and personalized outlooks Alain De Bottons The Art
Of Travel shapes humanities greater knowledge of traveling s impact on the human
behavior and perception. Likewise, this notion is extended amongst Kenneth Slessor
s minimalistic, poetic piece North Country in which the composer highlights man s
dichotomous relationship with the physical world, and how ongoing, differentiated
experiences cultivate interpersonal growth and develop individualized standpoints
towards the wider globe. Consequently, both texts elicit portrayals of innumerable
landscapes, which foreground the intricacies of civilization through the construction
of a piece that reveals the subjectivity of our human mentalities today.
Recollecting empowers the individual to delve deeper into meaningful encounters
that assist in developing identity whether it be from a reminisced, imaginative or
realistic. Illustrating this analogy is Botton s AOT through its alteration of the basic
novel structure to fully capture landscapes as the product of personal perception, all
whilst challenging the reader to reconsider the true sense of these places and their

According to Muller and Abernethy, Expert anticipation is linked to the acquisition
of the essential kinematics of the action being viewed (Muller Abernethy, 2012). As
opposition plays begin to unfold, they rely heavily on two fundamental skills of
AFL known as decision making and ability to contest the ball. Here they worked
effectively as a team in order to take back possession and kick another goal (Ryan,
n.d.).
Before the game, the players knew the stakes. If they manage to pull through and
win this game it will be the first time they have made finals three times in a row in
the last ten years. With many of their players retiring at the end of this season, such
as, Sam Mitchell, Drew Petrie, and Matt Priddis, the threat of life after retirement
may take its toll with feelings of grief, loss of identity, loss of competence and loss
of friends which will affect their social, psychological and physical states in a
negative way (BRD201 lecture: Athlete welfare and well being, slide 22). This
game will be these players last chance to push for a premiership and leave their mark
as one of the greatest players in the AFL.
After their amazing victory against Adelaide, the players of the West Coast Eagles
make top 8. With this, they are granted one more chance to take home another
premiership and be praised their coaches, fans and support staff for another season

The Art Of War, By Sun Tzu And The Paper `` The
Challenge...
War strategy is a complicated subject. A few decades ago, warfare was generally
thought of only in terms of physical fighting; however, today s technological society
has introduced a new arena of defense and attacks. The book The Art of War by Sun
Tzu and the paper The Challenge of Information Warfare by Major General Wang
Pufeng are both great readings about how countries must act to be successful in war.
Both authors agree on two major aspects of wartime strategy: information and the
use of people. Despite the similarities Tzu s strategy needs to evolve be fully
relevant. Tzu and Pufeng both show similarities but Tzu s theory needs to expand to
fit the times.
Information is the most important thing in wartime. There are three things ... Show

Tzu talks about using information against the enemy, Having converted spies, getting
hold of the enemy s spies and using them for our own purposes. [1] He talks about
using the enemy s spies against them so they can spread false information and
deceive the enemy. Pufeng says, Information warfare includes engaging in an active
offense of information suppression and attack, as well as in the reactive defense of
information counter reconnaissance, resistance to interference, and defense against
destruction. [4] Gathering, controlling and using information to attack are all items
that these two authors think are important when fighting in a war. Another arena that
the authors agree on is the importance of people in the army.
The two authors both agree that soldiers are an important part of wartime strategy.
Tzu believes it is important how soldiers are treated, Therefore soldiers must be
treated in the first instance with humanity, but kept under control by means of iron
discipline. This is a certain road to victory. [5] Tzu continues to demonstrate the
importance of the treatment of soldiers in saying, If a general shows confidence in
his men but always
Essay on Happiness and Drought
It is interesting to think about why our ancestors decided to include the pursuit of
happiness as an American s unalienable right, as opposed to the previously
considered, right to land. To live a life without happiness, it seemed to them, is to
live a life without meaning. Edgar Lee Masters poems commonly reflect on the
quality, or lack thereof, of happiness in the afterlife of dead countrymen (and
women). The diction, word choice and imagery in Fiddler Jones by Masters
expresses the seemingly inherent joy of a lackadaisical man as well as the value of
perspectives and the ability to posit happiness over fortune and land.
As many of Master s poems in his Spoon River Anthology, the title Fiddler Jones
refers to a man who is not only a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the poem begins by talking generally about the fundamental process of
life, lines 3 and 4 bring an individual to the stage in which the poem is set forth. This
is done by introducing the art of fiddle playing and the skill that such a feat requires.
A skill is a tenet that sets apart an individual from a general crowd. It is something
that one may seek pleasure from and it is here that the speaker of the poem creates
this separation the individual.
And if the people find you can fiddle,
Why, fiddle you must, for all your life. (ll. 3 4)
At this point we are being advised by the speaker that if we have a skill we must
use it for the rest of our lives. But it also says that if people find you can fiddle,
which suggests a communal aspect. This skill that sets one apart also makes them
a part of a community that cherishes the skill which one has acquired. This further
contributes to the meaning on the poem because this is the point in which we are
given insight into the speaker s philosophy. This belief being that if one is good at
something it should fully encompass their being for the duration of one s life, thus
rendering it a passion that becomes as a part of living as breathing itself. This leads
into the next lines where we are now required to consider value as a component in
distinguishing divergent perspectives. The point in which perspectives diverge
happens in lines 4 and 5, where Master s imagery is employed to depict the scene of a
Andrew Jackson Failures
Andrew Jackson did not further the success in America. Jackson corrupted the
government to gain power. He Forced Native Americans to flee their homes. Jackson
also created the spoil system to further himself and hurt others. Andrew Jackson is a

the American people about himself. Jackson said he was like every other American
which was false because he Was rich. Although he didn t establish in politics as a

The Indian removal act and the trail of tears were the two of the most embarrassing
things in American history. And who was the president in charge of these outrageous
acts? Andrew Jackson. The first one, the Indian removal act of 1830. I suggest for

While the father s role is crucial in our son s life, who better to influence our young
sons to fight for family, and to be a faithful and loving husband than their God fearing
mother?
My Revelation of Available Time
The biggest aha moment I took away from this book was that the time to prepare our
boys with the available time God has given us NOW.
I don t know about you but that literally brought me to my knees with tears. And I
asked God to forgive me if I had not used my available time properly with my son.
I was so convicted when I realized, God gave me my son Brandon for a certain
amount of AVAILBALE time. My available time was going to be the time he lives
with me and the time I am here on earth.
Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow. What is
the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist)

ENGR: 2110: Engineering Fundamentals 1: Statics Introduction
Engineers ought to maintain commendable design and implementation standards in
the development of any project. In fact, doing the contrary jeopardizes the welfare of
the people utilizing the materials created. As such, the knowledge on static concepts
needs to be prioritized in the development and implementation of engineering
projects to minimize the possibilities of failure due to poor planning. In 1978, the
Hartford Civic Center coliseum collapse raised concerns on the need for proper error
identification in the engineering process. This tragedy occurred when the roof
collapsed after a heavy snowfall in the region. During the event, no casualties were
experienced since no one was at the stadium in the time of the catastrophe (Martin
Delatte, 2001). Nonetheless, the lack of casualties does not alleviate the errors made
by the engineers in the design process. Additionally, the failure of this structure
sparks numerous controversies on the ethical responsibilities of engineers in the
design and maintenance of structures. For a fact, the collapse of the Hartford Civic
Center has many ethical implications and it was a design and management blunder by
the engineers tasked with this responsibility.
Description of failure
The collapse of this structure was mainly attributed to improper calculations and
anticipation of the possible errors in the design employed. According

She had memorized the sky and was sure of her observation. (Gromley p.55) This
was the great discovery that her constant vigilance brought into the open, as she saw a
comet of unknown origin. It occurred to her that this might be a comet. Maria
recorded the presumed comet s coordinates. The next night the star moved again.
This time she was sure it was a comet. Her father wrote to Professor William Bond
at the Harvard University observatory about Maria s discovery. Professor Bond
submitted Maria s name to the king of Denmark who had offered a gold medal to a
person who discovers a comet seen only through a telescope. Another person,
Father Francesco de Vico of Rome discovered the same comet two days later

Effect of Media Violence on Children
The children of today are surrounded by technology and entertainment that is full of
violence. It is estimated that the average child watches from three to five hours of
television a day! Listening to music is also a time consuming pastime among
children. With all of that exposure, one might pose the question, How can seeing so
much violence on television and video games and hearing about violence in in music
affect a child s behavior? Obviously these media have a big influence on childrens

death at a bowling alley (AP Nov. 11), are seen as heroes to a lot of children. Most
people would agree that they are not very good role models and that the lyrics that
they write promoting shooting policeman and raping women can have a negative
affect on children s behavior. However, there are examples of music having a
positive influence on kids are also prevalent. The girl rap group Salt N Pepa, who
are often categorized according to their sexual image, also project an image of
feminine strength. Cheryl James, a.k.a Salt, said, We get compliments from
women like, You inspired me to get out of an abusive relationship. It makes me
feel good about what I do (AP Nov. 5). There is also some good examples of music,
which brings a more positive feeling to the group. An example of this can be heard in
the animaniacs compact disk.
Television
Television is especially influential on the children of today. Thirty years ago, not
every home had a television; they were considered a luxury that only the rich could

incessantly. Many children s programs are extremely violent and a child can learn
violent behavior from watching these programs. For example, about a month ago,
in Norway, a small girl was beaten, stripped, and left to die by three boys aged 5, 6,
and 6. When asked why

The Negative Effects Of Smartphones And Social Media
In the world we live in today everyone is connected to one another through their
smartphones and social media, Although this has had positive effect on the world i
believe that the negative effects outweigh the positive effects. The extensive use
of smartphones and social media have made it harder for students to gather and
obtain information due to their dependence on technology to easily gather it for
them. Studies have shown that the increased use of social media and smartphone
have lead to mental health problem among teens. With everyone so worried about
their facebooks and instagrams they haven t been able to learn how to properly
socialize with other people. Smartphones and social media have negatively
affected students ability to obtain information, alter their emotional stability, and
negatively influence their social skills. Smartphones and social media have made
gathering information difficult for people in living in the world because they rely
on their smartphone and other technology to obtain the information the need for
them. This has affected people s ability to read and absorb information from long
articles or book where they actually have to take the time to read them. In his
article Is Google Making Us Stupid? Nicholas Carr argues that the use of
technology has made it harder for him to read books or other long articles stating
My mind would get caught up in the narrative or the turns of the argument, and i d
spend hours strolling through long stretches of prose. That s rarely the case
anymore. Now my concentration often starts to drift after two or three pages (Carr

piece of writing like he used to be able too. Carr blames this on his use of
technology stating I think i know what s going on. For more than a decade now, i ve
been spending alot of time online, searching and surfing and sometimes adding to the
great databases of the internet... Research that once required days in the stacks or
periodical rooms of libraries can now be done in minutes (Carr 314). Nicholas Carr
states this to put into perspective that technology is reducing the time and

The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And
Cressida
From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can
understand a lot about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in
literature, and it is called characterization. Characterization is the method in which
the author reveals the attributes of characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida,
Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to further their characterizations.
This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks fought the Trojans
over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves
around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects
of the war as well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army,
encourages the Greek army by motivating them to persevere through the long lasting
war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test them, and Troy will eventually
crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the Greek
leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason
for the failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits
Agamemnon s imperfect character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric,
which also relates to their roles in the Greek army. Throughout his speech,
Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point, and the
repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of
his address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your
cheeks? (1.3.2), asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies
to this by stating that all people have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to
obstacles and setbacks, and that they should continue to be persistent. He uses the
imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the growth of the Greek
army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues, he
presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks
abashed behold our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially
the identical as the opening question. It also has the same word choice of cheeks, and
Blood Count Literature Review
REVIEW ON IMAGE PROCESSING USED IN HAEMOTOLOGY
Abstract In medical analysis blood cell count plays vital role. Variations in the count
of blood cells cause many diseases in the human body. For overall health assessment
and diagnosis of many disorders complete blood count is required. Abnormal increase
or decrease in cell count indicates that person has indispensable medical condition.
The Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a blood test, extensively used to check various
disorders such as infections, allergies, problems with clotting, anaemia, leukaemia
etc. In order to perform CBC test, the blood film is stained and then imaged with a
transmission light microscope. Here the analysis of the blood sample is done
manually in order to count number of blood cells and also to identify disorders in
blood samples through a microscope. But it is a time consuming process and also
leads to undesirable human error. In essence, the goal of this review paper is to find
out and validate the necessary image processing steps and different methods and
algorithms used to count blood cells on blood smear slides. This paper aims to
provide: mitigate problems posed by different conditions such as noisy and
degraded images; detect the overlapping cells; to differentiate RBCs ,WBCs and
also platelets which are present in a blood smear slide counting RBCs and WBCs
and even platelets and also to detect the disease related to blood.

Gilgamesh Flood Vs Flood
Flood vs. Flood After reading the flood story in the Epic of Gilgamesh and the
flood story in Genesis, I was surprised by how far apart these stories written and by
how many similarities I found between them. In this paper I am going to discuss
the many similarities and difference between these two stories and reasons as to
why, although so far apart in time, can be very similar in text. First I would like to
discuss the similarities I found while reading these two stories. The obvious
similarity is that both stories involved a flood that wiped out all life on earth. Both
stories involve one man being spoken to be their respective god to build a boat to
prepare for the flood (Genesis 11) (Gilgamesh 108). Noah and Gilgamesh had
families that also helped build their boats. These two men were also instructed to
bring aboard all living creatures (Gilgamesh 108) (Genesis 12).... Show more content

Seven days of flooding, seven days to complete the boat, seven decks on the boat,
seven days waiting in the flood. Also in both these stories the floods were caused
by large amounts of rain that occurred for seven days. Another fascinating
similarity I found was the use of birds. Gilgamesh and Noah sent out raven and
dove in order to find land as they got closer and closer to land (Gilgamesh 11)
(Genesis 13). When both boats finally came to rest, they were on the top of a
mountain (Genesis 13) (Gilgamesh 11). After the boats rested Gilgamesh and Noah s
their gods spoke to them, telling them to get off their
Disadvantages Of Intestine
Improve your health by knowing more about the intestine.
Intestine is the key to one s beauty and health as well as ageing.
The intestine is not just an organ that handles digestion, nutrient absorption and
excretion.
Intestine problems are often associated with constipation.
Constipation can cause stomach to bulge and many people are concerned about it.
However, this is just one example caused by the deteriorating intestinal environment.
Other than digestion, nutrient absorption and excretion, the intestine has other
functions which are less known. Such functions are closely related to the whole
human body.
This is why when one s intestinal environment deteriorates, it does not simply cause
stomachache and constipation.

Euglena is used in many ways these days. What is euglena?
It is a micro algae with both plant and animal characteristics.
Euglena is a type of micro algae, about 0.05mm long, that thrives in freshwater. It has
existed since 500 million years ago.
It is a rare living organism where it can carry out photosynthesis like a plant. At the
same time, it has the ability to move on it s own like an animal.
Euglena is loaded with a rich variety of nutrients.
Nutrients from both plant and animal sources can be found in euglena. In addition,
since euglena does not have a hard cellulose cell wall, its nutrients are easily digested
and absorbed by the human body.
DHA, EPA amino acids found in animal sources.
Vitamins, minerals found in plant sources.
Euglena holds vast potential for use as a resource and a food ingredient.
It can be used as a food ingredient that contains excellent characteristics and rich in

Neuromancer And The Matrix Analysis
William Gibson s Neuromancer, and The Matrix by The Wachowskis both depict a
society in which humans are under constant manipulation by indispensable machines.
In Neuromancer, the protagonist Case is indirectly manipulated by a powerful
Artificial Intelligence named Wintermute. In The Matrix, majority of the human
population lives within a computer simulated world, run by machines. However, both
storylines depict the fact that manipulation is more abundant than is often seen, as
both protagonists are more frequently under the influence of other humans.
Neuromancer and The Matrixboth demonstrate the nature of manipulation, and
explore the fact that individuals are oblivious to the manipulation that they face.
Manipulation is ubiquitous. Throughout the movie, the Matrix is presented to the
audience as the as the only source of manipulation, What is the Matrix? Control
(The Matrix). The perspective shown to the audience implies that the robots are
the only manipulative force present within this society. Morpheus introduces Neo
to the concept of the Matrix, by saying You are a slave, Neo (The Matrix) and
further explaining it as A prison for your mind (The Matrix). However, even once
Neo has been freed from the matrix, he remains susceptible. Neo is constantly being
manipulated by both the Oracle and Morpheus. The oracle is able to manipulate Neo
into saving Morpheus by telling him he was not The One . In doing so, she
prevented Neo from becoming arrogant, and careless,

KINEMATICS
Abstract Kinematics of linear motion is defined as the studies of motion of objects
without considering the effects that produce the motion. This experiment will show
how to determine the linear motion with constant (uniform) velocity particularly the
dynamic cart and linear motion with constant (uniform) acceleration, (e.g. free fall of
motion). At the end of the experiment we found out that the velocity is a speed that
involves direction of an object as well as the time. While for the acceleration, it is
directly proportional to the distance or height but inversely proportional to the time.

Adjust the track if the cart moves until it became stationary. We then attached the
picket fence to the cart. The first photo gate was set mounting at 25 cm mark and the
second at 65 cm mark to the track. We adjust the photo gates height so the picket
fence attached to the cart will not touch the photo gate. We securely placed the gates
to the track perpendicular to minimize errors.
The phone plug of both photo gates are connected to the smart timer, photo gate 1
to channel 1 and photo gate 2 to channel 2. We then set the mode of the smart timer
to measure TIME, TWO GATES. And press the third button on the smart timer to

time interval for the first trial. The displacement is figured by subtracting the
distance of the first photo gate to the second photo gate. The cart is launch 5 times
more, with each launch adjusting the position of the photo gate 2 by 10 cm. Then we
compute for the cart s average speed. After the data gathering, we plot a graph with
displacement against time.
Part B: Determination of Acceleration Due to Gravity Using Cart s Acceleration.
We set up the track with the 0 cm end elevated using a stand, with the end stop at
the lower end and record it as final position, Xf. The height, H of the track is

Fluency Disorders In Elementary School
Fluency Disorders

types of learning styles, disabilities, advantages and many other different routines
they aren t used to but eventually adjust. One of the most common disabilities you
see in children in school are fluency disorders, the most common fluency disorder
you will see in school is called stuttering. Stuttering effects the fluency of speech,
meaning the child is unable to complete a sentence, phrase and syllable without
repeating other words or letter sounds.

behaviors include a person pretending to cough or covering their mouth to cover up

they need or want to, rearranging some words in a sentence and using filler sounds
when speaking in order to make their speech sound normal. It is also common for
children who have fluency disorders to develop beliefs that impact on them
negatively in their future lives. For instance, a child may decide that it is difficult to

Capital Gains Tax During The Civil War
Tax began in America during the Civil War when congressed passed the Revenue
Act of 1861. This was a tax on personal incomes to help pay the wages of the
ongoing war. From this time different acts have been included and repealed on capital
gain and taxes. From the past to current, the United States has shown the importance
capital gains tax. This paper will give a brief history of how capital gains taxbegan in
America, where the United State is now, pros and cons for arguments for and against
capital gains tax and how America stacks up to other countries.
Capital gain taxation in America has been around since the Civil war when a tax on
income began and a rise in taxing capital gain started. After many repeals and acts
about taxation, the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment came about which
allows Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or
basing it on the United States Census (gov.) Between 1913 and 1922 taxes on
capital gain ranged from the top rate of 7 percent and 12.5 percent being held at
least two years. (Capital gain tax) Next came the Tax Reform Acts of 1969 and
1976. The Tax Reform Act of 1969 set a 10 percent minimum tax not including
gains, and put a limit on alternative tax up to $ 50,000 of gains. (Capital gain tax)
The next Act of 1976 further increased capital gain taxes by increasing the tax rate
to 15 percent. By 1978 the maximum tax rate reached almost 50 percent, which
caused for Congress to reduce capital gains tax
The Other America By Michael Harrington
The book The Other America , written by Michael Harrington, describes poverty in
America in the 1950s and 1960s, when America became one of the most affluent and
advanced nations in the world. The book was written in 1962, and Harrington states
that there were about 50,000,000 (about 25% of the total population) poor in America
at that time. The author did extensive research with respect to the family income
levels to derive the povertynumbers, and used his own observations and experiences
to write this book. This book addresses the reasons for poverty, the nature of poverty,
the culture of poverty, the blindness of Middle Class America with respect to
poverty, and the responsibility of all Americans in addressing the issue of poverty in
America.
Harrington describes the many factors contributed to about 20 25% of the nation
facing poverty in America in the 1960s. The loss of mining jobs caused most of the
inhabitants of the small towns in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains to lose
their livelihood and become poor. The inner city slums in cities like Chicago and
New York were (still are) home to many African Americans, minorities, and poor
whites that left their hometowns seeking jobs. These areas were high crime prone
areas with rodent infested dilapidated buildings, poor sanitary conditions, inferior
quality schools, and dismal healthcare (poor people got sick more often compared to
middle class). The poor were thought of as underclass by the Middle Class America

During his whole presentation, Trump have shown countless hand gestures while
he is speaking. His hand gestures seem to go with the rhymes of his listings or
when he say things that seem to be important slowly. For example, one of the time
would be him yellowing out a fifty billion dollar, when talking about how the US
would lose a large sum of money if a trade imbalance were to happen. His hand
gesture here moves up and down, making a point that the amount is large and
important. In addition to his hand movements, Trump s head also turn several
times, and his blinking seems to be constant every seconds and endless at times.
When he talks about how he is self funding his blinks seem constant, however when
he talks about the Mexican leaders, his blinks seem endless. This shows that Trump
might be sarcastic or lying when he say he respects the Mexican leaders. When
people say something that they do not believe is true, their actions begin to put more
effort into being normal resulting in irregularity of too much effort. Other than
blinking endlessly at times, there are also times when Trump stops blinking. One of
the times when Trump stop blinking is after he finish talking about Mark

Trump may be able to control his blinking during his sessions since his eyes did not

Clostridium difficile and its Effects on the Body Clostridium difficile, also known
as C. diff, is a bacterium that causes severe symptoms, including inflammation of the
colon, which can be life threatening (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
2015). It is a very common infection that affects hundreds of thousands in the United
States alone. If not caught and treated early, it can be deadly. I kills thousands of

destroyed, Clostridium difficile uses the nutrients to multiply and releases the toxins ,
which attack the lining of the intestines, thus causing colitis (Fordtran, 2006, pp. 3).
While most people on antibiotics are at the greatest risk of developing Clostridium
difficile, there are specific groups of people who also have a chance of being
infected. This includes the older population, people who s immune system is
compromised such as cancer patients, people who have a feeding tube, and people
who have come in contact with infected patients (Fordtran, 2006, pp. 3). Most cases
of Clostridium difficile can be found in a healthcare setting. This includes nursing
homes where the older population resides, hospitals where immune compromised
patients are receiving treatment as well as patients on antibiotic therapy. (Mayo
Clinic Staff, 2017). The bacteria is found in the stool. It is then passed from one
person to another through contaminated surfaces. If a person touches a contaminated
surface, then their contaminated hand touches their mouth or any other mucus
membrane, they are at risk of developing the infection. Clostridium difficile can
survive for long periods of time on these contaminated surfaces which is why
healthcare settings have the highest record because germs spread quickly (Mayo
Clinic Staff, 2017). When in contact with
The Infamous Collection Of Lasting Mental Effects Of

Today, this disorder is classified as post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. According
to the American Psychiatric Association s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of

constant avoidance of trauma associated stimuli, and emotional numbing that was not

Following the Vietnam War, research began to accelerate in response to the influx of
suffering veterans. The Vietnam War helped extend the study of PTSD because it led
to the growing use of media to raise public awareness, the establishment of large scale
psychological studies on Vietnam veterans, and the realization of the importance of
accurate psychiatric diagnoses.
The Vietnam War profoundly affected many Vietnam soldiers after they left the
homeland, and the media had an immense influence on how these individuals were
treated in America. The returning soldiers showed all of the typical symptoms of
what psychiatrists now understand as PTSD: difficulty sleeping, an overly sensitive
reaction to stimuli, and flashbacks. For instance, Sonny Hartwell, a Vietnam
veteran with PTSD, recounted the constant uncertainty he experienced during the
war, War is a strange thing. You spend so much time with nothing to do and the
boredoms of every day existence [sic] in a camp like setting and then all hell
breaks loose. That might last for just a few seconds, but the terror and trauma that
you go through in just that minute to few seconds can be mind boggling (Stein 12).
Hartwell s story was one of many, and yet, early editions of the DSM had very little
information on war neurosis during the 1960s (Stein 11). Veterans were often
considered delusional and even misdiagnosed as LSD addicts,
Key Elements Of Persuasive Communication
Persuasion is described as the deliberate process that intends to change an individual
s attitudes, behaviours or beliefs from their previous initial views and ways of
behaving in society. Persuasive communication is widespread and evident all around
us, including in central areas of politics, marketing and media. Burkholder et al s
(2003) findings support the idea that there are cultural differences evident in the
effectiveness of persuasion, in which they found that shortly after the end of the Iraq
war, surveys indicated that although Americans favoured the use of military action
against Iraq by 2:1, Europeans opposed it by the same margin. There are four key
factors that help influence persuasion amongst the masses, depending on their... Show

The central route to persuasion requires high efforts of processing which occurs
through a complex structure, thus leads to longer lasting effects of persuasion.
However, if an audience is lacking in motivation, in which they are not analytical or
involved with the message they are more likely to take the peripheral route to
persuasion. In this case, peripheral cues are used in which these cues trigger an
acceptance of the messages thus leading to persuasion, which is usually a temporary
effect [Myers et al 2016 p190 191].
Social psychologists have not only studied the effects of persuasion, but also the
elements that contribute to attitude change. Carl Hovland (1953) developed the
Hovland Yale model of persuasion, in which he used a research team from Yale
University. They found that there are a considerable number of factors that can
influence how likely attitude changes are to occur, however they also noticed that
some are more important than others [McGuire et al 1996]. One of the key factors
they found that determines whether persuasion occurs is the communicator. Social
psychologists have found that persuasion can be influenced depending about who is
presenting the argument, which can impact on how an audience receives it. The
credibility of the communicator plays a large role in influencing persuasion, in which
Summary Of The Poem Advice To My Son
The poem Advice to My Son written by Peter Meinke and Mother to Son by
Langston Hughes explores beauties and practicalities of life, they are very short
poems but nonetheless very meaningful and powerful. Both speakers of the poems
are parents who are passing on valuable advice to their children. The speaker in the
poem Mother to Son tells her son some of the battles she s gone threw in life. She s
giving her son the lesson that life isn t always the easiest but to always keep going
forward and to stay positive about life. On the other hand, the poem Advice to my
Son is advising his son to balance the beauties of life and to be careful because it s
not always easy. In the world today, relationships are vital to get by the hardships the
world gives us every day. One of the best relationships people will ever have is the
relations with their parents. They might be unaware of it until they mature, but parent
child relations are always extraordinary. Communication, respect, and safety are very
important for parent child relationships. A parent should always telltheir child to live
life and have fun. In the poem, Advice to My Son, the author states, but, son,
always serves wine. (Meinke 22). In this poem the father tells his son that life is
short, and he should live it day by day, but always plan ahead. The most important
thing he tells his son is to always have fun, no matter what he is doing. Also, a
parent should know when it is time to let their child to soar and be more
independent. On the other hand, the poem Mother to Son states Life for me ain t
been no crystal stair (Hughes 2). She uses the staircase as a metaphor of her life
journeys. As a result, her life hasn t always been polished, gentle, or has it been
effortless. Thus, she is telling her son life for him won t always be ideal or steady.
She states that her life It s had tacks in it, and splinters (Hughes 3 4). She is
representing the rough times in her life, including the misery and heartaches. Tacks
and splinters she shows some of life her troubles that where short and long term pains.
Like the tacks, the pain might have stung for short period, but where quickly healed.

of the sustainability crusade and due to their contrasting approaches towards business
have developed two very distinct sustainability models. This paper will analyze the
sustainability systems implemented by Starbucks and Wal Mart, compare their
strategies, elucidate how these organizations have created different corporate social
responsibility systems, and finally determine which one of these approaches would
better support a long term sustainability model.
Analysis
Starbucks and Wal Mart are leaders in their respective industries. Their business
models are different and these differences are in part responsible for their contrasting
approaches towards sustainability. One of the best methods to understand the
divergent approaches to sustainability and the triple bottom line adopted by Starbucks
and Wal Mart is by analyzing and comparing the differences in their mission
statements, values, core competencies, and corporate social responsibility systems.

Hamlet Asymmetrical Warfare Essay
Shakespeare in Hamlet wrote, by indirection finds direction out. Although used in
a different, the quote directly relates to the principle of asymmetric warfare.
Andrew J. Mack first used a name for this tactic of war in his 1975 book, Why Big
Nations Lose Small Wars. Asymmetric simply means that two sides are not the
same. This type of warfare can be used between groups of people or countries. Just
like any war, the motivation can be economic, religious, or political. Asymmetrical
warfare is usually exemplified in long, drawn out wars, rather than short battles. More
small groups are turning to this idea, making the world more uncertain, unstable, and
difficult to anticipate. (Grange)
Conventional wars, such as the Iran Iraq ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Asymmetrical warfare is an umbrella term that describes the same type of manners.
The modern pirates of Malaysia, Nigeria, and Somalia use asymmetrical warfare
tactics to carry out their robberies. Admiral Arun Prakash also sees the similarities
between land terrorist that demonstrate this type of warfare and the rise of piracy in
the twenty first century. He claims as things get hotter for the terrorists on land...its
quite logical that they will move seaward. Terrorismis defined as premeditated,
politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombat targets by subnational
groups or clandestine agents, according to the United States (Winn and Govern). The
difference right now between terrorists on land and on the sea is the amount of media
recognition the land terrorists receive compared to the pirates. The public is simply
unaware of the maritime side of this issue. Pirates demonstrate terrorism when the
crews of innocent ships are killed so that the pirates will not be caught and tried. The
United States Transportation Security Administration even realizes piracy is upon us
because of their belief that the September 11th attacks could just as easily be done
through maritime means, rather than in air if a bomb pulls into a major harbor.
Although pirates and terrorists have separate motives, both demonstrate asymmetrical
warfare and must be

Vince Lombardi s Super Bowl
Vince Lombardi, the iconic coach of the Green Bay Packers, is widely regarded as
one of the greatest football leaders of all time. While his winning record may be
attributed to many factors, most credit him with the ability to motivate an entire
group of individual players to accomplish remarkable achievements when united as
a team. Coach Lombardi insisted that, Individual commitment to a group effort that
s what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
While it is highly improbable that most kids will ever experience the thrill of
winning a Super Bowl, the positive effects of engaging in a team sport offer lifelong
benefits which include converting losses into gains, developing self discipline, and
fostering strong relationships.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideally, the celebrations of hard fought victories will outnumber the agonizing losses
in large quantities. However, the lessons learned from devastating defeats are often
the most important tool in the quest for success. As Bobby Jones suggested, losses,
by their very nature, offer the most compelling evidence that modifications and
improvements are warranted. In other words, a loss encourages the athlete to channel
the disappointment into a positive progression of steps, thus instigating a more
favorable outcome in the future. The fact is that in both life and sports, defeat is
inevitable, and the skill to use the lessons learned in a loss to initiate the groundwork
for future success is a winning
Consequences Race And Religion Have On Social Injustice
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of
justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate
concern of dedicated individuals. Martin Luther King, Jr.
My essay judiciously analyses the consequences race and religion have on social
injustice within a society. The consequences of social injustice are the resultants of
the unfair practices carried out within society, and have a large bearing on all those
who are within that certain society. The 4 texts that I studied were: Merchant of
Venice by William Shakespeare, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, A Time to
Kill by Joel Schumacher, and Munich by Steven Spielberg. I feel that these 4 texts
had enough sufficient evidence of subjective justice to allow me to understand the ...

These views within this society are the views of ethics and not those of morality,
where morals are standards of behavior founded in beliefs (including religious
beliefs), where something is either good or evil. Whereas ethics are standards of
behavior founded upon a learned conduct, where something is either right or
wrong (according to law). The consequence of this social injustice is the rebel and

Robinson s in To Kill A Mockingbird, where Tom is wronged by not only the racial
inequality but also by the conflicting morals and ethics shown by the society within
Maycomb. Tom, a humble black man, is wrongfully convicted and charged with the
rape of Mayella Ewell, the skittish young daughter of Bob Ewell. With supporting
evidence as to how he is not guilty, Tom has been wronged by the ethical nature of
Maycomb and the views the society sees as acceptable, even though this may be the

  • 1. Technical Education Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of technical education can be both a challenging and rewarding endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the need for a comprehensive understanding of technical education but also in the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. Technical education encompasses a wide range of subjects, from engineering and computer science to vocational training and industrial skills. Navigating through this diverse landscape requires thorough research to grasp the intricacies of each field. This involves delving into the history, evolution, and current trends in technical education, as well as understanding its impact on individuals, industries, and society. Furthermore, the challenge extends to presenting the information coherently and persuasively. Balancing technical details with accessible language is crucial to ensure that the essay resonates with both experts in the field and general readers. Additionally, organizing the content in a logical and structured manner is essential to convey a seamless flow of ideas. The task is not merely about regurgitating facts but also about critically analyzing the role of technical education in addressing societal needs and challenges. This requires the writer to form well-supported arguments and draw connections between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. The difficulty is further heightened by the need for originality and creativity. With a topic as broad as technical education, the risk of producing a generic essay that fails to stand out is ever- present. Writers must strive to bring a unique perspective or present well-known information in a fresh and engaging light. In conclusion, tackling an essay on technical education demands a combination of research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. While it may be challenging, the process offers an opportunity to delve deep into a topic that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future. As with any challenging task, the satisfaction of producing a well-crafted essay is the ultimate reward. • 2. Scope of Managerial Economics Q1. Yes. Firms represent a combination of people, physical assets, and information (financial, technical, marketing, and so on). People directly involved include stockholders, managers, workers, suppliers, and customers. Businesses use scarce resources that would otherwise be available for other purposes, pay income and other taxes, provide employment opportunities, and are responsible for much of the material well being of our society. Buffett, the billionaire head of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., also looks for companies that have strong franchises and enjoy pricing flexibility, high ROE, high cash flow, owner oriented management, and predictable earnings that are not natural targets of regulation. Like Price, Buffett has profited enormously through his investments. To apply Price s and Buffett s investment criteria successfully, business managers and investors must be sensitive to fundamental economic and demographic trends. Perhaps the most obvious of these is the aging of the population. Health care demands will continue to soar. VVC usually associated with considerable morbidity; symptoms include intense pruritus, vaginal discharge and dyspareunia. Many factors have been identified to predispose to such condition such as oral contraceptive pills, pregnancy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and long term broad spectrum antibiotic (Cassone, 2015, Falagas et al., 2006). Beyond the normal host, the range of patients at risk for invasive candidiasisexpand to patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, those immunosuppressed due to cancer therapy and organ transplantation (Bassyouni et al., 2015a). Recurrent VVC (RVVC) is a more serious condition due to recurrences of symptoms ( 4/year) and refraction to successful treatment. Long term fluconazole therapy may help in delaying the recurrences but does not result in a long lasting cure (Sobel et al., 2004). Maintenance and preventive therapy is essential for six months but, patients may need to stay on medication for a longer period (Ringdahl, 2000). Recent epidemiological studies founded the prevalence of RVVC higher than that reported previously as the recurrence rate about 7 8% of women who experience a first episode and the discomfort associated with RVVC is intense which markedly affects the quality of life of young women with a strong negative impact on work and social life (Cassone, 2015). Summary Of Kenneth Slessor s North Country Through the immersion of one in a variety of physical environments, the manipulation of genre, form and perspective presents a polysemic representation of a diverse range of landscapes, in turn allowing responders to develop complex understandings into the human psyche. Specifically, through the interwoven utilization of complex allusions and personalized outlooks Alain De Bottons The Art Of Travel shapes humanities greater knowledge of traveling s impact on the human behavior and perception. Likewise, this notion is extended amongst Kenneth Slessor s minimalistic, poetic piece North Country in which the composer highlights man s dichotomous relationship with the physical world, and how ongoing, differentiated experiences cultivate interpersonal growth and develop individualized standpoints towards the wider globe. Consequently, both texts elicit portrayals of innumerable landscapes, which foreground the intricacies of civilization through the construction of a piece that reveals the subjectivity of our human mentalities today. Recollecting empowers the individual to delve deeper into meaningful encounters that assist in developing identity whether it be from a reminisced, imaginative or realistic. Illustrating this analogy is Botton s AOT through its alteration of the basic novel structure to fully capture landscapes as the product of personal perception, all whilst challenging the reader to reconsider the true sense of these places and their everlasting impact on

A few decades ago, warfare was generally thought of only in terms of physical fighting; however, today s technological society has introduced a new arena of defense and attacks. Essay on Happiness and Drought It is interesting to think about why our ancestors decided to include the pursuit of happiness as an American s unalienable right, as opposed to the previously considered, right to land. To live a life without happiness, it seemed to them, is to live a life without meaning. Edgar Lee Masters poems commonly reflect on the quality, or lack thereof, of happiness in the afterlife of dead countrymen (and women). The diction, word choice and imagery in Fiddler Jones by Masters expresses the seemingly inherent joy of a lackadaisical man as well as the value of perspectives and the ability to posit happiness over fortune and land. Although the poem begins by talking generally about the fundamental process of life, lines 3 and 4 bring an individual to the stage in which the poem is set forth. This is done by introducing the art of fiddle playing and the skill that such a feat requires. A skill is a tenet that sets apart an individual from a general crowd. It is something that one may seek pleasure from and it is here that the speaker of the poem creates this separation the individual. And if the people find you can fiddle, Why, fiddle you must, for all your life. (ll. 3 4) At this point we are being advised by the speaker that if we have a skill we must use it for the rest of our lives. But it also says that if people find you can fiddle, which suggests a communal aspect. This skill that sets one apart also makes them a part of a community that cherishes the skill which one has acquired. This further contributes to the meaning on the poem because this is the point in which we are given insight into the speaker s philosophy. This belief being that if one is good at something it should fully encompass their being for the duration of one s life, thus rendering it a passion that becomes as a part of living as breathing itself. This leads into the next lines where we are now required to consider value as a component in distinguishing divergent perspectives. The point in which perspectives diverge happens in lines 4 and 5, where Master s imagery is employed to depict the scene of a

Failure Is Always And Option Failure is Always and Option Shenshuai Chen ENGR: 2110: Engineering Fundamentals 1: Statics Introduction Engineers ought to maintain commendable design and implementation standards in the development of any project. In fact, doing the contrary jeopardizes the welfare of the people utilizing the materials created. As such, the knowledge on static concepts needs to be prioritized in the development and implementation of engineering projects to minimize the possibilities of failure due to poor planning. In 1978, the Hartford Civic Center coliseum collapse raised concerns on the need for proper error identification in the engineering process. This tragedy occurred when the roof collapsed after a heavy snowfall in the region. During the event, no casualties were experienced since no one was at the stadium in the time of the catastrophe (Martin Delatte, 2001). Nonetheless, the lack of casualties does not alleviate the errors made by the engineers in the design process. Additionally, the failure of this structure sparks numerous controversies on the ethical responsibilities of engineers in the design and maintenance of structures. For a fact, the collapse of the Hartford Civic Center has many ethical implications and it was a design and management blunder by the engineers tasked with this responsibility. • 20. The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And Cressida From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can understand a lot about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in literature, and it is called characterization. Characterization is the method in which the author reveals the attributes of characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to further their characterizations. This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks fought the Trojans over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects of the war as well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army, encourages the Greek army by motivating them to persevere through the long lasting war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test them, and Troy will eventually crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the Greek leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason for the failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits Agamemnon s imperfect character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric, which also relates to their roles in the Greek army. Throughout his speech, Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point, and the repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of his address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your cheeks? (1.3.2), asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies to this by stating that all people have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to obstacles and setbacks, and that they should continue to be persistent. He uses the imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the growth of the Greek army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues, he presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks abashed behold our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially the identical as the opening question. It also has the same word choice of cheeks, and

Both stories involve one man being spoken to be their respective god to build a boat to prepare for the flood (Genesis 11) (Gilgamesh 108). Neuromancer And The Matrix Analysis William Gibson s Neuromancer, and The Matrix by The Wachowskis both depict a society in which humans are under constant manipulation by indispensable machines. In Neuromancer, the protagonist Case is indirectly manipulated by a powerful Artificial Intelligence named Wintermute. In The Matrix, majority of the human population lives within a computer simulated world, run by machines. However, both storylines depict the fact that manipulation is more abundant than is often seen, as both protagonists are more frequently under the influence of other humans. Neuromancer and The Matrixboth demonstrate the nature of manipulation, and explore the fact that individuals are oblivious to the manipulation that they face. Manipulation is ubiquitous. Throughout the movie, the Matrix is presented to the audience as the as the only source of manipulation, What is the Matrix? Control (The Matrix). The perspective shown to the audience implies that the robots are the only manipulative force present within this society. Morpheus introduces Neo to the concept of the Matrix, by saying You are a slave, Neo (The Matrix) and further explaining it as A prison for your mind (The Matrix). However, even once Neo has been freed from the matrix, he remains susceptible. Neo is constantly being manipulated by both the Oracle and Morpheus. Capital gain taxation in America has been around since the Civil war when a tax on income began and a rise in taxing capital gain started. After many repeals and acts about taxation, the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment came about which allows Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on the United States Census (gov.) Between 1913 and 1922 taxes on capital gain ranged from the top rate of 7 percent and 12.5 percent being held at least two years. (Capital gain tax) Next came the Tax Reform Acts of 1969 and 1976. The Tax Reform Act of 1969 set a 10 percent minimum tax not including gains, and put a limit on alternative tax up to $ 50,000 of gains. (Capital gain tax) The next Act of 1976 further increased capital gain taxes by increasing the tax rate to 15 percent. By 1978 the maximum tax rate reached almost 50 percent, which caused for Congress to reduce capital gains tax

The book was written in 1962, and Harrington states that there were about 50,000,000 (about 25% of the total population) poor in America at that time. The author did extensive research with respect to the family income levels to derive the povertynumbers, and used his own observations and experiences to write this book. This book addresses the reasons for poverty, the nature of poverty, the culture of poverty, the blindness of Middle Class America with respect to poverty, and the responsibility of all Americans in addressing the issue of poverty in America. Harrington describes the many factors contributed to about 20 25% of the nation facing poverty in America in the 1960s. The loss of mining jobs caused most of the inhabitants of the small towns in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains to lose their livelihood and become poor. The inner city slums in cities like Chicago and New York were (still are) home to many African Americans, minorities, and poor whites that left their hometowns seeking jobs. These areas were high crime prone areas with rodent infested dilapidated buildings, poor sanitary conditions, inferior quality schools, and dismal healthcare (poor people got sick more often compared to middle class). The poor were thought of as underclass by the Middle Class America

The Vietnam War helped extend the study of PTSD because it led to the growing use of media to raise public awareness, the establishment of large scale psychological studies on Vietnam veterans, and the realization of the importance of accurate psychiatric diagnoses. The Vietnam War profoundly affected many Vietnam soldiers after they left the homeland, and the media had an immense influence on how these individuals were treated in America. The returning soldiers showed all of the typical symptoms of what psychiatrists now understand as PTSD: difficulty sleeping, an overly sensitive reaction to stimuli, and flashbacks. For instance, Sonny Hartwell, a Vietnam veteran with PTSD, recounted the constant uncertainty he experienced during the war, War is a strange thing. Key Elements Of Persuasive Communication Persuasion is described as the deliberate process that intends to change an individual s attitudes, behaviours or beliefs from their previous initial views and ways of behaving in society. Persuasive communication is widespread and evident all around us, including in central areas of politics, marketing and media. Burkholder et al s (2003) findings support the idea that there are cultural differences evident in the effectiveness of persuasion, in which they found that shortly after the end of the Iraq war, surveys indicated that although Americans favoured the use of military action against Iraq by 2:1, Europeans opposed it by the same margin. The central route to persuasion requires high efforts of processing which occurs through a complex structure, thus leads to longer lasting effects of persuasion. However, if an audience is lacking in motivation, in which they are not analytical or involved with the message they are more likely to take the peripheral route to persuasion. In this case, peripheral cues are used in which these cues trigger an acceptance of the messages thus leading to persuasion, which is usually a temporary effect [Myers et al 2016 p190 191]. Social psychologists have not only studied the effects of persuasion, but also the elements that contribute to attitude change. Carl Hovland (1953) developed the Hovland Yale model of persuasion, in which he used a research team from Yale University. They found that there are a considerable number of factors that can influence how likely attitude changes are to occur, however they also noticed that some are more important than others [McGuire et al 1996]. One of the key factors they found that determines whether persuasion occurs is the communicator. Social psychologists have found that persuasion can be influenced depending about who is presenting the argument, which can impact on how an audience receives it. The credibility of the communicator plays a large role in influencing persuasion, in which

In this poem the father tells his son that life is short, and he should live it day by day, but always plan ahead. The most important thing he tells his son is to always have fun, no matter what he is doing. Also, a parent should know when it is time to let their child to soar and be more independent.
