This document summarizes a case study of solid waste management in Mandvi, India. It discusses the current practice of open dumping of waste near Sitla Temple, which generates problems like land, air, and water pollution. The population of Mandvi is around 52,000 people who generate approximately 350 metric tons of solid waste daily. To address these issues, the study suggests implementing a secured landfilling method. This modern landfilling approach would help control leachate and protect groundwater, while also allowing waste byproducts to be utilized as fertilizer or for generating cooking gas. The goal is to provide a safe, healthy, and secure environment for the people of Mandvi.
