Advancement in information system leads organizations to apply e-learning system to train their employees in order to enhance its performance. In this respect, applying web based training will enable the organization to train their employees quickly, efficiently and effectively anywhere at any time. This research aims to extend Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT) using some factors such flexibility of web based training system, system interactivity and system enjoyment, in order to explain the employees’ intention to use web based training system. A total of 290 employees have participated in this study. The findings of the study revealed that performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, social influence and system flexibility have direct effect on the employees’ intention to use web based training system, while effort expectancy, system enjoyment and system interactivity have indirect effect on employees’ intention to use the system.

Objective: This study aimed to find a solution to the acceptance of smart buildings in Iran using the technology acceptance model (TAM). The main research question is the significance of this model relationships, as well as the anticipated adoption of smart buildings in Iran using variables included in the model. Methods: This descriptive study, is based on survey data collection methods and the way of analyzing data is correlational and casual study. Measurement tool was designed based on the standardized questionnaire presented by Davis. The reliability coefficient was 0.88. Statistical population is unlimited and included citizens of Iran in 1395. The sample consisted of 388 individuals. Given the infinity of society and Cochran formula, 384 individual is sufficient for this research. This study is a random sampling one that was done in the period of 30 days. Findings and conclusions: The results revealed that all relationships in the model are significant. And among the variables of the model, perceived usefulness, the attitude toward using, and features of smart buildings had the most intense relationship in acceptance this technology. Using regression equations, each of the dependent variables in the model, is predictable by the independent variables. Innovation of research: The intensity of relationship between variables in technology acceptance model and impact of each variable in explaining the criterion factor was analyzed. Research limitations: Many people tend not to complete the questionnaire and some ones answer questions unrealistic. Despite all the explanations to justify the respondents, still there are possible directions in responses. Practical consequences: Using regression equations obtained in this study, we can predict the criterion variables in the model of technology adoption.

Research on the field of using social media has gained more importance in the recent days due to the rapid development of social media technologies. Looking at the behavioral intention and attitude of using social media for collaborative learning within Malaysian higher educational institutions and the influencing factors in this regard has received little attention by researchers. The study aims at examining the determinants that affect learners’ attitude and behavior intention regarding their use social media to achieve collaborative learning. Such examination is carried out by using the Theory Acceptance Model (TAM) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT). A total of 243 participants were recruited for this study. The findings indicated that students’ attitudes and behavior are strong indicators of their intentions in terms of using social media in collaborative learning.

The aim of this paper was to present factors which influence work-related adoption of social media among government employees. The study adapted the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and integrated it with three constructs namely Hedonic Motivation (HM), Perceived Personal Image (PI) and Attitude (AT). The sample of study consisted of 600 usable responses collected using survey questionnaire from employees based in Tanzania Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) employing convenience sampling technique. The data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling. The results showed that, PI and HM influence attitude (AT), while PI, Social Influence (SI) and AT influence Behavior Intention (BI). Moreover, SI, PI, AT and BI showed significant effect on actual Use Behavior. Furthermore, the results showed that PI is affected positively by HM and SI. The added constructs proved to be important modifications to the UTAUT model as suggested by the increase in explained variance by UTAUT from 70% to 73% on BI and from 53% to 73% on actual use behavior.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore the factors that influence health-related consumer’s acceptance to use the mobile technology as a tool for receiving healthcare services. Based on technology acceptance model (TAM), this paper provides a better understanding of antecedent of key acceptance constructs (e.g. intention to use, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use). The proposed research model and hypotheses validated and tested with data collected from 302 Egyptians and Yemenis patients, health professionals, and general health users. The results are analyzed using a number of statistical techniques including partial least squares. The key findings obtaining from the results of the three surveyed stakeholders reveal that: (1) ninety percent are indented to use mobile health services. (2) While intention to use has greatly influenced by perceived usefulness, the impact of perceived ease of use varies. (3) Perceived value, perceived ease of use and portability factors are significantly affect perceived usefulness. (4) Self-efficacy and technology anxiety have a great impact on perceived ease of use. (5) The impact of the rest of the suggested factors ranged from medium, low, and insignificant. The research made an in-depth exploration and examination of the factors that influence user’s intention to use mobile health services focusing on technological, cultural, organizational, political, and social aspects whereas most of the previous studies considered only one or two aspects together. The proposed model can be applied to assess mobile health user’s acceptance, thereby help mobile health developers and providers to develop better mobile health applications that meet the needs of the potential users. There is growing interest in the rate of eHealth uptake resulting from the increased potential to advance the quality of healthcare services in both the developed and developing countries. Although the implementation of information and communication technology to support healthcare delivery would greatly address the quality and accessibility challenges in healthcare as well as reduction in the cost of healthcare delivery, the adoption of eHealth has not been fully realized. This study aimed at conducting a systematic literature review to establish the factors associated with the adoption of eHealth and propose a context-specific framework for successful adoption of eHealth technologies in developing countries such as Uganda. The systematic literature review process was guided by the Systematic Review Protocol. The review of 29 journals from the period 2009-2021 showed that, although the most widely used frameworks in the developing countries were Technology Adoption Model (TAM), Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework and Technology Organization Environment (TOE) framework, there were other salient factors reported by other researchers that contributed to the adoption of eHealth in developing countries. A novel framework for adoption of eHealth in the local context with eight (8) dimensions namely; Sociodemographic, Technology, Information, Socio-cultural, Organization, Governance, Ethical and legal and Financial dimensions is derived and presented as result of the research.

This paper extends the use of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses. A canonical action research method is used to study social media adoption in microbusiness, and a post positivist approach is used to report the results based on a predetermined premise. It is found that the major constructs of performance and effort expectancy played an insignificant role, and social influence and facilitating conditions did not influence the behavioral and adoption intentions of social media by microbusiness owners. Owner characteristics and codification effort dominated the use behavior. The goal of microbusiness owners in gaining additional customers leads to behavioral modification resulting in replacing of behavioral intention with goals as a superior method of predicting adoption behavior within the context of microbusinesses.

Literature review confirms the explaining power of UTAUT in variety of technology adoption by businesses. This paper uses UTAUT theory to implement social media technology in microbusinesses. This study explores the online users’ behavioral intention to utilize the governments’ websites and their electronic services. The research methodology validates the measuring items from the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to better understand the participants’ attitudes toward their performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social norms, facilitating condition and behavioral intention to use the electronic government (e-gov) services. The findings from the structural equations modeling approach reported a satisfactory fit for this study’s research model. The results suggest that there were highly significant, direct effects from the UTAUT constructs, where the utilitarian motives predicted the online users’ behavioral intentions to use e-gov. Moreover, there were significant moderating influences from the demographic variables, including age, gender and experiences that effected the individuals’ usage of the governments’ online services. In conclusion, this contribution identifies its limitations and suggests possible research avenues to academia.

Personal Cloud Computing (PCC) is a rapidly growing technology, addressing the market demand of individual users for access to available and reliable resources. But like other new technologies, concerns and issues have surfaced with the adoption of PCC. Users deciding whether to adopt PCC may be concerned about the ease of use, usefulness, or security risks in the cloud. Negative attitudes toward using a technology have been found to negatively impact the success of that technology. The purpose of this study was to understand users’ acceptance of PCC. The population sample consisted of individual users within the United States between 18 and 80 years of age. The theoretical framework utilized in this study was based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). A web survey was conducted to assess the measurement and understanding of patterns demonstrated by participants. Our results shows that in spite of the potential benefits of PCC, security and privacy risks are deterring many users from moving towards PCC.

In this paper, we investigated the knowledge management (KM) behavior of executives in Malaysia who work in different sectors and involved in Information Technology (IT) related fields. We proposed a conceptual framework based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to study their intention and involvement in KM initiatives. The knowledge creation theory (SECI process) was employed to operationalize KM intention and KM behavior. We proposed six independent variables that represent the social-cultural nature of KM as the antecedence of KM intention. These variables are trust, management support, decentralization, IT support, performance expectancy (PE), and effort expectancy (EE). Seventy-four executives from both private and government-linked organizations responded to our online questionnaire. SmartPLS3 was used to run the analysis. The reliability was ensured with the factor loadings, Cronbach’s alpha, Composite Reliability (CR) that met the fit requirement of above 0.6, 0.7 and 0.7 respectively. The convergent validity was confirmed through average variance extracted (AVE) that met the fit requirement of above 0.5. The discriminant validity was assessed by using Fornell and Larcker’s criterion. Finally, the structural model confirmed that only PE of KM, and EE of KM are the significant predictors of KM intention and the KM intention significantly predicts KM behavior. The implications of the findings are discussed in detail at the end of the paper.

M-PESA, the world-leading mobile money system has transformed lives and livelihoods in Kenya and beyond. Financial inclusion for the marginalized in emerging markets is now feasible and achievable. Mobile money promises a more scalable and cheaper alternative to the large unbanked populace than conventional banking. In the recent years, Sub-Saharan Africa has rolled out a number of practical technology-driven innovative products leading to more and more cashless transactions. One such product is MPESA; a mobile-based financial innovation that has achieved unprecedented growth since its inception in March 2007 by the mobile network operator, Safaricom. In spite of its tantalizing potential, one major challenge is how to optimally capture the market. This paper analyses the M-PESA ecosystem, by building theoretical linkages between two main theories; i) Innovation Diffusion Theory and ii) Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. This study aims to develop a model for the user acceptance for implementing the information security standard (i.e. ISO 27001) in Turkish public organizations. The results of the surveys performed in Turkey reveal that the legislation on information security public which organizations have to obey is significantly related with the user acceptance during ISO 27001 implementation process. The rate of computer and internet usage has been increasing rapidly around the world. In parallel with the technologic developments in computer science, transformation from traditional services to online services has gained speed. The aim of this study is to predict the factors that affect e-government service usage. A research model is developed to achieve this aim. The proposed model bases on Technology Acceptance Model and Theory of Planned Behaviour. A questionnaire is developed to evaluate the model. This questionnaire composes of two parts: demographics part and item part. In the items part, 32 items comprising the factors of the proposed model are asked to participants. 100 participants fill the questionnaire. Reliability analysis of the questionnaire is evaluated with internal consistency reliability method. Results show that all items satisfies the reliability conditions. The reliability of whole questionnaire Cronbach Alpha is 0.885. The Cronbach’s alpha for the overall scale of each of the factors ranges from 0.878 to 0.890. Regression analysis results showed that all hypotheses are supported. This study provides some valuable references to understand citizens’ acceptance level of e-government services.

CITIZENS’ ACCEPTANCE OF E-GOVERNMENT SERVICES

E-government provides opportunities to deliver various services more effectively and better serve citizens. In developing countries, e-government initiatives provide services that have been previously inaccessible to their citizens. However, e-government initiatives in developing countries are still in their infancy and face a wide range of barriers that restrict wide-spread use. Like many other developing countries, Pakistan has a low level of e-government services adoption. Previous research has investigated e-government services in developing countries from the organizational perspective. However, the research stream suffers from an absence of studies that have investigated e-government from a citizen’s perspective. The success of e-government services depends on government support as well as on citizen’s adoption. This paper aims to fill this gap by exploring the challenges and barriers of e-government services from the user’s perspective. In this study, an amended version of the UTAUT model is used to investigate the factors influencing the uptake of e-government services in Pakistan. The results show that the factors influencing the adoption of e-government services in Pakistan are related to ease of use, usefulness, social influence, technological issues, lack of awareness, data privacy, and trust. Implications for e-businesses and government policy decision makers are also considered in this study.

ABSTRACT: This is a review of theoretical models most recently used in Information Technology adoption research. A literature review approach has been adopted. More than 25 literatures were reviewed in the area of information adoption covering the last 30 years. We identified the strengths and weaknesses of each of the theory used. It is found that Technology Acceptance Model is by far the most used to underpin research work in this area follow by Theory of planned behaviour.

Cucumber is grown, as a cash crop besides it is one of the main and popular vegetables in Bangladesh. As Bangladesh's economy is largely dependent on the agricultural sector, cucumber farming could make economic and productivity growth more sustainable. But many diseases diminish the situation of cucumber. Early detection of disease can help to stop disease from spreading to other healthy plants and also accurate identifying the disease will help to reduce crop losses through specific treatments. In this paper, we have presented two approaches namely traditional machine learning (ML) and CNN-based transfer learning. Then we have compared the performance of the applied techniques to find out the most appropriate techniques for recognizing cucumber diseases. In our ML approach, the system involves five steps. After collecting the image, pre-processing is done by resizing, filtering, and contrast-enhancing. Then we have compared various ML algorithms using k-means based image segmentation after extracted 10 relevant features. Random forest gives the best accuracy with 89.93% in the traditional ML approach. We also studied and applied CNN-based transfer learning to investigate the further improvement of recognition performance. Lastly, a comparison among various transfer learning models such as InceptionV3, MobileNetV2, and VGG16 has been performed. Between these two approaches, MobileNetV2 achieves the highest accuracy with 93.23%.

In this case study we identify the factors that influence the adoption of a new system in a major company in Saudi Arabia. We develop a theoretical framework to help derive better understanding of system adoption via socio-technical integration. We formulation of 14 hypotheses that were tested via a survey of 42 system users. Management support and change management were found to be significant factors influencing system adoption. As a result, the 14 null hypotheses were rejected due to their statistical significance (p-value < 0.05). Discussions and recommendations for future research are discussed.

Over time, people needs are increasing. Needs that must be met, often cause problems in the people in determining a choice. People must make the right choice and according to their needs. Not an easy thing for people to make these choices. Therefore, a recommendation system is needed to support people in making decisions that fit their criteria. This research provides a system that can provide recommendations for decision support people according to their criteria, which are web-based. The decision-making system in this research uses the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method. AHP is a multi-criteria decision-making method, which in this research one of the criteria is using sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis is the process of understanding, extracting, and processing textual data to get sentiment information from an opinion sentence. The opinion sentiment value of each alternative will be included in the AHP calculation to get the best alternative recommendations according to the criteria of people. The result of this research is that the system can provide recommendations to people or users according to their criteria and alternatives as well as public opinion about each alternative.

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) during the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and the government’s call for large-scale social restrictions have led to the emergence of online learning systems (OLS) in higher education. This study develops a measurement model for the success of OLS based on the DeLone & McLean model. Surveys were conducted on a sample of 175 students from domestic and international universities. Data processing used the partial least squares structural equation modeling or PLS-SEM method, and root cause analysis. The results show that platform quality has a positive influence on OLS success, whether mediated by user satisfaction or OLS usage. Social influence has a positive effect on OLS success, mediated by OLS usage. User computer anxiety has a negative effect on OLS success, mediated by user satisfaction. Recommendations to improve OLS success include adjusting internet package rates to make them more affordable, improving signal strength to various locations for better coverage, limiting the number of users in one learning session for more effective OLS, and the need for organizational support in using the right applications.

Today's academic environment, many students use technology as an integral aspect of their studies; as a result, higher education (HE) institutions have been compelled to design student information systems (SIS) that can facilitate students' online learning processes. However, SIS must be aligned with user needs and should provide a pleasant user experience (UX) that enables students to attain their goals. The current research looked at how students rated an SIS. The study was based on the responses of 307 students at Kuwait's College of Business Studies (CBS) provided within a questionnaire. The survey's findings revealed that students had a generally favourable impression of the SIS, with perceptions of the pragmatic quality of the system being somewhat higher than the perceptions of hedonic quality. The findings of this research may be valuable to authorities working to design improved SIS, particularly in terms of the hedonic system components.

This paper extends the use of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain social media adoption by microbusinesses. A canonical action research method is used to study social media adoption in microbusiness, and a post positivist approach is used to report the results based on a predetermined premise. It is found that the major constructs of performance and effort expectancy played an insignificant role, and social influence and facilitating conditions did not influence the behavioral and adoption intentions of social media by microbusiness owners. Owner characteristics and codification effort dominated the use behavior. The goal of microbusiness owners in gaining additional customers leads to behavioral modification resulting in replacing of behavioral intention with goals as a superior method of predicting adoption behavior within the context of microbusinesses.

This study explores the online users’ behavioral intention to utilize the governments’ websites and their electronic services. The research methodology validates the measuring items from the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to better understand the participants’ attitudes toward their performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social norms, facilitating condition and behavioral intention to use the electronic government (e-gov) services. The findings from the structural equations modeling approach reported a satisfactory fit for this study’s research model. The results suggest that there were highly significant, direct effects from the UTAUT constructs, where the utilitarian motives predicted the online users’ behavioral intentions to use e-gov. Moreover, there were significant moderating influences from the demographic variables, including age, gender and experiences that effected the individuals’ usage of the governments’ online services. In conclusion, this contribution identifies its limitations and suggests possible research avenues to academia.

Personal Cloud Computing (PCC) is a rapidly growing technology, addressing the market demand of individual users for access to available and reliable resources. But like other new technologies, concerns and issues have surfaced with the adoption of PCC. Users deciding whether to adopt PCC may be concerned about the ease of use, usefulness, or security risks in the cloud. Negative attitudes toward using a technology have been found to negatively impact the success of that technology. The purpose of this study was to understand users’ acceptance of PCC. The population sample consisted of individual users within the United States between 18 and 80 years of age. The theoretical framework utilized in this study was based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). A web survey was conducted to assess the measurement and understanding of patterns demonstrated by participants. Our results shows that in spite of the potential benefits of PCC, security and privacy risks are deterring many users from moving towards PCC.

In this paper, we investigated the knowledge management (KM) behavior of executives in Malaysia who work in different sectors and involved in Information Technology (IT) related fields. We proposed a conceptual framework based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to study their intention and involvement in KM initiatives. The knowledge creation theory (SECI process) was employed to operationalize KM intention and KM behavior. We proposed six independent variables that represent the social-cultural nature of KM as the antecedence of KM intention. These variables are trust, management support, decentralization, IT support, performance expectancy (PE), and effort expectancy (EE). Seventy-four executives from both private and government-linked organizations responded to our online questionnaire. SmartPLS3 was used to run the analysis. The reliability was ensured with the factor loadings, Cronbach’s alpha, Composite Reliability (CR) that met the fit requirement of above 0.6, 0.7 and 0.7 respectively. The convergent validity was confirmed through average variance extracted (AVE) that met the fit requirement of above 0.5. The discriminant validity was assessed by using Fornell and Larcker’s criterion. Finally, the structural model confirmed that only PE of KM, and EE of KM are the significant predictors of KM intention and the KM intention significantly predicts KM behavior. The implications of the findings are discussed in detail at the end of the paper.

M-PESA, the world-leading mobile money system has transformed lives and livelihoods in Kenya and beyond. Financial inclusion for the marginalized in emerging markets is now feasible and achievable. Mobile money promises a more scalable and cheaper alternative to the large unbanked populace than conventional banking. In the recent years, Sub-Saharan Africa has rolled out a number of practical technology-driven innovative products leading to more and more cashless transactions. One such product is MPESA; a mobile-based financial innovation that has achieved unprecedented growth since its inception in March 2007 by the mobile network operator, Safaricom. In spite of its tantalizing potential, one major challenge is how to optimally capture the market. This paper analyses the M-PESA ecosystem, by building theoretical linkages between two main theories; i) Innovation Diffusion Theory and ii) Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. This study aims to develop a model for the user acceptance for implementing the information security standard (i.e. ISO 27001) in Turkish public organizations. The results of the surveys performed in Turkey reveal that the legislation on information security public which organizations have to obey is significantly related with the user acceptance during ISO 27001 implementation process. The fundamental components of our user acceptance model are perceived usefulness, attitude towards use, social norms, and performance expectancy.

The rate of computer and internet usage has been increasing rapidly around the world. In parallel with the technologic developments in computer science, transformation from traditional services to online services has gained speed. The aim of this study is to predict the factors that affect e-government service usage. A research model is developed to achieve this aim. The proposed model bases on Technology Acceptance Model and Theory of Planned Behaviour. A questionnaire is developed to evaluate the model. This questionnaire composes of two parts: demographics part and item part. In the items part, 32 items comprising the factors of the proposed model are asked to participants. 100 participants fill the questionnaire. Reliability analysis of the questionnaire is evaluated with internal consistency reliability method. Results show that all items satisfies the reliability conditions. The reliability of whole questionnaire Cronbach Alpha is 0.885. The Cronbach’s alpha for the overall scale of each of the factors ranges from 0.878 to 0.890. Regression analysis results showed that all hypotheses are supported. This study provides some valuable references to understand citizens’ acceptance level of e-government services.

The purpose of the current study is to propose discriminated management strategies for mobile learning environments after observing the effects of mobile self-efficacy on performance expectancy and effort expectancy, the social influence on intention of use, and the effects of facilitating conditions and intention of use on learners' actual use of mobile learning by adding mobile self-efficacy to the UTAUT model proposed by Venkatesh et al. (2003). We established hypotheses to determine whether mobile self-efficacy, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions affect intention of use and whether intention of use affects actual use. Results showed that when mobile self-efficacy and performance expectancy is higher, so is the intention of using mobile learning services. It was confirmed that the factors had significant indirect effects on the actual use by mediating the intention of use and that the intention of use directly affected actual use. However, the current research reported that effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitation conditions did not have significant effects on the intention of using mobile learning services. These results will contribute substantially to the design of effective mobile learning environments.

This paper is about the use of big data analytics in higher education. In this paper, we see what the big data is and where does it come from. We will also try to find why the big data analytics has become a buzzword in almost every sector today through our literature review on the big data analytics and its applications in higher education sector. Then we see what the big educational data is, how it is generated and analyzed. We found that the two most important types of analytics are- Learning and academic analytics which will be discussed. Several papers describe the benefits of implementation of analytics in the education sector and the opportunities provided which will be discussed in this paper. We also found that the basic characteristics such as size, speed, variety and some other factors are responsible for some issues and challenges to the use of analytics in this sector. We will discuss those issues and challenges and discuss some proposed solutions to address them.

This paper examines the impact of internet use on student performance. In this cross-sectional study, one hundred twenty survey responses were collected from plus two-level students from BirendranagarSurkhet. The respondents were selected from class 11 and 12 students randomly. Frequency of internet use, location of internet use, cooperation from teachers for internet learning and peer group influence on internet use for academic purpose has been analyzed with their academic performance.one sample t test was used to analyze the data. The finding concludes all these variables have positive impact if the student use internet for learning process. Similarly, the analysis shows that the student who used internet at home for learning purpose has found highest academic achievement.

E-learning has gained recognition and fame in delivering and distributing educational resources, and the same has become possible with the occurrence of Internet and Web technologies. The research seeks to determine the factors that influence students' acceptance of E-learning and to find out the way these factors determine the students' intention to employ E-learning. A theoretical framework was developed based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). To obtain information from the 270 university students who utilized the E-learning system, a questionnaire was formulated. The results revealed that “social influence, perceived enjoyment, self-efficacy, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use” are the strongest and most important predictors in the intention of and students towards E-learning systems. The outcomes offer practical implications for practitioners, lawmakers, and developers in effective E-learning systems implementation to improve ongoing interests and activities of university students in a virtual E-learning atmosphere, valuable recommendations for E-learning practices are given by the research findings, and these may turn out to be as guidelines for the efficient design of E-learning systems.

WHY DO LEARNERS CHOOSE ONLINE LEARNING: THE LEARNERS’ VOICES Hale Ilgaz and Yasemin Gulbahar Ankara University, Distance Education Center, 06830 Golbasi, Ankara, Turkey ABSTRACT Offering many advantages to adult learners, e-Learning is now being recognized - and preferred - by more and more people, resulting in an increased number of distance learners in recent years. Numerous research studies focus on learner preferences for online learning, with most converging around the individual characteristics and differences, if not the features of the technology and pedagogy used. For Turkey, the situation is also similar, with the number of adult learners who prefer online learning increasing each year due to several reasons. The result of this is an increase in the number of online programs offered by many universities. Hence, this research study has been conducted to reveal the prevailing factors causing learners to choose online learning. Through this qualitative research regarding online learners in a state university, it is found that having a full time job, accessibility and flexibility, individual responsibility, effective time management, physical distance, institutional prestige, disability are the common factors for under graduate and graduate learners in their preference for online learning. Awareness of these factors can support the stakeholders while designing e-Learning from both technological and pedagogical points of view. KEYWORDS Online learning, preferences, expectations 1. Emphasizing that distance education has a bright and promising future, Zawacki-Richter and Naidu (2016) stress that, “In fact, there has never been a better time to be in the field of open, flexible, distance and online education than now!” (p. 20). The commonly discussed factors that make online learning attractive for adults are: independence from time and place; accessibility, and; economic reasons. With the MOOC movement, extremely high quality online courses are now being delivered to learners by many well-known universities. Moreover, many universities are either providing online programs or courses as a support to traditional instruction, in the form of blended learning, flipped classes, etc. Indeed, there are almost no universities left who don’t benefit from these advantages of technology usage and its support in teaching-learning processes. A variety of reasons might account for these learning preferences. Çağlar and Turgut (2014) attempted to identify the effective factors for the e-learning preferences of university students; they concluded that, “Efficient usage of time and reduced educational expenses were found to be on top of the list as the most valued advantages of e-learning” (p. 46). ...

This project focuses on the design and implementation of a web based cinema management system for the allocation of seat tickets online. The system would feature the registration of users, use of serial numbers and pins gotten from scratch cards sold and a printed slip. The system would have a store of all the seats and automate the generation of fresh serial numbers and pins.

The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message. When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely. When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item. Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.

Find the total number of discs required to transmit 60 kW at 3000 r.p.m. The maximum diameter of the clutch is 250 mm and the axial force is limited to 600 N. Also find the mean unit pressure on each contact surface. Q.3 A cone clutch is to be designed to transmit 7.5 kW at 900 r.p.m. The cone has a face angle of 12°. The width of the face is half of the mean radius and the normal pressure between the contact faces is not to exceed 0.09 N/mm². Assuming uniform wear and the coefficient of friction between the contact faces as 0.2, find the main dimensions of the clutch and the axial force required to engage the clutch. Q.4 A cone clutch is mounted on a shaft which transmits power at 225 r.p.m. The small diameter of the cone is 230 mm, the cone face is 50 mm and the cone face makes an angle of 15 deg with the horizontal. Determine the axial force necessary to engage the clutch to transmit 4.5 kW if the coefficient of friction of the contact surfaces is 0.25. What is the maximum pressure on the contact surfaces assuming uniform wear? Q.5 A soft surface cone clutch transmits a torque of 200 N-m at 1250 r.p.m. The larger diameter of the clutch is 350 mm. The cone pitch angle is 7.5 deg and the face width is 65 mm. If the coefficient of friction is 0.2. find: 1. the axial force required to transmit the torque: 2. the axial force required to engage the clutch; 3. the average normal pressure on the contact surfaces when the maximum torque is being transmitted; and 4. the maximum normal pressure assuming uniform wear. Q.6 A single block brake, as shown in Fig. 1. has the drum diameter 250 mm. The angle of contact is 90° and the coefficient of friction between the drum and the lining is 0.35. Laundry firms currently use a manual system for the management and maintenance of critical information. The current system requires numerous paper forms, with data stores spread throughout the laundry management infrastructure. Often information is incomplete or does not follow management standards. Records are often lost in transit during computation requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital information is lost. Multiple copies of the same information exist in the laundry firm data and may lead to inconsistencies in data in various data stores. A significant part of the operation of any laundry firm involves the acquisition, management and timely retrieval of great volumes of information. This information typically involves; customer personal information and clothing records history, user information, price of delivery and received date, users scheduling as regards customers details and dealings in service rendered, also our products package waiting list. All of this information must be managed in an efficient and cost wise fashion so that the organization resources may be effectively utilized. We present the design and implementation of a laundry database management system (LBMS) used in a laundry establishment. Laundry firms are usually faced with difficulties in keeping detailed records of customers clothing; this little problem as seen to most laundry firms is highly discouraging as customers are filled with disappointments, arising from issues such as customer clothes mix-ups and untimely retrieval of clothes. The aim of this application is to determine the number of clothes collected, in relation to their owners, as this also helps the users fix a date for the collection of their clothes. Also customer’s information is secured, as a specific id is allocated per registration to avoid contrasting information.

Aself-administeredquestionnaire was distributed among 300 students undertaking bachelor degree in a public higher institution in Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia. A descriptive investigation was performed via the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) computer program version 23.0 on factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, computer anxiety, and behavioural intention. Result inferred that of the twenty- eight measurement items, statement “If I have access to an online voting system, I will be more likelytovote”derivedfrom performance expectancy factor leading the list with highest mean values. This is followed by two statements: “People who are important to me think that I should use an online voting site”, and "I would find an online voting site useful”. The first derived from social influence factor, and the latter from performance expectancy factor. This result infers that students have positive perceptions towards campus e-voting. INTRODUCTION) E-voting refers to “casting a ballot via a broader range of electronic telecommunications technology including telephones, cable and satellite television, and computers without internet connection” (Gibson, 2001, p. 564). This study termed campuselectronic voting(i.e.campuse-voting) as the voting activities in campus conductedelectronically.A study by Suki and Suki (2017) noted that students’ decision- making and satisfaction in campus e-voting strongly influenced by voters’ commitment to vote. When the university enforce a condition for compulsory campus e- voting, students would feel that it is their obligation to do so independently with freedom. They also highly trusted the viability and accuracy of the system to receive thecampus e- voting results on the same day of the voting day. What’s more, campus e-voting delivers another vital trait that is it “saves voters’ time and energy from long queues and complex voting processes and procedures”(Suki&Suki, 2017). Besides, accessibility to candidate’s manifesto is also made possible. Accordingly, the purpose of this paper is to determine the perceptions of students towards campus e- voting in Malaysia by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model. The subsequent section presents theliteraturereviewassociated to UTAUT Model, followed by the methodology applied in this study. Following is the empirical results that examine the goals of the research. Conclusion and directionforfuture research are presented in the final section. 2. LITERATURE REVIEW The UTAUT model was developed by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis (2003) recognises performanceexpectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitatingconditions as direct determinants of behavioural intention to use an information system and use behaviour (see Figure 1). The present study applies the UTAUT model for the guiding principles to examine consumers’ intention to determinethe perceptions of students towards campus e-voting. Fig -1: Unified theory of acceptance and usage of technology Performance expectancy is defined as the “degree to which a person believes that using a particular system will enhance his or her performance” (Davis, 1989, p. 320). Research by Venkatesh, Thong, and Xu (2012) asserted that of all the UTAUT factors, performance expectancy was the leading predictor that affect one’s intention to use technology. These significant results also found in the works of Realpe-Muñoz, Collazos, Hurtado, Granollers, Muñoz -Arteaga, and Velasco- Medina (2018), Suki and Suki (2016), and Venkatesh et al. (2003). This study refers performance expectancy as the belief that using campus e-voting would enhance students’ performance.

The easeofuseofthetechnology necessitates individuals to devote only minimal effort in using it (Venkatesh et al., 2003). Preceding works by Arman and Hartani (2015) and Realpe-Muñoz et al. (2018)reported that users’ performance is delighted when the system is easy to use. In other words, effort expectancy positively impacted one’s intention to use a technology. In this study, effort expectancy is considered as the belief that using campus e- voting would be easy to use with minimal effort. Social influence is defined as “the degree to which an individual perceives that important others believe he or she should use the new system” (Venkateshetal.,2003,p.451).It is akin to “the perceptions of what friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours think of the particularbehaviour” (DeMagaad, Chew, Huang, Khan, Sreenivasan, & LaRose, 2013, p. 112). Social influence was found to affect one’s behavioural intention to use technology,asacknowledgedby Hsu and Lu (2004). Similar significant discoveryintheworks of Alaiad andZhou (2014). The present researchreferssocial influence as social pressure and influence on student’s intention to campus e-voting. Trust is “the willingness of an individual to accept an action offered by another individual with the hopes that the other party will perform the task without having to monitor the said party” (Mayer, Davis, & Schoorman, 1995, p. 709). Trust is also associated to self-assurance towards using thesystem which affects their actual use (Khalil & Nasrallah, 2014; Powell, Williams, Bock, Doellman, & Alan,2012).Akintothat, preceding scholars also uphold the same thought that trust influenced one’s intention to use a system and actual usage (AboSarma,AbdelHafez,Assassa,&Mursi,2017;Thompson& Jaeger, 2003). However, students with minimal trust to the system deters intentiontousee-votingsystem,asstressedby Schaupp (2005). Besides, computer anxiety is defined as “the individual feels uncomfortable or anxious when using or being expected to interact with a computer” (Howard & Smith, 1986, p. 611). Consumers with this type of characteristics have strong refusal to use the technology and they find it difficult to learn to use it (Fliotsos, 1992). Their intention to use it will rise when they instill lower level of computer anxiety (Fliotsos, 1992). This study mentions computer anxiety as student’s rejection to use campus e-voting. 3. METHODOLOGY A self-administered questionnaire was distributed among 300 students undertaking bachelor degree in a public higher institution in Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia. Of this, 62.3% of the respondentswerefemale,and37.7%weremale. In regards of age group, more than three-quarter of the respondents (80%) aged between 21 and 22 years old, and 20% aged from 19 to 20 years. Data were collected using convenience sampling technique over a period of two-week. The questionnaire was designed in two-section: Section A contained questions that assessed demographic characteristics of the respondents. Section B consisted questions related to respondent’s perception towards e- voting in respect to aspects performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, computer anxiety, and behavioural intention. The questionnaire items were adapted from Venkatesh et al. (2003) and were measured on a 5-point Likert scale with someamendments to reflectthe present study. A descriptive investigation was performed via the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) computerprogramversion23.0on factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, computer anxiety, and behavioural intention. 4. DATA ANALYSIS This section details descriptive results concerning the perceptions of students towards campus e-voting on factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, computer anxiety, and behavioural intention. 4.1 Performance Expectancy Table 1 describes the frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation for each of the four indicators of performance expectancy. The mean values vary among the factor items with the majority of respondents opt for 4 = agree or 5 = strongly agree for all of the items. Means ranges between 3.533 and 3.613. Statement “If I have access to an online voting system, I will be more likely to vote” had highest mean score. Precisely, more than half of respondents (68%) have expressed positive agreement on thisstatement, followed closely by statement “I have enough knowledge to differentiate between permissible and forbidden stuffs”. Further, respondents reported that they belief online voting site is beneficial and the system is easy to use to take part in elections with mean values of 3.577, and 3.563, respectively. On the other hand, statement “Using an online voting site would enhance my efficiency in voting in elections” had the lowest mean score among the four statements that belong to performance expectancy.

To discover respondents’ perceptions about this factor, descriptive statistics for each item were checked. Table 2 details that on a five-point likert scale, statement “I believe that interacting with an online voting site would be a clear and understandable process” had highest mean score (M=3.513). Besides, 66% of the respondents has positive thought regarding “It would be easy for me to becomeskilful at using an online voting site” with means = 3.473. Only 3% of the respondents had neutral perception towards this statement.Indeed,respondentsalsoexpressedthat“learning to use an online voting site would be easy for them” (M=3.433). On the other hand, the lowest mean score (M=3.397) appeared in statement “I would find an online voting site easy to use”. 4.3 Social Influence The next factor namely social influence entailed three items. All mean values surpassed 3.00 on a five-point likert scale (ranged from 3.470 to 3.580), inferring respondents mainly agreed on these statements (see Table 3). The first referred to statement “People who influencemybehaviourthinkthatI should use an online voting site”. Besides, statement “People who are important to me think that I should use an online voting site” had highest mean score of the three measurement items. Specifically, most respondents (68%) agreed, while 31% disagreed, and 1% neutral on this statement. Indeed, 65% of the participantsrevealedthatthey “would use an online voting site because of the proportion of friends and co-workers who will use it”. This statement had mean score of 3.503.

Table 4 particulars results of the descriptive statistics with mean scores among the factor items ranged from 3.433 and 3.457. More than half of the participants (54%) reported that “they think they can trust the university”. Indeed, this statement was discovered to have highest mean score. Furthermore, statement “In my opinion, the university is trustworthy”was the next essential item of trust in the university factor with mean values of 3.437. Descriptively, 27% of the respondents strongly agreed with this statement. Additionally, many respondents (64%) imparteda positive perceptionthat“The university can be trusted to carry out online voting transactions faithfully”, and only a small portion of the respondents (10%) strongly disagreed to this statement. 4.5 Trust in the Internet The subsequent factor, trust in the Internet, composed of six indicators. Considerable means variation exists among the factor items. In detail, majority of respondents selecting 4 = agree or 5 = strongly agree for all of the items. Means ranges between 3.347 and 3.523 (see Table 5). The first referred to statement “The internet has enough safeguards to make me feel comfortable using it to vote", and the latter referred to statement “I trust that internet votes will be accurately counted”. Ensuing to the latter measurementitem,morethan half of the participants (54%) expressed positively towards this statement, while only 2% provided neutral perception. When askedabout statement“I would trustthesecurityofan online voting system”, a quarter of the participants strongly agreed, while 39% agreed to this statement. In terms of perception that “the Internet is a safeenvironmentforonline voting”, 64% of the respondents agreed on this statement. Coherent to this positive perception, they “strongly felt assured that legal and technological structures adequately protect them from problems on the Internet”(mean=3.410). Of the six statements of trustontheInternetfactor,statement “I trust that online votes will not be tampered with” was found to have the lowest mean score (mean=3.373).

On a five- point likert scale, this statement had mean scores between 2.770and 2.893. Precisely, close to sixty percent (i.e.57%)of the participants disagreed that “theyfeelapprehensiveabout using an online voting system”, whereas 55% disagreed that “they would hesitateto use an onlinevotingsystemforfearof making mistakes theycannotcorrect”.Additionally,56%also disagreed that “their vote could be lost usinganonlinevoting system when hitting the wrong key”. What’smore,morethan half of the respondents (56%) also disagreed and strongly disagreed with the statement“anonlinevotingsystemwould be somewhat intimidating to me”. 4.7 Behavioural Intention Behavioural intention be made up of three items. Table 7 shows all mean values surpassed 3.00 on a five-point likert scale (ranged from 3.490 to 3.549), inferring respondents mainly agreed on the three statements. Importantly, 65% of the respondents reportedthat“theywouldnothesitatetouse an online voting site to vote in future elections”, whereas a very small portion of the respondents (8%) strongly disagreed to this statement.Indeed,theyexpressedthat“they could see themselves using an online voting system to participate in future elections”, with 40% strongly agreed, and 28% agreed towards it. Plus, majorityoftherespondents (66%) “would use an online voting site to vote in political elections”. However, of the three statements, this aspect had the lowest mean values i.e. 3.490.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION This study determined the perceptions of students towards campus e-voting in Malaysia by applying the UTAUT Model. Perceptions based on aspects like performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, computer anxiety, and behavioural intention were assessed. Result of the descriptive analysis reported that Result inferred that of the twenty-eight measurement items, statement “If I have access to an online voting system, I will be more likely to vote” derived from performance expectancy factor leading the list with highest mean values. This is followed by two statements: “People who are important to me think that I should use an online voting site”, and "I would find an online voting site useful”. The first derived from social influence factor, and the latter from performanceexpectancyfactor.Thisresultdeducesthat students have different perceptions towards campus e- voting. They would developstrongintentiontousecampuse- voting when they see that the system is useful, and easy to use with minimal effort. The system would save their time and effort to cast for a vote. This research furnishes imperative theoretical and practical contributions. On the theoretical side, this study applies the UTAUT Model to explain descriptive of aspects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trustintheInternet,computeranxiety, and behavioural intention towards campus e-voting in Malaysia. Hence, the discovery advances the existing studies which mainly executed in Westerncountries.Onthepractical side, developer of the e-voting system should develop less complex e-voting system to encourage for more usage. Besides, top management at university should evoke students’ interest to use e-voting system during selection of students’ representative council at the university. What’s more, the same concept should be employed in the appointment of dean, and top management at faculties. Future research is suggested to expand the size of sample coverage beyond Malaysia context to uncover a more generalizedinsightconcerningcampuse-voting.Additionally, structural relationships to assess nexus among performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, trust in the university, trust in the Internet, and computer anxiety with behavioural intention to use campus e-voting is a bright avenue forinvestigations.Besides,moderatingroleofgender, and age may produce differing perspectives on each of this factor.
