Prophet Muhammad Research Paper
Muhammad was known as the prophet of Allah. With modest beginnings, he ended up starting the
Islamic religion and building an empire in Arabia. Through his life, he taught important things, and his
legacy forever has an impression on the world.
Muhammad was born in Makkah, with his father already dead. Following customs, his mother sent
him away to live with nomads for a few years. Sadly, his mother died soon after he came home,
making him an orphan. His uncle took him in, and after accompanying his uncle on trading trips, he
became a trader. Later, he began managing caravans for a widow named Khadijah, and eventually she
requested for a marriage and he accepted.
Muhammad was a spiritual man, and once, when Muhammad was praying in a cave, he ... Show more

Some of his followers were tortured, but the Muslims didn t give up. As the number of Muslims grew,
the Makkans started to boycott, and refused to do any business with the Hashim clan, Muhammad s
clan. This took a toll on many people in Muhammad s clan, resulThe year Muhammad s family died,
he went on the Night Journey. This was a winged horse taking him to Jerusalem.
Muhammad went to Madinah, because he was getting protection there. Over here, he made a Muslim
community, and had everyone respect Christians and Jews. Like Muslims, they were known as People
of the Book. The Makkans and Muslims fought many battles against each other. After everything
settled down, Muhammad led his final pilgrimage, and in Makkah, he delivered the Last Sermon, and
died soon after.
After Muhammad s death, Arabia was succeeded by 4 rightly guided people, also known as the 4
caliphs. Over the course of 100 years, the 4 caliphs expanded the empire, and spread Islam from Spain
to India. There were sometimes disagreements, and the Muslims and the Umayyads started a civil war
when Ali became 4th caliph. After Ali was murdered, the leader of Umayyad clan claimed the
caliphate and started a dynasty, which eventually lead to a split between the Sunnis and the Shi a.
During the reign of the dynasty, Arabic language and acceptance of Islam unified the

The Benefits Of Abstinence-Only Curriculum
One of the most taboo topics within the American culture is sex. It is considered inappropriate to
speak of such a topic in any situation, especially around teenagers. Even in schools, many students
education have been censored in order to teach a curriculum that aligns with the core beliefs of others
who may not have the best interests of the students in mind. While the purpose of an education is to
equip a student with knowledge, the information that is currently being given about sex education is
not beneficial because it is focused on an approach that has been proven ineffective. In order to
prepare teenagers for healthier and safer lifestyles, North Carolina students should receive a more
comprehensive sexual education including contraceptives in contrast to the current at a glance
abstinence based sexual education that is currently offered to students.
To understand the shortcomings of the current sex education curriculum, one must first examine the
structure of the present system and those who create it. The idea of an abstinence only curriculum
became a dominant force within the education system in the early 1970 s when nearly half of the
states voted to restrict and or abolish sex education. It was not until the mid 1980 s and the ... Show

has also proven detrimental to students. On the other hand, a comprehensive sex education has

by allowing them to examine what beliefs they want to follow and allowing students to resist
becoming sexually active, preventing the transmittance of sexually transmitted diseases and infections

The Migration Of The European Union
The current issue I will be covering within this paper will be the ongoing migration of individuals
from northern African states, such as Syria and Libya, into Europe and states contained within the
European Union as a result of furthering IS advancement in the region. The displacement of these
individuals or migrants form their home lands not only causes severe socioeconomic strains on the
nations of Syria and Libya on top of the current political conflict, but it also afflicts the resources and
politics of the nations these individuals migrate to in order to escape the current conflict. There really

William Faulkner s The Giving Tree
The Giving tree is about how a little boy would come to this tree so he could have some fun. The little
boy loved the tree and the tree loved the boy as well. But as the boy grew older he needed the tree
more and more. The boy wanted some money so he asked the tree for some money but she didn t have
any, so she offered him her apples for him to sell. The boy/man would always come to the tree for
help, but he would never give the tree anything.
The main idea is that the boy is selfish. The tree represents a parent and how the boy would go to his
parents for help and the parent does anything in their power to help. The boy wanted a house but the

Police Discrimination And Discrimination
Most middle class whites have no idea what it feels like to be subjected to police who are routinely
suspicious, rude, belligerent, and brutal (Benjamin Spock) . In the United States and around the world
different people face discrimination, inequality, and racism because of the color of their skin instead of
content of their character. However, the shocking thing is that the violence can be seen in the
protectors of Peace and Liberty, the Police. They as humans also hold a sense of bias and racism and
act accordingly to their own personal desire instead of by the law. African Americans have cower and
be weary around the police because the police are rude and belligerent. When someone of a certain
race are faced with inequality and discrimination there will be protest and when protest do not work it
becomes riots. The thing that sparked the Watts Riots was when a police officer attacks a black male
and his mother for drinking and driving. In a New York Times article it states, When another officer
began hitting Mr. Frye and his mother, who had rushed to the scene, onlookers started throwing stones
and bottles . This shows that there was fault in Mr. Frye for drinking and drinking but he should have
been fine or arrested instead of being abused and assaulted. The conflicts with the police has been
going on for many years and this event sparked the protests into a full out riot. The U.S History in
Context states that,

People Management Issues of Mcdonalds
ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVOUR
MGF2111
ASSESSMENT TASK 1 (PART 2)
RESEARCH ESSAY
INTRODUCTION
This essay will discuss the key people management issues, found in McDonalds, being discrimination
due to diversity and low motivation as a result of job specialisation. McDonalds is large corporation
with thousands of employees, working in stores situated all over the world. This globalisation of stores
insures a need for a diverse workforce in every McDonald s store, in order to reflect the current
diversity around the world. This diversity can in turn cause problems of discrimination, which must be
managed to ensure McDonald s stores remain successful. McDonalds is also known for its consistency
in providing the same quality product and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increased attraction could result from a diverse workforce, as potential employees may see the
organisation as a fair and reasonable place to work. Additionally a diverse organisation promotes
retention of employees as it creates higher employee morale (De Janasz et al., 2007).
Furthermore a diverse workforce helps breed innovation, through putting together people with diverse
skills and ideas (De Janasz et al., 2007). It enables the organisation to cope with diversity outside the
organisation, such as their company image (De Janasz et al., 2007). It can also enable greater
flexibility and openness to change, through the whole organisation. Therefore, managing diversity
should not be seen as an issue, but rather as an opportunity to enhance your organisation.
RECOMMENDATIONS
In order to grow and prosper in your organisation, managers must look at improving their
organisational diversity in order to reduce discrimination. It is also essential that managers display
openness to diversity as, if management advocates a diverse workforce, it ensures the employees will
also ensure that diversity is welcomed throughout the organisation (Lindenberger amp; Stoltz Loike,
2010).
An organisation that is able to display a strong dedication to promoting diversity and instilling the
view that diversity is not an issue that must be solved but rather and opportunity, reduces the chances
of discrimination amongst workers (Cox amp; Blake, 1991,

The journal article question is clearly stated. The question asks whether the behaviourist, the
psychoanalytic, the cognitive, or the neuroscientific perspective is most intellectually significant and
most prominent in psychology today (Robins, Goling, amp; Craik, 1999, p. 117).

Articles regarding the psychoanalytic and neuroscientific perspective, however, were essentially non
existent throughout the studied period. Authors provided graphs and tables in order to demonstrate
their findings over time for each index (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.121 126).
V. Discussion/Conclusions
Due to their compelling findings, the authors were able to construct several conclusions. Firstly,
psychoanalytic journals, dissertations, and flagship articles have not been in the spotlight of
mainstream psychology for the past several decades (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.123, 124).
Secondly, with the focus currently on cognitive psychology, behavioural psychology has and
continues to subside in scientific psychology (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.124). Moreover,
the authors state that one reason cognitive psychology is transcending behavioural psychology is due
to the immeasurable role of computers in modern society. For example, thanks to computers,
considerable changes have taken place in regards to scientists understanding of memory, information
processing, etc (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.124). Lastly, mainstream psychology does not
yet recognize neuropsychology; however, there is an obvious increase in popularity that is underway.
Authors recommend further research to explore the growing prominence

Tesco Marketing
INTRODUCTION
Marketing is essentially a matching process between the needs and expectations of customers, and the
organization s ability and capacity to satisfy them.
One of the main points of this process is the marketing planning.
The purpose of marketing planning and its principal focus are the identification and creation of
competitive advantage. Marketing planning is the planned application of marketing resources to
achieve marketing objectives.

Add to that a high rate of unemployment causes a drop in effective demand for goods, that demand
requiring for the production of goods.
While these economic factors are largely outside the control of Tesco, they have an undeniable impact
on the company business performance and its marketing decisions.
Tesco operates in a global world and is now located in several countries, and this international
business is still growing, but it remains dependent on the UK market. This excessive concentration on
a single market exposes them to risks and would be negatively affected by any slowdown in the UK
food market (as the crisis of mad cow in the 1990s)
Finally, the economic crisis, which is still current, tends to reduce the purchasing power of consumers,
who are much more reluctant and afraid to spend more than they can.
New technologies have had a great impact. For instance, online shopping has become a major factor in
Tesco s recent success.
Technology is the basis for the development of many products in the Tesco range. These new
technologies have provided consumers than the company itself.
Consumer satisfaction is higher because services are more personalized and responsive to each and
shopping becomes more enjoyable and seems less arduous. To obtain customer satisfaction, Tesco has
put in place in its stores the following technologies:

Langston Hughes The Negro Speaks Of Rivers
The Negro Speaks Of Rivers by Langston Hughes argues the fact that rivers are a symbolic
representation of Africans enslavement and their freedom, he conveys this message by using literary
devices such as repetition, simile, symbolism, and personification. Throughout the poem Langston
Hughes conveys his message by demonstrating the freedom and slavery through different forms. The
writer demonstrates it by showing that freedom is what Africans have always had, freedom being a
part of them, history and their tribulations. All these factors tie to the meaning of the rivers and their
purpose in this poem.
Langston Hughes uses repetition to demonstrate that freedom is something they have had, but have
have been deprived of it. I ve known rivers is stated throughout the poem. This one phrase indicates
that freedom was theirs. The word known is in the past tense demonstrating that it is not occurring
anymore. The freedom they once had is no more theirs. The writer at one point in his life had known
what freedom was like, but does not recall anymore. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Alcohol And Tea Reflection Paper
In the concluding thoughts of my previous reflection paper, I turned my attention to beverages in
Chinese religion, more specifically to the role of alcohol in religious ceremonies and social life. I
wondered: what is the role of alcohol and other special beverages in Chinese religions? In this
reflection paper, I will turn my attention towards tea and the roles that it played in monastic life in
China as well as among the laity, while also continuing the discussion on the role of alcohol. To
conclude I would like to return to a previous question: what does the mode of otherness do in a
religious context. Taking this question, I will examine the relationship between otherness and popular
religion in China.
There were primarily two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Benn outlined: the precept against consuming alcohol is one of the five precepts observed by
laypeople. Even though many monks did consume alcohol, the promise of severe karmic
consequences prompted many to turn to tea. According to John Kieschnick, tea was a very valuable
resource for monks. He states: there were a number of reasons for monks to drink tea, including its
medicinal properties, its value as a stimulant after noon, and as an aid in staying alert during
meditation. Tea, like alcohol, could also be used as an offering at temples. Its rarity imbued it with
both symbolic value as well as economic value, factors which put the beverage in high monastic
regard. We can therefore conclude that both tea and alcohol played important roles, while tea became
instrumental to the operation of monastic life, alcohol played an important role in secular life.
While reading about popular religion, I was reminded of my question reading the role of the mode of
otherness in a religious context. I formulated a new question: Does popular religion and its food
practices exist in a mode of otherness? From the readings, I drew three possible responses to this
question.
The first possible response is a firm no. Popular religion belongs to the populace, and many aspects
are practiced by large swaths of the population regardless of other religious beliefs. As we have
studied, ancestor veneration, though distinctive practice of popular

The Kent State Massacre Essay
On May 4, 1970 at approximately 12:24 PM members of the Ohio National Guard shot at and killed
several unarmed Kent State University students. These students were protesting President Nixon s
decision to invade Cambodia. While some of the students who were shot at were actively protesting at
the time of the shooting, others were simply walking by or casually observing the protest from a
distance. How could an appalling incident like this occur? What possessed the members of the Ohio
National Guard to shoot at unarmed students? In order to fully understand the circumstances
surrounding the Kent State Massacre, it is important to back track several days and establish a timeline

It is interesting to note there was a stark contrast between day and night activities in the city of Kent.
During the day, guardsmen casually patrolled and went about business as usual. In fact, there were
even reports that throughout the daytime hours students would have long, peaceful conversations with
the guardsmen. However, at night, the violence would break out while mass protests were held,
forcing the students and guardsmen to quickly retreat to opposite sides. Once again, on the evening of
May 3, non lethal force was used and people were arrested as the guardsmen again struggled to take
control of the violence erupting in the city of Kent Ohio. Earlier in the weekend, university officials
banned all protests and assemblies on campus. Students ignored this ruling and began congregating
around eleven AM for the scheduled twelve noon protest. When the protest began, a Kent State police
officer patrolled the campus with several guardsmen in a jeep announcing that the protest was illegal
and everyone must leave the campus immediately. In response to this dispersion call, the students
became violent, throwing rocks and attacking the jeep. The general in charge of the guardsmen in
Kent, General Canterbury, ordered the guardsmen to arm themselves and fire tear gas in an attempt to
disperse the crowd. As the crowd of

Health Care Reform In Canada
Health care reform has been the main factor of parting between Canada and the United States, with the
different political systems of the countries influencing how the molding of the system occurs. A Social
Democratic Third Party in Canada had created the foundation of reform, the influence that a third
party had on the government of Canada was significant (Maioni, 1997, p.415). The working class
banded together to support the third party in Canada to push for their rights in a way that the major
two parties were unable to do and unconcerned with doing, the third party that was supported created
essentially a voice that gave the working class a prominent position in their country with concern to
reform in health benefits. Within the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beginning in Saskatchewan with the help of the Co Operative Commonwealth Federation in coalition
with the New Democratic Party holding control in the province of Sasakachwan and acquiring great
influence through the support of labour workers in other provinces they were able to pressure the
government towards reform and grasp the attention of the working class (Maioni, 1997, p.415). The
joining of an organization like the CCF and the political party of NDP created great influence that led
to the formation of universal health care by means of a third party. As opposed to the United States
who were unable to convince the organization nor the political party to get involved in the reforms of
health services, this stood in the way of reform, the inability to form a coalition between these two
groups and inability to convince them of reforms in healthcare led to the rejection (Maioni, 1997,
p.420). It was not solely an issue of the lack of third party representation rather that health care reform
was not an idea that had an opportunity to be tested in a state under a trial basis therefore they were
unable to weigh the benefits or consequences as had happened in Saskatchewan, in which they
essentially had senn how the system worked and drew up the conclusion that that universal health care
would be a benefit to Canada (Maioni, 1997, p.421).

Security And Application Software Within A School...
In this report, I will be discussing operating systems, management of information, security and

inclusive of my internal assessments of which I have completed at school, and at home. Operating
software (OS) An operating system has the ability to manage both the hardware and software of a

which is carried out. Computers and devices require both hardware and software for it to operate.
Without one, you will not have a functioning machine. All desktops utilise operating systems, of
which the software (or OS) is a collection of code installed onto the computer s hard drive and is
intangible. It includes the computer programs, folders, files and documents. The internet browser, like
Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome that allows you to visit online web pages and the operating system
that the browser is running on is considered software, while computer hardware is any physical device
used in or with your computer or machine. It is something you can physically touch. Examples of

Elisa Confused Essay
Elisa Confused Like many short stories, John Steinbeck s The Chrysanthemums deceives most readers
by appearing to be a simple short story. The Chrysanthemums, which only occupies about eight pages
in textbooks, captures the emotional pain of a woman trying to live in the 1930 s. As critic Stanley
Renner wrote, The Chrysanthemums shows a strong capable woman kept from personal, social, and
sexual fulfillment by the prevailing conception of a woman s role in a world dominated by men
(Renner 306). Elisa Allen, the only female in The Chrysanthemums displays her sexual frustrations

Elisa has spoken too much about masculine subjects because he resorts back to calling the
chrysanthemums simply flowers (221). This first scene between husband and wife sets the tone of the
entire story. Elisa s gestures and actions change as different words and topics are mentioned to her.
She feel s unimportant and inferior as a woman and strong enough to be a man. Soon after Henry
leaves to finish he work, the tinker is introduced into the story. Here is where Elisa s sexuality is
tested. Elisa s first reaction to the tinker is similar to that of a man s, for she resists giving him work
(Marcus 56). She show strong qualities as she tells the tinker she as no work for him. The tinker
begins to weaken Elisa, though, and eventually breaks her strong stance by using her pride and joy her
chrysanthemums. The tinker captures the beauty of the chrysanthemums in a poetic, feminine nature.
He describes them as a quick puff of colored smoke, which appeals to Elisa s feminine side. Suddenly,
Elisa begins to unveil her womanliness. She tears off her hat and shakes out her dark pretty hair
(Steinbeck 224). By being interested in Elisa s feminine flowers, the tinker makes Elisa comfortable
with her sexuality. Allowing her feminine nature to appear, Elisa becomes emotional vulnerable during
the business transaction involving her chrysanthemums. This is

A comparison Study of Russia and Estonia
Human rights are a fundamental aspect of the lives of individuals. The atrocities committed
throughout history have prompt the formation of a variety of organizations that have encourage the
advancement and respect for the human rights of all individuals around the world. Despite a growing
human rights movement and awareness among individuals, many countries still continue to violate the
human rights of their citizens. There could be many reasons for this trend, but there are certain factors
that could indicate why some countries have higher levels of human rights violations than others.

866). Their rationality is based on the fact that democracy empowers the masses that are able to use
this power to fight back and prevent their government from abusing their human rights. Democracy
also makes it easier for citizens to report instances of state repression to the international community,
thus forcing abusive leaders to either stop the abuses or to renounce their power (Poe Tate, 1994, p.
855 866). In a semi democratic country like Russia, this empowerment of the masses has less strength
to significantly prevent state repression, and sometimes the ability to shed light on abuses is difficult
since mass media is practically controlled by the abusive government. Similarly, Davenport (1995)
argues that democratic governments are less likely to use repression when dealing with mass
demonstrations because their nature is to allow expressions of freedom by the citizenry, which they
are aware always comes with a level of domestic disorder. This awareness decreases the use of
violence against the citizens (p. 690 691). Since Russia is a semi democratic state, government respect
and awareness of citizens freedom in not yet well developed, so the government continues to react
violently and to use repression when dealing with mass demonstrations, as it was the nature of the pre
existing socialist government.

Immigrants In America During The Nineteenth Century
No matter their religion, language, or struggles they faced upon arrival in America throughout the
eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the one thing all Irish had in common was their reason for leaving
Ireland; the English. Whether Catholic from southern Ireland or Presbyterian from the Ulster region,
the Irish were systematically oppressed by the Anglican Church of England. For those who could
afford the passage, America meant freedom to worship as they chose and for the Ulster Presbyterians;
recognition that their church was valid. For the southern Irish, unfortunately, during the 1800 s
America was a heavily Protestant country that harbored severe suspicions of Catholics and rumors the
Pope was plotting to destroy their country. This meant

24 Baby Gorillas Research Paper
On Saturday, the Rwandan government named 24 baby gorillas, as part of its annual Kwita Izina
naming ceremony that takes place in Rwanda s Volcanoes National Park every year. The event, largely
considered a popular tourist attraction, has been taking place for the past 11 years. This year, in a
scene The Guardian describes as reminiscent of Planet of the Apes, a dozen performers in hairy gorilla
suits took the place of the 24 baby gorillas, which were not present at the ceremony. The naming
ceremony pays homage to a Rwandan tradition celebrating the birth of a child. Aside from its role as a
tourist attraction, the event sheds light on the importance of conservation in the country. Today, the
World Wildlife Fund estimates that there are

Comparing Prince Hamlet In The T. V Play
Both Prince hamlet in the play Hamlet, and Clay in the T.V. series Thirteen Reasons Why, have ways
of dealing with loss, seeking the truth, and getting revenge. Both characters deal with a great amount
of grief, hurt, and confusion. These two characters are alike in many ways throughout the play, and the
T.V series. In the play Hamlet, Prince Hamlet s father dies by the hand of his uncle who goes by the
name of Claudius. Hamlet is confused, hurt, and depressed, and he doesn t know how to deal with
what he s feeling after the loss/murder of his father Prince Hamlet. O, that this too too sullied flesh

The, 12 Angry Men, And Nasa s Challenger Disaster
Speak your mind even if your voice shakes , a quote made famous by Maggie Kuhn, is the foundation
of how I conduct my life. While the fundamentals of being an open minded, educated, and well
rounded individual involve considering the opinions of others and evaluating both sides of the
argument, too often people become complacent and lose the ability to think for themselves. The
common term that refers to this type of herd mentality is sheeple . The play, 12 Angry Men, and
NASA s Challenger disaster are two prime examples of the downfalls of groupthink. Below, I will
discuss both the helpful and harmful aspects of groupthink surrounding both 12 Angry Men, and the
Challenger disaster, as well as the effects of groupthink on today s voting young adults.
In the play, 12 Angry Men, the vote was 11 1 in favor of a guilty verdict in the case being tried. The
one juror stood his ground, explained his theory as to why a guilty verdict could not be delivered, and
was unwavering in his stance. The jurors went around the table twice, and ended with everyone siding
with the original juror. As the deliberations played out and jurors were questioned, some jurors were
not able to justify their guilty verdict, merely stating It just is . This statement shows the effect of the
groupthink mentality, especially since one juror was considerably vocal and angered by the time being
spent on deliberations. The logical discussions the other jurors had with one another displayed a
positive aspect

5 December 2016 Frankenstein a warning to science? Gene mutations have become very helpful in
todays time. If your child has a disorder when they are born then doctors can take that certin gene out

Recidivism In American Prisons
Prisons are meant to securely hold convicts as well as those who are remanded. Such people are kept
in custody for certain duration of time. The nature of crime defines the length of time that that person
will serve in prison. For some crimes such as murder, an individual may be sentenced to death. As
such, prisons serve as confinement zones for those who have been determined to be wrong doers or
those who have been accused as such. This particular essay tends to investigate one thing that I would
like to rectify in the United States correctional system based on its current situation.
The American prisons system is a failed system. It needs tremendous change so that it can truly serve
its role in the American society. For instance, the high rate of recidivism is sufficient evidence that the
system has serious deficiencies. Emphasis ought to be made on the basic mission of these correctional
facilities because inmates must be educated, rehabilitated, and ensured of ... Show more content on

They act as confining zones for the accused and the convicted people. Perhaps this can be confirmed if
you ask the prison controllers of what their definition for success is. They will most likely define it in
terms of keeping security within these institutions so that those confined within them do not escape.
That is why America has prisons. Such places have a singular role of locking up people as though they
were birds in cages and results in dehumanizing them. Although prisons are used as an instrument for
justice, their primary functions have been changed to appear as though they just isolate people from
the public for a given number of calendar periods that may go for as long as one dies. Thus, you will
definitely find the prison administrators taking success to mean that they hold people in such
institutions until they serve the number of days that they are held in

Introduction: Figure 1: Formation of Aβ due to cleavage of APP by β secretase. The first generation
inhibitors for BACE1 were peptidomimetics, compounds in which the scissile amide bond has been
replaced with a tetrahedral intermediate isostere, typically a secondary alcohol. However, the earlier
peptidomimetics have proved to be too large, polar and had no CNS availability.10 The second

compared to 1 (Kd=15M). BACE1 is an aspartyl protease which has an acid base catalysis
mechanism. It uses two aspartates to deprotonate a water molecule in the active site, which then adds
to the substrate. The isothiourea functionality of 2 engaged in hydrogen bond donor−acceptor

Project Risk Management At Ernst And Young Next Summer
Problem 1
I decided to research the article Shift the Focus of the PMO From IT Project Risk Management to
Business Investment Risk Management. This topic interests me because I will be interning at Ernst
and Young next summer and will be primarily engaged in IT risk advisory, with an emphasis on
financial services. I want to develop an understanding of the type of work I will perform in this
position and believe this topic relates most appropriately to the position. The title suggests that the
article will be a higher level analysis, something I was looking for when choosing an article.
The article focused on the benefits of shifting the emphasis from IT governance to business change
governance. This aids the PMO to see the full scope of all the risks involved in projects and portfolios.
The article provided six classes for risks. These were technology risk, schedule risk, complexity risk,
operational risk, business risk, and organizational risk. Contrary to popular belief, multiple surveys
indicate that technology risk is rarely the most important factor for an initiative. These risks are then
weighed and reviewed for potential hedging options. The article concluded with the benefits of the
PMO delegating ownership. The PMO will maintain a higher level view of the project and gain
significantly improved chances for success. IT may in some cases retain an IT PMO as a subset of the
enterprise PMO, especially for IT infrastructure projects, but the emphasis on the enterprise

Fast Five Movie Analysis
Fast Five Film Review A 2011 American Action Film directed by Justin Lin. The movie was written
by Chris Morgan. The movie is the 5th film for The Fast and Furious Series. It was first released in
Australia on April 20, 2011 and then later released in the United States on April 29, 2011.
Cinematography for the movie was put together by Stephen F. Winden. The film was distributed by
Universal Pictures. Fast Five was a financial success that broke box office records for the opening
weekend in April of 2011. The movie was so popular that is overpassed the Fast And Furious action
movie series. In the flourishing stages of the film, Universal studios veered away from street racing
and wanted to pull off an action packed heist involving fast cars. They took this route to attract an
even larger crowd than the Fast and Furious series already did. Fast Five is considered the transitional
film for the series where it includes only one racing scene and more action packed scenes such as
gunfights, melee, and a $100 million bank heist. The production company had a tactic that included
advertising through social media and NASCAR itself. Fast Five made over $626.1 million in sales in
the United States Box Office. It made 66 on the list for the all time worldwide list for highest grossing
movie sales. The movie is rated PG 13 and its total running time is two hours and 10 minutes. The
main characters set in the movie are Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson,
Ludacris, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Joaquim de Almeida,
Dwayne Johnson, etc. After a successful prison escape, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Jordana Brewster
flee to Rio De Janeiro. Sooner than you know it, they are involved in another high speed race car theft.
As the film goes on, their plan goes south and things start to get out of hand. During this time, they
kill three DEAAgents and are wanted by the Kingpin leader of a drug cartel, Joaquim de Almeida, and
a ruthless federal agent, Dwayne Johnson. As their time begins to wind down, Vin and Paul gather up
a group of elite outlaws to stage a $100 million heist while being chased down all over the city of Rio

Rhetorical Analysis Of How Not To Respond To Virginia Tech-II

to bring forth the issue of mental health. By breaking down proposed campus safety ideas, asking
rhetorical questions, and reiterating his main message, Sokolow effectively convinces college
universities and the general public that the dilemma at hand is not campus safety, but rather mental
health. For Sokolow to properly criticize the proposed campus safety ideas, he must first acknowledge
them. Without doing so would make him seem extremely biased

Tao Te Ching Themes
The Tao Te Ching is a historic Chinese text that is famously known for its rich commentary on a
variety of spiritual, ethical, and political topics. A couple themes that are touched in the Tao Te Ching
typically deal with the notion of virtue, benevolence, and so forth. In this paper, I will examine four
specific stanzas from the Tao Te Ching, illustrate the applicability and relevancy of themes such as
materialistic possessions, inner peace, humility accountability, political leadership, and demonstrate
that such themes can help us re evaluate our values in today s society in the path for a harmonious
lifestyle.

Stop trying to control. Let go of fixed plans and concepts, and the world will govern itself . From this,
the Tao Te Ching explicitly states that we must let go of our need to control. Great leaders are
individuals who do not monitor or control every facet, but rather trust in the process of the outcome,
and allow the good to flourish for itself. In particular, this relates to the current atmosphere of
American politics in how control has negatively impacted Trump s presidency, and how such actions
has affected the global image for America. Furthermore, this is spiritually meaningful as the Tao Te
Ching wants us to follow the flow of the Tao, or the harmony of the universe. In short, an obsessive or
controlling individual will not live a life that is filled with happiness and harmony. Tyrannical leaders
will not be able to maintain a balance in the governed

The Influence Of The Spanish Conquistadors
In February of 1519, Spanish conquistador, Hernan Cortés, landed with his fleet at Cozumel Mexico
on the Yucatan coast. This devious, charming, and ruthless conquistador lead a band of just 500
European adventurers. Aztec emperor Moctezuma, the richest most powerful man in the Americas,
ruler of 25 million people, has welcomed Cortés and his men in his palace. Their numbers were small,
after all. How could they constitute as a threat when you have an army that is ten thousand times
larger than the few hundred souls that they brought? This was a mistake that will change the fate of a
continent. Though he wasn t the first conquistador to land on these shores, he was the best armed.
Cortes brought the most cutting edge weaponry available, including canons. Having weapons like this
with the addition of horses on the battlefield was a distinct physical and psychological advantage.
Their key element to success in conquest, was their advanced weaponry and fine armor. The Spanish
conquistadors originated from all over Europe, but the majority of them came from Southern and
Southwestern Spain. These explorers originated from families ranging from the poor to the lower
nobility. The high born explorers rarely needed to set off in search of adventure. They had to bear
some money to acquire the tools of their trade, such as weapons, armor, and horses. Other explorers
were veteran, professional soldiers who had fought for Spain in other wars, such as the reconquest of

Critical Commentary On Group Work
Critical Commentary Essay
Group work has been a cornerstone of the social work profession and requires a variety of facilitator

This particular group also incorporated different practise frameworks, such as cognitive behavioural
therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy to help group members successfully understand their goals and
the resources needed to attain those goals. Based on the literature, CBT is a goal directed and semi
structured therapy that seeks to change negative thinking patterns and reduce maladaptive behaviours
to promote socio emotional well being (CUCARO, 2017). This framework is evident within the
facilitated role play activities (i.e. 05:25 06:50) that encouraged members to walk through a scenario

opportunity to critically analyze their own coping strategies (successful or otherwise) as well as

in which people are encouraged to recount their stories as related to the circumstances at hand...

McDonalds is large corporation with thousands of employees, working in stores situated all over the world. This globalisation of stores insures a need for a diverse workforce in every McDonald s store, in order to reflect the current diversity around the world. Increased attraction could result from a diverse workforce, as potential employees may see the organisation as a fair and reasonable place to work. Additionally a diverse organisation promotes retention of employees as it creates higher employee morale (De Janasz et al., 2007). Furthermore a diverse workforce helps breed innovation, through putting together people with diverse skills and ideas (De Janasz et al., 2007). It enables the organisation to cope with diversity outside the organisation, such as their company image (De Janasz et al., 2007). It can also enable greater flexibility and openness to change, through the whole organisation. Therefore, managing diversity should not be seen as an issue, but rather as an opportunity to enhance your organisation. RECOMMENDATIONS In order to grow and prosper in your organisation, managers must look at improving their organisational diversity in order to reduce discrimination. It is also essential that managers display openness to diversity as, if management advocates a diverse workforce, it ensures the employees will also ensure that diversity is welcomed throughout the organisation (Lindenberger amp; Stoltz Loike, 2010). An organisation that is able to display a strong dedication to promoting diversity and instilling the view that diversity is not an issue that must be solved but rather and opportunity, reduces the chances of discrimination amongst workers (Cox amp; Blake, 1991, ... Discussion/Conclusions Due to their compelling findings, the authors were able to construct several conclusions. Firstly, psychoanalytic journals, dissertations, and flagship articles have not been in the spotlight of mainstream psychology for the past several decades (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.123, 124). Secondly, with the focus currently on cognitive psychology, behavioural psychology has and continues to subside in scientific psychology (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.124). Moreover, the authors state that one reason cognitive psychology is transcending behavioural psychology is due to the immeasurable role of computers in modern society. For example, thanks to computers, considerable changes have taken place in regards to scientists understanding of memory, information processing, etc (Robins, Gosling, amp; Craik, 1999, p.124). I wondered: what is the role of alcohol and other special beverages in Chinese religions? In this reflection paper, I will turn my attention towards tea and the roles that it played in monastic life in China as well as among the laity, while also continuing the discussion on the role of alcohol. To conclude I would like to return to a previous question: what does the mode of otherness do in a religious context. As Benn outlined: the precept against consuming alcohol is one of the five precepts observed by laypeople. Even though many monks did consume alcohol, the promise of severe karmic consequences prompted many to turn to tea. According to John Kieschnick, tea was a very valuable resource for monks. He states: there were a number of reasons for monks to drink tea, including its medicinal properties, its value as a stimulant after noon, and as an aid in staying alert during meditation. Tea, like alcohol, could also be used as an offering at temples. Its rarity imbued it with both symbolic value as well as economic value, factors which put the beverage in high monastic regard. We can therefore conclude that both tea and alcohol played important roles, while tea became instrumental to the operation of monastic life, alcohol played an important role in secular life. While reading about popular religion, I was reminded of my question reading the role of the mode of otherness in a religious context. I formulated a new question: Does popular religion and its food practices exist in a mode of otherness? From the readings, I drew three possible responses to this question. The first possible response is a firm no. Popular religion belongs to the populace, and many aspects are practiced by large swaths of the population regardless of other religious beliefs. Democracy also makes it easier for citizens to report instances of state repression to the international community, thus forcing abusive leaders to either stop the abuses or to renounce their power (Poe Tate, 1994, p. 855 866). In a semi democratic country like Russia, this empowerment of the masses has less strength to significantly prevent state repression, and sometimes the ability to shed light on abuses is difficult since mass media is practically controlled by the abusive government. Similarly, Davenport (1995) argues that democratic governments are less likely to use repression when dealing with mass demonstrations because their nature is to allow expressions of freedom by the citizenry, which they are aware always comes with a level of domestic disorder. This awareness decreases the use of violence against the citizens (p. 690 691). The common term that refers to this type of herd mentality is sheeple . The play, 12 Angry Men, and NASA s Challenger disaster are two prime examples of the downfalls of groupthink. Below, I will discuss both the helpful and harmful aspects of groupthink surrounding both 12 Angry Men, and the Challenger disaster, as well as the effects of groupthink on today s voting young adults. In the play, 12 Angry Men, the vote was 11 1 in favor of a guilty verdict in the case being tried. The one juror stood his ground, explained his theory as to why a guilty verdict could not be delivered, and was unwavering in his stance. The jurors went around the table twice, and ended with everyone siding with the original juror. As the deliberations played out and jurors were questioned, some jurors were not able to justify their guilty verdict, merely stating It just is . This statement shows the effect of the groupthink mentality, especially since one juror was considerably vocal and angered by the time being spent on deliberations. The logical discussions the other jurors had with one another displayed a positive aspect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Recidivism In American Prisons Prisons are meant to securely hold convicts as well as those who are remanded. Such people are kept in custody for certain duration of time. The nature of crime defines the length of time that that person will serve in prison. For some crimes such as murder, an individual may be sentenced to death. As such, prisons serve as confinement zones for those who have been determined to be wrong doers or those who have been accused as such. This particular essay tends to investigate one thing that I would like to rectify in the United States correctional system based on its current situation. The American prisons system is a failed system. It needs tremendous change so that it can truly serve its role in the American society. For instance, the high rate of recidivism is sufficient evidence that the system has serious deficiencies. They will most likely define it in terms of keeping security within these institutions so that those confined within them do not escape. That is why America has prisons. Such places have a singular role of locking up people as though they were birds in cages and results in dehumanizing them. Although prisons are used as an instrument for justice, their primary functions have been changed to appear as though they just isolate people from the public for a given number of calendar periods that may go for as long as one dies. The first generation inhibitors for BACE1 were peptidomimetics, compounds in which the scissile amide bond has been replaced with a tetrahedral intermediate isostere, typically a secondary alcohol. However, the earlier peptidomimetics have proved to be too large, polar and had no CNS availability.10 The second generation inhibitors were substrates of P glycoprotein which effluxes compound out of the cell and leads to poor CNS distribution. BACE1 is an aspartyl protease which has an acid base catalysis mechanism. It uses two aspartates to deprotonate a water molecule in the active site, which then adds to the substrate. The isothiourea functionality of 2 engaged in hydrogen bond donor−acceptor interactions with the catalytic dyad of BACE1 (Asp32/Asp228). Project Risk Management At Ernst And Young Next Summer Problem 1 I decided to research the article Shift the Focus of the PMO From IT Project Risk Management to Business Investment Risk Management. This topic interests me because I will be interning at Ernst and Young next summer and will be primarily engaged in IT risk advisory, with an emphasis on financial services. I want to develop an understanding of the type of work I will perform in this position and believe this topic relates most appropriately to the position. The title suggests that the article will be a higher level analysis, something I was looking for when choosing an article. The article focused on the benefits of shifting the emphasis from IT governance to business change governance. This aids the PMO to see the full scope of all the risks involved in projects and portfolios. The article provided six classes for risks. These were technology risk, schedule risk, complexity risk, operational risk, business risk, and organizational risk. Contrary to popular belief, multiple surveys indicate that technology risk is rarely the most important factor for an initiative. These risks are then weighed and reviewed for potential hedging options. The article concluded with the benefits of the PMO delegating ownership. The PMO will maintain a higher level view of the project and gain significantly improved chances for success. IT may in some cases retain an IT PMO as a subset of the enterprise PMO, especially for IT infrastructure projects, but the emphasis on the enterprise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The production company had a tactic that included advertising through social media and NASCAR itself. Fast Five made over $626.1 million in sales in the United States Box Office. It made 66 on the list for the all time worldwide list for highest grossing movie sales. The movie is rated PG 13 and its total running time is two hours and 10 minutes. Great leaders are individuals who do not monitor or control every facet, but rather trust in the process of the outcome, and allow the good to flourish for itself. In particular, this relates to the current atmosphere of American politics in how control has negatively impacted Trump s presidency, and how such actions has affected the global image for America. Furthermore, this is spiritually meaningful as the Tao Te Ching wants us to follow the flow of the Tao, or the harmony of the universe. Aztec emperor Moctezuma, the richest most powerful man in the Americas, ruler of 25 million people, has welcomed Cortés and his men in his palace. Their numbers were small, after all. How could they constitute as a threat when you have an army that is ten thousand times larger than the few hundred souls that they brought? This was a mistake that will change the fate of a continent. Though he wasn t the first conquistador to land on these shores, he was the best armed. Their key element to success in conquest, was their advanced weaponry and fine armor. The Spanish conquistadors originated from all over Europe, but the majority of them came from Southern and Southwestern Spain. These explorers originated from families ranging from the poor to the lower nobility. The high born explorers rarely needed to set off in search of adventure.
