The Qur An

The Noble Qur an
The Qur an, also known as Kitah Allah (the book of God) is the religious text of Muslim Scripture. It
is the revelation of God that the Prophet Muhammad received by the archangel Gabriel and written in
Arabic language. It provides Muslims with guidelines and detailed teachings for a just society, proper
human behaviors, and an egalitarian economic system. One can only truly understand the teachings of
the Qur an by exploring the life of the prophet Muhammad and grasping the important message and
tone that is held within the book.
Muhammad Abdullah, was the founder of the religion of Islam, and is considered by Muslims to be
the last Islamic prophet of God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His dedication to spread the message of God was phenomenal and he did not give up despite his harsh
treatment. Muhammad received some good news from the city of Yathrib. The city was in need of a
leader and pledged to obey and worship Allah alone and defend him to the death. Muhammad and his
loyal followers fled to Yathrib and left the city of Mecca. Yathrib was later renamed Medinat al Nabi,
the City of the Prophet, and is now known as Medina, the City. Muhammad died in 632, having
conquered all of Arabia for Islam.
He was loved and highly respected by man Muslims. His battle for peace never ended and his message
from God continues to spread present day.
The Qur an was written over a period of twenty three years beginning on December 22 609 CE, and
concluding in 632. Muslims claim that Muhammad spoke the whole Quran to his followers and many
of them memorized the verses word by word and later wrote it down. The Qur an was divided into 114
chapters, called surah(s). These chapters are arranged according to length, which vary from 3 to 286
verses. The chapters of the Qur an also have a title that comes from a word that is written within the
text. However, some titles are not linked to the subject matter in each surah. The titles have names
such as The Cow (Surah 2), Noah (Surah 71), and The Most High (Surah 87). Each Sura contains an
important message for the people of Islam. Most Muslims claims

Genre Analysis Example
Essay #3 Genre Analysis The main focus of the Problem Solution essay is to analyze different topics
related to the subject of image in Asian American studies. This essays aims to go more in depth about
the problems that surround the subject of image and then creating a solution to these issues. In order to
get to a solution one must first come up with a method that includes thinking of a topic that is closely
related to the subject of image, present said topic to the professor, compose an outline for a rough draft
and eventually a final draft. This process will ultimately allow the student to further evaluate and
resolve other issue in Asian American studies. While the reader of the essay better understands the
problems that writing can have, the writer also presents and realizes how genre can cause different

Beyond the limitations of the actual assignment, the overall prompt presents restrictions in that the
meaning of vocabulary like Thesis and Body Paragraph require prior knowledge and exposure to the

the assignment sheet like Takaki s strategy and the Paper Structure handout, present problems when
people outside of the peers and the instructor read this essay. The requirements call for the student to
turn in other assignments with the actual final draft, which may enhance the understanding of the
finished piece. In turning in these several other pieces will show how, ultimately, the academic writing
process takes numerous steps. The finished piece is the result of many different steps of the writing

Candida Infection
Dr. Tullio Simoncini conducted research on Candida and cancer and found that 79 to 97 percent of all
cancer patients also have Candida infection. Now here s the rationale behind this whole dubious idea:
Dr. Simoncini s explanation how Candida is linked to cancer: 1.Candida roots itself in your deep
connective tissue in various organs. 2.As a result, this evokes an organic defensive reaction as the
connective tissue of your invaded organ attempts to encyst the fungin colonies through cellular hyper
production, which results in the formation of tumors 3.Growths continue as the fungi spreads, both in
your surrounding tissue, and remotely (aka metastatis ). It is still always the same Candida attacking
different tissues, but due to its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Standardized Testing Has Made A Huge Impact Not Only On...
Standardized testing has made a huge impact not only on our educational system, it has also had a
negative impact on certain groups of students. One of the groups of students that have been affected
by standardized testing the most are English Language Learners (ELL). ELL s are expected to take
and pass a test that they are not able to read and understand. It is not fair to make students take a test
in a language that they are still learning and will not be able to comprehend. Although there are
modified tests for ELL s to take hardly any of them can qualify for it. They are left taking a test they
are not able to understand. Different accommodations should be made to help the ELL s who do not
qualify for the modified test, but are also not qualified to take the regular test. The No Child Left
Behind Act (NCLB) was implemented in an effort to help students learn and meet their full potential
academically. The NCLB was put into place by the government to have more of an input in the
standards that schools must meet. The Common Core initiative was implemented to make schools in
every state equal and have the same curriculum. Texas is one of the states that has decided not to
adhere to the Common Core initiative. Texas s standards are based on Texas Essential Knowledge and
Skills (TEKS). Standardized tests are the formal assessments schools use to make sure students are
meeting the required state standards. The standardized test that Texas uses for assessment is called the

Orting, Washington Essay
The town of Orting is built in the valley of Mount Rainer in western Washington. Located 30 miles
from the volcano, Orting is built upon deposits of 500 year old lahar erupted from the volcano. Mount
Rainier is an active stratovolcano of andesitic rock, located along the convergent plate boundary
where the North American Plate and the Pacific Plate meet. Mount Rainier is the most prominent
mountain in the contiguous United States and is approximately 500,000 years old (The Cardinal).
Although Mount Rainier is considered to be an active volcano because of its lahar flow, it is currently
in resting state. The last eruption of this massive volcano occurred more than 115 years ago in 1884.

Seismometers and tilt meters are also used to detect volcanic activity and give advanced warning in
the Cascade Range. The Bride4Kids campaign is another measure that has been taken in order to keep
the people of the Orting community safe. The bridge connects Orting to the Cascadian Plateau which
allows children to quickly move from a place of caution to safer land. The Bridge4Kids also aims to
educate people on how to remain safe during a mudslide. Protecting Mount Rainier and the
surrounding wildlife in the Cascade Range is Mount Rainier National Park. The Park was established
on March 2, 1899 and was the 5th National Park in the United States (National Park Service U.S. Dept
of Interior). This National park attracts 1.3 million visitors annually seeking adventure in its natural
beauty. The park offers backpacking, camping, nature trails, fishing, and horseback riding, snow
skiing, and climbing. Approximately 10,000 visitors attempt to reach the peak of Mount Rainier every
year. The National Park also has waterfalls, subalpine wildflower meadows, and 26 beautiful glaciers.
Although Orting, Washington has numerous geological hazards because of its location so near to
Mount Rainier, it is a wonderful town that is perfect for young people and families. It has the
convenience of a city, being only 35 miles outside of Seattle, and it has the comfort of a small town

Canibao, Garcia Ayuso and Rueda (1999) examined accounting data taken from Spanish companies,
showing that the joint explanatory power of earnings and book values has not declined in the latest
decades. However, their results demonstrated a slight decline in the marginal explanatory power of
book values in relation to earnings. The usefulness of accounting data in business evaluation was,
also, evidenced by Ou and Penman (1989), Ohlson (1989, 1995) and Penman (1996). They explained
a company s internal value by using accounting parameters and concluded that they can be used to
identify stocks that have not been properly evaluated. Τhey, also, expressed the view that the book
value and earnings form the primary accounting variables which are used to interpret stock prices.
Their findings are, also, supported by the empirical studies conducted by Lev (1996) and Francis and
Schipper (1996), who examined data from the US market during the latest decades. They have, also,
found that the explanatory power of accounting variables has declined. On the other hand, Collins,
Maydew and Weiss (1997) have expressed the opinion that the combined relevance of earnings and
book values is progressively increasing over time. On the contrary, the relevance of extraordinary

Cultural Development And Human Development
Evolutionary importance of Culture as a Hominin Adaptation Human beings have reached the epitome
of civilization, technological advancement and coexistence through cultural evolution. They have been
able to learn new trades over time that have improved societies and sharpened skills that are passed
down from generation to generation. The abilities that humans utilize to improve their social lives
have evolved from the very early times of the hominids. Cultural behavior grew extensively from the
era of the homo habilis and the homo rudolfensis. Hominids recognized the importance of adaptation
and organization as a means of survival. The skills and tools developed did not depend on intelligence
but rather improved social organization. Survival required a coordinated approach where information
could be shared amongst hominids with a similar cultural behavior. They required a means of being
able to alter their environments rather than adjusting their bodily functions, which was provided by
culture (Bruner 2004). Culture was able to prove vital to hominin adaptation through gaining ability to
plan, territorial organization and development of practices such as monogamy that facilitated its
existence. One way in which cultural importance aided hominids is through isolation from groups with
different behaviors like the Australopithecus and connecting with those that did. The early man had
begun associating itself with groups that showed similarity such as hunting style. Groups

Babbi Yar Massacre Research Paper
Did you know that the Nazis tried to hide the clues that they killed thousands of people? On
September 29 and 30, 1941 the Nazis killed around 30,000 Jews. This massacre was called the Babi
Yar Massacre, which took the lives of innocent people. The Massacre was designed to kill thousands
of Jews and they would never forget this destructive event until they died.
Jews were innocent people trying to live their lives like everyone else was. They departed Kiev before
they were Germany s community so they could find a more desirable place to live. They had to escape
Kiev to have a quality life. If they were caught escaping there would be dire consequences. Their lives
were extremely unjustifiable. Whenever there were explosions at the German headquarters, they
blamed the Jews for the explosions. They were innocent and they got blamed for something that they
didn t do. The Jews had a terrible, wistful, and remarkable life. They were obligated to follow the
Nazis rules.

Personal Information And Network Security
Personal information and network security is vital in today s online environment. There are my people
that are out there to get someone s personal information in order to either to seal the personal
information for financial gain or in some cases personal harassment. Ensuring that your equipment
and settings are kept to a degree that works well for your usage can minimize these types of attacks.
Settings can be found at multiple layers of a home network that includes the computer right from the
box, its system settings, user accounts, passwords, the home network security and accounts that may

connecting to a network, most of the setup is automated and synchronizes with your existing Apple
ID. If you do not have an Apple ID, you can skip the step or create one at that time. If you are using a
MAC product, it is highly recommended that you have an Apple account. It is used to log into the

Employees have expressed concern that the firm has not been able to budget its expenses or provide
accurate paperwork, which is essential to generate financial reports to give the firm better
understanding of its standing in the market place.
Another concern is low employee morale within the company. Mistakes have been made with regards
to employee compensation and distribution of responsibilities. As a result, New World is finding it
difficult to retain its employees, which in turn are taking away from the edge that the company has of
being one of the first companies to move into the sector of medical technology.
Suggested Changed to address these concerns:
The following report looks at these concerns in detail and also tries to make certain recommendations
that can be considered to change the management style of the company such as appropriate allocation
of responsibilities and creating a capital budget for the company.
There may also be a need to research other contracts in the market place. New World Computing may
have to prioritize projects to ensure timely delivery of the major projects to bring in the necessary cash
flows.
The report also tries to suggest ways to finance the company such as the use of an Angel Investor or a
Venture Capitalist to provide the working capital required to continue operations.
Creation of a long term Business Plan:
Finally, the report seeks to incorporate certain practices and lay the foundation

Differences And Disadvantages Of Standardization Vs....
2.3.1 Standardization vs. customization On one hand, standardization represents a way of reducing the
costs, increasing productivity, lowering the prices and systemizing innovations so that they can be
reproduced (Sundbo, 1996; Gallouj, 1994; Sundbo 1998, cited in Sundbo, 2002). Customization on
the other hand, increases the customer satisfaction ensuring the perceived quality, creates
opportunities for rising the price. Furthermore it enables innovation to take place near the customer,
which offers a great possibility to succeed on the market. The traditional economic theory highlights
productivity gains as being the essence of any economic activity, implying economies of scale and
cost reduction, while the theories of service development stress the importance of customer care in
service activities, not reducing the costs (Normann, 1991; Gronroos 1990, cited Sundbo, 2002).
Standardization can be described as an economy of productivity, where prices and quantities are the

the costs and the customer is satisfied because he feels he receives an individual service (Sundbo,

The Battle Of The Soldiers
The three Soldiers were able to make it to the coast, they had taken a route that took them around the
Marines and 82nd Airborne, while making note of their numbers, vehicles and weapons. They were
surprised to find them there, with Second Brigade no place in sight. They entered Baltimore from the
north and headed South East, they found much of the city sparse with life, they had found some
civilians that had told them of the Supreme General and her Army and how they were defeated. The
Soldiers again, found themselves surprised, they were told stories of fighter aircraft coming out of
nowhere, and destroying the main base. They were also told of the mighty shells that came in and
destroyed the Supreme Generals compound. Following the aircraft and shells came the Marines,
fighting anyone that stood in their way, taking back the city. The people they spoke with told them not
to get them wrong, they were happy with the actions of the Marines, they cleared out most of the
gangs or ran them off. Life had been easier and safer since they came. They also told the three
Soldiers that several hundred Marines remained in the city and were securing the port and refineries.
That the Marines were being supplemented by the Army, they thought they heard the 82nd Airborne
out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It was all so incredible, than they were told of the ships off the
coast, one was an aircraft carrier, which the Soldiers found hard to believe. The civilians told them

A. Sample Used
Sample Used: Siling Labuyo (Capsicum frutesceus)
B. Procedure 1. Column Chromatography The pigments of the red siling labuyo were extracted using
DCM hexane (1:1). Portions of the extracts were set a side for Thin Layer Chromatography. In
preparing the column chromatography set up, the column was plugged with cotton and uniformly
packed with silica gel up to the intended part of the dropping pipette. 0.5 mL of the extract was then
placed on top of the column using a pipette. The pigment mixture was eluted using 10 mL of DCM
hexane (1:1) and afterwards introduced in portions. The members were instructed not to allow the
column to run dry. The colorless eluates were discarded while the colored eluates were collected in
separate test tubes. The number of drops of the eluate collected in each test tube was noted.

The Main Factors Of The Democratic Breakdowns And Which...
To explain the different approaches to the democratic breakdowns and which are the factors that
enlighten this phenomenon it is been highly important in the comparative literature, because it allows
us to observe and give reasons about the different process of the countries in their political
development. One of the question that we must answer for this week reading is: One of the classic
accounts of democratic breakdown, by Juan Linz, argues that Breakdown is the result of processes
initiated by the government s incapacity to solve problems for which the disloyal oppositions offer
themselves as a solution. Based on this week s readings and your knowledge of cases, do you agree?

This is the main reason why the people start to create private association activities to find solutions to
the issues that the state cannot resolve (Berman, 1997). I think this I the central reason why the
Weimar Republic fails, with a weak government the civil society was forced to developed itself for
achieving particular wellbeing, the state was the organization which does not create the conditions to
work united. I think this argument is more coherent because includes the economic influences. If the
economy is weak in a country is related to decisions made by the government. Even though we live in
a time where the idea of free market and capitalism is highly applied by states, it is also truth that the
states have an influential role in the economy, choosing policies that improve or decrease their
economic growth. Even further, institutions are created to reduce uncertainty by stablishing a stable
(but not necessarily efficient) structure to human interaction (North, 1990, p. 6), thus economic
interaction is also a kind of behavior that must be regulated by the state through institutions which are
the humanly devised constraints (North, 1990, p.3), thus if they are not working correctly in the
economic, social, political realm is more likely to have a democracy breakdown. I think in this
direction we must to understand the argument of Slater, Smith Nair (2014) remark that the

The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard Essay
In Tom Stoppard s skilfully delineated play, The Real Inspector Hound, he seeks to merely parody the
traditional crime fiction genre. The play does not criticise or parody at the expense of the genre but it
is simply poking affectionate fun at it. Stoppard identifies the classic techniques used in crime fiction
and exaggerates it to such an extent that it causes the audience to laugh at the ludicrousness of the
genre. He parodies the typical layout and the archetypal characters used in traditional crime fiction
stories. Stoppard adds to the amusement of the play through the use of parallel plots that absurdly and
unpredictably merge, creating a classic yet twisted denouement. The Real Inspector Hound is a play
that cleverly fulfils all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wittily named character, Mrs Drudge is the first to enter on stage and takes on the archetypal
domestic character in traditional crime fiction. She does this by keeping a watchful eye on all of the
characters and giving useful information to the detective nearing the big reveal of the murderer. Mrs
Drudge fulfils and exaggerates this role perfectly, saying things such as I chanced to overhear a
remark... (pg. 45) and I also happened to be in earshot of a remark... (pg. 46) nearing the denouement.
Simon Gascoyne is the classic red herring character who causes the audience to think he is the
murderer as he has suspiciously appeared in the neighbourhood from nowhere (pg. 41) and as all the
characters despise him. Cynthia or Lady Muldoon represents the Grande Dame type character who is
typically depicted as an upper class socialite often linking all the characters together. Felicity
Cunningham is the typical femme fatale type character who is both seductive as well as cunning. She
often comes up with snide remarks such as Yes, Simon is an old friend, though not as old as you,
Cynthia dear. (pg. 24). Major Magnus takes on the role of the mysterious military bound relative as
described by Mrs Drudge, the crippled half brother of Lord Muldoon who turned up out of the blue...

Descriptive Essay On A Christmas Walker
The other day my mom came home from the store with the usual armful of cardboard bags. However,
there was something very different about one bag that separated it from all of the others. My mom
asked me to unload the items and organize them into their awaiting shelves. Their contents contained
typical groceries such as cereal, some new herbal teas, and a fresh bottle of dish detergent. But, this
special bag carried a large Yankee candle encased in glass and embellished with a large sticker reading
Christmas Cookie . On the label a petite tree shaped sugar cookie sat on a plate. Immediately, I smiled
because cookie scented candles are my absolute favorite. I rushed to the second drawer of the kitchen
island and pulled out the lighter and instantaneously ignited the wick. As I watched the flame blossom
with satisfaction, I was suddenly punched in the face by nostalgia. The warm, comforting and sweet
smell of that candle had somehow transported me back to christmas a few years ago. I was a joyful,
little third grader. My family and I lived in Reno and to everyone s surprise, there was a fair amount of
snow carpeting the ground. It was Christmas Eve and with the glorious day of Christmas right around
the corner I could hardly stand the anticipation. My mom prepared for the night by lighting the
Christmas Cookie candle and bringing out large boxes full of decorations waiting to be put on display.
Like every other Christmas Eve, we filled the night with classic Christmas

Drug Use Problem
Society s Current Problem with Drug Use There is an increase in drug use in the United States and
across the world. This comes from simple supply and demand economics. There will be always a need
to have drugs in society; drugs have been around for thousands of years to help people ease the pain of
what ails them. The effects of drugs and feeling of euphoria they produce when taking them makes it
easy for drugs to be overused. The indigenous population of America (Indians) had been using drugs
for years prior to Christopher Columbus landing in America (Maisto, Galizio, Connors, 2015, p. 26).
For years, the United States did not have any laws about drug use. They sold opiates in markets just
like bread and milk.

Again, I believe this has to do with economics. Since the recent legalization of marijuana use in a few
states, this has increased the need for it. With the decriminalization of marijuana in these states, it has
allowed people who were not previous users to try marijuana for the first time. In some cases, this has
led to more recreational users of it. This will continue to increase as more and more states legalize the
sale and use of marijuana for recreational use. It is also important to note that even thought there has
been an increase of marijuana use in the United States, there has been an exponential decrease in the
use of tobacco use over that last 10 years. I believe this has to do with all of the legal restrictions
placed on the tobacco industries in terms of packaging, advertising, the sale of tobacco products, and
other alternatives to smoking

Abstract The following Human Resource Management Plan is an overview of Texoma Medical Center
s HR department with a series of critiques and plans for possible future planning. It has been written in
order to provide both perspective of what already exists and what changes could be made. Included in
the following is an overview of possible staffing, recruitment, development, and compensation
information for the Texoma Medical Center.
Texoma Medical Center Human Resource Management Plan
I. Organizational Assessment of the HR Department
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis is a useful technique for
understanding the organization s strengths and weaknesses and for identifying both the opportunities
open to the organization and the threats it faces (Manktelow, 2015). A human resources SWOT
analysis considers internal and external factors that can either boost or impede the human resources
functions within your organization (Goodrich, 2015). The following is a SWOT analysis of the human
resources department of Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. (See Appendix A)
Strengths
Organizational strengths are internal factors that enable HR strategy and functionality (Manktelow,
2015). Texoma Medical Center (TMC) has long been established in the Texoma area. In December of

Advantages Of Dentists
A severe shortage of dentists has hit rural America leaving millions of people stranded in a dental
desert. Individuals who are low income, older adults, minorities, or those with special needs often
have a harder time accessing dental care. Rural areas of the country are more likely to have poorer
residents who are without dental insurance. These citizens must travel long distances to seek out a
dentist. Accessing adequate dental care has become a major health concern in the United States,
leaving many with tooth decay and other serious health concerns. In order to fix the broken system of
oral health care the government, states, and private sector need to come together and create new funds
for dental programs. States should consider adopting dental therapists or dental practitioners as a way
to provide general care to those living in dental deserts. The American Dental Hygienists Association
(ADHA) has created a task force on the Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner (ADHP) and with the
approval from the ADHA House of Delegates, has established a scope of practice and educational
guidelines for those pursing this profession. ADHP s are a viable solution for rural communities facing
oral health barriers. These practitioners provide basic procedures and assist with prevention of tooth
decay by providing education on effective brushing habits. Rural areas of the country need dental
therapists and advanced dental hygiene practitioners because they will save lives, reduce

Japanese Art
And the Philosophy of Wabi Sabi
Japanese art is very simplistic and understated. There are many different forms of ancient Japanese art:
pottery, calligraphy, sculpture, ink paintings, origami and many more. Decorated clay vessels are the
very earliest art forms discovered from around 11,000 to 300 B.C. When Buddhism came to Japan, it
also began to have an impact on the art. Even though Japan is an island and was isolated both
physically, geographically, as well as culturally its art was influenced by the Chinese and Korean
cultures, which the Japanese would use in ways that fit their own culture. A major influence on the art

Tips on Looking for the Best Tactical Flashlight
h3 Streamlight 69260 TLR 1 HL High Lumen Rail Mounted Tactical Light /h3
The Streamlight 69260 TLR 1 HL Rail Mounted Tactical Light is a compact and lightweight flashlight
that fits easily on many different firearms, but it may be the best tactical flashlight choice for those
with handguns due to its small size and weight. This particular light is made of anodized aircraft
aluminum, which allows it to be both light weight and very durable.
This tactical flashlight is praised for its extremely high brightness, allowing it to easily cut through
even the harshest of darkness in emergency situations. This brightness is achieved through the use of
numerous powerful LED lights that deliver 630 lumens of light, which is more than bright enough to
blind or stun enemies if needed.
Traditional batteries are the power source of choice for the Streamlight 69260, and the average battery
life is about and hour and 15 minutes of continuous use.
While there are many benefits to this light, you should always keep the negatives in mind when
searching for the best tactical flashlight. The most common complaint is that, despite the fact that
LED lights run cooler than incandescent bulbs, the light gets incredibly hot when active for more than
a few minutes. The heat is also not contained to the glass or front of the light. The entire unit heats up
extremely quickly. This may not seem like a major problem since the light is not meant to be hand
held, but users could end up burning their

There are many different changes that happened to me in the past 5 years. Such changes change the
way of how I live and what happens to my life. Changes happen as you grow up, and there are many
factors that induce changes, whether it is from daily habits, social interactions, influence from parents,
and many more. In my case, I have probably changed the most due to social influence and the
environment around me. One of my most noticeable changes I the way I think. From what I have
noticed, the me of 5 years ago has a rather more close minded self, compared to the me of today. I
tend to do things in an impulsive manner without thinking much about what is going to do to others.
The second biggest change is probably my way of life and appearance.

After reviewing the lesson and what exactly took place throughout the lesson, it is safe to say that
learning occurred. This lesson was focused on taking knowledge from previous years as well as the
previous lesson I implemented and putting it to use. The students were given a range of materials to
create their own graph. They had to create their data as well that goes along with the desired graph that
they planned to create. Due to the fact that the writing aspect was taken out due to time constrictions,
the students in place, had to come up with 5 questions about their graph that their classmates could
answer. When the students presented their graphs and questions, each student was able to successfully
answer their classmates questions about their graphs. All was labeled and designed on their graphs
correctly. This lesson was cut very short, so going off of the graphs and questions the students turned
in as well as the discussion the students engaged in, I feel as if learning definitely occurred. When
looking back at the objectives I had designed for this lesson plan, be able to choose the right graph
that will best represent your data including bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs and picture graphs as

Our group decided to choose how to clean a Heckler Lock USP handgun as our topic for the technical
documentation. For this assignment, we all agreed on making an instruction for this topic. Actually,
we had two guns to give instruct at first, one gun was rifle and one gun was handgun. During the
process, we changed the topic only to the handgun because it was more able to give a detail instruction
for a specific gun. We chose this topic because this topic would help people to become more educated
on handgun maintenance. With many people who own guns, it was very essential if they do not know
how to maintain the guns.
With regarded to that, our audience members were those who would like to learn how to clean a gun
or those that had a gun but do not know how to clean it... Our context of use for this technical
documentation was focus on using the basics technical of a handgun to instruct the audience knew

Kantian Views On War
While readings from Thucydides, Aristotle, and Machiavelli provide unique insight in the way war is
justified in early civil society, the introduction of globalization into international relations leads us to
ask if early theories regarding war and justice are still relevant to new and complex power
relationships. For the purpose of creating practical connections, I intend to look at several possible jus
in bello applications of two contemporary military technologies: nuclear weapons and drones
(otherwise known as Unmanned Armed Vehicles). There are many cases of emerging military
technologies that raise valuable question in regards to just acts of war, but I chose these two in
particular because of they provide two seemingly opposing perspectives ... Show more content on

In Perpetual Peace, Kant supplies firstly that the suspension of hostilities does not supply the security
of peace, and unless this security is pledged... the latter... can treat the former as an enemy (111). He
then supplies that nations never have a right to war and that without a contract among nations peace
can be neither inaugurated nor guaranteed (117). The argument that the suspension of hostilities does
not create long term peace is not one that I intend to invalidate, but the case of nuclear weapons does
provide an example of its suspended use having acted as an effective deterrent for military conflict
(while still, admittedly, allowing for tension and ideological conflicts). The Cold War and the concept
of Mutually Assured Destruction between the US and the USSR forces us to consider the ways that
nuclear weapons could potentially create extended periods of peace simply due to the notion that
nuclear weapons might have symbolic power beyond the kinds of hostilities that Kant imagined. Kant
described here a league of peace that ensured peaceful actions among nations, and while such leagues
have and do exist now, we have not reached an era of global peace. This is what makes the ideology of
nuclear peace so compelling towards a Kantian perspective: the argument that the concept of Mutually
Assured Destruction can create international stability in the face of major ideological conflicts does
not ignore existing hostile sentiments but it does give the concept of perpetual peace substance and
practicality that existing international leagues cannot always provide. Such a theory, however, while
compelling, is ultimately flawed in that it assumes that all

The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack
Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got up
bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As we were
leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as usual. My little
sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we got carried away. My
father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing railroad lights ahead. By the
time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the tracks. The slippery snow on the
ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then everything went black. When I woke
up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple. Within seconds of my eyes being opened,
nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and
right leg were covered under a cast, and I had a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a
blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you

Child Protective Service And Mental Health Problems Essay
Introduction Being able to cope within a family is very important. Family members can cause great
strain on each other, especially, when individuals of such family suffer from mental health problems
and disability. After reading Andrea s case study, it is very clear that this family has a lot going on. A
mother and father who are both unemployed as mom suffers from anxiety and depression, which have
led her to be hospitalized a few times due to attempting suicide and dad who is now 33 years old and
had an accident at the age of 14 which left him with only one good functioning hand. They raise a son
by the name of Vincent, who is now 9 years old, however, he is autistic and also suffers from chronic
asthma. Andrea has custody of Vincent furthermore, she is unable to care for him because of her
illness and with her many visits to the hospital which have caused her to become hospitalized. This
has left an impression on child protective service as they feel she is an unfit mother because she is
unable to control her illness. Even though Andrea loves her son dearly, she is aware that with her
conditions she might not be able to care for him, even though Vincent was so attached to her. Vincent
was eventually taken from her and place with The Department of Child Protection in order to ensure
his safety. One theory I believe can be useful within this case study is Family Systems Theory. This
theory helps families to understand the root of their problem rather than blaming the issue

Three Types of Friends Essay examples
Through my experiences I have come to realize that there are basically three types of friends a person
can have. There are friends that I call sometimes friends, these people appear to be your friend but
only when you are face to face with them, and when you are not around them they act more like a foe.
They are often referred to as two faced or a back stabber. These types of friends are not very reliable
nor should they be trusted. Another type of friend a person can have, and the best kind, is a true friend.
A true friend is someone you know you can always trust and rely on no matter what. The last type of
friend is the acquaintance . These are the type of friends that you do not necessarily hate, but at the

These people are not very reliable and should not be trusted with things of a personal matter or with
things of great importance. You should confront this person and let them know how you are feeling
about the way they are treating you. Let them know how things look from your point of view. If they
are a true friend they will try to correct their ways and start acting like a real friend would act. If they
do not change their ways and they continue to take advantage of you, it would probably be smart of
you not to associate with them anymore. An acquaintance friend is someone who you will usually
encounter every so often for business needs or for some other reason. You most likely are on good
terms with these people, but they are not considered close friends whom you would talk to about
personal problems. They could be someone at the grocery store where you shop at, the place where
you work, the barber shop or salon where you get your hair cut, or maybe the convenience store where
you get gas at. They usually seem as if they are good people and friendly. The acquaintance friend has
the potential to become somewhat closer over time if there are enough meetings between the two of
you. Most friends that people say are good friends were just an acquaintance at some point in time, but
became closer as they got to know each other better. Last,

This is an issue that has become to be expected in both collegiate and professional sports
(Anonymous, 36 37). It may not be thought about much but there are some racial games that are

hired because they actually get a chance to get an interview, many still see it as just a rule put into
place to make it seem like everything is equal and to save face from scrutiny about racial issues in
sport. In 2003, Mike Millen the president of the Detroit Lions was fined for not interviewing a
minority. He was not fined for intentionally not interviewing minority coaches, he actually contacted
five different minority coaches and each of them turned the request for an interview down. Each of
them felt like the job was already Steve Mariucci and felt like they were just being interviewed just so
that the Detroit Lions could fill their obligation to interview a minority coach. The problem not only
lies with collegiate and professional sports organizations and the issue of not interviewing and hiring

The act of revenge means to avenge oneself or another by retaliating in kind or degree. Many people
seek revenge for a variety of different reasons. While some situations warrant vengeance, other times
it is unnecessary or goes too far. Every person is not the same, so it varies from person to person what
initiates the desire for revenge. In The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, Fortunato wrongs his

Morsberger states, To accomplish it, Montresor waits until carnival season, a time of supreme
madness, when Fortunato, already half drunk and costumed as a jester, is particularly vulnerable (1).
After convincing Fortunato to come back his vault, Montresor does not stop him from drinking.
Montresor continues to encourage Fortunato to drink more as they are walking through the catacombs.
This continues to happen as they approach the vault. Montresor encourages Fortunato by saying, But
first, another draught of the Medoc (Poe 53). Fortunato s drunkenness allows Montresor to manipulate
him easily as he has no indication of what is happening. Without being under the influence, Montresor
knows his task would be much more difficult. By getting him drunk, Montresor is able to get him to

Fortunato has been condemned, by Montresor, to be bricked up in the dank vaults of a crumbling

Beauty In Marigolds, By Eugenia Collier
In the short story, Marigolds, by Eugenia Collier, the theme that is shown through the story is, Beauty
can be found even in the darkest times. An example of this theme is represented through Lizabeth s
thoughts after she tears apart Miss Lottie s marigolds. As Miss Lottie looms over Lizabeth, she thinks,
The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the
midst of ugliness and sterility. She had been born in squalor and lived in it all her life (Collier 223).
This shows Lizabeth s realization that the witch she had known for all her childhood years was simply
a woman who wanted to create beauty through her wretched condition. From this, Lizabeth feels

The marigolds symbolizes beauty throughout the story. The time period of the story was during the
Great Depression, from 1929 39, and as the text describes it, The Depression that gripped the nation
was no new thing to us, for the black workers of rural Maryland had always been depressed (Collier
214). This represents how life must ve been during the time, with every man and women depressed
and silent. However, Lizabeth still remembers, through all the bland memories of brown dust, the
vivid memory of Miss Lottie s marigolds. She recalls the marigolds as, ...a brilliant splash of sunny

The Qur an was written over a period of twenty three years beginning on December 22 609 CE, and concluding in 632. Muslims claim that Muhammad spoke the whole Quran to his followers and many of them memorized the verses word by word and later wrote it down. The Qur an was divided into 114 chapters, called surah(s). These chapters are arranged according to length, which vary from 3 to 286 verses. The chapters of the Qur an also have a title that comes from a word that is written within the text. However, some titles are not linked to the subject matter in each surah. Standardized testing has made a huge impact not only on our educational system, it has also had a negative impact on certain groups of students. One of the groups of students that have been affected by standardized testing the most are English Language Learners (ELL). ELL s are expected to take and pass a test that they are not able to read and understand. The usefulness of accounting data in business evaluation was, also, evidenced by Ou and Penman (1989), Ohlson (1989, 1995) and Penman (1996). • 8. Cultural Development And Human Development Evolutionary importance of Culture as a Hominin Adaptation Human beings have reached the epitome of civilization, technological advancement and coexistence through cultural evolution. They have been able to learn new trades over time that have improved societies and sharpened skills that are passed down from generation to generation. The abilities that humans utilize to improve their social lives have evolved from the very early times of the hominids. Cultural behavior grew extensively from the era of the homo habilis and the homo rudolfensis. Hominids recognized the importance of adaptation and organization as a means of survival. The skills and tools developed did not depend on intelligence but rather improved social organization. Survival required a coordinated approach where information could be shared amongst hominids with a similar cultural behavior. They required a means of being able to alter their environments rather than adjusting their bodily functions, which was provided by culture (Bruner 2004). Culture was able to prove vital to hominin adaptation through gaining ability to plan, territorial organization and development of practices such as monogamy that facilitated its existence. One way in which cultural importance aided hominids is through isolation from groups with different behaviors like the Australopithecus and connecting with those that did. The early man had begun associating itself with groups that showed similarity such as hunting style. Groups ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Differences And Disadvantages Of Standardization Vs.... 2.3.1 Standardization vs. customization On one hand, standardization represents a way of reducing the costs, increasing productivity, lowering the prices and systemizing innovations so that they can be reproduced (Sundbo, 1996; Gallouj, 1994; Sundbo 1998, cited in Sundbo, 2002). Customization on the other hand, increases the customer satisfaction ensuring the perceived quality, creates opportunities for rising the price. Furthermore it enables innovation to take place near the customer, which offers a great possibility to succeed on the market. The traditional economic theory highlights productivity gains as being the essence of any economic activity, implying economies of scale and cost reduction, while the theories of service development stress the importance of customer care in service activities, not reducing the costs (Normann, 1991; Gronroos 1990, cited Sundbo, 2002). This brightness is achieved through the use of numerous powerful LED lights that deliver 630 lumens of light, which is more than bright enough to blind or stun enemies if needed. Traditional batteries are the power source of choice for the Streamlight 69260, and the average battery life is about and hour and 15 minutes of continuous use. While there are many benefits to this light, you should always keep the negatives in mind when searching for the best tactical flashlight. The most common complaint is that, despite the fact that LED lights run cooler than incandescent bulbs, the light gets incredibly hot when active for more than a few minutes. The heat is also not contained to the glass or front of the light. The entire unit heats up extremely quickly. This may not seem like a major problem since the light is not meant to be hand held, but users could end up burning their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Five Years Ago Research Paper There are many different changes that happened to me in the past 5 years. Such changes change the way of how I live and what happens to my life. Changes happen as you grow up, and there are many factors that induce changes, whether it is from daily habits, social interactions, influence from parents, and many more. In my case, I have probably changed the most due to social influence and the environment around me. One of my most noticeable changes I the way I think. From what I have noticed, the me of 5 years ago has a rather more close minded self, compared to the me of today. I tend to do things in an impulsive manner without thinking much about what is going to do to others. The second biggest change is probably my way of life and appearance. ... • 30. Lesson And What Exactly Took Place Throughout The Lesson After reviewing the lesson and what exactly took place throughout the lesson, it is safe to say that learning occurred. This lesson was focused on taking knowledge from previous years as well as the previous lesson I implemented and putting it to use. The students were given a range of materials to create their own graph. They had to create their data as well that goes along with the desired graph that they planned to create. Due to the fact that the writing aspect was taken out due to time constrictions, the students in place, had to come up with 5 questions about their graph that their classmates could answer. When the students presented their graphs and questions, each student was able to successfully answer their classmates questions about their graphs. All was labeled and designed on their graphs correctly. This lesson was cut very short, so going off of the graphs and questions the students turned in as well as the discussion the students engaged in, I feel as if learning definitely occurred. When looking back at the objectives I had designed for this lesson plan, be able to choose the right graph that will best represent your data including bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs and picture graphs as well as to be able to explain the graph that you created and the questions that you have created that go along with your created graph I feel as if they were clearly met by all 6 students. During the process, we changed the topic only to the handgun because it was more able to give a detail instruction for a specific gun. We chose this topic because this topic would help people to become more educated on handgun maintenance. With many people who own guns, it was very essential if they do not know how to maintain the guns. With regarded to that, our audience members were those who would like to learn how to clean a gun or those that had a gun but do not know how to clean it... • 32. Kantian Views On War While readings from Thucydides, Aristotle, and Machiavelli provide unique insight in the way war is justified in early civil society, the introduction of globalization into international relations leads us to ask if early theories regarding war and justice are still relevant to new and complex power relationships. For the purpose of creating practical connections, I intend to look at several possible jus in bello applications of two contemporary military technologies: nuclear weapons and drones (otherwise known as Unmanned Armed Vehicles). There are many cases of emerging military technologies that raise valuable question in regards to just acts of war, but I chose these two in particular because of they provide two seemingly opposing perspectives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Perpetual Peace, Kant supplies firstly that the suspension of hostilities does not supply the security of peace, and unless this security is pledged... the latter... can treat the former as an enemy (111). He then supplies that nations never have a right to war and that without a contract among nations peace can be neither inaugurated nor guaranteed (117). The argument that the suspension of hostilities does not create long term peace is not one that I intend to invalidate, but the case of nuclear weapons does provide an example of its suspended use having acted as an effective deterrent for military conflict (while still, admittedly, allowing for tension and ideological conflicts). The Cold War and the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction between the US and the USSR forces us to consider the ways that nuclear weapons could potentially create extended periods of peace simply due to the notion that nuclear weapons might have symbolic power beyond the kinds of hostilities that Kant imagined. Kant described here a league of peace that ensured peaceful actions among nations, and while such leagues have and do exist now, we have not reached an era of global peace. This is what makes the ideology of nuclear peace so compelling towards a Kantian perspective: the argument that the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction can create international stability in the face of major ideological conflicts does not ignore existing hostile sentiments but it does give the concept of perpetual peace substance and practicality that existing international leagues cannot always provide. Such a theory, however, while compelling, is ultimately flawed in that it assumes that all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got up bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As we were leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as usual. My little sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we got carried away. My father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing railroad lights ahead. By the time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the tracks. The slippery snow on the ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then everything went black. When I woke up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple. Within seconds of my eyes being opened, nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and right leg were covered under a cast, and I had a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you remember anything? No, what happened? How long have I been asleep for? Where s my mom? I asked impatiently, almost jumping out of my bed. Settle down, Mallory. • 35. Child Protective Service And Mental Health Problems Essay Introduction Being able to cope within a family is very important. Family members can cause great strain on each other, especially, when individuals of such family suffer from mental health problems and disability. After reading Andrea s case study, it is very clear that this family has a lot going on. A mother and father who are both unemployed as mom suffers from anxiety and depression, which have led her to be hospitalized a few times due to attempting suicide and dad who is now 33 years old and had an accident at the age of 14 which left him with only one good functioning hand. They raise a son by the name of Vincent, who is now 9 years old, however, he is autistic and also suffers from chronic asthma. Andrea has custody of Vincent furthermore, she is unable to care for him because of her illness and with her many visits to the hospital which have caused her to become hospitalized. This has left an impression on child protective service as they feel she is an unfit mother because she is unable to control her illness. Even though Andrea loves her son dearly, she is aware that with her conditions she might not be able to care for him, even though Vincent was so attached to her. Vincent was eventually taken from her and place with The Department of Child Protection in order to ensure his safety. One theory I believe can be useful within this case study is Family Systems Theory. This theory helps families to understand the root of their problem rather than blaming the issue ... • 36. Three Types of Friends Essay examples Through my experiences I have come to realize that there are basically three types of friends a person can have. There are friends that I call sometimes friends, these people appear to be your friend but only when you are face to face with them, and when you are not around them they act more like a foe. They are often referred to as two faced or a back stabber. These types of friends are not very reliable nor should they be trusted. Another type of friend a person can have, and the best kind, is a true friend. A true friend is someone you know you can always trust and rely on no matter what. These people are not very reliable and should not be trusted with things of a personal matter or with things of great importance. You should confront this person and let them know how you are feeling about the way they are treating you. Let them know how things look from your point of view. If they are a true friend they will try to correct their ways and start acting like a real friend would act. If they do not change their ways and they continue to take advantage of you, it would probably be smart of you not to associate with them anymore. An acquaintance friend is someone who you will usually encounter every so often for business needs or for some other reason. You most likely are on good terms with these people, but they are not considered close friends whom you would talk to about personal problems. They could be someone at the grocery store where you shop at, the place where you work, the barber shop or salon where you get your hair cut, or maybe the convenience store where you get gas at. They usually seem as if they are good people and friendly. The acquaintance friend has the potential to become somewhat closer over time if there are enough meetings between the two of you. Most friends that people say are good friends were just an acquaintance at some point in time, but became closer as they got to know each other better. Last, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is an issue that has become to be expected in both collegiate and professional sports (Anonymous, 36 37). It may not be thought about much but there are some racial games that are played. Although the Rooney Rule has at least given minority head coaches a chance to potentially get hired because they actually get a chance to get an interview, many still see it as just a rule put into place to make it seem like everything is equal and to save face from scrutiny about racial issues in sport. In 2003, Mike Millen the president of the Detroit Lions was fined for not interviewing a minority. He was not fined for intentionally not interviewing minority coaches, he actually contacted five different minority coaches and each of them turned the request for an interview down. Each of them felt like the job was already Steve Mariucci and felt like they were just being interviewed just so that the Detroit Lions could fill their obligation to interview a minority coach. The problem not only lies with collegiate and professional sports organizations and the issue of not interviewing and hiring more minority coaches and managers but also stems from this minorities feeling that they don t have a fair shot at the position. Compatibilism And Free Will Yadata Osman Dr. Robinson Survey Philosophical Thought Section 060 11/08/2015 Paper 1 Compatibilists compare free will with freedom of action which is the lack of self control. A determinist, however, would argue and say that people are not free, and therefore are not at fault for their actions. After convincing Fortunato to come back his vault, Montresor does not stop him from drinking. Montresor continues to encourage Fortunato to drink more as they are walking through the catacombs. This continues to happen as they approach the vault. Montresor encourages Fortunato by saying, But first, another draught of the Medoc (Poe 53). Fortunato s drunkenness allows Montresor to manipulate him easily as he has no indication of what is happening. Without being under the influence, Montresor knows his task would be much more difficult. By getting him drunk, Montresor is able to get him to do exactly what he wants. This makes the task of killing him almost effortless for Montresor. When Fortunato goes to search for the stored wine, Montresor suddenly chains him and traps him to the wall. As Miss Lottie looms over Lizabeth, she thinks, The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the midst of ugliness and sterility. She had been born in squalor and lived in it all her life (Collier 223).
