President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR)
President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) is known for his influential pieces of legislation that were
passed and signed into law during America s darkest days of the Great Depression and World War II.
Within the first hundred days of President Roosevelt s first term he signed the New Deal . This New
Deal created government programs to help produce government jobs for the unemployed, help
promote economic growth, and helped regulate the banks and Wall Street. Some of the original New
Deal programs are still in use today such as: the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Social Security. President Roosevelt showed great leadership and
knowledge during our nation s crises.
Born in Hyde Park, New York, in 1882, President Franklin grew up in a wealthy and political family;
his 5th cousin was President Theodore Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt attended Harvard College and
Columbia Law and in 1905 he married Eleanor Roosevelt. Through out his life, FDR became a
political leader within the Democratic Party and served as: New York ... Show more content on

After my father decided to run for Congress I knew that the next year of my life would be nothing like
anything before. I had no idea what to expect or even how to run a political campaign. I did not know
what things would be said about my dad and my family and how time consuming campaigning is
everyday. This fear of not knowing what to expect was very challenging for me; since I like to be in
control of every situation and have every minute of my life planned out. Even though there were many
struggles, mudslinging, and tears everything turned out for the best. I know that if I had not been
thrown into this situation I would have never found my love for politics. When we are worried about
trying something new it is the fear of failure that holds us back from our full potential. I now try to

Difference Between 16th And 17th Century Courtship
The 16th and 17th Century Laws On Love. The 16th and 17th century society had parents connected
to courtships, a very formal courtship, and ending with an Elizabethan Church wedding.. Back in the
16th and 17th century many things were different from how they are today, especially marriage and
courtship. Back then parents had entire control over the courtship. A courtship back in the day looked
very different from anything we have now. In the 16th and 17th century s normal marriage in England
followed the Elizabethan Church wedding rules. Also it s the exact kind of wedding William
Shakespeare had. Today s relationships and marriages are completely different than those of the 16th
and 17th century.
In the 16th and 17th century parents had control over the courtship and marriage of their children.
Parents power over their children related even in courtships. Marriage of the children looked to the
parents as nothing more than a trading of property. Unless the parents die, then the couple s town and
church are in control. The parents have to write a legal contract in order for the first step of their
marriage process to begin. First in the start of the courtship both the man and the woman have to have
property to offer. The parents must have no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Life Of Nicole s Spiritual Journey
Nicole is a 21 year old female, who grew up in the church all of her life. Her parents held very
traditional views, which was reflected in her upbringing. She was dedicated as a baby, she attended
church every Sunday, was baptized at the early age of seven years old, and accepted Christ as the head
of her life and the foundation of her existence. She was active in the church very early on,
participating in Sunday school, the usher board, and singing in the youth choir. Even so, Nicole s
spiritual journey has not been smooth sailing as she has encountered many detours along the way.
Oftentimes turning to secular behaviors and activities, seeking self gratification, not attending church
for years at a time, and ultimately becoming a single unwed mother. Through it all, the highs and the
lows, Nicole is still a devout Christian; on a journey to rededicate her life to Christ, removing
unhealthy people and situations from her life, focusing on God, and fully going after the life that God
intended for her. Over the course of religious and faith development, there will be times that each
individual steps outside of the will of God, as no one is perfect. Through these obstacles and rebellious
acts, God corrects and reforms one s behaviors as the individual draws nearer to him. In this way, faith
development is similar to the social learning theory. The social learning theory deals with
observational learning and how individuals learn through imitating and modeling other s

Portrayal Of Women In Dracula
Bram Stoker s Dracula has been adapted into film version i.e Francis Coppola s Dracula in 1992
which is claim as the faithful adaptation to its literary source. This film contains several scenes
straight from novel; however in representing the main female character is differ. The portrayal of
women in Dracula s novel and Coppola has received a lot critical attention especially the main female
character (Mina Murray). Thus, this ppresent research tries to reveal crucial differences in the
portrayal of Mina Murray. Feminist Literary Criticism Theory is the basis analysis to provide the
general view points of women in novel and film. Besides, the Binary Opposition is applied to clearly
showw the differences between reprentation of Mina. The result shows that Mina s characters is very
contradictory character. She regarded as traditional and modern, powerful and powerless, passive and
active, among other characteristics.

INTRODUCTION Towards the late 19th century, one of predominant concerns was the portrayal and
the role of women they occupied in society. In Victorian era, women depicted as dutiful wife,
powerless; Their role only as a wife and mother in the society. One of literary works from that era that

Legitimization Of Marijuana
Legitimization of Marijuana.
Over the previous decade, there has been much contention over the legalization of marijuana. The
government is unverifiable of its consequences for society when all is said in done, and additionally
on the person. Starting at now, marijuana is illicit in Canada, and just thirteen individuals can smoke it
legitimately. In the prime news on the TV, there is abundant monstrous news of deaths by intemperate
utilization of drugs. Frequently, numerous entertainment stars in Hollywood have been incidentally
slaughtered by unnecessary ingesting of opiates, for instance, Michael Jackson. Moreover, sometimes
in Canada, when most of the organization s contract workers, they are generally inquiries or
medication tests the applicants. Shockingly, the number utilizing marijuana has quickly risen in
contemporary Canadian culture, particularly the young area of Canadians.
Amid talks of authorizing cannabis for people in general, many judges in Canada have permitted
utilizing marijuana in individual medicinal circumstances. For instance, Nichols (2000) communicates
that: In December, 1997, a Toronto judge decided that Parker had an established ideal to utilize
marijuana for medicinal reasons and requested police to return cannabis plants taken from his condo.
Because of that decision, Parker turned into the principal Canadian to win an exception enabling him
to develop and have marijuana .Moreover, it was pivotal that after Parker won the ownership of

Depression Is A Prison Dorothy Rowe Analysis
Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer is a quote by
Dorothy Rowe that describes the struggle I had in my first two years of high school. I was not the
person that I wanted to be. During this time I was isolated and ostracized by my friends. To teenagers
in high school, friends are everything and my friends became nothing like how I thought they would
be. My friends changed and so did my world. I started to slip into a world of darkness. I was so
unhappy that I came to the point of wanting to cease my existence.
My friends became the stereotypical jocks who looked down on people who cared more about grades.

Sherman Antitrust Case Study
As many other students can attest to I was quite young while this case was going on. Now going back
to research this topic sheds a lot of light onto things I did not understand at the time.
The lengthy legal battle began in 1998 when Microsoft was accused of partaking in illegal behavior
that violated many details laid out in the Sherman Antitrust Act. Illegal behavior such as making their
Internet browser a bundle deal with their operating system of their windows computers. The case
would first go to mediation with both sides trying to make a deal so that it would not have to go to
trial but after many close calls to finding a deal it would ultimately fall through causing the case to go
to trial. The trial extended over several years and appeals

School Bleachers Problem
There are many problems in every school worldwide. Some have less problems than others. If my
school received one million dollars, people would be going crazy. Everybody would be running wild
telling everybody there ideas. I have many ideas but there are three main ideas that I would like to
share. New bleachers, less people per classroom, and a restaurant will make a great impact on the
school.
To begin with, I would use part of the money to get new bleachers. The bleachers in my middle school
are made of wood. They are hard and they are not very wide. Each piece of wood has huge screws in
the corners, and everytime I sit down they give me a little shock. When my school has an assembly we
are required to sit on these and sometimes the 6th graders have to sit on the floor. Usually, ... Show

If we had a restaurant in the school we could stay away from so many things. Like, for instance, food
allergies. In this day an age, food allergies are huge. Almost every student has at least one allergy. I do
not have an allergy, but a lot of my friends do. At school they are extra careful about this because they
don t want an ambulance coming to the school and strolling a kid out if they didn t have an epi pen.
So, they take out all the good ingredients. When ever the schools have meats they don t taste real,so
the kids call it mystery meat. Some kids have gluten allergies. One of my friends had a gluten allergy
so bad, it stopped her from growing. Whenever I eat to much gluten I get little bumps on my arms.
The doctor told me to stop eating it, but I just can t help it, I love bread. If we had a gluten free list at
the restaurant it would be wonderful. There could also be comfy chairs instead of the hard ones we
have now. The restaurant could also include dessert. There would be pies, cakes, and all kind of
cookies. Not just chocolate chip. Instead of having a different items every day, we could have a variety
of food on one list every

European Imperialism In British India
The works of Thomas Metcalf, T.W. Roberts, Daniel Headrick, and other notable historians explore
the development of the European imperial project through the use of architecture, technology, and
medicine. These technologies become the machines and driving force of imperialism and are used to
retain control over colonial regions. Headrick argues that these sciences provide the means to the
motives behind the imperialist powers who are working to keep their territorial subjects subdued to
their will. Without the means of technology, the motive can never be achieved, and the constructed
empires are inevitably doomed to failure. Along with the means of technology, the invention, use, and
implantation of these technologies also reflect the broader political and social trends of the empires.
Architecture, technology, and medicine showcase the changes in imperial policies, ideologies and
overarching view of the empire itself. (Present or Past Tense)
Metcalf s analysis of architecture in British India shows how a combination of cultures becomes
essential in designing an empire that reflected both the colonizer and the subjects. After the Sepoy
Mutiny of 1857, British officials realized that a serious reassessment of Indian culture was necessary
for Britain to remain the colonial power. Metcalf explores the construction of the Mayo College and
the architectural debates that came with building it. The formation and science behind the architecture
are essential to empire building

Social Medi The New Frontier Of Criminal Proceedings
Social Media Social media is moving rapidly towards pervasive connectivity that will have an impact
on how digital search warrants should be granted. The majority of Americans on a daily basis utilize
social media and the vast amount of the exchanged information is beyond measurable. Due to
overwhelming social media usage, there is heightened concern among the public over what can be
accessed by law enforcement officials and what should be the scope of their search warrants. Despite
such concerns, courts haven t issued a definitive ruling distinguishing social media posts from other
electronic communications. The case law is already filled with instances in which the government
obtained social media evidence through a warrant or subpoena directed at a social media company.
Social media evidence is the new frontier of criminal proceedings and it raises unique legal
challenges, including issues of admissibility and a defendant s constitutional rights in material that
social media companies maintain. Federal law provides that in some circumstances, the government
may compel social media companies to produce social media evidence without a warrant. The Stored
Communication Act ( SCA ) governs the ability of governmental entities to compel service providers,
such as Twitter and Facebook, to produce content (e.g., posts and tweets) and non content customer
records (e.g., name and address) in certain circumstances. Even though the SCA has not been amended

Darfur Rebellion Essay
In spring 2003, the Sudanese government promised land to Arab tribes who agreed to control the
Darfur Liberation Front (DLF) rebellion. This was the foundation of the genocide. In April of 2003,
rebels from the DLF attacked the Sudanese air force base in Al Fashir. The DLF divided into two
units: the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).
In July 2003, militias were formed by nomadic Arab tribes. They were named the Janjaweed, which
means devil on horseback in Arab. The Janjaweed and the Sudanese government wreak havoc
throughout Darfur by kidnapping Darfuris, burning and looting villages, and raping and killing their
victims. In early 2004, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) makes formal refugee camps ... Show more

Chad by the end of 2004, around 100,000 were dead. On September 9, 2004, the conflict in Darfur
was declared a Genocide. Some of the other countries involved blame the Sudanese government
because they have done nothing to help the citizens of Darfur, but the UN doesn t agree. On January 9,
2005, the Sudanese government and the SPLM/A sign the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the
Second Sudanese Civil War ends. In March 2005, the people who violated the ceasefire in Darfur have

Essay about Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol
Never before have I encountered more intriguing works of art than those done by
Andy Warhol. I have been curious about his life ever since I saw his work in
Milwaukee. I saw his famous work of the Campbell s Soup Can. By viewing this, one can tell he is not
your average artist. I m sure his life is full of interesting events that shaped him into who he was. As
an artist myself, I would like to get to know the background of his life. I may then be able to
appreciate his styles and understand why and how his works were created. His life is as interesting as
his artistic masterpieces. Andrew Warhola (his original name) was born one of three sons of Czech

The rest of his short life was spent visiting with celebrities and keeping up with the world s times. He
tried to understand how the rest of the world saw things, but just never got there. Sadly, Warhol died
of a heart failure on March 9, 1987, still wearing his famous blond hair wig. Andy s diaries are not
actual written records of his day to day accounts, but they are audio recordings of his phone
conversations to Pat Hackett every Monday through
Friday (from Wednesday, November 24, 1976 to Tuesday, February 17, 1987, just weeks before his
death). Warhol originally intended these daily records to be documentation of his minor quot;business
quot; expenses. He was just audited and felt the need to be extra careful. quot;In a word it was a diary.
But whatever its broader objective, its narrow one, to satisfy tax auditors, was always on my mind
quot; (Warhol xvi). Later on, he felt the diaries were a great way to explain his everyday occurrences
for more than a decade of his life. This view of his life from his eyes is probably the most balanced
view ever given. He may have changed since the 60 s, but it is still the truest representation of Andy,
himself. He never expressed the key happenings of his life; it s as if we, the readers, already knew
them. He just usually mentions the quick everyday type things such as a cab ride to uptown New York.

Warhol s life was the stepping stone of his artistic career, his enrollment in

Lecture 5: Overconfidence
Lecturer: Andrew Grant
Introduction
› Overconfidence: Belief in one s ability that is not justified by actual skill
› How do we identify overconfidence?
Miscalibration in judgemental intervals
Better than average effect
› Miscalibration can manifest itself in estimates of quantities that could potentially be discovered (e.g.
the length of the Nile River)
› Or in estimates of not yet known quantities (e.g. the future price of a stock or the future value of a
stock index).
› The following fractile method may be used to measure the degree of miscalibration in interval
estimates:
Please give the following estimates for your prediction.

› Glaser, Weber and Langer (2009) obtain similar results for students and professional stock traders.
6
Basic Facets
› When real financial time series are forecasted within a particular time window, hit rates are
problematic because the development of stock prices of different firms is not independent
› Consider an investor who predicted in July 2001 that a set of stocks will increase slightly until the
end of the year, with error bounds around a median forecast that correspond to historical stock price
volatility.
› After September 11, 2001, such an investor would have been classified as extremely overconfident,
although the ex ante prediction looked quite reasonable. › This is why several studies compare the
volatility expectation implied by the width of the stated confidence interval with a reasonable
benchmark such as the historical volatility or the volatility implied by the option market.
Different benchmarks for volatility only affect the amount of overconfidence measured by a
researcher, but not the ranking of people with respect to their degree of overconfidence.
7
How else do we measure overconfidence?
› Other studies ask subjects to answer questions with two choices to measure the degree of
miscalibration. Subjects are then asked to state the probability that their answer is correct. E.g.

##ortals Of Meluh The First Novel Of The Shiva Trilogy...
The Immortals of Meluha is the first novel of the Shiva trilogy series by Amish Tripathi. The story is
laid down in the land of Meluha and begins with the appearance of the Shiva. The Meluhans believe
that Shiva is their fabled saviour Neelkanth. Shiva decides to help the Meluhans in their war against
the Chandravanshis, who had joined forces with a cursed Nagas; however, during his journey and the
fight that ensues, Shiva realizes how his choices actually reflect who he aspires to be and how they
lead to dire consequences.
Tripathi had initially decided to write a book on the philosophy of evil, but having been discouraged
by his family members; he decided to write a book on Shiva, one of the Hindu Gods. He decided to
make a foundation of his story on a fundamental idea that all Gods were once human beings; it was
their endeavors in the human life that made them Gods. After completing The Immortals of Meluha,
Tripathi faced rejection from many publication houses. Ultimately when his agent decided to publish
the book himself, Tripathi embarked on a promotional campaign. It included posting a live action
video on YouTube, and making the first chapter of the book available as a free digital download, to
tempt readers.
Finally, when the book was published in February 2010, it went on to become a huge commercial
success. It had to be reprinted a number of times to keep up with the demand. Tripathi even changed
his publisher and hosted a big launch for the book in Delhi. It was

Rock ‘N’ Roll Music Has Widely Influenced Music And Society
Rock n roll music has widely influenced music and society and continues to do so today. Rock n roll
emerged in the 1950 s a time where whites and blacks were heavily segregated. Rock and roll music
not only changed the nation s current musical norms, but indicated the joy of the emerging youth
culture of the generation. It influenced artists whether black or white to come into the mainstream
music. Famous artists still remembered today also influenced rock and roll. Those pioneers helped
change the musical norms and the overall history of music. White rock n rollers helped build a ladder

When first entering in America, British folk music was distinguished by three chord tunes, sparse
instrumentation (with some fiddlers), mostly male performers, improvisation, the singers sporadic
shouts (Scottish yips ), Christian themes served up in hundreds of hymns, and a secular collection of
songs that told stories, generally about love and lost love, using metaphor and symbol to tell those
stories (Allen 101). By the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, British music changed and
became Americanized. Vocal harmonizing slowly evolved, and fiddlers were accompanied by those
who played banjo, an African American opening. Tambourines and bones (tapping out rhythms using
pork rib bones) were a minstrel show contribution (Allen 102). When African Americans were forced
into slavery and brought to North America in the 1600s, they brought their own musical traditions and
sounds. Slaves who were on the Mississippi River Valley delta soil developed what will later be
introduced as blues music. On the plantations, slaves greatly changed British American hymn singing.
They took non religious British American songs and turned it into their own forms of music that
followed their culture and taste of music. Blues emerged in the early twentieth century at the same
time country music became settled from its folk roots. Blues music talked about the indifferences
African American slaves were going through at that time. The blues voiced human

Leadership Between Public Health And Local Levels
Leadership in public health splits into three main levels: federal, state and local. The federal level
being the highest, has the governing power over the state and local levels. Leadership on the federal

public health policies decision making, programs and projects funding flows down to the states and

Casey Anthony
Introduction
The idea of free is opposed by that of determinism which, in simplest form, holds that every event has
a cause. Id determinism is correct, then nothing happen that is not caused to happen by some other
event, condition, or set of events and/or conditions and this includes every thought and feeling we
have, every choice we make, and every action we take. The logic of this idea is, for many people, less
of a problem than its moral and legal implications. Not only does free will become limited (if not
eliminated) under determinism, so too does moral responsibility or culpability (Ethics, Crime, and
Criminal Justice). Casey Anthony was free found not guilty when in reality there are evidence that she

textbook, The Black Church in the African American Experience, by C. Eric Lincoln and Lawrence H.

of education Among African American clergy indicate? From reading chapter 5 of the textbook, it has
been determined that the increase of education reflects the effects and influence of the civil rights
movement and the desegregation of education. 2. Why is it difficult to track or do statistical and

supplied by the church), identifies with only one denominational group, earns more than rural clergy,
does not get a car allowance, has no health insurance via the church, is not a college graduates, and his

How Did Ai Weiwei Influence The Art World
Ai Weiwei has been influenced by his social context. He grew up in a Beijing, a society that was strict,
regimented and allowed for little freedom of expression. Having grown up knowing nothing different,
Weiwei was amazed when he moved too the untied states of America. Compared to china, the united
states welcomed freedom, personal voices and allowed for a change in social movements. When
returning to Beijing after his father fell ill and seeing the complete difference in the two societies,
Weiwei was determined to fight for freedom of expression and human rights for the Chinese
population. His return to china lead him to produce art works that openly criticises the Chinese
government, this lead to him becoming one chinas leading artists. He has said before that Art is about
social change.

John Doe Arraignment
To begin with, since John has no legal status in America, could they just have sent him back to his
home country right? Nonetheless, the police officer should have stopped him when he realized that
John was incriminating himself and read him the Miranda Rights (Fifth Amendment). For this reason,
I believe that the Miranda Rights should be read when the arrest happens. That was the officer s first
mistake. Not reading him his rights could get the whole case thrown out or anything said before his
rights was read to him will be inadmissible in court. After taking John to the station and begin
questioning him, this is when he has the right to counsel (Sixth Amendment). The Miranda Rights
states that if you can t afford counsel then one would be appointed to you. John Doe indeed had the
right to speak to someone before the investigators began interrogating him. Regardless of the fact the

During this time, the defendant is expected to enter a plea. When an arraignment occurs, the
defendants is told what their rights are, letting them know what they are being charged for and the
defendant has to enter a plea. According to Lauren Baldwin, Arraignment must occur within a
reasonable time after arrest. An unreasonable delay violates the defendant s federal constitutional
Sixth Amendment right to a speedy trial . In this particular, I believe that setting a conditions of
release is required since John is an immigrant. When it s all said and done, John Doe committed a
crime and should be punished for it rather he s an immigrant or not. I could understand his side of the
story but it still doesn t make what he did right. If it was up to me, I would just deport all illegal
immigrants that decide that they want to commit criminal acts back to their

Brady Mac s Tumors Research Paper
Have you ever experienced losing the one you love? Do you remember what it feels like? It almost
feels like you are empty, that a part of yourself is missing. Whether it is your marriage or short term
partner, a breakup isn t easy, but is it for the best? Well imagine being in a band with the person does
the band break up... or do you work it out and create something magical? Some say it s better to have
loved and lost than to never have loved at all, and in Fleetwood Mac s case that is defiantly the
reasoning behind their album Rumours. Millions of people were able to relate to Fleetwood Mac s
Rumors due to the way they were able to make a private matter public. This disquisition will explain
why Fleetwood Mac s Rumours is considered a classic album; What exactly has to be taken into

Motifs In No Country For Old Men
Ethan Coen and Joel Coen s film No Country For Old Men depicts a world that truly is no place for an
old man. The film presents two motifs the first being that times have changed and the world isn t what
it used to be. The second motif is that the three main characters don t belong or fit in with the world
they live in. The two main motifs are present through the character of Ed Tom Bell. Bell is an old
police officer who can t grasp his head around the idea that the world he lives in has changed. He
struggles the most trying to follow a case that has ruthless murders for no apparent reason. Leaving
Bell questioning what has happened to the world and wondering where he fist in. The Coen brothers
explore these motifs through costume design, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the mis en scene of costumes, the motif of good and evil, and the non sequential time line it
can be seen that the world the main characters live in truly is no place for old men. The character of
Ed Tom Bell is the main vehicle for the Coen brothers to present the two motifs. The costuming of
dark clothing on Chigur helps present the motif of not belonging and Moss s light clothing that blends
in with the dessert presents the motif of that the dessert is where he belongs but that motif is thrown
out the window when he leaves the dessert. The motif of good and evil is presented by the Coen
brothers to progress Ed Tom Bell s character into seeing what is wrong with the world he lives in.
Lastly the non sequential timeline ties the whole film together by giving Ed Tom Bell a place to vent
his true feeling about the world he lives in. These three things prove the the universe the film takes
place in really is no country for old

Standard Definition Algorithm For A Wired Network
Part 1:
Question 1
Standard Definition Algorithm Suggested Use
WEP A wireless protocol that is intended to deliver the privacy comparable to that of a wired network.
RC4 No longer used unless it is for lessons in hacking. Big security flaws and easy to hack.
WPA This protocol offers more data encryption than WEP and also offers user authentication. RC4
with TKIP This is used with older devices. But these may still need an update through firmware so
they will be compliant.
WPA2 This protocol offers CCMP (Counter Cipher Mode with Block Chaining Message
Authentication Code Protocol) as the replacement of TKIP. AES Only used in newer devices.
(Dulaney Easttom, 2014) (How To Geek, n.d.)
Question 2 Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) is an encryption protocol that is included in the
IEEE 802.11i standard for wireless LAN networks. It helps provide more encryption security than
Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). TKIP uses its algorithms to protect WEP s security flaws and allows
the users of older devices to upgrade without replacing any hardware. These algorithms are additional
code at the beginning and end to capture and modify WEP. TKIP uses RC4 as its foundation but it also
includes four more algorithms to increase strength: cryptographic message integrity check,
initialization vector sequencing mechanism, per packet key mixing function, and re keying
mechanism. Although, TKIP is used for upgrading security on devices equipped with WEP, it isn t

‘The main reason for conservative dominance in the years...
The main reason for conservative dominance in the years 1951 to 1964 was labour disunity Assess the
validity of this view. (June 2011)
Labour disunity was a huge contributing factor as to why the conservatives were able to dominate
from 1951 to 1964. However, there are also other factors that assisted conservative dominance.
Whether that be conservative strengths, good timing, the end of austerity or their handle on public
opinion, all factors contributed to the dominant years. However, how long the conservatives actually
dominated is also a question. Did they dominate for the whole period, or just part of it? The years
1962 1964 question conservative dominance and how labour reunited.
One of the major reasons why Conservatives were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure to exploit opportunities was also another labour problem. The 1956 sued crisis provided labour
with a great opportunity to get back on the attack. If there had been a general election in 1957 then
things may have favoured labour. However, Suez did not split the conservatives and labour were left
with few targets to aim at in hoping to gain more supporters. The Labour party s inability to counter
conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity.
As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated.
Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused by
the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives in
improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation.
The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee government.
Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time. There can be no outright rejection of the
welfare state, nor a total reversal of nationalisation. Attitudes towards industry, the trade unions and
social policy were going to have to be very different from the 1930s because the experiences of the
war years had made people far more ready to accept the need for state intervention and planning. The
post war years had seen living standards rise, proving to be very popular

The flower will be in bloom for longer than an hour, but the meaning behind that shows a bigger
picture in life s upsets. Often in life we have situations that gives us insights on better things in life
because they end on a bad note. Other times, we have situations in life that show us how to overcome
sadness in bad situations. In the line of goes down to day , I think that frost is speaking on the how a
day may start fresh and great but may end on a bad note from an experience. Some may take that that
line as meaning that their good thing is gone. The day is over and the good has ended. The last line of
the the poem, is the title of the poem. I think that Frost, let it be the last thing mentioned to show the
ending of something beautiful. The last lined as mentioned takes us through what happened before the
day ended and sunset. In the last line there is a depiction of how a good day has to end even when we
do not want it to. A great example of a big day is a wedding. For most people they do not not want
their wedding day to end because, it is one of the best days of their life. Also, some people may want it

Patience Analysis
What is patience? Patience means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without
getting upset or angry. My sister, Natalie, and I had a normal relationship we fight like every other pair
of siblings do. We normally have very small, stupid fights over things that do not matter. For some
reason that day I did not have any patience at all and then it all happened. On a beautiful, hot day in
August 2011, my grandfather, father, mother, brother, sister, and I all began our day of work. Natalie
and I had been in argument over who got to sit in the good chair in the rusty corn building next to the
grain bins. As I got angrier, I began to walk out the window pane door suddenly my eyes filled with
tears. I looked down and saw the gushing blood but I did not feel any pain. After I saw the blood I let

misunderstood, others react harshly; we can see this colorfully portrayed in both the Crucible by

ABSTRACT
Buchi Emecheta is one of the growing numbers of African women writers who have set their authorial
eyes on the conditions of women living both on their home continent and abroad. She takes her place
among Tsitsi Dangarembga, Miriama Ba, Bessie Head, Ama Ata Aidoo, Lauretta Ngcobo, and Lindsey
Collen, to name a few, as writers who have formed an intense new voice of African womanhood.
Emecheta has published more than twenty works; including the novels Double Yoke, The Bride Price,
Head above Water, Destination Biafra, and Kehinde. Each is an exploration of what it means to be a
woman and a mother in rapidly evolving societies where traditions and mores are in a constant state of
flux. While some of her novels mirror her own experience as an expatriate living in London, her work
mostly focuses on her native country of Nigeria. The Joys of Motherhood is among her most pivotal
works, as it offers critical commentary on colonialism, tradition, capitalism, and women s roles as they
come to affect one woman, Nnu Ego, and her family
Key words: African women writers, expatriation, motherhood, colonialism, women s role

The Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is responsible for making some of the most important cases that set the tone for
society, as it continually ensures that the Constitution remains the law of the land. Many landmark
decisions have been made by the court that have impacted society in some of the most significant
ways; some of these cases include Marbury v. Madison (1803), Brown v. Board of Education (1954),
Miranda v. Arizona (1966), and Roe v. Wade (1973). Key decisions that are being made don t simply
impact the plaintiffs and defendants; rather they continually impact the public and the present and
future of these issues that have been decided, setting the tone for the rest of us. These important
decisions that have and are being made continue to cause much controversy as not all will be agreed
on by the public or even other political figures/branches for that matter. And with the way that the
court is organized, specifically with lifetime tenure, it can easily make the decisions look to be
immune from public opinion. Yet, at this same time, the court must look at how society operates as
well as its norms and values, which are impacted by these decisions. And from that aspect, it doesn t
seem that public preference is completely thrown out the window; it takes the ability of the public to
identify these concerns/issues that need to be addressed, as is the case when it comes to public policy
making.
The nine justices of the Supreme Court make the most important decisions impacting the U.S.

  • 2. President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) is known for his influential pieces of legislation that were passed and signed into law during America s darkest days of the Great Depression and World War II. Within the first hundred days of President Roosevelt s first term he signed the New Deal . This New Deal created government programs to help produce government jobs for the unemployed, help promote economic growth, and helped regulate the banks and Wall Street. Some of the original New Deal programs are still in use today such as: the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Social Security. President Roosevelt showed great leadership and knowledge during our nation s crises. Born in Hyde Park, New York, in 1882, President Franklin grew up in a wealthy and political family; his 5th cousin was President Theodore Roosevelt. Franklin Roosevelt attended Harvard College and Columbia Law and in 1905 he married Eleanor Roosevelt. This fear of not knowing what to expect was very challenging for me; since I like to be in control of every situation and have every minute of my life planned out. Even though there were many struggles, mudslinging, and tears everything turned out for the best. The 16th and 17th century society had parents connected to courtships, a very formal courtship, and ending with an Elizabethan Church wedding.. Back in the 16th and 17th century many things were different from how they are today, especially marriage and courtship. Back then parents had entire control over the courtship. A courtship back in the day looked very different from anything we have now. In the 16th and 17th century s normal marriage in England followed the Elizabethan Church wedding rules. Also it s the exact kind of wedding William Shakespeare had. Today s relationships and marriages are completely different than those of the 16th and 17th century. In the 16th and 17th century parents had control over the courtship and marriage of their children. Parents power over their children related even in courtships. Marriage of the children looked to the parents as nothing more than a trading of property. Unless the parents die, then the couple s town and church are in control. • 4. The Life Of Nicole s Spiritual Journey Nicole is a 21 year old female, who grew up in the church all of her life. Her parents held very traditional views, which was reflected in her upbringing. She was dedicated as a baby, she attended church every Sunday, was baptized at the early age of seven years old, and accepted Christ as the head of her life and the foundation of her existence. She was active in the church very early on, participating in Sunday school, the usher board, and singing in the youth choir. Even so, Nicole s spiritual journey has not been smooth sailing as she has encountered many detours along the way. Oftentimes turning to secular behaviors and activities, seeking self gratification, not attending church for years at a time, and ultimately becoming a single unwed mother. Through it all, the highs and the lows, Nicole is still a devout Christian; on a journey to rededicate her life to Christ, removing unhealthy people and situations from her life, focusing on God, and fully going after the life that God intended for her. Over the course of religious and faith development, there will be times that each individual steps outside of the will of God, as no one is perfect. Through these obstacles and rebellious acts, God corrects and reforms one s behaviors as the individual draws nearer to him. In this way, faith development is similar to the social learning theory. • 10. European Imperialism In British India The works of Thomas Metcalf, T.W. Roberts, Daniel Headrick, and other notable historians explore the development of the European imperial project through the use of architecture, technology, and medicine. These technologies become the machines and driving force of imperialism and are used to retain control over colonial regions. Headrick argues that these sciences provide the means to the motives behind the imperialist powers who are working to keep their territorial subjects subdued to their will. Without the means of technology, the motive can never be achieved, and the constructed empires are inevitably doomed to failure. Along with the means of technology, the invention, use, and implantation of these technologies also reflect the broader political and social trends of the empires. Architecture, technology, and medicine showcase the changes in imperial policies, ideologies and overarching view of the empire itself. (Present or Past Tense) Metcalf s analysis of architecture in British India shows how a combination of cultures becomes essential in designing an empire that reflected both the colonizer and the subjects. After the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, British officials realized that a serious reassessment of Indian culture was necessary for Britain to remain the colonial power. Metcalf explores the construction of the Mayo College and the architectural debates that came with building it. The formation and science behind the architecture are essential to empire building ... • 11. Social Medi The New Frontier Of Criminal Proceedings Social Media Social media is moving rapidly towards pervasive connectivity that will have an impact on how digital search warrants should be granted. The majority of Americans on a daily basis utilize social media and the vast amount of the exchanged information is beyond measurable. Due to overwhelming social media usage, there is heightened concern among the public over what can be accessed by law enforcement officials and what should be the scope of their search warrants. Despite such concerns, courts haven t issued a definitive ruling distinguishing social media posts from other electronic communications. The case law is already filled with instances in which the government obtained social media evidence through a warrant or subpoena directed at a social media company. Social media evidence is the new frontier of criminal proceedings and it raises unique legal challenges, including issues of admissibility and a defendant s constitutional rights in material that social media companies maintain. Federal law provides that in some circumstances, the government may compel social media companies to produce social media evidence without a warrant. The Stored Communication Act ( SCA ) governs the ability of governmental entities to compel service providers, such as Twitter and Facebook, to produce content (e.g., posts and tweets) and non content customer records (e.g., name and address) in certain circumstances. Sadly, Warhol died of a heart failure on March 9, 1987, still wearing his famous blond hair wig. Andy s diaries are not actual written records of his day to day accounts, but they are audio recordings of his phone conversations to Pat Hackett every Monday through Friday (from Wednesday, November 24, 1976 to Tuesday, February 17, 1987, just weeks before his death). Warhol originally intended these daily records to be documentation of his minor quot;business quot; expenses. He was just audited and felt the need to be extra careful. quot;In a word it was a diary. The story is laid down in the land of Meluha and begins with the appearance of the Shiva. The Meluhans believe that Shiva is their fabled saviour Neelkanth. Shiva decides to help the Meluhans in their war against the Chandravanshis, who had joined forces with a cursed Nagas; however, during his journey and the fight that ensues, Shiva realizes how his choices actually reflect who he aspires to be and how they lead to dire consequences. Tripathi had initially decided to write a book on the philosophy of evil, but having been discouraged by his family members; he decided to write a book on Shiva, one of the Hindu Gods. He decided to make a foundation of his story on a fundamental idea that all Gods were once human beings; it was their endeavors in the human life that made them Gods. By the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, British music changed and became Americanized. Vocal harmonizing slowly evolved, and fiddlers were accompanied by those who played banjo, an African American opening. Tambourines and bones (tapping out rhythms using pork rib bones) were a minstrel show contribution (Allen 102). When African Americans were forced into slavery and brought to North America in the 1600s, they brought their own musical traditions and sounds. Slaves who were on the Mississippi River Valley delta soil developed what will later be introduced as blues music. On the plantations, slaves greatly changed British American hymn singing. They took non religious British American songs and turned it into their own forms of music that followed their culture and taste of music. Nonetheless, the police officer should have stopped him when he realized that John was incriminating himself and read him the Miranda Rights (Fifth Amendment). For this reason, I believe that the Miranda Rights should be read when the arrest happens. That was the officer s first mistake. (June 2011) Labour disunity was a huge contributing factor as to why the conservatives were able to dominate from 1951 to 1964. However, there are also other factors that assisted conservative dominance. Whether that be conservative strengths, good timing, the end of austerity or their handle on public opinion, all factors contributed to the dominant years. However, how long the conservatives actually dominated is also a question. Did they dominate for the whole period, or just part of it? Failure to exploit opportunities was also another labour problem. The 1956 sued crisis provided labour with a great opportunity to get back on the attack. If there had been a general election in 1957 then things may have favoured labour. However, Suez did not split the conservatives and labour were left with few targets to aim at in hoping to gain more supporters. The Labour party s inability to counter conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity. As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated. Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused by the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives in improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation. The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee government. Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time. There can be no outright rejection of the welfare state, nor a total reversal of nationalisation. Attitudes towards industry, the trade unions and social policy were going to have to be very different from the 1930s because the experiences of the war years had made people far more ready to accept the need for state intervention and planning. The Supreme Court The Supreme Court is responsible for making some of the most important cases that set the tone for society, as it continually ensures that the Constitution remains the law of the land. Many landmark decisions have been made by the court that have impacted society in some of the most significant ways; some of these cases include Marbury v. Madison (1803), Brown v. Board of Education (1954), Miranda v. Arizona (1966), and Roe v. Wade (1973). Key decisions that are being made don t simply impact the plaintiffs and defendants; rather they continually impact the public and the present and future of these issues that have been decided, setting the tone for the rest of us. These important decisions that have and are being made continue to cause much controversy as not all will be agreed on by the public or even other political figures/branches for that matter. And with the way that the court is organized, specifically with lifetime tenure, it can easily make the decisions look to be immune from public opinion. Yet, at this same time, the court must look at how society operates as well as its norms and values, which are impacted by these decisions. And from that aspect, it doesn t seem that public preference is completely thrown out the window; it takes the ability of the public to identify these concerns/issues that need to be addressed, as is the case when it comes to public policy making.
