Pinto Safety Essay
In 1969, Ford had to make an affordable car for the public and 2 years later amidst competition from
other car manufacturers, Ford rushed production of the Pinto to get it on the road quicker. The car cost
two thousand dollars and over 12.5 million were massed produced by Ford over the span of 9 years.
Facing the need to make the car cost efficient, corners were cut by Ford and certain standards of safety
for the car weren t met and the area where the bumper and the fuel tank were missing key components
imperative to safety this meant rear end collisions would rupture the Pinto s fuel system extremely
easily. (motherjones.com/politics/1977/09/pinto madness) One prominent instance of these explosive
accidents occurred in 1972 when a woman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Safety wasn t a popular subject around Ford in those days. With Lee it was taboo. Whenever a
problem was raised that meant a delay on the Pinto, Lee would chomp on his cigar, look out the
window and say Read the product objectives and get back to work. Safety was not a popular subject
because safety would cost for eleven dollars for each cars to be implemented with a redesign to make
sure that it does not set on fire when struck by another car. Ford tallied up the cost of these
implemented safety measures to be around 137 million dollars, on the other hand did the math for the
amount of people that would be affected meaning set on fire or severely injured, and worse die due to
the car going into production without the safety implementations which the company estimated to be
around 49 million dollars with that number came the estimation that there would be 180 buyers who
would die by burning, serious burns injuries for 180 more buyers and 2100 vehicles burn beyond all

Dr. Martin Luther King s Principles Of Nonviolence
Dr. Martin Luther King s philosophy showed not only Americans but humans in general the necessity
to fight for equality and real freedom without hurting those who oppose our points of view. Dr. King s
Six Principles of Nonviolence have become a bible for those fighting for the most just causes in the
planet and years after his dead his knowledge and ideals still inspiring people from different races,
religions and cultures.
In Venezuela a man called Leopoldo Lopez is a living example of the validity Dr. King s values have
in our time. Lopez was the head of a movement to ask for the resignation of Venezuela s dictator
Nicolas Maduro through pacific demonstrations on the street all over the country.
Venezuelans response to Lopez s call was tremendous and thousands of people went out to the streets
to reestablish the democracy and the dignity of a country where toilet paper, milk, diapers and other
basic goods are a privilege. Maduro s forces tried to silent the people by using violence. The final
results were 43 demonstrators dead, thousands injured and around 1500 arrested including Lopez.
But Lopez arrest was not a normal one. After the first demonstration in Caracas, the government
issued an order to detain Lopez. It was not the first time the party in power tried to silent Lopez, he
has been a victim of multiple accusations including an order to restrict his right to be elected in any
political position. Lopez decided to turn himself in to the authorities in front

Identity In The Outsiders
A lot of events and people helped change Ponyboy s worldview and identity. A red headed girl named
Sherri Valance, was one of those people. An event which influenced Ponyboy, was the car crash which
killed his parents. A third thing which impacted Ponyboy, was the Rumble with the Socs. Many things
occurred in The Outsiders which shaped Ponyboy s identity, such as Cherry, Ponyboy s parents dying
and the Rumble. Sherri Valance helped change Ponyboy s worldview. She shaped him because he
realized that not all Socs were as bad or as lucky as he once thought. When Cherry was talking to
Ponyboy at the movie theater, she told him, all Socs aren t like that , showing some of them are good.
Cherry also helped Ponyboy realize that the Socs have problems too. During the conversation, Cherry
also told him, We (the Socs) have troubles you never heard of . He thought before that the Socials had
good grades, cars and girls, madras, mustangs and corvairs; and if he had troubles like that he would
be lucky. Ponyboy also had a new understanding that the Socs and Greasers both have had a hard, bad,
rough life. Sherri told Ponyboy that, things are rough all over , which demonstrates that the two ...

Ponyboy no longer had a role model. Ponyboy made many bad decision since he had no parents to
discipline him. He looked up to his gang and was influenced by them (i.e he smokes since he saw they

when he goes to Dally after Bob s death. Dally may not have said or did the best option for Ponyboy
and if he had parents, they would probably give him a better option. Ponyboy becomes very lonely
and needs the feeling of friends or family. As a result of him being lonely, he joins a gang to fill in the
space of a family. When Ponyboy s parents died, Ponyboy had a new identity where he was lonely,

Amber Alerts
The North Dakota Public Alerts website is useful as it contains important information concerning
public alerts. If there is an Amber Alert or a Blue Alert, the home page would display the information
pertaining to the case. Also, on this page are activation forms to submit an Amber or Blue Alert. The
website addresses several topics of information regarding Amber Alerts. The goal of this alert system
is to provide the surrounding communities with information that can assist in the safe finding and
return of a missing child. The site is helpful as it gives the criteria that is required for an Amber Alert
to be activated. The website includes information regarding child safety tips to prevent abductions,
rules for safety and parent recording keeping. It provides helpful links, similar to that of Amber Alert,
that may assist parents in finding their missing child. Some of these links are Child Alert Foundation,

specific jurisdiction of the state. I enjoyed exploring the North Dakota Public Alerts website. I learned
more about both the Amber Alert and Blue Alert. It provides useful information on how to contact
help, how to keep children safe, and the history of Amber Alerts. I also learned about Blue Alerts.
Prior to this exploration, I had little knowledge about them. I would recommend this site to other users

Essay about Joan Of Arc By Jules Basten Lepage
Joan of Arc, was painted by the French realist artist Jules Bastien Lepage in 1879. After the province
of Lorraine was lost to Germany following the Franco Prussian War in 1821, The Frenchmen saw in
Joan of Arc a new and powerful symbol. In 1875, Bastien Lepage, a native of Lorraine began to make
studies for a picture of her. In the present painting, exhibited in the Salon of 1880, Joan is shown
receiving her revelation in her parents garden. Behind her are Saints Michael, Margaret, and
Catherine. (Caption next to painting in The Metropolitan)
Jules Bastien Lepage creates a realistic atmosphere, including a supernatural, religious like presence
within his painting. Oil on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes her a more easily visible aspect in the painting, and catches the onlookers eye. Joan is
dressed in a long brown skirt and blue gray shirt with white underneath which is the typical clothing
style of the 19th century. The clothing is painted to show its wear and tear. Her features and her figure
are quite realistic. She seems to have a calm, but troubled expression on her face, as though she is
deep in thought. Overall she is painted in a very detailed manner.
A less visible, yet still present and important aspect of the painting are the three figures positioned
behind Joan, and in front of the house. The figures are somewhat transparent, and ghostly. Their
presence adds a spiritual and or religious feeling to the scene. These three figures presence blends into
the scenery. Al three have halos above their heads, and serene looks on their faces.
The saint on the right is dressed in what looks to be armor. He looks brave, and as if he is standing
guard or going into battle. The middle saint is a praying angel. She is in a dress with a gauzy, white
presence around her. This whiteness gives her an ethereal quality which Bastien Lepage has painted
quite effectively, and adds to the spiritual feeling of the scene. Her presence in the painting seems to
represent chastity and virtue. The last figure looks like a young girl or child, who is kneeling with her
face hidden in her hands almost as if she is

Fleet Tracking Essay
X Fleet Tracking Tips To Increase Efficiency Profit
Fuel, maintenance and repair, and insurance costs are all expenses every fleet incurs. The fleet that
manages these costs the most efficiently has a competitive advantage, and will enjoy greater earnings.
Following are three fleet tracking tips to increase efficiency and profit.
Fuel
Fuel is the largest operating expense for fleets. Taking tight control of this expense can bring about
significant economic benefits. GPS tracking systems offer huge advantages to fleet managers because
they make fuel purchases, and use, transparent. Managers are able to view when and where fuel
purchases or made, and by whom. They can view reports that systematically display cost per mile, as

The optimized route details the most efficient, and cost effective course, and deviations from that
itinerary, generally reduce the profit of the load. Fleet management software can include the preferred
fuel stops into the route. Using complex algorithms, the program calculates how far off the route the
fuel stop is, while weighing in the cost of the fuel at that station. Refueling stops, that reflect the least
route departure, at the maximum cost savings, are part of the planned route the driver will follow. This
eliminates many of the deadhead miles that result in reaching an off course refueling station.
Driving Performance
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that driver impact on fuel efficiency is, as much
as, 33%. GPS fleet management systems monitor driving behavior that waste fuel, such as hard
acceleration, excessive use of air conditioning, hard breaking, idling, and driving at inconsistent
speeds. These behaviors often improve when drivers become aware that they are being monitored,
however, fleet managers can trigger alerts for driving actions that are both unsafe, and wasteful of
fuel.
Preventative Maintenance and Repair
Maintenance and repair are the second largest operational expenses for fleets. Professionals advocate
that a rigorous regimen of preventative maintenance is essential for efficient and profitable fleet
management. Not only does preventative

Walter Rauschenbusch Social Gospel
In A Theology for the Social Gospel by Walter Rauschenbusch (1917), and Love and Justice:
Selections from the Shorter Writings of Reinhold Niebuhr (1957) are both sensitively passionate about
people, and the social gospel presented to them. Gonzalez shares, Rauschenbusch is amongst a small
core of liberals that devote their efforts to exploring and showing the relationship between the
demands of the gospel and the misery in which the urban masses lived. He insisted that the social and
economic life of the nation should conform to the requirements of the gospel, and showed that
economic liberalism the theory that the law of supply and demand suffices to regulate the marketplace
results in great inequity and social injustice. The task of Christian in that context is to seek to limit the
unbridled power of runaway capital, and to advocate the enactment of laws that will aid ... Show more

The social gospel plainly concentrates religious interest on the great ethical problems of social life.
The more the social gospel engages and inspires theological thought, the more religion is concentrated
on ethical righteousness. The social gospel is bound to be a reformatory and Christianizing force
inside of theology (p.15). The social gospel approximates lay religion. It deals with the ethical
problems of the present life with which the common man is familiar and which press upon his
conscience. Yet it appeals to God, his will, his kingdom; to Christ, his spirit, his law. There will be an
increase of health when theology takes in hand the problems of social redemption and considers how
its doctrines connect with the Kingdom of God in actual realization (p.17). The social gospel fuses the
Christian spirit and the social consciousness in a new outreaching toward God and in remarkable
experiences of his comfort

Baby Led Weaning Book Report
I chose to read, Baby led Weaning: the essential guide to introducing solid foods and helping your
baby to grow up a happy and confident eater by Gill Rapley and Tracey Murkett for my parenting
book report. Baby led weaning (BLW) is essentially giving the baby the control to choose when, how,
and what they want to eat. According to the authors BLW has many benefits that include: its enjoyable
for both parents and babies, its natural, babies learn about foods, learn how to eat safely, learning
about the world, reaching their potential with hand eye coordination, gives babies confidence to make
their own decisions, trusting food, allows babies to be apart of family meals, helps with appetite
control, better nutrition, long term health, learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, I think it could be difficult to have babies eat with the whole family because the focus it is
not on the baby. This could be good in that the baby is not always getting attention or learning they
will get all the attention whenever they want it, but also could be dangerous if the baby does decide to
swallow food before they figure out chewing first. Time could be an issue as well, most families are
busy and do not have the time to sit and wait for their babies to play with their food. Infants are
starting to explore their sensorimotor skills and need the time to do so. According to Piaget s six sub
stages of sensorimotor development, from the 1to 4 months babies are in the first habits and primary
circular reactions stage in which they repeat a body sensation that was first experienced by chance.
The stage babies will start BLW is secondary circular reactions. In this stage the infant becomes more
object oriented, moving beyond self preoccupation, and the repeated actions bring the infants
fascinating or satisfying results. The BLW seems to promote this stage of sensorimotor development
through exploration of different

The Epic Of Gilgamesh, And The Mahabharata
The journey, the hero, the triumph, and the defeat are all elements that some of literatures greatest
works have encaptured, such as: the Ramayana, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Mahabharata. Each of
these texts depicts a hero or protagonist that is unique to their culture and although each of these
heroes embark on a different journey with different purposes and goals in mind, they all display a
variety of features that people of then and now can relate to. It becomes transparent that each of the
journeys these heroes undertake are a lot like that of the lives of people today. The Epic of Gilgamesh
is one of the oldest pieces of literature known to man. Written in 2700 B.C.E this epic poem centers in
on an ancient king of Uruk in present day Iraq. When we are first introduced to Gilgamesh, the king of
Uruk, we see that he is a tyrant ruler which is one third human, two thirds divine and in endowed with
immense strength. Instead of serving his people he suppresses them and engages in immoral behaviors
fit for a king. The behaviors result in a backlash from his citizens and the nobles began to complain
bitterly about these behaviors. The gods eventually intervene and in order to tame Gilgamesh s wild
spirit they create his equal, Enkidu, whose purpose in this epic poem is to help guide Gilgamesh in
becoming a better person and a better king for his people. Before Gilgamesh is introduced to Enkidu
there is little in his life that offers meaning to him, yet he still

Family And Family Life
50 years ago, a prominent stereotype in America portrayed the men as hardworking breadwinners
while on the opposite side of the spectrum the woman stayed home taking care of the house, children,
cooking and cleaning. In the current generation, a lot has changed, roles have slightly switched and
men and women both have the opportunity to work in the field they desire. These changes have
brought new values and brought forth many obstacles with balancing the family/work life. Although
the stereotype about the father being the one working and the mother staying home changed
significantly over the years, when both parents are working and trying to keep their family together
there are many obstacles that come along. In today s society, many face the complication of not being
able to spend enough time with their children due to work, not being as flexible in balancing the work
life versus family life and having to face the situation of trying to pick between choosing their child
over a dream job.
To begin with, today it is very common that both parents go to work in order to support their family,
but sometimes either mom, dad, or both can be working too much and not realize that they can be
missing out on being a part of their child s life later regretting their pass decisions as their children
grow older. It is very common that some parents put more time into working rather than spending time
with their child and do not realize that it affects their family and their child due to

Mealsault And Meursault In Albert Camus s The Stranger
The characters observed in Albert Camus s book, The Stranger, are human; they aren t anything more
or anything less. Every human is cruel and unusual in one way or the other. People are inhumane to
each other and make irrational decisions, but they are still considered human. Characters like
Raymond and the magistrate exhibit these traits. From the view of people, remaining completely
objective to any given subject is impossible. There always is bias and opinion in their thought process.
However, Meursault is not every person. His decisions are impulsive, based purely on facts and his
surroundings. People cannot understand Meursault because he can take everything at face value with
only himself as the center of relativity; no one else can do that. People like the priest try to understand
it but cannot, so they try changing Meursault instead. Others like Raymond take advantage of it. They
all are indifferent towards Meursault s understanding. Meursault is seen as the absurdity of the world
because he sees the discrepancies of other people s lives head on by being objective to their actions,
behaviors, and beliefs while remaining steadfast towards his own reality. Raymond was the most
morally unjust person that interacted with Meursault, which shows Meursault s objectivity towards
choices between good and evil. Throughout the novel Meursault associates with Raymond even in
wake of his peer s poor opinions of Raymond s character. Meursault listens and does whatever

Stono Rebellion And Salem Witch Trials
From 1607 to 1750s Great Britain governed British North America through salutary neglect. The lax
rule attracted ethnically diverse immigrants from European countries who sought economic
opportunities, religious freedom, and escape from their violent homelands. Africans also contributed
to the diverse heritage of America by involuntarily migrating to America. The lax rule plus the diverse
demographic prompted the Stono Rebellion and Salem Witch Trials which reflected the economic,
political and social tensions of colonial society. The Stono Rebellion and Salem Witch Trials both
reflect economic tensions but the Stono Rebellion was due to a slave based economy while economic
disparity played role in the Salem Witch trials. The Southern colonies` main motive for settlement was
profits from derived from plantations; tobacco in the Chesapeake and Carolinas plus rice and indigo in
S. Carolina. After Bacon`s Rebellion plantation owners switched over to African slaves because they
required less maintenance, work time wasn t limited to contracts, and were less likely to rebel than
indentured servants. Slavery was a much more profitable and safer alternative to indentured servitude.

villages for young healthy males and sometimes women. On some occasions prisoners of war, many
being strong warriors were a prized commodity in the slave trade. After crossing the Middle Passage

Behavior Reduction Exercise
My primary goal for the Follow Up Period of the Behavior Reduction Exercise was to maintain my
elimination of added (unnatural) sugars from my diet. I decided to continue the length of the reduction
exercise through Lent in the hopes that this exercise can facilitate acquiring a lifestyle change. In other
words, by continuing the length of this exercise, this behavior or restraint will establish healthier
eating habits, because added sugars had become such an unhealthy part of my diet, and this healthy
habit will hopefully assist me in establishing a permanent lifestyle change. I also continued to try to

much one s environment may affect your behavior or addiction. However, despite the availablilty and
prevalence of sugary treats, I was less tempted or interested. The most intense craving I had actually
lasted several days, but it was brought about by the stress, frustration, and disappointment of preparing

addition, it helped me to understand the lengths one my go to in order to satisfy a craving. I think this

Thought Bubble Content Analysis
Introduction
I chose to do my multi genre project on the Twenties. The Twenties have also interested me and that
unit was by far my favorite this semester, so it only seemed right to go deeper into and expand my
learning on it even more. To portray the different changes and new inventions that came about during
this era, I did a drawing. In my drawing, there is a young flapper girl and a large thought bubble.
Inside this bubble, it shows her reflecting on what has happened during the past ten years.

Many important milestones such as Prohibition (the 18th amendment), Women s Suffrage (the 19th
amendment), and the Stock Market Crash in 1929. I chose to portray Prohibition by having a beer

To start with, the Flapper girl (in the lower left corner) was a major iconic figure during this period.
Flappers were women who went against the normality and did not so lady like things. Many of them

Polar Bear Population Analysis
The current management plans for conservation of polar bears appear to be a concerted effort to
protect the species. However, the effectiveness on a global scale is uncertain as to whether diminishing
habitats will wreak havoc on the polar bear populations in the future. The international agreements and
treaties are important as they recognize common goals and strategies given the multiple nations
involved. Most of these agreements are decades old and do not sufficiently protect polar bear
populations that much. They have been important in creating a framework of hunting and developing
restrictions for many of the nations, but there is no clear mechanism to enforce these agreements. As
stated before, the greatest threat to polar bear populations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be effective, these agreements should include an effective form of enforcement, such as an
organizational enforcement authority made up of members from all five nations that have
jurisdictional authority over polar bear preservation. Perhaps something similar to Interpol, but for
wildlife conservation and works directly with governmental enforcement agencies. Such an
international agency could also be used for other conservation efforts for other endangered or
threatened species.
Other components of new international agreements should also address the chief concern for polar
bears. Perhaps this can be another mechanism to assist in promoting the reduction of emissions and
rallying enhanced scientific research objectives to pursue alternative energies between the five Arctic

From my opinion Jonathan Kozol would say to Gladwell about Marita needed to go to the KIPP
School cause of she needs to get a better education system who comes from low income and

school. KIPP is that kind of school where students can learn feel free. They take care of their students

On the other hand I would like to say from my concept about according to Prudence L. Carter would

Compare And Contrast The North And South Civil War
Neither North or South was ready to go into a major war. With the North having a US Army and a US
Navy it made the North have a better advantage. Another reason that they North was at a better
advantage was because of the agricultural and industrial backing. The Southern landscape was a big
part when it came to the civil war. The South did not have any resources making it hard for both
citizens and soldiers to live. A lot of things led up to the defeat of the South and victory of the North.
The North had a Us Army that was 16,000 strong and was mostly stationed in the West, as well as the
US Navy which was small but still noticeable. While the South did not have a national army or navy.
Instead they had small state armies like the army

Frederick Taylor Research Paper
Frederick Taylor was the founder of Scientific management also known as Taylorism. He was the first
who settled a reasonable approach, a coherent manner in which the factories should be organised. The
best way for a worker to do their jobs according to Taylor was to provide proper tools and training,
and to provide motivation for good performance. He introduced the concept of scientific management
that influenced the management thought process in a considerable way. Taylor found out that by the
use of scientific procedures and methods, the proficiency of workers can be increased and economy
can gain substantial growth. The principles of scientific management introduced by Taylor were
applied widely across the industries to increase the productivity of the organizations.Various
researchers suggest that Taylor s efforts unlocked the new prospects of management. Taylor created a

expenses incurred for the production of income, losses, and personal expenses. In addition to

Trade or Business Deductions
Ā¶6201 Overview Code Sec. 162 Under Code Sec. 162, all ordinary, necessary and reasonable expenses
incurred in carrying on a trade or business activity are deductible. This is true whether the taxpayer s
business activities are structured as a sole proprietor, a partnership, or a corporation. Allowable trade
or business expenses incurred by individuals are deductible for AGI, usually on Schedule C, attached
to Form 1040. Ā¶6205 General Criteria There are four requirements for an expense to be deductible as a
trade or business expense: (1) It must be related to carrying on a trade or business activity (as opposed,
for example, to a hobby activity); (2) It must be ordinary and necessary; (3) It must be reasonable; and
(4) It must be paid or incurred during the taxable year. Ā¶6215 Expense Must Be Incurred in a Trade or
Business Activity A deduction is authorized by Code Sec. 162 only if the expenditure is paid or
incurred in an activity that constitutes a trade or business. The purpose of this requirement is to deny
deductions for expenses incurred in activities that are primarily personal in nature. Business status
requires both a proļ¬t motive and a suļ¬ƒcient degree of taxpayer involvement in the activity to

employees are up to standard when delivering services and producing quality products. One advantage
is that this new recruits are available during shortage of labour which could help in the ease of demand
in sales. One disadvantage is that it is expensive to run such initiatives.
Moreover, increasing wages and giving bonuses is another strategy retailers could use. This initiatives

disadvantage is that when such crisis happens again this workers may demand for their salaries to

amp;#8230;about. quot; This section shows how the main character, Jake Barnes, does not care if he
truly learns anything in life and only wants to know how to get by. If in life you never learn anything,
then it is almost impossible to change. Jake Barnes unwillingness to learn shows that later in his life
he will have little or no change as he did for the book, yet again showing the theme of a constant or
unchanging course. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; The incident where Bocanegra kills a man in the
crowd while being loaded off the truck for the fight later that night is a subtle example of the theme,
the bill always comes. (On pg. 199 quot; The amp;#8230; Pamplona. quot;) The example shown here
is the bull kills a man and later the will get its punishment from Pedro Romero. The bull has
committed a violent and deadly act against man so, in turn, he (the bull) will be smitten in view of
hundreds of spectators. This shows how things in life will always have a steady course of action,
which is shown in this rather subtle example. A far better example of the thematic interpretation
conveyed in the prior paragraph, is the character of Mike. Mike is very high and mighty when arriving
in Pamplona with his lady, Brett. He continues to inflate his ego by insulting Robert Cohn with out
any feeling of remorse. Mike

Why I Started Working With Dontae
When I started working with Dontae I tried to be open minded and not interact with him with theories
floating around in my mind. I was taught in my undergraduate career that conversations with your
clients should feel natural and because I was nervous to showcase my abilities at a new placement I
did not want say the wrong thing and to ruin my ability to make a deep connection with Dontae later.
In addition I considered that Dontae may not be his true self for at least a week because he would be
new to the program and not know any or many of the other residents. I decided during the initial
intake that although I had read all the faxed documents and psychiatric evaluations on Dontae that I
would speak to him and determine for myself what was going on for him.
During Dontae s initial week at MTR I observed Dontae s interactions with others and assessed his
coping skills. I introjected myself into what he was doing to ensure that he adjusted well to MTR staff
and residents. I began to formulate some thoughts as to what was happening for Dontae but tried to
keep an open mind about him as a person. Moreover during the course of my work with Dontae I
began by making sure that I aligned myself with Dontae and made sure that he understood that I was
here to help him rather than hurt him. I made sure that Dontae felt like I cared about him and that he
understood that his all around wellbeing is a priority for me. My purpose for aligning myself with
Dontae and creating a working

Adapted Crisis Response Plan For Hilo Intermediate School
Adapted Crisis Response Plan Based on the presented information, the following adapted crisis
intervention protocols and plan are suggested for Hilo Intermediate School, and could also be
implemented in other schools within the district with adaptation as needed for each individual school s
unique needs. Additionally, it should be noted that while these steps are presented in a step format,
steps can be skipped or repeated as needed to assist in responding to varying crises, emergencies, and
disasters. First, a comprehensive school counseling program would be implemented that provided
preventative as well as intervention strategies that could help to prevent a crisis or intervene before a
crisis occurred (ASCA, 2012). The school counselor would provide classroom guidance lessons to
reach all students that would promote areas such as self esteem, and coping strategies. Further, the
counselor would provide professional development for teachers to look for warning signs such as
aggressive behavior and withdrawal, and refer them for individual or group counseling. During a
crisis, the first school personnel on the scene or with the person in crisis would assess and take control
of the situation until an administrator or other designee arrived. This would help with providing
students and others with clear directions and next step to take, thus alleviating anxiety. Next, the
person would address life safety, and call 911 or designate someone to call 911 (SHDOE, 2009). This

Allusion To The River Of Lethe Literary Devices

the poem above. There s an allusion to the River of Lethe, which is a river in Greek mythology,
indicating that if one drinks from it, would cause forgetfulness. The memories that the speaker has
about her lover, would be gone and she would finally forget him. But yet there seems to be this irony,
as the speaker claims she will forget him, but yet finds herself reflecting on these memories.
Moreover, there s another allusion and that is time. Although, its in the form of a metaphor the speaker
thought she had forever with this guy. But comes

Frederick Douglas In His Discourse, What To The Slaves,
Frederick Douglas in his discourse, What to the Slaves, Is the Fourth of July , expressively sets up the
deceptions predominant in American culture amid the 1800 s. He was made a request to give a
discourse at an abolitionist servitude meeting amid a Fourth of July festivity, and he accepted that
open door to dishearten the foundation of subjection. He esteemed it double dealing for the
abolitionist subjugation constituents to request that he convey such a discourse. Considering he was, a
dark man and got away slave it appeared to Douglas a little oxymoronic to talk on this specific
occasion. Nonetheless, the occasion made the ideal kairos for him to present his contention: why

might Douglas turn out to be so forceful? The minor certainty that they requested that Douglas give

for slaves. Remembering their inadvertent obliviousness Douglas steers into a more forceful approach
in the later segments of the discourse. Making the tone of the discourse inactive forceful. He spends a

Analysis Of Siddhartha
Life Lessons Siddhartha was laying down by the river contemplating life. What is the point of living
when you just are not happy? Siddhartha passed out beside the river. Then his childhood best friend
came along and waited till Siddhartha awoke and made sure he was ok and helped him get back on his
feet. Keep in mind Siddhartha had changed a lot and at first Govinda did not even know who he was,
but he stayed to help him anyway. That says a lot about a person. Siddhartha, written by Hermann
Hesse, shows the ups and downs of life. Along the way Siddhartha has many tough challenges he

many heartfelt lessons. One day Siddhartha came to his father ... Show more content on

realizes how much Govinda did for him after he reaches nirvana. Siddhartha in a way rewards
Govinda for being such a good friend by giving him nirvana. Siddhartha is finally not just caring for
himself. He is learning how to be very kind to others and help them along the way as the Ferryman did
for him. After Siddhartha is at a very low point in his life he decides to cross over the river. There he
sees a woman. Siddhartha has not seen a woman in a long time. He wanders into town and meets a
beautiful lady named Kamala. Kamala is like an angel in the eyes of Siddhartha. Siddhartha begs
Kamala to teach him how to love. At first Kamala is not really wanting to teach Siddhartha. She tells
him that she only teaches this to men who have a lot of money, are nicely dressed, and clean.
Siddhartha does not give up though, and he writes a poem for Kamala. Kamala is in love with this
poem Siddhartha wrote and decides to help Siddhartha. He talked to her, learned from her, gave her
advice, received advice. She understood him more than Govinda. (Hesse 84) Along this very

A Cloud Supply Chain Management
A Cloud Supply Chain Management approach to Small Business
Small businesses are entering into a new era where older value systems and relationships are changing
into digital ecosystems with emerging complex relationships.
In the book, Being Digital, Nicholas Negroponte the Director of MIT s Media Lab introduces a simple
and powerful model for describing and predicting the effects of digital technology on information
exchange; he suggests that we re moving from a time where information is traded as atoms or Evian
bottles to a time where information is traded as bits. He suggests further that moving from atoms to
bits will have a particular sociological effect: As we interconnect ourselves, many of the values of a
nation state will give way to those of both larger and smaller electronic communities. We will
socialize in digital neighborhoods in which physical space will be irrelevant and time will play a
different role. Twenty years from now, when you look out a window, what you will see may be five
thousand miles and six time zones away (Negroponte, 2015).
Small business needs to be digitally wired due to the merging of physical boundaries with the stateless
digital technology. If a small business doesn t reinvent itself in the modern digital sphere, it will lose
its existence due to technological disruption. Embracing and integrating the modern cloud
technologies into every aspect of the business (Manufacturing, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales and
services) is

  • 2. Pinto Safety Essay In 1969, Ford had to make an affordable car for the public and 2 years later amidst competition from other car manufacturers, Ford rushed production of the Pinto to get it on the road quicker. The car cost two thousand dollars and over 12.5 million were massed produced by Ford over the span of 9 years. Facing the need to make the car cost efficient, corners were cut by Ford and certain standards of safety for the car weren t met and the area where the bumper and the fuel tank were missing key components imperative to safety this meant rear end collisions would rupture the Pinto s fuel system extremely easily. Safety wasn t a popular subject around Ford in those days. With Lee it was taboo. Whenever a problem was raised that meant a delay on the Pinto, Lee would chomp on his cigar, look out the window and say Read the product objectives and get back to work. Safety was not a popular subject because safety would cost for eleven dollars for each cars to be implemented with a redesign to make sure that it does not set on fire when struck by another car. Ford tallied up the cost of these implemented safety measures to be around 137 million dollars, on the other hand did the math for the amount of people that would be affected meaning set on fire or severely injured, and worse die due to the car going into production without the safety implementations which the company estimated to be around 49 million dollars with that number came the estimation that there would be 180 buyers who would die by burning, serious burns injuries for 180 more buyers and 2100 vehicles burn beyond all ... • 3. Dr. Martin Luther King s Principles Of Nonviolence Dr. Martin Luther King s philosophy showed not only Americans but humans in general the necessity to fight for equality and real freedom without hurting those who oppose our points of view. Dr. King s Six Principles of Nonviolence have become a bible for those fighting for the most just causes in the planet and years after his dead his knowledge and ideals still inspiring people from different races, religions and cultures. In Venezuela a man called Leopoldo Lopez is a living example of the validity Dr. King s values have in our time. Lopez was the head of a movement to ask for the resignation of Venezuela s dictator Nicolas Maduro through pacific demonstrations on the street all over the country. Venezuelans response to Lopez s call was tremendous and thousands of people went out to the streets to reestablish the democracy and the dignity of a country where toilet paper, milk, diapers and other basic goods are a privilege. Maduro s forces tried to silent the people by using violence. The final results were 43 demonstrators dead, thousands injured and around 1500 arrested including Lopez. But Lopez arrest was not a normal one. After the first demonstration in Caracas, the government issued an order to detain Lopez. It was not the first time the party in power tried to silent Lopez, he has been a victim of multiple accusations including an order to restrict his right to be elected in any political position. Lopez decided to turn himself in to the authorities in front ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Identity In The Outsiders A lot of events and people helped change Ponyboy s worldview and identity. A red headed girl named Sherri Valance, was one of those people. An event which influenced Ponyboy, was the car crash which killed his parents. A third thing which impacted Ponyboy, was the Rumble with the Socs. Many things occurred in The Outsiders which shaped Ponyboy s identity, such as Cherry, Ponyboy s parents dying and the Rumble. Sherri Valance helped change Ponyboy s worldview. She shaped him because he realized that not all Socs were as bad or as lucky as he once thought. When Cherry was talking to Ponyboy at the movie theater, she told him, all Socs aren t like that , showing some of them are good. Cherry also helped Ponyboy realize that the Socs have problems too. During the conversation, Cherry also told him, We (the Socs) have troubles you never heard of . He thought before that the Socials had good grades, cars and girls, madras, mustangs and corvairs; and if he had troubles like that he would be lucky. Ponyboy also had a new understanding that the Socs and Greasers both have had a hard, bad, rough life. Sherri told Ponyboy that, things are rough all over , which demonstrates that the two ... • 6. Essay about Joan Of Arc By Jules Basten Lepage Joan of Arc, was painted by the French realist artist Jules Bastien Lepage in 1879. After the province of Lorraine was lost to Germany following the Franco Prussian War in 1821, The Frenchmen saw in Joan of Arc a new and powerful symbol. In 1875, Bastien Lepage, a native of Lorraine began to make studies for a picture of her. In the present painting, exhibited in the Salon of 1880, Joan is shown receiving her revelation in her parents garden. Behind her are Saints Michael, Margaret, and Catherine. (Caption next to painting in The Metropolitan) Jules Bastien Lepage creates a realistic atmosphere, including a supernatural, religious like presence within his painting. Oil on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This makes her a more easily visible aspect in the painting, and catches the onlookers eye. Joan is dressed in a long brown skirt and blue gray shirt with white underneath which is the typical clothing style of the 19th century. The clothing is painted to show its wear and tear. Her features and her figure are quite realistic. She seems to have a calm, but troubled expression on her face, as though she is deep in thought. Overall she is painted in a very detailed manner. A less visible, yet still present and important aspect of the painting are the three figures positioned behind Joan, and in front of the house. The figures are somewhat transparent, and ghostly. Their presence adds a spiritual and or religious feeling to the scene. These three figures presence blends into the scenery. Al three have halos above their heads, and serene looks on their faces. The saint on the right is dressed in what looks to be armor. He looks brave, and as if he is standing guard or going into battle. The middle saint is a praying angel. She is in a dress with a gauzy, white presence around her. This whiteness gives her an ethereal quality which Bastien Lepage has painted quite effectively, and adds to the spiritual feeling of the scene. Her presence in the painting seems to represent chastity and virtue. The last figure looks like a young girl or child, who is kneeling with her face hidden in her hands almost as if she is ... • 7. Fleet Tracking Essay X Fleet Tracking Tips To Increase Efficiency Profit Fuel, maintenance and repair, and insurance costs are all expenses every fleet incurs. The fleet that manages these costs the most efficiently has a competitive advantage, and will enjoy greater earnings. Following are three fleet tracking tips to increase efficiency and profit. Fuel Fuel is the largest operating expense for fleets. Taking tight control of this expense can bring about significant economic benefits. GPS tracking systems offer huge advantages to fleet managers because they make fuel purchases, and use, transparent. Managers are able to view when and where fuel purchases or made, and by whom. They can view reports that systematically display cost per mile, as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The optimized route details the most efficient, and cost effective course, and deviations from that itinerary, generally reduce the profit of the load. Fleet management software can include the preferred fuel stops into the route. Using complex algorithms, the program calculates how far off the route the fuel stop is, while weighing in the cost of the fuel at that station. Refueling stops, that reflect the least route departure, at the maximum cost savings, are part of the planned route the driver will follow. This eliminates many of the deadhead miles that result in reaching an off course refueling station. Driving Performance The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that driver impact on fuel efficiency is, as much as, 33%. GPS fleet management systems monitor driving behavior that waste fuel, such as hard acceleration, excessive use of air conditioning, hard breaking, idling, and driving at inconsistent speeds. These behaviors often improve when drivers become aware that they are being monitored, however, fleet managers can trigger alerts for driving actions that are both unsafe, and wasteful of fuel. Preventative Maintenance and Repair Maintenance and repair are the second largest operational expenses for fleets. Professionals advocate that a rigorous regimen of preventative maintenance is essential for efficient and profitable fleet management. Not only does preventative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Walter Rauschenbusch Social Gospel In A Theology for the Social Gospel by Walter Rauschenbusch (1917), and Love and Justice: Selections from the Shorter Writings of Reinhold Niebuhr (1957) are both sensitively passionate about people, and the social gospel presented to them. Gonzalez shares, Rauschenbusch is amongst a small core of liberals that devote their efforts to exploring and showing the relationship between the demands of the gospel and the misery in which the urban masses lived. He insisted that the social and economic life of the nation should conform to the requirements of the gospel, and showed that economic liberalism the theory that the law of supply and demand suffices to regulate the marketplace results in great inequity and social injustice. The task of Christian in that context is to seek to limit the unbridled power of runaway capital, and to advocate the enactment of laws that will aid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The social gospel plainly concentrates religious interest on the great ethical problems of social life. The more the social gospel engages and inspires theological thought, the more religion is concentrated on ethical righteousness. The social gospel is bound to be a reformatory and Christianizing force inside of theology (p.15). The social gospel approximates lay religion. It deals with the ethical problems of the present life with which the common man is familiar and which press upon his conscience. Yet it appeals to God, his will, his kingdom; to Christ, his spirit, his law. There will be an increase of health when theology takes in hand the problems of social redemption and considers how its doctrines connect with the Kingdom of God in actual realization (p.17). Baby Led Weaning Book Report I chose to read, Baby led Weaning: the essential guide to introducing solid foods and helping your baby to grow up a happy and confident eater by Gill Rapley and Tracey Murkett for my parenting book report. Baby led weaning (BLW) is essentially giving the baby the control to choose when, how, and what they want to eat. According to the authors BLW has many benefits that include: its enjoyable for both parents and babies, its natural, babies learn about foods, learn how to eat safely, learning about the world, reaching their potential with hand eye coordination, gives babies confidence to make their own decisions, trusting food, allows babies to be apart of family meals, helps with appetite control, better nutrition, long term health, learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First of all, I think it could be difficult to have babies eat with the whole family because the focus it is not on the baby. This could be good in that the baby is not always getting attention or learning they will get all the attention whenever they want it, but also could be dangerous if the baby does decide to swallow food before they figure out chewing first. Time could be an issue as well, most families are busy and do not have the time to sit and wait for their babies to play with their food. Infants are starting to explore their sensorimotor skills and need the time to do so. According to Piaget s six sub stages of sensorimotor development, from the 1to 4 months babies are in the first habits and primary circular reactions stage in which they repeat a body sensation that was first experienced by chance. The stage babies will start BLW is secondary circular reactions. In this stage the infant becomes more object oriented, moving beyond self preoccupation, and the repeated actions bring the infants fascinating or satisfying results. The BLW seems to promote this stage of sensorimotor development through exploration of different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Epic Of Gilgamesh, And The Mahabharata The journey, the hero, the triumph, and the defeat are all elements that some of literatures greatest works have encaptured, such as: the Ramayana, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Mahabharata. Each of these texts depicts a hero or protagonist that is unique to their culture and although each of these heroes embark on a different journey with different purposes and goals in mind, they all display a variety of features that people of then and now can relate to. It becomes transparent that each of the journeys these heroes undertake are a lot like that of the lives of people today. The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest pieces of literature known to man. Written in 2700 B.C.E this epic poem centers in on an ancient king of Uruk in present day Iraq. When we are first introduced to Gilgamesh, the king of Uruk, we see that he is a tyrant ruler which is one third human, two thirds divine and in endowed with immense strength. Instead of serving his people he suppresses them and engages in immoral behaviors fit for a king. The behaviors result in a backlash from his citizens and the nobles began to complain bitterly about these behaviors. The gods eventually intervene and in order to tame Gilgamesh s wild spirit they create his equal, Enkidu, whose purpose in this epic poem is to help guide Gilgamesh in becoming a better person and a better king for his people. • 12. Family And Family Life 50 years ago, a prominent stereotype in America portrayed the men as hardworking breadwinners while on the opposite side of the spectrum the woman stayed home taking care of the house, children, cooking and cleaning. In the current generation, a lot has changed, roles have slightly switched and men and women both have the opportunity to work in the field they desire. These changes have brought new values and brought forth many obstacles with balancing the family/work life. Although the stereotype about the father being the one working and the mother staying home changed significantly over the years, when both parents are working and trying to keep their family together there are many obstacles that come along. In today s society, many face the complication of not being able to spend enough time with their children due to work, not being as flexible in balancing the work life versus family life and having to face the situation of trying to pick between choosing their child over a dream job. To begin with, today it is very common that both parents go to work in order to support their family, but sometimes either mom, dad, or both can be working too much and not realize that they can be missing out on being a part of their child s life later regretting their pass decisions as their children grow older. It is very common that some parents put more time into working rather than spending time with their child and do not realize that it affects their family and their child due to ... • 13. Mealsault And Meursault In Albert Camus s The Stranger The characters observed in Albert Camus s book, The Stranger, are human; they aren t anything more or anything less. Every human is cruel and unusual in one way or the other. People are inhumane to each other and make irrational decisions, but they are still considered human. Characters like Raymond and the magistrate exhibit these traits. From the view of people, remaining completely objective to any given subject is impossible. There always is bias and opinion in their thought process. However, Meursault is not every person. His decisions are impulsive, based purely on facts and his surroundings. People cannot understand Meursault because he can take everything at face value with only himself as the center of relativity; no one else can do that. People like the priest try to understand it but cannot, so they try changing Meursault instead. Others like Raymond take advantage of it. They all are indifferent towards Meursault s understanding. Meursault is seen as the absurdity of the world because he sees the discrepancies of other people s lives head on by being objective to their actions, behaviors, and beliefs while remaining steadfast towards his own reality. Raymond was the most morally unjust person that interacted with Meursault, which shows Meursault s objectivity towards choices between good and evil. Throughout the novel Meursault associates with Raymond even in wake of his peer s poor opinions of Raymond s character. Meursault listens and does whatever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The lax rule attracted ethnically diverse immigrants from European countries who sought economic opportunities, religious freedom, and escape from their violent homelands. Africans also contributed to the diverse heritage of America by involuntarily migrating to America. The lax rule plus the diverse demographic prompted the Stono Rebellion and Salem Witch Trials which reflected the economic, political and social tensions of colonial society. The Stono Rebellion and Salem Witch Trials both reflect economic tensions but the Stono Rebellion was due to a slave based economy while economic disparity played role in the Salem Witch trials. However, the effectiveness on a global scale is uncertain as to whether diminishing habitats will wreak havoc on the polar bear populations in the future.
