The Messenger In Antigone
The Messenger delivers an important news to Creon is that Haimon is death, and Antigone killed
herself in the cave. I think that the Messenger means when he says that Harmon was driven mad is
that Haimon went crazy and killed himself because his own father; Creon, killed his girlfriend.
I think that Creon went to bury Polyneices before releasing Antigone because he is afraid that
Antigone will interrupt him while he s doing the burial if there is any mistake or dissatisfaction that
Antigone may seem to have for his brother Polyneices. So that when he release Antigone, Polyneices
burial has been done, and Antigone can t complaint about any mistakes that happened while burying.
Yes, I think that if Creon have release Antigone before burying Polyneices, Haimon and Antigone
would come back together because of their power of love, and this tragic will not going to happen.

Cory Arnold Research Paper
Hi there! I m Cory Arnold, an English teacher in his fifth year in Japan with four years of experience
teaching at junior high and elementary schools in Japan. My first year was as an exchange student at
Kandai Gaidai in Osaka, where I studied language with Japanese students. That caused my interest in
studying Japanese language to expand to linguistics and foreign language in a broader sense, leading
me to become an English teacher. Primarily working at junior high school, much of my work is
focused on instructing proper English grammar, spelling and pronunciation. Along with speech contest
coaching, I make and grade worksheets, tests, and activities to practice all four aspects of language
(reading, writing, speaking, listening).

Eldorado Comparison
Similar to the HG Wells story, in the poem Eldorado by Edgar Allen Poe the romance genre is
demonstrated through a place apart, and also demonstrates a serpent in the garden. This is
demonstrated through the knight and the shadow trying to find Eldorado; a place/county that was
known for having the most gold during the gold rush in 1848. In the first stanza of the poem
everything seems perfect Gaily bedight, A gallant knight, In sunshine and in shadow , although still
when the second stanza starts the knight is in the same optimistic state; that he will eventually find
Eldorado and prosper. There are still glimpses of a gloomy future, the knight is old, a shadow is
growing over his heart, and he is failing his quest. The shadow that was originally

How Do Magazine Advertisements Affect Women
Women are the main targets in magazine advertisements; they take advantage and manipulate the
female beauty and their bodies by making it overrated. The societies expectation of women have
harmed us and our generation. Consequently, there are over millions of magazine sold because of the
way companies diminish the female gender. It affects women greatly by limiting their abilities to take
bigger and risky steps in life. The advertisement images only teach us and influence little children that
women should have little value, the ideal female beauty, and gain disrespect for women. In the
American society advertisements expose the female body in a negative way because it influences

Easy You Are Likely Going The Wrong Way Analysis
If the road is easy, you re likely going the wrong way. What this means is that people need struggles in
their daily lives to accomplish desired goals which might not be easy. This is so true such as living in
the 21st century where their is constant violence towards people fighting for peace and a better
tomorrow. There is a film, The Lone Survivor, that also shows people experiencing violence fighting
for peace in Afghanistan. Also, there is the movie, The Lost Boys, where people fight for survival and

What Are The Eight Steps Of Kotter s Eight Step Model
The change model that I applied for the project was the Kotter s Eight Step Process (Kohn, 2005).
Within the Eight Step Process, it illustrates the major phases such as creating a climate for change,
engaging and enabling the organization and implementing and sustaining the change. In each of the
phases it has the building blocks that are required for each level to be assure that change can occur.
The main phase that I used from Kotter s Eight Step Process was the creating a climate for change
phase. In the creating a climate for change phase it has the increase of urgency, build guiding teams
and get the vision right. How I applied this phase of the model to the project was that I knew if I
present my suggestion with great motivation and with heighten energy to the match specialist and to
the board members, they are able to see that I am serious in making a positive change. I also am aware
that I needed to speak with the correct board members first who were willing to listen and expressed
that some change needed to occur within the organization. This is the reason ... Show more content on

By demonstrating a sense of urgency and delivering my suggestion during the fundraiser event in a

my corner from a few months ago that heard my suggestions in the past. The people that had the right
behavior by being focused, committed to the change that I wanted to do, were people in positions in
which they had a big influence towards the program. I also felt that by using this phase of the model,
the goal of the change that I wanted for the Big Sister Program was considered to be achievable and

Pinnne By Sharon G. Flake Summary
I am currently reading the book Pinned by Sharon G. Flake. I started reading this because I ve read
one of Sharon s books before. She takes the epitomes of realistic fiction and writes a recreated version.
One fantastic thing she s done in this book is create an arsenal of three dimensional characters. One of
the main characters is Autumn. She is described as a tenacious girl who battles dyslexia. She also is
the best wrestler in her class. Immediately on the first page, the author begins with, Here s what I like
about wrestling. You work hard and you can be somebody in this sport. And it doesn t matter if you re
big or small. Fat or skinny. Rocking killer grades or not (1). As I read on in the book I realized that
this was Autumn s point of view. Later Adonis states, For Autumn to win so often speaks volumes
about her determination, strength and training (82). This quote shows how hard Autumn works to be
the best wrestler. I ain t too good of a student. I wrestle, bake (114). Even though she wasn t one of the
best students, she continues to practice reading difficult words. She s always optimistic and she is
determined to make Adonis can like her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

difference. The quote is about not being lazy and taking the easy way out and this song is about that, it

The Art Of Budgeting During The Great Depression
The Great Depression was a time of hardship and sacrifice for many families across Canada. With
many unemployed married men out roaming across Canada, looking for any means of income, it was
up to housewives to make ends meet with what little they had. Were Canadian housewives the reason
why many families survived the 1930s? To answer this question I will look at how Canadian
housewives managed the family finances, influenced change in their communities and made sacrifices
to make sure their families could make it to the next month. In my essay I will first look at how many
Canadian women mastered the art of careful budgeting during the great depression. Much like the

Internal Identity Conflicts In Lord Furnival, By Nathaniel...
Crispin s identity is something that he struggles with throughout the book. At the beginning of the
book, his name is Asta s son since he lives with his mother and never knew his father. He grew up
with no personal name and little dignity because he and his mother were so poor. Later, he becomes
the servant of Bear and finds out he is the son of Lord Furnival, the Lord of his small village and
various others throughout England. Simply because of the fact he is Lord Furnival s son, he is sought
to be silenced and killed. At the end of the book, he chooses to become what he wants to really be, a
free man who decides where his own path will take him. Crispin realizes that he ultimately decides
who he will serve while doing what action. The social restrictions that previously bind him are cut off
and he begins his new life. The picture with the question mark in the man s head represents the
internal identity conflict.
When John Aycliffe, the steward from Crispin s village, declares Crispin a wolf s head, it becomes
legal for anyone to kill Crispin. Whoever spots him, may kill him and reap a monetary award. Crispin
does not realize until the end of the book why he is to be killed. Much conflict of the book stems from
the escaping and dodging of men searching for Crispin. He always has the fear that he will be spotted
in one of the towns while he and Bear are performing. His fears become true when he is spotted in
Great Wexley. The picture used to represent this key event in the

First, patients with PTSD are often socially isolated and have difficulty trusting others (p. 690). They

Electromyography
Electromyography (EMG) is a way of measuring muscle electrical activity and use it in medical
diagnoses which refers to muscle performance. The electric activity generated during muscle
activation, known as the myoelectric signal, is generated from small electrical currents generated by
the exchange of ions across the muscle membranes and detected with the help of surface electrodes
[1]. EMG make us generate force, create movements and allow us to do countless other functions
through which we can interact with the world around us. The EMG is a bioelectric signal which has,
over the years, developed a vast range of applications. Clinically, EMG is being used as diagnostic
tool for neurological disorders. It is frequently being used for assessment of patients with

movie to illustrate important themes, ideas and aspects to the viewers. Salvatore includes aspects such
as cinematography, colour, symbolism and sound in these important scenes to help develop and

that demonstrates all of these aspects is The Captured Scene.

Michele is just about to climb out after saying goodbye to Filippo, when single piano notes start to
play. The piano builds up in intensity and volume, creating a lot of tension in the audience and movie.
After the piano comes to a surprising halt, the audience thinks that everything is alright and that
nothing was going to happen in the end. However just after the music stops, Salvatore s older brother
Skull, comes and takes the rope from Michele, trapping both him and Filippo in the hole. This sudden
movement and action makes the unexpecting audience jump in fright. The director chose this type of
tension build up, then complete silence to assure the audience that nothing was going to happen. Then
just as they were vulnerable, surprise them with a jumpscare to make the moment even scarier then it
could be if the music kept going. Eerie music is not the only thing that makes this part of the scene
significant, camera work also ties in the make it feel as if Michele is truly trapped. When Skull comes
and takes the rope, a low angle shot is used. The purpose of a low angle shot is to give the illusion that
it s from Michele s height. Because Michele is all the way in a deep hole and Skull is on the surface,
this makes Skull seem a lot bigger. This means that Skull also has the advantage, as he has more
power and control while he is a lot higher then Michele.

once Persia until 1935, Iran. The official language of Iran is but not limited to Persian. Also spoken in
Iran is Azeri Turkic and Turkic, Mazandarani, Luri, Balochi, Gilaki and Arabic. Iran s population
includes Persians, Kurds, Lur, Baloch, Azeri, Arab, and Turkic tribes. Islam is the dominating religion
with around 99.4% of the population being Muslim. An Islamic Republic was formed in 1979 after the
ruling monarchy was overthrown. A theocratic system was then created by the conservative clerical
forces which dictates that the laws of the land as being secular and based on Islamic law.

Classical vocal improvised music has some, while composed, metric pieces with ceremonial
implications, such as the pishdaramad, are definitely musiqi but lack the full range of objectionable
characteristics suggested in pieces with a primarily virtuoso intent, such as the chahar mezrab, or of
Westernized music, to say nothing of absolutely secular music such as night club performances. All of
this suggests that, in contemporary urban Iran, the sounds that might be considered to be simply music
in Western culture might be regarded as music, but to varying degrees.
The dominant sounds in Iran are the metallic and clear sounds. Persian classical music has free form
which can be measured or not and is open to improvisation (âvâz/ chahârmezrâb). Moreover, from one
maqâm (system of melodic modes) to another, all the melodies resemble each other, differing mainly
by their scale. It is an ingenuous imitation technique, which has been developed by the Central Asian
masters. The musical form has no rules. Styles vary from calls at a measured pace on a single note, or
within a narrow range centred on one note, to richly melismatic chants with a wide range. Rhythmic
structure is influenced by the length of the syllables in the text. Textual repetition often leads to
repeated musical phrases differing only in their final note. Unusually,

Deviance Social Control
The following article opened up by firstly stating that as social units becomes larger with
differentiations, people are going to become accustomed to social control which is currently foreign to
modern day living. Gibbs, the writer of the article, challenges sociologists to question norms, deviance
and social control so that they will be able to formulate a different concept of what social control is.
The writer points out that current theory of social control only associate it with organizations and
institutions. This means that the theories nowadays think that social control naturally flows from
organizations and institutions. The article further explains that deviance was always seen as a behavior
that is contrary to a norm, but eventually

Cause And Effect Of Tsunamis
On December 26th, 2004, one of the largest megathrust earthquakes ever recorded struck the coast of
Indonesia. The energy released was equivalent to the eruption of 23,000 Hiroshima sized atomic
bombs (Pickrell, 2005). Dangerous waves, known as tsunamis, began radiating from the epicenter
crashing into the shores of 11 Indian Ocean countries. Destruction occurred reaching countries in
Africa to Thailand (Risk Management Solutions, 2006). Thailand was hit by the tsunami
approximately 90 minutes after the initial earthquake, killing hundreds of thousands of people (Lusted,
2008). The waves of the tsunami reached heights of four to 39 meters, travelling up to five kilometers
inland. Due to the flat topography of the Banda Aceh region, wave height was approximately four to
eight meters, whereas height in the hilly areas was larger (Cluff, 2008).
Causes
Tsunamis
A tsunami is a series of waves that are produced by large oceanic earthquakes or volcanic eruptions at
tectonic plate boundaries. These waves may reach 100 feet and cause extensive damage in areas that
are densely populated, especially if proper warning systems are lacking. Reaching speeds of up to 500
miles/hour, the waves can travel across the Pacific Ocean in less than 24 hours (Ramalanjaona, 2011).
Tsunamis that are caused by a magnitude 7.5 7.8 earthquake are relatively local in nature and will not
damage regions that are distant. However, secondary effects can still cause trigger events such as

Review Of Polychronicity And Scheduling
Some of the problems DSI have experience are basic problems. The company was run by doctors and
they assumed the salespeople could manage without a manager. Before their sales manager,
salespeople were selling to the same companies and infringing on each other territory. There were not
any territorial alignments. This caused salespeople to be unorganized and they were not efficient with
their time (Johnston Marshall, 2010).
In the article Polychronicity and Scheduling s Role in Reducing Role Stress and Enhancing Sales
Performance the writers talk about stress and the role it plays on an employee that is in sales. The
writer suggests it is important to hire someone that is the right fir for the job. One important fact the
writers talk about is planning and maximizing one s time. When an employee does not maximize his
time, it creates stress and stress can cause an employee to be ineffective. The article puts emphasis on
time scheduling and it can be defines as planning and allocating time. DSI s problems are time and
planning issues which were described in the article. The article talked about the organizations conduct

hire qualified salespeople that will help drive the business (Fournier, Weeks, Blocker, Chonko, 2013).

Presidential Election And Campaign Recommendations
Re: Analysis of the 2012 Presidential Elections and Campaign Recommendations
After analyzing the different strategies used in the 2012 presidential election by candidates Barack
Obama and Mitt Romney, I have gathered enough information to lead you, Candidate Smith, into a
path of success, and in the hope to help you reach presidency. The key element that made Obama
successful, was the usage of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, etc. Therefore,
I hope you have at least one account running in your favor, if not that will be the first thing on the
agenda. So first, I will explain the possibilities for video ad campaigns and the power they have to
persuade the people. Second, I will go over statistics for the Swing States of Nevada and Wisconsin, in
order to understand our demographic that is there ethnicities, income, education, and most importantly
to understand their needs, that way we can start brainstorming on how we can help them prosper. And
third, I will explain how Obama s campaign was managed and what made him successful, moreover,
how he was able to utilize social media to engage and relate to the citizens.
Analysis of Romney V. Obama Video Ad Campaigns

Two countries, located side by side in the Mediterranean sea. They share a similar climate, the

I have visited both countries and each will forcibly claim to have invented national dishes. I have even

Moussaka is another dish with claims to both nations. In Turkey, it is sautéed and served in the style of
a casserole, and consumed warm or at room temperature. In Arabic countries, a variant is eaten cold.
In the Balkans, the dish is layered and typically served hot. Many versions have a top layer made of
milk based sauce thickened with egg. The modern Greek version was probably formulated in the
1920s in Athens. It has three layers that are separately cooked before being combined for the final
baking: a bottom layer of sliced eggplant sautéed in olive oil; a middle layer of ground lamb lightly
cooked with chopped or puréed tomatoes, onion, garlic, and spices (cinnamon, allspice and black

This concept was carried over into the NAFTA. Chapter 8 of the NAFTA permits, under specified
conditions, the parties to impose a temporary, emergency safeguard measure that is, an increase in the
tariff to the prevailing MFN level in the event imports cause, or threaten to cause, serious injury to
domestic producers. In 2008, a NAFTA partner could, assuming the associated conditions are
satisfied, invoke a Chapter 8 safeguard provision until 1 year following full implementation of the
NAFTA commitments, i.e., until January 1, 2009. Beyond January 1, 2009, the NAFTA Partner could

Arguments For Illegal Immigrants
The issue of illegal immigrants has raised heated debate in the U.S., after President Trump clarified his
stand on immigration. He maintained that under his plan, there is no legalization path for the illegal
immigrants that reside here currently, unless it is that they have served in the armed forces. Presently,
it is estimated that there are over 11 million illegal / undocumented immigrants in the United States.
He plans to have them deported and once returned home, then may they apply for re entry. The 1952
Act of Immigration and Nationality, defines illegal immigrants also known as illegal aliens as
individuals who are not U.S. nationals or citizens. Some of these undocumented people, have lived in
the U.S. for many years and even raised families here. Although, some may argue that the illegal
immigrants are a burden to the nation s economy and keep wages lower. They have contributed
towards building this country for decades and significantly contribute to state taxes. I feel it would be
impractical and inhumane to deport all illegal immigrants. The U.S. government should offer the
illegal aliens a path to obtain citizenship or legal residency.
Why Give Illegal Immigrants Legal Residency/Citizenship?

The Shawshank Redemption And American Psycho
Psychology by definition is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those
affecting behavior in a given context. Every brain is biologically and chemically different, and how
these chemicals react in your brain and body can have an effect on the person s characteristics. The
two movies that I chose to watch were The Shawshank Redemption and American Psycho. In The
Shawshank Redemption there is a clear case of a mentally healthy character and in American Psycho
there is a very definitive sign of a character with a mental disorder. In The Shawshank Redemption,
Andy Dufresne is portrayed by Tim Robbins and in American Psycho, Patrick Bateman is played by

Health Issues Of Health Of Women And Infants Essay
When a child is born the mother is also born again, as rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker. Childbirth
is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and we, as women, should feel proud
to be major contributors for it. A mother plays a key role in aiding healthcare workers to mitigate the
health crisis associated with childbirth by performing her duties faithfully. One such associated health
crisis is Premature (preterm) birth which occurs when the baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of
gestational period(CDC,2015). It is an important public health priority in terms of health of women
and infants.
Extent of this public health problem: Every year an estimated 15 million pretaerm babies are born and
this number is still rising.(WHO,2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10 babies born in United States were
premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born premature than white, Hispanic and
Asian/Pacific islander infants(CDC,2015). Almost 1 million children die each year due to
complications of premature birth(WHO,2015). A major challenge in decreasing the rate of preterm
birth is lack of knowledge about the etiologies and effective strategies for prevention. In order to
create awareness and mollify premature birth, a community based outreach program based on
Transtheoretical Model is proposed to strategically prevent premature birth among high risk
population of African American women.

Social Disorganization Theory And Crime
Starz Power , Social Disorganization Theory and Crime
Introduction:
In the television show Power , organized crime is the most prevalent form of crime displayed.
Organized crime can be defined as a methodically unlawful activity for profit on a city wide. interstate
and worldwide scale. The act of engaging in criminal activity as a structured assembly is called
racketeering in the United States. The premise of this project is to research social disorganization
theory as it pertains to the television series Power . Power catalogs the life of James St. Patrick, who is
also known as Ghost . Ghost has become a powerful figure in New York City s biggest drug network.
The series follows Ghost as he struggles with living a double life and his quest for legitimate business
ventures. As Ghost gets closer to legitimacy, a string of violent crimes began to take place within and
around his network. My research will incorporate the first two episodes of the first season. This paper
will present an analysis of organized crime from a sociological standpoint and uncover that social
disorganization creates a need for organized crime i.e drug networks and street gangs which increases
the occurrence of violent crime and other social disparities . I will investigate the relationship between
the presence of organized crime and social disparities n a disorganized society in my analysis of

The Penang Second Brigde in Malaysia
The Penang Second Bridge is one of the longest in Malaysia and also in the South East Asia region. It
is also known as the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge which is named after the Sultan of
Kedah. The bridge connects from Batu Kawan on the mainland to Batu Maung on the Penang Island.
It has an overall length of 24km and a length over water (displacement) of 16.9km. It is much longer
when compared to the Penang First Bridge which only has an overall length of 13.5km. The building
of this bridge has cost the government for RM4.5billion.
The planning of building the second bridge to link the mainland to the island has been brought up
back in the year of 1995 by the 4th Prime Minister which is Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad and also
the 3rd Chief Minister of Penang, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon. Later, Malaysian government unveiled
the plan to construct the bridge in August 2006. The project is implemented in the 9th Malaysian Plan.
It is the largest civil construction work carried out in Malaysia in the past 2 decades.
The construction of the bridge officially started in November 2008 after all the planning and

Why Should Smoking Be Allowed In Public Places
Before we get into the argument of whether smoking should be allowed in public places or not, we
first need to break the concept of smoking down to the beginning. First, let us answer the question of
what is smoking? Smoking refers to the inhalation and exhalation of fumes from burning tobacco in
cigars, cigarettes and pipes (Smoking). It was first used in the 1500s by the natives of the Western
Hemisphere for religious rituals and medicinal purposes (Smoking). Next, we to answer the question

Surrogate Parenting, Research Paper
The traditional road to motherhood eluded Vicki Juditz. Having waited until age 36 to start trying for a
baby, the actress and writer soon learned that reproductive problems had reduced her chances of
conceiving to about 1% (Zimmerman 1). In the article written by Janet Zimmerman after her interview
of actress Vicki Juditz, Juditz explains, My husband and I had very full lives and I guess we didn t feel
the pressure, we thought everything would fall into place when we were ready. I just assumed I would
have children some day (Zimmerman 1). In vitro fertilization put Juditz and her husband on the path
to parenthood and their surrogate helped them to get there. Their story is the subject of a play written
and performed b Juditz and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In such cases, a judgment of paternity is obtained, pre birth, to declare the intended father as the
biological father and legal father to the child. If the judgment is post birth, the intended mother
completes a step parent adoption in the county where the intended parents reside. (Masserman, 1).
Advantages appear to be numerous when it comes to these judgments. First, parental rights of the
surrogate and her husband are terminated prior to birth. Second, the intended mother avoids the time
consuming stepparent adoption process. Finally, insurance issues and financial documents are more
easily processed. (Masserman, 2). The most important legal document is the birth certificate. The
original birth certificate is issued with the names of the intended parents, with some pregnancy and
other statistical information of the surrogate. (Masserman, 2). The entire birth certificate file as well as
the stepparent adoption file (if applicable) is deemed a closed, confidential file. (Masserman, 1). A
recent legal puzzle is bringing about changes to the Florida courts. (Quinn, 1). In her September 14,
2002 editorial entitled, Old Law Fails In New Situation , Heidi Quinn discusses a recent dispute In
that case, the biological parents disputed the interpretation of the Illinois Parentage Act

The Infamous Civil War Prison Andersonville Essay
The Infamous Civil War Prison Andersonville
The Confederacy established Andersonville, that most infamous of Civil War prisons, in late February,
1864. It built a stockade in west central Georgia to accommodate approximately 10,000 prisoners of
war. As the fighting moved ever deeper into the South in the last year of the war, the expanded
stockade at one point held nearly 33,000 Union soldiers. The termination by the North of the prisoner
of war exchanges which had existed previously and the continually depleting resources of the
Confederacy left these prisoners stranded in miserable conditions.
By the end of the war, 13,000 of the total 45,000 prisoners had died. They were buried in shallow
trench graves with numbers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire regiment, except for one group on scout was captured at Union City, Tennessee on March
24, 1864 by a detachment of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest s regiment under the command of Col.
William L. Duckworth. The captured men were mainly from Carroll, Henderson and McNairy
Counties with some recruits from Henry, Weakley, Benton, Madison, Gibson, Hardin, and Decatur
counties. These men suffered horribly during the time they were prisoners. Two thirds of them died
within a year of the capture. Their high mortality rate can be attibuted both to the prison to which they
were sent and to the actions of their captors.
One group within the captors of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry USA was the 7th Tennessee Cavalry CSA.
Both groups were primarily West Tennesseans and there was intense ill feeling between them. Some
men were neighbors and personally knew each other. For the 7th Tennessee USA, the humiliation was
almost total. Colonel Duckworth tricked them into surrender when help was nearby. And, it was the
second time that Forrest s men had forced them to surrender. The first time at Trenton in December,
1862, they had been paroled and had spent their time at Camp Chase, Ohio. Some members of the
regiment, who were captured at Ripley and Mt. Pinson, Tennesse, had even spent a short time in
Richmond, Virginia in 1863 before being parolled once again. By March 1864, however, the Lincoln
government had stopped the exchanges. This time there

I think that the Messenger means when he says that Harmon was driven mad is that Haimon went crazy and killed himself because his own father; Creon, killed his girlfriend. I think that Creon went to bury Polyneices before releasing Antigone because he is afraid that Antigone will interrupt him while he s doing the burial if there is any mistake or dissatisfaction that Antigone may seem to have for his brother Polyneices. My first year was as an exchange student at Kandai Gaidai in Osaka, where I studied language with Japanese students. That caused my interest in studying Japanese language to expand to linguistics and foreign language in a broader sense, leading me to become an English teacher. Primarily working at junior high school, much of my work is focused on instructing proper English grammar, spelling and pronunciation. Along with speech contest coaching, I make and grade worksheets, tests, and activities to practice all four aspects of language (reading, writing, speaking, listening). ... Within the Eight Step Process, it illustrates the major phases such as creating a climate for change, engaging and enabling the organization and implementing and sustaining the change. In each of the phases it has the building blocks that are required for each level to be assure that change can occur. The main phase that I used from Kotter s Eight Step Process was the creating a climate for change phase. In the creating a climate for change phase it has the increase of urgency, build guiding teams and get the vision right. How I applied this phase of the model to the project was that I knew if I present my suggestion with great motivation and with heighten energy to the match specialist and to the board members, they are able to see that I am serious in making a positive change. She takes the epitomes of realistic fiction and writes a recreated version. One fantastic thing she s done in this book is create an arsenal of three dimensional characters. One of the main characters is Autumn. She is described as a tenacious girl who battles dyslexia. She also is the best wrestler in her class. Immediately on the first page, the author begins with, Here s what I like about wrestling. You work hard and you can be somebody in this sport. And it doesn t matter if you re big or small. Fat or skinny. Rocking killer grades or not (1). As I read on in the book I realized that this was Autumn s point of view. Later Adonis states, For Autumn to win so often speaks volumes about her determination, strength and training (82). This quote shows how hard Autumn works to be the best wrestler. I ain t too good of a student. I wrestle, bake (114). Even though she wasn t one of the best students, she continues to practice reading difficult words. • 19. Internal Identity Conflicts In Lord Furnival, By Nathaniel... Crispin s identity is something that he struggles with throughout the book. At the beginning of the book, his name is Asta s son since he lives with his mother and never knew his father. He grew up with no personal name and little dignity because he and his mother were so poor. Later, he becomes the servant of Bear and finds out he is the son of Lord Furnival, the Lord of his small village and various others throughout England. Simply because of the fact he is Lord Furnival s son, he is sought to be silenced and killed. At the end of the book, he chooses to become what he wants to really be, a free man who decides where his own path will take him. Crispin realizes that he ultimately decides who he will serve while doing what action. The social restrictions that previously bind him are cut off and he begins his new life. The picture with the question mark in the man s head represents the internal identity conflict. When John Aycliffe, the steward from Crispin s village, declares Crispin a wolf s head, it becomes legal for anyone to kill Crispin. Whoever spots him, may kill him and reap a monetary award. Crispin does not realize until the end of the book why he is to be killed. Much conflict of the book stems from the escaping and dodging of men searching for Crispin. The electric activity generated during muscle activation, known as the myoelectric signal, is generated from small electrical currents generated by the exchange of ions across the muscle membranes and detected with the help of surface electrodes [1]. EMG make us generate force, create movements and allow us to do countless other functions through which we can interact with the world around us. The EMG is a bioelectric signal which has, over the years, developed a vast range of applications. Clinically, EMG is being used as diagnostic tool for neurological disorders. One of the most important scenes in I m not Scared that demonstrates all of these aspects is The Captured Scene. However just after the music stops, Salvatore s older brother Skull, comes and takes the rope from Michele, trapping both him and Filippo in the hole. This sudden movement and action makes the unexpecting audience jump in fright. The director chose this type of tension build up, then complete silence to assure the audience that nothing was going to happen. Eerie music is not the only thing that makes this part of the scene significant, camera work also ties in the make it feel as if Michele is truly trapped. When Skull comes and takes the rope, a low angle shot is used. The purpose of a low angle shot is to give the illusion that it s from Michele s height. The energy released was equivalent to the eruption of 23,000 Hiroshima sized atomic bombs (Pickrell, 2005). Dangerous waves, known as tsunamis, began radiating from the epicenter crashing into the shores of 11 Indian Ocean countries. Destruction occurred reaching countries in Africa to Thailand (Risk Management Solutions, 2006). Thailand was hit by the tsunami approximately 90 minutes after the initial earthquake, killing hundreds of thousands of people (Lusted, 2008). The waves of the tsunami reached heights of four to 39 meters, travelling up to five kilometers inland. Due to the flat topography of the Banda Aceh region, wave height was approximately four to eight meters, whereas height in the hilly areas was larger (Cluff, 2008). • 37. Greek And Minoans Two countries, located side by side in the Mediterranean sea. They share a similar climate, the Mediterranean sun, and many of the same landscapes. With overlapping histories, they both have a shared but unique heritage, which is reflected in their cuisine. I have visited both countries and each will forcibly claim to have invented national dishes. I have even heard that the Turks invented pizza, the delicious Pide. However, I am sure the Italians would hotly dispute this point! To understand the similarities you need to understand the history. One of the earliest Greek civilisations were the Cretan Minoans. In Arabic countries, a variant is eaten cold. In the Balkans, the dish is layered and typically served hot. Many versions have a top layer made of milk based sauce thickened with egg. The modern Greek version was probably formulated in the 1920s in Athens. It has three layers that are separately cooked before being combined for the final baking: a bottom layer of sliced eggplant sautéed in olive oil; a middle layer of ground lamb lightly cooked with chopped or puréed tomatoes, onion, garlic, and spices (cinnamon, allspice and black pepper, undeniably an Ottoman influence); and a top layer of Béchamel sauce. Essay on North American Free Trade Agreement NAFTA NAFTA: North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) began on January 1, 1994, and is one of the United States most significant regional trade agreements. The final provisions of the NAFTA were fully implemented on January 1, 2008. With full implementation, the last remaining trade restriction on a handful of agricultural commodities such as U.S. exports to Mexico of corn, dry edible beans, nonfat dry milk and high fructose corn syrup and Mexican exports to the United States of sugar and certain horticultural products are now removed. This concept was carried over into the NAFTA. Chapter 8 of the NAFTA permits, under specified conditions, the parties to impose a temporary, emergency safeguard measure that is, an increase in the tariff to the prevailing MFN level in the event imports cause, or threaten to cause, serious injury to domestic producers. In 2008, a NAFTA partner could, assuming the associated conditions are satisfied, invoke a Chapter 8 safeguard provision until 1 year following full implementation of the NAFTA commitments, i.e., until January 1, 2009. Beyond January 1, 2009, the NAFTA Partner could maintain a safeguard arrangement only with the consent of the Party against whose good the action would be taken. He maintained that under his plan, there is no legalization path for the illegal immigrants that reside here currently, unless it is that they have served in the armed forces. Presently, it is estimated that there are over 11 million illegal / undocumented immigrants in the United States. He plans to have them deported and once returned home, then may they apply for re entry. The 1952 Act of Immigration and Nationality, defines illegal immigrants also known as illegal aliens as individuals who are not U.S. nationals or citizens. Some of these undocumented people, have lived in the U.S. for many years and even raised families here. Although, some may argue that the illegal immigrants are a burden to the nation s economy and keep wages lower. They have contributed towards building this country for decades and significantly contribute to state taxes. I feel it would be impractical and inhumane to deport all illegal immigrants. The U.S. government should offer the illegal aliens a path to obtain citizenship or legal residency. Why Give Illegal Immigrants Legal Residency/Citizenship? Every brain is biologically and chemically different, and how these chemicals react in your brain and body can have an effect on the person s characteristics. The two movies that I chose to watch were The Shawshank Redemption and American Psycho. In The Shawshank Redemption there is a clear case of a mentally healthy character and in American Psycho there is a very definitive sign of a character with a mental disorder. In The Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufresne is portrayed by Tim Robbins and in American Psycho, Patrick Bateman is played by Christian Bale. The Shawshank Redemption came out in 1994 and has been named one of the best movies to be produced. Shawshank provides a display of a mentally healthy character, Andy Dufresne, who was convicted for murder charges on his wife and her lover. Andy is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences, so needless to say he will be spending a long time in prison. Before Andy was convicted, he was a hot shot banker who made a surplus of money but people also claim he fell out of love with his wife. • 43. Health Issues Of Health Of Women And Infants Essay When a child is born the mother is also born again, as rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker. Childbirth is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and we, as women, should feel proud to be major contributors for it. A mother plays a key role in aiding healthcare workers to mitigate the health crisis associated with childbirth by performing her duties faithfully. One such associated health crisis is Premature (preterm) birth which occurs when the baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of gestational period(CDC,2015). It is an important public health priority in terms of health of women and infants. Extent of this public health problem: Every year an estimated 15 million pretaerm babies are born and this number is still rising.(WHO,2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10 babies born in United States were premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born premature than white, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific islander infants(CDC,2015). Almost 1 million children die each year due to complications of premature birth(WHO,2015). A major challenge in decreasing the rate of preterm birth is lack of knowledge about the etiologies and effective strategies for prevention. In order to create awareness and mollify premature birth, a community based outreach program based on Transtheoretical Model is proposed to strategically prevent premature birth among high risk population of African American women. If the judgment is post birth, the intended mother completes a step parent adoption in the county where the intended parents reside. (Masserman, 1). Advantages appear to be numerous when it comes to these judgments. First, parental rights of the surrogate and her husband are terminated prior to birth. Second, the intended mother avoids the time consuming stepparent adoption process. Finally, insurance issues and financial documents are more easily processed. (Masserman, 2).
