The Portrayal Of Nabedience And Power In Sylvia Plath s Daddy
Sylvia Plath s Daddy is addressed to the speaker s father. The speaker describes the father as a
looming, unhuman force that stifles her. She introduces him as being the black shoe / In which I have
lived like a foot / For thirty years , poor and white, Barely daring to breathe or Achoo . Her
characterization of him being a looming, oppressive force is further reinforced by her description of
him as a marble heavy... ghastly statue with one gray toe / Big as a Frisco seal / And a head in the
freakish Atlantic. In her mind, he is a giant statue that stretches across the continent. She also calls him
a bag of God but, given her negative portrayal of him, saying he is full of God is most likely an
indication of his ego and power, not virtue. Plath talks about his appearance, saying there was a cleft
in your chin instead of your foot, but he is no less a devil for that, an allusion to the Satan who is often
depicted as having hooves instead of feet. The speaker shows no recognition of her father s humanness
nor moral nuance; he is but an evil force that oppresses her.
Sylvia Plath controversially uses German Holocaust imagery to portray her father as a nazi and herself
as a Jew to reinforce her father s cruelty and further distance herself from him. Plath makes it clear she
knows very little about her father s family and culture of origin, telling her father, I never could tell
where you / Put your foot, your root. All she knows about her father is that he is of German

There is a bit surprise here that the King brought marble quarry from Jaipur Agra in India, the same
quarry from which the Taj Mahal s marble came from, bronze from Belgium and artisan from Turkey
who not only designed it but also constructed it. Thus, in 1941, a beautiful palace of white stone was
erected which was firstly named Swati Taj Mahal, later Motti Mahal and finally the building has since
been rechristened Safaid (White Palace). White Palace is widely 3 stores building, when King

Study on Delhi
The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in the comparison
of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many researchers have noted the problem of
how to define a running related injury.[2 4] Some investigators have suggested the need for a
standardised definition of running related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensus has not yet been
reached; thus, researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9]
Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between 19% and 92%,
depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means that the lack of standardisation of
injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5, 9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad
definition of running related injury as any physical complaint developed in relation with running
activities and causing restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an
injury incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. [17] adopted a more stringent definition of
running related injury as an injury that causes the runners to stop running for at least seven days ; they
found a lower injury incidence of 24%. The higher rate of injury found in the first study may be due to
the lack of a specific period of interruption or time off from running in the definition used, in contrast
to the definition used in the second study, which clearly specifies the period of

Trade Deficit Grows As Strong Dollar Hurts Exports
Trade Deficit grows as strong Dollar hurts Exports. According to this article trade deficit grows as
strong Dollar hurts exports found on the New York Times website, the United States trade deficit grew
moderately in May of 2015, as reported by commerce department during the week of July 2015. This
reflects the decline in sales of American made Aircraft and Machinery as exports continuously suffer
from the strong Dollar. The month of April had a deficit that is imbalanced of 40.7 Billion dollars.
During the month of May, it increased to 2.9 percent leading it to be at 41.9 billion Dollars. American
goods became less competitive in foreign markets this year because of the rising value of the dollar,
which affect and hurt the American producers. Imports decreased 0.1 percent to 230.5 billion dollars.
Exports decreased at a faster pace of 0.8 percent to 188.6 billion dollars. Even though there was a
slight increase in May, the deficit in the last two months together average less than what it averaged in
the first quarter. Maybe that would help raise the growth in the second quarter. Trade decreased nearly
two percentage points off growth in the first three months of the year. The big drag from trade
combined with a severe winter sent the economy right into reserve which caused an annual rate of 0.2
percent during the January to March period of time. According to Analysts, a narrowing of the trade
deficit in the April to June period of time will be a major factor in the

Saint Anselm s Ontological Argument

Intro to Philosophy
Prof. Altilio

Saint Anselm s Ontological Argument
The debate over the existence of God has been going on for, quite literally, thousands of years.
Whether it was a Christian God or Pagan gods, there were always those who didn t believe or would
refute the existence of these gods. Despite one s stance on religion, it is known that churches and
monasteries in the past were some of the key places for development of education, and even
philosophy. Those involved in the church wouldn t necessarily make all of their writing centered on
God, but it would make sense that the monks in these establishments would use their educated minds
and argumentative skills to argue the existence of their God. While ... Show more content on

The argument is presented as if he is speaking to or trying to persuade someone that believes God
doesn t exist. While it s written in a way that isn t as straight forward as we speak today, with some
consideration, it is simple to break down what Anselm proposed:
a) God is a being in which no greater one is conceivable
b) If God is a being which no greater one is conceivable, then there is no greater God that can be
imagined above him
Therefore...
c) There is nothing greater than God that can be

The Importance Of Food In My Life And My Family Life
Food it is something that we need to survive, it is essential for us as a species to grow and be healthy.
Some people see food as something that they need to live, but some people see it as something more
than something that we need to do. I am person who loves food. Food has been a huge part of my life
and my family life. Food is not just something that tastes good, it gives me memories of when me and
my dad when to go get ice cream or what we were eating for Thanksgiving. I am going to be talking
about food and how it affects me in my life. First I am going to talk about how I feel about food and
how important it is for me. Then I will discuss what role food plays in my life and what food I eat.
Food is ingrained in are daily culture, we see food everywhere on billboards on TV we even see it on
are phones. I believe that food is such a daily occurrence in our life that we forget how much we
actually eat and see it and talk about it. I personally love to eat food. Eating food is one of those
experiences that cannot mimic by doing something else. I consume all sorts of food from fast food to
high end restaurants. Food it isn t just the physical object, every single dish of food has a story behind
that dish. When I was a kid my mother and I went to Lowe s to get a birthday present for my dad. As I
walked into the store I thought we were getting him a new tool. But I ended up finding out we got him
this grilled call an Weber. When it came time for birthday he opened it and immediately set up. He put
charcoal on the bottom of the Weber on the sides and then put lighter fluid on the charcoal and lit it on
fire. Then he waited till the charcoal started the smolder and put mesquite wood chips on the charcoal
creating this smoke that smelled amazing. Then the best part he laid a full rack of season ribs, as he
laid it on the grill you could hear the meat simmer and start to smell the meat cooking. After waiting
for seems like an eternity I finally got to partake of the ribs. This was the first time I ever ate ribs, it
was something I never tasted before my life it was so good. This is just one story out of hundreds of
mine that involves food. Everyone has a story about food. Now sadly

High School Pressure
The Pressure of High School High school is basically one big popularity contest, and the students will
do anything it takes to be the winner. Everyone wants the most friends and to be at the best parties, at
any cost. The students are young and experiencing new things, and that makes them very naïve and
impressionable. Peer pressure is a very common aspect that students give in to just to be a cool kid.
Peer pressure can push people into doing things that they wouldn t normally do. I was sixteen years
old going into my sophomore year of high school at a new school. I had no idea what to expect, other
than I knew I needed to make friends quickly to avoid digging myself a social grave. As days past, I
found myself hanging out with two girls, Kayla and Lexi, who were in a couple of my classes. They
showed me the ins and outs and told me all about the current high school drama, so I would feel like I
was in the loop. The three of us grew close within the next few weeks, we would hang out almost
every day and eventually we planned our very first sleepover together at Kayla s house. I was
expecting to do the normal sleepover activities like, making cookies, watching movies, and talking
about all the latest gossip. What I was expecting was not what happened. One Friday night, Kayla,
Lexi, and I, were in the living room when Kayla s mother came to tell us that she was going to sleep.
As soon as she had left, Kayla and Lexi began talking about what they were going to be wearing

Example Of The Hegelian Dialectic
1 Hegelian Dialectic: a step by step guide to controlling an outcome.
A dialectical (Divided) method of argument by 19th Century German philosopher, G.W.F. Hegel. It is
a method Comprised of Thesis, antithesis, and synthesis.
The Hegelian Dialectic. A process where the contradiction between the Thesis and Antithesis resolves
to a higher level of truth, the synthesis. Also knows as the Problem, Reaction, Solution.
Its getting to the truth by exchange of logical arguments. When manipulating this method a person or
group of people are swayed to chose a desired outcome. Understanding is the first step to controlling.
This formulaic trick moves groups of people. It is how we get many major changes in our society.
One guy lights his shoe on fire; now everyone removes their shoes at the airport.
One guy lights his underwear on fire; most everyone gets body scanned. (Opting out is purposefully
inconvenient )
Presenting the extreme cases govern the majority. It is why the defense against a critical thinker is
often grouping them with a exaggerated caricature. Do you Hate America? This polar opposite takes
the spotlight off the subject of debate.
When you question claims in the mainstream. You are a Science Denier . But, as when science said
trans fat are good, later found untrue. Scientist were actually paid to blame Saturated fat over the real
poison, sugar. A truth that took 50 years to get straitened out. Some people exaustedly arguing with
science. And now, the food manufacturers given 3 years to get that proven harmful chemical out of our
food. Meanwhile it is still contributing to bad health. And cause more pain an suffering than terrorism
in our country.
Staying with food. You can find many other examples with Aspertame, Fluoride, BPA s, and HFC s to
name a few. But many will question your skepticism against the FDA. Why group drugs with food
anyway?
How calling CNN fake news takes away from actual falsities in the media. Fake news referred to news

Harry Potter Music Analysis
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, John Williams employs diegetic music by having the
characters in the film sing a song that combines with the background music. The song Double Trouble
is sung by the school choir while the film score for the movie that reflects mysteriousness and eeriness
plays. The mood in the air is almost a sense of fear and paranoia as the students in school don t feel
safe after news broke of a prison breakout. The music supports that sense of fear as the lyrics in the
film along with the rest of the music alludes to the fact that trouble is near.
2b. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of non diegetic music
which is when the source of the sound is not visible on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2d. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of leitmotif by
consistently playing the same music themes based on the scene. Leitmotif is defined by the theme in
the music that is associated with certain scenes, moods, or people. For an example, whenever the
movie tries to create a feeling of sadness felt by Harry s loneliness after having lost his parents, there
is sad music playing in the background that plays softly. By consistently having this music played
whenever Harry is feeling down, we begin to associate the connection between the two. Another
specific scene where the same sad theme is played in the background, is when Harry looks into the
mirror where he sees his parents. John Williams does this for all sorts of moods whether it be
happiness, sadness, or excitement as well as having music for specific characters and settings.
2e. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, John Williams creates the mood of foreshadowing in
the scenes by having the music played leading up to a major event. For an example during the scene
where the characters are chased by a troll monster, there is frightening music being played. We have
not yet actually seen the monster, but rather can only hear his footsteps at this point. Having the music
in the background however, foreshadows the eventual doom that the characters will face.

The factory would be constructed in two years post which it will start production. Foxtrot takes a loan
to part fund the factory construction cost for 100 cr at 10% interest with interest payable yearly in
cash. At the end of the first year, the company pays Rs 10 cr as interest to the bank. At this stage, from
an accounting perspective, Foxtrot has to make a choice. It can either show the interest paid as an
expense in the Income Statement for year 1, or it can add the interest paid to the book value of the
factory. In the latter case, the book value of Foxtrot will be increased to Rs 110 cr that will now
include Rs 10 cr as interest that the company paid to the bankers? Which of the two do you think is
more consistent with the principles of accounting?
Answer : As per GAAP ,the book value should be increased to Rs 110 cr as the factory is still to be

Women s Rights Thesis
Woman s rights alludes to political, social, and financial developments went for setting up more
noteworthy rights, legitimate insurance for ladies, as well as ladies freedom. It incorporates a
percentage of the sociological hypotheses and methods of insight worried with issues of sexual
orientation distinction. Nancy Cott characterizes woman s rights as the confidence in the significance
of sexual orientation balance, discrediting the thought of sex progressive system as a socially
developed idea.
Woman s rights has earned itself an awful notoriety, however it never undermined sex contrasts that
exist in the middle of guys and females. A man can never be as great a mother as a female can. Also, a
lady can never be as great a father as a male can. While tolerating these anatomical and physiological
contrasts between the two sexes, woman s rights looks for both sexes to be similarly regarded. They
are both human and as an animal types, people can t advance without both of them. ... Show more

The Importance Of The Japanese American Internment
My priority was to try to show the American people that we are just as loyal as anybody else. We need
to prove our loyalty because the reason why we re in camp is because the American public says that
we are enemy aliens. Were loyalty to Japan and so forth. And that perceptions got to be changed.
Susumu Satow. This statement is very powerful stating we need to show the American people we are
not your enemies but your friends. Do not be scared of us just because we are Japanese. Prejudice
played a large role in the Japanese American relocation because of the 1894 treaty, conflict over
China, and the Russian Japanese War. The Japanese were never awarded for their bravery going into
those internment camps. They were spit on and called names. Imagine being in that situation of hatred.
Japanese American relationships were strained (during the)years before World War II. One of the
reasons the United States and Japan did not get along was in 1894 when a treaty was signed allowing
Japanese Immigrants into America allowing them the same rights as US citizens. In 1906, this treaty
was violated when the San Francisco Board of Education passed a provision sending Japanese and
Chinese children to segregated schools. This movement angered the Japanese Government because it
violated the treaty. In late 1907 and into early 1908, letters were exchanged between the United States
and Japan known as the Gentlemen s agreement . The Gentlemen s Agreement was for the US

Homosexuals In The Film Milk
Homosexuals have been oppressed since before the word existed. Even in the 21st century, gays still
face constant discrimination. Still, the world is much more gay friendly than it used to be. Crucial to
this change was the gay rights movement of the 1970s. The 2008 film Milk depicts the life and
activism of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to hold public office. The movie portrays the public
s negative attitude towards gays with distressing accuracy. Milk reflects the public s opposition to
laws protecting gays. The main obstacles Milk fights against are people trying to abrogate non
discrimination laws for gays in the workplace. Anita Bryant and John Briggs were prominent anti gay
activists in both the movie and history. After the success ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did most of this work in the Midwest, a very different environment from Harvey Milk s San
Francisco. While Milk turned the already urban and liberal Castro into a haven for the gay community,
Kieschnick was one of the first to promote gay rights in the Midwest. Part of the reason so many gays
were out in San Francisco was that Milk encouraged them to come out, believing that their cause
would be aided if everyone realized they knew someone gay. This had not reached the Midwest, and
for many students, Kieschnick was the first gay person they had ever met. The San Franciscans in
Milk really did know about gays, but they cannot be compared to rural Midwesterners.
The movie was also accurate in its depiction of violence towards homosexuals. Kieschnick recalls,
And certainly there were death threats. I had multiple death threats. I had people throwing things at

prominent theme of violence in Milk is a shocking recreation of the violence gays

Sometimes you need to see it to believe it. The most well represented style in school is the Visual
learning style. This is a person who learns best by reading and seeing. A visual learner will retain the
most information by looking at words on a chalkboard and copying their notes down. They will also
learn by reading over their notes or a textbook, and highlighting important facts as they go along.
These students will be comfortable with writing outlines, designing posters and making diagrams to
represent what they have learned. Also working with puzzles and colors will come easily to them.

These students will most likely move their lips silently when reading. Classes that are taught in a
lecture type style will be most beneficial for these learners. To retain information these students will
repeat their notes over and over out loud. Auditory learners will most likely have a talent in music by
being able to better hear different pitches of sound and tunes (Duker, 1971). Memorizing songs will
come easily to them and they may find themselves memorizing their lessons in the form of some
melody in their head. These students will be most likely be at ease when they have to put their ideas in
form of a speech and will be better at explaining their ideas out loud than writing them down on paper.
In the classroom teachers should emphasize that their students who are auditory learners should bring
a tape recorder to class so that they can listen to the lecture at home. Teachers should also make sure
they explain concepts that and not just write them down (Slaughter, 2002). Especially material learned
from reading should be discussed as a class. Along with class discussions, class debates will be best
suited for a verbal learner. Records that put the lesson in a form of a song or rhymes to remember
information will also help these students. When giving instructions for an assignment or a project

been taken a long time ago, they honored one of the best players to play for their organization. It is
time for the baseball Hall of Fame to do the same. Rose s Hall of Fame story started September 1985,
during a game at the Red s home field. During this game, Pete Rose got a hit. Hits were no big deal in
Rose s career; however, this one was different. This was hit number 4,192 for Rose. He had just

His name has been tarnished by the reports that he ruined a sacred game. The MLB does not have to
lift the ban on Rose, they shouldn t. Rose did in fact break a rule that he was warned about time and

Hall. Pete Rose s being entered into the Hall of Fame would not mean that he would be forgiven for
betting on baseball games. It would not mean that betting on baseball games is an okay action to
commit. It would simply mean that the accomplishments that Rose achieved on the baseball field are
recognized and the mark that he left on the history of the sport is not

Ordinary People Movie Analysis
In the movie Ordinary People Conrad and his family struggle with their relationship with each other.
There are many arguments and fights between them and most of these are caused by a lack of
communication between one another. In an argument people use their natural instincts to react, and
this reaction is either a fight or a flight reaction. In this film both fight and flight is demonstrated with
each Conrad, Beth, and Calvin.
After the whole incident with Conrad s brother dieing Conrad hasn t been able to forgive himself for
what happened that night on the boat and for what he did. Him and his mother feel disconnected and
uncomfortable and they lack communication with one another. For example, when Beth, Conrad s
mother, found out about Conrad quitting the swim team from one of her friends she was angry. She
strongly dislikes the fact that she found out through someone else because she doesn t like people
knowing about her family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It started off with Beth talking about them going on another vacation trip just like the one they were
currently on, and Calvin said okay I ll ask Conrad this is what started the whole argument between
them. She took a lot of offense to Calvin wanting to bring Conrad along with them on the trip and she
just assumed that he was purposefully trying to start a fight with her. While Calvin didn t think about
it like that, he just felt that they should bring their son along with them next time. This argument
escalated very quickly into yelling at one another over many topics. This could have been prevented if
they communicated more with each other because Beth isn t comfortable with showing or talking
about emotions and talking to a psychiatrist together would really help. If Beth and Calvin sat down
with a psychiatrist and talked everything out with each other they could have worked it out and not
have made as big of a scene on the golf

Gender Discrimination In The Workplace
Discrimination in the workplace, specifically gender discrimination is a significant matter, impacting
women all over the world. Defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention No.
11, discrimination is Any distinction, exclusion or preference made on the basis of race, colour, sex,
religion, political opinion, national extraction or social origin, which has the effect of nullifying or
impairing equality of opportunity or treatment in employment or occupation. . As stated by Gillian
Loveday, ...women are indeed different from men but this should not be seen as inferior to men in the
workplace. (Loveday, 1997). Whilst this statement may have been written 20 years ago, the argument
is still relevant today, particularly to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some objectives of the above outlined Acts relevant to Tui s case include:
1. Making discriminatory acts in certain areas upon certain grounds unlawful.
2. Provide remedies for discriminatory actions to individual complainants, whilst keeping the
complaint system confidential, with a process concerning conciliation, and education, and providing
access to a tribunal system where complaints may be heard publicly.
Article 4(1) of the UN convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women
expressly authorises temporary special measures aimed at accelerating de facto equality between men
and women . In addition to this, the Workplace Gender Equality Act (2012) has also been developed to
prevent discrimination in the workplace, with the aid of the Australian Government agency, the
Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) whose role is to promote and improve gender equality
in Australian workplaces (Workplace Gender Equality Agency, 2017).
Relevant to Tui s case, the objectives of the Workplace Gender Equality Act (2012) include the
following:
1. Supporting employers to remove barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the
workforce, in recognition of the disadvantaged position of women in relation to employment matters.
2. Promote, amongst employers, the elimination of discrimination on the

SLE Essay
The most common visceral organ that is affected in SLE is the kidneys; even though approximately
50% of SLE patients develop clear manifestations of renal disease, the vast majority of the patients
have some degree of renal involvement as demonstrated by biopsy studies [29]. The most common
devastating symptom of SLE is lupus nephritis [30]. SLE patients also have neurological
manifestations that have been reported in 25 75% of patients and can involve all parts of the nervous
system [31]. These include headaches, cognitive deficits, psychosis, depression, and epileptic seizures
[32]. Pleurisy with pleuritic chest pain with or without pleural effusions is the most common feature of
pulmonary involvement in SLE [33]. Cardiac ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although these criteria were developed for classification, they are extensively used for diagnosis of
patients. These criteria include the most important manifestations of SLE, namely mucocutaneous,
articular, serosal, nephrologic, neurologic, hematologic, and immunologic. The patient must fulfill at
least 4 of the 11 ACR criteria (listed in Table 1) to be diagnosed as an SLE patient. The criteria must
be fulfilled at any time in the patient s history and symptoms may occur simultaneously or in
succession [38, 39]. In 2012, the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) had
published new classification criteria in which the patient must present with at least 4 of 17 SLICC
classification criteria (listed in Table 2), including at least one clinical and one immunologic criterion.
Nonetheless, SLICC has not been extensively used in studies to determine the incidence of SLE [2,
40]. Due to the complexity of SLE and its diversity in immunological and clinical manifestations, the
assessment of the disease activity poses a challenge. Therefore numerous clinical indices have been
developed for the assessment of the activity of the disease due to the absence of single biomarker that
adequately reflects the activity of SLE. There are two main types of activity measures in SLE. The
European Consensus Lupus Activity Measurements (ECLAM), Systemic Lupus Activity Measure
(SLAM) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI) are examples of

A Mother s Day Blues Concert Report
On today, I will be writing about a concert that I recently attended. On this past Saturday, I traveled to
Monroe, LA to attend a Mother s Day blues concert. At the concert we had table seats on the floor.
The area where I was seated, someone decided to buy us drinks. The reason I enjoyed the concert so
much was because it was a great view. I didn t have to struggle to see the performers on stage. Also,
some of the performers got off stage and came into the area where we were seated. Being at the
concert listening to such great music brought back a lot of memories. The songs that they sung
brought me back to my childhood. When I was a child my siblings and I use to sit in the living room

The Impact Of Telemedicine On Health, A Systematic...
Introduction
To evaluate and study the impact of telemedicine in health, a systematic literature review was
conducted. An electronic research through the University of Maryland library was done the articles
selected dated from 2000 to 2014. A total of 12 articles was reviewed that dealt with clinical
outcomes, efficacy, patient and provider satisfaction. Telemedicine as an emerging field can greatly
improve the outcomes of healthcare thus resulting in decrease the delivery cost of healthcare. While
the results of the studies are inconclusive on some of the areas, there are some strong supports for
patient satisfaction. The literature reviews cost effectiveness, provider satisfaction, patient satisfaction
and clinical outcomes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several managed care organizations were represented. All of the organizations interviewed indicated
that there is a market demand for complementary and alternative medicine such as Telemedicine. The
study showed that while cost and clinical efficacy were important, both of these were less important
than market demand. This unexpected result show that consumer demands are actually more important
in shaping the demand for telemedicine and should be used to pursue development of telemedicine
among healthcare providers that will essentially lead to better reimbursement from health insurance
companies (Whitten and Kuwahara, 2003). Whitten and Kuwara states that payers must answer both
patients need and suppliers concerns of telemedicine cost Methods and Organization of the Report.
Qualitative reports on 12 peer reviewed articles were researched through the University of Maryland
to get information on the cost effectiveness, clinical efficacy, individual and provider satisfaction. The
12 articles printed dates ranged from 200 and 2014. The articles represented articles that have been
published on the topic of telemedicine subject in various areas. The review articles began with
searching the database looking for articles on telemedicine and found a possible 100 articles on the
topic and were narrowed down to just a few dozen that fit the standards the matter was searching for.

The Native American Spirit Quest Of A Half Indian Foster...
Sherman Alexie s novel Flight explores the Native American spirit quest of a half Indian foster child.
Alexie brilliantly invites readers into the mind of a cynical fifteen year old who calls himself Zits. Zits
uses humor, violence, and shock value to cope with how he has been treated by his absent father and
the foster system. Zits uses his vocabulary as a defense mechanism which reveals how comfortable he
feels in various situations. The following paragraphs analyze how Zits speech patterns provide insight
to how he feels about certain characters and situations. Zits uses a distinctive naming system when he
is unaware of a character s real name. Zits method of naming characters reveals how comfortable he is
talking about them. He bases most of his names on appearance. For instance, Zits sees a young Indian
boy while he is in the body of Gus and he observes that the Indian can t be more than five years old
and he holds a bow (pg. 59). Zits then refers to this character as Bow Boy for the remainder of the
book (pg. 59). Zits uses this method for naming almost every character he meets. Characters that he
likes are given names such as Small Saint while characters he feels anger toward often remain
unnamed (pg. 61). For example, Zits mother, father and grandfather are never mentioned by name.
Zits method of naming also reveals how he feels about himself. I m ashamed that I look like a bag of
zits tied to a broomstick (pg. 9). Therefore, his name reveals how he

The Measures of the Bolsheviks to Maintain Power and Address the Problems of Russia Before the

After the Bolsheviks seizure of power in November 1917, Lenin needed to ensure all previously made
promises were kept and that Russia s increasing problems were resolved. The Bolsheviks were a
relatively small party with big plans for Russia a communist state. Is this were to be possible Lenin
would need to gain greater support.
Lenin made several crucial decisions in the early days of peace, bread, land and all power to the soviet

This, however, did not have the desired effect as workers began to flee, as food shortages increased, to
the countryside in search of bread. Bag men , or town traders, took machinery, scrap machinery and
timber from their workplaces to trade for grain in the country. The population of Petrograd fell by a
third in the build up to the civil war. The workers did not want to stay in towns and cities when money
was slowly becoming worthless. Bolshevism was more or less unknown outside of Petrograd,
Moscow and the other main towns and cities, ad so Lenin needed as much support here as possible.
Lenin finally pulled out of World War 1 in March 1918, signing the Treaty of Brest Litovsk. The treaty
lost Russia 26% of its population, 27% of its arable land as well as significant chunks of the iron and
coal industry, national minorities etc. Despite meeting the promises of the Bolsheviks for peace, the
treaty created yet more opposition within Russia.
Lenin s methods for dealing with opposition were ruthless, repression and dictatorship. As Russia
moved closer to a civil war, Lenin became increasingly like the Tsar in his way of rule. Non Bolshevik

A Day At The Crocker Art Museum
A Day at the Crocker Art Museum
Having lived in the Sacramento area for the last 10 years, last weekend was my first trip to the
Crocker Art Museum. The museum was slow when we first got there around 10:00 am, but within an
hour it started to pick up. I did not expect much from a museum in Sacramento, I was thinking more
like gold rush memorabilia or Sutter household items. In short, I love the place. It is so much bigger
and with more art than I imagined. My favorite part of the museum was the old part and not the
modern side. I did not get the meaning of quite a few of the modern paintings, ok, all of them. One of
the modern Art s was just a shoe that was painted, my friend and I tried to figure out why this was
considered art and all we could come up with, is that it was an expensive shoe. I don t even know what
to say about a single Apple computer box, it had to represent something expensive because it was in a
glass lock box.
I wanted to hear more about the story of the family, Judge, and Mrs. E. B. Crocker and how and why
they were so generous with their artwork. We first started in the new part of the house, where the
modern art is displayed, and then we proceeded to go to the older part, which is inside two old houses,
so I loved seeing all the old architecture and walking through all the rooms imagine what it was like
when people lived there. My favorite part of this whole visit was when, I was trying to find out how
the museum acquired all this artwork and

Growth of the Automobile Industry in India
The automobile industry is the fastest growing sector in India. Growth in consumption patterns has
encouraged tremendous improvement in manufacturing sector and the auto industry has been growing
at a rapid pace recording over 2.06 million four wheelers (passenger cars, light, medium and heavy
commercial vehicles, multi utility vehicles such as jeeps), and over 9 million two and three wheelers
(scooters, motorcycles, mopeds, and three wheelers) in 2006 07. (SBH India, 2008)
It was this promising outlook for Indian auto industry that forced Fiat into a collaboration with Tata
Corporation India in 2007. However within few months, troubles were reported and by 2010, it was
officially considered an unfortunate venture since Fiat was losing in terms of sales and profits so
rapidly that it made Fiat and Tata rethink their Joint venture. In 2011, the two companies decide to
reorganize their distribution channels to allow separate distribution facilities.
Fiat Motors had initially planned to sell through Tata dealers but the channel tie up did not prove
profitable as evidenced by sagging sales and in 2011 it was decided that separate dealerships might
work better.
The joint venture agreement with Tata Motors stands. We are altering our marketing strategy. We have
identified 20 cities where Fiat cars will now be sold separately and independently, said Ranjeev

Literary Analysis Of Rome Fever, And Edith Wharton sRoman...
Roman Fever: W, A New Leaf: L Critical literary analysis can be used in many ways: simply to
understand a story s purpose, the story s characters, and many other aspects to understand a story fully.
Critical literary analysis can also be used to try to determine an opinion between two books and their
value as a story. In the case between Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton and F. Scott Fitzgerald s
A New Leaf , Roman Fever is the superior story between the two. After in depth analysis of both
stories, Roman Fever deserves the higher ranking simply because of its literary elements. Roman
Fever written by Edith Wharton has a more complex plot structure than A New Leaf . The plot
structure in a Roman Fever is more complex because it is not simply chronological. The story does
use a chronological structure to describe how long the two characters have been sitting together, and
to further the story, but there are mentions of the past that divert from the chronological order. These
glimpses into the past from the characters, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, add artistic unity to the
story, meaning that these flashbacks cannot be removed, otherwise the story would not be
comprehendible. The purpose of Roman Fever is not the plot but the characters and their relationship,
and the change and develop of Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley. This alone rank Roman Fever above A
New Leaf because A New Leaf relies heavily on chronological plot structure and the plot to truly drive
the story. The plot also ties in heavily the stereotype of the pattern of three s. Julia rejects both Dick
and Phil twice before accepting them both on the third time. Many of the analysis questions for A New
Leaf focus on the plot rather than anything else, including two about Phil and Dick and plot, 4. What
causes Julia to reject Dick, twice? What in his behavior causes her rejections, and what in her
character causes them? 5. What is the function of Phil Hoffman in the plot? Why does Julia reject him,
and why does she finally marry him? The characters of Roman Fever are dynamic in a literary way
and are the main focus of the story. If the relationship between the two characters, and the characters
themselves, were not made

Persuasive Speech On Naps

Fungus Of The Spouses Analysis
Many works of art such as paintings, sculptures, and architecture show a different subject matter.

it can be misunderstood, if you don t understand the meaning behind it, especially if the artwork is not

Pursuing the American Dream in My Antonia by Willa Cather...
Pursuing the American Dream in My Antonia by Willa Cather In the novel, My Antonia, by Willa
Cather, everyone seems to be trying to pursue the American Dream. While they all have different ideas
of just exactly what the American Dream is, they all know precisely what they want. For some, the

They work hard to fit in and succeed, but, as in the case of Mr. Shimerda, are not always successful.

The Shimerdas came all the way from Bohemia and gambled everything they had to make it in

closest neighbor. Every day she learned a little bit more from him. He taught her farming methods and
other practices of farm life. As she picked up the language, she began to do very well in her new

Ethnic Diversity And Cultural Factors
Ethnic Diversity and Cultural Factors
Due to its violent history, Cambodia has a unique blend of ethnicities. The majority of the population
is Khmer, with minorities such as Vietnamese, Cham, and Chinese, with Vietnamese being the largest.
Many Khmer from south Vietnam, called Khmer Kraom, which includes young men who come as
Buddhist monks. The Cham, who are predominantly Muslim, usually live in riverfront communities,
and live off of fishing, small businesses, and livestock. The Chinese population generally have a better
relation with the other cultures in Cambodia, with much more intermarriage between them and Khmer
and Vietnamese. Other culture in Cambodia have historically clashed, with the Cham and Khmer
having religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, CEDAW has failed to protect women, due to Cambodia s weak legal system. As a result,
most women remain unprotected and vulnerable (Galabru, 2004).
Domestic violence is one of the greatest forms of violence against women in Cambodia. 17% of
married women, ages 15 49, have reported their husbands physically and sexually abusing them. Even
more shocking, one fourth of these women do not think they are abused, revealing Cambodian women
s lack of knowledge of basic human rights. Research shows that lack of education and alcohol increase
women s risk of be abused. Also, women who came of age during the Khmer Rouge period are subject
to significantly higher rates of domestic abuse, relieving how violence in society affects violence at
home. Cambodia s traditional culture does not help women who are victims of domestic abuse.
Violence and rape are considered an issue between the husband and wife that does not concern law
officials. Children are also victims of abuse, due to traditional Asian households. Extended families
tend to live together, so children can be abused not just by their parent, but also by an uncle, cousin, or
grandparent. Because of this, civil rights organizations in Cambodia pressure the NA to widen the
definition of victims to include others just as relatives, not just wives (Galabru, 2004).
Rape is also prevalent in Cambodia, yet like most crimes, it is under reported. Child

Operant Learning Theorists
Part 1
Behavior is explained as a response to a given stimulus. There are two theories which explain how we
learn. These are classical conditioning and operant learning as explained by B.F Skinner and. Ivan
Pavlov .In classical conditioning, there are responses, usually involuntary which are as a result of
experiences which occur before the response in question. This conditioning occurs when one learns to
associate two different stimuli. Operant conditioning, on the other hand, changes in behavior which
result from experiences which occur after the said response result in learning. This involves changes in
voluntary behaviours.
These two theories share many procedures and basic principles. The basic principles of extinction,
spontaneous recovery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such a schedule causes a high and steady rate of responding. Examples of reward based on variable
ratio schedules are gambling and lottery . A fixed ratio schedule , on the other hand, refers to a
reinforcement schedule where a response is only reinforced after a specified number of responses.
These schedules produce a high and steady rate of responding but with a brief pause after the delivery
of the given reinforcer.
An experiment to show the application of reinforcement can be given as follows. A rat is placed in a
skinner box. The Skinner box is such that it has a bar or lever which the rat can press or manipulate in
a given way when it wants to obtain either food or water from the reinforcer. In the experiment, the
box provides also a means of recording the various responses of the animal. In the experiment, various
schedules of reinforcement will be applied and the responses of the rat recorded.
The rat then will receive a food pellet whenever they manipulate the lever. Some rats will receive a
food pellet each time they peck the lever and others receive food pellets after manipulating the lever

Summary Of Brunelleschi s Dome
Throughout the book Brunelleschi s Dome, Filippo has to overcome others to make his ideas become
a reality. First he loses the bronze door competition to his competition Lorenzo. Then he has to fight
against the Opera del Duomo to allow his model to be used for the Dome. He continued to fight for he
designs with trying to flood Lucca, and building II Badalone, both being fails. After those fails, and
the Domes set backs, the Opera began to lose faith in Filippo, but that wouldn t stop him. He
continued to be in charge of building the Dome, and later designing the lanterns after having Antonio
steal his ideas. Filippo had a problem with communicating to others. He feared that they would steal
his ideas and claim them as their own, so he never told anyone anything. He keeps all his notes coded
and only shared the very minimal with his friends. This allowed him an upper hand above his
competition. It made it difficult for others to reproduce his work, let alone understand how he came up
with the ideas he had, making much of his work a mystery.
The authors aims were to educate the reader upon the history of the Dome and to show how it was
built, why it was an amazing feat, and why Filippo was an ingenious architecture. King achieved his
aims very well. Through out the book, he expressed the importance of Filippo and everything that he
did. King tells about how Filippo built and designed the Dome. He supported the claim that Filippo
was before his time, and that no one could duplicate his work; A proud Florentine, Michelangelo
claimed that he could equal it, Filippo s dome but never surprises it. In fact, he did not even equal it...
(Page 163)
King s writing was both fair and accurate. He seemed to have done lots of research, and written only
the facts that had been proven. When he did write anything that seemed a little exaggerated, he would
always source the statement making sure the reader knew that he was only stating what someone else
said, not the complete truth. King also shows both sides of the story. He gives all characters an equal
chance to prove themselves. As seen best with Lorenzo, King praises him first with Lorenzo s doors,
but then he expresses Lorenzo s incompetence towards the wooden

Analyzing Aircraft in Alaska
Definition of terms
There are several terms that geeky airplane folks use when discussing the properties and merits of
airplanes. It is necessary to understand these terms when comparing airplanes. Some of the most
commonly used are gross weight, useful load, and payload. Gross weight is the maximum aircraft
weight when full with cargo and fuel. It can be dangerous to exceed gross weight because the airframe
might not be able to handle the extra weight. Useful load is how much weight can be put in the plane
including fuel. Payload is how much weight can be put in the plane after it is full of fuel.
Some common terms used in describing bush planes are stall speed, STOL, ground roll, take off
distance over 50 feet, and rate of climb. Stall speed is when the airplane stops producing enough lift to
fly, and the airplane stops flying. STOL is an acronym for Short Takeoff and Landing. Ground roll is
how many feet it takes for a plane to takeoff. Take off distance over 50 feet is how many feet it takes
for a plane to take off from being stopped to climb 50 feet in the air. Rate of climb is how many
vertical feet per minute, FPM, an airplane can climb.
Description of airplanes
The Piper Super Cub is one of the most popular aircraft in Alaska because it has STOL performance
and is a cheap plane to buy and fly. It is cheap enough for even private pilots to own. It can
accommodate only two people but

  • 2. The Portrayal Of Nabedience And Power In Sylvia Plath s Daddy Sylvia Plath s Daddy is addressed to the speaker s father. The speaker describes the father as a looming, unhuman force that stifles her. She introduces him as being the black shoe / In which I have lived like a foot / For thirty years , poor and white, Barely daring to breathe or Achoo . Her characterization of him being a looming, oppressive force is further reinforced by her description of him as a marble heavy... ghastly statue with one gray toe / Big as a Frisco seal / And a head in the freakish Atlantic. In her mind, he is a giant statue that stretches across the continent. She also calls him a bag of God but, given her negative portrayal of him, saying he is full of God is most likely an indication of his ego and power, not virtue. Plath talks about his appearance, saying there was a cleft in your chin instead of your foot, but he is no less a devil for that, an allusion to the Satan who is often depicted as having hooves instead of feet. The speaker shows no recognition of her father s humanness nor moral nuance; he is but an evil force that oppresses her. Sylvia Plath controversially uses German Holocaust imagery to portray her father as a nazi and herself as a Jew to reinforce her father s cruelty and further distance herself from him. Plath makes it clear she knows very little about her father s family and culture of origin, telling her father, I never could tell where you / Put your foot, your root. All she knows about her father is that he is of German ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Study on Delhi The lack of standard concepts in research is perhaps the most significant difficulty in the comparison of results between studies.[1] In the running injury field, many researchers have noted the problem of how to define a running related injury.[2 4] Some investigators have suggested the need for a standardised definition of running related injury.[2, 5 7] However, a consensus has not yet been reached; thus, researchers have used different definitions in their studies.[3, 8, 9] Currently, the rates of prevalence and incidence of running injuries vary between 19% and 92%, depending on the injury definition adopted in the study. This means that the lack of standardisation of injury definitions may affect study results.[2, 3, 5, 9 15] For instance, Bovens, et al. [16] used a broad definition of running related injury as any physical complaint developed in relation with running activities and causing restriction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency ; they found an injury incidence of 84.9%. On the other hand, Blair, et al. According to this article trade deficit grows as strong Dollar hurts exports found on the New York Times website, the United States trade deficit grew moderately in May of 2015, as reported by commerce department during the week of July 2015. This reflects the decline in sales of American made Aircraft and Machinery as exports continuously suffer from the strong Dollar. The month of April had a deficit that is imbalanced of 40.7 Billion dollars. During the month of May, it increased to 2.9 percent leading it to be at 41.9 billion Dollars. American goods became less competitive in foreign markets this year because of the rising value of the dollar, which affect and hurt the American producers. Imports decreased 0.1 percent to 230.5 billion dollars. Exports decreased at a faster pace of 0.8 percent to 188.6 billion dollars. Even though there was a slight increase in May, the deficit in the last two months together average less than what it averaged in the first quarter. Maybe that would help raise the growth in the second quarter. Trade decreased nearly two percentage points off growth in the first three months of the year. The big drag from trade combined with a severe winter sent the economy right into reserve which caused an annual rate of 0.2 percent during the January to March period of time. According to Analysts, a narrowing of the trade deficit in the April to June period of time will be a major factor in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saint Anselm s Ontological Argument Marlo Louden Intro to Philosophy Prof. Altilio 14 July 2015 Saint Anselm s Ontological Argument The debate over the existence of God has been going on for, quite literally, thousands of years. Despite one s stance on religion, it is known that churches and monasteries in the past were some of the key places for development of education, and even philosophy. As I walked into the store I thought we were getting him a new tool. But I ended up finding out we got him this grilled call an Weber. When it came time for birthday he opened it and immediately set up. He put charcoal on the bottom of the Weber on the sides and then put lighter fluid on the charcoal and lit it on fire. Then he waited till the charcoal started the smolder and put mesquite wood chips on the charcoal creating this smoke that smelled amazing. Then the best part he laid a full rack of season ribs, as he laid it on the grill you could hear the meat simmer and start to smell the meat cooking. After waiting for seems like an eternity I finally got to partake of the ribs. This was the first time I ever ate ribs, it was something I never tasted before my life it was so good. Peer pressure is a very common aspect that students give in to just to be a cool kid. Peer pressure can push people into doing things that they wouldn t normally do. As days past, I found myself hanging out with two girls, Kayla and Lexi, who were in a couple of my classes. They showed me the ins and outs and told me all about the current high school drama, so I would feel like I was in the loop. The three of us grew close within the next few weeks, we would hang out almost every day and eventually we planned our very first sleepover together at Kayla s house. Leitmotif is defined by the theme in the music that is associated with certain scenes, moods, or people. For an example, whenever the movie tries to create a feeling of sadness felt by Harry s loneliness after having lost his parents, there is sad music playing in the background that plays softly. By consistently having this music played whenever Harry is feeling down, we begin to associate the connection between the two. Another specific scene where the same sad theme is played in the background, is when Harry looks into the mirror where he sees his parents. SLE Essay The most common visceral organ that is affected in SLE is the kidneys; even though approximately 50% of SLE patients develop clear manifestations of renal disease, the vast majority of the patients have some degree of renal involvement as demonstrated by biopsy studies [29]. The most common devastating symptom of SLE is lupus nephritis [30]. SLE patients also have neurological manifestations that have been reported in 25 75% of patients and can involve all parts of the nervous system [31]. These include headaches, cognitive deficits, psychosis, depression, and epileptic seizures [32]. Pleurisy with pleuritic chest pain with or without pleural effusions is the most common feature of pulmonary involvement in SLE [33]. Cardiac ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although these criteria were developed for classification, they are extensively used for diagnosis of patients. These criteria include the most important manifestations of SLE, namely mucocutaneous, articular, serosal, nephrologic, neurologic, hematologic, and immunologic. The patient must fulfill at least 4 of the 11 ACR criteria (listed in Table 1) to be diagnosed as an SLE patient. The criteria must be fulfilled at any time in the patient s history and symptoms may occur simultaneously or in succession [38, 39]. In 2012, the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) had published new classification criteria in which the patient must present with at least 4 of 17 SLICC classification criteria (listed in Table 2), including at least one clinical and one immunologic criterion. Nonetheless, SLICC has not been extensively used in studies to determine the incidence of SLE [2, 40]. Due to the complexity of SLE and its diversity in immunological and clinical manifestations, the assessment of the disease activity poses a challenge. Therefore numerous clinical indices have been developed for the assessment of the activity of the disease due to the absence of single biomarker that adequately reflects the activity of SLE. There are two main types of activity measures in SLE. Alexie brilliantly invites readers into the mind of a cynical fifteen year old who calls himself Zits. Zits uses humor, violence, and shock value to cope with how he has been treated by his absent father and the foster system. Zits uses his vocabulary as a defense mechanism which reveals how comfortable he feels in various situations. The following paragraphs analyze how Zits speech patterns provide insight to how he feels about certain characters and situations. Zits uses a distinctive naming system when he is unaware of a character s real name. Zits method of naming characters reveals how comfortable he is talking about them. He bases most of his names on appearance. For instance, Zits sees a young Indian boy while he is in the body of Gus and he observes that the Indian can t be more than five years old and he holds a bow (pg. 59). Zits then refers to this character as Bow Boy for the remainder of the book (pg. 59). Zits uses this method for naming almost every character he meets. Characters that he likes are given names such as Small Saint while characters he feels anger toward often remain unnamed (pg. 61). For example, Zits mother, father and grandfather are never mentioned by name. Zits method of naming also reveals how he feels about himself. I did not expect much from a museum in Sacramento, I was thinking more like gold rush memorabilia or Sutter household items. In short, I love the place. I wanted to hear more about the story of the family, Judge, and Mrs. E. B. Crocker and how and why they were so generous with their artwork. We first started in the new part of the house, where the modern art is displayed, and then we proceeded to go to the older part, which is inside two old houses, so I loved seeing all the old architecture and walking through all the rooms imagine what it was like when people lived there. • 36. Literary Analysis Of Rome Fever, And Edith Wharton sRoman... Roman Fever: W, A New Leaf: L Critical literary analysis can be used in many ways: simply to understand a story s purpose, the story s characters, and many other aspects to understand a story fully. Critical literary analysis can also be used to try to determine an opinion between two books and their value as a story. In the case between Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton and F. Scott Fitzgerald s A New Leaf , Roman Fever is the superior story between the two. After in depth analysis of both stories, Roman Fever deserves the higher ranking simply because of its literary elements. Roman Fever written by Edith Wharton has a more complex plot structure than A New Leaf . The plot structure in a Roman Fever is more complex because it is not simply chronological. The story does use a chronological structure to describe how long the two characters have been sitting together, and to further the story, but there are mentions of the past that divert from the chronological order. These glimpses into the past from the characters, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, add artistic unity to the story, meaning that these flashbacks cannot be removed, otherwise the story would not be comprehendible. The purpose of Roman Fever is not the plot but the characters and their relationship, and the change and develop of Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley. This alone rank Roman Fever above A New Leaf because A New Leaf relies heavily on chronological plot structure and the plot to truly drive the story. The plot also ties in heavily the stereotype of the pattern of three s. Julia rejects both Dick and Phil twice before accepting them both on the third time. Many of the analysis questions for A New Leaf focus on the plot rather than anything else, including two about Phil and Dick and plot, 4. What causes Julia to reject Dick, twice? What in his behavior causes her rejections, and what in her character causes them? 5. What is the function of Phil Hoffman in the plot? Why does Julia reject him, and why does she finally marry him? The characters of Roman Fever are dynamic in a literary way and are the main focus of the story. If the relationship between the two characters, and the characters themselves, were not made ... After those fails, and the Domes set backs, the Opera began to lose faith in Filippo, but that wouldn t stop him. He continued to be in charge of building the Dome, and later designing the lanterns after having Antonio steal his ideas. Filippo had a problem with communicating to others. He feared that they would steal his ideas and claim them as their own, so he never told anyone anything. He keeps all his notes coded and only shared the very minimal with his friends. This allowed him an upper hand above his competition. It made it difficult for others to reproduce his work, let alone understand how he came up with the ideas he had, making much of his work a mystery. The authors aims were to educate the reader upon the history of the Dome and to show how it was built, why it was an amazing feat, and why Filippo was an ingenious architecture. King achieved his aims very well. Through out the book, he expressed the importance of Filippo and everything that he did. King tells about how Filippo built and designed the Dome. • 46. Analyzing Aircraft in Alaska Definition of terms There are several terms that geeky airplane folks use when discussing the properties and merits of airplanes. It is necessary to understand these terms when comparing airplanes. Some of the most commonly used are gross weight, useful load, and payload. Gross weight is the maximum aircraft weight when full with cargo and fuel. It can be dangerous to exceed gross weight because the airframe might not be able to handle the extra weight. Useful load is how much weight can be put in the plane including fuel. Payload is how much weight can be put in the plane after it is full of fuel. Some common terms used in describing bush planes are stall speed, STOL, ground roll, take off distance over 50 feet, and rate of climb. Stall speed is when the airplane stops producing enough lift to fly, and the airplane stops flying. STOL is an acronym for Short Takeoff and Landing. Ground roll is how many feet it takes for a plane to takeoff. Take off distance over 50 feet is how many feet it takes for a plane to take off from being stopped to climb 50 feet in the air. Rate of climb is how many vertical feet per minute, FPM, an airplane can climb. Description of airplanes The Piper Super Cub is one of the most popular aircraft in Alaska because it has STOL performance and is a cheap plane to buy and fly.
