Difference Between Politics And Political Culture
1.The differences between political opinion and political culture begin with the public. Political
opinion is what and how the public feel about certain policies and issues dealing with political
leaders and generally how the country is running. Political culture on the other hand deals with the
public s norms and values in society. The main difference between political opinion and political
culture are how political culture deals with the religion, history and economy of a nation while
political opinion is the way the people of nation view their nation. A major difference between the
two and probably the largest distinction between them is political opinion is constantly changing
with the ebb and flow of the nation s political climate while political culture tend be stagnant and
rooted in the communities that first started them, being passed down generation to generation
usually dealing with a foqaue or a custom or ritual that is common throughout a specific political
culture. Political culture and opinion also have some similarities, political opinions tie directly into
what political culture you belong too and both deal with the people s view on the politicsof
government.
2. Political socialization is the process in which a person gains their political beliefs or values.
Political socialization can be found almost anywhere you look but is most prevalent in the family
home. Most children adopt the political beliefs of their parents even if those beliefs go directly

Kangxi s Valedictory Edict
Emperor Kangxi: Valedictory Edict Emperor Kangxi was considered and still is thought of as one
of the greatest emperors in Chinese history. Kangxi s reign was longer than that of any other ruler
in Chinese history. One of his most notable achievements was uniting China after the turmoil upon
the collapse of the Ming. A main reason for the Chinese granting him the mandate of heaven or
granted the right to rule Chinafrom permission of the heavens was his knowledge and respect for
Chinese heritage and culture. Emperor Kangxi recorded a Valedictory Edict in December twenty
third, 1717 as an attempt to display sincere thoughts of what he believed it takes to be a virtuous
ruler. Kangxi wrote the Edict to reveal his deepest... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Valedictory Edict Kangxi views death positively and as a relief from the everyday grind
of virtuously ruling an empire. One of his most virtuous traits is he does not fear death and is
comforted by the idea of relief from the responsibility of his reign through death once his
sovereignty as a virtuous ruler is completed. One of Kangxi s great tasks left to be finished is
who is to succeed him. He views this as a great issue, and as a good emperor cannot neglect it.
Kangxi understands the weight of his decision and I believe he truly wants what is best for
China. The issue of an heir seems to be on the forefront of his mind and this dilemma weighs
heavily on his conscience. Kangxi states he wrote a letter indicating his intention for an heir, but
does not go into detail in his Valedictory Edict. There is a record that Kangxi s son Yinreng was
disinherited in 1708. There are stories that emperor Kangxi heard from his officials, that when
touring the country, Yinreng would recruit young men and women as personal sex slaves as part
of a major molestation scandal. This deeply saddened Kangxi and, while on his death bed,
reportedly appointed Yinzhen; Emperor Kangxi s fourth son. Yinzhen s claim to the throne was
highly controversial and heavily disputed because Yinzhen and his followers were only ones

The Brand Of Soap And New Delhi By Recording Signals Using...
Abstract The aim of this research work is to classify the most favored brand of soap in New
Delhi by recording signals using wireless EEG through Neuromarketing. A set of four major
soap brand advertisements i.e. Pears, Lux, Cinthol and Dove are considered for this research.
The advertisement (video) of above these brands are used to stimulate the subjects (9 male and
9 female with age range of 22 30 years) The response of the brain for the stimuli were composed
using a 14 channel wireless headset which has a sampling frequency of about 128 Hz. The
recorded signals are processed using fourth order Butterworth band pass filter. Then feature
extraction is done to extract desired features from the EEG signal. The mean value and then
power of mean value of each soap brand is calculated. The frequency spectrum of above soap
brands is obtained through time frequency analysis using Short Time Fourier Transform
(STFT).The results so obtained are plotted in graphs for final analysis. The present experimental
results are analysed and it is indicated that the subjects are mostly inspired on Dove brand of soap
compared to other brands. Keywords component; formatting; style; styling; insert (key words)

Hasbro Fan Poll Research Paper
I promised I d let you know my thoughts about what the Hasbro Fan Poll meant for the movement.
With Lucasfilm and Hasbro both silent on the issue, we are left to speculate. And that I what this is,
my interpretation of the facts and events laid in front of me.
Warning you now this post is going to be stream of consciousness. I rarely do these as they can be
difficult to follow, but...
With the Billboard recieving massive press and notarity from industry insiders, Lucasfilm decided
they couldn t just keep ignoring the Rebellion.
When Twin Suns Foundation was formed this gave LF an oppurtinity, unfortunately announcing the

Easy anwser is because we aren t, but that really doesn t do justice to how we avoided these
traps. What happened was we bridged gaps in the fandom. A gap the mostly just existed in our
own minds, as demonstrated by the results of the questioniare given out at Celebration. Nearly to
an individual people want the EU back. And before Celebration a good deal of ground work had
been down in not only bridging the gap but getting our name out to other major players in the
fandom. The fandom rallied behind Shannon McRandle, I reached out not only to the movements
vehement ditractors but also the directs of the thirty odd other fan groups that were invited to
celebration. The fandom gained a repetation for something it actually was responsible for. And

Youths Social Institution Of Street Drug Trade
Youths Social Institution of street Drug trade
Detroit is one of the poorest big cities in the country. One in three people there are living in
poverty. (Bergmann 2008:39) Once a thriving city in the 1940 s, Detroit has transformed into
one of the poorest cities in America today. Known for it s glorious and well lavished
establishments; restaurants, hotels, and local businesses were prosperous and fairly stable.
Through out the late 1900 s Detroit s economy made a turn for the worse. The initial period of
economic hardship began in the 1950 s and 1960 s because of the movement of the auto industry
to outside of the city. Workers from outside of the city filled many of the job positions and left
young inner city workers with no hope in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because street drug trade is illegal in the United States this inferior practice, a life of dealing drugs,
leads to negative economic practices and several social consequences.
The life of dealing drugs not only involves oneself, but it also involves family members and those
who are close. Luke Bergmann experienced this first hand through his ethnographic studies of
people living in Detroit that were actively involved in drug dealing. His studies discovered that
many of the lives were centered on drug trade to make ends meet. This is because families had
no job opportunities, so the parents take part in drug trade and the children only can follow in
their footsteps. The dealing of drugs negatively affect the lives of individuals and families, Dude
Freeman s in particular. His mother, Jessie Lee, was separated from Dude at an early age
because of gambling debt and the addiction to crack. (Bergmann 2008:90) Jessie s sister, Ruby,
had taken custody of Dude at an early age and eventually adopted him. Ruby herself had been
apart of the drug trade herself. Her boyfriend who she had been living with, Marvin Robinson,
was involved in the drug trade his entire life. His role in the drug trade often lead Ruby constantly
moving from place to place. He was selling crack out of the house and Ruby moved because she
wanted no part of it. During this time Marvin had a lot of jobs but never kept them. (Bergmann

Who Is Julius Cesar The Noblest
In this essay we are told to think of who was the noblest character in the play Julius Cesar.
Because Antony refers to Brutus by saying, This was the noblest Roman of them all In my
opinion this was a hard choice because back then there weren t a lot of noble guys. There were
all sorts of types; the jerks, those ones who did not care, the ones who basically did nothing all
day and the rest couple of actual men who were noble. But in my next paragraph will describe who
I think is the noblest. So in my opinion, I think that the most noble person in this play has to be
Brutus. Now, back in their time, no one was as noble as Brutus. At least they thought.. I sincerely
though that Cesar would ve been the noblest because the main character,

An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa ) Meeting Essay
I went to an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on November 26, 2016 at noon in Simi
Valley, CA. It was in the back entrance of a strip mall in a long, thin room with tables down the
middle and chairs around the table and around the walls in the room. It is only located four
minutes from my house, but I have never noticed it before. As I walked in there was a little
kitchen with coffee and a pecan pie and there were goodies on the table. I them walked into the
main room. A woman led the group for her first time. Next to her sat the secretary who helped
her out. She read some rules about the group and asked if there were new members. I raised my
hand and explained that I was a MFT student and that I had come to observe the meeting.
Everyone welcomed me and were very friendly and supportive. Others introduced themselves and
several were from out of town. Baskets were passed around for those who wanted to donate. In the
rules, it states that there were no dues or fees for AA membership, but that each AA group was self
supporting through their own contributions. Most people donated in a dollar or two. Then the
leader made some announcements. One that I thought was interesting was that this AA group was
going to have meetings all day on Thanksgiving to support those who needed help. In the evening,
there would be a Potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was mentioned that two people were bringing
turkeys and another person was bringing a ham. I imagine that the holidays would be a

Project Management Body Of Knowledge Guide
Square Enix Co., Ltd has been a striving company in the gaming industry especially in the
financial year of 2014/15 bringing home a net income of 9.8 trillion yens (US$80 million)
(Watanabe, 2015), one of the best results since 2008. However, according to CSRHub (2015),
Square Enix has been rated in the bottom 2 percentile for Corporate Social ResponsibilityRankings,
fairing lower than competitors. This has raised an alarm amongst the stakeholders and executives as
environmental and sustainabilityissues were left out in the 2015 annual report (SQUARE ENIX

Why Have Interpretations of Oliver Cromwell Changed over...
Oliver Cromwell was born in 25 April 1599. Cromwell Died on 3 September 1658. He rose from
fairly humble beginnings to become the most victorious military and political leader of the
Civil Wars, who was part of the joint republican, military and parliamentarian effort that caused
the downfall of the Stuart monarchy as a result of the English Civil War, and was consequently
invited by his associate leaders to assume a head of state role in 1653. As such, Cromwell ruled
as Lord Protector for a five year segment (1653 58) of the 11 year period of Republican
Commonwealth and settlement rule of England, and technically of Ireland, Wales and Scotland. As
one of the commanders of the New Model Army, he played an essential role in the defeat of... Show

By contrast, by the 1930 s and 1940 s many historians thought Cromwell was a cruel military
dictator. This was because in the 1930s and 1940s most scholars saw him as a treacherous
dictator, along the lines of Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler. In recent decades nearly all the scholars
have been favourable. During his lifetime, some areas painted him as a fraud encouraged by
power for example, The Machiavellian Cromwell and The Juglers Discovered, both part of an
attack on Cromwell by the Levellers after 1647; present him as a Machiavellian figure. After his
death and public humiliation there were many accusations and a few encouraging descriptions,
such as John Spittlehouse s A Warning Piece Discharged which compared him to Moses,
rescuing the English by taking them securely through the Red Sea of the civil wars.[8] The great
royalist historian Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon, in his History of the Rebellion and Civil
Wars in England (1667) acknowledged that Cromwell will be looked ahead by posterity as a
brave bad man . Clarendon argued that Cromwell s rise to power had been helped not only by his
Great Spirit and energy, but also by his brutality. The nobility was particularly argumentative to
Cromwell, in large part because of his well built request to the ordinary yeoman. Today most
historians see Cromwell as a troubled and complicated

The Marfan Syndrome
Marfan syndrome is a genetic illness with significant morbidity and death (1). Prevalence
appears to be similar across the world, regardless of gender, and the estimate in the European
countries is 1 in 10,000 (2). The average expectancy used to be 32 years, but improved surgery
increase life expectancy to approach that of the entire population (3). The level to which
individuals are affected differs and those with the syndrome tend to be tall, thin and with long legs,
arms, fingers as well as toes (4). It is important to discuss the symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnosis,
and management of the syndrome. Apart from this, Marfan syndrome has several symptoms.
However, the most prominent indicators affect the skeletal, cardiac, and optical systems. The entire
fibrous connective can also be affected (4). Other signs include extreme nearsightedness, an
abnormally curved spine, flat feet, excessively limbs, and extraordinary and overcrowded teeth.
The central cause of the condition is a deficiency in the gene that enables the human body to
produce the fibrillin protein, which provides the connective tissue the strength and power to
support the body organ (4). Along with this, an individual inherits the abnormal from parents who
had the disorder, and the condition can occur in men and women in all races as well as... Show more

Escaping Salem Essay
Escaping Salem:
The Other Witch Hunt of 1692
American Economic and Social History
September 26, 2012
The seventeenth century was full of challenges; political, social, and economical. Across the board
individuals struggled to live, although the conditions had much improved from the beginning of
the colonies. Women in particular had a difficult time fitting into this patriarchal this society.
Women were defined by men and were seen as an accessory to men. In the colony of New
England women were learning how to have a silent voice, while still maintaining the proper role of
time. The way women were seen by men, who ran the colony, and the way men thought, not only
about women, but also about the world would sculpt the society and the ... Show more content on

Although in this case (Kate Branch) the Enlightenment thought directly influenced the process of
the trail, still the testimony of the women involved held less value than that of a man. Any women
seen challenging the thought of a man was at a greater risk of being accused of witchcraft. Daniel
Wescot and other men describe incidents involving Goody Disborough and Elizabeth Clawson.
These events started with an argument between a man and a women; the man later accused the
women of cursing livestock, children, or themselves by witchcraft. (Godbeer, 2005) The reason that
women were accused was that they disagreed with a man s point of view.
Sadly enlightenment thought did not enlighten the thought that women were intellectually equal to
men. The Enlightenment was a primarily a period of intellectual growth, steaming from science to
free thought. Science and the judicial system seem to be on opposite ends of the intellectual
spectrum, in Escaping Salem however that is disproven. Science is all based on evidence similar
to the judicial system. New England s court system may not have been as advanced as our Supreme
Court is now but they still used evidence to prosecute or unfortunately persecute. Stamford s court
systems require two eye witnesses to ever event used to convict. (Godbeer, 2005) Similarly science
must have an outcome happen multiple times for

American Dream Motivation
The American Dream
The American Dream is a dream to live in a place where someone s rights and freedoms can not be
taken away from them and where they can achieve their goals without anyone stopping them no
matter what their background is. People achieved the American dream through motivation and hard
work. Although as time passed, they became too lazy to actually work for it. Somewhere along the
way, people began to interpret the American dreamas a dream to live in wealth. Because of this, it
has made them think that happiness is defined by how much money they have. They also started to
find ways to get rich quick without working for it. Many people question whether or not the

J. B Priestley s Use Of Dramatic Irony In An Inspector Calls
J B Priestley uses a variety of theatrical and literary devices such as dramatic irony in this play to
present the characters to the audiences in a way that shows they are often deluded or false. The
play was set in 1912 but was not written and performed until after World War Two. Priestley s
intention was to make the point that everyone has social responsibilities and that they should
fulfil them too. J.B Priestley presents the Inspector as an unusual figure who is a catalyst on
stage, eliciting changes in the other characters. The Inspector enters during Birling s speech
where he is at his most arrogant. For example, in Act One the characters say I ve learnt in the
good hard school of experience and Everybody has to look after themselves . In lines such as
these, Mr Birling is portrayed as a self Confident and opinionated character to the audience.

Darby believes the collapse of the republic was one of the biggest benefits to Hitler s rise to
power. Since the collapse of Weimar was preventable, the war that followed should be too.
Clearly, Hitler s aggression was not inevitable because many events leading to Hitler s

aggression was not preventable because he gained so much power in such a little time span;
there was no stopping him. Darby reasons, Although the Nazis had been making significant
electoral gains in regional elections in the first half of 1930, no one (not even Hitler) anticipated
the surge in support they received in September. Nearly 6. 5 million votes made the party the

I am going to study three love poems. The first one is called First Love by John Clare
How does poet s writing before 1900 use language to write about different types of love? Consider
three love poems, two of which must be by the same poet.
In this piece of coursework I am going to study three love poems. The first one is called First Love
by John Clare; this poem is a very simple, sweet poem about a mans first love of his life. The
second is called My Last Duchess by Robert Browning; this poem is about the

Whereas the vocabulary in My Last Duchess is very obsessive, vocabulary in Porphyria s Lover is
possessive and also Porphyria s lover is very suspicious of Porphyria. Lake whipped up by the wind
,
Cold room , and Sullen wind are all examples/indications of the menacing love Porphyria s lover
has for Porphyria. Porphyria enters the room and looks like she has come in from a storm,
which she has, but Porphyria s lover makes it sound different. Her cloak is dripping . Porphyria s
lover once referred to Porphyria as mine, mine , this shows his obsession with Porphyria and
shows that he only feels happy when Porphyria is all his.
When her own hair murders Porphyria, Porphyria s lover says he has her love all to himself at last.
He doesn t feel guilty about what he had done God has not said a word .
Secondly, I am going to investigate the sentence structure of all three of the poems.
Looking at the sentence structure of First Love , the sentences are very short and simple, I never
saw, so sweet a face, as that I stood before but there are aw few complex sentences within the
poem They spoke as chords do from the string and blood burnt round my heart .
Rhetorical questions are also asked because he wants to find out a lot more about love, as it is his
first time in being in love. Are flowers the winters choice? Is loves bed always snow? are only a
few examples of rhetorical questions that are in the poem.

How Did Roman Influence Greek Architecture
The Romans were great admirers of the Greek culture, and down the road they merged their art
and knowledge into their own ways of living. Roman and Greek mythology are almost identical
except their actual language is different. The Romans brought in artist from all over Greece to
work in their areas so therefore Roman art work looked just like Greek art both in architecture and
sculpture.
The most important invention in the Roman architecture was the Arch, and thanks to the arch the
development of the aqueduct water conduct was created. This allowed every single house in Rome
to have water carried from the mountaintops with the ability for human use. The arch had symbolic
meaning to the Romans, it represented their power and creativity. Today we see arches everywhere,

The most important temple built in Rome, the Pantheon, was devoted to seven of the most

indigenous people all three attempts to settle at Roanoke Islandwere thwarted in one fashion or
another. The third colonization attempt would not prove to be a charm for England, as these 118
colonists disappeared with little evidence of what had happened to them.
Background
There were several factors that influenced Queen Elizabeth I of England to grant Sir William
Raleigh a charter to colonize North America on March 25, 1584 (Mallios p.59). Tensions between
the English and Spanish governments were strained at the time that this charter was granted.
England and Spain hoped to achieve several, competing goals by colonizing the New World. ...

Similarities Between Slavery And Jane Addams
On the other hand, while Jane Addams did not live among the unfortunate events of slavery,
Addams had a normal childhood in a comfortable environment. However, Addams had her own
share of obstacles, Addams felt different due to her chronic sickness, spinal sclerosis, and in
addition, she had low self confidence. Addams considered herself ugly and would even remove
herself from her father when walking to church because she would feel that she was embarrassing
him. Though Addams father did not view her that way, an already self made man, they both shared
a strong relationship to which she was majorly influenced. Addams father taught her about the
importance of self help, discipline, and work. Even as a child, Addams witness the adversities that

Agriculture In America
Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good
morals and happiness. Thomas Jefferson. Education and agriculture have always been a major key
in the lives of many Americans. In early years many Americans lived on family farms producing
food and fiber. Planting and harvest times determined when children would attend schoolbecause
older siblings needed to be home to assist with crops. Most food came from family farms instead of
a grocery store, as they do now. Today s youth have no idea how difficult growing and harvesting

The Adventure of the Hero (Part One)
Prologue
In The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell dives into his theory that every culture s
myths share a sense of universality. In other words, all the myths of each culture stem from a
common ancestor, or idea. Campbell shows a very headstrong opinion on his theory, as if it is a
universal truth that cannot be altered because this theme will always be the one, shape shifting yet
marvelously constant story that we find. His use of the word shape shifting insinuates that these
myths are different but simply changing slight form from the original, which is not an actual myth
but a collection of similar myths. The prologue lays out a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the Oedipus myth a theme that a son wants to follow his father s behaviors while loving his
mother. The son in this story unknowingly murders his father in battle before marrying his own
mother, which he did not know was his mother. Campbell believes that all myths share three
common steps in the Hero s journey: Separation initiation return: which might be named the nuclear
unit of the monomyth. One way this is enforced is through the Buddha s journey. He goes through
temptation followed by transcendence. Then, the Buddha returns to society with enlightenment.
Also, the authors referencing of other cultures, in particular North American society, is often
hidden but it still has a strong presence and message. Without a stronger awareness and deeper
meaning, the society is doomed. The prologue ends with Campbell s view of The World Navel,
which all things, in particular mythology, stems from a common image/ source. All

against both his pet cat and wife. The transformation of the narrator is revealed by his out of

help unravel his transition into insanity and indulgence into his perverse nature.
In this story, the narrator begins by saying he considers himself to be a perfectly normal person,
known for his love of people and most importantly animals. His parents supported his admiration
of animals and growing up he was able to have many different kinds of pets. When he became an

At such times, although I longed to destroy it with a blow, I was yet withheld from so doing,
partly by a memory of my former crime, but chiefly let me confess it at once by absolute dread
of the beast. The narrator wishes to hurt the cat yet the only reason stopping him from doing so is
his own fear and guilt for what he had done to Pluto. Referring back to the beginning of the story

Diversity In The Workplace
Essay The demand for high quality talent is outstripping supply and this is not expected to
change. The above statement is true in today s world economy and hence relying on local
talents is not enough, so companies should also consider foreign talent markets for obtaining
high quality and dedicated talents. The workplaces need to be more diverse in order to survive
in today s non static market. What foreign talents bring is vision and experiences which might be
applicable in their local market but the learning that can be obtained from those experiences will
definitely help the company which plans to hire them and that learning can be applied to similar
markets as well. What is meant by Diversity in Workplace? The basic concept for diversity is
rapidly developing. It is no longer just about creating heterogeneous workforces, but now it is also
about using that workforce to create the innovative products, services and business practices that
can give a company a competitive advantage in the market. And on a global scale, as companies
compete, diversity and inclusion have to frequently shift, as different markets and different cultures
have varied definitions of what diversity means. In today s market almost all executives understand
that their companies cannot be successful on a global platform unless they have a diverse
workforce. A diverse workforce is necessary to drive innovation, foster creativity and guide business
strategies. When a company has people from multiple

Essay on Robert Frost Mending Wall
It is no secret how Robert Frost feels about walls after reading his poem Mending Wall . To say
that Frost admired and favored walls would be a lie. On the contrary, based on his poem it is
apparent that he would prefer there be no walls present. I was led to ask myself, what type of
wall is Frost referring to? It is not merely a physical wall made of stone, but a barrier that people
place among each other to create an illusion of separation and protection. The style of the poem
makes it simple to read, however when you take a closer look into the poem, you discover a whole
new meaning. Frost uses a variety of techniques throughout his poem such as metaphor, symbolism
and imagery to help us understand his feelings and how those feelings... Show more content on

Isn t it/ where there are cows? But there are no cows here (Line 29 31). Ironically he also states, I
have come after them and make repair/ where they have left not one stone on a stone (Line 6 7).
He is otherwise saying that although he feels the repairing of the wall is unnecessary, in order to
maintain peace between his neighbor he will rebuild the unnecessary wall. It would make sense
to simply have Frost leave the wall alone, thus ending the separation, but he chooses not to,
indicating that he too finds comfort in the presence of the wall. One of the first things that I
noticed about the style of the poem was that it was not broken up into stanzas, when looked at
sideways gave the illusion of a wall with gaps. It is a series of lines which become a poem that is
written as a blank verse iambic pentameter. Each line consists of ten syllables with the exception
of Lines 8, 16, 24, 26, 27, 28, 37, 43, 45, which contain eleven syllables. At first glance it is easy
to overlook this detail, but once it is noted the question arises, what is the significance in these
particular lines? In lines 26 and 45 the neighbor says to Frost, Good fences make good neighbors ,
we also learn in line 43 that, He (the neighbor) will not go behind his father s saying . These
particular lines are important because they help us to understand that the presence of the wall is
something that was instilled in the neighbor. By taking note that the mending of the wall

Symbolism In Inside Out And Back Again By Thanhha Lai
Symbolism is very prevalent in Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai. A papaya, a doll

Hockey Is The Root Of The Racism
Hockey fans are the root of the racism in hockey. For many decades Canadians have known
hockey as being their national sport. There are black Canadians, Asian Canadians, and Aboriginal
Canadians. What are the differences between those Canadians citizens but the pigment of their
skin? There is racism in hockey it is just not as clear as other forms of racism. Canadais so
welcoming and is a very diverse counrty. Hockey fans are so cruel and reluctant for change in
their world. The focus of this paper is on the lack of diversity in hockey. What will be examined is
the differences between black and white people, society s perception on hockey, Canada s history
with the sport and diversity. The overall question is: is it the sport or is it the people? Some
people may argue that Canada is one of the most multicultural countries in the world especially
in sports, but how deeply do Canadians embrace this diversity? Racism in sports occurs because
of both individual and team sports. This is main cause of the reported incidents in the media. It
is not the sport itself that induces racism it is the organizers and players that bring racism into
sports. However, without the involvement of people/society there would be no sport at all.
Therefore, it is very important that we make people more aware that there needs to be a notion of
fair play (telegraph). Hockey fans are protectionists by nature. We have to defend our game against
any ill perception toward it. , said local hockey

Racial Identity
Introduction:
As someone who identifies as a multi racial woman, I have found that my racial location in
society has been different based on who I am around. I am of lighter skin, and I have
acknowledged I am more privileged than a woman who is darker than me. As a multi racial
woman, I at times have had to make sure I fit in based on who I was surrounded by. I am aware
that in ways I do benefit from white privilege, but in a lot of ways I am still put into the
subordinate group by the dominate racial groups. I fully became aware of my racial identity as a
child, going to a predominately white elementary school. After my encounters with some of the
peers and teachers at this school, I became aware that I was different , and for the first time not
feeling fully accepted into my peer groups.
Dominant/subordinate spectrum:
As stated before I identify as a multi racial woman. I am African American, White, and Lebanese.
Racially I can fall into both subordinate and dominate groups. I am a lighter skinned, multi racial
woman, and in many ways, have been treated differently compared to those who have a darker
skin tone. Because lighter skin is viewed as more acceptable, I have been treated better by the
dominant racial group. The fact that my skin is lighter does put me at the higher end of the
dominant spectrum. I am taken more seriously, because my skin is lighter, I am more legitimate in
the eyes of some. Although my skin is lighter I am still placed into the subordinate

On Wishes By Mahmoud Darwish
Refugees are not terrorists, they are often the first victims of terrorism, was once written by an
anonymous author. Experiencing being a refugee in the middle east during times of war can be
extremely difficult. It can be a time of finding your strength, and building the courage to fight
for what you believe in. Mahmoud Darwish is the author of two poems Identity Card, and On
Wishes. Darwish s village was destroyed from the war, and later became exiled after joining the
political opposition. Darwish s perspective of war and having to mature faster than others are
discussed throughout his two poems. Throughout Darwish s poems he used vivid emotions to
express the many struggles you may run into while living life as a refugee. The first form of
anger that Darwish uses to express his feeling towards being exiled is through repetition.
Darwish uses repetition in his poetry as a constant reminder to himself and the reader that he is
who he is, and that he is angry at the Israeli Army. He is stating that no matter what they try to do
that he will still be an Arab. In the poem Identity Card, he repeats the phrase Put it on record. I am
an Arab. Growing up as a refugee, the author most likely faced many difficult situations based on
his country of origin. By repeating this phrase, he is acknowledging the fact that, although he is a
refugee, he too is a human. In the poem On Wishes, the phrase Don t say to me, is repetitive in the
story. The people talking to him

showing off that he was involved in crime. It s almost like he is emphasizing that he is a
criminal, so no one really suspects where he got his money. Also, before they went to lunch, he
showed Nick some of his most prized possessions, a picture of him at Oxford and a war medal
from a person called Montenegro. The picture was supposedly taken at Trinity Quad with the now
Earl of Dorcaster. His life at Oxford and in the army are questioned constantly. Gatsby spent these
large quantities of money to hide his home life and to grab the admiration and attention from

The Rio Grande Valley (Rgv) Is Growing Economically. There
The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) is growing economically. There has been an increase in new
businesses, especially in cities like McAllen, Edinburg, and Pharr. As stated on EconomicsHelp, the
main factors that increase economic growth are an increase in aggregate demand and aggregate
supply. Thus, a business will succeed in the Rio Grande valleyby analyzing the community s supply
and demand.
I lived in front of La Plaza Mall for about 8 years. I noticed the La Plaza Mall has a lot of
customers from Mexico. A lot of the Mexican customers seem to be attracted by the clothing and
buy in abundance. Moreover, the community indeed has increased their demand for clothing. An
example is Black Friday. Traffic worsens, and people camp outside... Show more content on

Moreover, these skilled people may not have a high school diploma, however, getting a
certification for credentials in their work would be less costly than having to go to a technique
school to learn the skills. By employing the unemployed skilled people from the community, the
local economy may improve over time. In other words, the skilled workers will have more
discretionary money to spend in other local businesses.
Supplies to make clothing is abundantly available in or near the RGV. Apparel supplies may be
sourced from downtown fabric stores in McAllen or Mexico. Regarding infrastructure,
surprisingly, it is a lot less costly to start a business in the RGV than in any other city. The Valley
is economically expanding and buying a location for a boutique now will be a great investment for
the future. Personally, I believe the Rio Grande Valley may become a destination place for tourist
like San Antonio or Austin.
Therefore, the high demand stylish and quality produced clothing proves that a boutique that sells
eco friendly and ethically produced clothing may succeed in the RGV. The clothing boutique that
sells quality clothing is an example of monopolistic competition. Being in the monopolistic
competition market means that the boutique offer a differentiated product, in this case being eco
friendly and ethically produced clothing, and competition is high.
As a new business, the clothing boutique should start out small and slowly grow over time. A

Innovation And The Global Economy
Innovation can be expressed as the application of new ideas to the processes and products and all
the productive activities of an entity that can result to increased productivity and value. The new
idea that alters how products and services are offered has the potential of bringing benefit to all
the stakeholders within an enterprise. It is erroneous to assert that there is a correlation between
the rising level of unemployment in the global economy with innovation and technology. A single
gadget that can perform work that can be done by a group of individuals, but the benefit of
innovation far outweighs the few changes in operations that lead to reemployment and loss of jobs
(Andersen 160). In a global economy innovation has been a key factor that enabled companies to
maintain their competitive edge, increase and improve production and operation processes and
generate adequate profits to remain in business. Scholarly study and historical analysis have
succinctly revealed that there is no connection between innovation and unemployment (Barro 105).
Innovation plays a big role in increasing productivity and in the longterm it creates wealth. In
economic, this wealth can be reallocated to other sectors and firms to generate demand for labor
for job seekers. It is imperative to recognize that the savings that crop up through the application of
new technology flows back to the economy directly or indirectly, helping generate more
opportunities. Innovation enables firms to lower

Psychological Effects Of Marijuana Essay
For this paper I chose the topic of Marijuana. Marijuana is the crumbled parts of the Marijuana
plant. The origin of Marijuana was written in the writing of the Chinese emperor Shen Nung. At
this point in time 2737 B.C. it was used as a form of medicine until it spread to India where it
was used recreationally. The Controlled Substances Act of 1970 classified marijuana along with
heroin and LSD as a Schedule I drug, i.e., having the relatively highest abuse potential and no
accepted medical use (Marijuana History. (n.d.)). This substance has been used in many different
ways over the years. Medical Marijuana can be ingested by smoking it (pipe, rolling into a joint or
cigarette, or by using a bong), vaporizing it, eating it, using it... Show more content on

When using the substance, it triggers these brain receptors which in turn triggers the effects that
you get using the substance. Some of the effects that come with this are mild euphoria, alterations
in vision and judgment result in distortions of time and space, acute intoxication that may
occasionally induce visual hallucinations, anxiety, depression, extreme variability of mood,
paranoid reactions, and psychoses lasting from four to six hours. Physical effects include
reddening of the eyes, dryness of the mouth and throat, moderate increase in the rapidity of the
heartbeat, tightness of the chest (if the drug is smoked), drowsiness, unsteadiness, and muscular
incoordination (Pharmacology of Marijuana MassCann/NORML. (n.d.)). The brain does
produce a TCH like substance that gives off a natural high without using any drugs whatsoever.
But when using the substance this increases the THC levels in your body with overall gives you
a chemically induced high. Using this substance often would be considered as chronic use. When
using Marijuana daily it can effect your memory but it is because TCH stays in the body up to 48
hours after using the substance (Pharmacology of Marijuana MassCann/NORML. (n.d.)) , so if
you do use it everyday you will eventually lose brain cells that ties to memory. Also there is
evidence that the THC content of some strains of marijuana being sold today might be as high as

Drones Artifact
Agricultural drones 2a.Agricultural drones are unmanned aerial vehicles that are used for soil
and field analysis. They can produce accurate 3D maps that can conduct soil analysis on
numerous soil properties. The goal of precision agriculture or drones is to more efficiently apply a
farm s limited resources to gain maximum yield (Nixon). They can also irrigate crops and analyze
crops, deciding which are healthy and which are not more effectively than farmers. My artifact
conveys the function of these drones by having depictions of them doing some of their jobs and it
compares them to traditional farming, showing higher efficiency. 2b.I used Adobe Photoshop to

Drones can collect data in a lot of different ways. They can use 3D mapping to analyze soil. They
can use this data to decide seed planting patterns, irrigation, and to monitor nitrogen levels. They
can also have hyperspectral, multispectral, or thermal sensors to identify which crops are more
dry or needs improvements. This data allows for the drone to decide which areas need more
attention. By scanning a crop using both visible and near infrared light, drone carried devices can
identify which plants reflect different amounts of green light and NIR light. This information can
produce multispectral images that track changes in plants and indicate their health. A speedy
response can save an entire orchard. Distance measuring equipment ultrasonic echoing and lasers
such as those used in the light detection and ranging, or LiDAR, method enables a drone to adjust
altitude as the topography and geography vary, and thus avoid collisions. All this data is used
through various cameras and imaging to make the drones effective at keeping crops healthy. With
such a large amount of data usage and storage comes a large amount of data security concerns. The
FBI and USDA believe that cyber attackers might target the farming industry by stealing farm level
data in bulk (information about soil content, past crop yields, planting recommendations, etc.) or
destroying it in protest. They have also warned the attacker may encrypt collected data and hold it
for ransom (Zorz). If these do

Organic Farming Produces Organic Food
Eat it if you can Pronounce It The word Organic can be defined in multiple ways but what the word
basically means that the product is derived from living matter. Organic farming produces organic
food. The goal is to encourage soil and water conservation, reduce pollution, and constrain
conventional methods to fertilize and control weeds. According to the U.S Food and Drug
Administration The term organic is not defined by law or regulations FDA enforces. Foods that are
organic does not necessarily mean that they are healthy. There are organically refined unhealthy
foods such as wholesome branded cane sugar and Applegate branded pork sausages products that
are labeled as organic but is obviously not the healthiest choice. Labeling a food product as organic
does not make consumption completely healthy for infants. Drug Administration Organic produce
derives from farming involving growth without using any type of genetically modified organisms,
synthetic fertilizers, sewage, and pesticides. When meat products are organically refined the
animals the meat comes from do not receive any antibiotics or hormones that manipulate growth
increase. The department of the United States government that is responsible for programming
anything related to food, agriculture and nutrition (USDA) defines organic as food produced by
farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to
enhance environmental quality for future generations.

Scapegoat Trevon Analysis
Once upon a time, there was a scapegoat TreVon. Let me tell you the story. TreVon was a small
little boy who always got in trouble so he was the perfect scapegoat. It was a fall morning in late
October. The leafs so the tree begun to change color. TreVon got up for school as usual. Little did
he know his whole life was about to change in the blink of an eye. He always got things blamed on
him because he was the youngest, but he could never imagine this.
TreVon was rushing to get out the door. He knew if he missed the buss one more time he was
going to be in big trouble. He s older brothers Luther and Jaron never favored him anyway. So they
did not care if he missed the bus. TreVon was very smart kid but he wanted to be cool so he did not

I guess I will have to call everybody s parent . Blake pointed at TreVon and said, Officer he gave

that, he thought they were friends.
Officer James took TreVon home. He explained to TreVon mother Mary that her son was caught

Pesticide Pollution
Fertilizer and pesticide usage has increased dramatically worldwide, especially in China. Twenty
years of uncontrolled economic development have created serious, chronic air and water pollution.
In order to support China s growing population, the country has drastically increased its usage of
fertilizers and pesticides in the agricultural sector. China consumes around a third of global
fertilizers, with rapid growth in use in recent years, driven largely by higher fruit and vegetable
production. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides threatens both public health and
agricultural productivity. Many farmers choose to use chemicals to keep weeds and pests from
destroying their crops while adding more nutrients to the soil. Yet such benefits do not come
without environmental costsnamely the pesticide pollution of China s streams, rivers, lakes, and
even coastal areas, as these toxic chemicals runoff into nearby waterways, contaminating the food,
drinking water causing massive health problems.
While fertilizers and pesticides, as stated above, provide economic benefits for the farmers in
terms of increasing yields; but also provide adverse impacts. These impacts on the environment are
called negative externalities. According to researchers, not many measures are being taken in order
to enforce safe, organic, and healthy fertilization. If a good has a negative externality, then the cost
to society is greater than the cost consumer is paying for it. Since

The Missing White Woman Syndrome Summary
The videos assigned for this week were not only interesting but also intense, definitely full of vital
information. I found the Missing White Woman Syndrome video very interesting, for it brought up
a really important point, that being *fear of victimization. In fact, is has been proven that even
though crimein the U.S. has declined, fear of crime is still a huge issue. However, I do believe that
it is mostly because of the extensive coverage crimes get nowadays, mass mediahas influenced the
way we consume news and their power has increased significantly. Moreover, as mentioned in The
Hidden Meanings in Kids Movies, media can really shape the way our perspectives are formed and
this is more significant since the new generation grow up consuming

Analysis Of The Drovers Wife By Raymond Tong
Distinctively visual is an illustrious characteristic in which the composer shapes a unique visual
perspective for the responder to interpret. Using a variety of techniques and languages, the
composer is distinctively able to create vibrant and lively visualisations within their work. Hennery
Lawson s short stories the drovers wife and in a dry season convey an unfathomable sense of
isolation and seclusion, in stark contrast to the romanticised nature of the Australian bush often
portrayed in the poplar culture while the poem the African beggar by Raymond Tong creates
images that is employed so that the responder can establish perceptions of and relationships with
the personas and their worlds.

The metaphor a heap of verminous rags and matted hair is used to establish an image of a thing
rather than a human as verminous is often associated with flies and matted hair , creating images
of filth, dust and neglect of physical hygiene. This is then juxtaposed to the next metaphor he

and instead conjures up images of reptile like creature watching for pray in the readers mind.
The pronoun he and description smallpoxed face are used to remind the reader that this is a

relationship of disgust with the beggar, as they are unable to comprehend how a human can be in
such a state. The sudden change of tone in the third stanza of African Beggar enables the reader to
re establish the perception and relationship that they had previously created with the beggar. lost in

that the beggar feels throughout his body as its endless pain. The reader visualizes someone

quantitative review. Randomized and quasi randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the
analgesic effects of adding SNB to FNB following TKA were reviewed and evaluated using a
predesigned protocol.

Eligibility criteria
We retrieved full reports and abstracts of RCTs that examined the effects of single shot or catheter
based infusion proximal SNB (SNB group) compared to placebo, systemic analgesia, or general
anesthesia (Control group) on analgesic outcomes in patients undergoing unilateral TKA. Only
RCTs where FNB was administered in both groups were included; and RCTs examining surgical
anesthesia and/or postoperative analgesia were considered. We excluded studies if analgesic
outcomes (at least analgesic consumption or pain scores) were not reported; if distal SNB was
performed; if the analgesic effect of SNB could not be assessed in isolation from other concurrent
analgesic interventions, such as local anaesthetic wound infiltration, intra articular injection, or
epidural anesthesia; if surgeries involved anatomical areas other than the knee joint, such as the
ankle; if knee procedures did not involve arthroplasty, such as cruciate ligament repair; or, if
adjuvants other than epinephrine were added to local anaesthetics. Additionally, trials involving
non adult patients ( 18 years) were also excluded. Search was limited to RCTs published in English.

Parasympathetic Stimulation
The autonomic nervous system is an integrated controlling system that is responsible for regulating
and maintaining homeostasis for the optimal function of all internal organs. Along with other major
systems, the autonomic nervous system dictates the status of the internal environment of the body
and will make adjustments through feedback loops based on internal and external changes detected.
Understanding the significance of manual autonomic regulation in a controlled setting will lay the
groundwork for future therapies in cardiovascular disease and many other diverse diseases. We

Strong vagal stimulation can decrease the strength of the heart muscle contraction by 20 to 30
percent (Hall, 2011 p.120). In a study done on canines under anesthesia, sympathetic stimulation
was inhibited when concurrent vagal activity was present and cardiovascular effects seen included
heart rate reduction by inhibition of the sympathetic nervous system and by direct hyperpolarization
of sinus nodal cells. Vagal parasympathetic activation was shown to predominate over sympathetic
activation (Levy Zieske, 1969). This response is known as accentuated antagonism (Olshansky et
al. 2008). In the Contemporary Review of Cardiovascular Medicine and Parasympathetic Nervous

British soldiers to the dead American soldiers to show that they are able to beat the Americans
easily. In the second picture, the author uses juxtaposition of the terrified Americans to the British
to show that the British are able to force the Americans to retreat. The Americans are shown as
weak, while the British are shown as capable of pushing the American army back. This allows the

Fear, Regret, And Ixiety In The Glass Menagerie
When the body contracts a germ, the white blood cells are in a race against time to rid the body
of this foreign bug that had invaded the human body so that the host does not get sick. If the germ
is eradicated in time, the body might vomit, sneeze, cough, or even have diarrhea. We can label this
as a form of in house purging. But what happens if the germ goes undetected?
Cathartic behaviors are those that cause the soul of a person to release things that are meant to
come out. How can one know how to release if you are not aware of the cause? In the Glass
Menagerie, each character is afflicted with a psychoanalytic behavior which has entrapped them in
their world. Everyone on the outside can see this affliction, except for those who are there. We
further investigate the cause of fear, regret, and anxiety each character possesses by applying these
psychoanalytic theories. In The Glass Menagerie, we are going to discover the psychosis conflict
within Amanda s fear, Tom s regret, and Laura s anxiety.
What is fear? According to dictionary.com fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending
danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being
afraid.
Amanda lives in constant fear. Some of her fear is real, and other parts are just purely imagined.
When fear gets out of control, or when we fear something that cannot actually harm us, it can
escalate to a point where it effects our daily functioning. Fear is no longer adaptive

  • 2. Difference Between Politics And Political Culture 1.The differences between political opinion and political culture begin with the public. Political opinion is what and how the public feel about certain policies and issues dealing with political leaders and generally how the country is running. Political culture on the other hand deals with the public s norms and values in society. The main difference between political opinion and political culture are how political culture deals with the religion, history and economy of a nation while political opinion is the way the people of nation view their nation. A major difference between the two and probably the largest distinction between them is political opinion is constantly changing with the ebb and flow of the nation s political climate while political culture tend be stagnant and rooted in the communities that first started them, being passed down generation to generation usually dealing with a foqaue or a custom or ritual that is common throughout a specific political culture. Political culture and opinion also have some similarities, political opinions tie directly into what political culture you belong too and both deal with the people s view on the politicsof government. 2. Political socialization is the process in which a person gains their political beliefs or values. Political socialization can be found almost anywhere you look but is most prevalent in the family home. Most children adopt the political beliefs of their parents even if those beliefs go directly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Kangxi s Valedictory Edict Emperor Kangxi: Valedictory Edict Emperor Kangxi was considered and still is thought of as one of the greatest emperors in Chinese history. Kangxi s reign was longer than that of any other ruler in Chinese history. One of his most notable achievements was uniting China after the turmoil upon the collapse of the Ming. A main reason for the Chinese granting him the mandate of heaven or granted the right to rule Chinafrom permission of the heavens was his knowledge and respect for Chinese heritage and culture. Emperor Kangxi recorded a Valedictory Edict in December twenty third, 1717 as an attempt to display sincere thoughts of what he believed it takes to be a virtuous ruler. Kangxi wrote the Edict to reveal his deepest... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Valedictory Edict Kangxi views death positively and as a relief from the everyday grind of virtuously ruling an empire. One of his most virtuous traits is he does not fear death and is comforted by the idea of relief from the responsibility of his reign through death once his sovereignty as a virtuous ruler is completed. One of Kangxi s great tasks left to be finished is who is to succeed him. He views this as a great issue, and as a good emperor cannot neglect it. Kangxi understands the weight of his decision and I believe he truly wants what is best for China. The issue of an heir seems to be on the forefront of his mind and this dilemma weighs heavily on his conscience. Kangxi states he wrote a letter indicating his intention for an heir, but does not go into detail in his Valedictory Edict. There is a record that Kangxi s son Yinreng was disinherited in 1708. There are stories that emperor Kangxi heard from his officials, that when touring the country, Yinreng would recruit young men and women as personal sex slaves as part of a major molestation scandal. This deeply saddened Kangxi and, while on his death bed, reportedly appointed Yinzhen; Emperor Kangxi s fourth son. Yinzhen s claim to the throne was highly controversial and heavily disputed because Yinzhen and his followers were only ones present at the time of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Brand Of Soap And New Delhi By Recording Signals Using... Abstract The aim of this research work is to classify the most favored brand of soap in New Delhi by recording signals using wireless EEG through Neuromarketing. A set of four major soap brand advertisements i.e. Pears, Lux, Cinthol and Dove are considered for this research. The advertisement (video) of above these brands are used to stimulate the subjects (9 male and 9 female with age range of 22 30 years) The response of the brain for the stimuli were composed using a 14 channel wireless headset which has a sampling frequency of about 128 Hz. The recorded signals are processed using fourth order Butterworth band pass filter. Then feature extraction is done to extract desired features from the EEG signal. The mean value and then power of mean value of each soap brand is calculated. The frequency spectrum of above soap brands is obtained through time frequency analysis using Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT).The results so obtained are plotted in graphs for final analysis. The present experimental results are analysed and it is indicated that the subjects are mostly inspired on Dove brand of soap compared to other brands. • 5. Hasbro Fan Poll Research Paper I promised I d let you know my thoughts about what the Hasbro Fan Poll meant for the movement. With Lucasfilm and Hasbro both silent on the issue, we are left to speculate. And that I what this is, my interpretation of the facts and events laid in front of me. Warning you now this post is going to be stream of consciousness. I rarely do these as they can be difficult to follow, but... With the Billboard recieving massive press and notarity from industry insiders, Lucasfilm decided they couldn t just keep ignoring the Rebellion. When Twin Suns Foundation was formed this gave LF an oppurtinity, unfortunately announcing the fan groups invited to @SWCO coincided with Rogue One s release. Originally this was to boost advertising, but if a Movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Easy anwser is because we aren t, but that really doesn t do justice to how we avoided these traps. What happened was we bridged gaps in the fandom. A gap the mostly just existed in our own minds, as demonstrated by the results of the questioniare given out at Celebration. Nearly to an individual people want the EU back. And before Celebration a good deal of ground work had been down in not only bridging the gap but getting our name out to other major players in the fandom. The fandom rallied behind Shannon McRandle, I reached out not only to the movements vehement ditractors but also the directs of the thirty odd other fan groups that were invited to celebration. • 6. Youths Social Institution Of Street Drug Trade Youths Social Institution of street Drug trade Detroit is one of the poorest big cities in the country. One in three people there are living in poverty. (Bergmann 2008:39) Once a thriving city in the 1940 s, Detroit has transformed into one of the poorest cities in America today. Known for it s glorious and well lavished establishments; restaurants, hotels, and local businesses were prosperous and fairly stable. Through out the late 1900 s Detroit s economy made a turn for the worse. The initial period of economic hardship began in the 1950 s and 1960 s because of the movement of the auto industry to outside of the city. Workers from outside of the city filled many of the job positions and left young inner city workers with no hope in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because street drug trade is illegal in the United States this inferior practice, a life of dealing drugs, leads to negative economic practices and several social consequences. The life of dealing drugs not only involves oneself, but it also involves family members and those who are close. Luke Bergmann experienced this first hand through his ethnographic studies of people living in Detroit that were actively involved in drug dealing. His studies discovered that many of the lives were centered on drug trade to make ends meet. This is because families had no job opportunities, so the parents take part in drug trade and the children only can follow in their footsteps. The dealing of drugs negatively affect the lives of individuals and families, Dude Freeman s in particular. His mother, Jessie Lee, was separated from Dude at an early age because of gambling debt and the addiction to crack. (Bergmann 2008:90) Jessie s sister, Ruby, had taken custody of Dude at an early age and eventually adopted him. Ruby herself had been apart of the drug trade herself. Her boyfriend who she had been living with, Marvin Robinson, was involved in the drug trade his entire life. His role in the drug trade often lead Ruby constantly moving from place to place. He was selling crack out of the house and Ruby moved because she wanted no part of it. During this time Marvin had a lot of jobs but never kept them. (Bergmann ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Who Is Julius Cesar The Noblest In this essay we are told to think of who was the noblest character in the play Julius Cesar. Because Antony refers to Brutus by saying, This was the noblest Roman of them all In my opinion this was a hard choice because back then there weren t a lot of noble guys. There were all sorts of types; the jerks, those ones who did not care, the ones who basically did nothing all day and the rest couple of actual men who were noble. But in my next paragraph will describe who I think is the noblest. So in my opinion, I think that the most noble person in this play has to be Brutus. Now, back in their time, no one was as noble as Brutus. At least they thought.. I sincerely though that Cesar would ve been the noblest because the main character, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa ) Meeting Essay I went to an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on November 26, 2016 at noon in Simi Valley, CA. It was in the back entrance of a strip mall in a long, thin room with tables down the middle and chairs around the table and around the walls in the room. It is only located four minutes from my house, but I have never noticed it before. As I walked in there was a little kitchen with coffee and a pecan pie and there were goodies on the table. I them walked into the main room. A woman led the group for her first time. Next to her sat the secretary who helped her out. She read some rules about the group and asked if there were new members. I raised my hand and explained that I was a MFT student and that I had come to observe the meeting. Everyone welcomed me and were very friendly and supportive. Others introduced themselves and several were from out of town. Baskets were passed around for those who wanted to donate. In the rules, it states that there were no dues or fees for AA membership, but that each AA group was self supporting through their own contributions. Most people donated in a dollar or two. Then the leader made some announcements. One that I thought was interesting was that this AA group was going to have meetings all day on Thanksgiving to support those who needed help. In the evening, there would be a Potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was mentioned that two people were bringing turkeys and another person was bringing a ham. I imagine that the holidays would be a ... • 10. Why Have Interpretations of Oliver Cromwell Changed over... Oliver Cromwell was born in 25 April 1599. Cromwell Died on 3 September 1658. He rose from fairly humble beginnings to become the most victorious military and political leader of the Civil Wars, who was part of the joint republican, military and parliamentarian effort that caused the downfall of the Stuart monarchy as a result of the English Civil War, and was consequently invited by his associate leaders to assume a head of state role in 1653. As such, Cromwell ruled as Lord Protector for a five year segment (1653 58) of the 11 year period of Republican Commonwealth and settlement rule of England, and technically of Ireland, Wales and Scotland. By contrast, by the 1930 s and 1940 s many historians thought Cromwell was a cruel military dictator. This was because in the 1930s and 1940s most scholars saw him as a treacherous dictator, along the lines of Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler. In recent decades nearly all the scholars have been favourable. During his lifetime, some areas painted him as a fraud encouraged by power for example, The Machiavellian Cromwell and The Juglers Discovered, both part of an attack on Cromwell by the Levellers after 1647; present him as a Machiavellian figure. After his death and public humiliation there were many accusations and a few encouraging descriptions, such as John Spittlehouse s A Warning Piece Discharged which compared him to Moses, rescuing the English by taking them securely through the Red Sea of the civil wars.[8] The great royalist historian Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon, in his History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in England (1667) acknowledged that Cromwell will be looked ahead by posterity as a brave bad man . Clarendon argued that Cromwell s rise to power had been helped not only by his Great Spirit and energy, but also by his brutality. The nobility was particularly argumentative to Cromwell, in large part because of his well built request to the ordinary yeoman. Today most historians see Cromwell as a troubled and complicated ... • 11. The Marfan Syndrome Marfan syndrome is a genetic illness with significant morbidity and death (1). Prevalence appears to be similar across the world, regardless of gender, and the estimate in the European countries is 1 in 10,000 (2). The average expectancy used to be 32 years, but improved surgery increase life expectancy to approach that of the entire population (3). The level to which individuals are affected differs and those with the syndrome tend to be tall, thin and with long legs, arms, fingers as well as toes (4). It is important to discuss the symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management of the syndrome. Apart from this, Marfan syndrome has several symptoms. However, the most prominent indicators affect the skeletal, cardiac, and optical systems. The entire fibrous connective can also be affected (4). Other signs include extreme nearsightedness, an abnormally curved spine, flat feet, excessively limbs, and extraordinary and overcrowded teeth. The central cause of the condition is a deficiency in the gene that enables the human body to produce the fibrillin protein, which provides the connective tissue the strength and power to support the body organ (4). • 12. Escaping Salem Essay Escaping Salem: The Other Witch Hunt of 1692 American Economic and Social History September 26, 2012 The seventeenth century was full of challenges; political, social, and economical. Across the board individuals struggled to live, although the conditions had much improved from the beginning of the colonies. Women in particular had a difficult time fitting into this patriarchal this society. Women were defined by men and were seen as an accessory to men. In the colony of New England women were learning how to have a silent voice, while still maintaining the proper role of time. The way women were seen by men, who ran the colony, and the way men thought, not only about women, but also about the world would sculpt the society and the ... Although in this case (Kate Branch) the Enlightenment thought directly influenced the process of the trail, still the testimony of the women involved held less value than that of a man. Any women seen challenging the thought of a man was at a greater risk of being accused of witchcraft. Daniel Wescot and other men describe incidents involving Goody Disborough and Elizabeth Clawson. These events started with an argument between a man and a women; the man later accused the women of cursing livestock, children, or themselves by witchcraft. (Godbeer, 2005) The reason that women were accused was that they disagreed with a man s point of view. Sadly enlightenment thought did not enlighten the thought that women were intellectually equal to men. The Enlightenment was a primarily a period of intellectual growth, steaming from science to free thought. Science and the judicial system seem to be on opposite ends of the intellectual spectrum, in Escaping Salem however that is disproven. Science is all based on evidence similar to the judicial system. New England s court system may not have been as advanced as our Supreme Court is now but they still used evidence to prosecute or unfortunately persecute. Stamford s court systems require two eye witnesses to ever event used to convict. (Godbeer, 2005) Similarly science must have an outcome happen multiple times for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People achieved the American dream through motivation and hard work. Although as time passed, they became too lazy to actually work for it. Somewhere along the way, people began to interpret the American dreamas a dream to live in wealth. Because of this, it has made them think that happiness is defined by how much money they have. B Priestley s Use Of Dramatic Irony In An Inspector Calls J B Priestley uses a variety of theatrical and literary devices such as dramatic irony in this play to present the characters to the audiences in a way that shows they are often deluded or false. The play was set in 1912 but was not written and performed until after World War Two. Priestley s intention was to make the point that everyone has social responsibilities and that they should fulfil them too. J.B Priestley presents the Inspector as an unusual figure who is a catalyst on stage, eliciting changes in the other characters. The Inspector enters during Birling s speech where he is at his most arrogant. For example, in Act One the characters say I ve learnt in the good hard school of experience and Everybody has to look after themselves . In lines such as these, Mr Birling is portrayed as a self Confident and opinionated character to the audience. Porphyria enters the room and looks like she has come in from a storm, which she has, but Porphyria s lover makes it sound different. Her cloak is dripping . Porphyria s lover once referred to Porphyria as mine, mine , this shows his obsession with Porphyria and shows that he only feels happy when Porphyria is all his. When her own hair murders Porphyria, Porphyria s lover says he has her love all to himself at last. He doesn t feel guilty about what he had done God has not said a word . Secondly, I am going to investigate the sentence structure of all three of the poems. Looking at the sentence structure of First Love , the sentences are very short and simple, I never saw, so sweet a face, as that I stood before but there are aw few complex sentences within the poem They spoke as chords do from the string and blood burnt round my heart . Rhetorical questions are also asked because he wants to find out a lot more about love, as it is his first time in being in love. Are flowers the winters choice? The above statement is true in today s world economy and hence relying on local talents is not enough, so companies should also consider foreign talent markets for obtaining high quality and dedicated talents. The workplaces need to be more diverse in order to survive in today s non static market. What foreign talents bring is vision and experiences which might be applicable in their local market but the learning that can be obtained from those experiences will definitely help the company which plans to hire them and that learning can be applied to similar markets as well. What is meant by Diversity in Workplace? The basic concept for diversity is rapidly developing. It is no longer just about creating heterogeneous workforces, but now it is also about using that workforce to create the innovative products, services and business practices that can give a company a competitive advantage in the market. It would make sense to simply have Frost leave the wall alone, thus ending the separation, but he chooses not to, indicating that he too finds comfort in the presence of the wall. One of the first things that I noticed about the style of the poem was that it was not broken up into stanzas, when looked at sideways gave the illusion of a wall with gaps. • 40. On Wishes By Mahmoud Darwish Refugees are not terrorists, they are often the first victims of terrorism, was once written by an anonymous author. Experiencing being a refugee in the middle east during times of war can be extremely difficult. It can be a time of finding your strength, and building the courage to fight for what you believe in. Mahmoud Darwish is the author of two poems Identity Card, and On Wishes. Darwish s village was destroyed from the war, and later became exiled after joining the political opposition. Darwish s perspective of war and having to mature faster than others are discussed throughout his two poems. Throughout Darwish s poems he used vivid emotions to express the many struggles you may run into while living life as a refugee. The first form of anger that Darwish uses to express his feeling towards being exiled is through repetition. Darwish uses repetition in his poetry as a constant reminder to himself and the reader that he is who he is, and that he is angry at the Israeli Army. He is stating that no matter what they try to do that he will still be an Arab. In the poem Identity Card, he repeats the phrase Put it on record. I am an Arab. Growing up as a refugee, the author most likely faced many difficult situations based on his country of origin. By repeating this phrase, he is acknowledging the fact that, although he is a refugee, he too is a human. In the poem On Wishes, the phrase Don t say to me, is repetitive in the story. The new idea that alters how products and services are offered has the potential of bringing benefit to all the stakeholders within an enterprise. It is erroneous to assert that there is a correlation between the rising level of unemployment in the global economy with innovation and technology. A single gadget that can perform work that can be done by a group of individuals, but the benefit of innovation far outweighs the few changes in operations that lead to reemployment and loss of jobs (Andersen 160). In a global economy innovation has been a key factor that enabled companies to maintain their competitive edge, increase and improve production and operation processes and generate adequate profits to remain in business. Scholarly study and historical analysis have succinctly revealed that there is no connection between innovation and unemployment (Barro 105). They can use 3D mapping to analyze soil. They can use this data to decide seed planting patterns, irrigation, and to monitor nitrogen levels. They can also have hyperspectral, multispectral, or thermal sensors to identify which crops are more dry or needs improvements. This data allows for the drone to decide which areas need more attention. By scanning a crop using both visible and near infrared light, drone carried devices can identify which plants reflect different amounts of green light and NIR light. This information can produce multispectral images that track changes in plants and indicate their health. A speedy response can save an entire orchard. Distance measuring equipment ultrasonic echoing and lasers such as those used in the light detection and ranging, or LiDAR, method enables a drone to adjust altitude as the topography and geography vary, and thus avoid collisions. All this data is used through various cameras and imaging to make the drones effective at keeping crops healthy. Organic Farming Produces Organic Food Eat it if you can Pronounce It The word Organic can be defined in multiple ways but what the word basically means that the product is derived from living matter. Organic farming produces organic food. The goal is to encourage soil and water conservation, reduce pollution, and constrain conventional methods to fertilize and control weeds. According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration The term organic is not defined by law or regulations FDA enforces. Foods that are organic does not necessarily mean that they are healthy. There are organically refined unhealthy foods such as wholesome branded cane sugar and Applegate branded pork sausages products that are labeled as organic but is obviously not the healthiest choice. When meat products are organically refined the animals the meat comes from do not receive any antibiotics or hormones that manipulate growth increase. Twenty years of uncontrolled economic development have created serious, chronic air and water pollution. In order to support China s growing population, the country has drastically increased its usage of fertilizers and pesticides in the agricultural sector. China consumes around a third of global fertilizers, with rapid growth in use in recent years, driven largely by higher fruit and vegetable production. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides threatens both public health and agricultural productivity. Many farmers choose to use chemicals to keep weeds and pests from destroying their crops while adding more nutrients to the soil. Yet such benefits do not come without environmental costsnamely the pesticide pollution of China s streams, rivers, lakes, and even coastal areas, as these toxic chemicals runoff into nearby waterways, contaminating the food, drinking water causing massive health problems. While fertilizers and pesticides, as stated above, provide economic benefits for the farmers in terms of increasing yields; but also provide adverse impacts. These impacts on the environment are called negative externalities. According to researchers, not many measures are being taken in order to enforce safe, organic, and healthy fertilization.
