Explain Why Teenagers Should Not Be Allowed To Play...
Teens should not be allowed to play violent role playing games because kids are learning to become
criminals and learning to efficiently kill other kids without getting caught. In many of these violent
role playing games kids are playing the role as the criminal. In reality kids are learning that it is ok to
become a criminals and it shows to. Many of the school shooters have been described as being
addicted to video games. These video games may have had a part in how they planned to do what they
did or how they got the mentality that it was ok. In many popular video games like Grand Theft Auto
V people hoped that there would be more violent things included in the game. Some thought that rape
should be one, but in some games you have to mimic

Nabokov Use Of Symbolism In Lolita
The novel Lolita exposes the pedophilia and perversion in the text; however, the child pornography
invoked is very similar to the abrasive ads, commercials, and images viewed in America. It seems
sanctimonious that such a controversial novel because of the pedophilia, does not take into account
objectifying young girls. Integrity is not the concern in Lolita; a novel that represents the exploitation
towards the young girls is. While Humbert is a perverse and gruesome man that has pedophiliac
desires, Lolita s use of language, form, and contextual writing sends a message towards the extortion
of young girls. To be more specific, in the article, Lolita speaks: Sexting, teenage girls and the law
mentions how Karaian considers Lolita to symbolize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nabokov commences the novel by creating this fictitious character, John Ray Jr. in Lolita s foreword.
Michael Wood in Knowing Lolita discusses the Ethical impact, of course, is what Nabokov endlessly
denied that he was seeking, and John Ray, Jr. stands for all the idiots readers and critics who are
benighted enough to think that such stuff matters in literature (17). The novel captivates the reader by
creating alliteration, anagrams, idiomatic, French phrases, prose style, traps, and hoax with poetic
attributes. Comparatively, Nabokov utilizes and reference Edgar Allen Poe, the American writer and
literary critic who married his 13 year old cousin very similar to Nabokov with his 12 year old
stepdaughter. In the article, Wood goes as far as claiming, Humbert idealizes the dream of the America
s shallow, mass managed culture Nabokov s stylistic pandemonium really appears when Humbert
defines Lolita as a disgusting conventional little girl. She is the ideal consumer to whom ads were
dedicated (24). Lolita is locked and closed from the realm of society, innocence, and

Define The Two Standards Of School Lunches
The School Food Trust was commissioned in 2005 to give advice ministers on standards for food in
schools However, these standards will relate to school lunches as well as other food provided in all
local authority maintained schools in England. There are two sets of standards for school lunches
which are food based which will define the types of food that children and young people should be
offered in a school lunch and the frequency with which they are offered and nutrient based which will
set out the proportions of nutrients that children and young people should receive from a school lunch.
The government has also decided that similar standards should apply to all school food other than
lunches as recommended by the SFT. This means that no

Classification of Derivatives: Derivatives are classified in terms of their payoffs and as exchange

default risk. E.g. Futures.
Over the counters: Over the counters are customized contracts and they bare default risk. E.g. Swaps

How To Write An Essay On Donner s Journey To California
On April 6,1846 the Donner and Reed Party embarked on their journey to the country of California for
new opportunities and a better life. This was the driving force that called pioneers to make the long
1,500 mile journey across plains, mountains, and desert. However the Donners had encountered such
difficulties that no man or woman should experience, and barely made it to California alive. At the
start of the journey the Reeds and Donners encountered not one problem and reached Fort Laramie
with ease. We are now on the Platte, 200 miles from Fort Laramie. I never could have believed we
could have traveled so far with so little difficulty. Indeed, if I do not experience something far worse

Eventually that frustration is turned about one another and Reed was banished for killing John Snyder.
The crew still made it across the plain but their Hearty spirit was now tainted. Their misfortune
continued as Indians attacked them and poisoned 21 of their cattle, inevitably killing them. They had
sent two men for supplies but they still hadn t returned from the mission and the party was starved.
Tired and hungry the pack forged on towards the Sierras. Fortunately the two men they had sent for
supplies returned just before they attempted to cross the summit. Their luck didn t last and when they
reached the summits bottom, the first snow started to fall and a storm quickly followed. Their food
quickly ran out and they were stranded just 150 miles from Ft. Sutter. Patrick Dolan dies just a few
days into the storm and the group is starved and now sees the rotting carcass as a source of food, and
Dolan is the first human to be eaten. Slowly people die and are quickly eaten and soon a total of 12
men and women had died. Though Reed who was banished had reached Ft. Sutter was preparing
rescue parties for the rest of the group and his family. The 12 dead preserved the party and eventually
Reed had found them, but was only capable of bringing half the party at a time. The

The Great Presidents By Woodrow Wilson Essay
Presidential greatness isn t necessarily determined just by success or remembrance, but is determined
by the ideas that a president has and how it impacts the people. Each president sets out with an agenda
to accomplish and to leave a legacy behind, however, only few presidents are remembered, celebrated,
and taught about. The history of great presidents often correlates to time of war for America. This is
because great presidents often emerge to the people in times of crisis, such as wars. Of the many great
presidents, Woodrow Wilson, offers unique qualities such as energy, intelligence, and leadership that
make him a great president. The traits of a great president are beginning to be defined first in
Federalist 70 by Alexander Hamilton. In this document, Hamilton outlines the need for a strong
executive branch and the need for a strong president. A trait that Hamilton believes defines a good
president is a trait of strong energy; energy to protect the nation, secure the liberties, and help
administer laws to help promote the stability of the nation. Hamilton argues that a feeble executive
implies a feeble execution of the government. (Lawler). Without a strong, energetic president as the
backbone to provide leadership, the country can fall into the traps of factions or anarchy, ultimately
destroying the government. In addition to strength and energy, intelligence and leadership is crucial
for a president to be effective and great. Leadership is a necessary quality to

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning In Hockey Essay
In 2014, the hockey players of a Wisconsin tournament had to be treated because of carbon monoxide
poisoning, which may have occurred as a result of ice resurfacing equipment that malfunctioned.
Because of the mass carbon monoxide poisoning that took place, US health officials want to raise
awareness of this event to avoid identical situations in the future. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly
Report describes the largest carbon monoxide poisoning in the history of Wisconsin, which was
published recently to bring awareness to this hidden danger. It happened December, 13, 2014, when a
hockey player of 20 years old collapsed and lost consciousness when playing at the indoor rink,
located at Lake Delton. The event attracted more than 100 hockey fans ... Show more content on

What can an ice arena manager do to prevent these poisonings? First, they can use electric powered
models instead of gas. Second, they should check their arena for adequate ventilation, and they should
look to make sure that their ice resurfacers receive regular maintenance. In some of the states within
the United States, we have witnessed new policies that have created indoor carbon monoxide
poisoning requirements to avoid the giant poisonings that occur otherwise. At the suggestion of the
authors of this report published in the CDC, health officials should look at considering these setting up

benefits for emergency volunteers
Emergency volunteers often have no similar protection. Some states provide benefits for registered
emergency volunteers, but those benefits are often limited. The lack of reliable benefits may be a
barrier for potential emergency volunteers. It may also discourage employers from assigning their
employees to work as emergency volunteers, because the employer s workers compensation insurance
could be responsible if the employee is injured. Injured emergency volunteers who do not receive
workers compensation benefits can file a civil liability lawsuit against the organization for which they
were working, with a more unpredictable and potentially more costly outcome.
These requirements affect a wide variety of professions, but of particular relevance in the emergency
management context are healthcare professionals, architects, and engineers.
In North Carolina s VPA, emergency services workers are protected for emergency services activities,

The Great Depression Was The Single Most Devastating...
The Great Depression was the single most devastating economic catastrophe that had resounding
effects and consequences on people all over the world. Did the various expansionary monetary
policies employed by the Fed help the US pull out of the Great Depression during the Hoover
administration? What was done differently after Roosevelt became president? Many economists and
historians have argued that the misguided monetary policies during the Hoover administration
including the mistiming of interest hike, allowance of the decrease in national money supply and
reluctance in expansionary monetary policies due to the maintenance of the gold standard were
contributive to the length and severity of the Great Depression. Several estimates from various models
have suggested that the mistakes made in the monetary policies during the same period contributed to
around 20 to 70% of the decline in real output during the Hoover administration (Fishback, 2010, pg
386). After the Roosevelt administration took control in 1933, recovery began primarily due to the
abandonment of the gold standard and the appointment of Eugene Black as the Chair of the Federal
Reserve. This argument is backed by numerous case studies, economic models, and research papers.
Researching these two questions would provide a deeper insight into some of the monetary policies
implemented today and also make sure that history doesn t repeat itself. Facts presented below
supports the argument on how the Fed s monetary

Queen Elizabeth Patriarchy Essay
There are many women over the ages that would be called feminist. Those would be the women (and
even men) that stood up and face the oppressors of women s rights head on, but the backed justice to
have an open dialogue has only been around for about a hundred years. Before that time you were
likely to be imprisoned or killed. To get around this patriarchy, women like Queen Elizabeth and
Elizabeth Cary, borrowed the old poetic device of allegory. The argument I m going to present is that
these women, through their allegories, helped paved the way for women s rights and political power.
Born in 1533, Elizabeth I came into the world with a promise and blessings. Shakespeare would later
put prophetic words into her grandfather s mouth saying, This royal infant heaven still move about her

You have a woman, a queen, a ruler of British Empire, and surrounding her were aristocrats, priests,
judges, and generals, all who were men. There were some that loved her, and treasured her, but there
were plenty that loathed the idea of taking commands from a woman. When she wrote the poem, The
Doubt of Future Foes, it is clear that Mary, The daughter of debate (Elizabeth I, 134), her half sister,
was the main focus, but I also feel it was written to others within her count that whispered tales of
uprising. I have two areas of support. The first was that she, Elizabeth, made the poem public for all to
see. If it was just for her half sister, why not just give it to just her. No, I feel she was making a
political statement here. She was showing her authority, and perhaps knowledge of ill plots that
surrounds her. The second comes from one line in the poem. To pull their tops who seek such change

Is Facebook Making Us Lonely Summary
In the article Is Facebook Making Us Lonely , Stephen Marche discusses the effects and utility of
network in people s life. Marche establishes how Facebook is making us more isolated and replacing
deep connections from society. He also established that isolation is an option in which we are blinded
pushed towards by social networking. According to Marche, Facebook is a tool that people have to
learn how to used because this tool becomes what people make of it. Facebook has been a media to
help people meet others that are far apart but it has also turn out to be a way to lock people into
solitude. According to Marche We meet fewer people. We gather less. And when we gather, our bonds

Despite that, there are many people that decided to detach from social network and work to create a
better outside world life, but we still have connections and distractions from the social media;
transfixed by the glare of a screen, hungering for response (Marche, par 5). People are constantly
waiting for a response and not only by the internet but by the world itself, and for that reason, we
expect that Facebook could be an answer of all the things we need answer for because Facebook is
made off the outside world. The only problem is that we do not know when will that happen, or if it
would happen eventually, but we are wasting time waiting for something that is not accurate to happen
and that does not benefit us or help us find an answer to the things that we are looking for. Marche
allude that It s a lonely business, wandering the labyrinths of our friend s and pseudo friends projected
identities, trying to figure out what part of ourselves we ought to project, who will listen, and what
they will hear (Marche, par 22). That is the moment when loneliness comes, in the time that we wait
for a response and we do not find one, either because no one pays attention to us or either there is not
an answer that could be found in the social network. There is a disappointment when what you are
looking for cannot be found because you do not receive help from others and because of that, you
blame Facebook within the people on it. As you blame others, you end up believing that the same way
social media works, outside world does as well. We end up with less friends to trust and ask for help

Vladimir Putin Chapter 1 Summary
Summary: Chapters 3 4 Vladimir Putin s move from St. Petersburg to Moscow signaled the beginning
of the Putin era. Throughout his time in the KGB and as first deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, he was
rarely ever seen as a man of high honor and prestige. His positions included advancing the agendas of
those around him, but he rarely ever aimed to advance his own career. Despite this lack of ambition,
Putin s admirable personality traits and various political connections led to his accelerated rise to
power. Upon being officially inaugurated on May 7, 2000, Putin s boldness and authority acted as a
saving grace for Russia and its people. Throughout the 1990s, the state of Russia s economy, politics,
and society as a whole was in constant turmoil and disarray. President Yeltsin campaigned on the basis
of drastic economic change that would transform Russia from a bleak totalitarian past to a bright and
promising democratic future. In order to fight the stagflation caused by the Soviet s command
economy, Yeltsin enacted measures of shock therapy to slowly reconstruct the failing economy. These
measures included removing government price controls on numerous products, lifting wage controls
on various jobs, cutting military spending to spare the budget deficit, and handing out vouchers to

time; that is until he got summoned to Moscow in 1996 and involved himself in Kremlin politics.

The producers also manage to use light very effectively in the film to give of a certain impact that they

they give of shadows from the fire, which makes them grow larger so to Scar, they seem more
dangerous and powerful as they are larger and also the light shines on their faces in a way that lights

The Misuse Of Technology In The Veldt By Ray Bradbury
We rely on technology nowadays to do simple tasks for us like dry our hair, research answers on the
web, and watch television for entertainment and for the news. Technology is being over used for very
simple things, what if we relied on them too much as a whole for us to forget doing simple task?
Would it be helpful to us that we rely on technology to do everything for us? In the story The Veldt ,
the author Ray Bradbury communicates that the misuse of technology can lead to unforeseen
disadvantages, he demonstrates the theme through his uses of imagery and symbolism.
The author Ray Bradbury uses imagery of the setting, which is the house, to develop the misuse of
technology. The story begins with the Hadley s being delusional about their children, thinking there is
something mentally wrong with them because of what the children has portrayed in the nursery. The
nursery in the story is described as an African Veldt, ...presently an African veldt appeared, in three
dimensions, on all sides, in color reproduced to the final pebble and bit of straw. This quote implies
how the nursery can be realistic due to the children thoughts. By doing this, Bradbury made the
parents scream at the end of the story as the lions started to edge slowly forward towards them. That
sun. He could feel it on his neck, still, like a hot paw. And the lions. And the smell of blood. This
sentence suggests how the African Veldt looks like a menacing place to be because of the lions that are

Reflection Of A Crucible
A crucible is a situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation
of something new. Everyone in their life has experienced or gone through a crucible that has had a
great impact on how they view something. From my perspective I have experienced a crucible that
changed how I viewed the simple things. My crucible was how much my mom did for me and I never
noticed how blessed and thankful I am for her. My mom has so much opacity to the little things for me
that I don t notice but when she doesn t do the little things I notice why she didn t do it.
The little things my mom did for me was she always calls me right after school and asks me how my
day at school went or how I felt. I always looked forward to when my mom called me. Another little
thing she would do is she ask me if I ever wanted anything for her to buy. I would always crave a
donut or iced coffee or just in general food. I never noticed how no matter what weather it was she
would always ask me if I wanted anything. I would never noticed when I asked for an iced coffee in
the winter she would never complain on how already her hands were freezing and imagine your hands
so cold and carrying ice coffee with snow in your face. I never genuinely appreciated how mom never
complained on how cold she was, and she does all these kinds of things as in of how much love she

Thermal Management At High Heat Fluxes Essay
1. Abstract
Thermal management in the supersonic combustion chambers subjected to high heat fluxes is vital for
maintaining their integrity. At high temperatures ordinary materials cannot sustain the high heat loads.
On the other hand, the prevailing high temperature gradients, necessitates the provision for expansion
to avoid build of thermal stresses for the integration. Hence, thermal management needs a holistic
approach encompassing the areas of material selection, heat transfer and structural integration. The
current state of art research is focused on achieving this by active cooling through endothermic fuel,
which is used as a coolant due to the advantages such as reduced weight and improved heat sink
capacities. Particularly the space applications pose serious limitations on the weight. 1D thermo
structural hand calculations can be easy point to start with to arrive at the optimized shape of the
single actively cooled channel. But the underlying assumptions and owing to the 1D nature of the such
calculations, pose limitation towards understanding the behavior of the active panel as a whole and
achieving the practical integration strategy. Therefore, there is need to perform 3D CFD and FEA
thermo structural analysis of the active panel structure. This paper extends upon the approach of 1D
analytical material selection methodology through weight optimization followed by rigorous CFD and
FEA analysis to understand and device ways for structural integration for long

The Ganges River Of India
The Ganges River in India is an important river system that provides water for personal use, industry,
and agriculture for well over half a million people. This river also serves a major role in the region s
cultural and religious practices. It is widely believed that this body of water is the Earthly
manifestation of the Hindu goddess Ganga. For thousands of years, people have believed that Ganga
can wash away a lifetime of sins and, therefore, no amount of pollution can harm her (Conway). As a
result of this belief, industrial, agricultural, and human waste are dumped into the river on a daily
basis.
Hindus also believe that bathing themselves in the water of the river will wash away all of their sins
and grant spiritual rewards such as deliverance from sin and attainment of nirvana (Das). Hindus
believe that to die on the banks of the Ganges is an assurance of heavenly bliss and will grant
emancipation from the eternal cycle of birth and death (Das). Due to this belief, millions of people use
the banks of the river for cremation and burial (BBC). Aside from religious ceremonies, poor people
who cannot afford to be cremated are wrapped in white muslin and placed in the river (BBC).
Following ceremonies, the ashes and dead bodies are dumped into the river. These religious practices
are believed to be a primary cause of the degraded water quality of the Ganges River near Varanasi. If
the quality of water continues to become even more degraded, a crucial part of the

Financial services differ greatly depending upon where you are at. Different countries have different
currencies, markets, laws, and accounting practices to list a few. Because of this most financial
institutions use a similar organizational structure. Goldman Sachs breaks their operations into four
segments: Institutional client services, investment management, investment banking, and investment

Why Is Montresor Wrong
Has someone ever done something to you that angered you? Louis L Armour states Anger is a killing
thing. It kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had before it takes something
from him . In the story Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, the main character, Montresor, kills
his friend because fortunato did him wrong. Nemo me impune lacessit (Poe 289), says No one attacks
me with impunity . This is the cause of Montresor s actions. In this story Montresor lures his friend
into a cell, where he starves him to death as revenge for being insulted. This punishment is far too
harsh for such a little crime. Although Montresor felt bad after the death of his friend, it does not
change the cruelness, hatred, and anger he holds. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the story, Montresor states Let us be gone (Poe 292), merely mocking Fortunato before his
death. As you can see, Montresor was cruel to Fortunato, even during the process of murdering him.
Although he had said something this mean, Montresor could not stop. He mocked fortunato with cruel
his voice, and laughed as he suffered. Not only is Montresor cruel, but he is full of hatred. In the story,
Montresor says The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured
upon insult, I vowed revenge (Poe 286). This obviously shows the hatred Montresor holds, and the
lengths he will go to get revenge. This also shows that Fortunato had done something to him, thus
giving him a reason to hate Fortunato. Another part of the story showing Montresor this way is when
he says, I must not only punish him, but punish with impunity (Poe

Quotations In Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, And John Lennon
We see the quotations everywhere: Sometimes we have to fall apart so better things can fall together,
attributed to Marilyn Monroe, Be the change you want to see in the world, attributed to Gandhi, and If
I knew that I had eight hours to chop a tree down, I would spend the first six sharpening my axe,
attributed to Abraham Lincoln. These quotations are on Facebook profiles, in pop songs, in school
books, and in modern bestsellers. Julius Caesar, Mark Twain, and John Lennon are some of the more
common characters who are often referred to as some of the greatest word smiths of all time. The
problem is that many of the quotations have been tampered with and altered throughout history. Many
quotations attributed to famous people are, at best, paraphrases though often superior to the original.
Others might be subtly altered in the retelling, sometimes with little impact on their effect, but at other
times irresponsibly changing the meaning. Of course, many people think that it is a lot ... Show more

Weaknesses And Strengths Of The President George W Bush
To be a leader is no easy task. You are faced with complex decisions that affect others wellbeing, and
sometimes lives. The leader with the single most responsibility for others would be the President.
Therefore, analyzing his decision regarding 9/11 are a very daunting task. However, from a
managerial standpoint I plan to examine his strengths and weaknesses, the alternative resources he
utilized, and decision making strategies. Former President George W Bush has a ton of strengths. He
is a well educated man, and the first president to obtain an MBA degree from Harvard Business
School in 1975. On multiple occasions, he was calm and collected. The very first one being when he

It is because of being surrounded by such people that he can then trust them enough to handle difficult
tasks; therefore, enabling him to delegate necessary work. When a colleague was asked about his
leadership style he confirmed Bush is a delegator who leans heavily on trusted advisors (Roberto,
Cariogia 2002). When he can delegate he creates a support system to help him with decisions. He also
gave staff a lot of room to grow; by not getting bogged down with details. By giving the staff some
freedom to brainstorm on their own, he can trust them to add to a goal he has in mind. This also
requires him to be an avid listener, and not always just talk. This allows for more time for thought, and
fair consideration of everyone s ideas. As far as things Bush could improve upon, from a managerial
standpoint, there is not many. There are only two things that come to mind. One, was his ability to be
influenced by what I believe was deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz s opinion to invade
Iraq. While Bush chose to wait a brief amount of time before doing that, I do believe he allowed
someone else s agenda to be push to the forefront. Second, along those same lines, I believe because
he trusted others so much he did not do his own amount of due diligence. It is the leader s
responsibility to make sure information obtained is accurate, and trustworthy, before using it to make a
decision. These are the

The Independence Of Puerto Rico
Introduction
The attempted assassination of President Truman was an indication that Puerto Ricans would use any
necessary means to gain independence. Puerto Rico has been a territory of the United States for almost
a century. The citizens of Puerto Rico have always had different views on whether they want
independence or greater autonomy. The following essay will focus on the commonwealth status of
Puerto Rico and the attempted assassination of President Truman.
The commonwealth status of Puerto Rico between the 1950 1952 was with limited autonomy since the
Island was still under the Sovereignty of the United States (Francesco, C. Eugene, 1999). The United
States annexed Puerto Rico following the end of the Spanish American War. For almost a century
Puerto Rico has been under the influence of the United States. The constitutional convention of 1952
gave Puerto Rico the right to form a republican government.
The citizens of Puerto Rico were not satisfied with the current status. For instance, under the
commonwealth status, Puerto Ricans could not exercise their political rights. While they were
considered the United States citizens, they could participate in the voting exercise in the United States.
The Island has no representation in the Electoral College, which means that none of the citizens can
take part in the presidential elections. This was a major challenge for the Puerto Ricans, who felt that
there was a need for change. The Puerto Ricans were also not protected

Do studies of neurological disorders support the claim that specific language functions are associated
with distinct neural structures?
Student ID: 12926466 Studying language in terms of its localization of function has proven to be a
challenging task. Unlike other cognitive processes such as perception, attention and memory, language
research faces the constraint of studying merely human beings. Even though other types of mammals
and birds also develop some form of communication systems their complexity is not even close to that
of the human language. Facing these limitation, early researches that have embarked on the task to
clarify the neural mechanisms associated with language devised a study field called Neurolinguistics.

subject to epileptic attacks and exhibiting lack of ability to say anything else except the word tan .
During his stay in BicĂȘtre it was determined that his language comprehension and intelligence were
intact. On the day of Leborgne s death on 17 April 1861, Broca performed an autopsy on his entire

children, so it will be easy for them can know what author is describing. In addition, Blake uses words
delight , bright , tender , rejoice to describe about the lamb, they are also words implied to innocence.
The children are same as the lamb in the selection text and consider a innocence creature. They are
naive, happy and holy. Third, literary device helps to describe the innocence in the selection text. The

Neuromancer And The Matrix Analysis
William Gibson s Neuromancer, and The Matrix by The Wachowskis both depict a society in which
humans are under constant manipulation by indispensable machines. In Neuromancer, the protagonist
Case is indirectly manipulated by a powerful Artificial Intelligence named Wintermute. In The Matrix,
majority of the human population lives within a computer simulated world, run by machines.
However, both storylines depict the fact that manipulation is more abundant than is often seen, as both
protagonists are more frequently under the influence of other humans. Neuromancer and The Matrix
both demonstrate the nature of manipulation, and explore the fact that individuals are oblivious to the
manipulation that they face.
Manipulation is ubiquitous. Throughout the movie, the Matrix is presented to the audience as the as
the only source of manipulation, What is the Matrix? Control (The Matrix). The perspective shown to
the audience implies that the robots are the only manipulative force present within this society.
Morpheus introduces Neo to the concept of the Matrix, by saying You are a slave, Neo (The Matrix)
and further explaining it as A prison for your mind (The Matrix). However, even once Neo has been
freed from the matrix, he remains susceptible. Neo is constantly being manipulated by both the Oracle

The Right To Freedom Of Freedom
The freedom of assembly and demonstration is pivotal to a democratic society due to the fact that
peaceful protest allows citizens to participate in democracy by being active in governmental affairs
through voicing their grievances and opinions in a peaceful manner. The right to freedom of assembly
guarantees the possibility of peaceful protest without government interference and allows those
protesting safety and security and also allows those protesting to make use of their right to freedom of
expression. The act of peaceful protest allows citizens to make their voices heard when they usually
would not be, for citizens to raise and draw attention to issues that concern them and to circumvent
traditional legal processes whilst putting pressure on the government so as to not allow them to
infringe upon their rights. This right allows those who are vulnerable and powerless to express their
concerns in the only way available to them in a way that was disallowed during the Apartheid era and
is therefore pivotal in the exercise of all other rights afforded to the citizens of South Africa in the
Constitution. The right to freedom of assembly only applies when this assembly is peaceful, without
weapons, destruction of property and violence and therefore internally regulates itself by limiting its
own scope. The act states that no participants of a gathering may have any dangerous weapon in their
possession; a dangerous weapon is defined as any object that is not a firearm but

Summary of Theodore Sizer’s “Horace’s Compromise” Essay
Sizer s book, Horace s Compromise: The Dilemma of the American High School, is a fictional story
that represents the reality of the true educational system. The main character, Horace Smith, is a
highly respected English teacher at Franklin High School who is facing the dilemma of many reality
educators; the affects of the very controlled, standardized system of high school. Horace is at the age
when many teachers are near retirement; however, he isn t leaving anytime soon. Sizer quotes that He

The passage goes on to talk about how little the ratio is between teacher and student, for the
standardized system does not allow it. By requiring that everyone follows a steady curriculum adapted
to a student s supposed capability, crowding classrooms and misplacing many students in classes that
are below their potential. Horace claims that Pigeonholing honors, regular, and special needs students
sets up the self fulfilling prophecies. Oh no, Mr. Smith, I couldn t take AP English. I m not an honors
student... This suggests that many students are not encouraged to work up to a higher potential, for
they are bunched in between several other students in same level class as they are, limiting the teacher
s ability to get to know the student and his or her capabilities. Horace expresses this opinion with the
reflection that In any event, there are too many to absorb. May as well treat em all the same. Or accept
someone else s judgment about how swift a kid is, and go with it. Expect more, expect less. He also
speaks for the teachers when he says Compromise with your common sense: the kids are different, but
we can t admit it, even to ourselves. Horace also believes that the school s curriculum is unorganized
due to the set standards, stating that subjects are ...poorly defined and each of which is planned in
almost total isolation from the others... Students are expected to take on the skills

Gender Relations During The Jacobean Period
Deconstructing Gender Relations Gender in the Jacobean Period was approached differently than
gender in the 18th century. One can use the Jacobean period play Measure for Measure by William
Shakespeare and the 18th century play The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquhar to examine gender
relations during the two periods. The plays demonstrate how women were represented in society and
what societal expectations were at the time. The way women navigated their own sexuality, finances,
and power relation s improved noticeably from the Jacobean Period to the 18th century. During the
Jacobean Period women were not allowed to preform in theatres; all of the players were men and boys
(Spear 13). Because of the violent nature of theatres women didn t attend plays as Groundlings and
few could afford to sit above in the covered seats above. The theatre was a place for corruption and
immorality and women were looked down upon during the Jacobean Period for attending
performances in playhouses around London. The theatre was a harsh place where audience members
were tightly packed in. They would hiss, shout, and throw rotten vegetables at actors they disliked or
applaud and clap for those they approved of (Spear 14). The play Measure for Measure shows the
powerlessness of women during the Jacobean Period. The female characters in the play are helpless in
determining their fates. The central female character in Measure for Measure, Isabella, has been both
idealized as an ideal woman

Mpls Network Based Mpls Uses Label Switching And Reliable,...
If a business is looking for a way to have a system that is fast and reliable, as well as secure MPLS is
the best solution. MPLS helps with the transfer of data between different business locations and it has
the ability to scale for any size business so it makes it a very valuable investment. MPLS takes away
all constant routing lookups associated with regular IP routing and provides high quality performance
for company networks.
MPLS Description
Multi Protocol Label Switching(MPLS) is a technology that uses label switching to more data over a
network. MPLS is technology that businesses use to create their own private WAN (Wide Area
Network). MPLS is used to connect different LAN s (Local Area Network) together that exist in
different areas of the country. When first talking about MPLS one must understand that MLPS isn t a
service is more known as a technique. This means that it can be used for many different services that
may not be known as MPLS. MPLS seems to operate in the middle of the OSI model layers 2 and 3 so
it is somewhat of a layer 2.5 protocol. The reasoning being is that MPLS sits between those layers is
because it provides more features for data transportation on a network. One of the basic concepts
MPLS is packet labeling or label switching. In a regular Internet Protocol (IP) routing, every router
makes a IP lookup in order to determine the next router in the routing table. Which then forwards the
packet and this process continues for every router until

Cassiopea Xamachana Research Paper
Cassiopea xamachana, more commonly known as the upside down jellyfish, is commonly found in the
Caribbean Sea and parts of the western Atlantic Ocean. It lives near the bottoms of inshore ponds and
bays and other shallow, tropical waters. The upside down jellyfish can be found in sandy mudflats as
well. It is native to the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, but has also been introduced to the Pacific
Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. The upside down jellyfish appears very different than other jellies; they
have a green/gray color to them opposed to the usual red, blue or violet. It works like a camouflage, as
it makes them appear to be a sea anemone or a bush. They have radial symmetry, meaning that if cut

for feeding. It also has a depression on its bell that is used to attach to the ground since some of the

Examples Of Insanity In The Black Cat
The Black Cat, a short horror story by Edgar Allen Poe, told in a first person perspective, follows the

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
Albert Einstein wrote, Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it

The purpose of this speech is to explain how exams fail to fulfil their purpose of indicating ability.
Examinations, by definition, are a formal test of a person s knowledge or proficiency in a subject or

of their proficiency in the career they choose to pursue. This brings me to my primary question: Do
examinations really provide as an adequate indication of ability?

Exams have caused a lack of enthusiasm in the mindset of scholars and encouraged students to have
superficial knowledge which doesn t last long. At the cost of writing exams are many individuals who
do not succeed in a certain profession because they performed poorly on a particular exam. A change
needs to be made to the system of education by creating a scheme which encourages students to work
consistently and enthusiastically, and offers greater opportunity for each and every student to

The Hatshepsut Of Egypt During The 18th Dynasty
Queen Maatkare Hatshepsut, Pharaoh of Egypt during the 18th dynasty, from 1473 BC to 1458 BC,
was one of only a handful of female rulers of ancient Egypt. Her story is unique in Egyptian history,
and reigned longer than any other female pharaoh. Thutmose I, had many wives, and many children.
However, Hatshepsut was the daughter and only child of Thutmose I and his primary wife Ahmose.
Hatshepsut, was favored by her parents over her brothers. She was beautiful, smart, and had a
charismatic personality. Thus, despite her being a female, she had the makings to become a queen. Her
two brothers, died in unknown accidents, and she should have succeeded her father, as king, if she was
born a male. Thutmose I, Hatshepsut s father s reign was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technically, Hatshepsut did not usurp the crown, as Thutmose III was never deposed, and was
considered co ruler throughout her life. Hatshepsut was the principal ruler in power, she began to reign
as Queen Regent, using the title God s Wife. Hatshepsut assumed the pharaoh costume, which was
intended for males and included a false beard, the shendyt kilt, and the nemes headdress, with its
uraeus, and khat headcloth. At her coronation, she adopted the five great names: Horus Powerful of
Kas, Two Ladies Flourishing of Years, Female Horus of Fine Gold, Divine of Diadems, King of Upper
and Lower Egypt, Maatkare, Daughter of Ra, Khenmet Amen Hatshepsut.
Hatshepsut s reign was basically a peaceful one. The lack of frantic military activity during her years
in power is one of the outstanding and defining characteristics of her rule. She focused more on
activities like trade, and construction. She expanded trade with Nubia, Libya, and countries in Asia.
She also ordered expeditions to present day Somalia, which was then called Punt, to acquire special
goods like ivory, spices, and gold. Hatshepsut also restored and renovated several old buildings that
had been damaged or destroyed by invading armies. One of these was the temple at Ipet Issut, now
known as Karnak. In addition to the renovations, she built the Red Chapel for the holy barge of Amun.
Hatshepsut put up two huge obelisks that were covered in gold foil, reflecting the

Sundiata Historical Accuracy
The story of Sundiata, well reproduced by the Guinean historian Niane, relates how this king managed
to found the second famous Western African empire, the empire of Mali, in the thirteenth century. This
tale is still very popular in Mali and other surrounding areas, and is especially used as a way to
exacerbate the national pride and identity. The epic of Sundiata helps people to integrate themselves in
an historical ensemble and to get a hold on their history. Historical accuracy might seem necessary for
such a thing to happen. At least, that is what our Western standards would expect to find in an
historical written tale, as if every written historical text was accurate in the first place. This debate fits
within the whole discussion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a strong importance of castes, like griots, who are somewhat still the keeper of traditions and
history and who used to serve the rulers as reminders of the past to help them take decisions and
orators who relayed the words of the king to the rest of the population, but who are mostly today
musicians. The smith caste is also really important in the tale, there were the first to master the work
of iron. In modern Mali, they are less important, but some old families, like the Keitas, Sundiata s own
family, managed to remain prominent in politics. The actual president of Mali is, for instance, Ibrahim
Boubacar KeĂŻta, comes from the same large Keita family, just like many former presidents. It is just a
further proof that family in the 13th century was just as important as it is today. Indeed, family still
determines one s social status, friendships, activities and to some extent, destiny and in the case of
Sundiata s tale, his destiny was clearly determined because of his father and mother s families. These
families, just like today, were mixed, since one man could have several wives in traditional beliefs and
according to Muslim laws. The gender roles were strict, women were supposed to raise children, cook,
manage the livestock, whereas men handled the structure of the house, relations with other families
and certain food (baobab leaves,

College Cost In College
The author talks about college cost, and the effect it has on students and on how times it takes longer
to graduate. This is an important topic because college cost has been a problem for many individuals
for decades and it still is. College cost is something that shapes people s lives and it worries them
because college cost is what determines if they re going to continue going to college. It s something
that people should take lightly because college is pretty expensive. According to the advocacy group
complete college America, it cost 63,718 for one extra year to attend college. For students who take
longer to finish school because of certain requisites, it becomes a toll because of the cost. According to
Norton Field Guide to writing by Richard Bullock and Maureen Daly Goggin found a report on Los
Angeles bases campaigns for college opportunity, saying students who attend school 6 years instead of
4 years will lose 110,900 dollars in their lifetime. Many people in the work field and colleges expect
students to attend school for four years. According to the NFGW, nearly nine out of 10 freshmen think
they will earn their bachelor degree within the traditional four years. Yet In the NFGW quotes the U.S
Department of Education and they report that about 45 percent won t have finished.
I have encountered many people who have mentioned that college is very expensive and that it has
been a big factor on whether they would continue their education. People can take a break

Essay about War of 1812
March 27 Congress authorizes construction of six frigates to help protect American merchant fleets
from attacks by the Algerian pirates and harassment by British and French forces. They are to be
designed by Joshua Humphreys and Josiah Fox and built at six different sites. The contract for one of
those ships, to be named CONSTITUTION, is given to Edmond Hartt s Shipyard in Boston. Back to
Historical Events List 1794 1797: CONSTITUTION is under construction. Built in Boston to defend
the young American nation, currently CONSTITUTION is nearly as old as the document for which
George Washington named her. Both the document and the ship have proven to be resilient symbols of

1812: Overhauled at Washington Navy Yard. 1812 1815: War with Great Britain. 1812: July 16 18 The
war was hardly a month old when CONSTITUTION, on the way from Chesapeake Bay to New York,
met up with a squadron of five British ships. Immediately after recognizing she was surrounded by the
enemy, the wind died. Her escape is now legendary. With both sides becalmed and just out of gunnery
range, there ensued what amounted to a 36 hour, slow speed chase. CONSTITUTION s crew kept her
ahead of the English by rowing (known to Sailors as the quot;white ash breeze quot;), by attempting to
tow her with the ship s boats. Then her First Lieutenant (XO), Lt. Charles Morris, suggested a
procedure known as quot;kedging, quot; in which an anchor is carried out ahead of the ship, dropped,
and the ship drawn up to it. This back breaking task was carried out and when a breeze sprang up at
dawn on July 18, CONSTITUTION was far enough ahead of her pursuers to escape by sail. Back to

east of Boston on the afternoon of 19 August 1812. After an hour of inconclusive maneuvering and
shooting, the two settled down to a short range slugfest. After 20 minutes, the Briton s mizzenmast
fell. A while later, both her remaining masts went overboard. At some point in the battle, someone is

Sun Tzu’s Art of War and The Global War on Terror Essay
Art of War is one military tactical text that has survived for centuries. The author of the text, Sun Tzu
left the world with knowledge to carry on for generations. Art of War is a compilation of Tzu s
military strategies, various principles passed down his ancestral clan, and Taoism for the world to
study and understand (Galvin and Giles). The military strategist specializes in the manners in which a
small force can overcome a powerful enemy (Galvin and Giles 15). These tactics have been
demonstrated throughout history by various underdogs; during the Revolutionary War, WWI, and even
today in the Global War on Terror (Galvin and Giles 21). This is why Tzu remains an important piece
of literature for all to read. Tzu s principles on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sun Wu s father; Chen Shu, was the last of Chen Wuyu s sons, revered for his military prowess
(Huang 17). Unfortunately, the greed of power consumed Chen Shu s second brother; Chen Qi, and
threatened the lives of the Chen; power became more important to Chen Qi than family (Huang 17).
This led Chen Shu to send Sun Wu to the state of Wu for safe keeping (Huang 17). By this time, Sun
Wu had reached adulthood and was knowledgeable in military studies (Huang 17). Upon his arrival to
the state of Wu, Sun Wu met with the King of Wu to who looked favorably upon his theories on
military affairs (Huang 18). After this meeting, Sun Tzu commanded troop discipline as well as
assisted General Wu Zixu in devising a strategy of expansion for the King. Their strategy weakened
and eventually led to the invasion of the state of Chu (Huang 18). After the death of King Helu, the
new King did not hold the same respect for the tactics and knowledge of General Wu (Huang 15). This
led to a great conflict and eventually led to General Wu committing suicide and Sun Wu s father s
death. After Sun Tzu learned of this, he entered a life of seclusion until his death. While his life was
relatively restless, Sun Tzu left his book for the world to study and implement (Huang 15). The
beginnings of Sun Wu s military training began with his clan; knowledgeable in the art of war,

John Locke And Thomas Hobbes
By comparing the two readings assigned one can discuss the differences in political theories expressed
by both John Locke and Thomas Hobbes. In, Leviathan, by Thomas Hobbes, and in, The Second
Treatise of Government, by John Locke different theories of political legitimacy and definitions of the
state of nature are described. The following paragraphs analyze multiple different points that are
imperative to understanding these political theories.
In the reading, Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes discusses what human existence is in the state of nature
and the state of war. As it is described, the state of nature explains how men were made equal in the
faculties of the body and mind. To quote, as though there be found one man sometimes manifestly
stronger in body or of quicker mind than another; yet when all is reckoned together the difference
between man, and man, is not so considerable, as that one man can thereupon claim to himself, as well
as he. Here, Hobbes is explaining his definition and meaning of the state of nature explaining that
even though one may have a strength compared to another, it all is balanced out in the end. Each of us
have our individual flaws and strength that constitute our character. Hobbes also notes how humans
inherently have a state of greed and savagery. The state of war in human existence is also examined in
this article. Hobbes states, And from this diffidence of one another, there is no way for any man to
secure himself, so reasonable, as

Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th
Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one
of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in
between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he
formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s
presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is
about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the
beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter;
examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live.
This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the
importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his
audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I
m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why
I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of
his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It is also important to note that the lines above
are being told from the point of view of Carter

  • 3. Nabokov Use Of Symbolism In Lolita The novel Lolita exposes the pedophilia and perversion in the text; however, the child pornography invoked is very similar to the abrasive ads, commercials, and images viewed in America. It seems sanctimonious that such a controversial novel because of the pedophilia, does not take into account objectifying young girls. Integrity is not the concern in Lolita; a novel that represents the exploitation towards the young girls is. While Humbert is a perverse and gruesome man that has pedophiliac desires, Lolita s use of language, form, and contextual writing sends a message towards the extortion of young girls. The novel captivates the reader by creating alliteration, anagrams, idiomatic, French phrases, prose style, traps, and hoax with poetic attributes. Comparatively, Nabokov utilizes and reference Edgar Allen Poe, the American writer and literary critic who married his 13 year old cousin very similar to Nabokov with his 12 year old stepdaughter. In the article, Wood goes as far as claiming, Humbert idealizes the dream of the America s shallow, mass managed culture Nabokov s stylistic pandemonium really appears when Humbert defines Lolita as a disgusting conventional little girl. How To Write An Essay On Donner s Journey To California On April 6,1846 the Donner and Reed Party embarked on their journey to the country of California for new opportunities and a better life. • 8. The Great Presidents By Woodrow Wilson Essay Presidential greatness isn t necessarily determined just by success or remembrance, but is determined by the ideas that a president has and how it impacts the people. Each president sets out with an agenda to accomplish and to leave a legacy behind, however, only few presidents are remembered, celebrated, and taught about. The history of great presidents often correlates to time of war for America. This is because great presidents often emerge to the people in times of crisis, such as wars. Of the many great presidents, Woodrow Wilson, offers unique qualities such as energy, intelligence, and leadership that make him a great president. The traits of a great president are beginning to be defined first in Federalist 70 by Alexander Hamilton. In this document, Hamilton outlines the need for a strong executive branch and the need for a strong president. A trait that Hamilton believes defines a good president is a trait of strong energy; energy to protect the nation, secure the liberties, and help administer laws to help promote the stability of the nation. Hamilton argues that a feeble executive implies a feeble execution of the government. (Lawler). Without a strong, energetic president as the backbone to provide leadership, the country can fall into the traps of factions or anarchy, ultimately destroying the government. In addition to strength and energy, intelligence and leadership is crucial for a president to be effective and great. Leadership is a necessary quality to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Second, they should check their arena for adequate ventilation, and they should look to make sure that their ice resurfacers receive regular maintenance. Some states provide benefits for registered emergency volunteers, but those benefits are often limited. The lack of reliable benefits may be a barrier for potential emergency volunteers. • 11. The Great Depression Was The Single Most Devastating... The Great Depression was the single most devastating economic catastrophe that had resounding effects and consequences on people all over the world. Did the various expansionary monetary policies employed by the Fed help the US pull out of the Great Depression during the Hoover administration? What was done differently after Roosevelt became president? Many economists and historians have argued that the misguided monetary policies during the Hoover administration including the mistiming of interest hike, allowance of the decrease in national money supply and reluctance in expansionary monetary policies due to the maintenance of the gold standard were contributive to the length and severity of the Great Depression. Several estimates from various models have suggested that the mistakes made in the monetary policies during the same period contributed to around 20 to 70% of the decline in real output during the Hoover administration (Fishback, 2010, pg 386). After the Roosevelt administration took control in 1933, recovery began primarily due to the abandonment of the gold standard and the appointment of Eugene Black as the Chair of the Federal Reserve. This argument is backed by numerous case studies, economic models, and research papers. Researching these two questions would provide a deeper insight into some of the monetary policies implemented today and also make sure that history doesn t repeat itself. • 12. Queen Elizabeth Patriarchy Essay There are many women over the ages that would be called feminist. Those would be the women (and even men) that stood up and face the oppressors of women s rights head on, but the backed justice to have an open dialogue has only been around for about a hundred years. Before that time you were likely to be imprisoned or killed. To get around this patriarchy, women like Queen Elizabeth and Elizabeth Cary, borrowed the old poetic device of allegory. The argument I m going to present is that these women, through their allegories, helped paved the way for women s rights and political power. Born in 1533, Elizabeth I came into the world with a promise and blessings. Shakespeare would later put prophetic words into her grandfather s mouth saying, This royal infant heaven still move about her / though in her cradle, yet now promises. / Upon this land a thousand ... When she wrote the poem, The Doubt of Future Foes, it is clear that Mary, The daughter of debate (Elizabeth I, 134), her half sister, was the main focus, but I also feel it was written to others within her count that whispered tales of uprising. I have two areas of support. The first was that she, Elizabeth, made the poem public for all to see. If it was just for her half sister, why not just give it to just her. No, I feel she was making a political statement here. She was showing her authority, and perhaps knowledge of ill plots that surrounds her. The second comes from one line in the poem. Marche establishes how Facebook is making us more isolated and replacing deep connections from society. He also established that isolation is an option in which we are blinded pushed towards by social networking. According to Marche, Facebook is a tool that people have to learn how to used because this tool becomes what people make of it. Despite that, there are many people that decided to detach from social network and work to create a better outside world life, but we still have connections and distractions from the social media; transfixed by the glare of a screen, hungering for response (Marche, par 5). People are constantly waiting for a response and not only by the internet but by the world itself, and for that reason, we expect that Facebook could be an answer of all the things we need answer for because Facebook is made off the outside world. The only problem is that we do not know when will that happen, or if it would happen eventually, but we are wasting time waiting for something that is not accurate to happen and that does not benefit us or help us find an answer to the things that we are looking for. Marche allude that It s a lonely business, wandering the labyrinths of our friend s and pseudo friends projected identities, trying to figure out what part of ourselves we ought to project, who will listen, and what they will hear (Marche, par 22). That is the moment when loneliness comes, in the time that we wait for a response and we do not find one, either because no one pays attention to us or either there is not an answer that could be found in the social network. There is a disappointment when what you are looking for cannot be found because you do not receive help from others and because of that, you blame Facebook within the people on it. • 14. Vladimir Putin Chapter 1 Summary Summary: Chapters 3 4 Vladimir Putin s move from St. Petersburg to Moscow signaled the beginning of the Putin era. Throughout his time in the KGB and as first deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, he was rarely ever seen as a man of high honor and prestige. His positions included advancing the agendas of those around him, but he rarely ever aimed to advance his own career. Despite this lack of ambition, Putin s admirable personality traits and various political connections led to his accelerated rise to power. Upon being officially inaugurated on May 7, 2000, Putin s boldness and authority acted as a saving grace for Russia and its people. Throughout the 1990s, the state of Russia s economy, politics, and society as a whole was in constant turmoil and disarray. President Yeltsin campaigned on the basis of drastic economic change that would transform Russia from a bleak totalitarian past to a bright and promising democratic future. In order to fight the stagflation caused by the Soviet s command economy, Yeltsin enacted measures of shock therapy to slowly reconstruct the failing economy. These measures included removing government price controls on numerous products, lifting wage controls on various jobs, cutting military spending to spare the budget deficit, and handing out vouchers to citizens in an effort to ... The Misuse Of Technology In The Veldt By Ray Bradbury We rely on technology nowadays to do simple tasks for us like dry our hair, research answers on the web, and watch television for entertainment and for the news. Technology is being over used for very simple things, what if we relied on them too much as a whole for us to forget doing simple task? Would it be helpful to us that we rely on technology to do everything for us? In the story The Veldt , the author Ray Bradbury communicates that the misuse of technology can lead to unforeseen disadvantages, he demonstrates the theme through his uses of imagery and symbolism. The author Ray Bradbury uses imagery of the setting, which is the house, to develop the misuse of technology. The story begins with the Hadley s being delusional about their children, thinking there is something mentally wrong with them because of what the children has portrayed in the nursery. The nursery in the story is described as an African Veldt, ...presently an African veldt appeared, in three dimensions, on all sides, in color reproduced to the final pebble and bit of straw. This quote implies how the nursery can be realistic due to the children thoughts. By doing this, Bradbury made the parents scream at the end of the story as the lions started to edge slowly forward towards them. That sun. He could feel it on his neck, still, like a hot paw. At high temperatures ordinary materials cannot sustain the high heat loads. On the other hand, the prevailing high temperature gradients, necessitates the provision for expansion to avoid build of thermal stresses for the integration. Hence, thermal management needs a holistic approach encompassing the areas of material selection, heat transfer and structural integration. The current state of art research is focused on achieving this by active cooling through endothermic fuel, which is used as a coolant due to the advantages such as reduced weight and improved heat sink capacities. Particularly the space applications pose serious limitations on the weight. 1D thermo structural hand calculations can be easy point to start with to arrive at the optimized shape of the single actively cooled channel. But the underlying assumptions and owing to the 1D nature of the such calculations, pose limitation towards understanding the behavior of the active panel as a whole and achieving the practical integration strategy. Therefore, there is need to perform 3D CFD and FEA thermo structural analysis of the active panel structure. This paper extends upon the approach of 1D analytical material selection methodology through weight optimization followed by rigorous CFD and FEA analysis to understand and device ways for structural integration for long ... • 19. The Ganges River Of India The Ganges River in India is an important river system that provides water for personal use, industry, and agriculture for well over half a million people. This river also serves a major role in the region s cultural and religious practices. It is widely believed that this body of water is the Earthly manifestation of the Hindu goddess Ganga. For thousands of years, people have believed that Ganga can wash away a lifetime of sins and, therefore, no amount of pollution can harm her (Conway). As a result of this belief, industrial, agricultural, and human waste are dumped into the river on a daily basis. Hindus also believe that bathing themselves in the water of the river will wash away all of their sins and grant spiritual rewards such as deliverance from sin and attainment of nirvana (Das). Hindus believe that to die on the banks of the Ganges is an assurance of heavenly bliss and will grant emancipation from the eternal cycle of birth and death (Das). Due to this belief, millions of people use the banks of the river for cremation and burial (BBC). Aside from religious ceremonies, poor people who cannot afford to be cremated are wrapped in white muslin and placed in the river (BBC). Following ceremonies, the ashes and dead bodies are dumped into the river. These religious practices are believed to be a primary cause of the degraded water quality of the Ganges River near Varanasi. If the quality of water continues to become even more degraded, a crucial part of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Why Is Montresor Wrong Has someone ever done something to you that angered you? Louis L Armour states Anger is a killing thing. It kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had before it takes something from him . In the story Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, the main character, Montresor, kills his friend because fortunato did him wrong. Nemo me impune lacessit (Poe 289), says No one attacks me with impunity . This is the cause of Montresor s actions. In this story Montresor lures his friend into a cell, where he starves him to death as revenge for being insulted. This punishment is far too harsh for such a little crime. In the story, Montresor says The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge (Poe 286). This obviously shows the hatred Montresor holds, and the lengths he will go to get revenge. This also shows that Fortunato had done something to him, thus giving him a reason to hate Fortunato. When he can delegate he creates a support system to help him with decisions. He also gave staff a lot of room to grow; by not getting bogged down with details. The commonwealth status of Puerto Rico between the 1950 1952 was with limited autonomy since the Island was still under the Sovereignty of the United States (Francesco, C. Eugene, 1999). The constitutional convention of 1952 gave Puerto Rico the right to form a republican government. The citizens of Puerto Rico were not satisfied with the current status. For instance, under the commonwealth status, Puerto Ricans could not exercise their political rights. While they were considered the United States citizens, they could participate in the voting exercise in the United States. The Right To Freedom Of Freedom The freedom of assembly and demonstration is pivotal to a democratic society due to the fact that peaceful protest allows citizens to participate in democracy by being active in governmental affairs through voicing their grievances and opinions in a peaceful manner. The right to freedom of assembly guarantees the possibility of peaceful protest without government interference and allows those protesting safety and security and also allows those protesting to make use of their right to freedom of expression. The act of peaceful protest allows citizens to make their voices heard when they usually would not be, for citizens to raise and draw attention to issues that concern them and to circumvent traditional legal processes whilst putting pressure on the government so as to not allow them to infringe upon their rights. This right allows those who are vulnerable and powerless to express their concerns in the only way available to them in a way that was disallowed during the Apartheid era and is therefore pivotal in the exercise of all other rights afforded to the citizens of South Africa in the Constitution. One can use the Jacobean period play Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare and the 18th century play The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquhar to examine gender relations during the two periods. The plays demonstrate how women were represented in society and what societal expectations were at the time. The way women navigated their own sexuality, finances, and power relation s improved noticeably from the Jacobean Period to the 18th century. During the Jacobean Period women were not allowed to preform in theatres; all of the players were men and boys (Spear 13). Because of the violent nature of theatres women didn t attend plays as Groundlings and few could afford to sit above in the covered seats above. The theatre was a place for corruption and immorality and women were looked down upon during the Jacobean Period for attending performances in playhouses around London. The theatre was a harsh place where audience members were tightly packed in. They would hiss, shout, and throw rotten vegetables at actors they disliked or applaud and clap for those they approved of (Spear 14). MPLS takes away all constant routing lookups associated with regular IP routing and provides high quality performance for company networks. MPLS Description Multi Protocol Label Switching(MPLS) is a technology that uses label switching to more data over a network. MPLS is technology that businesses use to create their own private WAN (Wide Area Network). MPLS is used to connect different LAN s (Local Area Network) together that exist in different areas of the country. When first talking about MPLS one must understand that MLPS isn t a service is more known as a technique. This means that it can be used for many different services that may not be known as MPLS. MPLS seems to operate in the middle of the OSI model layers 2 and 3 so it is somewhat of a layer 2.5 protocol. The reasoning being is that MPLS sits between those layers is because it provides more features for data transportation on a network. One of the basic concepts MPLS is packet labeling or label switching. • 41. Examples Of Insanity In The Black Cat The Black Cat, a short horror story by Edgar Allen Poe, told in a first person perspective, follows the narrator through his mental decline triggered by alcoholism. It narrates about how his degraded rational state causes him to torture animals and kill his wife. Insanity, as demonstrated by the narrator of The Black Cat, does not always manifest itself as permanent characteristics that consistently show. Sometimes it shows as periods of irrationality and irritability, an inability to distinguish right from wrong, or as mad fits of uncontrollable rage. Alcohol can prompt these outbursts of rage. Because of the events and contemplations of the narrator, we as readers can conclude that he is definitely not sane during these outbursts. The narrator is insane because he can t have power over his own actions and is therefore not guilty of killing his wife. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 42. Definition Essay On Dancing An individual may define dancing as the movement of one s feet and body, usually accompanied by music. To me, dancing has a more broader meaning. Dance is a unique type of art that involves challenging practices, callused feet, muscles that will be sore for weeks, beauty marks we call bruises, blisters, blood, bedazzled costumes, competitive competitions, and a family of beautiful dancers who share the same passion as you. I found my talent at the age of five when I became obsessed with professional dancers. Although I knew it would take a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, I immediately started to learn all the basic technique every dancer had to know. For example I learned the five feet positions (first, second, third, fourth, and fifth), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Speech On Exams Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Albert Einstein wrote, Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. The purpose of this speech is to explain how exams fail to fulfil their purpose of indicating ability. Examinations, by definition, are a formal test of a person s knowledge or proficiency in a subject or skill . However, this definition itself is flawed; a student s ability to pass a test is a shallow assessment of their proficiency in the career they choose to pursue. This brings me to my primary question: Do examinations really provide as an adequate indication of ability? Imagine a world where intelligence was not limited to the answers students ... • 45. Sundiata Historical Accuracy The story of Sundiata, well reproduced by the Guinean historian Niane, relates how this king managed to found the second famous Western African empire, the empire of Mali, in the thirteenth century. This tale is still very popular in Mali and other surrounding areas, and is especially used as a way to exacerbate the national pride and identity. The epic of Sundiata helps people to integrate themselves in an historical ensemble and to get a hold on their history. Historical accuracy might seem necessary for such a thing to happen. At least, that is what our Western standards would expect to find in an historical written tale, as if every written historical text was accurate in the first place. There is a strong importance of castes, like griots, who are somewhat still the keeper of traditions and history and who used to serve the rulers as reminders of the past to help them take decisions and orators who relayed the words of the king to the rest of the population, but who are mostly today musicians. The smith caste is also really important in the tale, there were the first to master the work of iron. In modern Mali, they are less important, but some old families, like the Keitas, Sundiata s own family, managed to remain prominent in politics. The actual president of Mali is, for instance, Ibrahim Boubacar KeĂŻta, comes from the same large Keita family, just like many former presidents. It is just a further proof that family in the 13th century was just as important as it is today. Indeed, family still determines one s social status, friendships, activities and to some extent, destiny and in the case of Sundiata s tale, his destiny was clearly determined because of his father and mother s families. These families, just like today, were mixed, since one man could have several wives in traditional beliefs and according to Muslim laws. The gender roles were strict, women were supposed to raise children, cook, manage the livestock, whereas men handled the structure of the house, relations with other families and certain food (baobab leaves, ... • 46. College Cost In College The author talks about college cost, and the effect it has on students and on how times it takes longer to graduate. This is an important topic because college cost has been a problem for many individuals for decades and it still is. College cost is something that shapes people s lives and it worries them because college cost is what determines if they re going to continue going to college. It s something that people should take lightly because college is pretty expensive. According to the advocacy group complete college America, it cost 63,718 for one extra year to attend college. For students who take longer to finish school because of certain requisites, it becomes a toll because of the cost. According to Norton Field Guide to writing by Richard Bullock and Maureen Daly Goggin found a report on Los Angeles bases campaigns for college opportunity, saying students who attend school 6 years instead of 4 years will lose 110,900 dollars in their lifetime. CONSTITUTION s crew kept her ahead of the English by rowing (known to Sailors as the quot;white ash breeze quot;), by attempting to tow her with the ship s boats. Then her First Lieutenant (XO), Lt. The military strategist specializes in the manners in which a small force can overcome a powerful enemy (Galvin and Giles 15). These tactics have been demonstrated throughout history by various underdogs; during the Revolutionary War, WWI, and even today in the Global War on Terror (Galvin and Giles 21). • 49. John Locke And Thomas Hobbes By comparing the two readings assigned one can discuss the differences in political theories expressed by both John Locke and Thomas Hobbes. In, Leviathan, by Thomas Hobbes, and in, The Second Treatise of Government, by John Locke different theories of political legitimacy and definitions of the state of nature are described. The following paragraphs analyze multiple different points that are imperative to understanding these political theories. In the reading, Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes discusses what human existence is in the state of nature and the state of war. As it is described, the state of nature explains how men were made equal in the faculties of the body and mind. To quote, as though there be found one man sometimes manifestly stronger in body or of quicker mind than another; yet when all is reckoned together the difference between man, and man, is not so considerable, as that one man can thereupon claim to himself, as well as he. Here, Hobbes is explaining his definition and meaning of the state of nature explaining that even though one may have a strength compared to another, it all is balanced out in the end. Each of us have our individual flaws and strength that constitute our character. Hobbes also notes how humans inherently have a state of greed and savagery. The state of war in human existence is also examined in this article. Hobbes states, And from this diffidence of one another, there is no way for any man to secure himself, so reasonable, as ... • 50. Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter; examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live. This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z.
