The Issue Of Concealed Weapon Carry
Concealed weapon carry has been a very debatable topic for a while now. Yes, many bad people
would be able to get their hands on one, but how do we let those people spoil it for the rest of us?
Those are the exact types of people we need to be protecting ourselves from. These people are the
reason we need to have concealed carry, to protect ourselves. I m here to give you reasons why
concealed carry should be permitted to those qualified. I m here to say, don t let one bad apple spoil
the bunch. Concealed handguns deter crime. According to the 2014 analysis of FBI crime data by
economist and political commentator John R. Lott Jr., states that implemented concealed carry laws
reduced murder by 8.5%, rapes by 5%, aggravated assault by 7%, ... Show more content on

But how do we know if we re putting a gun in the wrong hands or not? Between May 2007 and Mar.
11, 2014, 14 law enforcement officers and 622 other people were killed nationally (not in self defense)
by private individuals legally allowed to carry concealed handguns. It is very difficult to prevent bad
people from doing bad things. Regardless of background checks and security registrations, someone
who really wants to get their hands on a gun legally, will do so. In 2007 the South Florida Sun
Sentinel reviewed a list of concealed gun permit holders in Florida and found that 1,400 had pleaded
guilty or no contest to a felony, 216 had outstanding warrants, and 128 had active domestic violence
injunctions. There are many irresponsible people in this world, and whether you would like to or not,
you can t stop them all. But like i ve said many times, they are also many responsible people on the
world. A bad person will always do bad things, but why does that mean everyone else should have to
suffer? CONCLUSION Regardless of how you may feel about concealed carry, i personally will
always believe that concealed carry should be 100% legal to qualifiers. You will never be able to stop
all of the bad guys, therefore everyone else shouldn t have to suffer their consequences. Allowing
responsible citizens to be armed with concealed

Bitcoin s Impact On The World
Since Bitcoin s arrival online in 2009 cryptocurrencies have become immensely popular throughout
the world. This paper will examine how the various cryptocurrencies come into being and how their
creators utilize them for their businesses. With Bitcoin s meteroric rise at the beginning of 2013 a large
number of competing currencies have been developed with some targeting specific niches to dominate
while others have been formed to simply imitate Bitcoin. The most ambitious cryptocurrencies have
aimed to not only imitate Bitcoin s success but to completely displace its status as the gold standard of
the cryptocurrency world. These various cryptocurrencies will be examined and their creation and
function will be discussed in this essay. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bitcoin was developed by multiple individuals with Satoshi Nakamoto being most often credited due
to his publication of the first Bitcoin specification proof of concept in 2009 (bitcoin.org). Bitcoin is
highly decentralized and as such the Bitcoin network is not owned by any one person but is controlled
by all Bitcoin users. The cryptocurrencies that followed have tried in various ways to implement their
predecessors success; these are referred to as altcoins. Altcoin is the name given to all
cryptocurrencies except Bitcoin, essentially all altcoins are cryptocurrencies but not all
cryptocurrencies are altcoins. Cryptocurrencies are generated by mining which involves utilizing
processing power to work through the algorithms used in the coin causing blocks to be released. These
blocks contain a set number of coins as a reward for working through the algorithm. One of the main
difference between national currencies and digital currencies such as bitcoin is that national currencies
can be produced in limitless numbers whereas cryptocurrencies have set amounts. For instance Bitcoin
is limited to 21 million coins, which means that eventually they will all be mined out. This happens
over very long periods of time however as the more algorithms are solved and blocks released the
rewards get increasingly small. Subsequent blocks contain fewer and fewer coins and tend to halve of

proving or disproving results. Just as is the case with primary and qualitative research, it is costly and
time consuming. This tool requires extensive analysis of statistics and data. Generally, it requires
retesting, and refinement. Moreover, it does not lend itself to areas of ambiguity.
Finally, focus groups provide in depth data. They are a good way to involve the target group in the
research process in a more intimate way. Researchers can observe the group while they are having
dialogue to gauge authenticity. This tool also allows the researcher to use visual stimuli to interact
with its target. However, this tool is not the most efficient way to gather information. As with most of
the tools mentioned, it is time consuming. Therefore, not scientific. Focus groups can produce obscure

Final Report Real Time Interactive group project
Introduction
For this report the process of creating the game Chased by Snakes as a member of Danger Noodle will
be discussed.
Methodology
For this project it was decided by the group to use a flat management structure, and to follow a system
akin to free development. This method meant that none of the group was the project manager and
instead the thing keeping people on track was their self motivation to complete the project. To aid with
completing the project at the start of the project a list of work was set out from the requirements, and
then each member of the group picked the tasks that they could complete for the year. The main
reason such a free and unstructured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another problem is that this method requires everyone to have high motivation if they want to
complete the project to a high standard and a as the group is small a few unmotivated people can bring
the whole project down. The group did have motivation problems during the middle of the project
with some group members not producing any work. The motivation could have been reduced if the
work been assigned one at a time instead of all at the start allowing people to focus on one thing at a
time and seeing the list of work get smaller.
A problem with using this flat management with free development is that there are not a lot of
examples to follow with many companies using agile. It seems that this flat management is new to the
games industry and so the group might make some mistakes that others can learn from in the future
who want to use the same structure. There are however some companies that do, valve uses a flat
management structure and so does Chucklefish games (Bithell , Sliwinski, Orlowski , 2016)(18:25
19:00). At Chucklefish the flat management works well as there is a small team of people who are all
self motivated to complete the parts of the game they are working on. As we were working in a

A Report On Summit Electronic Supply
1. Summit Electronic Supply was in need of new systems that could mend some of their unique
business process problems. Summit s line of business involves being the distributor of electronics
equipment to electrical contractors, giving the company a high volume of transactions and inventory
turnover (Laudon, 2013). The most important processes for Summit included stock keeping units and
order transactions. As a distributer, Summit s main concern was to fulfill its orders on time. To do so,
Summit needed to have meticulous records of the location and availability of its products. Summit
sold a high volume of cable and wires that were hard to keep track of. Since these materials were sold
in lengths, (e.g. 500 feet of cable), it was vital to keep track of exactly how much inventory was left.
Another important process of Summit were its sales chargebacks. Sales chargebacks are when a
supplier sells a higher wholesaler price to the distributor than the price the distributor had set with the
retail customer (Laudon, 2013). Keeping track of chargebacks was vital to the company as it ensured
that no extra revenue was lost. Another important business process for Summit was its warehouse
accommodations. Summit would set up temporary warehouses to supply large customers with long
term job sites (Laudon, 2013).
2. Summit s outdated legacy system made it very difficult for the company to continue its
performance. First, the company s old system made it nearly

found in beauty, and beauty is found within the soul. Sometimes the way of civilization (worry about
reputation, ranking of social status, politics, love affairs, etc.) interferes in finding spiritual peace.
However, Genji was a man in love with beauty and the arts, but he was never at peace with himself.

Analysis Of Robert Frost s Poem And The Thawing Wind
In Robert Frost s poem To the Thawing Wind, in the literal sense, he is asking the Southwest wind to
come, melt the snow and bring spring, but symbolically he is tired of the winter and wants warm
weather. He wants to burst out of his cabin and have a good time, not thinking about poetry. The poet
has been confined in his winter cabin and is wanting the wind and rain to melt the snow, so it will
change his winter isolation. He has been longing for the thawing wind because that is when spring is
coming. He is anticipating spring to come because it will bring him inspiration and the freedom
needed to be able to do new things and enjoy everything good that comes with this season. In the
literal sense, Frost speaks to the seasons and describes his distaste for the weather; however,
figuratively he desires to go outside to be a part of the process of spring and feel alive again. In the
first line of Frost s poem, he is ordering the wind to Come with rain, O loud Southwester! Speaking
literally, he is telling the southwest wind to come with rain so it can melt the snow and bring spring.
His use of the word loud means he is asking for the wind to come and wake up his household.
Figuratively, he is wanting spring to come because it will give him the chance to be outside and enjoy
nature. In the next line, he mentions birds when he asks for the wind to Bring the singer, bring the
nester. During spring, birds come and make their nests and sing because of the warmer

Odysseus and his men, but eventually overcame it by plugging earmuffs into their ears. Finally, the
last character that was chosen was Calypso who s island was the island of trouble for Odysseus. These
three characters cause problems for Odysseus, but he reached his island(his home) Ithaca. With these

Brown Recluse Research Paper
While almost all spiders have venom and possess the ability to bite, most arachnids found in New
Jersey pose little to no risk to humans. With that said, a few potentially dangerous species do reside in
Jersey, and knowing the habit and appearance of these venomous spiders can help you avoid them.
Brown Recluse Spider
An adult brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) measures between 6 and 11 millimeters with a dark
brown to dull yellow coloring. The most distinctive characteristic is the violin or fiddle shape mark
located on the cephalothorax. Unlike other spiders who have 8 eyes, the brown recluse only has six.
However, counting the eyes of a spider can be a bit difficult without a magnifying glass or
microscope. The brown recluse dwells in barns, homes, basements, storage boxes, woodpiles, behind
furniture and various other dark, sheltered areas. The brown recluse hunts for its food and doesn t use
its web for catching prey.
A bite from the brown recluse may go undetected until symptoms start to appear several hours later. In
serious cases, tissue damage, necrosis or open wounds that won t heat can occur from the bite of this
spider. The bite also poses a fatal risk to children, the elderly and individuals suffering from a weaken

Bethany was born to surf and had a natural talent for surfing and was participating in national surf

You could see the determination and willingness not to give up and her not wanting to leave until she

reaches her goal by standing on her surfboard without falling off.
One of the best scenes I saw watching this film is when Bethany goes on a trip with her church group
bringing supplies to survivors of the tsunami in Thailand. While Bethany is there she notices a
surfboard on the ground and goes into the water with it as she tries to encourage the children watching
her go into the water to let them know that the water isn t harmful which I find inspiring.
One of the techniques used in this film is obviously Bethany s arm play by AnnaSophia, Where she
had to wear a green shirt and that green shirt was used by computer design to make it look like she has

Decline In Voter Turnout
The decline in voter turnout at the turn of the century has always been a concern for politicians and
scholars alike. The very fact that voters are responsible for changing or keeping the country s
leadership means that this development should be a concern not only to a few individuals but also to
the whole nation. The government, political parties, and focus and interest groups have tried to find
ways to increase the motivation to vote while easing the voting process. However, these methods have
been less successful than expected. While the motivation to vote relies on factors such as the attributes
of voters, political socialization, and electoral laws and rules, the impact of political parties and their

148). In essence, every voter has some political beliefs and values that often influence the way he or
she views political parties, candidates, and ideals. Some conservative people tend to vote to
Republican, while some people tend to vote Democratic. Voters have their own political attitudes, and
these attitudes determine how society goes, whom they are voting for, and what kind of political
parties they are supporting. Many elements have the ability to contribute the political attitudes, such as
family, gender, education, income, religion, age, race, and etc. According to Ginsberg et al., the first
place where people start forming their beliefs on politics is their families and society (148). This idea
explains the reason some areas in the U.S. have more Democratic representatives while others have
the majority of their residents being Republicans. The fact that most people possess these ideals means
that in the event that the candidates in a ballot do not have the qualities that a particular group of
voters is looking for, these voters will not partake in voting. When the impact of race in political
socialization is factored in, it becomes increasingly evident that some people of one race are unlikely
to spend their time voting for a candidate who does not represent their beliefs pertaining to racial
issues. For instance, African Americans perception of the extent of racism is different from that of
whites. This has a significant bearing on the motivation of voters from each divide to participate in an

As you complete dungeons, you will be rewarded loot and collecting all of them and taking them to
the loot collector will unlock styles and get the mastery for doing so. Now that you have played all the
characters and have decided to choose the character of your choice, play that character. You will need
to focus on leveling that character and that character only. There is no way to shortcut leveling, the
best way to level is to dungeon farm. Over the world portals, you will see recommended level and
power rank to enter the world. You always want to in the proper world range for your level. Going
higher will not give you more experience and keeping to low on the worlds will not pay out the max
experience you can receive. Another key factor you will notice as you are leveling up your character is
you are unlocking gem slots. This is key to the power rank portion of Trove, and that s why you need
to be level 30 because by doing so you will have unlocked all gem slots and allow you to insert the
maximum number of gems onto that character. After talking about leveling and gems a little I will go
in a little deeper into the matter. To make sure you can get into the desired portals as you level. Your
face, hat, and weapon you should be changing out with the items you pick up from dungeons if it will
give you more power rank. Your end gear type will be called Stellar gear, but you will end up having

Compare And Contrast Essay On Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City chiefs are a football team in the nfl. My favorite football team.some people think
they suck but that s there opinion. like just yesterday hunter said the Chiefs suck so I say the
Seahawks suck and then he gets mad and says there better than the Chiefs. And I say there record
definitely doesn t say that there better and then he just walkes away. But anyway the Chiefs play in the
AFC west with there rivals the Broncos and two other team the Chargers and raiders. The Chiefs
started off good winning all four in the preseason games. They won there first regular season game to
the texans 27 20. That went on the worst losing streak 5 in a row the Broncos. We were tied at 24 with

The Decline Of Organized Religion In Western Civilization
Altemeyer, Bob. The Decline of Organized Religion in Western Civilization. International Journal for
the Psychology of Religion, vol. 14, no. 2, Apr. 2004, pp. 77 89. EBSCOhost, search.ebscohost.com
The practice of organized religion has been declining greatly since the mid 20th century, but the pace
in which religion is dying is not constant in every western country. Ireland is the only country where
most people attend a religious event weekly, on the other hand, less than ten percent of Scandinavians
attend religious events. Organized religion is dying where it once was common in everyday life, which
is bad news for church leaders who want to fill their seats. From 1945 to 1985 the percent of regular
church attendees in Canada dropped in half, from 70% to 35%. Although people have stopped
associating themselves with a religion, many of them still believe in a creator. Around 32 percent of
America s population attends church weekly, but 66 percent of Americans have no doubt that there is a
God, and another 16 percent believe in a God but have doubts (Altemeyer 79). There is evidence that
the recent rise of religious apostasy occurred because of backlash against the Religious Right , the
christian fundamentalists that are known to be anti homosexual. Many people are turned off by these
beliefs and severed their already weak relationships with the church. Children are also not being
taught religious beliefs because of parents who have left the faith. Parents have stopped

Unrealistic Expectations In Alice Walker s Beauty
Growing up, I was always the chubbier kid in the class. I wasn t skilled at sports like everyone else
and was considered a loser . It was extremely hard listening to all the mean comments and my self of
steam eventually died down. At times, I couldn t get the courage to get out of bed in the morning
because I knew it would just be another day of humiliation. Life is like a roller coaster, we have times
that are low and times that are high. But we would never know the feeling of a good time unless we ve
gone through the bad times. Being perfect is an unrealistic expectation that society has. In the story,
Beauty by Alice Walker, a girl experiences this concept. She was shot in the eye and the scar that it left
was her worst enemy.

Examples Of Irony In Fahrenheit 451
Fredrick Douglass said that Once you learn to read you will forever be free . Nothing could be truer,
although it may seem to be false to those who dislike reading. Imagine a world where books are ban,
sounds pretty cool. But when reading a story solely on such a concept, reading a book seems to be the
only thing that would save humanity. In 1950 Ray Bradbury wrote a short story titled The Firemen for
galaxy Science Fiction, which later he turned it into the novel titled Fahrenheit 451 in 1953. Ray
Bradbury wrote an amazing book displaying a world in the absence of books which to this day still
draws readers in, because he shows what life would be like if we continue in a society of censorship.
Which is illustrated by his choice to include ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One prime example is explained in the article What Is a Paradox , Consider also the paradox of
Captain Beatty in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451. Books have been banned, and Beatty s job is to
destroy any books he finds, but he is obviously well read because he surrounds himself with
quotations from great literature that he uses to convince people that destroying books is the right thing
to do (What Is a Paradox 1). This is a great use of a paradox, it proves how twisted the book can be at
times because of how misleading Beatty is. In addition another paradox that is used in The Hearth and
Salamander the article Themes, Motifs and Symbols helps to explain, ...Montag s bedroom is
described first as not empty and then as indeed empty, because Mildred is physically there, but her
thoughts and feelings are elsewhere (Themes, Motifs and Symbols 2). While reading something such
as that in the book it may be confusing, but if you interpret the not so obvious meaning it can be very
insightful. Furthermore from the same article Themes, Motifs and Symbols the use of a paradox is
showing though another example involving Mildred; Bradbury s repeated use of such paradoxical
statements especially that a character or thing is dead and alive or there and not there is frequently
applied to Mildred, suggesting her empty, half alive condition (Themes, Motifs and Symbols 2).

Rank Structure Essay
The Importance of Rank Structure in the Marine Corps Rank structure is important to the Marine
Corps because it form one of the fundamental backbones of military service. Many believe that with
rank structure the Marine Corps or any other military organization could not function. This is has been
proven fact over the centuries by the countless of mob armies that has arisen in history of the fall apart
because they had no clear leadership. One of the ways that rank structure is important is that it is like a
link of chains. This chain forms a link between the highest officer to the lowest of the enlisted. This
chain allows for the anywhere in the chain of command for an order to be issued and it will go down
the chain to the level ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also one of the most important reasons for the rank structure to have been created is that any
time a commander can find out the condition of his troops. And this of course is something that every
commander especially if the commander is going in to a wartime environment would like to know
what strength he is has. Rank structure is vital to the Marine Corps or any military organization
because rank structure is the basis of where all discipline in the ranks comes from. Without a rank
structure know one would know who is in charge of who and everyone would start to trying to take
charge in their own way cause confusion and disorder through the ranks. Also without rank structure,
when rules or orders are broken in a military organization it is up to the superior of that person to
discipline that person, no one would know who was supposed to merit the discipline or who is
supposed to carry out the discipline thus cause more chaos and anarchy. Therefore in conclusion we
see that without rank structure, military organization such as the Marine Corps could not function.
Without rank structure the Marine Corps would be in disorder and disarray, because it would have no
idea who was in charge and who was suppose to be the foot soldiers. Therefore maintaining proper
rank structure is the responsibility of the highest ranking officer to the lowest ranking private in boot

Architects Are Influenced By Different Events, Memories,...
Architects are all influenced by different events, memories, and experiences. Some architects have a
general theme to their design. For example, many architects only create buildings in certain materials;
some use modern designs or arches and columns. Other architects are inspired by an idea and then
expand on this idea to create something unique. All architects are inspired in some way or another,
whether they were influenced by an event in their life or by a dream; many architects were directly
and indirectly influenced by the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus was founded in Germany, in 1919 by the
architect Walter Gropius. He created the school by combining two previous schools, the Weimar
School of Arts and Crafts with the Weimar Academy of Fine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Gropius realized that technology was the way of the future and he imagined a world where art and
technology could be unified as one. The creation of the school was a long process and included the
help of many other people, but because of Gropius intelligence and strong passion to educate the
younger generations, the Bauhaus was successful.
The Bauhaus taught many ideas, principles, and design techniques. The main ideas taught were how to
use simple techniques and raw materials to create a complex project. The new perceptual structure is
funded on the constituent elements of visual registration: dot, line, extent, position, direction. All
components and courses related to the Bauhaus were simplistic, yet thoughtful. For example, the
notorious symbol for the Bauhaus Press is a mark containing the combination of a large circle with a
smaller triangle and rectangle. The triangle and rectangle are used to create an arrow within a circle.
The logo itself is composed of the simplest shapes, but still conveys a larger meaning. Most of the
classes were also taught using everyday materials and ideas like cardboard, fonts, grids, and shapes.
The Bauhaus was centered on a common language for visual communication. All students needed a
fundamental basis before moving forward in expression and creation. The curriculum was the same
for all students in order to ensure that they had the same knowledge before moving on to the next
stage in the

Examples Of Ignorance In To Kill A Mockingbird
Ignorance is bliss, is a common adage that is used to justify someone s lack of information or
misunderstanding. This saying should not be used because it can lead people to be indignant or lazy.
When anyone chooses to avoid or ignore a situation because they do not understand it, this can create
more problems than originally had. The residents of Maycomb create issues and complications from
their ignorance and indignance. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, this ignorance is
shown through racism, sexism and distinct social classes.
The book was taken place in 1933 when racial tensions were high. This is clearly seen through the
common use of racial slurs and treatment of african americans in the book. An example of this is ...

they are white. Then there are people like the Ewells and Cunninghams. Even though they are white,

Jem states that there are four kinds of folks in this world. There s ordinary kind like us and the
neighbors, there s the kind like the Cunninghams out in the woods, the kind like the Ewells down at
the dump, and the negroes (302). Jem, who is young and immature, sees the clear demarcations of
people in his society. It is unjust and ignorant to judge someone based upon how much money they
make or what social order they fall under. Some do deserve to be disliked as such as the Ewells, who
have committed wrong acts, but even they are victims of the class system. Specifically Mayella,
whose family is considered as the disgrace of Maycomb even though she had nothing to do with that
assessment and was isolated from the rest of the world. Because of this, she tries to find comfort with
Tom and this caused the whole trial situation to be created by deeply rooted ignorance in Maycomb.

Tax 2011 Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Property: Dispositions
SOLUTIONS MANUAL
Discussion Questions:
1. [LO 1] Compare and contrast different ways in which a taxpayer triggers a realization event by
disposing of an asset.
A realization event for tax purposes is created in many ways. Virtually any disposal will result in a
sale or other disposition. These include a sale, trade, gift to charity, disposal to the landfill, or
destruction in a natural disaster. In a sale or trade (exchange), the taxpayer receives something of
value in return for the asset. In contrast, a charitable contribution, disposal, or destruction from a
natural disaster generally results in a loss of any remaining basis in the asset without compensation
(unless reimbursed by insurance). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every sale or disposition results in a realized gain or loss (unless, of course, the amount realized is
equal to the adjusted basis). Most realized gains or losses become recognized gains or losses and are
included on the taxpayer s tax return and increases (or decreases in the case of a loss) the taxpayer s
taxable income and subsequent tax. However, there are some realized gains or losses that are excluded
from income or deferred to a later time period.
6. [LO 2] What does it mean to characterize a gain or loss? Why is characterizing a gain or loss
important?
Once a gain or loss is recognized, a taxpayer must determine how the recognized gain or loss affects
the taxpayer s tax liability. The character depends on a combination of two factors: purpose or use of
the asset and holding period. The purpose or use of the asset is important because the law does not
treat all assets equally. The general use categories are: (1) trade or business, (2) for the production of
income (rental activities), (3) investment, and (4) personal. Based on these criteria, we can categorize
an asset into one of three groups: (1) ordinary, (2) capital, or (3) section 1231. Characterizing the gain
or loss is important because all gains and losses are not equal. Ordinary gains and losses are taxed at
ordinary income rates, regardless of the holding period. Capital gains on assets held for more than a
year receive preferential rates while capital gains on assets held for

Specialists on this type of sites ask about potential clients records and use them to gain an

dealing with difficult issues. Therapists who work online will conduct consistent conferences while
keeping the record of patients improvement like a physician who operates out of an office. Online
therapists use different strategies than a traditional mental health professional. Because these meetings
do not take place in the regular setting, the doctor uses a variety of methods to make contact with the
client. The session can be conducted through the use of online video chats, by email and phone calls.
But there will be times when the connection for some of these methods is not clear, and the therapist
might not hear a client s entire response. The online therapist must have the same level of education as
a regular therapist. Online therapy allows the client to remain in the comfort of their home instead of
traveling to the doctor s office. A traditional therapy session may last for years while only treatment
lasts for a few months. If the client needs further care, the online doctor will refer him to a regular
therapist for further treatment. MyTherapyNet.com connects clients with counselors and support
groups based on the needs of the customer. There are several therapists available around the clock.

Essay On Volunteerism
Before explaining the concepts of liminality and Othering and their connection to volunteerism, I will
first explain how volunteerism is scientifically defined and approached. The term volunteerism is a
coalescence from the words volunteering and tourism. Stebbins and Graham (2004) define
volunteerism as volunteering in an organized way to undertake holidays that might involve the aiding
or alleviating the material poverty of some groups in society, the restoration of certain environments
or research into aspects of society or environment (Stebbins and Graham 2004, 211). According to
Beigbeder (1991) and Clark (1978), a volunteer is someone who voluntarily offers personal services,
time and skills for the benefit of others. Stebbins and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of liminality was first introduced in the field of anthropology by Van Gennep (1909). He
described rites of passage in which the people who are undergoing the ritual are stripped of their social
status at the beginning after which they are in a liminal period of transition until they get back their
new status at the end. After Van Gennep s work on the concept there was a long period of silence
around it until Turner (1967) drew on Van Gennep s ideas for his interpretation of liminality. He
started to apply liminality to small scale societies stating that liminal individuals or entities are neither
here nor there; they are betwixt and between the positions assigned and arrayed by law, custom,
convention, and ceremony (Turner 1967, 95). According to him, there are liminal communities within
which all community members are equal. An example of such a community is the hippies who,
according to Turner, freed themselves from the ruling social structure. He defines liminality as
following: Liminality may perhaps be regarded as the Nay to all positive structural assertions, but as
in some sense the source of them all, and, more than that, as a realm of pure possibility whence novel
configurations of ideas and relations may arise (Turner 1967: 97). This connects to the work of
Rabinow (1977) again, in which he describes how the informants of an anthropologist

and personal as well as professional achievement. Career Goals My three to five year goals include
attending Robert Morris University (RMU) for my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, working
with the Nurses without Borders program, being published in a mainstream nursing journal and
becoming a Certified Nephrology Nurse. I have specific plans in place to achieve these goals as well
as a strong support system to ensure success so I can maintain my responsibilities as a wife, mother
and an employee as well. I have currently been accepted into the DNP program at Robert Morris
University and will start August 27, 2015 and hope to complete the program in three and a half years. I
can extend this to four years if need be. I do have financial aid in place already. Robert Morris

sniper kills in the U.S. military history. Chris Kyle is a cowboy at heart. He lived in north central
Texas before he started his active duty as a Navy SEAL. The high school activities he was in at that
time was rodeo. He loved to break horses, roping and grew up raising steers and heifers for FFA,
Future Farmers of America. Chris spent a lot of time grooming and showing cattle in high school as a
senior. He also continued riding after he graduated high school in 1992 and started going to college at

The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time Essay
The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time
Crime drama has always been featured as one of the most popular genres of our society. However over
the year s crime drama has been changed and adapted to fit into different times. Many aspects of crime
drama have been changed such as camera shots, seriousness of crimes and police language/jargon in
order for crime drama to change with the times, become more realistic and retain its former popularity.
Throughout time many crime programmes featured on T.V have changed through Media language
(Iconography, editing, camerawork and music). The Bill, first created in 1984 featured a lot of
Iconography. At the start of the title sequence the camera focuses ... Show more content on

Camera shots and editing have also changed. Older title sequences of the Bill used long camera shots,
which were not varied and were focused on a particular person. However over the years as technology
has improved the title sequences have become faster paced and use shorter and varied camera shots
that create feelings of excitement and tension for the viewer.
Music has also changed. The original title sequence (1984) featured reggae style music and used off
beat instruments. This suggested that the programme was based in a multi cultural area. The music in
the late 80 s was more upbeat and faster paced, however it featured the same theme tune. The music in
the mid 90 s was jazzy and sophisticated. Music has become more upbeat due to changes of
personalities in society. However the theme tune has remained the same in order for people of
different times to identify the programme as a long remaining classic.
The storylines of each title sequence have also changed over time. In the original title sequence we do
not see the police s face. This indicates that the main emphasis of the programme is on the job of the
police rather than their characters. The slow moving music and camera shots convey the sense that the
programme does not feature dangerous crimes but simple crimes such as theft or burglary. However
the late 80 s title sequence shows clips of

Henry Ford s Impact On Society
More than any single person of the last century, Henry Ford can take accountability for creating the
American middle class. We can thank him or curse him, but either way, we have to acknowledge the
impact Henry Ford had on our society. You might not know that Henry Ford did not start out as a
successful producer of automobiles. After building his first car, the Quadricycle. In 1899 he formed
the Detroit Automobile Company, which quickly failed after only a few vehicles were produced.
(Stanford). Henry and some of his original investors regrouped and formed the Henry Ford Company
which quickly ran into problems as well. In 1902 Henry was dismissed by his board of directors from
the company that carried his name because of his inability to bring a car to production. The company
was reorganized as the Cadillac Motor Car Company under the engineering leadership of Henry
Leland. Henry and some of his original investors regrouped and formed the Henry Ford Company,
which quickly ran into problems as well. Henry Ford was dismissed by his board of directors from the
company that carried his name because of his inability to bring a car to production. In 1903 Henry
Ford felt he was ready to market an automobile for the public and the Ford Motor Company was
incorporated, this time with only $28,000 in cash put up by a new group of investors. That original
investment was spent down to $300 before the company s first car was sold, but from that time on the
company was a success.

Obamacare Tragedy
Obamacare uses federal subsidies make health care premiums more affordable for people with lower
incomes. People closer to the poverty line receive extra subsidies which reduce the cost of deductibles
greatly and can even reach thousands of dollars. However, the case for many of the middle class
Americans is very different. For a person earning more than $47,520 or a four person family earning
$97,200, the premiums and deductibles are very pricey making health care coverage unaffordable. The
middle class doesn t receive the subsidies like the lower income does. Obamacare isn t making health
care more affordable a crossed the board, rather it focuses on helping people with lower incomes by
reducing deductibles prices. This makes Obamacare

  • 2. The Issue Of Concealed Weapon Carry Concealed weapon carry has been a very debatable topic for a while now. Yes, many bad people would be able to get their hands on one, but how do we let those people spoil it for the rest of us? Those are the exact types of people we need to be protecting ourselves from. These people are the reason we need to have concealed carry, to protect ourselves. I m here to give you reasons why concealed carry should be permitted to those qualified. I m here to say, don t let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Concealed handguns deter crime. According to the 2014 analysis of FBI crime data by economist and political commentator John R. Lott Jr., states that implemented concealed carry laws reduced murder by 8.5%, rapes by 5%, aggravated assault by 7%, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But how do we know if we re putting a gun in the wrong hands or not? Between May 2007 and Mar. 11, 2014, 14 law enforcement officers and 622 other people were killed nationally (not in self defense) by private individuals legally allowed to carry concealed handguns. It is very difficult to prevent bad people from doing bad things. Regardless of background checks and security registrations, someone who really wants to get their hands on a gun legally, will do so. In 2007 the South Florida Sun Sentinel reviewed a list of concealed gun permit holders in Florida and found that 1,400 had pleaded guilty or no contest to a felony, 216 had outstanding warrants, and 128 had active domestic violence injunctions. There are many irresponsible people in this world, and whether you would like to or not, you can t stop them all. But like i ve said many times, they are also many responsible people on the world. A bad person will always do bad things, but why does that mean everyone else should have to suffer? CONCLUSION Regardless of how you may feel about concealed carry, i personally will always believe that concealed carry should be 100% legal to qualifiers. You will never be able to stop all of the bad guys, therefore everyone else shouldn t have to suffer their consequences. Allowing responsible citizens to be armed with concealed ... The cryptocurrencies that followed have tried in various ways to implement their predecessors success; these are referred to as altcoins. Altcoin is the name given to all cryptocurrencies except Bitcoin, essentially all altcoins are cryptocurrencies but not all cryptocurrencies are altcoins. Cryptocurrencies are generated by mining which involves utilizing processing power to work through the algorithms used in the coin causing blocks to be released. These blocks contain a set number of coins as a reward for working through the algorithm. One of the main difference between national currencies and digital currencies such as bitcoin is that national currencies can be produced in limitless numbers whereas cryptocurrencies have set amounts. For instance Bitcoin is limited to 21 million coins, which means that eventually they will all be mined out. This happens over very long periods of time however as the more algorithms are solved and blocks released the rewards get increasingly small. Subsequent blocks contain fewer and fewer coins and tend to halve of a certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. A Report On Summit Electronic Supply 1. Summit Electronic Supply was in need of new systems that could mend some of their unique business process problems. Summit s line of business involves being the distributor of electronics equipment to electrical contractors, giving the company a high volume of transactions and inventory turnover (Laudon, 2013). The most important processes for Summit included stock keeping units and order transactions. As a distributer, Summit s main concern was to fulfill its orders on time. To do so, Summit needed to have meticulous records of the location and availability of its products. Summit sold a high volume of cable and wires that were hard to keep track of. Since these materials were sold in lengths, (e.g. 500 feet of cable), it was vital to keep track of exactly how much inventory was left. Another important process of Summit were its sales chargebacks. Sales chargebacks are when a supplier sells a higher wholesaler price to the distributor than the price the distributor had set with the retail customer (Laudon, 2013). Keeping track of chargebacks was vital to the company as it ensured that no extra revenue was lost. Another important business process for Summit was its warehouse accommodations. • 15. Analysis Of Robert Frost s Poem And The Thawing Wind In Robert Frost s poem To the Thawing Wind, in the literal sense, he is asking the Southwest wind to come, melt the snow and bring spring, but symbolically he is tired of the winter and wants warm weather. He wants to burst out of his cabin and have a good time, not thinking about poetry. The poet has been confined in his winter cabin and is wanting the wind and rain to melt the snow, so it will change his winter isolation. He has been longing for the thawing wind because that is when spring is coming. He is anticipating spring to come because it will bring him inspiration and the freedom needed to be able to do new things and enjoy everything good that comes with this season. In the literal sense, Frost speaks to the seasons and describes his distaste for the weather; however, figuratively he desires to go outside to be a part of the process of spring and feel alive again. In the first line of Frost s poem, he is ordering the wind to Come with rain, O loud Southwester! Speaking literally, he is telling the southwest wind to come with rain so it can melt the snow and bring spring. His use of the word loud means he is asking for the wind to come and wake up his household. Figuratively, he is wanting spring to come because it will give him the chance to be outside and enjoy nature. In the next line, he mentions birds when he asks for the wind to Bring the singer, bring the nester. During spring, birds come and make their nests and sing because of the warmer ... Brown Recluse Spider An adult brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) measures between 6 and 11 millimeters with a dark brown to dull yellow coloring. The most distinctive characteristic is the violin or fiddle shape mark located on the cephalothorax. Unlike other spiders who have 8 eyes, the brown recluse only has six. However, counting the eyes of a spider can be a bit difficult without a magnifying glass or microscope. The brown recluse dwells in barns, homes, basements, storage boxes, woodpiles, behind furniture and various other dark, sheltered areas. The brown recluse hunts for its food and doesn t use its web for catching prey. A bite from the brown recluse may go undetected until symptoms start to appear several hours later. The very fact that voters are responsible for changing or keeping the country s leadership means that this development should be a concern not only to a few individuals but also to the whole nation. The government, political parties, and focus and interest groups have tried to find ways to increase the motivation to vote while easing the voting process. Some conservative people tend to vote to Republican, while some people tend to vote Democratic. Voters have their own political attitudes, and these attitudes determine how society goes, whom they are voting for, and what kind of political parties they are supporting. Many elements have the ability to contribute the political attitudes, such as family, gender, education, income, religion, age, race, and etc. According to Ginsberg et al., the first place where people start forming their beliefs on politics is their families and society (148). This idea explains the reason some areas in the U.S. have more Democratic representatives while others have the majority of their residents being Republicans. The fact that most people possess these ideals means that in the event that the candidates in a ballot do not have the qualities that a particular group of voters is looking for, these voters will not partake in voting. When the impact of race in political socialization is factored in, it becomes increasingly evident that some people of one race are unlikely to spend their time voting for a candidate who does not represent their beliefs pertaining to racial issues. For instance, African Americans perception of the extent of racism is different from that of whites. International Journal for the Psychology of Religion, vol. 14, no. 2, Apr. 2004, pp. 77 89. EBSCOhost, search.ebscohost.com The practice of organized religion has been declining greatly since the mid 20th century, but the pace in which religion is dying is not constant in every western country. Ireland is the only country where most people attend a religious event weekly, on the other hand, less than ten percent of Scandinavians attend religious events. Organized religion is dying where it once was common in everyday life, which is bad news for church leaders who want to fill their seats. From 1945 to 1985 the percent of regular church attendees in Canada dropped in half, from 70% to 35%. Around 32 percent of America s population attends church weekly, but 66 percent of Americans have no doubt that there is a God, and another 16 percent believe in a God but have doubts (Altemeyer 79). There is evidence that the recent rise of religious apostasy occurred because of backlash against the Religious Right , the christian fundamentalists that are known to be anti homosexual. Many believe that with rank structure the Marine Corps or any other military organization could not function. One of the ways that rank structure is important is that it is like a link of chains. This chain forms a link between the highest officer to the lowest of the enlisted. Rank structure is vital to the Marine Corps or any military organization because rank structure is the basis of where all discipline in the ranks comes from. Without a rank structure know one would know who is in charge of who and everyone would start to trying to take charge in their own way cause confusion and disorder through the ranks. Also without rank structure, when rules or orders are broken in a military organization it is up to the superior of that person to discipline that person, no one would know who was supposed to merit the discipline or who is supposed to carry out the discipline thus cause more chaos and anarchy. Virtually any disposal will result in a sale or other disposition. These include a sale, trade, gift to charity, disposal to the landfill, or destruction in a natural disaster. In a sale or trade (exchange), the taxpayer receives something of value in return for the asset. However, there are some realized gains or losses that are excluded from income or deferred to a later time period. 6. [LO 2] What does it mean to characterize a gain or loss? Why is characterizing a gain or loss important? Once a gain or loss is recognized, a taxpayer must determine how the recognized gain or loss affects the taxpayer s tax liability. The character depends on a combination of two factors: purpose or use of the asset and holding period. The purpose or use of the asset is important because the law does not treat all assets equally. Because these meetings do not take place in the regular setting, the doctor uses a variety of methods to make contact with the client. The session can be conducted through the use of online video chats, by email and phone calls. But there will be times when the connection for some of these methods is not clear, and the therapist might not hear a client s entire response. The online therapist must have the same level of education as a regular therapist. Online therapy allows the client to remain in the comfort of their home instead of traveling to the doctor s office. A traditional therapy session may last for years while only treatment lasts for a few months. If the client needs further care, the online doctor will refer him to a regular therapist for further treatment. MyTherapyNet.com connects clients with counselors and support groups based on the needs of the customer. There are several therapists available around the clock. Each ... • 31. Essay On Volunteerism Before explaining the concepts of liminality and Othering and their connection to volunteerism, I will first explain how volunteerism is scientifically defined and approached. The term volunteerism is a coalescence from the words volunteering and tourism. Stebbins and Graham (2004) define volunteerism as volunteering in an organized way to undertake holidays that might involve the aiding or alleviating the material poverty of some groups in society, the restoration of certain environments or research into aspects of society or environment (Stebbins and Graham 2004, 211). According to Beigbeder (1991) and Clark (1978), a volunteer is someone who voluntarily offers personal services, time and skills for the benefit of others. Stebbins and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The concept of liminality was first introduced in the field of anthropology by Van Gennep (1909). He described rites of passage in which the people who are undergoing the ritual are stripped of their social status at the beginning after which they are in a liminal period of transition until they get back their new status at the end. After Van Gennep s work on the concept there was a long period of silence around it until Turner (1967) drew on Van Gennep s ideas for his interpretation of liminality. He started to apply liminality to small scale societies stating that liminal individuals or entities are neither here nor there; they are betwixt and between the positions assigned and arrayed by law, custom, convention, and ceremony (Turner 1967, 95). According to him, there are liminal communities within which all community members are equal. An example of such a community is the hippies who, according to Turner, freed themselves from the ruling social structure. He defines liminality as following: Liminality may perhaps be regarded as the Nay to all positive structural assertions, but as in some sense the source of them all, and, more than that, as a realm of pure possibility whence novel configurations of ideas and relations may arise (Turner 1967: 97). This connects to the work of Rabinow (1977) again, in which he describes how the informants of an anthropologist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Bachelor Of Science ( Bsn ) Program Essay The Bachelor of Science (BSN) program offered at California University of Pennsylvania has exceeded all of my expectations. The program is rigorous and while taught completely in the online capacity still offers all of the support and accountability that a seated classroom does. The professors are exceptional and always available for any needed help. My time in the BSN program at California University has ended up being that of self reflection and discovery, commitment to higher learning, and personal as well as professional achievement. Career Goals My three to five year goals include attending Robert Morris University (RMU) for my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, working with the Nurses without Borders program, being published in a mainstream nursing journal and becoming a Certified Nephrology Nurse. I have currently been accepted into the DNP program at Robert Morris University and will start August 27, 2015 and hope to complete the program in three and a half years. I can extend this to four years if need be. I do have financial aid in place already. • 34. The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time Essay The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time Crime drama has always been featured as one of the most popular genres of our society. However over the year s crime drama has been changed and adapted to fit into different times. Many aspects of crime drama have been changed such as camera shots, seriousness of crimes and police language/jargon in order for crime drama to change with the times, become more realistic and retain its former popularity. Throughout time many crime programmes featured on T.V have changed through Media language (Iconography, editing, camerawork and music). The Bill, first created in 1984 featured a lot of Iconography. Older title sequences of the Bill used long camera shots, which were not varied and were focused on a particular person. However over the years as technology has improved the title sequences have become faster paced and use shorter and varied camera shots that create feelings of excitement and tension for the viewer. Music has also changed. The original title sequence (1984) featured reggae style music and used off beat instruments. This suggested that the programme was based in a multi cultural area. The music in the late 80 s was more upbeat and faster paced, however it featured the same theme tune. The music in the mid 90 s was jazzy and sophisticated. Music has become more upbeat due to changes of personalities in society. However the theme tune has remained the same in order for people of different times to identify the programme as a long remaining classic. The storylines of each title sequence have also changed over time. In the original title sequence we do not see the police s face. This indicates that the main emphasis of the programme is on the job of the police rather than their characters. The slow moving music and camera shots convey the sense that the programme does not feature dangerous crimes but simple crimes such as theft or burglary. However the late 80 s title sequence shows clips of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Henry Ford s Impact On Society More than any single person of the last century, Henry Ford can take accountability for creating the American middle class. We can thank him or curse him, but either way, we have to acknowledge the impact Henry Ford had on our society. You might not know that Henry Ford did not start out as a successful producer of automobiles. After building his first car, the Quadricycle. In 1899 he formed the Detroit Automobile Company, which quickly failed after only a few vehicles were produced. (Stanford). Henry and some of his original investors regrouped and formed the Henry Ford Company which quickly ran into problems as well. In 1902 Henry was dismissed by his board of directors from the company that carried his name because of his inability to bring a car to production. The middle class doesn t receive the subsidies like the lower income does.
