How effective is the combination of your main product with ancillary texts?<br />These images did not work well on the digipak as a front cover, as to get an action shot they were constantly moving, which made it hard to get the entire band in the shot and in focus.01021080After creating our music video, I used some ideas from that for what I might include in my other two productions: magazine advert and digipak. In our music video, we use two locations, a barn and a field. We decided to take images of the band in action. This was because we wanted our audience to see the band close as possible to what they would be like on stage. However, these images did not work particularly well.<br />However, we used some action shots inside the digipak to give the stage presence effect<br />38100895350The shots we took outside were much better as you saw the band as a group of friends enjoying what they are doing. We like this approach as in the video you can see them close to what they would be like on stage but in the digipak you can see them as friends, getting both aspects. <br />-157480138430As you can see through the two products, I used the same photo and the same font. By using subtle things such as font, our audience can instantly recognize they are both promoting the same band.In all three productions, something links them all together, for example location. I made the link stronger between the digipak and magazine advertisement as they were selling the single. Originally, I was going to have a different font on the magazine advert, but I realized that was not in keeping with the digipak. Therefore, I kept the font for the quote as to add variety but have the title in the same font as the digipak.<br />As for existing conventions, the idea for linking all three productions together was Paramore and their video misery business. In the video, they have the “riot” as there background which an intertextual reference to the album. How effective is the combination of your main product with ancillary texts?<br />These images did not work well on the digipak as a front cover, as to get an action shot they were constantly moving, which made it hard to get the entire band in the shot and in focus.01021080After creating our music video, I used some ideas from that for what I might include in my other two productions: magazine advert and digipak. In our music video, we use two locations, a barn and a field. We decided to take images of the band in action. This was because we wanted our audience to see the band close as possible to what they would be like on stage. However, these images did not work particularly well.<br />However, we used some action shots inside the digipak to give the stage presence effect<br />38100895350The shots we took outside were much better as you saw the band as a group of friends enjoying what they are doing. We like this approach as in the video you can see them close to what they would be like on stage but in the digipak you can see them as friends, getting both aspects. <br />-157480138430As you can see through the two products, I used the same photo and the same font. By using subtle things such as font, our audience can instantly recognize they are both promoting the same band.In all three productions, something links them all together, for example location. I made the link stronger between the digipak and magazine advertisement as they were selling the single. Originally, I was going to have a different font on the magazine advert, but I realized that was not in keeping with the digipak. Therefore, I kept the font for the quote as to add variety but have the title in the same font as the digipak.<br />As for existing conventions, the idea for linking all three productions together was Paramore and their video misery business. In the video, they have the “riot” as there background which an intertextual reference to the album.
