3. On the front cover of our digipak,
we have used a shot from a
concert. There is a silhouette of
someone with their hand in the air.
The lighting is blue pink and purple
against a black back drop. We think
this shot looks good as it includes
someone who is enjoying
themselves and enjoying the music.
This is a shot from our music
video. It is similar to the front
cover of the digipak. The lights are
bright and are pointing towards
the stage, lighting up the stage
and showing the star. These shots
fit the codes and conventions of a
house music video and continue
our party theme to our music
video.
We also use a shot from a Duke
Dumont concert in the music
video of the curtain dropping.
Duke Dumont’s logo is shown on
the front cover of the digipak in
the top right corner. This
continuity helps the audience to
identify the artist and promotes
the artist himself.
4. This is the magazine advert. The
picture used is of the stars in the
music video looking out over the
London backdrop. We think that
our target audience will be able to
relate to this as they will relate
London with a fun day out with
their friends. The black and white
filter contrasts to the bright text
used for the title of the song.
This shot used in the video has
the same backdrop as the
picture in the magazine advert.
The use of the same view
creates continuity for the advert
and video.
Again, Duke Dumont’s
label is re-used in the
magazine advert and
video. This promotes the
artists identity throughout
the ancillary texts.
Another comparison between the
magazine advert and the video
are the costumes. The costumes
worn in the picture are also worn
in the music video, keep
continuity.
5. This is the back cover of the
digipak. The image used
was taken in London at
night. We chose this image
because the writing fits
perfectly in the sky over
London and the scenery fits
the locations used in our
music video.
The London scenery is also
used in this shot in the video.
The shot is at night and
London is lit up behind the
artist. Using the same
scenery gives the video and
ancillary texts a professional
feel and shows that we have
thought about the images
used.
In the bottom right corner of
the back cover, the producer
logo is shown. It is important
that this is shown to promote
the producing company and to
make the logo recognisable for
the audience.
The
producing
logo is also
used as the
Twitter
display
picture to
promote
the
company.
