This document summarizes a research paper on using honeywords to improve password security. Honeywords involve storing fake passwords (honeywords) along with users' real passwords in a hashed format. If an attacker steals the hashed password database, they cannot distinguish real passwords from honeywords. Any attempt to login with a honeyword would trigger an alarm. The document discusses how honeywords can detect password database breaches and prevent attackers from impersonating users. It also outlines the objectives of generating realistic honeywords and reducing storage costs compared to previous honeyword approaches.

This document proposes an Internal Intrusion Detection and Protection System (IIDPS) to detect insider attacks by analyzing system calls (SCs) using data mining and forensic techniques. The IIDPS creates personal profiles for each user to track their computer usage behaviors over time. When a user logs in, the IIDPS compares their current behaviors to the patterns in their personal profile to determine if they are the legitimate account holder or an unauthorized insider attacker. The IIDPS aims to more accurately authenticate users and detect insider threats compared to existing systems that rely only on usernames and passwords.

This document proposes a new security method called CaRP (Captcha as a Graphical Password) that combines Captcha and graphical passwords to enhance online security. CaRP addresses security issues like guessing attacks, relay attacks, and shoulder surfing. It works by generating a new image-based challenge for each login attempt. Since the images change, automated programs cannot learn or guess the password between attempts like they can with text passwords. CaRP draws on the gap in abilities between humans and machines to recognize visual patterns. The document outlines the basic CaRP authentication process and different types of CaRP schemes that could be used. It argues that CaRP provides a more secure authentication method than traditional passwords or Captchas alone.

THE METHOD OF DETECTING ONLINE PASSWORD ATTACKS BASED ON HIGH-LEVEL PROTOCOL ...IJCNCJournal
Although there have been many solutions applied, the safety challenges related to the password security mechanism are not reduced. The reason for this is that while the means and tools to support password attacks are becoming more and more abundant, the number of transaction systems through the Internet is increasing, and new services systems appear. For example, IoT also uses password-based authentication.
In this context, consolidating password-based authentication mechanisms is critical, but monitoring measures for timely detection of attacks also play an important role in this battle. The password attack detection solutions being used need to be supplemented and improved to meet the new situation. In this
paper we propose a solution that automatically detects online password attacks in a way that is based solely on the network, using unsupervised learning techniques and protected application orientation. Our solution therefore minimizes dependence on the factors encountered by host-based or supervised learning solutions. The certainty of the solution comes from using the results of in-depth analysis of attack
characteristics to build the detection capacity of the mechanism. The solution was implemented experimentally on the real system and gave positive results.

Unlimited Length Random Passwords for Exponentially Increased SecurityIJCSEA Journal
This document proposes a new method to exponentially strengthen passwords against cracking by injecting random strings of random length at random positions within the password before encrypting it. The random strings are separated from the original password by delimiter strings chosen by the user. When decrypted, the random strings can be identified and removed using the delimiter strings to extract the original password. This method makes password cracking much more difficult by scattering the original password characters and increasing the search space for attackers. Security factors are calculated showing passwords encrypted with this method would take exponentially longer times, such as trillions of years, to crack using brute force attacks compared to traditionally padded passwords. The method can also be applied to encrypt other sensitive data like credit card numbers or cryptocurrency information

The Detection of Suspicious Email Based on Decision Tree ...IRJET Journal
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a method for detecting suspicious emails using decision trees. The method extracts keywords and indicators from emails to classify them as suspicious, not suspicious, or possibly suspicious. An ID3 decision tree algorithm is used to analyze patterns in a training set of pre-classified emails and generate rules to classify new emails. The tree is built by recursively partitioning attributes based on their information gain. The resulting decision tree and rules can then be used to detect suspicious emails, which could help identify potential criminal activities or security threats.

Data Allocation Strategies for Leakage DetectionIOSR Journals
This document summarizes data allocation strategies for detecting data leakage when sensitive data is distributed through trusted agents. It proposes injecting "fake but genuine-looking" data along with real data to improve the ability to detect if leakage occurs and identify the agent responsible. Various allocation algorithms are presented, including random selection and maximizing the difference between agents' probabilities of guilt. Empirical results show the average detection metric is improved when fake data is used compared to no fake data. The strategies aim to detect leakage without modifying the original data, unlike traditional watermarking techniques.
The document is a seminar report that discusses approaches for generating fake passwords or "honeywords" to detect when a password database has been breached. It summarizes four existing honeyword generation methods: chaffing-by-tweaking, chaffing-with-a-password-model, chaffing with "tough nuts", and a hybrid method. It then proposes a new approach that selects honeywords from existing user passwords in the system in order to reduce storage costs and improve the realism of the honeywords.

Honeywords aim to detect unauthorized access by including fake passwords (honeywords) along with real user passwords. If an attacker cracks the password file and tries logging in with a honeyword, an alarm is triggered. The proposed system would generate honeywords using existing user passwords and track internet protocol addresses and locations to identify attackers. It also introduces a new "video click based captcha" scheme to authenticate humans and prevent machine/robot attacks by having users click on points in a video. This overall architecture is intended to better protect user data and applications on online networks against unauthorized access.

Fusion of data from multiple sources is generating new information from existing data. Now users can access any information from inside or outside of the organization very easily. It helps to increase the user productivity and knowledge shared within the organization. But this leads to a new area of network security threat, “Inside Threat”. Now users can share critical information of organization to outside the organization if he/she has access to the information. The current network security tool cannot prevent the new threat. In this paper, we address this issue by “Building real time anomaly detection system based on users’ current behavior and previous behavior”.

Anomaly Threat Detection System using User and Role-Based Profile Assessmentijtsrd
In network security the organizations are ever-growing to identify insider threats. Those who have authorized access to sensitive organizational data are placed in a position of power that could well be abused and could cause significant damage to an organization. Traditional intrusion detection systems are neither designed nor capable of identifying those who act maliciously within an organization. We describe an automated system that is capable of detecting insider threats within an organization. We define a tree-structure profiling approach that incorporates the details of activities conducted by each user and each job role and then use this to obtain a consistent representation of features that provide a rich description of the users behavior. Deviation can be assessed based on the amount of variance that each user exhibits across multiple attributes, compared against their peers. We have performed experimentation using that the system can identify anomalous behavior that may be indicative of a potential threat. We also show how our detection system can be combined with visual analytics tools to support further investigation by an analyst. U. Indumathy | M. Nivedha | Mrs. K. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.
