 Greenhouses form an important part of the
agriculture and horticulture sectors in our country.
 They can be used to grow plants under controlled
    climatic conditions for optimum production.
 Automatic monitoring and controlling of the
climatic parameters which directly or indirectly
govern the plant growth and hence their
    production.
Traps the infrared rays from sunlight

Increases the level of CO2

Increases the amount of chlorophyll

Plant health and growth is impressive
Our objective is to create a system that reacts and controls the
weather Inside a greenhouse.
We are here working on a response system which changes with
the change in climatic condition on four parameters.

Humidity
Soil Moisture
Light
Temperature

Each of the parameter will have a predefined functioning
solution to it.

 Sensors (Data acquisition system) :-
      Temperature sensor (LM35)
      Humidity sensor (T110)
      Light sensor (LDR)
      Moisture sensor (S510)
 Microcontroller (PIC16F887)
 Liquid Crystal Display (Hitachi's HD44780)
 Actuators – Relays
 Devices controlled :-
Water pump (simulated as a bulb)
     Sprayer (simulated as a bulb)
      Cooler (simulated as a fan)
Artificial Lights (simulated as 2 bulbs)
 Sensors:
• This part of the system consists of various sensors,
namely humidity, temperature and light. These
    sensors sense various parameters- temperature,
humidity and light intensity and then converts the
    Analog signal to Digital signal.
PIC16F887
•The microcontroller PIC16F887 A 40 PIN IC is the heart
of the proposed embedded system.
•It constantly monitors the digitized parameters of the
various sensors and verifies them with the predefined
threshold values
•If any action is to be taken for the condition at that
instant of time. In case such a situation arises, it
activates the actuators to perform a controlled
operation.
 Actuator:
• An array of actuators can be used in the system
such as relays and change over switches etc.
• They are used to turn on AC devices such as
    motors, coolers, pumps, sprayers.
• A complete working system can be realized by
    connecting corresponding devices.
Display Unit:
•A Liquid crystal display is used to indicate the
present status of parameters and the respective
AC devises (simulated using bulbs).

                Hitachi 16x2 HD44780
Power supply:
 The power supply section consists of step
down transformers of 230V primary to 12V
secondary voltages for the +5V power supplies
  respectively.
 The stepped down voltage is then rectified by
 41N4007 diodes.
 The rectified voltage from the 4 diodes is given
to pin 1 of the respective regulators. Pin 2 of
the regulators is connected to ground and pin
  3 to Vcc.
 The MC78XX/LM78XX/MC78XXA series of
    three terminal positive regulators are
available in the TO-220/D-PAK package and
with several fixed output voltages, making
them useful in a wide range of applications.
 A temperature sensor (LM35DZ) can measure
from 0°C to 100°C. However, the output is 0V at
2°C. The output of a sensor goes up by 10mV
for each 1°C. The output voltage in 32°C is
  300mV.
 If the temperature rises to its critical value then
  sensor is activated.

                                      LM35DZ
 The humidity sensor(T110) SYS-1used for
    sensing the humidity.
 Relative humidity is a measure, in percentage,
of the vapour in the air compared to the total
amount of vapour that could be held in the air
    at a given temperature.

    Features:-
    • Linear voltage output
    • Low power design
    • Fast response time
    • High accuracy
                                        T1-10
 When the control is done automatically, the
light intensity in the green house is sensed by a
photosensor and a signal in the form of voltage
  is sent to the microcontroller.
 A photocell is a light responding silicon chip
that converts incident radiant energy into an
  electrical signal.
 The LDR light sensor is used to sense intensity
  of light.

                            LM358
                                             LDR
 The display section consists of 16*2 LCD,
which used to display summary of IC being
inserted and result of test being conducted.
 LCDs can add a lot to your application in
terms of providing an useful interface for
the user, giving it a "professional" look.
The most common type of LCD controller is
the Hitachi 44780 which provides a
  relatively simple interface between a
  processor and an LCD.
 The relay takes advantage of the fact that when electricity flows
through a coil, it becomes an electromagnet. The
electromagnetic coil attracts a steel plate, which is attached to a
switch. So the switch's motion (ON and OFF) is controlled by the
current flowing to the coil, or not, respectively.
 A very useful feature of a relay is that it can be used to
electrically isolate different parts of a circuit. It will allow a low
voltage circuit (e.g. 5VDC) to switch the power in a high voltage
circuit (e.g. 100 VAC or more).
 The relay operates mechanically, so it can not operate at high
    speed.
 Increase fertility
 Better productivity
 Increase in quality of crop
 Percentage of germination of seeds is high in
    green house

  • 12. Sensors: • This part of the system consists of various sensors, namely humidity, temperature and light. These sensors sense various parameters- temperature, humidity and light intensity and then converts the Analog signal to Digital signal.
  • 13. PIC16F887 •The microcontroller PIC16F887 A 40 PIN IC is the heart of the proposed embedded system. •It constantly monitors the digitized parameters of the various sensors and verifies them with the predefined threshold values •If any action is to be taken for the condition at that instant of time. In case such a situation arises, it activates the actuators to perform a controlled operation.
  • 14. Actuator: • An array of actuators can be used in the system such as relays and change over switches etc. • They are used to turn on AC devices such as motors, coolers, pumps, sprayers. • A complete working system can be realized by connecting corresponding devices.
  • 15. Display Unit: •A Liquid crystal display is used to indicate the present status of parameters and the respective AC devises (simulated using bulbs). Hitachi 16x2 HD44780
  • 16. Power supply:  The power supply section consists of step down transformers of 230V primary to 12V secondary voltages for the +5V power supplies respectively.  The stepped down voltage is then rectified by 41N4007 diodes.  The rectified voltage from the 4 diodes is given to pin 1 of the respective regulators. Pin 2 of the regulators is connected to ground and pin 3 to Vcc.
  • 17. The MC78XX/LM78XX/MC78XXA series of three terminal positive regulators are available in the TO-220/D-PAK package and with several fixed output voltages, making them useful in a wide range of applications.
  • 18.  A temperature sensor (LM35DZ) can measure from 0°C to 100°C. However, the output is 0V at 2°C. The output of a sensor goes up by 10mV for each 1°C. The output voltage in 32°C is 300mV.  If the temperature rises to its critical value then sensor is activated. LM35DZ
  • 19. The humidity sensor(T110) SYS-1used for sensing the humidity.  Relative humidity is a measure, in percentage, of the vapour in the air compared to the total amount of vapour that could be held in the air at a given temperature. Features:- • Linear voltage output • Low power design • Fast response time • High accuracy T1-10
  • 20.  When the control is done automatically, the light intensity in the green house is sensed by a photosensor and a signal in the form of voltage is sent to the microcontroller.  A photocell is a light responding silicon chip that converts incident radiant energy into an electrical signal.  The LDR light sensor is used to sense intensity of light. LM358 LDR
  • 21.  The display section consists of 16*2 LCD, which used to display summary of IC being inserted and result of test being conducted.  LCDs can add a lot to your application in terms of providing an useful interface for the user, giving it a "professional" look. The most common type of LCD controller is the Hitachi 44780 which provides a relatively simple interface between a processor and an LCD.
  • 22. The relay takes advantage of the fact that when electricity flows through a coil, it becomes an electromagnet. The electromagnetic coil attracts a steel plate, which is attached to a switch. So the switch's motion (ON and OFF) is controlled by the current flowing to the coil, or not, respectively.  A very useful feature of a relay is that it can be used to electrically isolate different parts of a circuit. It will allow a low voltage circuit (e.g. 5VDC) to switch the power in a high voltage circuit (e.g. 100 VAC or more).  The relay operates mechanically, so it can not operate at high speed.
  • 23. Increase fertility  Better productivity  Increase in quality of crop  Percentage of germination of seeds is high in green house
