Cyborgs are beings with both biological and artificial parts. They were first coined in 1960 to describe self-regulating human-machine systems that could help humans survive in space. While often seen as just having super abilities from technology, cyborgs actually represent a category of feedback between organic and synthetic parts. There are positive applications of cyborg technology in medicine like prosthetics that restore lost abilities without enhancement, and also enhanced technologies that improve on original faculties. However, the concept of intelligent, autonomous cyborgs that could think and innovate like humans also raises questions about future control and implications.
