My main area of work will be with the graphic design side of things. This is because I will be
creating magazine covers, double page spreads, album covers, festival posters and posters of
artists.
Rationale:
It’s been two very quick years on this course, and it felt like I’ve barely been at college. The
amount of information and skills I have gathered during this course is amazing. I would say the
knowledge and skills that have stuck with me are the stuff I can create on Photoshop. From the
start of the course, I didn’t know anything about Photoshop but now I can work my way around it
more fluently.
Throughout my time on the course I have kept along with creating the same products. I did this
because I enjoyed what I was creating, and I figured if I stuck to one style of product then my skill
for that certain product will grow. The products I have stuck to doing are magazines and things
related to magazine. Very detailed and edited images, posters and even merchandise. With my
previous work, I really tested myself creatively and didn’t rely on inspiration for designs from
YouTube. So, I feel that it will benefit me because now I can advance my skills even further to get
a better grade.
Project Concept:
My concept for this project is basically a magazine brand. I will be creating two editions of my
‘Fresh Musik Media’ one on artists and another version on festivals. With my artist’s magazine
edition, I will speak about my own favourite artists and advertise their music. On the other edition, I
was going to dedicate it to a favourite festival of mine. I can give my own personal view of the
festival and give out my own personal experience. With these magazines, I will create a front cover
and a double page spread. For my other contents that I thought would be relevant to add in was
album covers, festival posters and posters. All these products will have relevant information linking
back to my magazines. Even though I have an idea and I know exactly what I’m going to make,
there is always something I can add to my collection of work further down the road if I think it's
necessary.
I think the research I will have to conduct to help with my project would be figures and people
within the industry. Such as lead designers for magazines for music that are leading the industry in
today's industry. This will help me replicate my own style to a very high standard of work which will
come off as very professional.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
What I will do to evaluate, and review is making sure I look back on my work weekly to see if I am
producing a decent standard of work for my FMP. Then when I am onto my production stage, I can
create some more weekly reflection talking about my progress and dissecting what I am done. This
will allow me to have a second look at a day's work and see how well I am doing with my work. I
feel that this in the past has put things into perspective and helped me manage my time better.
Finally, my last bit of analysing would be towards the end with my evaluation. This will allow me to
reflect on my biggest project yet and to allow me to see what improvements I could do next.
Another idea that would help is to show off my work to someone else other than myself and get
people thoughts. This will let me get non-biased opinions depending on whom I specifically ask.

theories of graphic design. I will at least research
two to three different books.

 At the same time of all of this I will be collecting
