The document provides details on creating an Instagram account to promote a local cafe. It includes brainstorming ideas, evaluating the best option of focusing on social media, developing mood boards showcasing potential photo styles and editing techniques, and a production schedule to take photos of the cafe, set up the Instagram account, edit the photos using Photoshop, and post them over four weeks. The schedule allows time to get feedback and make changes to best showcase the cafe through visual social media content.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Mind Maps/Brainstorms
Star by using the first few slides to create mind
maps and or brainstorms for ideas related to
your project. Get as many possibilities as you
can.
Don’t worry about practicality, suitability or
potential at this stage. You will assess the ideas
later.
14. Idea Evaluation
Which of your ideas do you want to develop further? Explain why you think that is the
right idea to take forward.
I feel that I really want to push the social media side of things a lot further because that's
where a lot of big advertisement is and a lot of people are active users on multiple social
media platforms. Social media really is only going to grow bigger and what better way to
advertise a business then to use a completely free method of promoting your own
business. This can also give a chance for the owners and the general public who are the
customers a chance to give feedback and really help to get to know your local area. Even
though from my experience of working for The Gourmet I know how busy it can get but it
doesn’t stop the business becoming an even more popular place to visit in your own spare
time.
15. Development
• Development should include mood boards or other visual
examples of work. It could include basic mock ups of your
vision for the project using the work of others.
• These don’t need to be the same quality as your finished
pieces but they a good indicator of where your project is
going.
• As this is not final work, it may include work from others.
• You could include test work or practice work here too to
further develop your skills.
16. Developed Idea 1This shade of red is close to the shade of
purple that the old design of the café had
on the inside of the café. So I wanted to
add in a newer colour and aspect when
creating content for my client because I
feel that by doing this it helps give the
business a little bit more of diversity for
peoples eyes and comfort when thinking of
the café.
I went with white as another option
because it’s a main that the café uses
right now and is one of the base colours
of the cafes new design layout. The colour
white is also an easy colour work with and
to me is also a good colour to use for an
aesthetic feel. The colour white works
perfectly with a lot of other colours so it
would be silly not use it.
The final colour I wanted to add was this
grey. By adding this grey it adds another
bit of variety within my work and it also
contrast well with the other two colours.
Also it can fit in well with what I'm
wanting to create and the pictures I will
be taking. By adding in this screenshot it
gives me more of choice with each shade
can help me get the best designs for my
client.
20. My mood boards for my first idea are all the possible images I could photograph and edit for the Instagram page I might
be creating. It varies from food, drinks, staff and the café itself. All these different types of imagery will be the perfect
way to advertise the café and show off to new people what the café has to offer. Then to show off my skills where I will
be getting the bulk of my marks from I could use the colour scheme and my already known skills on Photoshop that I've
learnt. But to help advance my work I will look up some new specific skills that relate well with the topic that is a café.
Even though the idea with my images is to edit with my own style using Photoshop but I will try and take the photos in
different styles. For example, changing the location around the café, adding in other items to give the image an artistic
style and finally take the photographs in a variety of angles just to make everything seem less boring.
This is what an Instagram account looks like at the time of making this PowerPoint. Over the years the design and layout
of the app has changed dramatically and finally looks very professional. This is where I will place all the images that I’ll
have taken and edited on Photoshop. I will have weekly uploads on the account because for the majority of the time I
only work one day a week. The more I post with hash tags, the bigger the account will grow and will help the business
get more attention. For the design side of things with the project I'm limited because I cant actually edit the app only
what gets posted so that is why I will have to go onto Photoshop to edit and improve the images.
21. Developed Idea 1
Instagram
Profile
pic
Small description/Bio
This is a basic reflection of what my product will roughly look
like. I want to have a variety of images on the account, hence the
mass amounts of images for my mood boards. I haven’t involved
fonts for this because I can only use the required font given on
the app. I’ll have a relating profile picture and a short bio giving
off the location or open times. Then each image will be hopefully
edited its own individual designs and effects. Or due to the issue
of maybe running out of different skills and effect I could have
the same skills or effect fir a certain type of image. For example,
pictures of the drinks could have a unique design, with food a
unique design and then pictures of the café/staff can have their
own style or design. By doing this, I think it will help the account
keep having fresh content and not seem boring and bland.
A rough idea of
what I could
possibly do is
focus on the
background of the
image and change
the colour. Then
keep the cup the
same colour and
add in different
effects to the
background. By dong that effect it will help the cup of
coffee itself stand out well and help you
focus on that more then what's going on
around in the background.
22. Developed Idea 2I wanted to add a wide range of purples to my
colour scheme because it kind of relates back
wit the old colour scheme and to me the choice
of purple works well within the business area. I
feel like for a design and colour scheme this
purple or choice of purple will fit in well and
become effect style. Even though it might be
relating to the old colour scheme, I feel that my
client will be open to the fresh style. When
designing my products I will be using this colour
as one of the main colours because to me it
stand out nicely to the eye.
I wanted to add in white again because I feel
like it would contrast well with the purple and it
obviously contrasts with black. It would be
another one of the colours that I would use
mainly for my designs just because it helps me
with multiple ideas or areas for design ideas.
Such as backgrounds or text depending the
colour of the background. White is already used
within the café which gives my designs an
already linking feature with the rest of the café.
I chose black for the third final colour because I
felt another colour was needed when designing
anything to help with multiple options. But
because black isn’t the nicest colour or eye
pleasing when designing something. I will only
really use the black for details or smaller parts
of my designs just so it doesn’t over power the
rest of my designs. I still think this colour can be
used effectively though and I hope I will be able
to use this colour with the best of my abilities.

25. Developed Idea 2
With both mood boards, I wanted to give myself a good tree of thought when creating the products. Give myself as
much options and choice, so if I get stuck then I have an easy outlet and then that wont effect my progress.
26. Assessment of final ideas
Suitability for audience:. Do you think your audience will engage with your ideas?
Suitability for client: Does your idea fulfil the brief your client gave you?
Timescales: Is your project practical and manageable in the time you have?
27. Production Schedule:
You should prepare a production schedule that will allow you to manage your time over
the 4 weeks of production. This should include:
• Deadlines: Interim deadlines help you keep on track, final deadlines are final.
• Availability: The availability of the client and any other people you may need to help
you with your project. You will need to contact them. You might to do visit. You may
need to liaise with models, or photographers.
• Feedback: This is a working brief with a real client. You will need to get feedback on
your work and also allow yourself time to make appropriate changes. Plan appropriate
time in to you schedule so that you can do this.
• Resources: You should include a list of resources that you will need to complete your
project. Remember that this all needs to be your own work
28. Weeks of Productions Schedule Notes
Week 1 Take Pictures at the
clients/my place of work .
The pictured will involve
food, drink and the café.
Week 2 Create the Instagram
account and get it set up
with a suitable name and
security password.
This will involve me
getting an appropriate
name and safe password.
This will then give me
access to progress
towards people following
the account.
Week 3 Take some more pictures
and begin editing/adding
effect to them.
Take a few more images
with my phone with a
variety of choices. Then
by using Photoshop I can
then begin to edit and
show off my skills.
Week 4 Finish off the editing of
the images and then
apply them to the
account.
Make some final changes
and perfections to my
images. Then add them
all to the Instagram page
with descriptions and
Hashtags to get the
account out there.
