My main area of activity is going to be graphic design and maybe a little photography as I will be
taking my own images for my project.
Rationale:
Throughout the two years which have led up this project, I have learnt many new skills. I have
mainly made magazines about fashion which after a while it starts to get repetitive. However, it has
taught me how to make the magazine look like an existing one and what real existing magazine
look like what they include helped a lot to make mine look like them with my twist. It also taught me
how to use photoshop more as you can find out how to smooth out the models faces which I found
out a lot of magazine companies do that so I thought id try it out. I will use the skills I have learnt
over theses 2 years to help my final FMP look its best and by watching photoshop tutorials on
YouTube helped a lot so will include them into my wok to make it look exciting than just a boring
page. So because I did fashion magazines in the past I won’t really be doing that for my final piece
but what I have learnt from it will really help me with my project now by all the research I have
done in the past and photoshop tutorials have helped a lot which I will include in my piece this time
round.
Project Concept:
The concept for my work is going to be a magazine full of different graphic designs that I have
either found on YouTube or google images whilst doing other work in the past. Im wanting to do
that because im bored of doing fashion magazines and im not really that interested in makeup or
hair stuff and I feel like it would still be very similar to the fashion magazines I have made so I
thought I like creating photoshop work that is unusual and just different so I thought I could create
a magazine of different pieces of art with my own photos. The research that I will conducting will
be from the internet like images of art pieces or just things I like the look off and mixing that with
other pieces of things I like. Will also look on YouTube of photoshop tutorials that I could include
into my work to make it different and unique with the other pieces of work I will be including in with
it. All the research I have mentioned will help me a lot with my project because I have a wide range
of parts I can go to as my work isn’t just focused on one thing so by having lots of ideas I won’t get
stuck by not having enough ideas because of all the photoshop tutorials and images I find that I
can include in my work. I’m wanting to mainly do something with neon effects that have another
filter on top of it to be different, unique looking so it unusual than it just being the same thing
throughout the whole magazine but I’m still trying to find some ideas on the internet and maybe
when I do a survey I might get more ideas from people seeing what they’re interested in.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan to evaluate my work by taking pictures whilst doing it so by the time I have finished my work
I can then use those screenshots to write what I have done which is more production reflection but
I find when you do that you can see what went well and have you managed the time well which is
more evaluation. I think evaluation is good because you get to see your work all together and you
can see what might f looked better or what went really well which is good as you can then write
about it all on how and what you like about it. This will help me develop my working practice
because it will remind me to take screenshots throughout my work which is helpful as I tend to
forget to that and makes it hard when it comes to reflecting on your work.

Week Tasks to be Completed: Specific Tasks
1 Pre-production  Proposal and background research
 Create a concept for my magazine and elaborate
more on my audience. How I will appeal to my
audience and hat I can do to attract them.

 Research existing products specific to what I’m
